For More intersesting groups I've decided to go with the following format:

2 groups of 4, 1 group of 3. Double round-robin for the group of 3, single round-robin for the 2 groups of 4. Top team in each group advances to semis, while 2nd place teams in Groups A & B will have a playoff for the final spot. There will be Draws in the first round of play.

The semis will be a 4-team round robin as well, but under Must-win (so ET and PK) rules.

OOC: Are KPB ranks part of scorination?

OOC: Yes, but I need the new rankings from after the World Cup is complete (just the ranks of the teams participating..thanks)

Scorination will begin either on Sunday 10/21 or Monday 10/22, depending on when the ranks after the WC come out.

And just in case anyone is wondering how the scores are generated: I'm using a very simple formulas=

.10KPB rank +.60 RP Bonus+ .30 Random # (1-10)=X

Then X*2ndRandom #(1-3)= Y

Then repeat for 2nd team. then whichever teams' Y value is greater wins, or ties if they are the same. The scores will be determined by the ratio of the Y values on a scale. The max KPB rank is 50.00 any team over that amount will be reduced to 50.00. The max ratio is 4.00, and any ratios over that will be reduced to 4.00.

Examples:
TEAM A: KPB Rank= 5 (45.15 pts)
TEAM B: KPB Rank= 40 (13.18 pts)

Ratios: 2.73 in Favor of B (Rounded to nearest 100th)

Please Note this is only a couple of examples of how it will work. The RP Bonus is not on a scale of 0-3 and the 2nd random # is only a value between 0 and 2, and is influenced by KPB rank (so no 7-0 losses by the #1 team to n00bistan.. they might lose 1-0 or 2-0 but not 7-0)

Northern Bettia Oxen Cup 4 Squad

Style Modifier
Northern Bettia play in a standard 4-4-2 formation - due to their infamous tactics however, a maximum style modifier (+5) would be most appropriate here.


Roleplaying
If RPing first, the FANB (Football Association of Northern Bettia)
give our opponents permission to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like.

Given our 'unorthodox' tactics, there will probably be red and yellow cards
aplenty on both sides.

Northern Bettian fans are notorious hooligans, with their main gang being
called the Yuna Crew. Opposition players, supporters and police can expect
trouble.


Nickname: The Fire Ants
First Kit: Amber shirts with a black sash, black shorts
Second Kit: Sky blue shirts with a dark blue sash, dark blue shorts

National Stadium: Sakura Park, Anyuna (capacity 75,000 - approx 35,000 seated)
Although rather basic by modern standards, Sakura Park can still produce a match to remember for fans. Nestled in the eastern suburbs of the capital city, Sakura Park has large banks of terracing at either end with all-seater grandstands lining the two sides.

A few facts about Northern Bettia:
Northern Bettians are well-known for their rowdiness and drunkeness, especially the feared Yuna Crew, a gang of hardcore hooligans who continually aim to make a name for themselves as the hardest firm in the NS-world (usually without much success).
Northern Bettia is environmentally a bit of a mess, with the interim government more concerned with bolstering miltary strength than cleaning up. A number of Northern Bettia's sporting teams are made up of military personnel who play football part-time, as do a few of the Fire Ants squad.

A shrewd, calculating character who instilled into his squad a unique tactic of bending the rules at every opportunity, making the Fire Ants as difficult to play against as possible.

Team Tactics:
The Fire Ants employ a rather unique tactic in which they attempt to gain the upper hand by getting as many of their opponents sent off as possible, leading many to accuse the Fire Ants of being a right bunch of bloody cheats. Hacking, diving, feigning injury, all sorts of ref-conning activity - Northern Bettia have quickly turned dirty play into a fine art. This style of play, dubbed System Obani by inept tabloid journalists, has had mixed results in the past - it sometimes works well, but when it backfires, it backfires spectacularly (hence the style modifier).

GK: Harrison Carlt- The spaghetti legged keeper is known for his flying saves and great cross presence. Some are tipping him to start for WC 38 despite Halutz Dalton still being in the international team.
D: Marus Fuller- Tough imposing full back who would be a centerback except for his dazzling dribble skills and wonderful shooting ability. His temper has been a problem in the past and might be again.
D: Steven Rorshe- Large centerback. Not very fast but good a positioning, especially for a youngster. He's just large, very very large.
D: Marcus Toriento- Some though he should be a midfielder but his good tackling prowess brought him to the defense. Expect him to come up and link up with the midfield and provide a good extra attacker.
M: Kellen Holmes- Speedy winger who continues the tradition of fast Jews who are wingers. His speed and dribbling ability should help him out.
M: Erich Dunama- The eclecic Dunama is expected to lead the team. The captain of the squad his passing skills are also quite formidable.
M: Tavaris Miller- Another speedy wing who is known for his crossing ability. His goal in the U19 Milchama championships has made him the most famous player in the squad.
F: Odin Larsson- Viking! Viking! Viking! Also a fabulous crosser and can score a few here and there but Viking!
F: Kery Cork- Fast, deft touch, great center forward. The team's main threat will be looked upon to score goals.
F: Marcus Rice- Tall, fast, possibly gifted we're not sure. What we do know however is that this kid is good, like scary good.
F: Devin Martin- The perfect wing forward, fast and a good crosser.

MID - Rabbi Rabbit (M) 29, He's a Rabbi but a badly behaved on at that. Always playing "tickles" with the Princess.

