K-P-V World Cup 38: Roster Thread

As one might expect, this is where you post your team's roster and other such relevant information for the upcoming World Cup 38, to be hosted by Kura-Pelland and Vephrall.

You may choose a style modifier for your team if you wish; the range is from -5 (most defensive) to +5 (most offensive).

You may also outline here what your opponents may or may not do with respect to your team while RPing. A popular method of doing so is by using this template:
If my opponent RPs first, they may:
Name my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
Godmod other creative events (including injuries): Y/N
Injure my players: Y/N
Give out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Give out red cards to my players: Y/N

The Valerian Boyars Return to the World Cup

The greatest team to come out of the Kuric and Gedonian Continents, the Valerian Boyars, have finally made a return to the World Cup after a prolonged absence. The Valerians have the spirit, but with such a young team, their spirit may not make up for the lack of experience. Luckily, they have great management behind them.

Their style has been ranked as a strong offensive +3 by Valerian football officials and outsiders who have seen them play. They will be playing in a 4-2-4 formation, which is conservative (it's been their playing formation for numerous world cups).

Maximilian von Hohenstauffen, the son of Karl von Hohenstauffen (the last star player on the Boyars) and the grandson of football legend Jozef von Hohenstauffen (who made his debut in WC 16 playing for the Boyars), is making his debut in the national team. He is expected to share the same footballer blood as his predecessors, and many expect him to become a world-class player with experience.

Coach:
George Ilyanich, the "Tower of Power"; former Boyar football star player (Age 52)

Assistant Coach and Training Manager:
Mongke Urt-Urumqi (Age 50)

21) Isa Sinan (S, Age 19, Türkbükü Viziers) - foreign player; from Yeni Halic
22) Iosif Daitsev (S, Age 20, Trentino FC)

The Uniforms The Boyars will be wearing are these ancient ones, way back from WC 14 or something... many Valerians have forgotten when these uniforms were first used by the national team.

Home Alternate

Manager

Justinian Constant
Age: 1145
After back to back ventures into the knockouts without any real measure of exemplary success, Constant is fighting for his job. With the transfer of power, with member countries of Valanora all being represented in the VFA and VSC, Constant will have his work cut out for him to make sure everyone stays happy and feels they are equally represented. Semifinal or bust is the team's motto for this tournament, and it's likely the only way this former captain will be holding the same position in four years time.

Assistant Manager

Dwier Titenburg
Age: 1310
With now several tournaments under his belt as an assistant manager, it is only time before the VFA or some other federation will be coming to call on the former defender to take the helm of their national team. Thanks to his career on the pitch and his relationship with Constant, he has been given some pretty significant leeway when it comes to constructing defensive assignments and conditioning methods. He already has told the players that this will be his last season as the assistant manager of the national team, and the squad will be doing thier best to send him out in style.

Goalie

42 Akihiko Yoshida, Rinaldi Gunners
Age - 26
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 176 lbs
Country of Origin: Assegai Developments
This stalwart Assegain has been playing in the Premiership side of Rinaldi for several seasons now and holds two goalkeeping records, most penalties saved in a game and the lowest goals against average for a season. With the new entity of Valanora, he has his chance to represent the country where he has become a domestic league hero, and perhaps be the rock in between the posts that the St. Louis brothers never were on a consistant basis.

Defenders

5 Mathias Nickel, Cheonjin (Daehanjeiguk)
Age - 812
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 164 lbs
Country of Origin: Elves Security Forces
After anchoring the Hartdale defence for several seasons as well as the national team for the past few tournaments, it has become clear that Nickel is currently the best defender Valanora has to offer. With all the skills and a solid dicipline, he is everything anyone would every desire in a center back and then some.

31 A.J. Durai, A.C. Leá Monde (Assegai Developments)
Age - 29
Sex - M
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 158 lbs
Country of Origin: Assegai Developments
A very sturdy and upright man who has seen the world and has finally decided to stick it out for the long term in his home country. While clearly not overly tall or strong, his pace and his precision marking/tackling make him a quality defender.

33 Ash Nazg, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai Developments)
Age - 24
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 178 lbs
Country of Origin: Turruth Gordur
An aggresive in your face defender who likes to leave his mark on his mark for the match. Oppenents often complain about his physical tactics and often leave the pitch bruised and demoralised. However, this does get him in foul and booking trouble when going against a strict referee.

Midfield

10 Ashley Riot, Rinaldi Gunners
Age: 28
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 173 lbs
Country of Origin: Assegai Developments
Like many of the Assegains who have made their home in the Premiership, Riot has become somewhat of a legend. With a great personality and some supreme quality skill set, it was an easy choice to put him in the squad and start the veteran midfileder. He looks eargerly to continueing his domestic and Assegain national team success over to the Valanora squad.

20 Samantha Neesa, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 23
Sex - F
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
Country of Origin: Assegai Developments
Although it seems like she has been around forever, this young lady is a natural scorer who normally plays in a striker role. However with an already logjam at the striker position, her flexibility in being able to play out on the wing gets her not only on the squad, but starting as well. Due to her natural tendacy to go towards the net, she'll get herself out of position or lack on her defensive assignments which may become worrisome considering Kries on the other wing does the same.

14 Laborious Hawk, Timorlug Wargs (Turruth Gordur)
Age - 649
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Country of Origin: Elves Security Forces
After three trips around the block with the national team, including leading or co-leading the squad in scoring in two of the three, Laborious has become the most dangerous player on the Marauders roster. Great technique, accurate shot, and great all around play is what makes him special. With Night to feed into, there is no telling what kind of offensive juggernaught this squad may become.

15 Cristi Kries, AC Lea Monde (Assegai)
Age - 769
Sex - F
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 132 lbs
Country of Origin: Elves Security Forces
She certainly is not the strongest person on the squad, but she is quite the accomplished winger. Having lead AC Lea Monde last season in both goals and assists, she is a dangerious player out wide, with the touch and control of the ball to create havoc on opposing markers. With still room to improve, she might just run herself out of energy and be a risk late in the halves or when the squad is looking to close narrow games out.

16 Javier Jaques, CA Ville-Royale (Oliverry)
Age - 777
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 174 lbs
Country of Origin: Elves Security Forces
Jaques is an intersting story. A very versatile midfielder who can play just about anywhere, he was once thought to be an uncultured and unteachable talent. Yet his time in Oliverry changed that around and got him his shot on the national team. Growing further from that expierence, feeling he is not appreciated, and thinking he needs a bigger club to further his career, he is far from happy at the side that turned him into a star. Yet he makes his way back to the national team this term, mostly due to a shortage in quality center midfielders right now. One would hope his domestic troubles are left behind, for when he wears that Marauders jersey, it's when he really shines.

Strikers

12 Draco Glaurung, Mar Sara Flames
Age - 27
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 184 lbs
Country of Origin: Turruth Gordur
A very quiet but personable striker, who despite coming from a barbaric/warrior country, is very cultured and worldly. Yet for his politeness and charisma off the pitch, his talent makes him a completely dominating and devestating player on it who knows only how to win and score goals.

9 Kiso Night, Rinaldi Gunners
Age 36
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
Country of Origin: Elves Security Forces
With his heiritage there was no doubt that young Kiso would one day be the one of the greatest elves to ever take up the sport. Yet no one in ESF or the world could of expected this young lad to explode into his talent so quickly. Already closing in on his mother's record for international goals, and with still at least a thousand good years ahead of him, there is no telling where his stats might end and how great of a player he still might become. Equivilant to a human child of two, he has everything left ahead of him, and one must wonder if he will go down as the greatest player to ever live, or at least the greatest striker.

Ad'ihan official national team squad list for World Cup 38

Style modifier +3.

Give out red cards to my players: Yes

Ad'ihan play a 3-1-2-1-3 (diamond) formation.

Manager: Luke Evans (Liverpool England)
Age: 36
The Ad'ihan Football Federation extended Evans' contract to the end of World Cup 38 qualifying despite a poor showing at World Cup 37 and the subsequent OXEN Cup 4. However, Evans is expected to deliver at least a qualification spot, and is under tremendous pressure. His management style is focused heavily on keeping possession of the ball, with smooth passing. His World Cup 38 squad features some major changes from his World Cup 37 one, with many players on the 37 squad either losing starting spots or being dropped altogether.

Starting Goalkeeper: Ben Ropes
Age: 22
Ropes has displaced Derrick Hunt as the starting goalkeeper after Hunt's recent poor form for the squad. Ropes was on the squad for World Cup 37 but did not make an appearance. His inclusion as the starting goalkeeper has caused some controversy, as Hunt's World Cup 36 and 37 deputy Harry Kemble has not been elevated to the starting spot.
Backup/subs: Harry Kemble, 25; Derrick Hunt, 29

Starting Left back: John Bristow
Age: 24
Bristow is a new face in the squad, displacing former left back Kenneth Quinn, who drops to the bench. Bristow, who is reportedly quarter-Casaran, has a mean streak in him commonly found in nutty Casarans, and will do what it takes to win a challenge.
Backup/subs: Kenneth Quinn, 24
Losing out (dropped from squad): Freddy Gibson, 26

Starting Centre-half: Jed Fisher
Age: 23
Fisher is one of the fair few who have retained their starting positions from World Cup 37, and has been named vice-captain of the team for the qualifiers at the age of just 23. Fisher had originally declined the offer when offered it by Evans, but accepted after his team-mates confirmed they would support him in that role.
Backup/subs: Pierre Marquis, 28; Justin Stenstrom, 19
Losing out: Chad Hatch, 24

Starting Right back: Jeffery Dustin
Age: 20
Dustin is the youngest starting player on the team by five days, and a new addition to the squad after being spotted by scouts. Dustin, who becomes the first religion-observant player on the team from a mainly agnostic or atheist Ad'ihan and is a devout Catholic, can also play in right midfield or as a wing back.
Backup/subs: Garry Gardner, 25

Starting defensive midfielder: Barry Miller
Age: 20
Miller, who was included on the World Cup 37 squad as a substitute anchorman in a formation that did not have an anchorman role, is given a starting place this cup with a change in formation. Miller is a technically gifted anchorman, but is slow to make decisions at times and can sometimes be caught in no-man's land.
Backup/subs: Peter Schilling, 19

Starting right midfielder: Laurénzo Argent
Age: 26
After playing second-fiddle to Edward McCann for two cups, Argent is finally elevated to the starting eleven, with former captain McCann being dropped from the squad totally in one of Evans' more surprising moves this cup. Argent is perhaps most well-known for his contribution in setting up Ad'ihan's first-ever World Cup finals goal.
Backup/subs: Rick Smith, 25 (Smith was on the WC37 squad as starting central midfielder, a position that does not exist in this new formation.)
Losing out: Edward McCann, 27

Starting left midfielder: Phillip Brennan-Evans
Age: 22
Brennan-Evans displaces Darren Mills in left midfield, sparking cries of nepotism amongst Mills' fans. Brennan-Evans is manager Luke Evans' nephew. However, the AFF have dismissed such claims, telling critics to watch Brennan-Evans in action, beliving him to be good enough a replacement for Mills, who drops to the bench.
Backup/subs: Darren Mills, 26
Losing out: David Davis, 25

Starting attacking midfielder: Chris Stall
Age: 23
Chris Stall is the second of just four players to retain their starting positions from World Cup 37. Stall had been on the chopping block but impressed Evans well enough in team selection training to retain his spot ahead of newcomer Jake Holmes. Hugh Milne loses out altogether.
Backup/subs: Jake Holmes, 20
Losing out: Hugh Milne, 27

Starting strikers: Julian D'Abbo, 25; Lenny Fowler, 26; James McDonald, 25
D'Abbo and Fowler are a proven partnership, having scored most of Ad'ihan's international goals between them, and Evans is sticking to what's tried-and-tested. McDonald makes the step up from the bench, and will be eager to show that he's just as good as his two striking partners.
Backup/subs: George Connor, 18; Steve Bryson, 20
Losing out: Brandon Jarvis, 25; Lee Conway, 27; Brett Whitehead, 27

Ad'ihan play at the 74,000-capacity Protectorate Stadium, with other stadia around the Outer Islands. However, due to ongoing conflict, it has been decided that it is unsafe to play on Île Grande (including within Ad'ihan itself), and all matches will take place at the 120,000 all-seater Grovers Park in Orean, Liverpool England until further notice. The AFF hope to play at least one match in the Protectorate if the situation dies down.

Caretaker Manager: Ricardo Garcia (Aged 48)
With Mark Baker missing presumed dead, his long-time assistant Garcia has been given the job for the World Cup finals – and beyond if he impresses. Unwilling to mess with the team that took C&M to their debut finals, Garcia will likely stick with Baker’s 4-2-3-1, with the possibility of Yasser Zaghloul coming in for Corradini in a 4-4-2 for certain games.

A self-proclaimed sports psychology expert, Garcia’s tactical awareness is also undoubted, but there remain concerns over his ability to bring a downbeat squad together once more. To that end, he has brought in his friend, the former Cathedral City boss Che Martín. Steve Loovens (fitness) and Elroy Ergin (goalkeeping) remain at his side.

Stats (more or less) correct as of Matchday fourteen (end of qualifying).

Goalkeepers:

22. Oberon Martinez, 28, Albrecht Turkish, STARTER, 18 caps
Having conceded thirteen goals in thirteen games in qualifying; Martinez appears to have confirmed his place as the country’s No.1. His athleticism is his shining quality, a poor record from corners the negative.

23. Harry Primrose, 25, MarquezOW, 1 cap
A hint of lavender.

1. Paolo Thorpe, 30, KT Hotspur, 1 cap
Back in the squad after a leg break put him out of WC36 qualifying; he is highly unlikely to start but conceded fewer goals that anyone in the CMSC last term.

Defenders:

2. Nic Noble, 26, KT Hotspur, STARTING RIGHT-BACK, 5 caps (1 as sub)
Solid lump of a player who can play just about anywhere, albeit not overly well. More defensive-minded than the player he has replaced at right-back.

13. Lorenzo De Wilde, 25, Cheonjin [Daehanjeiguk], STARTING LEFT-BACK, 14 caps (2 as sub)
A versatile player who is left-footed but can play anywhere along the back line and possess a mean header from corners. Also has a league-winners medal under his belt from his foreign club side.

17. Sam Young, 29, Albrecht FC, STARTING CENTRE-BACK, 29 caps (1 as sub), 2 goals
Came in for Peter Waddington half-way through WC37 Qualifying. A good leap for a little’un, but has thus far failed somewhat to fill the former captain’s boots.

5. Benji Fu, 30, Albrecht FC, STARTING CENTRE-BACK, CAPTAIN, 55 caps
Tall defender who elegantly distributes the ball into the midfield and flanks. A placid lad, who occasionally elects to hack randomly at an opponent and gives away too many penalties, he was a surprise choice to replace Waddington as the armband-holder.

12. Walter Jordan, 26, Caires City, 18 caps (3 as sub), 1 goal
His link-up on the right with Caras could pay dividends. Jordan is a more attacking option on the right than his predecessor, but lacks great defensive skill. Breeds rabbits. The big ones they used on Tellytubbies. Famous for it.

3. Doug Szczechowicz, 29, Albrecht Turkish, 28 caps (1 as sub), 1 goal
Has a habit of picking up silly bookings, but has a good cross on him and impressed on the overlap with Cornelisse in WC37 Qualifying.

18. Juan Carlos Revault, 30, KT Hotspur, 11 caps (7 as sub)
Another utility man, who has also played in the centre of midfield. Has never been out of the squad.

Midfielders:

16. O'Sullivan Caras, 27, Caires City, STARTING RIGHT-WINGER, 56 caps, 5 goals
Slightly less skilful than other options on the wings, but an intelligent player with a pint-point cross and decent free-kick on him. Obnoxiously religious, he usually stretches competition rules as far as they can go in order to take to the pitch with more holier-than-thou bling than you can shake a diamond-encrusted crucifix at. Recently forced to deny he was planning to retire and take up the priesthood. C&M's most capped player.

20. Jos Cornelisse, 29, FC Lasft [Cafundéu], STARTING LEFT-WINGER, 40 caps (6 as sub), 2 goals
C&M's Prince of the Step-Over, Cornelisse’s confidence took a knock after his Cafundéu club side’s relegation. He has since moved on to the phlegmatic FC Lasft, and remains an ever-present in the C&M side.

