Press Release from The Kingdom of Nintopolis

Nintopolis
07-01-2008, 20:11
Originally known as The Mushroom Kingdom, this proud and beautiful
land finally fell after Princess Peach, the monarch who ruled over
the kingdom, returned after being kidnapped for the 56th time that
year.

A group formed and quickly grew while the princess was away
called TRAP (Toad Rebels Against Princesses) who organised a
nationwide protest against the "useless, defenseless" monarch that
was Princess Peach demanding that she abstain.

After she refused, things quickly grew out of control. The castle
was attacked, bullet bills and bob-ombs being used as weapons.
Powerstars, the kingdoms primary powersource, were stolen and
destroyed causing trees and wildlife to die. The economy crashed
and coins of all colours (blue, red, purple and yellow) quickly
became worthless.

Just when things couldn't get any worse, Mario, the Princesses
right hand man, who often took time out from work to rescue the
princess, finally decided to resign as he was angry that all
he had ever received as thanks for his rescuing efforts was a
slice of cake.

With nobody to protect her, the Princess was once again captured
and since nobody went to rescue her, she was never seen again.
The toads celebrated, but with no leader, the kingdom was on the
verge of total collapse.

Just as hope seemed to have run out, Luigi, after constantly living
in Mario's shadow, bravely stepped up and formed a government.
The residents of the Mushroom Kingdom all agreed that he made a
very down to earth and competent King.

To remove Princess Peach from the memories of the residents
forever, a new name was drafted and a vote was taken. The name
Nintopolis was agreed and so the name was officially changed to
"The Kingdom of Nintopolis". The remaining powerstars were
gathered and reproduced to be used as a currency and the economy
soon began to grow again after trade restarted with the neighbouring
Beanbean Kingdom.
