WorldVision 4: The National Qualifiers [RP thread]

Kura-Pelland
22-11-2007, 13:17
Up to sixteen nations will descend upon the Kura-Pellandi capital city Trilan for arguably the biggest musical event in the multiverse, the fourth WorldVision Song Contest.

They will join the host nation in friendly competition, offering musical joy (or pain, to some, perhaps) to a huge global audience.

But who will be delivering that musical experience exactly?

That is in the hands of the nations themselves.

In this thread, each participant is to mention their song (artist and title). It cannot be a cover; it can be a parody if there are substantial changes to the original song. Their RP should mention how the song was selected - on a televised national contest, as happens IRL in many countries? Chosen by a jury? Appointed by some political figurehead, or in other shady circumstances? It's up to you. It's your nation. Make it fun.

The following nations are participating:

Alexandrian Ptolemais - The 52, Peter Montgomerie
Bazalonia - Back In It Again, Out Of The Hat
Khenas - Perpetual Love, Salenja Tasnike
Kura-Pelland - Voice of Hope Within, Katherine West
Magnus Valerius - Sick With Love, DJ Isan featuring Viktoria Isanderova
Mallatarsland - Survival Song, Desborough Donkey and the Donkettes
Popay - We Know No Bounds, The Fashion Police
Schnitzelfest - Summer Love, The Sirens
Scotchpinestan - Crying Accomplishes Nothing, Laura Simons
Sorthern Northland - Hard To Score, Lo-Fi
Swilatia - It's Not Fair, The Group
Wentland - Look At My C**k, Willie and the Winkers
Wijaska Island - Vampire Lord, Random Worlds
Zwangzug - Happy Boredday, Pi a la Modre

This thread will be updated with the song titles as nations post here.

"So we're off to Kura-Pelland for the Worldvision Song Contest? Exciting stuff huh?"

"Yeah if you say so."

"Kura-Pelland? Where do i recognise that name from?"

"They're hosting the World Cup as well."

"Oh really? Well why don't we got the football team to do our song seeing as they'll be there? I mean it'll save on hotel and flight fees, we won't have to pay them again."

"Again? What do you mean again?"

"Well we've already payed for the hotels and flights to Kura-Pelland for the World Cup."

"Why? We havn't qualified for it, we're not likly to qualify for it and it's a long way off.

"Yeah I know but the teams started really well, we're second at the moment you know."

"Yes I know, and we've beaten a team thats only just starting playing football and a team that is of a similer rank to us, and then lost to one of the teams that is commonaly reckoned to be a lot better than us."

"What do you suggest then?"

"We do what most other nations do, and find some people that actually have a bit of musical talent and then have a contest between them to let the public decide who should represent them."

"Ok, fine have it your way, but i'm telling you the football team doing it would have been a lot cheaper and would win."

"No it woudn't, even if they did qualify we might be playing our games in Vephrall, the other co-hosts.

And so the finals of the "Z-list" factor are over and the winning erm, talent? are on their way to Kura-Pelland for World Vision 4. Desborough Donkey and the Donkettes are looking forward to singing their way into the History Books.
There is one slight worry and that is the Animal Passport has been a bit slow being issued and we are hoping that the Quarantine Laws allow the animals to enter the country.

So, Desborough Donkey and the Donkettes will be singing the "Survival Song"

Please stay tuned as more will follow when we get a final update.

"And welcome back to the Singing Bazalope after a brief Hiatus we've returned to bring the nations top singing reality television show back to you, as the WorldVision tournament is just around the corner, winners of this competition will recieve their own music contract as well as being winning a first class trip all expenses paid to Kura-Pelland to perform in the 4th WorldVision contest."

"Tonight we have a number of competitors, so let's get into it..."

Street Grunge - A garage band with a difference, ... they're a string quartet with vocalists.

Frank Hillalyi - Mixing persian musical influences with more traditional lyrics Frank is a site to behold.

The Living Quarters - One of the more traditional rock groups, but one of the few better ones.

Out of the Hat - A comic muscian, however despite his comedic-stylings he seems to be quite popular anyway.

((OOC: Yes, this was originally our NSVision qualifier post, but since that never happened, I decided to re-use it here - especially since I never decided a winner before.))

The national final features five acts hoping to represent Scotchpinestan in the Worldvision Song Contest. And the event has its fair share of controversy.

