For several years I have been attempting to arrange a marriage for Amy Keane, Consul of Klonor, and for several years I have been foiled in each and every attempt. It's not really anybodys fault, just an eternal sequence of sad coincidences that have kept the RP from ever leading anywhere, and since 2005 Amy has languished in protracted Bachelorette-hood (Is that an actual term?). The first RP managed to get to about six pages before it died, it was a slow decline of gradual player droppage, and the next one was cut off on the first page when my roommate corrupted my computer and forced me to format my harddrive. However, in the third, possibly fourth attempt, at this RP (I've lost track), I am determined to complete this Role-Play and finally get Amy a significant other. So, I hereby annunce the re-opening of the courtship of Amy Keane.

Amy Herself:

Amy is smart, attractive, in a position of great power in Klonor (Her position would be roughly equated with the Prime Minister in Great Britain, that of an elected official serving as Head of State in place of a largely figurehead monarch) and of good social standing (Her father is a national icon with a distinguished military career). However, she has recently been severely mentally scarred and will likely be dealing with some severe issues in the near future. She was subjected to an unwelcome mental contact (In our own society that would equate to being viciously raped by somebody you racistly believe yourself superor to) and has only just been able to overcome the trauma to return to public life.

The RP:

This is going to be a long term RP, probably taking weeks and possibly taking months. As a requirement for participation I only ask that you make a commitment to relatively frequent posts with a modicum of proper spelling. I don't ask for three posts a day, each one five pages long and featuring such rarely-used internet symbols like the semi-colon, but I do want you to think if you'll be able to post at least once every other day, and if you'll make the effort to use a spell-checker or dictionary if you find a long word that confuses you. I'm not gonna hound you with telegrams if you disappear, I just want you to take a good hard look at yourself and see if you can measure up (That's right, I'm laying the guilt on you. Try and resist that!). Whoever plays the groom will have to be willing to take part in Klonor RP's later on as First-Man, as the spouse of a nations head is usually involved in things. Likewise, I'll be willing to RP her in any RP's of yours that would need her.

This is going to be a man-on-the-street RP, by which I mean this isn't an officially arranged, diplomatically negotiated marriage, I'd like Amy and your character to simply meet, start dating, fall in love, and tie the knot. For the purpose of this RP I doubt it will 'fit' to have the groom be a person of power in whatever nation is RP'ing him; the character would need to be a person who could just happen to be in a restaurant/movie/on the street in Klonor, and how many times does the President of the US go watch a movie in England? He can still be a native of your nation, but it'd need to make sense for them to meet (But if you can find some way to have your Vice-President be in a Klonor bar then go ahead). This RP will cover the entire range of the relationship, including meeting for the first time and the relationship before they even consider getting married. We're going to go through the whole thing. Hell, it might actually end without them even getting married if we RP some problems.

The Suitors:

The sexual norm in Klonor is commonly referred to as "pansexuality (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansexuality)", which is a sexual attraction regardless of biological sex, gender, or even species. As such, women, aliens and the like are more than welcome in this RP (However, keep in mind that aliens would need to be at least relatively humanoid, if their physiology is too far outside the human norm it will simply be too alien to inspire feelings of physical attraction. Afterall, we can all appreciate the beauty of a tree, but for most people they just don't quite do it for us). Additionally, any nations (or races) that have telepathy (mind powers) are automatically out, there's no way it would work (Sorry). Hell, there's no way she'd even let him off the planet alive. Klonor has a pervasive, all-encompassing hatred of telepaths and telepathic contact that has been compared, quite accurately, to a more determined and bloodthirsty Nazi party. It's not something we're proud of (Well, some of them are), but it's there; unless you want a bloodthirsty mob coming after you, stay inside your own mind. Other than that, go wild.

There will be multiple suitors engaged in this RP at once, all of us wandering around Klonor, bumping into one another, so until we're quite a ways into it the odds of any protracted one-on-one RP'ing will be rather small, and nobody (Including myself) will know who will actually "win" the RP until we're done, we need to see where things end up, and who Amy ends up with.

Wow, I guess it has been a while since I've started a new RP, I was kinda hoping for more interest. Is there anybody else who'd like to participate?

Is there any interest now that the thread title has been changed, letting people know this thread is about?

What tech level is this? And when do you start it? I'll be out most of August w/ limited computer access, so if it starts then just count me out right now.

I'm a Future-Tech nation, complete with unnecessarily large spaceships and many planets with "Klonor" stamped on their surface, but other tech levels are more than welcome, as long as you allow for FT as well (And can explain how John the bicycle repairman somehow wound up on a planet 800 ly away from Earth). I do maintain a modern-tech outpost on Earth which I use for MT RP's (IC'ly they're a part of my nation which has sworn off "advanced" technology, living with the "primitive" technology of the current day), so if you're not FT you could always get to other-planet-Klonor through Earth-Klonor.

I was hoping to start some time in early July, so you could probably catch the beginning, but like I said this will be pretty longer-term, it might reach to (Or through) August.

I don't really have specs for my character, so instead of breaking out the shovel I'll just give you the facts that I have been working with in the past:

Beren Oronrà is one of two princes and second in line to the Largentian throne and title of Emperor. His heritage and faith are both confusing topics. His father was the last of a long line of Scottish Emperors to rule over Largent. However, his father broke with tradition in marrying into a family of high social standing, but not traditionally Largentian. In fact, the current Empress is half elf. This leaves Beren's physical appearance at a happy medium. His physical build is reminiscent of the imposing Scotsmen that came before him; however, his skin is a little too fair, as is his hair. His ears are also a slight give away if studied closely.

Religiously, Beren can be described as agnostic. His father was Presbyterian, his mother converted to Islam. Beren, not wanting to betray either parent chose to have faith in a higher power but not limit himself to one organized religion.

Naturally, people will wonder what a Largentian prince is doing in Klonor. Well, Beren, as well as most princes, have a hard time swallowing a large serving of Humble Pie. Now that the Imperial family has moved to give all political power over to a representative body once the current People's Charter drafts an agreeable constitution, Beren feels as though his family's esteem and respect will diminish. Beren is a firm believer in Imperialism as the best form of government and the notion of a Largentian Republic disgusts him. Unfortunately his short temper has not made things any easier.

This has made public life incredibly stressful for Beren and as he is now nearly powerless within government he is nearing a nervous breakdown, and his mother, as well as his closest advisors and friends, are suggesting that he take some time to relax and get away from Largent's internal strife. He is looking to go somewhere where few Largentians go, and where no one will look for him and by chance Klonor is just that place.

so when does this thing start?

Probably some time within the next week, I'm still trying to scrounge up some more players.

Jordan Lion; an intelligent, beautiful woman. Her mother and father, a pastor and his wife, passed away when she was nine; since then she's been without religion. Jordan was raised in an orphanage until she became eighteen, after which she worked her way through school. After earning a degree in business she gained a position in a high tier Fod corporation, and has been working her way to the top ever since. After a long stretch of hard work, it's time for some hard play.
