Religion of ShogunKhan, The spread of Wonderful War

We aim to share with our allies the benefits of our religion. We are willing to send out our Wawis to each of your lands to convert the brave and to transform the weak into the brave. A Wawi is similar to your priest/missionary that goes out and teaches the proper way to live. It is a shortened form of Warrior of Wisdom, hence a Wawi.

Wawis teach among other things, martial arts, small unit tactics all the way to grand strategic thinking. When to use and when not to use techniques. The first religious book that we offer to our new converts is the Book of the Righteous Warrior, here is an excerpt from Chapter 4, Paragraph 17 and Verse 12 from the Tarkhan Translation (the TT): "While a warrior stands, the warrior will not let others impose their way unto him or her."

The first trainings for the new convert is called the Wawa, this is short for the Way of the Warrior. Martial arts of empty hand techniques, deliberate weapons techniques (similar to your kenjutsu and fencing), impromptu weapons techniques (picking up any object that is not designed as a weapon), sweeps/locks/throws techniques (pressure points), throwing and distance weapons techniques (similar to your archery and darts), firearms and other modernized personal weaponry techniques; these are all taught to the student as he also undergoes religious transformation so that his mind does not remain corrupted in weakness and strike out at anyone based upon the fear that the weak always feel.

Hope this is an adequate introduction for you to accept our Wawis to teach the Wawa in our Obsdevars (similar to your dojos and training rooms) (Obsdevar is short for Obstacle and Development Area). May we come to your countries and build some Obsdevars?

"One must understand the other and all of his or her ways of being and of doing so that the warrior may surpass the other in their way as well as with the warrior's own way." 78-2-3 (Chapter 78, Paragraph 2, Verse 3) TT (The Tarkhan Translation) of the Book of The Righteous Warrior (Botrwa).

So we use the above in the following manner 78-2-3 TT of Botrwa and our children can recite the entire passage properly. The TT is the easiest translation and is used for the children and new converts. Some gifted children can quote up to 3 different translations of the entire book. One child was reputed to have 7 of the more difficult translations known by heart when he was only 7 years old, but this was about 311 years ago and before the TT was even invented.

Pt4, 2-1-15 TT of Botrwa: "If oration skills can win a battle without lifting a sword arm then use it with joy for you have created an ally out of the destruction of your enemy."

One of things I forgot to mention is that the book is also further divided into parts and in volumes. If it is not noted then it is considered the first volume and the first part. Most of the quotes are taken from the 1st volume and the 1st part which is what the children and new converts must memorize. But the other parts of the first volume or the other volumes themselves are more specialized topics and/or commentaries of previous texts although a few are believed to be commentaries on future texts that have yet to be written.

The evidence for this is based upon the fact that aspects of using nuclear ballistic missiles in submarines in combination of orbital satellite communication were written approximately 1000 years ago and it was only recently understood as new technological realities inspired strategic commentaries which completed the initial 1000 year old texts. This discovery was uncovered approximately 12 years ago and I remember having read the original 1000 year old texts trying to decipher the wisdom and it all made sense when I read the modern commentary on the newer technology.

Perhaps if we introduced ourselves as a philosophy, much like a sportsman engages in the sportsman ethics. Only a person who is passionate in the sport will bother to learn the proper etiquette within that sport. And only someone who shows the passion to learn its philosophy will be coached by the best instructors.

If everything is satisfactory, we may send our missionaries to promote our message but to not offend anyone's sensibilities we may call them martial arts instructors offering training in physical health. Within 2 generations we will be able to use the proper terms in public without anyone being offended.

Fear is weakness, no matter who is receiving the emotion. 2-72-11'13 TT of Botrwa states: "Stand with honor and even if a weapon cut you down, you will live; so what does the warrior have to fear from others? (12) All you can get from fear is paralysis of action and that leads to death. (13) Be honorable and live forever with the other honorables, be fearful and die alone with all the other fearful who hide from everything."

We must also note that when a quoted passage is more than one verse we note it as we did in the above quote. We welcome any comments and questions from the curious.

Since the introduction of Wawaism to Evoinia, it has risen to about 12%, the largest religious group in the nation, saith the Ministry of Statistics.

As such, Wawaism has been given full rights and funding under Evoinian Law (we support all organizations equally).

Personally, as a Wawaist myself, I can only hope we continue to grow world-wide.

- Zabian Fedansic, Evoinian Commisar of Defence.

