IC: Max Harris sat in a room, watching several screens. All of the screens showed different areas. Max scanned each one, changing his gaze every few seconds. Everything had to perfect today. There was no room for error. It was feeding time for one of the captive animals. Although most of the creatures in the park roamed freely in large areas that were fenced of from each other, some creatures were kept in more of a zoo like area, with fenced areas just large enough to contain the creatures. These creatures were for the tour only. The real attraction was the reserve area. Max looked on in one of the Jungle area pens, where a young cow was placed in the pen. Max continued to watch as a large shape passed by the camera, and the sound of crunching bone filled his ears.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emily Fleck fixed up her dress once again. She felt incredibly nervous. She had done tours and things of that nature before, but this was the biggest project she ever participated. She felt like she would be the first thing need to grab people's attention. Although the reserve would certainly do that job. Emily checked up a small fact book she had about all of the creatures she might see during the tour. She had all the pronunctiations correct, and now she just waited for the guests to arrive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rick Breitenstine looked out the window of the plane that was taking him to the island. He was getting ready to go. He packed all of the things he had taken out, except his MP3 player. He put it on, and started listening to some Pink Floyd. He saw the island coming into site.

OOC: Everyone, post your arrival to a landing site. Once everyone is there, we can RP further.

The large yacht was able to hold four of the SkyCars, which is why the Lt. Col had chosen to take it to the island. On board was his Satellite Repeater for his phone, as well as a large amount of survival gear. Having read the book Jurassic Park, he was not willing to take any chances.

His Moeller Skycar lifted off, and flew towards the Island, where he was going to take the biggest tour of his life. The passenger seats had been removed to give him room for his bike and gear, allowing him to carry more then the aircraft usually allowed for him to carry.

"This is Alpha-Echo-2-3-9er requesting permission for a flyover of the island before a landing on the Helipad over."

Meanwhile, a large helicopter, an unarmed Mil Mi-24 Hind Helicopter moved in low over the island, the emblem of NOVA Corp. emblazoned across the side of it. As it approached, Eddie Carr laughed as he saw the Lt. Col.'s aircraft leave the ground. "So, the military did send someone here after all."

Turning toward the pilot, he handed the man a message from his pocket and gave him orders to send the transmission to the CEO via a secure channel.

"This is NOVA Corporation Helicopter, registry November-Alpha-4-5-Kilo, requesting permission to land, over."

Hector Vinceno Nelson hated this, but it was part of his experience, and it was only the fool or the liar that never listened to his own advice. Since he had always advised that his students observe as much as possible, he should do the same himself, and the aerial scan was an important part of gaining one's bearings. He nodded to the man standing towards the front of the plane, who in turn gave a thumbs up to the pilot.

The cue given, the pilot began the drop procedure. "Island Tower, Island Tower, this is Wing Dragon 9-4-Foxtrot. Permission to lay egg, repeat, permission to lay egg."

"Copy that 9-4-Foxtrot. Please be advised that we have other aircraft in the vicinity, and that the egg should stay in wind vector. Package has priority, other aircraft will be kept from north vector until package has landed."

The pilot gave the yank back signal to the jump master, who proceeded to push the red button next to him. The siren of the opening gate sounded, as the back end of the beast opened to the sky. The jump master, clipped to the fastening cable, began the five second countdown. At one, Nelson ran and threw himself into the open sky, falling away fast from the plane.

"Island Tower, egg has been lain. Repeat, egg has been lain."

Nelson held the beeper in his hand, waiting for the display to turn from yellow-green to a deep violet. Once it had done so, he hit the three point trigger, causing a canvas to erupt from his back. It quickly took shape, becoming a fixed wing structure similar to the hang-glider apparatus it was based upon. It was a recent development that had just been implemented as a replacement for parachutes, and the military was in the process of a total overhaul of all chutes in service.

The ride down gave Nelson a chance to scope the landscape, noting the borders of the jungle, what appeared to be an artificial sea enclosed in the island, and the plains that he was gliding over as he approached the buildings indicated by a beacon on his goggles.

As he approached, he veered off to avoid the helipads, instead circling around to slow his speed and fall as the wind that was formerly propelling him forward now pushed against him, causing the glider to push some air down. He still had to roll to prevent any injury, but it was a good landing, and it accomplished its purpose. He had arrived.