7. José Felipe Cassumba Domingos, 22, MarquezOW, STARTING ATTACKING MIDFIELDER, 28 caps (7 as sub), 4 goals
The C&M side of the future will surely be built around "Cassa", who can play up the right or in the middle. For now, however, there remain concerns over his lightweight physique.

14. Ben Head, 26, Green Island, STARTING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER, 37 caps, 3 goals
The vital cog for both C&M and Green Island’s impressive league season, Head will be the pivot around which the Big Blues turn. Is the public face of Spiritual Healing with Horses magazine.

4. Matteo Corradini, 22, Albrecht FC, STARTING CENTRAL MIDFIELDER, 14 caps, 1 goal
The fulcrum of the Second Di Bradini Cup side (we won it, don’t’cha’know), Corradini is an out-and-out holding player for the perennial CMSC champions, but goes straight into the C&M full side now as a more versatile player.

6. Fred Ma, 25, Gwangdong [Daehanjeiguk], 9 caps (5 as sub)
Highly thought of attacking midfielder who did wonderfully well with a poor club side last year and has been given his chance to impress. Seemingly a clone of Speed Wang, in both appearance and promise.

8. Mamdooh Momtaz, 33, Atlético Jutense [Cafundéu], 28 caps (13 as sub), 4 goals
Possessing an uncanny knack to score and create goals at will despite barely touching the ball for most of the game; Momtaz is a key substitute and will come in for Cassa or Corradini in the event of injury or lack of form.

11. Zachary Pinkowski, 28, El din Marbles, 10 caps (5 as sub), 3 goals
One of the outstanding performers of the last CMSC season; Pinkowski has become a controversial figure after switching from his relegated club side, Cathedral City, to their newly-promoted arch-rivals. A goal-scoring left-footer who represents a more solid answer to Cornelisse.

21. Reiban Okeke, 21, MarquezOW, 4 caps (all as sub)
Playing in a club side boasting C&M stars Cassa and Ignacio Vélez and Recluse Island international Niclas Kjaer; Okeke was forced to temper his natural attacking instincts last season. An aggressive player but possessing a silky touch, he provided the link between midfield and attack for the (victorious) Di Bradini Cup side and joins his colleague Corradini in the senior squad. Dreadlocks.

Forwards:

10. Ignacio Vélez, 26, MarquezOW, STARTING FRONT MAN, 33 caps (8 as sub), 17 goals
Slow but potentially deadly forward who was the CMSC’s top scorer last season. Had five goals in WC37 Qualifying, including those from the bench, and must score even more regularly with the retirement of Steven Fritz.

15. Yasser Zaghloul, 29, Port Sion FC [St Samuel], 34 caps (16 as sub), 7 goals
A great big unit, who's not as good in the air as he should be. Baker seems to adore him, though.

9. Stuart Vidakovic, 24, Green Island, 8 caps (5 as sub), 2 goals
The second highest league scorer behind Vélez; Vidakovic appears to have everything – electrifying pace, trickery and a keen eye for goal. But at international level, and without the vital skills of Green Island’s Valanoran midfield star Roger Zetaback behind him, does he really have enough?

19. Rusty Katic, 31, Radyukevich, 4 caps (all as sub), 1 goal
A veteran goalscorer who finally gets his change to, well, make up the numbers. And supply yet another C&M player of Eastern European origin. That makes is just five players in the squad who can realistically claim to be representative of the Anglo-Saxon majority in the Candelarias.

Stadiums:

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w175/candelariaandmarquez/MillermanSheppardatnight.jpg
The Big Blues play at the Millerman Sheppard Stadium; a 45,000-seater shoebox in the capital city Albrecht (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/albrecht.html).

However, at least two home games in the second half of qualifying will take place at the Estadio Arrigo Nacional, in the country’s second city of Arrigo (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/arrigo.html).

The Archregimancy

THE ARCHREGIMANCY BRINGS YOU

THE WORLD CUP 38 SQUAD

First of all, everyone except newbies knows that the Archregimancy is a nation of Eastern Orthodox Christian monks, right?

Following the Archregimancy's precipitous decline in the international rankings - from a top 10 team to a team barely in the top 30 in just three easy World Cup steps - the Monastic Football Association has decided to accept God's will, unknowable and unfathomable though it may remain, with all due humility and enter a team into the World Cup that better represents the team's ranking fall (though it's only a fall, not the Fall).

To that end....

GOAL:
Fr. George the Blind: Alas, this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch lost his sight some years ago due to a terrible degenerative congenital eye condition. Since then he has found his way through faith alone. Glory in his unshaken devotion to the Lord!

DEFENCE:
Fr. Fyodor the Lame: Crippled in his youth by polio, this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch has since devoted his life to Orthodoxy and a hesychastic search for theosis.

Fr. Feodor the Lame: Crippled in his youth by an unruly Wallachian bear , this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch has since devoted his life to Orthodoxy and a hesychastic search for theosis.

Fr. Theodoros the Lame: Crippled in his youth by an unfortunate freak accident involving candles and the Paschal liturgy, this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch has since devoted his life to Orthodoxy and a hesychastic search for theosis.

Fr. Theodore the Lame: Crippled in his youth by jumping off a cliff during an overly-literal attempt to emulate the Angels of the Lord, this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch has since devoted his life to Orthodoxy and a hesychastic search for theosis.

MIDFIELD:
Fr. Pavel Who Ate All the Pies: Jovial, popular, and deeply unfit unworthy worm of a monk wretch; who would have thought that non-dairy mushroom pies (as consumed during the fasting season) could be just as filling and fattening as those yummy butter pastry wild game pies?

Fr. Pyotr the Portly: While not quite as rotund as his old friend in Orthodoxy Fr. Pavel, this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch does struggle a bit with gout.

Fr. Hypatius the Fast Lover: Rumour has it that this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch hasn't eaten a solid meal containing any animal products for over 20 years. Wonder at his devotion! Admire his steadfastness! Worry that he might be dangerously anemic!

Fr. Fulvianius the Chortophage: That's a Greek approximation of 'grass eater', in case you're wondering. This poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch makes Fr. Hypatius look positively obese.

FORWARDS:
Fr. Serginho the Holy Fool: Estresse Intenso convert, and last hangover from the last World Cup squad (though repositioned). This poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch is either eccentric, mad, or inspired. Unfortunately prone to long-lasting lapses of concentration, though he can play a bit when he can be bothered to pay attention.

Fr. Demetrius the Holy Drunkard: Alas, two decades in the Holy Monastery of Solovetsky have not helped this poor unworthy worm of a monk wretch with his drinking problem - perhaps because Solovetsky is the Archregimancy's major vodka producer. Can usually be found slumped awkwardly at the halfway line with a bottle of clear liquid in his hand; if only it were Holy Water....

SUBSTITUTE:
Fr. Igor the Hunchback: He'll try and play in almost any position if he's really, really, needed - just as well, since he's the only substitute the team have this campaign.

COACH:
Fr. David of the Woods: Errinuderan native and former Archregimancy goalkeeper who's become something of a cult figure in his original homeland. Believed to have been put in charge of this team as penance for the recent wholly unofficial Errinundera-published all-nude calender "Hunky Monks!", which is purported to show Fr. David "as God and nature intended". Despite Fr. David's lack of involvement in the production of the offending document, the MFA want to show a clear signal that this sort of extramural activity is not to tolerated.

Formation:
The Archregimancy always plays an orthodox 4-4-2; style modifier +0.

Kit:
The recent emphasis on liturgical robes continues.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/vestments.jpg

The team is always accompanied to matches by the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, which shall be paraded before the team before all home and away qualifiers. The Holy Icon looks like:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/theotokos_of_nicopeia2.jpg

Tips for footballing visitors to the Archregimancy:

1) Each home match is preceded by the complete Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Rest assured that this should only require visiting teams, fans, and officials to stand for a mere 2 hours before kickoff. Consider yourselves lucky we don't use the Liturgy of St. Basil.

2) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Archregimancy home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated. Any such behaviour will find those responsible immediately transported back to ordinary physical reality.

3) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Archregimancy, a team of monks shall arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Archregimancy at your leisure.

4) A maximum of 10,000 visiting supporters shall be permitted into the Archregimancy for each qualifying match.

5) Women are not usually permitted into the Archregimancy. Exceptions will be made for visiting players and properly accredited officials - largely because we have to - but not for visiting supporters.

6) Formerly, the Archregimancy made a point of being resentful of being forced to permit atheists, communists, freemasons, assorted heretics and foul excelites into the Archregimancy for home qualifiers. Since the recent return of the liberal faction to leadership of the Monastic Football Association, however, the MFA has made a point of welcoming all of the above – though largely in the hope that might just possibly be open to conversion through a slightly more conciliatory approach. Not that the MFA approves of sinners, they’re just more subtle about it.

Godmod injuries to my players Y (within limits, see above)
Hand out Yellow cards to my players Y
Hand out Red cards to my players y
Godmod Other Events Y - (within limits, see above; and no religious conversions of players, please)

If this team wins a match, I imagine that you have four main RP choices:
1) They were incredibly, freakishly lucky.
2) It's a Miracle! Fervent devotion, strong faith, and reverance of Holy Icons has led the team to be temporarily cured of their afflictions for 90 minutes.
3) If the match was in the Dreamed Realm, someone sneakily altered reality and improved the team.
3) Cynics and atheists might suspect the squad isn't quite as bad as they're claiming to be.

But remember... Monks don't cheat. Please.

HOME GROUND

The Archregimancy are using the all-wooden 60,000 capacity Borisoglebsky stadium for the second qualifying tournament in a row - hey, they had a miserable record there last campaign, so this time they hope to do really, really badly all over again!

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/borisoglebsk.jpg

OOC: I realise my team might present a role-playing challenge. Rest assured that once they start playing they'll play just like any other team (though they might be a bit more inclined to pray after scoring), so I have no problem with you treating the team like any other if you don't want to deal with the Orthodox Christian element.

Bios:
Coach Charles DuPont is coaching the Sel Appa National Team for the eighth straight attempt for the World Cup. He brought the Turtles into the international football world and delivered them to not only the 33rd World Cup Finals, but into the Round of 16. Despite a large reshuffling of the team, DuPont has stayed on to maintain a constant and to better welcome the new team. Always optimistic, he strongly believes Sel Appa will soon rank among the top 10 in the world.

GK Mongke Bokegalbaatar is one of the new recruits for Sel Appa's national team. He is a huge 155kg behemoth that can easily stop a ball dead in its tracks with his large, meaty hands. He does not wear gloves, finding them uncomfortable. Despite being so large, he is quite nimble and can easily get from one goalpost to the other.

GK Anastasia Vadov is a well-known female goalkeeper. She claims to have the longest armspan in the nation, which will make her an excellent substitute.

DF Karli Rengel is considered one of the best defenders in Sel Appa. She was quickly chosen as soon as females were allowed on the team because of her skill. Her quick-thinking mind will enable a solid defense that should stop many attacks in their tracks.

DF Mohammed al-Jafari is a quick defender that ensures the goalkeeper has as little work as possible. He also sometimes acts as a defensive midfielder.

DF Nikole Barr is one of the fastest footballers in the country. She relies on her speed rather than her control to keep the ball away from the goal. She is notorious for forcing offsides.

DF David Davidson Jr. is lesser known player from Roflton who defends the goal well. He tries to fulfill his role as the last resort befor the keeper as best as possible.

DF Bum Dae Kim is a great defender who has sometimes run the ball deep into enemy territory before passing to an open forward. His counter-attacks are said to be the best in the nation.

MF Colin Patette is a master midfielder and probably Sel Appa's best. He can work in almost any situation and ensures that the ball is always in front of him. He became captain after Estevez's retirement and should hold the team together well, as under his predecessor.
Foreign Club: Petardos S/A

MF Arthur Mercator V is the son of midfielder Arthur Mercator IV and the fifth in a line of Sel Appan football legends. The Mercator Dynasty continues with this new addition, who is replacing Pho Nguyen, who retired. He is expected to team up with his father.

MF Natalie Dubrov is the daughter of former striker Alan Dubrov. She takes much after her father, especially her love of football. She works hard to ensure swift connections from the defense to the offense.

MF Dzheighcymn Ghotiolo is Sel Appa's attacking midfielder, who often acts like a forward. He scores a lot more often than the average midfielder and should probably be positioned among the forwards.

MF Miroc Szwtrz

MF Mish Vasou is the son of former defender Kash Vasou. Like his father, he was born and raised in the Natives Province and brings Native talent to the national team. He has quick, strong legs that do him well.

FW Miquelinho is one of the best players on the team. He is said to be very good at most shots and can score from almost any situation, like Estevez. Many call him "lil Estevez" due to his similar abililties.

FW Karl GEPARDO is probably the fiercest attacker in the nation. He has been known to knock down defenders just to get a shot in. He has a large deck of yellow and red cards that he admits he'll probably add to.

Somewhere deep in Holy Empire Football Association HQ...

"...didn't work, did it?"

"No. Not really. Miserable campaign. A washout. The greatest damp squib comeback in footballing history."

"So if bringing back Juan Tzimisces didn't work, what can we try?"

"I suggest we ask Basil and Theo."

"Are you sure?"

"Certainly. They've been around since World Cup 1 too. They're legends. They know a thing or two about football."

"Yes, but they might not be entirely sane, either."

"Still... let's ask them what they think. They're sitting outside waiting - I asked them to prepare a powerpoint presentation..."

<45 minutes and one incomprehensible power point presentation later>

"...two nuns, a donkey, and a plate of spaghetti - which is why, gentlemen, we think you have three choices this world cup."

"That's right, Baz. Either you field the last 11 Miss Holy Empire contestants..."

"Nude!"

"Yes. Thanks, Basil. Nude. Or you field an entirely normal and capable team drawn from the top teams in our national league."

"Two words! Bor-ing!"

"That's one word, Basil. Or, finally, you field a team of Welsh Ninjas."

"Did you say Welsh ninjas?"

"Yes, that's right. Welsh ninjas."

"And are you quite sure that ninjas are, well, Welsh?"

"Oh yes. Very Welsh. Their secret training centre is hidden away in the Preseli Hills, somewhere near Carn Ingli. It's very Welsh."

"They hold eisteddfodau every weekend after smashing their enemies' heads in - using secrecy, guile, and other ninja tricks."

"Well..... if you're quite certain....."

Defense:
Bill Fold- Despite his last name, is one of the most un-flappable defenders in the game.
Tex Mex- A guy born on the Rio Grande, not sure if he's a Texan or a Mexican, but he can play foosball.
John Jacob Jinglehimer-Schmidt- Not the guy someone wrote a song about.
Real McCoy- Found wandering the streets of Pruxton, saying "I'm the Real McCoy." Decided to use him on defense since his constant rambling throws of the opposition.

Midfield:
Pi- A 3.14 meter tall Greek letter that can play foosball.
The Sphinx- an enigmatic young lady who riddles the opposition with constant questions, which drive them crazy. Also a good corner kicker with her lion's legs.
3.1415- A shorter version of Pi, he's only 3.14 ft tall, but kicks like a mule.

Pi R. Squared- A Circle with legs, don't know how it happened, don't know where it's from, but it works.

Starblaydia's WC38 Roster
106th? We're having a laugh!

The twenty-three player squad and accompanying staff for Starblaydia's twenty-first attempt at World Cup qualificaton, giving them another nomination to the World Cup Hall of Fame, has been announced by the Starblaydi Football Association. The squad is as follows:

The Staff
BM. Betanii Marrones*, Head Coach, 46
48 Caps, 6 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
Starblaydia's first female manager of the national team, Betanii was a highly skilled Centre-Back who went to three World Cups and made her name as the first-ever female captain of the World Cup side in Starblaydia's last campaign before their international hiatus after World Cup 34. She's already coached Starblaydia's AOCAF side to a Quarter-Final in AOCAF 20 and, of course, the Runner-Up spot in the 25th Baptism of Fire for World Cup 38.

AI. Apollina Iakovakis*, Assistant Coach, 41 - Indigenous World Cup Winner
23 Caps, 4 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
A competitive attacking midfielder in her playing days, Apollina won the Indigenous World Cup in her playing days. She later went into coaching and currently manages Starblaydia's Under-21s, who she has led to third place finishes at both the inaugural Di Bradini Cup and International Justantina Cup.