STK - Gime Thadope (M), 22 - Ex U21 player. Proved to be quite a find at his first U21 in Starblaydia. Plans to emulate Dinkie Dosha's feats.
STR - Shane Hooney (M), 29 - Fierce competitor with a determination to win at all costs, even it means doing nasting things to defenders like kicking them in the nuts.
STR - Kara Kool (F), 18 - Daughter of the famous Rachel Kool. A Jewish "Hottie" to rival the other hottie Kate Dallas.

Crusaders go "Pink"

A new look Jeruselem team for the Oxen Cup 4 in Qazox proved eventful. New mother Princess Katherine Alexandra Dallas ran out with a different team to the one used during World Cup 37 and a new team strip!

The Jeruselem team had donned a pink and white strip which looked identical to the one used by the Jeruselem Angels for the Women's World Cup. The new team strip didn't affect the team performance as they beat Quakmybush with ease 3-1.

Team captain and recent mother Kate Dallas said
"The girls like the new team strip. Makes them feel, more female! My mother wore this strip and well, so does her daughter now!"

Hose Tunk (male) said
"The guys fell odd about it. The pink makes them feel a little queer but it's actually not a bad design. The girls like it though."

New Jeruselem coach Sark Kozy said
"I wanted a blue and white strip. Actually this one isn't too bad, I've seen worse strips. This one isn't for men."

It was a tense and nervous time over at the Estadia Pinka, or at least it was in the Northern Bettian dugout. With just three minutes to go, the scores were tied at two goals apiece and team boss Iwan Obani was not a happy man. After yet another first round exit at the World Cup, he was expecting his lads to bounce back in spectular style in their first match against Lovisa, but it just wasn't happening.

"Damn it! Come on lads! No! No! The goal's that way! THAT way!"

He returned from the touchline to his seat uttering a few choice obscenities under his breath, scunching up a styrofoam cup for good measure.

"I don't know what the hell they're doing. We ought to be thrashing these guys."

"Well, it would help if the ref would do us a favour or two. He hasn't sent off a single one of their lot" his assistant added.

"Perhaps I could help," substitute Lee Chobi chipped in, pulling a small case from out of a kit bag.

"Eh? What've you got there?" Obani asked.

"Oh, just a little something I've been practising over the summer. Watch him," he replied, motioning over towards the Lovisa keeper. Fire Ants star striker Dan Shinobu was shaping up to take a shot, but he scuffed it and it trickled over to the keeper's left hand side.

"Oh, he's got that covered... or has he?" Lee said as he jammed the pin into the doll's right foot. Right at that very moment, the keeper looked down at his foot with a pained expression on his face, reaching down at it and trying to pull it up as though it had sunk into the ground. The bench looked on in glee as the ball rolled into the net to put Northern Bettia ahead for the first time in the game.

"That was amazing! Lee, whatever made you think of using voodoo to knobble our opponents? You've taken cheating to a whole new level!"

"What is up with the change in team strip?"

Skate: Oh, we're just experimenting with our team strip. It's going to change again for the World Cup 38. We've been using the old one for too long.

"It's rumoured the coach is sleeping with one of female players, can you name her?"

Skate: You'll find out during the World Cup 38. I'm sure that will leak out then (smiling)

"Three Dallas girls in the team. Is there some kind of secret arrangement to have a Dallas girl in the team every cup?"

Skate: Not really, but Mum pulls a few strings here and there unofficially.

"Is this new pink strip the one for the next cup?"

Skate: "I think the next one will be more pink and blue. It's not going be the same. I'm not sure of the details."

"What do think of the new coach, who is a man for a change?"

Skate: We're used to him. He was around for the last two cups so it's not like we don't know him. He's a bit fussier than Kate Bush was but more controlled than Mum.

Scooter: He's French, like us - so you know what expect.

"Why do the women front up to the press and not the men?"

Scooter: We're just attention whores.
Skate: What Scooter said, the guys don't like too much attention.

"The team and coaching staff is very French. Is this on purpose?"

Skate: Not sure, but we have a lot of talented Frenchies in Jeruselem. I guess they are very football motivated compared to the rest of other ethnicities.

Scarlet: I wanted to be a diver but I found I wasn't too suited to being underwater so I played football with my friend here.

I'm not that tall you know and unlike Dazzi, I can't fly in the air. Can the midfield help out Hikfie when she gets swamped. "First thing I'd like to say is to thank the hosts here. Qazox is like second home, well sort of behind Ariddia and Jeruselem. We've had a great time here and think this cup was run to perfection. I'd like to thank our opponents too. What makes a cup win good is the quality of opponents well, we got good opponents here. Bad luck to the Milchama and Northern Bettia teams who could have been standing here with this cup, but I guess those extra goals did count. And the people and fans here! The fans were fantastic especially our fans who turned out in small by noisy numbers. You know those girls who following us around who look a bit but like me and my mother. You people who we are talking about. My team, did a fantastic job. This is a new team - we have a lot of new faces in this team and we are amazed we won. I'd really like to thank the team because I didn't win this cup, my team did. I really should be at home with my husband and newborn but my family said for me to go to Qazox. This cup is for my two families, the Dallas clan and the royal family and of course, my nation of Jeruselem ultimately. I've had a great time as had my team. I don't know if we will be back to defend this cup but still we thank everyone here. Everyone, thank you! Hey, let's home we have Qazox vs Jeruselem World Cup grand final.