Max sat in the security center, giving commands and allowing the guests to be dropped off. After all this was done, he would have to do some security checks on the park gates, check the guests for any weapons, and then go out on th tour with them. It was going to be a long day.

Rick's plane landed, and he got out. He was still listening to the Floyd when he noticed somebody parachute down with a strange looking chute. Weird, he thought. The next thing he saw was a very attractive redhead who walked up to him and the man who parachuted down. "Hello, my name is Emily Fleck. I'll be your guide for the tour you'll be taking today. Very nice to meet you both." Rick smiled. "Nicce to meet you. My name's Rick Breitenstine."

The Hind pilot sent the communication to the central center. The Pilot received his return message, and handed it off to Eddie without reading it. Eddie began to laugh maniacally as he read it. Authorization to kill a field officer of The American Privateer.

His Hind landed and he stepped out as the helo returned to the air.

The Skycar flew over the island a few times, and returned to the main area in time to see the NOVA Corp Hind leave the area. Jason Strongarm let loose an elegant, heartfelt, and utterly unprintable rant as he moved his aircraft from flying to landing mode, and brought it straight down.

Stepping out, he turned to the young man in a mohawk and in-front-of-ear braids, and nodded stiffly. "Eddie Carr."

Eddie was shocked to see that it was Lt. Col. Strongarm, and stepped back a bit before he also nodded stiffly. His cousin was married to Strongarm.

As Nelson landed, he saw others arriving in the distance. Releasing the grip as he stood, the glider, known affectionately as the 'dragon wings' for the shape, went limp, becoming a dark green cloth. Nelson rolled it back into the harness, before trekking to the airpad where the others were gathering. Even as he walked over to a guy exiting a plane with a rock band shirt on, they were greeted by a bubbly red head that quickly moved off to greet others.

"Pleasure to meet you, Rick. Captain Hector Nelson, Arthurian Military," he said, by way of introduction. "Hope that girl is more attentive on the tour, or I'm skipping out first chance I get."

The Lt. Col. pulled out his bike, and placed it and his bag near his Skycar.

Lt. Col. Strongarm approached Emily and held out his hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Lieutenant Colonel Jason Strongarm of The American Privateer Marine Corps's Genetics Division. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Eddie Carr made his way over to the other group of people, trying to avoid his Cousin-in-law. He had a nervous look on his face as he approached them, bag slung over his shoulder.

"Hey, name's Eddie Carr. Who are you guys."

Looking out of the window, Anya instantly regretted doing so. She never enjoyed flying as she gripped the arm rest and closed her eyes again. Why did I look? Not only was she thinking about the sure plummeting death that could happen, she wondered: What about the sharks? That got her thinking about being devoured by hungry sharks, chomping her to pieces. After imagining all of this, the only thought that served as comforting was replacing herself in these vicious scenarios with her recently ex-boyfriend, Vincent.

Vincent worked in editing at the Worker's Report, the same news agency that Anya worked for as an investigative journalist. Their relationship lasted for about six months, then crashed when she discovered that he was doing some "late night investigations" with another journalist in Anya's department. Now, the two of them are sharing a hospital room. These new mental images helped to calm her and even caused a smirk to appear. Finally, the plane descended towards the island, touching down and causing Anya to clasp the seats even tighter.

Dammit, why did I take this assignment? Anya played it back in her mind and remembered that it was Chief Editor Jazjeck who suggested she take this out of the way but nonetheless important assignment till her nerves cooled. Covering a story like this was huge in scope and a historical milestone. Of course, playing God does come with its' fallouts. The Breitenburgian Prehistoric Reserve was massive in its' expenses and such. Her job was to take the tour, write about the research facility, and turn in the story.

Anya stepped off the plane with a backpack and her camera. She learned to stream line her gear and items she brought, this allowed her to be very mobile at a moment's notice. She clicked off a few shots here and there and began to walk, her long legs pumping to get away from the plane...