The Goalkeepers
1. Fernando Rodriguez, GK, 27 - Corinthian Spirits
18 Caps (7 Caps at Under-21 Level)
First installed as the number-one goalie for the 20th AOCAF, young Fernando appears to be the golden boy of Starblaydi goalkeeping, preferred to the older Birgau, and younger Under-21 stalwart Nikolaidis. Somewhat of a confidence 'keeper, he has tended to either keep a clean sheet or concede a hat-full. Received an unjust red card in the opening Baptism of Fire match but came back to keep six clean sheets

12. Gergori Birgau, GK, 35 - Foxchester Raiders
3 Caps (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
Experienced at club level, Gergori won two of his caps in the Baptism of Fire as a replacement for the suspended Rodriguez and conceded just one goal in that time, so is preferred as back-up keeper ot the younger Nikolaidis. A great cross-catcher and commander of his penalty area, but has a tendancy to let shots slip past his fingers.

19. Kostas Nikolaidis, GK, 24 - Hecia
Uncapped (10 Caps at Under-21 Level)
Somewhat on/off in his goalkeeping skill from match to match, consistency is what Kostas needs in his future which, based on his Under-21 performances, will be a bright one.

The Defenders
2. Ornvidar Bazraltek^, RB, 28 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
12 Caps, 2 Goals (7 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
One of two Dwarves in the side, Bazraltek is a solid Right-Back, of whom former criticism said he didn't get forward enough. He, however, grew into the right-back role during the Baptism of Fire and is now the preferred full-back in Starblaydia. This member of the Book-keeping Guild uses quick short-speed to block and crosses time and again.

3. Leandro Perheira, L/CB, 20 - Internashionale
3 Caps (8 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
This youngster Overtook Edmundo Rivolli in the running order for Left-Back spot with his Under-21 performances, but in turn was superceeded by Canildo. Canildo now has moved to her preferred left-wing position, leaving the twenty year-old to take what he sees is his rightful position, being the grandson of Spruitland-based Left/Centre-back Oswald Perheira, who won 21 caps and also the 14th AOCAF for Starblaydia.

5. Roque Bravo, CB, 27 - Tabeck FC
18 Caps, 1 Goal (7 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A highly-skilled Captain of the Under-21s in the first Di Bradini Cup, Roque Bravo partnered Melciori at the 20th AOCAF and Baptism of Fire and their combination of skill and power is a traditionally effective one in the Starblaydi defence. Certainly one to watch and perhaps a future Starblaydi Captain, despite his numerous yellow cards for dissent - a little maturing is required from Roque.

6. Claudio Melciori, CB, 30 - Iskara Daii
19 Caps, 1 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
Melciori is the Iskara Daii stalwart at the back who will provide the strength to balance Roque Bravo's touch. He's big and tough, yet mobile, and always a threat at set-pieces. Partnered Bravo at the 20th AOCAF to the Quarter-Finals, and at the Baptism of Fire to the final.

13. Edmundo Rivolli, LB, 23 - Hersch Albion
Uncapped (12 Caps at Under-21 Level)
Something of an Under-21 stalwart, Edmundo has suffered from behind overtaken by first Kalia Canildo and then Leandro Perheira for his position, and though technically more experienced than Perheira, he's not considered quite as good.

14. Sebastian Brunner, CB, 24 - Hallad Reavers
3 Caps (17 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Young and big and strong, Brunner went to three Under-21 tournaments as a Centre-Back and will be the man to take up the mantle in the centre of defence should Bravo or Melciori require resting or replacing. Performed well in the Baptism of Fire when needed thanks to Bravo's suspension.

20. Jae Chang-hwa*, RB, 19 - Internashionale
Uncapped (11 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The pin-up girl of Starblaydi football, Jae and her "great rack" are finally in the senior side, with coach Betanii Marrones having left out the youngster for the Baptism of Fire. Young and full of vigour, Jae is, however, known for missing two crucial kicks in penalty shoot-outs that have ended Under-21 dreams of success.

The Midfielders
4. Lex Panarii, Captain, DM, 35 - Iskara Daii
18 Caps, 2 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
"Prof" Panarii is the old warhorse of the team, the Iskara Daii captain is thirty-five years old and nowhas no need to prove his ageist doubters wrong as the fulcrum in Starblaydia's midfield, as he silenced them during the Baptism of Fire. With age comes experience, and he can read a game better than most around him. Reading comes naturally to him, too, when in his days as an amateur footballer he was a Professor of History. He's the creator of Starblaydia's war-dance, the Raiigar, and a typical Starblaydi Number-Four if ever there was one.

7. Antonio Mora, RM, 25 - Iskara Daii
11 Caps, 2 Goals (7 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Has progressed into simply the best right-midfielder in Starblaydia. Mora's passing ability, particularly from crosses and dead-ball situations, is second to none in this side. An excellent work-rate, too, marks Mora out as one of the more consistently good performers.

8. Alfonso Di Angelo, A/DM, 21 - Iskara Daii
7 Caps, 2 Goals (11 Caps, 9 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Somewhat of an Under-21 sensation, the high-scoring talents of Di Angelo were used in a forward-minded role during Under-21s, and Marrones restricted him the holding midfield berth, in what is surely a waste of his talents, in the Baptism of Fire. Now she feels he is ready to be unleashed, and Alfonso must fill the boots of Izretar if he is to be considered a success.

11. Kalia Canildo*, LW/LB, 24 - Corinthian Spirits
12 Caps, 1 Goal (17 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Perhaps surprisingly for a team with two women coaching, Kalia is only one of two female players selected for this tournament. Comfortable in both defensive and offensive roles on the left, she has, bar the Baptism of Fire, been considered mostly as a left-winger, and now she finds herself back in her regular slot, attacking down the left touch-line. Always able to track back successfully, however, she and Perheira will make any right-winger's task difficult.

15. Christophe Proviia, LM, 29 - Vecchio Victors
19 Caps, 2 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
Proviia was a fairly predicatble choice for the left-midfield spot, as he is simply the best man on the left in the nation. However, he's been overtaken by a woman, Canildo, and must fight hard to get his place back. Though he doesn't get forward all the time, the presence of Canildo in his position should provide all the reasons he needs to play well.

16. Joseph Shakirii, AM, 26 - FC Farça
7 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps at Under-21 Level)
Originally thought to be the next man to replace Izretar in the Number-Eight shirt, he just can't compete when compared with Di Angelo's physical presence. Farça's ace midfielder has talent and tricks in abundance.

21. Juan Oscar, L/DM, 23 - Internashionale
Uncapped (11 Caps at Under-21 Level)
With Starblaydia's midfield requiring a little more bite, the presence of Juan Oscar provides some real teeth in midfield, as well as numerous options down the left-hand side when combined with Canildo and/or Perheira. Tough in the tackle and ever-willing to put his feet in first.

22. Jaime Gomes, R/CM, 22 - Corinthian Spirits
2 Caps (14 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Behind the less-experienced Mora, Gomes' Under-21 performances have placed him fairly high in the nation's pecking order. Solid, if preferring to come inside rather than hug the touchline.

The Forwards
9. Stefan Hinkonnen, CF, 24 - Widdrington Wolves
16 Caps, 6 Goals (17 Caps, 13 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Stefan is an extremely large and powerful Starblaydi forward, who echoes Eomer Hall and Johan Keifner in his immense physical build and style of play. He's one of the Under-21s' highest ever goalscorers, and his better-than one-in-three ratio will be enough to make any defence stand up tall and take note of his presence.

10. Tarquin Fullbright, SC, 26 - Montepool Waves
19 Caps, 12 Goals (7 Caps, 8 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A striker of Starblaydi-Britannican descent, Fullbright made it onto the Under-21s' Top Ten All-Time goalscorers' list in just seven matches at the 1st Di Bradini Cup. He was selected two years later by Betanii Marrones for the 20th AOCAF as a starting striker and top-scored again with five goals in his eight matches as a Starblaydia made it to the Quarter-Finals. Seven goals in eleven Baptism of Fire matches later, including a hat-trick, took his tally to an astonishing twelve goals in nineteen games. He is surely Starblaydia's greatest striker; the best of the modern generation. Expect him to be the go-to guy for Starblaydia's goal-bound threat.

17. Takis Domozis, SC, 33 - Tournetas
12 Caps, 3 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
A good, intelligent all-round striker, who has been panned for his lack of any blistering pace, but three goals in the 20th AOCAF and Baptism of Fire don't come to the talentless, and this veteran is essential in link-up play and often the foil for any strike partner.

18. Lii Chong-sun, SC, 23 - Internashionale
7 Caps, 2 Goals (14 Caps, 4 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A diminutive striker from the Hantown of Corinth, young Lii has a reputable Under-21 goal-scoring record and looks to improve his reputation at every opportunity. Two goals in six appearances at the Baptism of Fire did him credit, and surely he'd break into the starting eleven soon, if it wasn't for the excellent partnership of Hinkonnen and Fullbright.

23. Durval Marbek^, SC, 30 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
4 Caps (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
The last man/dwarf to be picked, and though he's the least-likely striker to play, he provides a different, if much shorter, dimension to Starblaydia's forward play. Very direct, very powerful, very fast, just lacking in goals at international level, something the Dwarf will be looking to remedy, based on his excellent club level performances.

Az-cz
17-11-2007, 14:34
Az-cz roster, to be used during World Cup 38

Federation name: Az-Cz football Federation
Team Nicknames: Gnomes, Adventurers, Robbers, Pinkos
Team Colors: Pink and Green

Formation: The Gnomes are making a major shift in style this cup. For the entirety of their existence the Gnomes have been a midfield oriented team. However with the retirement of many of their key midfielders the Gnomes will be moving into a much more striking kind of football this cup and a 3-4-3 formation where they will be hoping to pour in the goals.

Coaches:

Stuart Abdul-Rahim: The former Bettian manager was lured out of retirement to take over the Gnomes as they moved to their offensive formation. It's hard to think of a better person to than the two time cup winning manager to lead the transformation. Both of the assistant coaches moved onto prime positions in -League, so the whole coaching staff is new.

Be-Lar: One of the best up and coming assistant coaches in -League, where he worked for the Yak Clerics, Abdul-Rahim has picked him out to be the mentor of the defense and the strength and conditioning coach as well.

Kor-Lash: The third full time coach on the staff he is another hand picked youngster. While not a great player himself he is an absolute master of breaking down video and technical football so he will play a big role in game preperation.

Pizelkaxrovsky: He's not a permanent coach, but rather a kind of special advisor. He is mostly a scout for the Jesters, but has been hired to give special training sessions from time to time, on things like penalties and free kicks, passing, and so on.

Roster: After the mass retirements from world cup 37 the defending champions will be taking on a different look. There will be major pressure on the remaining starters and they will have to perform beautifully if they are to advance and win this cup. This is also the first squad with not a single player around from the original Baptism of fire squad. Starters in Green or Pink

Strikers:

#9 - Seoula Vitakiralski

Height: 6'1
Weight: 173 lbs
Age: 16 (536 in Elf Years)
Club Team: Yang Knights

Seoula Vitakiralski is the first ever non-human non-gnome player for the Robbers. His parents immigrated to Fort Ben-Degly where he was born. He struggled adjusting to life in Az-cz cause his parents were very strict with him and didn't let him enjoy things like Kleptochase and those kind of sports. However when he first got a hold of a soccer ball it was apparent that this was what he would do with his life. The Pagoda Ninjas found him and hooked on to him and got them into their training camp when he was the equivalent age of 9. Since then he's become more and more talented and led the league in scoring last season, pushing the Ninja's to their best ever third place finish. Following his fine play in -League and in the cup he quickly earned a huge contract with league power Yang Knights. The SoulElf, as Seoula is known in the -League, will have a lot of support from his teammates and fans, and is one of the most popular players in the league now.

#19 - El-Iot

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 135 lbs
Age: 23
Club Team: Yang Knights

El-Iot finally moved to a bigger club and took advantage, finishing second behind Seoula in scoring and scored the winning goal in the Shangri-La cup. Now they are teammates together on an absolutely frightening front line in the -League. He was the spark on the team last cup and his introduction to the starting line up lead the team to the first title. Now he will be back for a full cup as starter where his killer speed and touch should yield plenty more goals.

#11 - McLaren Kenyon

Height: 6'5"
Weight: 239 lbs
Age: 18
Club Team: Golem Golems

A Bettian Az-czzer Kenyon has developed quite rapidly from last cup. When the last cup was held he was a decent high school player, but with a growth of ten inches in the past two years he has developed incredibly physically and his technical skills have grown to match. He's a bit of a pet project of coach Rahim, but that doesn't mean that his place in the starting eleven is undeserved in any way.

#21 - Fe-Do

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 139 lbs
Age: 28
Club Team: Petardos S/A

Fe-Do has been a sub striker on the squad for a long time and will provide an important strike option off the bench. He is also unquestionably the experienced vet of the side so he will have an important role there as well, guiding what is an incredibly talented, but also incredibly young set of strikers.

#20 - Cro-Mg

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 155 lbs
Age: 16
Club Team: Asp Vipers

One of the first wave of the super kids to make the team Cro-Mg seems to be a near duplicate of Lur-Mn. He's just an incredible ball of energy who never ever seems to stop moving and is great at getting rebounded goals. Sometimes his enthusiasm leads him to some reckless play but he's not at all a dirty player. He provides a lot of energy to Az-czid practices.

#18 - Su-Wee

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 155 lbs
Age: 15
Club Team: Toad Meadow Witches

Su-Wee is another member of the kids to step up to the big squad this cup. She also is one of the women who are making Az-cz a co-ed team for the first time. On the field she is problem for opposing teams with great body control that allows her to score goals a lot of others couldn't and with body parts others wouldn't dream of using. Off the field, like all of the young women coming up from the super kids, she is a problem for the men of the world as she is incredibly beautiful but still just 15.

#17 - Tef-Eri

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 135 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Basenji Werewolves

Tef-Eri was a player who benefitted greatly both from all the retirements and the switch to the 3-4-3. He never thought he'd have a chance to make the national team despite his strong presence in the -League. He is an effective scorer in the league despite being far and away the best player on a not very good Werewolves team. While he doesn't expect to see much action as the seventh striker, he is honored to wear the pink and green and will be a valuable addition on the practice field in addition to whatever he can add to the squad on the pitch.

Midfielders:

#7 - Bn-Ct

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 144 lbs
Age: 21
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes

Bn-Ct is the son of former Az-cz national team player Bn-Dg. Like his father Bn-Ct is an attacking midfielder. His father was a good player but Bn-Ct looks to be an even greater player. After a long stretch of learning on the bench waiting behind great players like Kn-Dg, Pizelkaxrovsky and James Levesque he is ready to take on a big role on this team. Along with Ho-Lee Chung he will be the second wave of attackers behind the front three.

#12 - Ho-Lee Chung

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 165 lbs
Age: 31
Club Team: Golem Golems

Ho-Lee Chung has established himself as a key part of the attack force for the squad. With Levesque and Kn-Dg retiring Chung now finds himself as the old man of the attacking midfield. He is not the talent that Bn-Ct is on the other side of the pitch but he is still a very dangerous player from the midfield and with the defenders having so many weapons to worry about he will find the net on a number of occasions this cup.

#10 - Hu-35

Height: 5'1"
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 29
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes

Hu-35 is back for his seventh cup making him one of the most experienced players on the team. He's now the key player of this midfield moving back to the center of midfield where he will be expected to guide the team. While his main job will be to set up all of his weapons he is a very talented player himself and can punishm teams who forget about him. However his attacking
mindset does mean that he is one of the bigger question marks on the team, although a very talented question mark.

#6 - Jorge Shockey

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 190 lbs
Age: 27
Club Team: Burlock Jesters

Jorge Shockey's importance to this team can't be overstated. Not only is he the main line of defense from midfield he is also the new team captain, taking the arm band from Kn-Dg. Shockey provides a very physical player and a sharp mind as well with great skill. While his abilities might go a bit unrecognized on such an attacking squad in the eyes of many he is the most
talented player on the team. In his short stint in Cafundeu he was viewed as the best midfielder by some of the media there, so he has shown his skill in multiple nations. Now that he has returned to Az-cz he will be ready to lead this team to great heights.

#8 - Youn Ji-Hyun

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 106 lbs
Age: 16
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers

Youn Ji-Hyun is the top midfield back up on this squad, and some consider her to be the best non starter on the whole team. Another one of the Super Kids she has become an attacking midfielder by nature. With good height and great speed and touch she provides a dangerous spark on the team. She is also an absolute knockout and has been voted best looking athlete in Az-cz, despite competing against Klepto-dancers who compete naked and are compete in a sport about flexibility and movement.

