I'm building Kirav as a unique nation, lacking many things seen as commonplace in the rest of the world, and having many others that are specific to Kirav only. As such, I've decided to make a nice, easy-to-link-to thread to define come concepts unseen elsewhere.
Italic words are from the Coscivian languages
A
Accepted Peoples- Ethno-sociologic term used to refer to non Cosciv- or Khar-Kiravian tribes, ethnic groups, and races that are considered to be equal to the mainstream cultures. Native Kiravians and Indo-Aryan Kiravians, for example.
B
Barbarian List- Officially the "Ledger of Hostile and Uncivilised Societies", it is a liſt compiled by the Strategic Sociology Agency of nations, ethnic groups, and other populations that are viewed as unecceſſarily ſavage and uncultured.
C
Coscivian- A language group consisting of several macrolanguages, language families, and language isolates. It developed on the supercontinent of Coscivia, and is written in several Glyphicates(see "G"). Standard Coscivian serves as the KE's official language, and Coscivian languages are spoken by 90% of the population.
Coscivs- A human* racial group with its origins on the Coscivian ſupercontinent. They comprise a majority of the Kiravian population.
*Some ſcientists, citing ſlight ſkeletal differences, claſſify Coscivs as diſtinct homonids.
Countyship- A political unit within a province or colony, equivalent to a county. Countyships consist of municipalities and unincorporated land, and serve as the unit for intra-provincial legislative representation.

Exflux- Term used to describe the emigration of Kiravians from Kirav Proper to the Colonies. Compare Influx.

Glyphicate- An orthography of the Coscivian languages. Glyphicates can be logographic, syllabic, alphabetic, or a mix of different systems. Imperiax Glyphicuv , the glyphicate popularised by the Coscivian Empire, is the most common, and variants exist for many languages.

Iglúv-(From Igloo) A type of shelter consisting of a dome-shaped building or octagonal rotunda covered with snow on the exterior for protection. Used by inhabitants of Kiravian Antarctica and the Polar Colonies.
Imperial Green- The shade of green used as the field of the Imperial Flag. It is also used to indicate KE possessions on maps (Like Pink or Red used for British posessions)
Imperial Statute- Document ratified by the Confederal Republics of Kirav in 19857. Officially founded the Kiravian Empire, and pronounced unification with the Union of Kirverda.
Influx- Term used to describe mass immigration to Kirav from Coscivia.
International Avenue- Street in Kartika, Kirav. Home to the Secriat of State, most Embassies, and the Overseas Kiravians Affairs Office
Ironstone, Vurður Cheif of the Colonisation Commission. Known for his fiercely imperialistic ideology and presence in the Imperatic Elections of 21197. Of the Phaerev people, born in the Irukana Colony.

Kartika- Capital of the Kiravian Empire (Pop: 1,672,000) Located in Ventralia Province, Kirav.
Kirav- Homeland and most populous province of the Kiravian Empire. Colliqually used to refer to the Empire as a whole.
Kiravia- The whole of the Kiravian Empire
Kirosphere- The sphere of countries considered to be closly linked to Kirav. The KE, Eastern Kiravian Empire, and the Kiravian Commonwealth are generally included.
Krovenirene Castra- Palace in Kartika, Kirav. Residence of the Emperor and home to many high-level Imperial offices. Metonym for the Emperor and his close staff.

Méla- Tea-like plant grown in the Empire, also the drink made from the plant.

Noble Races- The five civilisations: Kiravians, Echonians, Picts, Alaceans, and Uir, that are believed by certain circles of Kiravian scholars to be the most civilised in the world. Some include Nosorans as well.

Praetor- Imperial official who oversees colonial governments, heads the Congress of Governors.

Raincedar, Kexarin Former Kiravian Emperor. Responsible for bringing the Empire onto the world stage. Of the Kaskev ethnic group, born in Indaha Province, Kirav.

Sea Kiravians- An oceanfaring Kiravian ethnic group. Only about 15% of Sea Kiravians are Imperial citizens or residents, as they moſtly live on clan ſhips or in ſmall port or island communities throughout the worlds oceans. Population is eſtimated at 730,000.
Seawind, Irasur- Current Kiravian Emperor.
Saar- The currency of the Kiravian empire. ♢1= 1,000 kilae. Saars are circulated in electronic or coin forms only.
Spiritual Cathedral- A large, pan-religious worſhip building found in many of the Empire's major cities. Such buildings were originally built to provide universal service to Coscivian Theists and Christians. Nowadays, they are visited and prayed in by people of all beliefs.

United Kingdoms of Kirav- Former state occupying Northeastern Kirav and smallportions of Kirverda. Dissolved, constituant kingdoms joined the Confederate Republics of Kirav. Often used by residents of the said area as the metonym for metropolitan Kirav, usually with elitist connotations.

Valëka- Largest city in the Kiravian Empire (Pop: 7 million). Named for Keður Valëkas(See Below), and built at the sit where he landed.
Valëkas, Keður- Coscivian Explorer, discovered the lands that would become Kirav, led 352 settlers of his ethnic group (the Seðev) to settle in Kirverda.
