The Grand Kingdom of Aerion is a Monarchy. It is a postmodern nation. Aerion is both the name of the nation, and the name of the small continent that the nation is on. Aerion was once a land with numerous nomadic clans. Aerion has been through many successive regimes, most dictatorial in nature but not in name. Currently Aerion is a monarchy with many megacorporations having significant power as well.

We reach out to the world a hand of friendship. It has been some time since the Grand Kingdom of Aerion has sought new diplomatic ties, and in the spirit of peace we would like to invite any interested nations to open formal diplomatic relations with us, and send ambassadors to our great nation.

The Grand Kingdom of Aerion is a great nation with a rich heritage. Those who visit here find our people strong minded, and hard working. We have many thriving industries. We have many avenues of trade, and if you are seeking a nation to trade with then the Grand Kingdom of Aerion may suit your needs.

Those who seek to trade or those who seek to establish diplomatic relations may establish such with us through the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Embassy Establishment Information

OOC NOTE: All does not have to be roleplayed, but this is the procedure.

Standard Diplomatic Procedures for Nations Establishing Relations

1. State intention of formalizing diplomatic relations with a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs

2. With the advice of the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs procure an building for an embassy, and for the residence of the Ambassador or diplomatic representative as well as housing for the diplomatic staff. (This may change if your nation conducts diplomacy differently.)

3. The ambassador or appointed diplomatic representative extraordinary and plenipotentiary presents letters of credence from the sending nation's head of state to the Crown Prince Regent as head of state of Aerion. After which they are accredited. In the absence of a head of state (such as elections or for some other reason) a Chargé d'affaires en pied may be dispatched from the sending nation accredited to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Aerion or simply a Chargé d'affaires from the government though a Chargé d'affaires en pied is preferable if the sending nation does not have a head of state to dispatch letters of credence declaring their diplomatic representative with extraordinary and plenipotentiary powers. Note by protocol and tradition in title most foreign ambassadors are accredited Ambassador to the Royal Aerionian Court rather than to the Grand Kingdom of Aerion.

4. Diplomatic visas are obtained. In Aerion A-1 for foreign government officials and families: ambassadors, public ministers, career diplomats, or consular officers, A-2 for foreign government officials and families: other foreign government officials or employees, and A-3 for foreign government officials and families: attendants, servants, or personal employees of A-1 and A-2 classes. These visas must be obtained to be officially declared with diplomatic immunity.

5. The permanent mission (commonly known as an embassy) is established with the property having extraterritoriality status as well as the official Ambassadorial Residence. By tradition and convenience Embassy Avenue and it's sidestreets in the Royal District in Astevane are where most foreign embassies are located.
