Ariddia was first settled about 3,000 years ago by Pacific Islanders of indeterminate (though possibly Polynesian) origin. These original settlers became the Wymgani, with their own unique culture and language. Over the next six or seven centuries, they spread throughout the Ariddian Isles.

Pre-colonial Wymgani history is perhaps most notable for the great journeys of exploration undertaken by Wymgani navigators, to the far ends of the globe. The thirteenth to early seventeenth centuries marked the high point of this era.

Ariddia’s colonial history begins in 1662, with the arrival of the first European explorers, followed by the first European settlers in the early 1670s, and by annexation in 1683.

The country became a sovereign republic in 1810, and, in 1985, elected a communist government led by Xavier Gris, who proclaimed the birth of the Social Republic.

Omigodtheykilledkenny was founded in 1785 by desperate pilgrims seeking to escape persecution by the bloodthirsty Killer Prostitutes of the fearsome Nath-Nath Death Cult in their home country, the name and location of which has since been misplaced. Led by gallant explorer Thor, the weary pilgrims eventually found the spacious and mostly unpopulated continent of Ameranta, and soon made contact with the mischievous Xt'Tapolopaquetl natives there. But after weeks of having to endure the natives' foolishness and practical jokes, Thor bravely led the pilgrims to defeat the mighty Xt'Tapolopaquetl on Feb. 11, putting down the native Emperor Cuauhtémoc and fiercely wedgying him and his followers. Thor then established the Federal Republic and named himself president.

Recent History

In 2000, following several terrorist incidents in Ameranta, the Federal Republic pledged itself to address the terrorist and WMD threats posed by the rogue, oil- and blood-soaked desert region of Valdesia. It invaded the hostile nation of Lois-Must-Die the same year, forcing regime change and holding elections, which resulted in the rise to power of another evil dictator, but a much more Ameranta-friendly one. For years, Omigodtheykilledkenny maintained a massive military presence in Lois-Must-Die, increasing its intelligence capabilities in the troubled region.

Three years after the Lois-Must-Die invasion, the Federal Republic expressed its intention to leave Ameranta if its left-wing founder would not halt its expulsions of nations it deemed too "dictatorial" for the "democratic" region. It did leave, cutting a deal with Valdesia's founder to realign much of its occupying forces in Lois-Must-Die in exchange for Valdesian real estate. A 2005 seismic catastrophe destroyed Valdesia and enveloped most of its nations, only a few escaping to an Antarctic refuge -- including the Federal Republic.

1888 BCE: Maraque established. The Nothandryuns, first original inhabitants of the continent of the same name, build the first permanent settlement on the continent, best known in current times as Vakira.

1435 CE: Foreign explorers arrive. The Nothandryuns learn to accept these new arrivals, showering them with luxuries unforeseen elsewhere.

1451 CE: European settlers arrive after word from the explorers gets back home. The Maraqueans feel a bit uneasy, but try their best to accept these new arrivals.

1675 CE: Interracial relationships cause a massive shift in the appearance of the country. Nearly 75% of all citizens are of two or more backgrounds. This causes a divide between dark skinned Maraqueans and the more lighter skinned Maraqueans.

1720 CE: Civil war breaks out between the two groups.

1728 CE: The war ends with a truce after the respective leaders of both groups meet and decide upon a peace agreement, creating the semi-autonomous region of Maraquean Corona.

1741: The monarchy establishes a democratically elected congress which consists of three levels of parliament, including the new position of President, who would be a largely ceremonial figurehead.

1988 CE: The Freedom Warriors, an anti-monarchy group, successfully launches their first attack on the capitol Vakira, killing 11,000.

2088 CE: Maraquean Corona is annexed into the empire after referendum finds most Coronites want to be a part of the monarchy once again.

2144: Population surpasses 6 billion, becoming the 16th most populated country in Atlantian Oceania, but becoming the 2nd best economy in the region as of 2144 NSEconomy Institute figures, which are released yearly.

Approx. 350 AD: Vetalia founded by settlers from an unknown mother country. It has been theorized the Vetalians are in fact related to the citizens of another major nation, with countries as diverse as Allanea, Crimmond, and ViZion suspected as the modern-day relatives of the Vetalian people.

700 AD: Vetalia's economic development reaches a turning point with the opening of several major trade routes in the region, and the first signs of plutolatry begin to emerge in its national culture.

876 AD: Vetalian colonists win independence from their parent nation, splintering in to a wide group of small city-states that will fight amongst one another with varying degrees of unity and disunity for the next 700 years. However, this time also sees the emergence of some of the first national-scale projects, including an intercity road network and the first flood-control systems on the Moldava River.

Approx. 1000 AD: Vetalian culture has diverged from its parent enough to be considered a completely separate culture. The first known writings about the specific rites and practices associated with wealth-worship emerge at this time, mainly from a negative external perspective rather than an indigenous Vetalian view. At the same time, the "country" (more accurately, the independently competing city states) begins to expand aggressively in to land and sea trade, further driving growth and development in the Vetalian economy, population, culture, and technology. This period also marks the rise of science and technology to prominence in the Vetalian culture, far earlier than many other nations; there is no church-science conflict simply because scientific progress is highly profitable.

Indirik was originally 4 nations; Chilar, Havik, Ferran, and Pitik. Below is how they united into one:

1895 - the Pitik Declaration of Independence. Though Pitik was part of Chilar, the Pitikians never cnsidered themselves Chilarian. The government of Pitik declared itself independent of Chilar, and Havik promised to support them.

1900 - the 5th war between Chilar and Havik. Chilar moved against Pitik, and Havik intervened.

This war stood out among the others because of the brutality. Both nations had vicious weapons and the will to use them. When the war ended in 1907 all 4 nations were badly damaged. Despite that, there were rumblings that Chilar was planning to go to war with Ferran because of allegations that Ferran had supplied arms to both sides.

1914 - The first peace attempt. Ferran managed to convince Chilar & Havik to work together on several important projects. However, it was short-lived.

1917- The 6th Chilar/Havik war. It's not clear how this one started. Some say that the Chilar representative insulted a Havikian's mother. This war wasn't as bad as the previous one, but it still lasted 2 years.

1925 - The nation of Ruzan declared war on Chilar. Ruzan was significantly bigger than Chilar, and though Havik had no love for Chilar, they knew that they'd be next, so they went to war against Ruzan. Ferran and Pitik soon followed. The 4 nations beat back the Ruzanian forces.

1933 - Chilar, Havik, Ferran, and Pitik joined into the United Nation of Indirik. Though they had several arguments that threatened to start the 7th war, they barely avoided that. Indirik has been one nation ever since, though there are still clashes between the 4 factions.