#15 - Karzog Hemabubulin

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 205 lbs
Age: 23
Club Team: Cloud Harpies

Joining all of the Gnomes, elfs and humans on this squad is a Starblaydian dwarf, born and raised in Jez-Jez Town, leaving the team just a half-orc short of all the races of Az-cz's legendary adventuring party. Karzog is a mass of pure muscles that allows him to fight for the ball all over the field and gives him a wicked powerful shot that he uses to blast out shots on goal. He also has a good technical mind that make him somewhere between a central and attacking midfielder. He'll definitely see playing time this cup off the bench, especially against more physical opponents.

#14 - Anthony Byrd

Height: 6'0"
Weight: 245 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Yang Knights

Byrd is a bruising punishing midfielder. He really likes to get involved and dirty deep in the box and is totally unbothered by physical play. He lacks the technical experise that most Az-czzers have but his insatiable motor and physical size help him compensate for those lacks, although even his technical skill is improving, and he has now moved up in the midfield from a pure defensive midfield role into a more central slot.

#16 - Ab-Sol

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 166 lbs
Age: 28
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers

Although he was originally a pure defender he has since developed into a defensive midfielder and is a very strong defensive presence in the midfield, although not the all around player that Jorge Shockey is. In terms of raw ability he might be the least talented player on the team, but he is a great worker and has an indominable spirit. If he needs to play he'll do a good job and what he adds to the practice pitch and locker room is also quite valuable. Some expect that this will be his last cup as there are a number of good youngsters pushing for playing time and he's getting up in years.

Defenders:

#2 - Haji-Me

Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195 lbs
Age: 29
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers

Haji-Me is huge as Gnome players go. With Nerazzurri's retirement he is now the veteran leader of the defense. His role in attack will be held back a bit, although he will still be the main defender to sneak forward in Zax-Im's 90 minutes of chaos philosophy. Although he likes to get into the attack he has truly improved his abilities as a pure defender. He's definitely a world class defender and will be extra motivated this cup as he wants to improve on the defensive showing from last cup, where it seems as though the team won in spite of its defense and because he has already announced that he will be retiring after this cup.

#3 - Ca-Fu

Height: 5'8
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Golem Golems

Ca-Fu has flown up the ladder from suprise selection to substitute to starter to the head of the defense in the middle. He is looking as if he might go down as the greatest Az-cz defender ever if he can continue his current ascension. His defensive instincts are incredible and he uses his physical abilities well even though he isn't the biggest defender going. He also has a great instinct for starting counter attacks and makes great passes. Now is his time to shine and really push the Gnomes defense to greater heights.

#4 - Hi-Kui

Height: 4'9
Weight: 111 lbs
Age: 21
Team: Yang Knights

Hi-Kui came out of nowhere to earn the third defensive spot in world cup 37. And the reason is that he was so unknown was that he had actually been living in Ariddia for the past 12 years. He was born in Mil-Bax but moved to Ariddia when he was 6. He only came back one year ago when the Yang Knights signed him. They expected him to be a sub only based on both his size and unknown quantities. But from the first day of training he showed his skills that he learned playing in Ariddia. He has blazing speed and just about perfect instincts, which is how he compensates for his incredibly small stature. He is expected to be a much more stable member of the back line now that he has a whole cup of experience under his belt.

#5 - Cn-Vro

Height: 5'2
Weight: 145 lbs
Age: 15
Team: Vertigo Slimes

Like Bn-Ct he is the son of a former player, Ns-Ta. He's grown a good bit since last cup and is stil growing, and his game is doing the same. He has moved past La-Yu in the pecking order and is the top substitute defender. As he grows into his body and learns more tricks of the game he will become an even better defender than he already is. He is definitely first in line for a starting position next cup and should get some experience in the matches against lower level opponents, friendlies and games the Gnomes have already clinched.

#13 - La-Yu

Height: 5'3
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 30
Club Team: Cloud Harpies

La-Yu hasn't developed as much as was hoped, but he is still a strong defender who won't ruin the Az-cz side if he is forced into action. He won't see much action but he will definitely make the attacking players work hard during practices. For a 23rd player he is pretty good, but he is definitely the 23rd player on this squad.

Goalies:

#1 - Haz-Tp

Height: 4'11"
Weight: 115 lbs
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Age: 19

Haz-Tp is considered a freak amongst goalkeepers. He is very short but his incredible athleticism makes up for it. He has the athletic ability to play any other sport or any other position on the pitch, but somehow someone convinced him that his 60" vertical leap and incredible reflexes would be well suited in goal. And how right they are. Many players think they have goals that he plucks out of the air. He is well on his way to becoming a great goalie. He is both the present and the future of Az-cz goaltending and should be the starter for a long time.

#22 - Gu-Drox

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 155 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 25

Gu-Drox took over from Bu-Lv on the Clerics and made a big impression on the league. Thanks to the strong training program most Az-czzers are pretty well known by a pretty well age and rarely does the national side get blinded side, but Gu-Drox was just a case. He really came on and now is the definite second keeper on this squad. While he is not nearly the talent that Haz-Tp is, he should be a solid second keeper for a number of cups.

#23 - Leh-Mn

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 175 lbs
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Age: 31

Leh-Mn was selected as the third goal tender for his height and experience. He is not expected to see any playing time at all this cup but is a solid keeper in the -League.

Representation from the -League Professional teams:

1. Yang Knights (3/4)
2. Red Dwarf Rangers (2/4)
3. Vertigo Slimes (2/4)
4. Golem Golems (3/3)
5. Burlock Jesters (1/1)
6. Clouds Harpies (0/2)
7. Yak Clerics (0/1)
8. Darzog Mages
9. Pagoda Ninjas
10. Toad Meadow Witches (0/1)
11. Nightshadow Vampires
12. Basenji Werewolves (0/1)
13. Terror Lichs
14. Sphinx Mummies
15. Winterkill Ghosts
16. Asp Vipers (0/1)

As far as stadium details go all of the stadiums that will be used in this cup are the same as were used in World Cup 33. Az-cz is a nation of thieving peace loving generous socialists. It is a sort of Utopian place where few people where clothes except as necessary for work or weather.

Interviews: We will allow interviews from Az-cz or interviews of any Az-czzers. Any player or coach, or director Juxt-Pat is available for interviews. Anybody else is also available for interviews, but they haven't been created in character. As far as Az-cz media organizations the main ones would be the Az-cz scroll or the -Sports channel's main soccer reporter former
striker Lur-Mn.

RPs: I am willing to accommodate almost any kind of RP if you let me know what you want to do ahead of time.

Bettia World Cup 38 Squad

Thanks to the bizarre situation in which every able-bodied person in Bettia over the age of twelve simultaneously suffered a broken leg, the Football Association of Bettia has been forced to scour the nation's primary schools in order to find the cream of Bettia's young footballers. Thankfully, Bettian children are indoctrinated into the wonderful world of football at an early age so skillwise they can hold their own, although they'll obviously lack the height and physical prescence of their adult counterparts. Not exactly the best build-up a nation could hope for in their bid to once again be crowned champions of the world, but these things happen to the best of us...

Playing Style

In keeping with the typically gung-ho way the grown-ups play football, Bettia will be playing with as positive a style modifier as possible (+5), utilising a highly attacking 2-5-3 / 2-3-5 formation. Well, that's the plan anyway - being kids, their training will sometimes go out of the window as they'll occasionally forget about positioning and formations, comically running after the ball in one big group.

Roleplaying

If RPing first, the FAB give our opponents permission
to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like,
short of killing or maiming anyone... but go easy on the kids please -
they're only little.

Second Kit: Blue and white quartered shirts, blue shorts (this kit is always worn against any teams playing in predominantly red strips)

National Stadium: Tiddles Park Stadium, Gabalfa (capacity 102,000 - approx 50,000 seated)
All of Bettia's matches are played at their national stadium. Full information about Tiddles Park Stadium, including history, photos, seating arrangements and public transport, can now be found at the stadium's NS-Wiki article (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Tiddles_Park_Stadium)

A few facts about Bettia:
Bettians are well-known for their politeness and friendliness, a fact backed up by many 'reliable' UN reports.
Bettia is a mainly muslim country, so any fans looking to have an away-day piss-up will be very disappointed. Our local tea and scones are very popular though, as are the famous Butetown meat pies which are widely available from many outlets around the stadium.
Bettia is renowned for its natural beauty and glorious tropical weather, so any visiting fans wanting to make a vacation of their match are more than welcome. Favourite holiday destinations include the south coast (with its many pristine beaches and clear blue waters) and the Banastra Rainforest.
Bettians are legendary for their dislike of the colour red due to its association with all things evil - hell, Satan, fire, anger, rage etc. In many cases, this exhibits itself as a phobia that can leave the average Bettian a gibbering wreck. Visiting teams who normally wear red as part of their national strip are kindly requested not to do so. However, we do have a defence against this - the patented Azurlens(tm) blue-tinted sunglasses which made their debut at World Cup 33 to great effect, which help to nullify their opponents' evil redness.
Bettians love football so much that giant screens are now a permanent fixture in many cities and towns. International matches are treated as though they were national holidays, around which huge crowds gather in their thousands to see the game. Away supporters without tickets are more than welcome to come to Bettia and make use of these facilities in Gabalfa city centre together with the locals.
Details of our national anthem, map, currency and many other interesting and not-so-interesting facts can be found at the Bettia Wiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Bettia).

Manager:
Amir Bettison
Another of Bettia's heroes of their early days, Bettison stepped into the gap left by his former team-mate Stuart Abdul-Rahim after the World Cup winning manager's well-earned retirement. He soon followed in his former team-mate's footsteps by leading Bettia to their second World Cup in WC35. Despite being a goalkeeper, he pledged to retain the all-out attack that has made the Aroras into a feared team. This will be Amir's fourth World Cup in charge of the Bettian team, and this should be by far his most challenging.

Assistant Manager:
Mrs Saundersfoot
A 4th grade teacher at Stellville Primary School, Mrs Saundersfoot was selected as Bettison's assistant thanks to her coaching her school's under-10 football team to the national title. The team like her because she's 'a very kind nice lady' and tells a good story.

Probable starting eleven shown in BOLD

Goalkeepers
1. Paul 'Snotty' Anderson - age 9, Waltham Southside Primary School, Waltham, Gabalfa
Snotty Anderson was a natural choice for goalkeeper - out of all the players, he enjoys getting muddy the most. His favourite colour is blue, and his favourite flavour of crisp is pickled onion.

2. Hassan bin Jaffar - age 12, Madrassa Sultan Tamrida, Tamrida, Al-Maghrib province
Despite being the oldest member of the team, young Hassan loves nothing more than to jump around on his bed. Naturally, all this leaping about the place makes him a good goalkeeper, although he is still rather wary about getting grass stains on his knees.

Defence
3. Billy 'Biffa' Barkley - age 11, Matson Green Primary School, Gloucester, Clodien province
The tallest member of the team. Standing at a towering 5'4", Talha is well-known in the local school circuit as expert header of the ball. He's also known to be rather fearless in the tackle, even if it is against a fully-grown adult. His hobbies include teasing aroras (he really is a little bastard).

4. Tino Yanti - age 9, Ratu Wirajana Primary School, Subarnas, Bahagia province
Young Tino's a rare thing, a thing that could prove very useful to Bettian football in the future - he's not afraid of the colour red. In fact, he absolutely loves it. Needless to say, he's not very popular in school and tends to spend a lot of time alone playing with himself (but not like that). When he grows up, he wants to be a fireman, or a footballer, or an astronaut, or a billionaire. Or all of them.

5. Mark Jeffries - age 10, North Portway Junior School, Portway, Gabalfa
Mark doesn't really like playing in defence, but he's too quiet to tell anyone so he just puts his head down and gets on with the job. He's a real workhorse at the back, but he dreams of being a star striker so more often than not he'll venture upfield to see if he can grab a bit of glory for himself.

Midfield
6. Johnny 'Crybaby' Levy - age 6, Elishabeth Kadma Infant School, Butetown, Gabalfa (captain)
Little Johnny Levy is the youngest member of the team and perhaps surprisingly was named the captain, although this decision was taken after he threatened to hold his breath until his face turned blue unless he got his own way. He shows definite promise as a central midfielder, with a real talent for passing the ball. However, his constant temper tantrums can be rather annoying, as can his habit of kicking the shins of anyone he doesn't like.

7. Isaac Jacobson - age 10, West Brooklands Secondary School, Lorshill, Clodien province
A young lad with a never-say-die attitude, Jacobson is the archetypical terrier in central midfield - small, nippy, and not afraid to step in with a niggly tackle or two. Strangely enough for an archetypal terrier, he hates dogs but love cats.

8. Isa Anyuna - age 10, Inahri Junior School, Charlotte's Corner, Banastra province
Isa would much rather be watching cartoons than playing football, but he loves the Aroras so much he jumped at the chance to take part in this World Cup, passing his local trials with flying colours. A good job too as he's a tough lad who can head the ball as good as anyone his age (or even a few years older).

9. Muhaimin Varney - age 8, Imam Al-Asri School, Zinjibar, Al-Maghrib province
Muhaimin is best known in his town for memorising the entire Qur'an when he was just five years old. He's also proven to be a talented young footballer, showing moves on the ball which some say are divinely inspired.

Wingers:
10. M'an Gwent - age 11, Riverside Academy of Technology, Pifton, Gabalfa
A clever kid from the newly-opened technical academy, M'an shows great intelligence on the ball (for an eleven-year-old anyway), making him a naturally-gifted winger. He's also a whizz at building all sorts of robotic toys.

11. Lasu Cowler - age 8, Newfields Primary School, Lanteglos Higher, Banastra province
A zippy little winger whose hyperactivity means he can dash up and down the wing all day long, seemingly without getting in the least bit tired. Unfortunately, he doesn't always know when to stop, no matter how hard the ref blows his whistle. As long as we keep him off the coffee, we should be just fine.

12. Darren Al-Amri - age 9, Atherton Green Primary School, Loudoun, Gabalfa
Al-Amri comes from a footballing family - his father played over 400 games for local team Loudoun Rovers, as did both his grandfathers. Now he's following in their footsteps and hoping to do them proud. He's capable of a trick or two, although he hasn't quite got the knack of doing the fancy turns his daddy used to do, more often than not tripping over the ball (or his bootlaces).

Forwards:
13. Akim al-Sikamiya - age 10, Royal Institute for the Blind, At-Tâf, Al-Maghrib province
Despite being partially blind from birth, young Akim has shown that he somehow has a natural instinct for scoring goals. He attributes this to his imaginary pet black Arora called Toby, who he says stays with him constantly and guides him around the pitch.

14. Tess Barkley - age 9, Dairford Junior School, Dairford, Gabalfa
Young Tessie Barkley is the most famous member of the team, having appeared in numerous TV commercials for Bettia's favourite cartoon channel. Extremely sweet and cute, she makes history as the first girl to represent Bettia in any sport. She enjoys football, dancing, singing, and playing with the fairies that live at the bottom of her garden.[/size

15. Llifon Rhys - age 7, Ysgol Mynydd Fawr, Pen-y-Bydd, Gwlad Teg province
[size=1]The son of former Bettian international striker Peredur Rhys, seven-year-old Llifon has the chance to follow in his dad's footsteps a little earlier than expected. He certainly has the skill and the ability - unfortunately he also has a tendency to wet himself if he gets nervous. Let's just hope he can hold his nerve when playing a home match in front of over a hundred thousand people.

16. Jamil Jenkins - age 10, Ysgol Y Lawnt, Lledrod, Gwlad Teg province
Young Jenkins is the class joker at his school and it shows on the pitch. He loves playing practical jokes, especially tying the laces of his opponent's boots together. Luckily, he also shows promise as a great striker of the ball - he once scored a goal against his dad from outside the penalty area.

17. Hywel Llud - age 8, Ysgol Glan yr Afon, Dinas Blodwyn, Gwlad Teg province
It has been said by the team management that Hywel Llud is takilan through and through - he thinks defending is for girls. It's unsurprising that this little mysoginist-in-the-making can't kind quite understand why Tessie Barkley is playing up front, least still understand just how she can be better at shooting than him.

18. Padarn Willis - age 9, Rosewood Junior School, Ryoga Bay, Clodien province
Padarn dreams of being a brave soldier, flying into battle on his trusty giant flying ant as he fights for the glory of Bettia. In the meantime he's more than happy to pour his fighting spirit in playing football for his country, or at least shouting himself hoarse from the subs bench.