As well, I would congratulate our friends in ShogunKhan for all their successes.

- Dr. Maximillian Renault, The Right Honorable Vice-Commisar of The United Socialist States of Evoinia, Speaker of the Evoinian People's Grand Soviet and Ambassador of The Progressive Allied Union to the Socialist, Democratic and Liberal Nations of the World.

72-11-153 TT of Botrwa: "If any refuse to receive your wisdom, then move on because they have no wisdom to offer either."

Some seem threatened by the offer of new knowledge but this is only a result of fear of the unknown. It is great intellectual gymnastics to teach and to learn from each other.

7-99-3 TT of Botrwa: "Let go of your fear and grow stronger in the release."

There are some who act strong because they are really afraid of the chaos in the world. Sometimes they act like bullies and they believe that they can be protected by thumping their chests. In these situations, it is polite to let them blow their steam while being firm in your position. Much like children, you let them vent their tantrum. Once they are exhausted, you can reach them and allow them to learn that tantrums are not efficient forms of communication. If they attempt to lash out, then use more firm techniques of persuasion. Because they have overestimated the value of their strength and underestimated your resolve, they will be thrown easily and become even more exhausted.

See the bullies like snow falling everywhere and see yourself as the strong tree. Yes they may be more numerous and may also have greater mass than you as a single tree but they can only throw unto you as what your branches can receive, not more. Your choice is to allow the bully to dictate the rules of his tantrum and allow the snow to overwhelm you to break your branches or you allow your branches to bend changing the rules to your favor and watch the snow fall in a thump while you are still standing.

7-23-15 TT of Botrwa: "Denial of reality is based upon fear of the unknown. The fearful prefer to think they are in control so they rely upon their inventions, their shadows of reality. Shatter those with force and see them pounce against the first thing they see which will probably be something you hold dear."

Some nations would rather not have to face the music and thus they block their ears. Some rely upon technology and create ear muffs and sound proof rooms to live in. We can not deny that their inventions offer some benefits. Unfortunately, if they claim that there is no music and they rely upon their inventions as proof, then you would do better to allow them their illusion. When they are ready to mature into adults, they will venture out and meet the world without fear and we shall be there as equals sharing what we have discovered.

Force the child out of this comfort zone and the child will become as chaotic as he or she believes the world to be and who knows what this can result in?

Following the Wawa means to constantly perfect one's art and at the same time to evolve it. To use examples from the "real world" (a collection of myths that many in these forums like to refer to on occasion), Bruce Lee had perfected his art in a specific style of kung fu. He discovered the flaws because he was skilled enough to discover them and he borrowed from other styles to create Jeet Kune Do. There is also a family called the Gracies who borrowed from other styles and modified a style called Ju-jitsu.

These blendings are exactly what our Wawis seek to create, naturally there are specialists in specific forms because they wish to concentrate upon a tradition for the love they feel toward it, but the primary task is to have the best possible blend.

When we send out our Wawis to teach the Wawa to all who welcome us, we also look into the martial arts of the area and find ways to blend it with our own. That is why following the Wawa makes you a better warrior.

Some may wish to become a Wast (Warrior of Stealth), this is a more elite soldier and they are able to infiltrate any location. The Wast is more about gathering information than by engaging in the fight. This is difficult for many, because most have the patience of a lion and wish to pounce, while the Wast must become more like the mist and flow smoothly and sometimes avoid combat.

Those who show the right aptitude to continue onto higher studies have two options open to them.

The first option is to become a Wast (Warrior of Stealth). A Wast is selected if one can show extreme patience during their training. It is not unusual to see students selected because they were able to stay motionless for a minimum of 24 hours. The Wast is not easily provoked. The primary mission of the Wast is to be invisible and to observe and if necessary to strike at the perfect moment. They are similar to the ninja and the yogi who can control one's heart rate and other autonomic bodily functions. As a result they can also lull an opponent into a sleepy hypnotic state by inducing a slowdown of an opponent's heart rate to make the recipient much more relaxed. They can also induce an opponent to be edgy and strike without thinking exploiting the opponent's fears.