The acts:

- The Banjo Men, who narrowly missed qualifying for the last Worldvision contest with "Grab Some Alcohol", got to the final five here with "Red-Haired Woman".

- Rocakbilly/swing band Five Squares come ready to rock with their hit "Let's Make Some Love Tonight".

- Laura Simons, the youngest finalist at 16, had wowed the judges in earlier rounds with her range and piano-playing prowess. Her song for the finals is a song not yet released to the public, titled "Crying Accomplishes Nothing".

- Singer-songwriter Jesse Granger-Murray advanced with his hit "Simplicity".

- And the fifth finalist, and the most controversial one by far, is rapper Malik Terry. He has advanced to the final with his song "Shine".

Terry's inclusion in the final five has stirred up a lot of debate. Many have questioned whether a rap song belongs in this competition. But the Scotchpine voters have advanced him this far. Still, it is unclear how much support he really has.

Terry held a press conference in the week prior to the final to defend himself and his song: "The reason why they call it a song contest is because our songs are competing against each other. It's not about me, it's about 'Shine'. I wrote all the lyrics, did all the arrangements...and it's a song that gives a message, a message of hope. That's what this contest is about: the lyrics, the message. It shouldn't matter what style the song is being performed in; if you just read the lyrics without knowing it was hip-hop, I think it's clear that my song belongs here in the final. And hopefully the fans will agree and allow me the honor of bringing this song to Kura-Pelland."

Scotchpinestan's major entertainment magazines are all predicting that Terry will win. However, there is a report that supporters of some of the other acts are trying to convince the other acts to band together somehow to try and defeat Terry. It's not clear exactly how such an arrangement would work, but the rumor of it happening should certainly add intrigue to the final.

So I see all the other countries are starting to look for a song... I think we should choose our song now or something.

Choose our song?? What do you mean by that?

Well, we did enter this year's WorldVision song contest didn't we?

Yeah, and...

We now need to go through all these videos and select a song to represent us in the contest.

Okay and how do we do that?

I don't know. I guess you just go through all these entries and find one you like. It was your idea to enter the contest anyway.

By the gods, this is going to take me at least a week to go through all this. We should have made some national contest, like the Swilatians always do...

Just pick a song already!

Hey, don't rush me! I haven't even open the first video yet

Then open the video, at least then we'll have one down.

Alright... It says "Love me or Leave me"

Okay, CLICK THE LINK ALREADY!!!

(video plays)

That was the worst thing I have ever heard. Please tell me they won't all be this bad?

There's only one way to find that out.

And that would be...

TO OPEN THE NEXT VIDEO! DUH!

Fine, just clam down...

"Do I even want to know who won this thing?"

"Doesn't matter, because we're live with the results. In eight place, Benny Angle with "Hurricane and Drought"."

"..."if we don't cancel each other out?" Does this guy ever shut up?"

"Evidently not. In seventh place, "Snow Day", by Kelsey Sleeth."

"Another overly cheesy female who's going nowhere. Next!"

"In sixth...Taylor Steele's "Pseudorandom Harvest"."

"How did five acts finish in front of this? Steele's halfway decent!"

"Holding out for NSVision, I suppose."

"I guess. In fifth, "Corny Topia", from Arnesh Madhusoodanan. I'll admit, I was afraid the political correctors would push him higher."

"Oh, you'll love our fourth place finishers."

"Will I now?"

"It's The Idealizts, with the "I Wish Jig". I'll just turn on the bleepinator now, then..."

"...yes, I'm ready to announce the third place finisher."

"Okay then, go ahead."

""Against the World", by Guitar Heroin. I'm sure they were trying to score as highly as they do everything else."

"In second place: the Eccentric Musical Oddballs."

"Performing one of the tracks from their critically-acclaimed Self-Titled Album?"

"No, actually: they just left a note on their blog for the fans to vote for them, promising that they'd come up with something "creative" once they got to Trilan."

"We underestimated the online contingent, I guess. But if they didn't win, who did?"

"Pi a la Modre, performing "Happy Boredday"."

"...All right then. It could have been worse."
Alexandrian Ptolemais
25-11-2007, 11:14
Thomas Henderson was sitting in the little office that the Alexandrian Ptolemais Music Association had provided for him in Ptolemais, and he was having a brief conversation with his assistant

"I hope that we have not been forced into the lions den you know; I'll never forget what happened the last time that we entered into the WorldVision competition"

"I know, I know, court cases, accusations of racism, goodness knows what else. The fact that we have stuck together and survived this is something - and at least we will get to go to, what was that place called again?"