IC:

The T-39 Saberliner touched down on the runway, and slowed down. It taxied to the ramp, and stopped, and getting out of it was a man, six foot two, grizzled looking, with dark brown hair and light brown eyes, and a brown mustache that was medium brown. The man was Harry Johnston, sent by the Marine Corps Foreign Life and Bio division to check the dinosaurs out. He took the iPod earbuds out of his ear, which had been playing Eric Clapton's "Crossroads"

He entered the building, and looked around for the Guest Relations person, and he saw the red haired lady, and he approached her and he introduced himself "I'm Corporal Harry Johnston, from the Calizorinstani Marine Corps Foreign Life and Biology Division, I'm looking for someone from Guest Relations.."

"And off she goes..." Jason sighed as she walked off. "I wish my wife could have come on this trip, but noooo, she had to go and get pregnant. Oh well, I guess this means more time for my reading." The Lieutenant Colonel tossed the key to the jet to a guy from the air field, who caught it and hopped into the unfamiliar vehicle.

Jason slung his back pack over his shoulders, and turned to see a young woman with a camera. Smiling, he extended his hand to her, "Hello there, I am Lieutenant Colonel Jason Strongarm of The American Privateer Marine Corps, may I ask your name." His ring glinted in the light.

Eddie, meanwhile, was in deep. <More military types, geeze, how many are their on this island?> "Good to meet you Rick, may I ask you what company you work for?" Meanwhile, his own black shirt clearly bore the emblem of NOVA Corp.

So, you're a Capt. in the military huh?

Hector greeted Eddie before answering Risk's question. "Yeah. My home branch is the Army, but Arthurian military organization uses the different divisions mostly as training and personnel administrative bodies. The real work is done in inter-branch operations units. I'm a master-trainer in Wilderness and Field Survival. WilFiS, for short. And I'm beyond count on the wilderness meter. So, Rick, Eddie, what's the story for each of you?

We a massive conglomerate with fingers in Arms, Biologicals, Pharmaceuticals, Space Travel, Space Exploitation, and so on and so forth. Eddie couldn't help but feel annoyed as he watched still more military step off the plane. he already had to kill his cousin-in-law and make it look like an accident, but now he had these military types, who would try to prevent him from stealing the embryos.

"Well, like I said, NovaCorp is my Employer. And I think that they are trying to set up something similar to the system you are setting up."

John Malcolm had thus far gone unnoticed. He liked it that way. It gave him time to observe. He remained unobtrusively stationed just aside from the front entrance.

So many military personel... he pondered. This could get messy...

Though he had little experience with dinosaurs in particular, he was more than familiar with genetic constructs in general and had been trying to decide how they had done it ever since he boarded the plane. Hopefully, he would be able to acquire a sample or two. Dr. Rapture would certainly enjoy them, and it would help increase their gene pool. He pushed a finger at the bridge of his nose then flushed slightly in embarassment. He had only recently switched to contacts, and familiar manerisms died hard. Patiently, he waited for the tour guide to greet him, wondering if she'd notice him at all. His dark brown slacks and jungle green shirt did blend in with the decor. He pondered if it had been purposeful on the part of his subconscious to adopt such camouflage.

Nelson watched as the Nova-corp employee walked off, before looking at what he said was his cousin-in-law. Something didn't sit right with him, mostly the Nova-corp. affiliation.

"Well," he said, turning to Rick, "At least we've met our first official merc. Or as the politically correct call them, our first private security agent. I wonder what his relative is like?"

So saying, Nelson did. Approaching the other TAP-ian, he offered his hand and a smile. "Good morning. Capt. Hector Nelson, Arthurian WilFiS. I noticed the air-car. Pretty cool. Oh, and is that guy leaning on the building," Nelson pointed with his left thumb, "really your cousin-in-law?"

Jason looked over at the guy with a short mowhawk died in green and brown, and nodded.

"Yep, that's my cousin-in-law. I married into his family some five years ago. He still isn't happy with her for doing so, but what can I do."

Lowering his voice, he continued. "I would watch out for him on this tour. NOVA Corp has some Ultranationalist leanings, and though we haven't been able to pin anything down on them conclusively, we have reason to believe that they have been working to destabilize the current government in The American Privateer. His being here, and the track record he has shown in terms of his targets for sabotage, makes me believe that he is going to use whatever he gains here against either the Government or our enemies."

