A small country, mainly a large city-state of 5 million, was founded recently. Its ideals have brought many who follow the same vision of Michelsen, the founder from America. The new country is based in the Pacific on a newly charted list of islands, named Michelsen Prime. The entire area was named after the finder, including the local currency, the michelsen (M.T.M.).
The country is having a rough start, with massive amounts of crime, and the next best thing to being ruler of this area is being the CEO of one of the many super-industries. Corporations nearly run the country, and poor people are left with no govermental power what-so-ever.
Since its creation, all citizens are forced to change there last name to Michelsen, supposedly creating "unity" among the people.
The Dominion of Michutopia is a tiny, economically powerful nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.
There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Woodchip Exports industries.
Crime is a serious problem. Michutopia's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