Northern Bettia World Cup 38 Squad

Style Modifier
Northern Bettia play in a standard 4-4-2 formation - due to their infamous tactics however, a maximum style modifier (+5) would be most appropriate here.

Roleplaying
If RPing first, the FANB (Football Association of Northern Bettia)
give our opponents permission to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like.

Given our 'unorthodox' tactics (see below), there will probably be red and
yellow cards aplenty on both sides.

The management of the Northern Bettian national team have recently developed
a liking for using voodoo to knobble their opponents. Who knows what mysterious
shennigans will befall our opponents? However, our resident witch doctor
hasn't quite mastered this dark art, so occasionally this wonderful new
tactic can backfire.

Northern Bettian fans are notorious hooligans, with their main gang being
called the Yuna Crew. More often than not, rival footballing nations ban
Northern Bettian fans from travelling to their nations, but they find
'ingenious' ways of slipping the net into the country. Opposition players,
supporters and police can expect trouble by the shedload.

Second Kit: Sky blue shirts with a dark blue sash, dark blue shorts
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/bettia/nbet-shirt.gif

National Stadium: Sakura Park, Anyuna (capacity 75,000 - approx 35,000 seated)
Although rather basic by modern standards, Sakura Park can still produce a match to remember for fans. Nestled in the eastern coastal suburbs of the capital city, Sakura Park has large banks of terracing at either end with all-seater grandstands lining the two sides.

A few facts about Northern Bettia:
Northern Bettians are well-known for their rowdiness and drunkeness, especially the feared Yuna Crew, a gang of hardcore hooligans who continually aim to make a name for themselves as the hardest firm in the NS-world (usually without much success).
Northern Bettia is environmentally a bit of a mess, with the interim government more concerned with bolstering miltary strength than cleaning up. A number of Northern Bettia's sporting teams are made up of military personnel who play football part-time, as do a few of the Fire Ants squad.
Some interesting and not-so-interesting facts about Northern Bettia can be found at the Northern Bettia Wiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Northern_Bettia)

Manager:
Iwan Obani
A shrewd, calculating character who instilled into his squad a unique tactic of bending the rules at every opportunity, making the Fire Ants as difficult to play against as possible.

Assistant Manager:
Baron Vendredi
The real name of this mysterious fellow is currently unknown. What is known is that he is well versed (although far from perfect) in the black art of voodoo, the Fire Ants' latest attempt to take cheating to a whole new level.

Team Tactics:
The Fire Ants employ a rather unique tactic in which they attempt to gain the upper hand by getting as many of their opponents sent off as possible, leading many to accuse the Fire Ants of being a right bunch of bloody cheats (and they'd be right). Hacking, diving, feigning injury, all sorts of ref-conning activity - Northern Bettia have quickly turned dirty play into a fine art. This style of play (dubbed System Obani by inept tabloid journalists) has had mixed results in the past - it sometimes works well, but when it backfires, it backfires spectacularly (hence the style modifier).

Here's how the RPing goes:
IF YOU ARE DOING A MATCH REPORT
You may choose scorers, and distribute Yellow Cards.
IF YOU ARE NOT
Feel free to use your imagination- you have free reign over all on-field activity. In fact, using your imagination is a requirement- no dullness may take place in a Casaran match. I ask you to hold back on Red Cards and any serious injuries without asking me first, but definitely feel free to ask- I have and will always be a promoter of creativity, at the expense of the health of my imaginary players, but I don't want plans thrown off because you wanted to break eight legs.

Information and Notes
-Casari will be playing home games at the brand new Tyrellia World Stadium, holding a disgusting 110,393 fans with two complete seating areas and a third high altitude terrace on the ends, made of the classic Casaran Method of soaring steel girders and marble facade. Try not to burn it down.

-Casarans will do what Casarans have done for years- drink, do bizarre things on dares, drink, sleep in parks, drink, goof off, and drink. As well, they will ignore most of the etiquette of soccer, mock your pregame rituals (they will laugh at them, especally the Ulek, which might promote some kind of drinking game among the fans with each useless grunt), being nice (they'll come up with nasty chants about your team, manager, mothers, fathers, and other associates and post them on the internet), and won't mind taking a run at your best player (they just don't care).

ANOTHER SEASON, ANOTHER WORLD CUP!

(OOC: Cafundéu’s players are two years older than in WC 37)

Style: +3

CAFUNDÉU RELEASES THE OFFICIAL LIST OF PLAYERS FOR THE 38th WORLD CUP

(Lasft, Cafundéu) – Many changes in the CCFM after the good campaign of the country in World Cup 37, but the coach is the same. Franz Braddock showed that he is one of the best tacticians of the world and the best coach from Cafundéu, and continues in the job. Because of that, the main players of the team continue in the National Team, including the experienced Anormal and Heitor.

Now, Cafundéu wants to take the next step, reaching the semifinals of the World Cup. After being in the quarterfinals in the last two competitions, the CCFM thinks that this is possible, but some supporters don’t believe in it.

See the list of the 23 players:

Goalkeepers:

1-LAURO Navarro Vasconcelos (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 186cm - Weight: 72kg – Age: 28 years old
In excellent form, Lauro finally won the place of first goalkeeper of the National Team, with great reflexes. Now, he is playing in Petardos S/A, and he is surprising everyone with great saves, commanding the defence of his team. He is an eccentric goalkeeper, who likes to take free kicks too (he won’t have this chance in the National Team). He is also very intelligent.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WCs 35/36/37

12-Lucas DUTRA (Team: São José)
Height: 202cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 30 years old
A serious goalkeeper, who doesn’t like to talk with the press and wants to stay focused on the game. He is playing well at the moment, and deserved to go to the National Team. His team is of the Second Division of the domestic league, but he decided to stay as, in his opinion, he is too old for a move. And, as everyone knows that he is a good keeper, he was called to the National Team.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: C - Form: B
PLAYED WC 36

22-MOISÉS Salgado Alves (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 199cm - Weight: 102kg – Age: 25 years old
A good goalkeeper, who was able to get a chance in the National Team. As Braddock likes players who play for big teams, Moisés was chosen. He is a strong goalkeeper, who is good at tackling too (difficult to be dribbled). Sometimes he is a bit violent, but he is a kind person. He also drinks a lot of water, and when he plays, you can see a big gallon (10L) of water next to his goal.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WC 37

Right Defenders:

2-Leonardo Macedo de Mattos "LÉO MATTOS" (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 26 years old
A fast, intelligent and offensive full-back, who can play in both sides of the field, although he prefers the right side. He lacks some defensive abilities, so he suits better in an offensive strategy, as he has speed and good passing and shooting abilities. Another cup for this experienced player. He has developed a lot, and now is surely the best full-back of the whole National Team, and one of the best players of the entire team.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 34/35/36/37

16-Vinícius Nogueira COELHO (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 77kg – Age: 30 years old
A player who showed some talent for many years in Pernetas EC, and got a chance to go to the National Team, something that happened just after he was bought by the billionaire Petardos S/A. After being out of World Cup 37 due to an injury, he returns to the team. He is an extremely fast right-back, with average passing, but good positioning. He also likes to attack and take corner kicks, and he can be a good weapon for Cafundéu.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 35/36

Left Defenders:

6-Antônio Machado Veiga "TONINHO" (Team: Central United)
Height: 185cm – Weight: 86kg – Age: 27 years old
Toninho played for all the National Teams for youngsters in Cafundéu, and now reaches the main team. An intelligent player, who can predict what his opponents will do, he is very good at set pieces and very tactician. He has a good passing ability, and defends well, but doesn’t score much goals. He is very resistant too, it’s difficult for him to get injured. He has a lot of fans, and is very respected.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A
PLAYED WC 36/37

13-Vítor Tukambé Sampaio ÍNDIO (Team: América)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 19 years old
Índio is a very impressive player. Very young and playing for a team of the Second Division of the league, he was able to get into the main national team after the injuries of Leandro Cavalo and Vital. Now he has the opportunity of being in the team and play in a World Cup. He has speed, good passing and is excellent at long ranged shots. His defensive abilities aren’t so good, and he usually doesn’t talk with the other players very much. He also lacks tactical knowledge.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: B

Central Defenders:

3-EDUARDO MONTE Castelo Casagrande (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 25 years old
Eduardo Monte was just a promising youngster of the Sub-23 team, but he impressed the whole world with his speed and perfect long passes. He defends well, but needs the help of a more experienced defender to be successful. After playing for some time in the National Team, he went to giants Petardos S/A, and improved a lot as a player there, and now is the best defender of the country.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 35/36/37

4-Carlos Mendonça Santos "CARLÃO" (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 200cm - Weight: 114kg – Age: 22 years old
The rock in Clube Imperial’s defence. Carlão isn’t considered a talented defender, but his strength scares the attackers and transforms him in a good player. Good at heading too, can score some goals and has a strong shot from outside the area. Now, Carlão became a starter of the National Team. As Braddock likes to use big defenders to hold a positive result, Carlão entered in the team.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: C - Form: B
PLAYED WC 37

14-Guilherme Frota SOUZA (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 24 years old
Souza was the team mate of Eduardo Monte in EC Elville, when the team made a surprising campaign in the National League. Now, both went to different teams, and Souza now is in a team known for its excellent defense (first Atlético Jutense, now Ranca Toco). He is more fast than the other defenders, but has less physical strength. He can start some counterattacks and can even play as a full-back in the right or left wing if needed. After a bad season, Souza went to the bench of the National Team.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: C
PLAYED WC 36/37

21-Ânderson Wesher LOBATO (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 21 years old
A player in good form, Lobato is a promising defender who likes to use his physical strength to take the ball from his opponent. He is not violent, but he makes many fouls. He is good at positioning, and usually helps the coach in organizing the defence. But his passing is far from perfect, and because of that he will stay on the bench, having few opportunities in the main team.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A

Defensive Midfielders:

5-Mukulaiê Bakarangobadah Zulaiêká "ANORMAL" (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 235cm - Weight: 184kg – Age: 31 years old
A monster in the field, Anormal has a strange past. His father is a famous scientist, and his mother is unknown. Many sources say that Anormal is an experience made by his father, but this is only a theory. Anormal is surely the best player of the team. Taller (and still growing) and heavier than any other player of the team, he has more abilities than anyone. Great physical strength, very fast and is good at everything (heading, shooting, passing, tacking). His only weakness is that he doesn't want to hurt his opponent, so he tries to get the ball in a gentle way, being dribbled sometimes. But everybody loves him and he'll surely play all the games.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 32/33/34/35/36/37

15-Carlos VERGARA (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 173cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 27 years old
The most talented of the Cafundó do Juta twins (he and Túlio Vergara, an attacker), Carlos Vergara started to play in the main team of Cafundó do Juta two seasons ago, and showed a lot of quality, getting a place in the B National Team in his first season as a starter. After solid seasons (he has few excellent games, but nearly no bad games), he started to be considered one of the best midfielders of the country, and got a place in the NT after Barbosa got injured. He has a very good ball control and passing ability.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WC 37

17-Enzo DEL VALLE (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 170cm - Weight: 74kg – Age: 25 years old
After many seasons appearing in the list of the best defensive midfielders of the Cafundelense league, Del Valle finally went to the main National Team, something which opened a door to Dunboor FC, leaving Clube Comercial. A solid player, who usually does his job without making mistakes, Del Valle is good at creating plays too, and can start some attacks, even being a defensive player. With a accurate pass, he can put attackers in front of the goal. He is also very friendly and likes to tell jokes. He is married with a famous actress, so his personal life is shown in most magazines of Cafundéu.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: B

Neutral Midfielders:

8-Thiago Pardal "RATO" (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 162cm – Weight: 56kg – Age: 24 years old
Another ex-player of Galáxia, Rato is a fantastic midfielder. Usually playing in a more offensive role, he is an excellent dribbler. His dribbles are incredible, it seems that he can do whatever he wants with the ball. His passes are very good too, and can put the attacker in front of the goal with just the keeper to beat. He has a lot of speed too, and an average defensive ability. His main problem is that he is horrible at heading, so he won’t participate in aerial plays. He is also a very modest person, who doesn’t consider himself a key player of the National Team.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WC 36/37

20-ÉVERTON Muniz Costa (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 74kg – Age: 22 years old
Playing in the youth teams of Petardos S/A since he was 8 years old, Éverton became an excellent player. People say that he doesn’t have any natural talent, but after training for so many years, he learnt how to play football. He can play as either a defensive or a offensive midfielder, and his strong point is his vision of the game. He can predict plays and start some good counterattacks, and is also good at heading. Now, he is a starter in his team and has the confidence of the fans, but he need more if he wants to stay in the National Team, as his last performances weren’t so good.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: C

Attacking Midfielders:

7-Marcelo Augusto Lafaiete "MARCELINHO" (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 165cm - Weight: 68kg – Age: 26 years old
Another player coming from Galáxia. Marcelinho was considered one of the weakest players of the team, but his performances in the last seasons opened the eyes of those that criticized him. He was only able to show his true potential after four seasons playing in the starting team of Galáxia. Now that his team is in the First Division of the league, he must show more ability. He is a creative player, good in dribbling and passing.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: B
PLAYED WC 37

10-Jorge Benazzi NETO (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 168cm - Weight: 65kg – Age: 27 years old
Specialist in crossings and free kicks, Neto has a lot to offer for the National Team. He is good at dribbling and finishing, but doesn’t like to get involved in defensive plays. His heading ability is not so good too, and he gets tired quickly. So, he usually stays in the midfield waiting for a pass. In the media, he is known as the statue, because he stays in the same place for most of the time. But when he gets the ball, he surely will make an excellent play, or score a goal from a free kick.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: C - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WC 36/37

19-CARLOS MAGNO Gerdau de Oliveira (Team: Clube Imperial)
Height: 181cm – Weight: 85kg – Age: 23 years old
This arrogant player knows that he is good, and probably the best dribbler of the whole country. He likes to humiliate his opponents, nutmegging them and making many stepovers and moves showing his ability. Sometimes he reaches the attack with them, but there are times that the moves aren’t useful. He is also good at passing and shooting, but doesn’t like to defend and likes to receive special treatment from the coach and from his team mates. He also avoids the press, although he loves to appear on the television.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: C – Morale: C – Form: A

Attackers:

9-Ivan Moutinho Gomes "FLECHA" (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 164cm - Weight: 60kg - Age: 26 years old
The most promising “wonderkid” of Galáxia SC, Flecha has more technique than the other attackers, but lacks physical strength. Main responsible for the rise of Galáxia in the lower leagues, he is now in SC Lasft. Now, four players from Galáxia are already in the NT (Rato, Marcelinho (Ferreira in WC 36), Flecha and Dário). He is really fast (his nickname means arrow in english) and has a good finishing, but isn’t too good in making assistances.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
PLAYED WCs 35/36/37

11-HEITOR Abbade (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 72kg - Age: 31 years old
Has a very good finishing too. He wasn’t a goalscorer, but in the last years he is scoring many goals for the NT. His heading isn't accurate and his dribbling is far from perfect, but his passing is good. He likes to press the opponent defender and try to take the ball from him. He also can create some goal chances. When he is not playing he works in the CCFM judging the referees, and has a good future as a player. He also has a good relationship with the media.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 32/33/34/35/36/37

18-Kléber Tenório FERREIRA (Team: Galáxia)
Height: 186cm – Weight: 90kg – Age: 28 years old
A good attacker who plays for a team known for revealing stars that are now playing in Cafundéu’s NT. Ferreira is a typical goal maker. He stays in the area, waiting for a crossing or a good pass and, when he receives the ball with conditions to score a goal, it’s difficult for him to not score. Ferreira is also a natural leader, but won’t be the captain (it’ll be Anormal). He doesn’t talk much with the media, avoiding it, so not much is known about his personal life.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: B
PLAYED WC 36

23-FABRÍCIO Nogueira (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 190cm – Weight: 99kg – Age: 21 years old
A young star that suddenly received a lot of media attention, and moved teams again (3 times in 3 seasons). Now he is in a big club, and now wants to take the next step going to the starting eleven of the National Team. But the situation isn’t easy. He is clearly worse than the other attackers of the team, although he has a lot of determination and is very tall, something that helps him at heading the ball, and, as a result, gives him more physical strength. So, he can appear in some matches.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

Staff:

Coach: Franz BRADDOCK (Former Petardos S/A coach)
Height: 183cm - Weight: 96kg – Age: 70 years old
One of the best midfielders of Cafundéu's history, Franz Braddock was extremely motivated, determinated and tactical. And he continues with these abilities as a coach. After coaching many great teams and winning a lot of trophies, he was an unanimous choice to return to be the coach of the NT. So, he left Petardos S/A (that now is coached by the Ariddian Christophe Argentier) and started to build a team that suited his style to battle for the objectives of the country. His training is very tough and tiring, he wants to extract the best of his players, and some players don't like this. But he continues being the savior of the country and the only one that can give victories to the team.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Confidence: A
COACH IN WC 32/33/37

Assistant Coach: GANZ IJAK
Height: 182cm - Weight: 93kg - Date of Birth: 42 years old
The legend. The player who carried the team to qualify for World Cup 32, when Cafundéu was just the Baptism of Fire runner-up nation. The CCFM hired Ijak to help Braddock. In fact, Ijak was hired because of his popularity, which would be good for the morale of the players, as Braddock can do all the job alone, without help. It was a good marketing move too, as Ijak has a good relationship with the fans.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Confidence: C
PLAYER IN WCs 32/33/34

Spy: PAI Oxossi de Guibar DINAH
Height: 158cm - Weight: 64kg – Age: 92 years old
Pai Dinah(or Pai Oxossi) is the spy of the team. He says that he can discover the most deeper secrets of the opponent talking with the opponent players and using his secret talents. He is a very strange person and many people say that he is crazy. But he does his work well, and most of the times he discover the secrets of the enemy.