The second option is to learn small unit tactics and to work in small groups instinctively without the need of establishing and enforcing a command structure. In a small group, it is readily apparent to the trainee what his teammates strengths and weaknesses are without needing to get into lengthy discussions about who has what rank or what skill. This is specifically useful when meeting in an impromptu fashion and needing to get into battle quickly with a minimum amount of time. There is constant competition between small groups made up at random and there is also training schemes that allow everyone to try out different positions to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of different positions. Another training scheme allows two groups to confront each other in an asymmetric battle. The competition would be similar to capture the flag using martial arts, or rugby using sweeps and throws, or paintballing with multiple vehicles and weapon styles.

These two options are usually limited to military or security personnel of a host government unless the government allows its citizenry to learn these advanced tactics. It has been our experience though, that foreign governments who host our Wawis and our Obsdevars are a little nervous about letting their citizenry learn more advanced forms of the Wawa. For this reason, we allow our host to set limits as to what we teach within their borders.

If anyone else, likes to have Wawa soldiers, you can list yourselves here. Anyone who wishes to attack or defend can then refer to this thread to see what his chances are of winning. If you are following the Wawa, you will obviously have superior soldiers to the non-Wawa. Imagine soldiers who fight hand to hand and one has a black belt in karate with several years experience in real streetfighting against someone who is non-Wawa who only took one week of hand to hand training in boot camp and has never been in a real fight.

For small unit tactics, imagine how regular non-Wawa soldiers spend their weekends, they go partying and then they go sleeping with beautiful women, while a Wawa soldier spends his weekends playing paintballing sports to keep his skills honed and improved, and at night he celebrates his religious victories with lots of drinks and the beautiful women come to sleep with him.

For strategic minds, the non-Wawa, spends his time filling out bureaucratic paperwork and getting bogged down with statistics, while the Wawa spends his time playing abstract games like chess, or detailed wargames like Advanced Squad Leader or Advanced Third Reich.

So it becomes very obvious who would win between a Wawa force and a non-Wawa force if both sides are equal in equipment (which is why some battles the Wawa force gave up their equipment to make it more challenging when they faced the poor unskilled non-Wawa... and the Wawa force still won 11 times out of 13)

If you are Wawa trained and you are attacking another Wawa trained army, then it will be a battle among friends and both sides will enjoy drinking together in the afterlife for having used their skills bravely against each other. Imagine, you are fighting for your life against your friend in a wonderful duel and he dies, you thank him for his challenge that allowed you to improve your skill and you continue fighting others, and then you die. Well you both end up in the afterlife as friends enjoying great drinks and all the women are beautiful and willing! What can be greater than that?

There is a secret conspiratorial group who keep an eye on those who train in the Wawa. If the trainee shows a high aptitude in the Wawa as well as the philosophical knowledge to be able to embody the Wawa, this group finds the trainee and offers him the opportunity to join their ranks. They are called the Huco, Hunters of the Corrupted, and their task is to eliminate any who have perverted the Wawa or have neglected the lessons learned from the Wawa and wish to live in fear or to encourage others to live in fear.

No one knows how many Hucos exist, even the Emperor is unaware of their numbers because they are a conspiratorial group that are found everywhere like the humidity in the air of the jungle or like the dust in the air of the desert. The Emperor himself must maintain the ideals of the Wawa and serve his population as a wise ruler for their benefit or else the Huco will visit him and it shall be the last thing the Emperor hears the "hue" sound of a projectile or a blade swishing through the air and the "koe" sound of the impact upon a deadly area of one's body causing instant death. The population must also respect the chain of command and the hierarchical structure based upon merit or else they may also encounter the swift justice from the Huco. There is debate as to whether or not the targets of the Huco end up in paradise or not.

The Huco only targets someone who is proclaiming to be following the Wawa and acts differently than its ideals. Non-practitioners have nothing to fear from these "boogeymen". The desire to not disappoint the Huco is on every Wawa practitioner's mind so they constantly strive to be the best possible Wawi they can be. But no one fears the Huco, for to fear them is to admit that one is not following the Wawa and this has deadly consequence if it is not remedied promptly. The Huco is admired and secretly envied because they embody intellectual expertise coupled with wise application and perfected martial skills. Other religions may confuse them with angels or messengers of the divine but the Huco is bodily born, just transformed through rigorous application of the Wawa.

To: the Government of ShogunKhan; the leaders of Wawaism
From: the Imperial Government of Tagmatium
Re: the Spread of your Philosophy

The Imperial Government has decided to allow a delegation from the Empire of ShogunKhan’s philosophy of Wawaism to the Greater Holy Empire of Tagmatium, in order to foster relations between the two nations. Although Wawaism is reputed to improve a nation’s soldiers, the Imperial Government will not be attempting to introduce its soldiers to Wawaism, as the Greater Holy Empire, although strictly speaking a Christian nation, prides itself on freedom of religion or philosophy of its citizens.

