In recent weeks Dynaflex Industries has made headlines around the galaxy with its purchase of all Largentian territory on Mars. Now Dynaflex has taken its vision to the next level. My name is Tali'Zorah nar Rayya and I am Dynaflex's project manager on the Geranium Torus, a structure that will forever change the face of our system. The Geranium Torus will become a major center of trade and diplomacy. The structure itself is comprised of a central ring, or Torus, surrounded by five "branches" or "pedals" hence the name "Geranium." The station will be located just within the Kuiper Belt

However, I send this broadcast not to advertise Dynaflex's latest undertaking, but to invite nations and races from all across the galaxy to help construct and share in the rewards of this construct, which will eventually accommodate 13.2 million permanent inhabitants. The structure will measure 12.8 km in diameter (torus) and will have a total length (measuring from the branch tips) of 44.7 kilometers.

The Torus will be able to satisfy any need. The torus, to be called the Presidium will be a large, open, park-like area for thousands of stores, corporate offices, the Embassy Lounge, C-Sec HQ, a bank, Consort Chambers, and the Emporium through which all new arrivals will pass.

The wings of the Torus will be five individual cities and the cultural heart of the structure. These will contain whatever their inhabitants decide to put in them. Each city will be able to house 2-3 million residents. Plans have only contained Med Clinics and Markets up to this point. Other nations involved in construction will add new features as they see fit.

These areas will be policed by the Security Branch (C-Sec Academy) composed of 200,000 C-Sec officers. The C-Sec areas are located in the center of the Torus connected by conduits to the torus ring. This is where the Docking Bays, Traffic Control, C-Sec offices and atrium, and the requisition office will be located.

Adjacent the Security Branch will be the Torus Tower which will be the meeting place of the Geranic Council, the governing and administrative body on the structure. Each represented nation will be given one spot on the council, which will convene only when either a council member or the C-Sec academy requests one. Ideally local areas on the structure will be self-sufficient and will not require the interference of any governing body.

Do not let such an opportunity pass by and have your people or race represented on this intergalactic hub.

The spinning blue hologram in the center of the table gave to whole room an ominous glow. Shadow danced across the walls giving them a life of their own while their owners sat still, eyes fixed on the image before them. Tali'Zorah outlined the necessary supplies needed from Dynaflex to construct the actual station itself which all other nations would then build upon. She could hardly contain her excitement that her vague idea was quickly turning into a reality. As she launched into an explanation as to how the station would actually work, its central core, how it would maintain a habitable environment she heard herself speaking faster and faster until she was bubbling with ecstasy and had to pause to calm herself down. However, engineering had been her life and she had every reason to unleash her unfiltered alacrity onto the unsuspecting businessmen around her. In fact, she even intended to change her name from "nar," meaning 'child of' to "Vas," meaning 'crew of' following the station's completion. A symbolic way of saying that this station would become her home.

While Tali would adress engineering issues on the station, security would be, for now at least, under the jusrisdiction Rear Admiral Mikhailovich, now Admiral that is. He would be commanding the fleet that would constantly monitor the Geranium Torus and he would be appointing the C-Sec chief once the station was up and running. As he sat watching Tali he smiled to himself, uncharacteristic of the man who had simply earned the nickname "hard ass." But he had worked with Tali for quite some time pushing her dream through all the beauracratic bullshit and he was happy to see her as she was today.

Ambassador Anoleis, on the other hand, had not come to bond with his fellow employees over the past two years. In fact, he was not at all pleased with his assignment. Although he was as stern as the Admiral, he was far more arrogant. He believed he was qualified to negotiate with national leaders not mingle with an intergalactic hodge-poge of nobodies. He straightened out his fine white suite and scowled slightly as the presentation continued.

Finally, Dr. Shu Qian would join in as the last Largentian administrator on the station as the head of the MedClinics. However, her immediate job would be ensure workers health and sterilize the first inhabitants. The last thing anyone wants is 13.2 million inhabitants bringing 14.5 million diseases from around the galaxy. While the admiral and ambassador were each letting their thoughts wander, the doctor took furious notes on engineering information she would never need. But that was simply her nature. Always working, rarely speaking, and never socializing.