Physical Trainer:Ricardo Emanuel "TROVÃO" (Former Clube Imperial)
Height: 189cm - Weight: 108kg – Age: 59 years old
Trovão was mantained by Braddock because the players like him. He has a lot of knowledge about physical training, and uses it to give some advice for the players. He likes to run with the players during morning, and because of that some players become friends of him. His training style is simple, and can be adapted according to the opponent.

P.TRAINER IN WC 36/37

Entertainer: SERGINHO MALLANDRO (Former TV Gazeta)
Height: 175cm - Weight: 88kg - Date of Birth: ???(above 50 years old)
The players and the staff need to be relaxed to play all the games. So, Serginho Mallandro's job is to make jokes, play games and help to make everybody happy. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying with his phrases like "Glu-glu", or "Bilu-bilu tetéia" and other ones, and even the directors don't like him very much, but he will stay with the NT. He also works with the female NT.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: C - Morale: B - Confidence: D

Doctor: Dr. TATIANA MORAES (Former Faculdade de Medicina)
Height: 175cm - Weight: 62kg – Age: 38 years old
After Cecília left the country to work as a doctor in a famous foreign hospital, the CCFM went after a substitute. Tatiana has been working with football players since she got her degree, so she was a natural option for the job. She does her job well, although some older doctors wanted her place.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Confidence: B
DOCTOR IN WC 36/37

The Directors:

President of the CCFM: Counselor-Minister of Sports Erasmo Carlos JOWENGUARD
Age: 89 years old - Time in the job: 1 year (was the president too 55 years ago, being in the job for 31 years)
Jowenguard's family is one of the founders of the CCFM. He was the president of the CCFM for more than 30 years, but health problems made him renounce. Then, he took the job of director of the National Teams(less important), still having great influence in the CCFM and in the CFFC, choosing the NT coach and changing some things that he shouldn't change(I won't give any details about it). But now, he finally agreed to take his former job.
Rating: A - Influence: A - Morale: B - Confidence: A

Director of NTs: SELMIR ARAÚJO
Age: 33 years old - Time in the job: 1 year
Selmir is the son of Globo Multimedia’s president, who was offered the job of director of NTs. Instead of taking the job, he decided to send his son, who is determined but with no experience. As Globo Multimedia has a big influence on football, controlling the schedule of the domestic league and other things, he will have enough influence to do his work properly, with the help of some advisors.
Rating: C - Influence: B - Morale: A - Confidence: B

The formation:

Offensive 4-4-2. The right and left-backs are very offensive, but the defensive midfielders usually don’t go to the attack.

Background Detail: Nothing too absurd happens in Cafundéu. But please note that in Cafundéu you'll have to pay for almost everything. You'll have to pay for the water, food, transport, products, to walk in the road, to receive an answer about something, to complain, to thank, and many other things. Cafundéu also is looking to profit with these qualifiers, so any country with good economy is free to invest here or buy some of our products. Drugs are prohibited and the laws are very strict. The prisons are horrible and the prisoners live in bad conditions, but they have the right to watch the games in Carandirú City for free. Cafundéu's press is also very annoying, as they'll make everything to get some news. More detail in my NSWiki (about government).

Stadiums Used: Cafundéu has many stadiums that are in good conditions to be used for the World Cup qualifiers. After the group draw, the CCFM will release the stadiums that will be used. They will be chosen among the ones in this post: Click here, please (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12955129&postcount=537) (just ignore the comments about WC 36’s group draw and the games that the stadiums hosted).

CHANGES IN LANDAU INSTITUTE'S NATIONAL TEAM

DOCTOR ROGÉRIO LANDAU RELEASES NEW ROSTER - FOR WORLD CUP 38

This time, Estresse Intenso, I mean, Landau Institute, will play with a team that isn't composed just of crazy patients or only doctors. After the failure in the World Cup 37 qualifiers, the president of the Landau Institute, Doctor Rogério Landau, decided to mix patients, doctors and other people in just one team.

"Now I expect more from this team. It has the best that the Institute can offer. And, although we officially are Estresse Intenso's National Team, we would prefer to be called Landau Institute's National Team... or just the Landau Institute... Institute for close friends."

Estresse Intenso is a very dangerous and difficult place to live. Its citizens have to support all the stress resultant of a society that is near to an anarchy. The country itself doesn't have a National Team, but there is one place that has, the only place that doesn't have the pressure of Estresse Intenso's way of life.

Many people from Estresse Intenso succumbed to the stress. Most of them became crazy and couldn't live in the country anymore. So, they went to the Landau Institute, where the stress can be controlled and any craziness signs can be controlled by the many doctors that live there, employed by Doctor Rogério Landau.

All the players of Estresse Intenso's National Team come from the Landau Institute, and there they can train 12 hours per day, every day. Someone can only be considered a doctor after intense study, and the minimum age is of 23 (but few are able to become doctor at this age). Patients come after they become crazy in the "outside world".

To become a professor, the doctors need to keep studying, and only after a specific number of services made for the Landau Institute, a doctor gets this title (it takes approximately twenty years). A professor works together with the commanders of the Institute. The title would suggest that he would start acting as a teacher for young doctors, but this isn't the case.

See the list (use the names in BOLD):

Goalkeepers:

1-Benjamin Toledo DURÃO (patient, sometimes becomes violent without reason)
12-Francisco TUARANA (patient, controlled with medicines)
22-Doctor Octávio SÉRVULO (doctor, an optician)

Defenders:

2-REBECA Holambra (patient, kisses everyone that touches her face)
3-Doctor Wellington QUEVEDO (doctor, a psychiatrist who doesn't believe in supernatural things)
4-Professor Jesus BANGU MELO (doctor, a psychiatrist, one of the main doctors of the Institute)
6-Father ANACLETO the Tactician (monk, main monk from the Institute)
13-HERBERT Lizi Olive (patient, arsonist)
14-Doctor CIRO Penbrandt (doctor, a pneumologist)
20-ÍRIS (she is one of the computer experts of the Institute)
21-Doctor Yuri APARECIDO (doctor, a surgeon)

Midfielders:

5-Doctor César ZETTI (doctor, a general practicioner)
7-José Eduardo Ubirajara "BIRA" (patient, has hallucinations)
8-Doctor Letícia SABIN (doctor, a neurologist, she is a very good player)
11-Professor César SELIC (doctor, a cardiologist)
15-Augusto MIRTILO (patient, for him, the colours change everytime)
16-Professor ALINE Felipo Landau (doctor, a psychiatrist, wife of Doctor Rogério Landau)
17-Genalvo Lambert WASH (patient, perfectionist)
69-THE WANDERER (lives in the Institute, he is a bit crazy too, but not a patient)

Attackers:

9-Carlos Alberto GABALÁN (patient, plays abroad)
10-Doctor Rogério LANDAU (doctor, the president of the Landau Institute, captain of the team, but not as good as Gabalán, Selic or Sabin)
18-Doctor Ivo PITANGUY (doctor, arguably the best plastic surgeon of the world)
19-PEDREIRA (security guard of the Institute)

Coaching:
Manager: Jan Jorgenson
Asst. Manager: Ensio Varg

Starters' Profiles:
Kustaa Paavalainen (GK): Kustaa has been consistently competent in his appearances thus far. He is a no mistakes type of goalkeeper, who beats shooters with his smarts and positioning, rather than with incredible athletics. He is capable of highlight reel saves, but his style of play usually leads to very routine looking stops.

Juha Timmonen (RB): Timmonen moves into the starting role after playing from the bench last cup. He is an athletic player, and uses his speed well to maintain inside position on strikers.

Rassmus Pahlsson (CB): As the most experienced member of the defense for this cup, Pahlsson moves to the center position to be better able to coordinate his teammates. He should perform well, especially with the guidance of Paavalainen from in goal.

Taavetti Oivanen (LB): Oivanen gets the nod to play alongside his Algolia teammate Pahlsson. The two have worked very well together in league play and we expect nothing different from them on the international stage.

Viggo Haakana (RDM): Haakana earns himself a starting spot by transitioning to the defensive midfield position. It will be somewhat different from the spot he normally plays with Cafundeuan side Atletico Insular, but we expect Viggo to handle it well.

Tomas Vendelin (LDM): Vendelin developed quickly last cup and will be heavily depended on this time around. He will have to be a strong force in the middle of the field to protect the relative inexperience of the Pschychoes' defense.

Vlastislav Prpic (RAM): It's a tough choice for this spot between talented Vogsphere up-and-comers Markkunen and Prpic, Kakrafoon youngster Kolkka, but Prpic gets the nod for now.

Caj Ilmari (CAM): Ilmari is the most skilled and dangerous player on this cup's roster. His dribbling skills are unmatched in Squornshelous, his finish is deadly and age has not yet started whittling away at his speed. He is the complete package.

Jzeovak Tkermec (LAM): It's another battle for the other wing attacking midfield position, this one between ethnic Molvanians Tkermec and Demkjo, of Santraginus and Interblag respectively. Tkermec will get the start for now. Expect to see all six attacking midfielders playing all three positions through qualifying.

Martti Uolevi (RF): Uolevi has been unlucky in that he is a world class player who has been denied a regular starting spot on the national team until his third world cup. We expect good things out of him.

Erkki Aatunen (LF): Aatunen is still the fastest player on the roster, and uses that speed to create all kinds of opportunities. Johannes Axelsson will probably also see plenty of action at either forward position

Squornshelous will play in a 3-2-3-2 formation

Aatunen Uolevi

Tkermec Ilmari Prpic

Vendelin Haakana

Oivanen Pahlsson Timmonen

Paavalainen

Usual Substitutes:
Sevastyan Maric (GK)
Fyodor Petrovich or Pavel Kolodny (D)
Bratislav Demkjo or Joonas Kolkka (M)
Reino Markkunen or Vassili Marivych(M)
Johannes Axelsson or Tomas Kurka(F)
Peter Volodov or Markku Sykko (F)

As far as picking scorers goes, Ilmari is the only attacker who is always on the field, any of my midfield or forward subs could start as well, and all are capable of scoring. Depending on score, Squornshelous will often sub in a fourth defender or sixth attacker in place of a defensive midfielder late in matches.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/squorn/ILMARI.jpg
For away kit, substitute black for red and white for black, both kits have black shorts
Keepers wear a plain white kit at home and a plain red kit away.
General Information:
All Squornshelan Home matches will be played at Vogsphere Arena in our capital, Vogsphere unless otherwise stated. The Arena is an aging, but frequently renovated stadium that seats 75,000.

In culture and ethnicity, Squornshelous is a mixture of Slavic and Nordic peoples. Fish and game meats are very prevalent in local cuisine and alchohol of some kind is served with most meals. Many people are very heavy drinkers, and although the stuff served in "tourist bars" is weaker, foreigners not used to the lifestyle may find themselves drunk under the table by locals fairly rapidly, especially if they find their way to the bars that the indigs frequent.

Squornshelous is a fairly mountainous country and winters are harsh, due to our high latitude. Summer brings pleasant weather, perfect for football matches. Squornshelan players tend to work especially hard at conditioning in order to keep from being at a disadvantage when playing in hot, or humid climates. Visiting teams would do well to do some conditioning of their own. Most Squornshelan cities are located on the sea coast, and the breezes off the water can be quite chilly, even in summer months.

Ariddia

The Rouge-et-Noirs

Although the team now represents the Federation of the Ariddian Isles rather than only the PDSRA, it has maintained its traditional colours and nickname. It will, however, be using the federal flag (http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/the_ariddian_isles.png) rather than the PDSRA State flag (http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/ariddia.png).

The team contains two players from North-West Ariddia: Abdel Mohamed and Miranda Lake.

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2118/kitlu9.png

The Rouge-et-Noirs will, of course, perform the ulek at the start of each match.

The squad

GK: Jarl "the Flying Mountain" Knudsen (3)
DEF: Mary E’it (22); Jeremy Isaacs (cpt, 8); Naoki Tonnelier (13)
MID: Hwang Kumchol (5); Marek Petras (21); Si Ewe (7); Es Chichirua (9)
ATT: Jamilah Shahrour (20); Yuto Takahara (11); Abdel Mohamed (2)

Substitutes:
GK: Laurent Malin (1); Anastasya Loskov (23)
DEF : Yves Levent (12); Eric Marsh (4); Sul Ioe (14)
MID: Jean-Charles Thomas (16); Miranda Lake (10); Ötei Kim (18); Cindy Church (6)
ATT: Wendy Wu (19); Aw Lush (17); Aa Senecky (15)

E'it, Tonnelier, Chichirua, Shahrour, Loskov, Lake, Church, Wu and Senecky are women.

Knudsen is the tallest player on the team (1m98, 6'6''). He has an imposing build, but is surprisingly quick off the mark, hence his nickname.
Tonnelier and Takahara are sister and brother.

A home match will be played in any one of the following stadia:
* Stade National Rêvane-Sud (main stadium; Rêvane, PDSRA)
* Wavecrest City Stadium (Wavecrest, PDSRA)
* Haven-Port-Nouveau Stadium (Port-Nouveau, near Haven, PDSRA)
* Darras Olympic Stadium (Darras, suburb of Rêvane)

San Adriano
18-11-2007, 20:02
The Sanadrianese national football team

The Sanadrianese, contrary to appearances, are not new to the world of international football. No indeed. They took part in World Cup 27, and astonished themselves by defeating Spaamanian Plijous. Twice. 1-0 each time. Those days of dizzying glory may be long gone, but -unlike San Adriano's existence in the memories of the international community- they have not been forgotten.

San Adriano is a sovereign village (see photo (http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/8046/testsa51yg5.jpg)) with a population of fewer than 500. All home matches will be played outside San Adriano, across the border in the misleadingly named Sanadrianese National Stadium, which is located in Uhuh-Topia.

The Sanadrianese national anthem is Ciò è la nostra casa (http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache:rHMMURBmi-8J:ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Ci%C3%B2_%C3%A8_la_nostra_casa+San+Adriano+anthem+NSwiki&hl=fr&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=fr). (The tune is identical to the anthem of the RL Cook Islands, which you can listen to here (http://www.national-anthems.net/real/CW).)

With six defenders and one attacker, it's pretty clear what the tactics of this tiny village-nation are going to be. Any draw will be celebrated as a victory.

Squad

New Manhattan
19-11-2007, 06:25
What do I call…

…the highest-seeded team in group 6?
Capitalizt SLANI (known prior to World Cup 30 as Commerce Heights)

…the third-seeded team in group 2?
Jasīʼyūn or JSY (alternatively transliterated Jaseuyeon or Chasŭyŏn by Korean-speaking nations)

…the nation in which these two teams play their home matches?
the Unified Capitalizt States (sometimes Commerce Heights in informal speech)

…people from that nation?
Capitalizts

…the person who created this mess?
Commerce Heights (I use the New Manhattan forum account due to technical problems)

—————

http://www.thirdgeek.com/ns/worldcup/graphics/flags/36/UCS/ Unified Capitalizt States
The Unified Capitalizt States, sometimes referred to as Commerce Heights (though not in formal writing), is a very large, very rich nation consisting of an area in Atlantian Oceania and of the entire planet Sirius D, the former Aquillan homeworld. It has no laws, other than a general prohibition on harming another person or their property except as permitted by contract. Many future-tech things are used in the UCS, including teleporters, spaceships, and extremely tall buildings, though most such technologies are too expensive for the general population.