John cannot help but smirk and shake his head. Plots and political agendas, terrorists and sabatuers; no one seemed to appreciate what had been done here. Here was one of the few examples of human ingenuity and genius, the glory of human achievement, and most of its first visitors seemed more intent on what they could gain from it than what had already been gained by the entire human race. He heaved a soft sigh.

If only Dr. Rapture could have come... came his wistful ponderance. I'm certain she would have set these men straight. And it would be a much nicer tour with something really marvelous to look at.

His gaze and mind wander for a moment until a fluffy head of bright red hair appears in front of him, framing a cheerful face. He greets the tour guide, then returns to his stoic observation of the gathering of dic-... peni-... military brass and similar personel.

Hector nodded at the remark about Nova's less than stellar image. "The little intel that I've read on them is that they were a mercenary outfit 'of interest.' Never trained a TAP-ian in my Wilderness and Field Survival, so I don't think I've ever met one of their number. Besides, if they're as nationalist as you make it sound, I doubt they'd consider foreign influence positive."

Standing closer, Hector pointed off towards the sky, keeping his and Strongarm's backs to the angry relative, as well as lowering his voice to an inaudible level for any but Strongarm. "Do me a favor and watch my back. The man has already misrepresented Nova-Corp's nature, and he said that he had an unlimited contract for acquiring samples. I promise to keep an eye on yours."

"I doubt you would know if you had. They can be sneaky if they need to be. And while they are Ultranationalist, they don't mind outside influence if it means making them better able to kill both TAP'ians and 'Foreigners'."

As the man leaned in, he smirked. "You got it. If he gets the chance, he will acquire them and let them loose in Port San Lucas. And if that happens... Don't worry, I got your back. NOVA Corps wants me dead for my work on viruses and bacterium."

As the group mingled, a large, jeep like vehicle moved towards them. Emily looked over to see Max getting out of it. "Everyone, this is Max Harris, the head of park security. He'll be taking us to our first spot on the tour." Max nodded to them, always a man of few words.

John Malcolm quietly followed, offering a hand shake to the security chief. "I'll hope you're more capable than others who have held similar positions. From what I hear," he glanced back at those still inside, "Velociraptors are rather nasty critters." He gives a soft chuckle, only half joking.

Corporal Johnson followed Lt.Colonel Strongarm into the car, and he introduced himself "Corporal Johnson from the Cali Marine Corps Foreign Life and Bio Division, I presume you are Lieutenant Colonel Strongarm!" He saluted Lt.Col Strongarm.

Jason glowered at the corporal. "Son, do you see a uniform on me? No, that is because I am off duty. Therefore, you don't have to salute me. Geeze, Admiral Ray would have slapped me if I had saluted him while he was out sailing. Anywho, yes I am the Lieutenant Colonel. So, what has your department been up to?"

Eddie perked up at the response, and looked around at the Corporal. That would be an easy mark, especially if he was married.

Max turned to the other man who was talking to him. "We haven't had any accidents yet, so we're on a better record already. If you will all enter the vehicle, we will start the first part of the tour."

The Lieutenant Colonel looked highly speculative as he put it in the back, taking a moment to think about the animals that might be inhabiting the park, he dismissed the idea. After all, where could they have gotten a taste of Human Flesh, or gotten the idea that Humans were defenseless? Unless of course there had been an accident that they were not being told about.

Nelson groaned audibly when the young Corporal Johnson gave his over-enthusiastic introduction to Strongarm. This tour had all the earmarks of a long, arduous trip with people he wished he could distance himself from. The merc was one, and the kid was inches away from making that list as well.

Finding a seat next to a window, Nelson put his bag next to him, effectively isolating himself while he put on his earphones. They could drown out most surrounding noises, but if anybody started talking too loudly, then all he had to do was start singing about a "Ring of Fire" loudly enough to convince others to quiet down. He hoped it didn't come to that. He had a notoriously bad singing voice.

Harry Johnson decided, that the best way to repair relations was to be quiet for a while, and when he next introduced himself, be more serious. He decided to go back two rows to the far back, so that he would be able to listen to his iPod in peace, playing "Iron Man"

He noticed that Emily was next to him, and he sighed, and he took out his earbuds.