"Kura-Pelland - for once I actually remembered a blimmin place name"

"Anyways, we have been decked out with fine accomodation, decent facilities and Channel 5 will also be broadcasting some of it back, so it is much better than last time. We apparently will be getting a five hundred Gold Denarii daily allowance."

"Wow - the association must be loaded; ah well, I suppose it is time to review the songs"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Channel Five's EmpireVision finals. It has been a long four-hundred weeks, but we are finally down to two contestants. We will introduce you to those contestants shortly and outline their songs.

First constestant is Peter Montgomerie from Phoenix Farm on the West Coast of New Munster Island, and his song is called The 52. The 52 is about a guy that somehow gets attracted to a girl on the 52 Tram.

Second constestant is Valerie Smoke from Leigh on the Western Part of Northern Island, and her song is called Sinking Alexandrian Ptolemais. Sinking the Empire is about life in the more tropical parts of the Empire.

The votes are in. Peter Montgomerie, thanks to a last minute push from Ptolemais managed to haul in 1,560,234,900. Valerie Smoke, unfortunately, did not get the number desired and closed off with 1,345,897,012 votes. Ladies and Gentlemen, join us in wishing Peter Montgomerie luck in the upcoming WorldVision competition, which will be covered live from 3am on Saturday.

Ugh, while the hell do all the songs have to be so crappy?

Well, there were at least a few slightly decent ones if you remember

It's not about that. I about that these people thing that with their low-quality songs they think they are worthy of representing our great nation in this contest.

Well, then if it makes it easier, cross all those out. Your list will get a lot shorter, and we might actually get somewhere already.

Alright, we have about 19 songs down now. Do I still have to click the rest of the links?

If we want to be in the want to be in the contest, yes.

Do I have to click ALL those links?

What do you think? How else are we going to find a good song.

Fine, I'm clicking on entry #22 right now. But i'm betting it's going to suck like all those other songs

Well, if it does suck, cross it off your list. It will make this go faster.

Yes, but you know what would make this go even faster: If I didn't have to listen to any of the really crappy songs. No time wasted on stuff that won't reach the contest anyway.

Um okay... Now will you shut up? The next song is starting to play!

Kura-Pelland
26-11-2007, 13:41
The Kura-Pellandi national final is taking place at the Unity Arena, in what is in effect a very early technical rehearsal - though some of the effects will change. The lighting rig is rather simpler, certainly - only eight moving lights are in place, and strobe effects are conspicuous by their total absence. The video wall is in place though, and a huge one it is too - filling the entirety of the background behind the stage, which is surrounded on all sides by LED striplights that change colour.

The hosts for the qualifiers are the same as in the event proper - Janette MacIntyre and Graham Coulter. MacIntyre made her name as a DJ for Trilan radio station Big T Radio, and has since moved on to presenting a chart show for NTV: Graham Coulter hosts the channel's most popular game show, Nine Lives. The acts are introduced...

* Madeleine Mourinho, a singer-songwriter from Cardim.
* The Stompers, a country-rock group from Mezzard.
* The Boogiemen, a disco-pop group from Trilan.
* Steph King and Iain Winter, singers from Prangren.
* Wrong Intentions, a punk-rock group from Parwood.
* Andy Grundig, a singer/rapper from Porterbridge.
* Golden Ones, a pop-rock group from Oteha Banks.
* Stephenson's Smile, a rock group from Port Yarzoya.
* The Joan Carlton Extravaganza, a dance-pop group from Trilan.
* Katherine West, an operatic singer from Cardim.

Who will emerge triumphant? One must wait and see...

Magnus Valerius
27-11-2007, 03:30
The Valerian Empire has rounded up quite some musical talent to try and represent the empire for the WorldVision Contest. Hailing from different backgrounds, they have convened in Isangrad for the finals. They include the following:

Yavuz - Thrash metal band from Alexandria. Their sweet guitar riffs and no-nonsense lyrics blow their crowds away.

Blini - Rock group from Sankt Valerian with a female lead singer, Irina Shuvalova. She is pretty odd, wearing nothing but black.

Viktoria Isanderova - sexy pop star from Petrovgrad. Her Valerian-accented English and lusty hips make foreigners swoon.

Iron Mang - Hip hop artist from the 'dark streets of Ironworks district, Isangrad'. Has good flow and good rhythm.