There are two organizations based in the UCS that compete in the World Cup:

The first, and better known, is called Capitalizt SLANI, often shortened to SLANI. SLANI has competed since World Cup 25, and a previous organization, the CHFF (which is considered to be the same team, much like Serbia is considered the same team as Serbia and Montenegro IRL), competed between World Cups 7 and 25. SLANI also claims to inherit the record of Bedistan, which competed from World Cup 5 to 32. This claim is not generally recognized outside of the UCS, but it is the reason why their uniforms feature five stars above the logo (for Commerce Heights’s victory in WC15 and Bedistan’s in WCs 21, 26, 27, and 30). Prior to World Cup 30, when 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) first entered, Capitalizt SLANI’s team was known as Commerce Heights (which was, at the time, the official short name of the Unified Capitalizt States).

The other team is named 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn), often abbreviated JSY (but not Commerce Heights JSY, which is merely a contrivance to create a valid NS nation name), which has competed since World Cup 30 and qualified only twice.

—————

Stadia
Capitalizt SLANI and 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) will tour the many large stadia in the Unified Capitalizt States for their home qualifying games. Though each officially has a “home stadium,” this simply means that the other team may not play its home games there.

Barring exceptional circumstances, all home games played by either UCS team will sell out, and as many fans as are permitted will travel for away games.

Quality ratings for each of the venues are given. Keep in mind that a two-star stadium by Capitalizt standards would likely be a UEFA five-star stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Stadia_List) IRL.

Sokojito Überdome
Location: 소코지토 도시, 소코지토 (Sokojito Dosi, Sokojito)
Capacity: 400 552
Quality: ****
Built for the infamous “CHO:P” World Cup 26 bid, the Sokojito Überdome is the largest known stadium in Atlantian Oceania. To allow for its massive capacity, teleportation devices are used to get spectators into their seats, which are inaccessible by other means. Aside from the final of World Cup 26, the Überdome has hosted several matches between Capitalizt SLANI and Krytenia, which have earned the stadium a reputation for very high-scoring games.

Esther Marchese Memorial Stadium
Location: Sonoma City, Bedistan
Capacity: 271 828
Quality: *****
Esther Marchese Memorial Stadium is the most ambitious of the CHEAT Alliance’s (parent company of Capitalizt SLANI) stadium construction projects in the former East Bedistan. It is currently the second-largest stadium in the Unified Capitalizt States, behind the Überdome. Though it does not meet the same high standards as Capitalizm or Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium, it is still a top-tier venue by most standards.

Metropolitan Stadium
Location: Commerce Heights, New Manhattan
Capacity: 180 278
Quality: ****
Metropolitan Stadium, one of the new venues constructed for World Cup 36, was built on the site of Maxisoft Stadium, the original home stadium of the CHFF, and serves as a replacement for the recently-demolished CDA Stadium in New Seoul.

Capitalizm
Location: 유포, 소코지토 (ʼYupo, Sokojito—note the apostrophe)
Capacity: 161 803
Quality: *****
Capitalizm, named after the economic system that has brought great wealth to the people of the Unified Capitalizt States, was constructed at great expense for the CHFF’s World Cup 16 bid with Melmond, and was also once the national stadium. Though it is traditional in design and does not require teleporters like the Überdome, it does utilize a number of other sophisticated technologies to enhance the fans’ experience.

Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium
Location: Querzakhi, Tarraconesis
Capacity: 157 080
Quality: *****
Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium was built by the Spaamanian corporation Drakcorp for the Capitalizt club, Querzakhi United, that it purchased. It hosted the ceremonies and many of the events for the Games of the II Olympiad. Though the stadium has been around for about forty years, it was extensively renovated for the Olympics, and is much like a new stadium. It has some of the same advanced features as Capitalizm, and additionally has the ability to replace the pitch instantaneously by teleporting replacement pitches that are stored underground.

C4Stadion
Location: Metrewalk, Lontorika
Capacity: 131 160
Quality: *****
C4Stadion, designed by the same architect that created Auswärtssieg Arena, is the newest of his state-of-the-art Lontorikan stadiums. The stadium is located inside a skyscraper (similar to a plan to rebuild Aeropag Olympic Stadium that never received funding), which includes parking and hotel accomodations. It is named after its sponsor, the Capitalizt Consolidated Conglomeration Corporation (C4), which is also responsible for the manufacture of both UCS teams’ kits.

JPL Paladin Stadium (자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) home stadium)
Location: Port Lusambo, Jativa
Capacity: 128 400
Quality: ***
JPL (Jativa Power and Light) Paladin Stadium is a relatively new venue, built for the once-dominant Port Lusambo Paladins of the 자스연 리그 (Jasīʼyūn Ligī). Though many supporters have since switched their loyalty to the SLANI League’s KQ Qidádire Putemo, the Paladins still draw a decent crowd, and more should come to see 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) in action. An article in the Aeropag Tribune about the RP bonus machine installed there has earned it the nickname “the Randome.”

Auswärtssieg Arena
Location: Natestadt, Lontorika
Capacity: 127 202
Quality: *****
Given the limited success and fan base of the local team, the Natestadt Nationalisten, the club successfully lobbied the owners for it to be given the name Auswärtssieg Arena, meaning “arena of away wins.” Although Capitalizt SLANI has not encountered many away wins there, the name has stuck. It is of fairly advanced construction, but does not quite match Capitalizm in the technology used. Still, it is regarded by many as the best sports venue in the UCS.

Aeropag Olympic Stadium
Location: Aeropag, Jativa
Capacity: 107 596
Quality: ****
Aeropag Olympic Stadium was originally named the Orange–Green Bowl—a reference to the original football team that played there, the Aeropag Hurricanes. As its current name suggests, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the I Olympic Winter Games in Aeropag. It is a fairly average stadium, not using particularly extravagant technologies nor having a significant local fan base that attends games played there, but is well-maintained.

Stádie Síntaüilire’da
Location: Otário, Tingitana
Capacity: 100 000
Quality: ***
Will host: one first-round match
Due to a startling lapse of creativity, and a surprising lack of sponsors, CHEAT simply decided to name this stadium after its capacity. It seems to have been designed as an average stadium in every respect, with no significant architectural or other features to distinguish it from other oval-shaped venues.

Anaphase Alchemy Stadium (Capitalizt SLANI home stadium)
Location: Sonoma Center, New Manhattan
Capacity: 81 067
Quality: ****
Home of the Sonoma Center Panthers, one of the greatest clubs in Capitalizt football, Anaphase Alchemy Stadium attracts a broad local supporter base, making it very difficult or very expensive to find tickets. The stadium is well-known for an active streak of over five hundred consecutive sold-out Panthers games, which has made the management somewhat hesitant to significantly expand.

Koepel van IJsselmeer
Location: IJsselmeer, Tarraconesis
Capacity: 76 510
Quality: ***
Koepel van IJsselmeer was a joint project by Capitalizt SLANI and the remnants of the Bedistani Football Association’s AFC IJsselmeer, which previously played its home matches in front of a 1500-seat temporary stand. Due to its proximity to the former border between the UCS and Bedistan, the local residents have a strong dislike of Capitalizts, and Bedistani separatists often hold rallies here when major events are held.

Unity Stadium
Location: International City, Capital Territory
Capacity: 75 000
Quality: ***
Unity Stadium was built as a neutral venue in the International City of Paripana, a city that was constructed between the UCS, Bedistan, and Lontorika that is jointly administered by the three nations. After the fall of Bedistan and Lontorika and their integration into the UCS, the city became the nation’s capital. Its first use was to host some group matches during World Cup 8 in Bedistan, including those of the Commerce Heights team. It has since been renovated for use by the Capitalizt national teams, as well as by the Capitalizt club KQ Internepáïire and the now-defunct Bedistani club Internepáïire Bédistem.

Capitalizt SLANI will field a team of androids, made to look and play like Capitalizt SLANI’s World Cup 32 qualifying squad. The Entomologist - Special World Cup Edition
The Pazhujeb Islands' Leading Insect Study Journal

Translated from Pazhujebi to English by Shaghni Oj'vash

No Changes To Champion Squad

After winning the 25th Baptism of Fire, the 23-man squad that represents the Pazhujeb Islands in international football competition will see no changes for now-honorary Pazhujebi citizen Jaime Oberlander, manager of the team. Famous cockroach Edward was given inside access to certain PIFA documents which were not released to the press, and since he hates reputable tabloid Eenadu, he has turned the documents over to us at the Entomologist.

Here are some simple tidbits from those files.

Manager:
Jaime Oberlander
Tough as nails yet quiet as a mouse, the aging Starblaydi icon was criticized roundly for some of the poor results the Starblaydi national team turned in while he was at its head, but those criticisms have been put to shame by his leadership of the Purple Sea Urchins. A Baptism of Fire title and a sharp performance in the Di Bradini Cup (held in his home nation) have fans convinced that Oberlander is the best man for the job.

Goalkeepers:
Vekaj Amutarrad - 22 Years Old
Aggressive and known for his flamboyant turban styles, this goalkeeper is rarely anything but all smiles. He is well known for being the best friend of captain Redhe Lissama, with whom he plays at club side Lammachi.
Mr. Amutarrad will be wearing kit number one.

Pazhuj Yivashaktim - 22 Years Old
Mr. Yivashaktim will be wearing kit number twenty.

Defenders:
Semhar Idarha - 23 Years Old
Club side Urajbina's no-nonsense center back seems to have found a very large niche on the national side, having seemingly cockroach-like communicative skills with captain and fellow centre half Lissama.
Mr. Idarha will be wearing kit number eight.

Awabad Jhavaraja - 22 Years Old
Mr. Jhavaraja will be wearing kit number twenty-two.

Jirassam Lethija - 21 Years Old
Mr. Lethija will be wearing kit number twelve.

Redhe Lissama - 22 Years Old
Stepping into the leadership role that Jaime Oberlander offered him, this small but brauny (relative) veteran is the captain of both the Urchins and of home club Lammachi. Lissama is quiet off the pitch but charismatic on it.
Mr. Lissama will be wearing kit number two.

Rhayasat Mhenipda - 17 Years Old
Mr. Mhenipda will be wearing kit number seventeen.

Mahmudanam Rha - 21 Years Old
Sharp, attentive, athletic, and quick, Rha is a firebrand who at home club Rujananja Bears is known for his yellow cards. However, Bears as a club are never card-shy, and Rha's aggressiveness usually results only in won balls.
Mr. Rha will be wearing kit number nine.

Huvem Tushambanda - 17 Years Old
Young and inexperienced but pacy and dangerous, this Zhevassi-based sparkplug is not only useful as an overlapping right wing back, but is a big character with truly special tackling ability; a diamond in the rough.
Mr. Tushambanda will be wearing kit number five.

Khaled Vhumadara - 22 Years Old
Mr. Vhumadara will be wearing kit number fifteen.

Muwadasiwar Yet Pighanija - 17 Years Old
Mr. Yet Pighanija will be wearing kit number nineteen.

Defending Midfielders:
Shipuchan Parokshara - 20 Years Old
Zhevassi are one of the most popular clubs in the entire nation, because even though they play in a tiny inland city, fans in massive cities Evir and Fajr have no one else to support. Consequently, every time Zhevassi's Parokshara scores on one of his trademark long-range blasts, fans go nuts.
Mr. Parokshara will be wearing kit number ten.

Midfielders:
Qamad Lirram - 21 Years Old
Mr. Lirram will be wearing kit number sixteen.

Ioya Oovi - 17 Years Old
Mr. Oovi will be wearing kit number thirteen.

Qabe Oujadda - 17 Years Old
The only player on the squad of foreign descent (Oujadda's parents are Nigerian immigrants), this talent plays at fullback for club side Urajbina Rovers, but Oberlander has found great success using Oujadda at midfielder.
Mr. Oujadda will be wearing kit number seven.

Vuharana Quridheru - 20 Years Old
Lanky and tall but smart and physical, Quridheru is not known for his pace but is for his fabulous passing. Any time the Urchins or club side Kuratmad need to unclog a crowded midfield, this man's creativity comes in handy.
Mr. Quridheru will be wearing kit number four.

Livam Uvar - 18 Years Old
Mr. Uvar will be wearing kit number eighteen.

Attacking Midfielders:
Xussanikara Ghur - 22 Years Old
The savior of the national team's championship run in the BoF, Ghur is currently the national team's leading scorer. His fiery temper manifested itself not as angry outbursts, as it has been known to at club side Juvapanam, but as relentless 90-minute assaults of opposing defenses.
Mr. Ghur will be wearing kit number eleven.

Fidesta Qiva - 18 Years Old
Mr. Qiva will be wearing kit number twenty-three.

Attackers:
Uimar Chussadir - 19 Years Old
Mr. Chussadir will be wearing kit number twenty-one.

Herodotusam Guvidhipa - 21 Years Old
Mr. Guvidhipa will be wearing kit number fourteen.

Pav Panithaj - 18 Years Old
Juvapanam knew what they were doing when they plucked this brutally athletic but smoothly bouyant kid from a third division feeder club. Now his upper and lower body strength grace the front of the national team's attack.
Mr. Panithaj will be wearing kit number six.

Chaya Vuhumkara - 17 Years Old
Last but not least, this striker is cocky and inconsistent, but unbelievably cold-blooded and skilled in front of goal. The sensation of Pazhujebi football, Vuhumkara is a teenage celebrity who girls between the ages of four and fifty flock into the streets to catch a glimpse of, and when he reaches his prime, he will likely be playing at a much bigger club abroad. However, for the time being, he is the Ivheshbum's leading scorer at club side Kuratmad. Though he excels there, he has yet to truly dominate on the national team level, though literally everyone is expecting to.
Mr. Vuhumkara will be wearing kit number three.

Stadia To Be Used In Qualifying:
Bengaluru Velodrome - 46,000 Seats
A large structure that has existed in the large Xhede Island city of Bengaluru for over nine centuries, the Velodrome was used for years in chariot racing. However, as interest dropped over the years it fell into disuse, save for public political events. However, now that football has swept the nation its rolling sandy pitch again snatches the attention of thousands every week, with tenants Bengaluru ZL having just earned promotion into the Ivheshbu A. Fans from all over the flowery and notoriously purple island will surely pack into this stadium on matchday.
Bengaluru Velodrome will host the match against Demot on Matchday 2.

Chargers' Boulder - 28,000 Seats
Because it was made rather recently from massive chunks of granite, this Rujananja stadium on Fajr Island looks from a distance like a tremendous grayish blue boulder. It is, however, the home of Ivheshbu A club Rujananja Chargers, whose mascot and nickname were inspired by American football team San Diego Chargers (though most Pazhujebis are unaware of this and might be appalled if they were). Its sandy pitch is made from crushed pieces of the granite the park was made from, so it takes a bluish hue. Rabid Chargers supporters will likely swamp this stadium on home matchdays.
Chargers' Boulder will host the match against Bumiroar on Matchday 4.

Therakham Coliseum - 41,000 Seats
A magnificent and recently built stadium, this beautiful and ingeniously constructed park in a northern suburb of Yughrigha, on the tiny island of Akhekhur, is the home to popular club side Therakham ZL. Made mostly from wood but meticulously decorated from pitch to stand to roof to entrance with soapstone sculptures, many of which are massive and built into the architecture, Therakham are proud to call the stadium home. Its pitch is remarkably soft by Pazhujebi standards; though foreign players will surely still complain of its hardness.
Therakham Coliseum will host the matches against Oliverry on Matchday 6, St. Samuel on Matchday 7, Sorthern Northland on Matchday 8, and Northern Bettia on Matchday 10.

Zhevassi Athletic Field - 23,000 Seats
Though it pales in comparison to the size of other stadia, even in the Pazhujeb Islands, this stadium is without doubt the most beloved in the entire country. Unquestionably, the most well-supported club side in the country is Zhevassi ZL, and they play at this tiny but cozy little stadium. Its limestone walls have existed for hundreds of years, though according to historians in the small town of Zhevassi, it has been repeatedly renovated. A coliseum that was once used for fake stagings of 12th century battles now will see international football grace its pitch.
Zhevassi Athletic Field will host the match against Bergelland on Matchday 12.

