Kiryat Shmona Airbase- 8:15 AM
20 miles north of the Ale-Yarok - All Israel frontier
It was during the early morning hours of a Friday morning that war commenced. The sun was already heating everything up around Kiryat Shmona airbase in Central Israel. Duty shifts were being changed, and some of the Israeli Alliance Defence Force soldiers were just making their way over to the mess hall to grab their breakfast when heavy artillery shells shook the earth. Fragments skittered over the runway, some reaching the barracks and puncturing the outer walls with significant holes. A follow-up bombardment, nearly five minutes later, saw advanced fighter jets drop in low to deliver yet another precision payload.
In the preceding few weeks, the Israeli Alliance Defence Force (IADF) had carried the brunt of native preparations for a war they had not wished for. All soldiers and air crews had been restricted to the base, and all leaves were cancelled. The base was on alert. In the surprise opening of the conflict, therefore, casualties were heavy.

Tel Aviv - Kirya Tower - 8:17 AM
South of Ale-Yarok
It was a pleasant, clear morning. The sort of morning when a man gets up and wonders how it can be that on a morning such as this a war can break out. Even as the the announcers voice on the radio read out the call signs designed to mobilize the reserves of All Israel, calmness prevailed in the streets. Morning traffic started flowing from the suburbs into the central city. Tel-Aviv was, after all, unused to scenes of war. With excellent public transport,a mildly-leftoid populace, tower flats and excellent gay bars, it was almost as Knootian as Knootoss itself.
Then the air raid warning broke through it all. The piercing wails announced the arrival of fighter jets, flying low along the Kvishey Ayalon highway; using the broad multiple-lane artery to slip past the skyscrapers and into the heart of the city.
Air defences started firing clouds of black death. Chop. Chop. Chop. One jet went down, burying itself in the morning traffic and sparking an inferno down below. Others continued towards the Kirya. The Military Headquarters of the Allied States was conveniently close to home for the Knootians; it was also the first target.
As missiles and bombs exploded, the military complex went up in flames. A bile of thick smoke wafted out from the base of the post-modern tower flat, and everything appeared fine. Fine, that is, until the whole structure collapsed on itself....

Knootoss - 11:03 AM Local Time
KNN World News - the first images to the world
A steady drumroll in the background perfectly synchronised itself with the moving KNN war-logo. It was a shiny new logo for a shiny new war, and for once it was Knootian journalists that caught all the scoops.
"..... the Prime Minister is yet to make a public statement about the formal declaration of war, but local government offices in Ale-Yarok have announced that our victory on the ground in Tel-Aviv wipes out all previous armistice agreements and frontiers in the Greater Palestine region.
Enthusiastic Arabic mobs were shown lifting an improvised Knootian flag over a nondescript office, the Mediterranean sun further enhancing the smiling faces of children and elderly men. The camera quickly panned away from a burning building in the background to zoom in on the flag.
"Local officials have been quick to reassure our Arab allies that the combined KDF and Ale-Yarok forces will do everything in their power to ensure equal personal and religious freedoms for all inhabitants of this ancient region. In response, several Arab factions have taken up arms and pledged full support for the peacekeeping efforts. In a coordinated multinational effort, local militias were successful in capturing the city of Bnei Brak from Zionist opponents to a peaceful settlement. Located in the Greater Tel-Aviv area, this large city of predominantly Haredi Jews is of strategic importance to the war effort..."
A three-dimensional geographical display showed the town of Bnei Brak as a black dot located between a sea of royal purple and diabolical red. Purple washed over the dot to place the new 'border' in the bottom right corner of the screen, before panning out to show the greater region. Little signs representing explosions dotted the map, showing earlier reported 'incidents'. Broad arrows suggested a simultaneous Knootian advance in all directions.
"And that victory is a swift, smashing and total one. Elite elements of the Knootian air force, infantry, artillery and tank corps work together with enthusiastic locals, sweeping into Central and Southern Israel while inflicting only minimal civilian casualties. KNN embedded journalists report that our troops are being greeted as liberators while occupying the road to Jerusalem...."

Out Of Character notes:
"All Israel" is a setting played jointly by the players of Knootoss, Pantocratoria and the Resurgent Dream. It takes place in "NS Israel" after it has ICly been abandoned by Western Asia when he stopped roleplaying. All Israel has a Jerusalem, a Bethlehem, and all the historical sites. It is inhabited by Jews and Arabs alike, who live in a single, weak Federal state. Tensions have been mounting between the different factions, providing an excuse for Knootian intervention.
Local politics and demographics are not necessarily the same as RL however and we will try to avoid mention of (non-biblical) Real Life events from recent history. Ale-Yarok, by the way, is a Knootian colony near Tel-Aviv in central Israel near the coast. It has been roleplayed as Knootian for a long time. (Over a RL year.) It has Knootian strategic nukes and bombers, as well as lots of pot-smoking hippies in kibbutz's.
All decent roleplayers are welcomed and encouraged to comment and respond to IC developments. However, if you want to do more than standing on the sidelines going "yay" or "booh" then please take it up with me OOC, preferably by contacting me on MSN or sending a telegram to Knootoss. We, the players behind All Israel, are not particularly hoping for people to send in their own 100,000,000,000 men invasion forces.