DJ Isan - Techno/trance DJ from Kholmogory that also features Viktoria Isanderova in some vocal tracks. Some think they are gonna compete together.

Alexandre LeCrevecour - pianist from Nikeah. Brings Classical music to the otherwise 'hip' squadron of contestants.

The Choir of Chanting Monks from St. Photios Monastery in East Valeria - self-explanatory. They plan to recite liturgies and perhaps do a monastical rendition of some popular song.

"Well before we have the Sorthern Northland final for the Worldvision Song Contest let's have a look at the acts we have all wanting your vote. I understand there are four acts, tell us more Johnty."

"Yes, thank you Bohumír, we do indeed have four acts who will be performing later on let's have a quick look at them. First up is Pedro the Donkey, who will be peforming the song, erm Donkey Song. Lets hear a sample of that"

"Ee-orr ee-orr ee-orr ee-oor"

"Erm well interesting stuff Johnty, does it have a chance?"

"Well yeah the donkey is our national animal and Desborough Donkey and the Donkettes for Mallatarsland has already qualified so yeah I'd say it has a chance."

"And would you say theres any reason not to vote for it?"

"Yes plenty, we all know that Pedro is not the most co-operative donkey in the world and getting him to perform could be difficult. It is also just a donkey braying and Pedro will most probably just shag any other donekys instead"

"Erm yes all good reasons and who do we have next?"

"Next up is Neuville Senna the famous rubbish footballer with his rap which is called, It's Senna Time. Here's a sample.

"Boom Boom Chk,Boom, Yooooo it's Senna in the house, ready to rock the party, lemme see you all throw your arms in the air, like the crazy fools you are."

"Wow, I don't even need to ask whats rubbish about that"

"Yes the only difficulty with that is deciding whether he's worse at rapping or football."

"Right let's move on quickly and next up we have a proper musician I believe?"

"Yes we do indeed it's Lo-Fi with their song Hard to score."

"Sounds interesting tell me more."

"Basicly its a song about a bloke who finds to difficult to score, about you really Bohumír."

"Erm let's hear some of it"

"It's so hard to score, hard to score, drive me crazy, my beutiful baby, don't want me, not together, stand up, knock me right back, hard to score, hard to score, hard to scoreeeeeeeeee"

"That's probably the best one so far, well definatly."

"And last up what do we have?"

"Well Bohumír, it's a band who only perform in Northlandish, it Horkafied with Det ihn ehufb."

"Ok well let's hear it."

"Evas net niag, ajif jeif kiefn, kohks jouh hyid tnus, det ihn ehufb"

"And what does that have that the others don't?"

"Well it's main point is that it's in Northlandish but as it's only us Northlanders that understand it, that could also be it falling point if it's selected"

"I see, so Johnty, what are your views?"

"Personally I think the Lo-fi song is the best and lets be honest if the public want us to have a chance of winning that is the only song that can do that."

"I dunno, I've heard that donkey music is populer abroad."

"Well we'll see."

Can't we take a break now?

Why?

Well, we've gone past 40 songs now, and my ears have not had a chance to take a break. They really are killing me after all this so-called music.

So, the next song might be better. besides, we stll have 80 more of them to go.

I highly doubt it will be better.

So, there still might be something. and if it is, at least we'll know who's representing us.

I see your reasons, but I'm not going to click the link. My ears are to tired.

If you won't click the link, I will. But don't think we're done.

The atmosphere was electric at the Douglas Civic Center as the five finalists performed for the opportunity to represent Scotchpinestan in the Worldvision Song Contest.

All five acts got enthusiastic responses from the crowd, but the loudest ovation seemed to be for Malik Terry, whose inclusion in the final five had stirred up plenty of debate.

All that was left was the voting...and the results.

The five acts were brought back on stage, and the top two were announced: Terry and Laura Simons.

Then the crowd was treated to a surprise performance by Seizure, last year's winners.

Afterwards, Seizure lead singer Jack Uggla was given the honor of announcing the winner.

"I must say, both of you are amazing, and I predict that whoever ends up winning, you will go to Kura-Pelland and score a LOT more points at Worldvision than we did.

The WTV music executives were mulling over their options.

"How did we do last time?"

"Not bad, considering...our best score yet. Picking an established pop band was a good idea."

"Yes...can we get them back?"

"I doubt it. They didn't even know they were competing. International song competitions are not seen as paricularly, er, happening, as the vernacular has it."

