Dr Who (Open OOC/Sign Up Character RP)
Right, I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and so I was thinking of doing a NS Series of his adventures. This RP will be set out differently in that it will be broken down into episodes as it were, so your character may only appear in one episode a few episodes or even all the episodes. Each episode will have its own thread and their links will be posted here. However a new episode will only begin once the previous has finished.
Characters:
The Doctor (Londim) - This role will be played by me. The Doctor is the last of the Time Lords after surviving the Time War with the Daleks. He travels through Space and Time in the TARDIS.
The Doctors Assistant (Kulikovia)- This role is open. The Doctor travels with a companion who is usually a young woman. Whoever gets this will need to do a character sheet for the companion. The Doctor will meet this companion in the first episode.
First Episode: A Doctor Calls.
The plotline of this episode. The Doctor appears on Earth in the year 2008. He lands on a village green in a small village in England during the middle of the night. The village seems ordinary enough but something is a bit strange about it...
Characters needed for this Episode:
A few anxious villagers
An evil entity. If you choose to be the evil entity, you need to give a brief history and what it is doing in the village and the villagers, its plans and such. (Breeders and Women)
The evil entity's henchman. (Singotopia and New Communistica)
Episode List:
Episode 1: A Doctor Calls (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13568184#post13568184)

I am intrigued and would like to be The Doctor's assistant. Does his assistant also have to be an alien or a human?

Well, the assistant has always been human. This assistant is a totally ordinary person who somehow ends up in a situation which the Doctor solves.

Alrighty, here's my character:
Name: Hannah Jones
Age: 27
Height: 5'9''
Weight: 130lbs
Hair: Shoulder length, Red
Eyes: Blue
Bio: Hannah comes from a small town in England. Born and raised in this rustic atmosphere, it offered her imagination an endless supply of ideas. She is a new English teacher at the local school. In her spare time, she is a struggling novelist trying to make a break in the publishing business. She's free-spirited, casual, and has a spur of the moment attitude and tries to get the most out of life.
Is this good?

That's great. Really fits in with the type of person to be the Doctor's Assistant. Also, have you watched Doctor Who? I seriously recommend it if you haven't?

I am an American and this program is not avaliable to us. I read up on it and heard about it from Brits I knew over time. It sounds quite interesting and it's a shame that it's not on American program television.
Doctor Who (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/)
Watch the trailer and if possible in the States, download BBC iPlayer. I think the new series starts next week and the episode will be available on iPlayer after it has aired on TV. You will not regret it.

I'll be the entity, if you don't mind. Here's a description (just to let you know beforehand, I like classic horror.)
Name; I'll let you guys supply it
Species: Vampire (male)
Place(s) of dwelling: under rafters beneath altar of old church, in dungeon of nearby feudal manor, henchman's place
History: Was a local petty knight who ruled the village from nearby small manor, fought in the Third Crusade, came home with an unusual guest and died shortly afterward, exhumed after first attack, coffin wrapped with chains and a crucifix tossed in, then tossed into ocean, recently washed up and escaped
Plans: Restore himself to strength, attempt to reunify vampires worldwide and lead them in a power-controlling cabal
does it look good?

It does indeed. I don't think the Doctor has faced a vampire before.

I would like to be the vampires henchman:
Name: Eddie Jones (Hannah's brother if that's OK) a human controlled by the vampire.
Age: 30
Height: 6'7"
Bio: A lifetime resident of the village, he is very tall and is the strongest man in town. He's not too smart (perfect for a henchman;)) and lately has taken to hanging around at night, especially at the Church. His unusual behaviour coincides with strange disappearances and other events around the village.
Edit: Damn, someone got their first...
The Vampire can have two henchmen.

Humm. Nifty. Just out of curiosity, any particular Doctor in mind? David Tennant? Original one?
Mostly, I ask as I've a Doctor Who (Time Lord, basically) puppet out there, always interested in what people do with the character on NS. Also, there's a couple of other vampire episodes; Smith and Jones last year for a start (There called a Plasmavore, but basically the same thing. ;) ) And there've been a few non-human companions, notably, the first one, his grand-daughter. :P

I'm going with the David Tennant Doctor as that is the one most would be familiar with. I missed most of the last series due to lacking a TV. Cannot wait for the new series.

I've added some sound and visual aides to liven up the RP a bit. Check out all of them to really get into the Dr Who spirit. :)

I am an American and this program is not avaliable to us.
Here in Western New York, we have the Buffalo Time Council, the oldest sci-fi fan club in this half of the state, of which I am a member.
I beg to differ with you. Dr. Who IS INDEED available for viewing in America. Not only that, but I know a couple of super-fans, one of whom has virtually the entire collection of Dr. Who episodes.
Can't resist having characters in the same universe as Dr. Who...
In the '70's, when I first started watching the series on PBS and figured that, since the F/X were so cheap, they must let just about anybody write for it (don't worry, I learned), I started writing a fan fic/play set in that universe. In it, I had a couple of characters whom I'm bringing back for this one. Ironically, my screenplay anticipated the levitation capabilities of the Daleks.
Name: Jordan Dagrond
Age: 34
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs
Hair: Brown, Short
Eyes: Blue
Bio:
Engineer/Technician on the starship Owl when she made her clandestine visit to Skaro, the burned-out homeworld of the Daleks. Only survivor when planet's long-dormant autodefenses reactivated and caused ship to crash land. Scavenged the planet. Built a rudimentary TARDIS that ALMOST even worked (it could TAKE OFF rather well, and it could LAND rather safely, but it just had a LITTLE TINY BIT of trouble GOING WHERE IT WAS SET TO). Found an old Dalek travel suit and used it to give a new life to...
Name: El'Breth
Age: 15
Height: 4'2"
Weight: 560 lbs
Hair: None
Eyes: Red (only one)
Bio:
Scaro mutant placed in a recycled Dalek travel suit by Jordan Dagrond. Dalek-like, but without the genetic modifications that Davros imposed upon the "original" Daleks, and which give them their urges to kill, conquor and destroy. This is not to say that he lacks the capacity for violence. Daleks can detect his unlicensed travel suit, and sometimes come from light years away in order to attempt to exterminate him, to coin a phrase.

BTW, doesn't this thread (and its companion) belong in the "international incidents" forum rather than this one?
Welcome Dastardly Stench. They should be fine in Nationstates section. Interesting characters, especially the Dalek.

"Interesting characters..."
That's what.
I'll delete the post if you want. I'm just impatient by nature. I've also been watching some old Dr. Who episodes for homework, so I've picked up that Brittish chattiness again. Going to have to be careful not to go on too much.
