Being myself a consumnately unusual person, and a devotee of the fine art of olympic fencing, I looked at all these threads about soccer (or football for you sticklers) and thought "why, what we need here is a fencing organization!"
Therefore, if there are enough interested parties, I propose the formation of a NationStates International Fencing Federation (Federation International d'Escrime, F.I.E.) to hold periodical World Cup and Grand Prix fencing events in the three weapons of epee, foil, and sabre.
I don't know how many people are fencers/familiar with fencing on this site, but the FIE is the international body that administers the sport of olympic fencing. Being an American, I'm a member of the US Fencing Association (USFA) which administers the sport in the States. They organize regional events and North American Cups, and give out ratings to victors at local, regional, and national tournaments (A, B, C, down to E).
So, who's interested in forming a Fencing Federation and holding tournaments between your top competitors?
