ROFA Announces UN Application
Swansea, February 2, 2008
Today the Royal Office for Foreign Affairs, headed by High Lady Katherine Ashton, announced the Bergian application to join the United Nations. The decision was mada after carefully examination of all effective UN resolutions to make sure that they would not make extreme changes to the current administration policies.

"This is a mark in the history of Bergelland. For the first time we will be taking an active role in an international body such as the United Nations." Lady Ashton said. "We truly want to make the world a better place and we hope to be able to do so by joining the U.N."

Analysts said that this may signal a shift in the past Bergian trend of isolationism and xenophobia. Princess Ludmilla said that "This is the beginning of a new age in Bergian diplomacy. No longer will we remain unknown to the outside world."

Swansea, February 3, 2008
Following the official acceptance of Bergelland into the United Nations Organization today, at least a hundred protesters took over the streets of the capital to protest against the Theocracy. The protesters, allegedly members of the Christ's Revolutionary Army of Bergelland, marched towards the Royal Palace of Swansea, asking for elections. The situation escalated when Civil Protection agents converged at the scene in order to disperse the crowd. The protestors threw rocks and other objects at the policemen, who had to call in for reinforcements. When a riot van arrived at the scene, the protestors attacked the vehicle. The RSCP retaliated by firing tear gas and rubber bullets at the rioters. Five rioters were arrested and two were severely injured. A RSCP agent was wounded by a rock thrown by one of the rioters. The RSCP believes that there were around 120 rioters at the scene.

Princess Ludmilla issued a statement today that said "These so called 'soldiers of christ' are only trying to show a negative image of the country to the international communities. As we speak the Royal Service of Special Investigations is looking for the leaders of this movement and I assure you that these people will be bought to justice."