Jason waited for a nod, and then did so himself, "Now, if you are compelled to call me sir, fine, just don't use it too often. So, how did your people solve the problem of gene gaps?"

Jason rolled his eyes. "Kid, the reference goes toward me. One of the first things my First Sergeant told me when I took over the platoon, was that the enemy is always trying to kill officers. Therefore, soldiers do not salute in combat zones or areas where the enemy is present. Anywho, We have been using Avian DNA on the raptors we have been studying. All of them have developed feathers, and we are not sure as to whether or not that was supposed to happen. We had to scrap the entire project after they came down with some strain of the Bird Flu. We still don't know how THAT happened." Jason sighed and looked out the window.

Jason looked at the Hadrosaurs and gasped. He knew that he would be seeing the massive creatures, but the truth of it had not sunk into his brain. As he looked, he finally decided that he needed to actually see what their crests looked like.

Out of the corner of his eye, he also scanned for herds of Saurapods, expecting them to stay near the Hadrosaurs.

(OOC: In the Novel of The Lost World, Hadrosaurs and Saurapods travel together for mutual defense because while the Saurapods have lots of bulk, and their whip like tails, their senses suffer. The Hadrosaurs on the other hand have sharp senses and small bulk. It is similar to the Zebra and Girraffe in modern times.)

Eddie looked around at the large animals, and dismissed them. He was here to get the information to build predators, and these simple hadrosaurs where of no worry to him. As he thought that, he began to snicker. In a story, it was always the creature that had been dismissed that would kill the main character. And if he wasn't the main character in his own mind, than who was.

Hector was able to restrain any expletives at the mention of war and the risk of a killer in their midst. Still, at least they had forewarning.

OOC: very nice on the Distaste of Eddie Carr. Good to know I can create good villains. Oh, and Breitenburg, please kill him via stampede of Hadrosaurs. I will laugh very hard if you do.

The vehicle continued one across the fast plains. As they came up a hill, the group could see a variety of animals. A large herd of Triceratops were grazing, their numbers to large to count. A Brachiosaurus, one of the tallest sauropod (long neck) dinosaurs ever known was eating from the few large trees that dotted the landscape. The hadrosaur hard had reformed after the Deinynchus attack, and stayed near the Triceratops for protection. Farther off from the herbivores, an Allosaurus, the largest carnivor in th Plains Area, was chewing away at a stegosaur carcass. Max stopped the car a few hundred yards away from it. Jason was amazed. The Brachiosaur was actually grazing off the tops of the trees. The fact that this one was alone, when it didn't have it's cousin's long whip like tail for defense, astounded him. An animal like that should be relying on Herds for defense, especially because of the large predators. If it couldn't adapt its behavior to deal with large predators like the Rex or the Spinosaur, it could explain why they had gone extinct...

Watching the Hadrosaurs teaming up with the Trikes, he nodded his approval. His wife had commented on them teaming up with the Saurapods, but if maintaining a nest was a learned behavior, and the actions of the Hadros taking their young with them implied that it was, then staying near the Trikes, who where supposed to be very protective of their own young, made good sense.

Then, he caught site of the Allosaur, and tried desperately to find a camera. He knew that it might be gruesome, but he thought his daughter would be as obsessed with the Dinosaurs as he was, and he wanted to be able to guarantee that she would be able to see this. Suddenly he stopped, wondering where the rest of the Stego herd was...

Hector scrawled 'H V Nelson' out in a rather messy signature, but it was his John Hancock, though he had never really autographed one of his books before. "Glad your drill sergeants like it so much. Hope that they don't let you down."

"Me too."

Jason pulled out a sketchbook, and a pencil, and did quick, rough sketches of the sights. He knew that weren't the best, but they would have to do until he could find someplace to buy some disposable cameras.

Jason paused from his sketching to turn off the phone, and then got right back to work. Having gotten some good images of the Allosaur, he turned to the Ceratosaur. It was smaller than he expected. If he were to stand up, he was sure he could look it square in the eye. Compared to the Allosaur, it was just the right size to be able to push it away if it wanted to, and if the Allosaur was in a good mood. But the way it was hanging back...