"Perhaps we can pick someone who has so much success in the NS Chart that they won't mind apearing? Their reputation will dwarf any possible adverse impact?"

"It's an idea. Who from Wentland has made a global impact then?"

"Not many, really...our popular music does not seem to travel well."

"You'd think that skiffle rave would be a global taste? Oh dear. How do we find out?"

"We go onto the NS Chart database...let's look for Wentland chart successes...here we go. Page loading..."

"Oh dear."

"It's a litany of failure, isn't it? The Apathetics got to number 88 once, Basalt to number 97..."

"That band did quite well."

"Gracious? That was a singer. She died in a plane crash. Her only hit was posthumous. And forty-six years ago."

"Oh dear...well, hang on! Look at this band! They had a number one hit!"

"Yes, that was The Pettes. After publicity from the contest last year they hit the top with "Feminist Woe". Which is very sweary, we can't allow that to go in this year. I think they're the only act to have a number one..."

"Is there no more? I seem to remember Zoe Zazza was a bit of a disco queen, but she's not on the list, it stops with Valerian...never heard of them..."

"Goths, look at the title of their song. "Lips Like Blood". They'll never enter. Besides which they split four years back."

"Hang on, there's a second page...click there..."

"Yes...Zoe Zazza had a couple of top forties...but wait! What about that one? A number one hit!"

"Errr...we can't enter that..."

"Why not? They're not dead, are they?"

"No, but...just LOOK at the song!"

"Don't care, will they do it?"

"Only too willingly, I fear.."

"RIGHT! Get them on the blower..."

"That's exactly what I fear..."

Ivan Anchikov: "And... after a week of competition, The Valerian People have spoken, and now four finalists are lined up to represent the Empire in the WorldVision Contest! Let's see who they are and what songs they will be performing..."

The Four Valerian Finalists

Yavuz - Adamantine Glove

DJ Isan featuring Viktoria Isanderova - Sick With Love

The Choir of Chanting Monks from St. Photios Monastery in East Valeria - Hymn of the 9th Ode of Saint Ivan of Kholmogory

Blini - Te Deum

Pavila Malatova: "My, the monks made it! I wonder how it'll turn out for them?"

Anchikov: "Indeed. Their melodic chorus is pretty popular with Valerians."

Malatova: "I personally love DJ Isan..."

Anchikov: "Well, you DO hit up raves, especially the ones he plays at."

Malatova: "Right!"

Anchikov: "Well, I am going for Yavuz and their thrash metal/power metal style."

Malatova: "Ooh... those guitar licks and riffs make me feel alive."

Anchikov: "We can't discount Blini either, with their art punk and indie rock style. Irina Shuvalova is a mysterious woman... and she has a good voice too."

Malatova: "Uh huh. I bet you like her body more than her singing."

Anchikov: "Well...she is mysterious... in a good way."

Malatova: "It's time to have our groups fight for the last time. Each one will perform their song, and... you know, Valerians at home - you vote."

A While Later...

Anchikov: "Ladies and Gents, we have finally picked out the band that will represent The Valerian Empire... and the group to head off to WorldVision is..."

Malatova: "...DJ Isan featuring Viktoria Isanderova with their song, Sick With Love!"

Anchikov: "Guess Valerians are into techno-trance...? Yavuz came up at a close second. Maybe next time?"

Don't tell me you're going to have us represented by that Vampire Lord song?

Heard Anything better?

No, but i-

I rest my case. 60 songs an this is the only decent one

God, could you let me finish? I was saying that maybe if we clicked the next link-

I've already clicked on SIXTY links and found almost nothing good anywhere.

We, but there are still-

Look, you told me that I just find a song I like. And I did. So why could that be a problem

Well, I also said the we should go through-

I know. However, I decided to spare myself from that, and get this job done quickly. If we had done them all, we would be the last country to-

How about I cut you off, If you keep doing it to me? I you just pick one now, not everyone really gets a fair chance.

Fair chance? This is not a gambling tournament. I should be able to choose a song based on what I think about this. And I thought that this song was the only one that didn't suck as bad. Therefore, the representative of Wijaska Island in the WorldVison Song Contest will be-

SHUT UP AND CLICK THE NEXT LINK ALREADY!!!

I was saying the representative of Wijaska Island will be... Vampire Lord, by Random Worlds

I'll get you for this...

"So he's agreed?"

"Yes. He's even come up with a song already."

"Really? That was quick."