Kits:
PIFA are proud to announce that in lieu of the national team's Baptism of Fire championship, they have received permission from the Imperial Senate of the Pazhujeb Islands to sign a deal with Krytenian sportswear company JMC for the creation of national team kits. These kits were used for the first time on Matchday 4 against Bumiroar in Rujananja.

http://www.freewebs.com/abduldukhirahiq/JMC%20kits%202.PNG

As is the practice, the Purple Sea Urchins will all be wearing their traditional purple turbans during all matches.

General Match Strategy Tidbits:
Oberlander has been adamant that he will not make any major changes to the squad that downed Starblaydia in Baptism of Fire 25. Expected (in fact, almost guaranteed) to start are Amutarrad, Lissama, Vuhumkara, Quridheru, Tushambanda, Panithaj, Oujadda, Idarha, Rha, Parokshara, and Ghur. Note that these are the players who above have biographies. Note further that these are the players numbered one through eleven. It certainly appears that Jaime Oberlander knows who he wants on the pitch.

The team, as they did during the BoF, will play in a diamond 4-4-2 formation:

Amutarrad
Tushambanda Lissama Idarha Rha
Parokshara
Oujadda Quridheru
Ghur
Panithaj Vuhumkara

For The Foreign Entomologist Reader

We here at the Entomologist do not believe in closeted societies, so it is with great pleasure that we welcome readers of other nationalities. We have a very kind and quick translation staff who can have this magazine converted into your native language within a very short period of time (though this service does of course require a minor fee on your part)! As the official provider of news for the Pazhujeb Islands national football team for World Cup 38 qualifying, we can assure readers that we will have all the news you need!

We also invite new readers to peruse our other columns about our more traditional subject. If you think solving wood borer problems, studying insect companionship phenomena, or even simply something as broad as landscape ecology is cool, then we have articles to give you a BUZZ!

However, in all seriousness, we at the Entomologist strongly believe that it is important for such readers to be educated on some basic aspects of Pazhujebi culture. With the ancestors of today's Pazhujebis (the vast majority of whom were of Indian descent) having been evicted from the Roman Empire circa 269 AD, many Pazhujebi people are extremely defensive about outsiders even setting foot in their country. A series of wars during the 12th century with invaders from the African coast did not help either.

So, to make a long story short, outsiders should beware. Further, there are significant infrastructure differences which foreigners will certainly need to be aware of. For starters, any visitor to the Islands, be he supporter, player, staff, manager, foreign dignitary, whatever, will have to arrive in the country via boat. There are no airports in the Pazhujeb Islands, nor will any ever likely be built. In most ways, the infrastructure on the islands (unsurprisingly) resembles that of 3rd century Rome. There is no electricity, there is no internet access, there is no running water (though the aqaduct system is quite well developed), and there is absolutely no television. If supporters cannot get into a match, they will have to watch the match via live cockroach simulation in an allotted pit, as the locals do. Even if you are in attendance at one of the live matches, you (and more importantly, your team) will discover that football on the Pazhujebs is not played on grass, but on compacted sand or dirt, or a compacted mixture of both. If you do not train well in advance for the pitches in the Pazhujeb Islands, your players will be considerably more prone to injury.

Though there are one or two exceptions to the Pazhujeb Islands' so-called infrastructure deficit, namely culturally unique advances in architecture and printing, in the main outsiders may find the Pazhujebs a difficult place. You have been warned. However, especially if it is clear to Pazhujebi residents that you are a football supporter, you will be likely welcomed quite kindly. Pazhujebis are extremely excited that their team is participating in football on a global level, and they will at least try to see eye to eye with you as long as the topic is football.

From all our staff at the Entomologist, good luck to all participants!

Casaran Coach Damian Hill has decided to have one last run with the team saying, "If we plop round the hill marker then I think I've gone one too far." Well he will those words to hold true because he said he will retire after this cup. The MFA is also currently looking for coaching applicants. Send in your applications now! The next cup we will have a new roster and coach.

Gk: GK: Halutz Dalton- Big kid. Known for stopping shot based on his frame alone. His actual goalkeeping abilities have been questioned but he did win the starting job. So that should put them to rest, for a while anyway. Somehow chosen over the Fletchers.
D: Steve Emter- A late comer to the scene, Emter played great for the Mongolian Horsies in getting them to regional competition and is now ready to be a member of the national team.
D: Daig Mitchell- Hard tackling central defender who was known among his peers for his excess of cards. However this has been curbed considerably he still has a bit of temper. We hope he can keep it under control. Got the sub job to help himself with the temper.
D: Kent Rolt- The most famous member of the squad for his two behind the halfway line goals in one game. Can score from anywhere on the field and can also tackle well, the complete package.
M: Nicholai Marchakov- Athletic fast and good ball control. Looks like a younger Darian Flinters and much more like the first generation of Milchamian wings unlike Lonnen and Manin. Suprisingly got included in the squad.
M: Kenny Rintell- Johnny's son. An absolutely wonderful central midfielder who is probably better than his father. Will play on the Milchamian team for a long time. Is actually only 14 right now.
M: Kev Kelton- Great ballhandling skill and good pace plus nice crossing ability. Unfortunately very volatile and makes poor decisions but his natural is incredible, we assure you.
F: Kevin Flossmore- Very speedy and has now become a decent crosser. Will be looked to control Kelton to make sure he doesn't go crazy and kill somebody.
F: Tal Flar- Tall and good in the air. Flar's goal scoring ability will be key to the team advancing. His tall frame has helped club team FC Doom get on the verge of IAFL qualification.
F: Avi Belmowitz- (Godmod) Lans seems to have some special plan for him as he is the least proven player on the squad. However, his talent seems amazing but he will be closely watched to see how he does.
F:Mike E. Forent- This generations middle initialed player. Became a winger after the center strikers places were closed, expect him to come roaming inside a lot.

Substitutes:
Gk: Fletcher James- The first of the Fletcher's to get a first team shot internatinoally wants to prove how good he and they can be.
F: Thomas Manningham- Good man. Good player. Scores goals. Is a sub. Very uninteresting. Thus the 3 word sentences.
Horse:Maimonides- The first Jewish horse. Just for that he gets on the team, we're not actually sure if he's any good.
F: Catch Esrimdo- While his name might be a paradox. His play isn't, his crosses are definitely below quality but his speed is near unmatched. Part of Lans' work to improve the speed on the team.
D: Kendry Wilkirk- A little larger than the average defensive wing but he has matured quite quickly and looks great at it. Can also play centerback and his movement has been considered key to the success of this team.

Bazalonian Bazalopes

Coach: Caine Hawdon and Peter Hobble

Kit:

Style: +3

Stadiums: TeleBaz Arena, SeaBazalope Arena, CBBC Dome, Drago Soccer Field

#10, Ricky Yunn F ©

The Stalwart of the team, despite being captain and a forward is very aware of what is happening all over the field and has a strong knolwedge of his other teammates and what they can do. Ricky and Thomas are brothers, though there is a strong rivalry between the two, The reason both of them have made it onto the squad. Though off field they are the closest of brothers.

#53, Frederick Hampstead F

A talented forward, having breathed soccer since he was young, has not scored too many goals himslef but is always in the right place in the right time to make sure that any forward attacking move by the team has the best chance of success. Though he is still looking for and is hungry for his first international goal.

#24, Everrett Kang F

The last of the starting forwards, His incredible accuracy is his main weapon it is the subject of much heated debate which forward is best, generally each excels in a critical area and a combined and sustained attack by all of them would test even the strongest of defense. However, they are quite well balanced by the defense and midfield.

#9, Thomas Yunn, M

Not to be over shadowed by his slightly older brother Thomas has excellent control of the ball and can place it very accurately over long distances, this has even resulted in a few goals for Thomas, who is the left winger.

#32, Quentin Assington M

The centre and master tactition, him and the captain Ricky Yunn control the game, or attempt to anyway. His timing is perfect and has been known to get rid of the ball just before a legal tackle and draw a foul. However Quentin is also a bit of diver though never does it once he gets a yellow.

#27, David Myfanwy M

The only welsh speaking player in Bazalonia David has made a name for himself for his passion for the game. However he can get a bit uptight and can confront referees for even the hint of a bad decision. However as the right winger he just seems to be in the right place at the right time.

#28, Arianna Georsophalous D

One of the 2 women defenders in the team Arianna get's annoyed at the concept of a purely female world cup. If there was a male only world cup then they be different but the world cup is for the best soccer players in the nation. And she has earned her right to be here and will not let anyone else get in the way of her playing her defensive game.

#37, Henry Fjord D

You can never really be sure what this guy will do in any particular occasion usually causing confusion, even then you can't be sure whether he'll take the ball himself, pass it on to another player or just get in the other players way.

#20, Zieta Swift D

The second of the woman in the team, more sedate than her fellow female defender, Zieta does her job and does it well.

#31, Xia Chia D

Oriental appearance, he seemingly works well together with the females in the team managing to set up complex 3-part defensive maneuvers. Xia was once in the Bazalonian military and always had a flare for defense. both on the field but also on the soccer pitch which he was in the Bazalonian Army Soccer team that beat navy in the Armed forces games.

#1, Joshua Kanga K

Younger Brother of Paul Kanga, a previous substitute goal keeper for the Bazalopes Joshua had proven himself during the AOCAF tournaments as a great goalkeeper.

Substitutes:

#4, Lou Richards F
#16, Stephan Smith F
#42, Zaphod Prefect M
#48, Harold Bishop M
#45, Ali LeRock D
#19, Poest Markus D
#7, Daniel McKade D
#2, Ferdinand Esther K
#3, Trent Thistlethorpe K

You can do anything apart from doing anything that you want to at whim except for anything that would impact more than one matchday. Though please contact me, You'll most likely get a green light if I know about it before hand.

Tynelia
24-11-2007, 14:17
3-2-3-2 style (+3 modifier)

Coach- Lee Andrews- age 44- A surprising choice as the new head coach for the team having only a few years experience coaching the Damak Icemen though he did win the league championship last season. Seen as an aggressive minded coach, Andrews is the first Coach of the Tynelian squad to go for an all out offensive style, alienating many purists of the game who enjoyed low scoring defensive battles. However Andrews has countered saying all the big winners have been attacking teams so it’s time Tynelia catches up with everyone.

-------------Dalton--------W.MacDougal
Grant-------------Burke------------Harris
------------Davies----------Lloyd
M. MacDougal--------White--------Maximov
---------------------Ellis---------------

Keepers-
G-Rachel Ellis age 26-starter- Rumored to have been one of the keepers in Tynelia’s last cup, though government requirements forbid the releasing of such news, Ellis is now in her third Cup and first-officially-as the starter. Touted as the next Amy Whiteworth, she’ll be looking to follow in those big footsteps.

G- Matt Mitchell age 22- reserve- a young up and coming keeper, and the starter for the Icemen, Mitchell is thought to be here only because his coach is coaching the national squad. He is not expected to see much playing time.

Strikers-
F- Marcus Dalton- age 28- starter- The Sniper is back for this third cup and is expected to be the leading scorer under the wide open style of Coach Andrews. He is also named the most likely member of the WC37 squad due to his flamboyant style of play and actions which exactly mirror what he does now. It is thought his one year suspension from play the following season was in part a government action for his easily recognizable play in the cup.

F- William MacDougal- age 27- starter- The MacDougal clan continues to churn out strikers and William is the latest of the crew to make the national squad. Second to Dalton in scoring last season, MacDougal has vowed to correct that slight to the MacDougal clan by becoming top scorer this time around.

F- Mandy Lynn- age 20- reserve- Lynn is looking to fill the shoes of Tina Conroy- the highest scoring female player in Tynelian international history. This being her first cup, Lynn is expected to learn from the best in the game in Dalton and MacDougal to carve out her own starting spot in WC39.

Forwards-
F- Lyle Burke- age 31-starter- Burke is officially listed as being in his second cup. An excellent ballhandler and passer, he will be the one responsible for keeping Dalton and MacDougal busy this cup.

F- Aaron Grant- age 24- starter- Grant was the league leader in goal differential this season, beating Burke for the first time in four seasons and works well with his teammate Dalton having played together the past three seasons. Making sure this edge is played to the fullest, Coach Andrews has made sure Grant and Dalton are on the same wing.

F- Miranda Harris- age 26-starter- Another rumored member of the WC37 team, she led the league in assists two of the last three seasons and will more than hold up her end of things on the field.

F- John Wilster- age 22- reserve- A future star, Wilster has to desice whether he wants to be a scorer or a setup man on the pitch. At times he has looked hesitant trying to decide whether to attack or not but was brought here in the hopes of being able to fill in on both sides of the attack as needed.

Midfielders-
M- Angela Davies- age 26- starter- still as soft spoken and polite as when she was a rookie but just as strong on the field of play. Preferring to let her on field action do the talking she was listed as #3 in the recent “most difficult sports stars to interview” poll due to her camera-shy ways.

M-Bernard Lloyd- age 27-starter- A British blueblood if you listen to what his parents say about themselves, Lloyd is regardless a very good all around player and the type of rock solid bloke you want to see in the midfield directing traffic.

M- Kara Brown- age 18- reserve- the youngest player on the team, Brown was runnerup in the rookie of the year voting this season and made the team after the winner- forward David Michaels- injured himself in a waterskiing accident. Brown is versatile and can play defense fairly well if need be.

Defenders-
D- Meggie MacDougal- age 32- starter- The lone defensive MacDougal is in her final cup here, but is still one of the top defenders in the league. Tynelia’s “kid sister” actually has a child of her own now which was given a soccer ball on her first birthday as the MacDougal chain of soccer players appeared to get their newest member.

D- John White- age 24- starter- The two time defender of the year makes his world cup debut, though some claim he was on the bench during WC37. An excellent lane blocker and angle breaker, White looks to have a bright future for many World Cups to come.

D- Alexander Maximov- age-22- starter – The former rookie of the year from two years ago and first Orthodox member of the Tynelian team, Maximov has something to prove here, especially to his church’s nemesis The New Othydoxic Christian Church of Reborn Othydoxy, which has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade.

D- Tony Timmons- age 29-reserve- An experienced defender with nine years in the league, Timmons is here in a supporting role in case the two youngsters show their inexperience early on.

Special Notes about Ulzaixds:

They aren't human or from earth. In other words they are aliens. And strange ones at that. A full Ulzaxid is made up of five different organisms morphed together. The five component parts are organisms similiar to a monkey, dolphin with gills, an eagle, a ferret and a slime mold. In full on form they are very large, fast, strong and dangerous. With claws and wings for flight. Fortunately they won't be using such full morphs during the competition. But rather smaller versions. All morphs contain at least the slime which can secrete an enzyme which allows them to morph together. They can morph with any organism, so if they are under attack at home matches will do so in self-defense. And considering they could kick the crap out of people anyways, I'd recommend against starting trouble in Ulzaxid. Ulzaxid stadiums are specially constructed to have special seating areas for each of the base organisms as well as morphs. So there are eagles sitting on poles above the field, a special pool area for dolphins and so on. The slime molds are telepathic so the coach and team don't make any noise during matches. At away matches the spectators will also be completely silent. At home matches the base forms of eagle, ferret, monkey and dolphin will make noise.

Clearly such a species won't be defecting to other countries. If you are interested in having a player of fan morph together with an Ulzaxid that might be possible. TG me. Other than that no one will be coming to Ulzaxid as a defectee. All Ulzaxids can brain share so they can all speak English or any other language as necessary. So anyone is availabe for interviews.

Assistant Manager - Rhoetang Dotsmens
Forward Coach - Menburid Umsaasad
Midfield Coach - Netgorin Ocilla
Defender Coach - Pasarap Cegeeng
Goalkeeping Coach - Sytrobes Smait

Pentove has made a slight change to the usual formation for the team. Being from Netlas, he is rather fond of the particularly western "3-5-2 cross" formation, or what others might call a 3-1-3-1-2. The team takes a slightly defensive attitude (-1 on a five-point scale).

Home colors: White and gold
Away colors: Black, red, and white
Third kit: Blue and white
Goalkeeper colors: Green and gold

And now, the players. Starters will be listed in red.

(Note on ages: One RL day is approximately equal to one month in Vephrall. Ages are as of 3 January 1747, or 6 December 2007 IRL.)

My opponent, if they RP first, may do pretty much whatever he or she likes as long as it's all in the spirit of good fun. Just don't kill my players or coaching staff (and in case of a major injury, I recommend you check with me ahead of time).