As Tali brought the meeting to a close by showing how the arms of the station can fold in during assaults to form a cylindrical object, Dynaflex CEO Robert Orage smiled as straightened out his obscenely expensive suit as the lights came on revealing the overly-chromed meeting room, which for security reasons was void of all windows and bad for Anoleis' claustrophobia. With a smile Orage applauded. "Ms. Rayya, you have astounded us all. Transportation to the construction fleet awaits in the shuttle bay. Best of luck to all of you." His words were followed by a thundrous applause from the Dynaflex Board of Directors and the Largentian team was off.

OOC note: my dream for this station is that it will be the setting for many RPs to come. I hope all of you will take the opportunity to not only build an embassy and offices but send characters and actually get involved on the station and don't be affraid to be creative. there will be hundreds of problems on the stations every day in every department and this is your chance to come up with them and RP them. As long as its in the name of fun anything goes here.

Also, some of you will note that the inspiration came from the Citadel in Mass Effect, so since I'm incompetent when it comes to specific technical stuff (for any engineer characters) feel free to turn to that for RP ideas since I obviously did. The last thing I have to say is that this station is co-run by all involved so all positions are open (I know my characters are administrators in areas but they can always be co-administrators or something) and nothing has to be cleared with anyone (unless its blowing up the station, but we even have a fleet to defend from that so its a possible RP.)

Tali sat on the bridge of the LSS Inverness, nervously chewing on her thumbnail. The loud clicking noise the habit produced was extremely irritating to the crew on most days. However, the sharp clacks rang out over dead silence. In fact, no one even heard them. All the crew could manage was to stare at the instruments before them. Seeing as portholes were entirely useless when gazing out over a construction debris field that extended for at least two hundred kilometers, the crew's only way of confirming that the Presidium had passed its test and was determined structurally sound was one tiny screen.

Over twenty crew dripped with perspiration as they crowded around the one terminal. The red lights, informing the crew it would be night on their home planet, cast long dark shadows and gave the room a feeling of intimacy and suspense.

There were several sharp gasps as the terminal came to life and a bright, white hologram of the Presidium appeared. It was quickly followed by a second. In contrast with the barely light bridge, the two images were blinding but not a soul could look away. That is, with the exception of Tali would couldn't bare to watch. All the hours toiling over plans and painstakingly piecing to Torus together would be judged and her worth would be determined in the following seconds.

At first the two images were blank:

Then room by room green lights lit up, signaling to the crew of the Inverness that the area was structurally sound. With each low droning beep the roar of joy from the crew build until both images were entirely green. Then, two more blank maps appeared and the process continued.

As more and more green lights flashed and the low droning beep continued to ring throughout the ship, Tali grew tenser and tenser. She bit down on her lip until the crimson blood ran from the side of her mouth, disappearing on the floor bathed in the red lights.

Finally, the last map appeared. One by one the rooms were cleared until all that remained were the headquarters of the Med Clinic. There was a pause.

Suddenly the unbearable silence returned until it was broken by a terrible buzzing noise as the room blinked yellow.

Tali cursed so loudly that the entire crew jumped and swung around to look at her with surprised expressions. No one had ever heard the mild-mannered project manager swear before. Once the novelty of the incident wore off, attention returned to the hologram. The yellow, flashing light indicated an error. It was not red, which meant there was hope. The only hope was that the drone assigned to those specific quarters malfunctioned. If it was a structural imperfection, work would be halted and the project abandoned.

It seemed like ages before the sector turned white again and the buzzing stopped...Green. It was a malfunctioning drone, the Torus was complete. All that remained was to attach the pre-constructed wings to the structure and it would be complete.

Tali could now proudly display and welcome all nations of the Milky Way and other galaxies to come share in the fruits of her labor at the brand new Geranium Torus!

OOC: please excuse some poor picture quality, and also note that the space ship in the last image is extremely far away from the structure and that the camera angle is not perfect.

Everyone feel free to RP the construction of an embassy and/or join in however else you see fit. The station will be swarming with traffic as it is just being opened.