"Well, he had the title, he said he had the song in mind. We can put it forward now, which is nice."

"OK, let me see."

"No need, I'll just do the fax now."

OOC: I'm hoping to get this started this weekend, TGs will be sent out tonight to all those who haven't posted their entry yet.

Speaking of which...

IC:

And so, the national qualifier, This Is Our Sound. Someone's coming back to Trilan for WorldVision. Ten contenders, and this serves as a live test for the infrastructure too; the arena was just short of selling out, with a crowd of 18,789. The official capacity for WorldVision will be 20,193, plus 900 members of the media. In performance order... here they go.

* Madeleine Mourinho, a singer-songwriter from Cardim. What Happened To Us? is a darkly atmospheric piano-led ballad with clarinet and cello accompaniment, Mourinho's smoky contralto voice entirely fitting. Could not have asked for a worse draw.
* The Stompers, a country-rock group from Mezzard. They're dressed in desperately poor costumes that look to be inspired by the national flag, are linedancing (yes), and then break into a disco groove. There was a song in there? Yes, apparently it was called Break It Down. Well, that gives Madeleine a chance right away.
* The Boogiemen, a disco-pop group from Trilan. They're doing what the Stompers tried, but many times better and with just the disco. The Night Of Your Life is high-tempo, funky and has a neat bit of brass. A contender.
* Steph King and Iain Winter, singers from Prangren. Their singing is tolerable, their, erm, chemistry is excessive. Inseperable is a desperately sickly bit of balladry, and shouldn't be allowed to feature. It probably won't but...
* Wrong Intentions, a punk-rock group from Parwood, aren't going to stop them with a performance as shambolic as that. Take Over The World has a shouty chorus, shouty verses and no subtlety whatsoever, and it was performed poorly. Actually that's generous.
* Andy Grundig, a singer/rapper from Porterbridge. After the night's worst performance by any technical measure, Grundig's excellent diction and rhythm leads to possibly the best. Hey Everybody (Magical Night) just isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea though.
* Golden Ones, a pop-rock group from Oteha Banks. Hello, radio rockers. Special has been played to death on 95X and other major radio stations lately, and everyone already knew that this was a decent but not amazing bit of guitar pop. It was performed well but not quite perfectly.
* Stephenson's Smile, a rock group from Port Yarzoya. Thunder could have been any of the Lordi clones from the last RL Eurovision, except it's nowhere near as menacing and as such is actually hilarious.
* The Joan Carlton Extravaganza, a dance-pop group from Trilan. Joan is wearing not very much at all, and is joined by two keyboard players and three backing dancers who are wearing slightly less than that. Did we mention Joan is 63? Give It Up is the title of the song, and the advice everyone will be giving her.
* Katherine West, an operatic singer from Cardim. Trying to pull the same trick as Zoe Whittock, there. Voice Of Hope Within is nowhere near as horribly difficult to sing - high, yes, but manageably so, and it's a very simple song that works well. Probably the favourite.

A dramatic vote took place, with Katherine West, Golden Ones and Madeleine Mourinho all up in contention right near the end after Andy Grundig and The Boogiemen slipped back after polling well in the east, where the first votes were reported from. In the end, Katherine West emerged triumphant, and she'll be back here in Trilan for the final, where she is seen as amongst the favourites but with so little known about the qualifiers it's hard to judge...

"Hello, Hello, Hello and welcome to the Sorthern Northland Worldvision National Final."

"Yes, hello, hundreds of bands came for auditions and now we are down to the last few, and it your chance to vote for your nations representative at the Worldvision Final in Kura-Pelland in just a few days time."

"It's been an eventful few months since we last spoke to you to reveal the final four hasn't it Johnty?"

"It has Bohumír, it certainly has. Pedro the donkey was caught in Castrograd High Street trying to get it own with a dog, but best of all Neuville Senna was kidnapped by natives in The Pazhujeb Islands when our football team went there meaning he can no longer play for the national team or perform his crap rap tonight, Karl Marx be praised.

"Well now it's time to see the performances of the three remaining bands and decide who you want to vote for."

*All three remaining acts perform.

"Well now you've seen the three songs you can chose from, you can vote by the red button, SMS, or phone, all the details are up on the screen now, the fifteen minute voting period starts now."

*The fifteen minutes are taken up by a government propaganda film.

"Wow the government are doing a great job aren't they Johnty?"

"Certainly Bohumír, just imagine how shite this country would be without President O'Bagels or The Workers Party."

