Aerion

The massive World Headquarters of Amkarethz Holdings encompassed the Provincial Palace, and a large 200 floor glass and steel skyscraper that had been recently built adjacent to the palace, as well as smaller buildings that had been adjoined to the Palace. The Provincial Palace was a grand marble domed structure that, while not rivaling the Royal Palace in Astevane, was almost a mile wide. It was the former residence of the Governor and capitol building of the province of which half had been granted to Amakarethz Holdings as Aerion's first Corporate Autonomous Territory. Amkarethz Holdings governed this territory as practically the sole governing authority, with only the Crown itself to answer to and pay taxes to. Amkarethz Holdings was the largest megacorporation of the Grand Kingdom of Aerion, and owned several large subsidiary corporations. Many of these corporations had moved their headquarters, and divisional headquarters into the nearby business district in what was the provincial capital and now the territory's capital.
As with many Aerionian provincial capitals, which were almost all megaopolises or megacities, not far from the core historical district where the Palace was massive skyscrapers dotted the landscape. Though even the historical capitol district had began to look more architecturally modern though the territorial grant from the Crown had stipulated that certain historically preserved places could not be altered. In addition of course all citizens remained royal citizens of the whole Grand Kingdom, they only were governed by the corporation since they lived within the territory.
Inside the provincial palace at one end of a massive marble corridor an Eastern Aerionian receptionist sat at a small metallic desk, looking rather out of place to her surroundings. Her loose white shirt, and short black skirt were more fashionable than the typical garb of receptionist in the corporate structure. She wore a lense over one eye that scrolled data, and in her ear was a small wireless microphone. She was exceptionally beautiful by typical standards of Aerionian society. Skinny, and appearing as a model. Behind her massive statues lined the corridor. These were in fact the ancient tribal chieftans and heroes of the tribe that had possessed this province in early Aeronian history. Though largely ignored, workman often polished them to add to the appearance of the hall.
A short balding Western Aerionian man in an typical French-cut black business suit with burgundy collar shirt, and red tie stepped up to the receptionist desk. This was Doctor Patuero Myblero, an well known bio-tech scientist. He was CEO of Uvsta Biotechnology Firm, of which Amkarethz Holdings owned 60%. Though he himself had an office, a receptionist, and the very wealthy trappings of an Aerionian CEO he was extremely nervous. He felt as if he were one of the young interns in the office of an Vice-President. For he was meeting his boss, the renowned Morthian Amkarethz, CEO of Amkarethz Holdings.
Dr. Myblero had done many questionable acts in his lifetime. He had participated in experiments that pushed the legal limits, but what he had learned was going on within his very own corporation at a level of authorization that went over his head appalled him. He thought of what he had heard could be happening to even children and mothers.
He cleared his throat with a very grave look on his face, "Is Mr. Amkarethz ready to see me?" The receptionist smiled as if she were used to the sort of nervous attitude, speaking in a cold but very classy tone, "Yes Doctor. To the end of the hall."
Dr. Myblero had only met Morthian Amkarethz a handful of times throughout his career, usually only interacting with Executive or Senior Vice-Presidents of Amkarethz Holdings. The times he had met him he did not seem like a pleasant man, and got the distinct feeling of being in the presence of someone who felt like an Emperor rather than a CEO. This was his first time meeting him in his new office in the new World Headquarters of Amkarethz Holdings in the palace. It was his understanding that the CEO's office was the former Governor's Office and library.
Behind the receptionist on each side of the corridor stood two black armored, black helmeted officers of the Amkarethz Holding's Corporate Security Division. These men made the Doctor exceptionally nervous, and he endeavored to walk past them as quickly as possible. They did not move as he passed. He walked down the long marble corridor, feeling small as he walked down the middle between the large statues. He found himself thinking surprisingly of history as he walked down the corridors, of how the megacorporations were the powers in a society that had once long ago been tribal.
As he came to the end of the hall he stood before large bronze double doors between what appeared to be two large black onyx Sphinx-like statues but were white wolves with human heads rather than lions. Standing beside the doors once again appearing somewhat more sinister than the statues were two more officers of the Amakreth Holding's Corporate Security Division in black padded armor and black visored helmets. The keypad beside the door also had a retinal scanner, and handscanner. The CEO of Amkarethz Holdings had more security than some royalty.
