Laemondae wishes to review and possibly upgrade the national education system and would appreciate comments and suggestions from all.
Here is the outlay of our current system. all schools are single gender.

Infantry: 3-6 yrs old , 8am-12pm, 5 days per week
Primary: 6-10 yrs old , 8am-2pm, 5 days per week
Junior: 10-14 yrs old , 8am-4pm, 6 days per week
Senior: 14-18 yrs old , 8am-6pm, 6 days per week

Elite: made up of specially selected outstanding students in each section with seniors staying on until age 21. elite schools are situated in a special education district under strict security. students return home for 2 weeks in winter, 2 weeks in spring and 4 weeks in summer.

note: it is compulsory for girls to attend after school/sunday nursery until age 16.

Uniforms: all students wear uniforms. boys wear navy suit, white shirt + navy tie, girls wear simple navy dress with white aprons + white bonnets. all students wear navy shoes.

Not knowing the exact details about Laemondae but do kids really need to be at school for 10 hours a day six days a week for a grand total of 60 hours that is a hell of a lot of work Ihope they aren't given homework.

Why not cut it down to about 6-7 hours a day five days a week for both senior and junior. Cut infantry for ages 3-5 at the most and start primary at 6 and possibly have them go from 8-3 and change infantry from 8-12 to 9-12 or maybe hold two sessions in infantry 8-11 and then from 1-4 giving parents an option and help in organising their schedule.

What is after school/Sunday nursery about? they have school and then have this especially on a Sunday and they won't have any time away from formal education especially if they are in junior where they are at school for 6 days a week and then in Sunday nursery on Sunday.

Oh, there's lot's of things that needs to be changed if you want to bring your country's education system into the 21st century or even just the 20th century. First off, do away with the uniforms, they are a flagrant intrusion on the right to free speech. Same thing goes for any "gender roles" nonsense, all schools should be mixed-gender, and this "afterschool nursery" nonsense should be dropped, girls should just be allowed to go home after school.

Also, we believe a 60 hour work week for sudents is excessive and should be cut to no more than 40 hours per week with no classes on saturday. Some religions have their day of rest on saturday after all.

Kurona disagrees with abolishing uniforms. Uniforms have been proven time and time again to prevent needless distractions, offensive statements, and dress code violations.

We recommend reducing your school hours. It is a tremendous load on teachers and children alike. Children need time to play as well as learn. We would recommend making more co-ed classes instead of gender single classes, to better interact with the opposite sex and prepare them for the times of dating, courtship and ultimately marriage.

For elite we recommend reducing the summer hours and adding to Spring and Winter.

What extra circular classes do you offer?

Not all of the hours that children spend at school consist of hard work.
Students have long lunch breaks lasting for up to an hour and a half for those whose schoolday is long and students also have study periods for half an hour usually once/twice a day where they do any assignments given to them by their teachers. Homework is rare and is usually only given in the short form of a questionare taking roughly 10 minutes to do.

afterschool/sunday Nursery is where girls are cared for by female carers for roughly an hour afterschool or on sunday.
It is fun and has good social benefits. students also have the opportunity to learn skills in areas such as music, Drama and sometimes needlecraft.
this movement is fairly new (5yrs) and as part of the education system review we hope to set up a similar movement for boys.

School dinner parties/dances are aranged for older students at the end of each term. the local boys school links up with the local girls school and they take turns as host.

please see my reply about nursery for our extra curricular activities although many schools choose to shorten their academic hours and have compulsory extra curricular activities ranging from sports to Music/Drama.

This suits the government as students are still attending legal amounts of school hours.

Elite Terms are being reviewed and i shall forward your suggestion.

What are the goals of Laemondae's educational system? Are the goals up for comments and suggestions too?

We strive for exellence. Through Education we wish to feed our young the knowledge of their elders. to teach them the Laemon way of life and to show each student that they have an important role in Laemon society.

with our elite student programme we wish to take outstanding students and nurish their talents in the area in which they are outstanding at a boarding school where top teachers will show them how to make good use of their talents. such students will generally go on to university or work in high government positions. others often teach in their specialised area passing on their knowledge to the young.

Academic pressure is generally not enforced to students but sometimes enforced slightly for motivation when teachers know that students can do better.

We also believe in strict discipline as part of the training of our youth to become good moral citizins.

Schools have government set punishment and discipline rules and procedures.
As punishment students are normally deprived of their social hours with other students or in extreme cases sent to the discipline building of the school (a holding facility) and await collection by their parents. Parents are not obliged to collect their child until two weeks have passed. After two weeks if they fail to collect their child the child will be placed into fostercare and the parents fined. students in the discipline building have their schoolwork sent to them and must do it on their own.

This sub-system is open for suggestions and comments along with our goals.

((OOC: Infantry... ;) ))

We urge you to immediately abolish your school system.

Public schools are terrible, as the government has no threat from competition. Turn your schooling over to the private system, and your education and happiness levels will shoot up.

We also recommend that you slash taxes and not fund education, BUT, IF you really want to fund education, give a grant to EACH CHILD. That can go to whichever school they go to.

We are considering having semi-private schools with an official government curriculum in order to create more funds for facilities and the elite student programme. Elite schools however shall remain completely state funded as students for these schools are specially selected.

As for grants we are considering a partial scholarship programme for students with financial difficulties. Those with outstanding talent/Academic skills are transfered into the elite programme