"Doesn't bear thinking about Johnty. Now I believe you have the results there Johnty?"

"I certainly do and I can reveal that in third place with 16% of the vote it is, the Horkafied song Det ihn ehufb."

"So that leaves Lo-Fi and Pedro the donkey in the competition. Johnty the result please."

"Well it's very close in second place with 41% is Pedro the donkey which means that with 43% of the vote, the winner is Lo-Fi with Hard To Score."

"Well thanks for that Johnty, so Lo-Fi with Hard To Score will be representing Sorthern Northland in Kura-Pelland next week, we'll see you then. Thanks for watching."

(fake enthusiasm) So, now as another edition of the WorldVision Song Contest approaches us, it is time for us to do what we always do before the contest! It is time for us, no, you, to select a song to represent us, here on Piosenka Dla Swilasjii. So, let's get this done, here is the list of 15 songs entered into this year's competition.

Entry number 1:
Wake up and Kill, by Duel of the Fates
These guys never shut up, do they, every year, we vote whatever crap the submit into the contest out, and then they come back again to bother us with their music. Or are you actually going to choose them as the representative this year?

Entry number 2:
You killed the gods and the world, by Movement of Truth
Last year it was commies, and this year it's religious terrorist wackos. Seriously, it bothers me when people like this try to use the contest for selling their disgusting views.

Entry number 3:
My Real True Love, by Niezwykłe
Alright, so now we get the stuff that isn't as terminally bad. Wait, no. It's another one of those boy-band songs. So yeah, it is terminally bad.

Entry number 4:
War, Slavery, and Poverty, by Bandyty Swilajskie
Ugh, These guys again. Long time no see. And it's even more ridiculous is that this song is supposed be about what's happening inside the country. Have they forgotten that the winning song goes to an international contest?

Entry number 5:
If we don't see again, by Sajasanta Niwalase
Another love song. I don't think I need to say anything more.

Entry number 6:
Time of Peace, by Pawdziwy Świat
Now this one comes from one of our very own "the world is great and people are good" troupes. The melody is fine, but the lyrics make me think they forgot that we dropped the political themes in the contest.

Entry number 7:
Separation, by Anonymous
Sounds decent enough, I must say too good to go to WorldVision. The only real problem title is in a different language than the song itself, this kind of makes me think of those crappy Lovisan songs. You know, Hi-Fi Superstar, Mixtura, and Waiting 4 U.

Entry number 8:
It's not fair, by The Group
Another complaints song. It's just that this one, isn't done by some large choir, just a few guys who complain too much. Seriously, "My Iced tea is always too cold"?

Entry number 9:
I Love you inside me, by Benny Lava
So, how does he manage to make such nonsense using only actual English words? You'd almost think this was in some imaginary language.

Entry number 10:
When the world ends, by QuestionMark
So, this one has the distinction of being both a love song and an "end of the world" song. Two annoying, overused lyrics ideas in one song. And that can't be good.

Entry number 11:
We love the Golden Bunny, by Grupa CBBC Swilasja
They don't get it do they? It's really a fat chance that the people of Swilatia are going to vote to be represented in a song contest by a FAST FOOD COMMERCIAL! Seriously, I thought the reseults of last year's vote would show them that.

Entry number 12:
Fantasy Dance, by Michał i Michał
Now this is by far the weirdest song this year. Weird melody, and weird lyrics, not all of which are in a Real Language. Baisically another Fayala, though, and we really shouln't be doing the same stuff every year.
b
Entry number 13:
Into the darkness, by Vilvek
Another quality song standing out in front of all the crap on this list. Too bad it most likely won't be the song representing us.

Entry number 14:
NoWhereVision, by A Band Without a Name
Even though the band is based in Swilatia now, all thatnks to the KRMB, I still don't think they should be entering their song into 2 different National Selections at the same time.

Entry number 15:
WorldSong, by nsqwytz
And I thought the Lovisans were gone from this contest. Then I saw this this Song's Lyrics. Just the same stuff over and over again.
----
3... 2... 1...
STOP VOTING!!!

Yes, all the votes are in and have been counted, so now come the top 4 songs in the vote. If you want to see how the other songs placed, you can always check on our website.

Fourth Place: Separation
Third Place: I Love you inside me
Second Place: Into the darkness
(dramatic pause)
And our represntative in WorldVision 3 will be: It's not fair, by The Group!