However, the Imperial Government might be interested in some sort of exchange between practitioners of the combat art of Tagmatium, Spartharios (more information to be found here) (http://z7.invisionfree.com/Europa/index.php?showtopic=2592&view=findpost&p=3715395) and those of Wawaism, or some other arrangement which the government of ShogunKhan finds agreeable.

OOC: Sorry, poor post. Got distracted too many times. Might have to re-write it tomorrow.

But of course we agree in exchange! We are required to learn and improve our skills and sometimes we find innovations in other cultures. We blend into our blended form and we also learn to master the other culture's form so that nothing is lost in the practice.

We have noted that some martial artists never wish to look into other forms because they believe their form is the best. We do not see it that way, our form is the best BECAUSE we deliberately seek the other forms and hence learn from them and blend them into our blended form. So the more forms we learn from the more we can improve our blend, and we graciously teach our friends what we learn so that we have challenging competitors when we seek to compete and improve our skills with ourselves.

We compete against ourselves first and foremost and sometimes this can only be done with a partner. Whoever loses in a competitive fight usually wins more in knowledge or skill acquisition, and whoever wins in a competitive fight usually has to learn from both sides to improve his skill. It is a symbiotic relationship, one needs the other to improve in the skill.

The nation is governed by Emperor Ceasar with his council of advisors. The Empire has sent out many colonies as a way to expand peacefully in the NationStates world. The primary objective is to spread the religion of the Wawa (Way of the Warrior), this activity is called Spreading Wonderful War or Spwowa (since pronunciation is problematic for non-native speakers, it is commonly referred to as the Wawa. The secondary objective is to make alliances with the different nations found in the specific regions in which the colonies have established. Historically, there have been some huge belligerent nations who have attempted an invasion upon the Empire and it was only thwarted by the aid of an even bigger ally who had been attracted to the concept of the Wawa. This convinced the Emperor that to avoid bullies, one must belong to a social grouping.

Social groupings approached first are the ones that have friendly relations with ShogunKhan's home region, The South Pacific. The next ones approached are the ones that have friendly nations who have expressed interest in the Wawa. The last regions approached are the ones that have the bully nations within them, these last regions are approached for colonization in the hopes that the bullies become interested in the Wawa themselves thereby transforming them into wiser warriors and potential allies in the Spwowa.

It is a very centralized government structure with tribes ruled by Kings or Colonial Rulers who take direct instructions from the Emperor's council. The instructions cover broad strategic outlines of what is needed and the provincial Governors and tribal Kings and colonial Rulers have complete leeway as to how to best proceed with the Emperor's wishes. If any overstep their bounds, the Emperor has the option to replace anyone. Colonial Rulers have the added benefit that they can be more independant minded and can even engage in war against the mother country to help hone the skills of the troops involved. There is a differentiation between a war amongst friends and a war against enemies.

War amongst friends is a great honor shown between friends, it is like a large group of friends who divide themselves up into two sports teams to play the sport, except that this sport has deadly consequences. The belief is that whoever dies on either side will be in paradise drinking profusely with each other (even if they were trying to kill each other moments before) and making love with members of the opposite sex as often as they want. They take this battle seriously, because the winners hone their warfighting capabilities and learn from mistakes and the losers have an eternity of bliss for having fought with bravery and contributed to the acquisition of the Wawa.

War against enemies is done in a slightly different methodology, first of all the enemy is usually the one who has mistakenly started the war because there is always the attempt to calm the fearful into compliance to the Wawa. Much like martial artists walk away from fights, the Empire tries to avoid the fearful who strike out against others based upon fear and feelings of inadequacy. Exceptions to this is when an ally is targetted or if a nation demonstrates a high sense of immorality, as in indiscriminate killing of its own population. Enemies are not usually given any chances and when an enemy is defeated, their bones are ceremoniously transformed into ShogunKhan currency, at least this way the enemy has managed to contribute something positive to the world. Fallen friends will never be subjected to this treatment, instead at the end of the war, both sides will get together and celebrate the fallen soldiers. The ones, who days before were attempting to kill each other as best as they could are both sharing anecdotes and comparing notes while respecting their fallen brothers who are having an even better time in paradise.
