(OOC to Ariddia, Since 2 records per country seem kinda limited, I'll have a competing one, but only for Sports.)

DOES YOUR COUNTRY HAVE SPORTING EVENTS?

IF yes, then odds are that you have some unsual records. Like a team that never won a match in league play or a player that scored 150 points in a basketball game. When the NSWiki comes back up, like Arridia, it will be put ion there.

The Following Catergories will be considered for inclusion:

TEAM RECORDS
Winning Streaks (Consecutive and/or single season)
Losing Streaks (Consecutive and/or single season)
Scoring Records (Most goals or points In a Match)
Draws (Consecutive and/or single season)
Victory margins (Most differential in goals or points In a Match)
Others (Biggest Improvement in record, most consecutive rivalry losses, etc.)

OOC: The wiki is back up, sort of, in "viewing only" mode (i.e., it can't be edited). You can find it here: http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/

The wiki has an (incomplete) list of Olympic records (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/list_of_olympic_records.html).

I have an incomplete list of Ariddian Olympic medallists (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/ariddian_olympic_medallists.html).

Here are a few Ariddian records or specificities:

* first person ever, of any nationality, to win a Summer Olympic gold medal:
Deirdre Khangal (Ariddia, cycling: women's road race: 2:44:53.36)

* only athlete with a disability ever to have competed in Olympic Games (of any nationality):
Mélanie Sandré (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/m_lanie_sandr.html) (Ariddia, swimming: women's 50m freestyle: Heats: 0:24.88 (54th overall - did not advance)). Mélanie Sandré has only one leg.

* only athlete ever, of any nationality, to have competed in both Summer and Winter Olympic Games:
Dong Yue Yan (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/dong_yue_yan.html) (Ariddia, judo and skeleton)

* only athlete ever, of any nationality, to have defected during Olympic Games:
Aey Mendez (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/aey_mendez.html) (Fbrenia, resident of Ariddia, defected to Casari; athletics)

* first country to have hosted the football World Cup:
Ariddia
Zwangzug

OOC: I'll reply or edit if I come up with anything more.

IC: Baseball has a rich heritage nationwide (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/baseball_in_zwangzug.html), but the comparatively short existence of the country's major league means that records are found in an (inexplicably) unchronicled (this may be rectified soon) past. There was little organization to the schedules of the teams below: many drifted in and out of "top-level" play.

Longest winning streak: 19 games, Weegham Zephyrs: May-June 1959
Longest losing streak: 13 games, Capital Senators: August 1975
Most lopsided game: Merano Lions 21, Bangkok Beavers 0: March 13, 1906

Football's first timid forays into Zwangzug, on the other hand, have led to some amusing consequences. The Bendahir Middle School 8A team enjoys some semblance of notability for being shut out in twenty consecutive competitive matches, with a season in their conference lasting merely seven. Beginning with a 3-0 loss in the fifth game of one season (that followed a 1-0 win), the streak ended in a 2-1 defeat almost three full years later. Sarthak Volla scored that goal. The Serpents drew four of the matches.

(IC)Sporting Records from Qazox:

Most consecutive wins (individual): (Active Record) 569 championships/2845 wins by Mr. Lonnie de Farr of Iguana de Mia. Mr. de Farr has won 569 straight weekly chess tournements since starting his streak on January 9th, 1922. In Iguana de Mia, a weekly chess tourney has been held since 1820, and Mr. de Farr entered his first on January 2nd, 1922 and finished 2nd. Ever since he has not lost a tourney or a match, going 2845-0-0 during that span. Mr. de Farr has declined to participate in the Monthly and Annual Iguana de Mia Chess Championships as well as the Qazox National Championships during the streak.

Most consecutive Losses (team): 174 Games/54 OT games by the Pika Central High School Hockey team. From January 2, 1915 to February 15th, 1923, the Fighting Fish of PCHS lost every Hockey match they played. The streak started with a 0-1 loss to North Pika Tech, and continued until February 15th, 1923, when PCHS beat Central Fromburg High School 3-1, to snap the 8+ year streak. During the streak, the team also lost 54 consecutive Overtime games, also a record.

Most Consecutive Draws (Football teams): 5 three times: Graverville (QFL 1903), Lorax City (QFL 1904) and San Guano (QFL 1905). Interestingly enough this accomplishment was done in three consecutive seasons, and each team's streak included a draw with FC Fromburg.

Most Lopsided Result (Basketball): 170-22 (+148 pts) In the first round of the 1927 Qazox High School Basketball Tourney, 17-1 and #3 seeded Qazox City Catholic High School defeated unseeded 2-15 Lakeview High School of Graverville by the final score of 170-22. This and three other matches durign this tourney all were decided by at least 100 points. The QHSAA (Qazox High School Athletic Assocciation) changed the tourney format from an open one (in which every team could participate) to a 24 team tourney, with the spots going to the 24 conference champions.
