The, recently established, Republic of Apocoronas (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Apocoronas), aiming to the cooperation and peaceful coexistence of people, is willing to establish embassies in democratic countries. For this purpose, foreign diplomats are invited on a conference held on September the 30th at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” foreign affairs institute. Diplomats interested to participate, are currently requested to present their credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by, September 29th.

Dear Sirs; -

We received your invitation of the 26th and, upon review of the available information regarding the Republic, have considered it highly favourable to attend this conference. The Department of State has deemed it wise to extend friendly diplomatic relations to emerging and developing nations, especially nations displaying sensible foreign policies (unfortunately it seems so many citizens of the international community are inclined to heedless war and violence in recent years).

While neither the President nor the Ischiâne are able to attend due to pressing affairs of state, I myself, along with the Congressional Speaker Dr Luna Galen, would be happy to attend. As Chairman of the Department of State, I have both the authority and the experience to negotiate diplomatic and economic exchange; Dr Galen will attend in her capacity as a representative of the Legislative Body, and her presence may help to assuage tensions within the Grand Congress, to improve their view of foreign nations and to warm the relationship between the Executive and Legislative Bodies. As the Imperial Commonwealth has undergone a long period of isolation, distrust of foreigners is especially rampant, and the State Department believes that increasing visits to foreign nations may alleviate this situation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Polychrones Polychronides, was deeply disappointed by the lack of massive participation in the conference. He was at his office trying to figure out, why all other nations snob his effort to establish diplomatic communication. Suddenly, his secretary informed him about a respond. At last some good news. Mauvasia, declared it’s will to participate. Polychronides called Sifis Voskakis and asked him to send a response on behalf of the ministry. He also ordered him to forward the program of the conference to all UN members.

Sifis Voskakis, acted immediately. He wrote the respond to Mauvasia and sent it with the program attached.

Sifis Voskakis, was sitting in his desk, checking the last details of the conference. It was a major event for Apocoronas and Voskakis wanted to give his best in order to organize it properly.
His secretary, entered his office and handled him a new response from the Princess of Vanek Drury Brieres.

Voskakis seemed sceptic. It was a strange message. He decided to ask the princess to make her words more clear. He composed a repy letter and asked his secretary to sent it as soon as possible.

Your Highness,

Unfortunately your representative will not be allowed to enter the country. Un-certified blood import is illegal in Apocoronas thus individuals are not allowed to carry blood vials with them. Furthermore, exercising vampirism is prohibited in Apocoronas. I am afraid we are not able to provide accommodation for your diplomat.

The day has come. Voskakis was very anxious. He wanted everything to be perfect so that the conference proves to be successful. The main hall of “Eleftherios Venizelos” was full of people. The first officials arrived at about 9:30 a.m.
Sifis Voskakis and Polychrones Polychronides himself saluted all foreign diplomats at the lounge. The schedule was strict thus the conference started exactly at 10 a.m. . Helen Papadakis welcomed the attendees and Polychronides took the speech. Polychronides underlined the importance of diplomacy in the new globilized era and declared that Apocoronas will follow the road of cooperation and solidarity.
The second colloquist, Dr Papandreoy, refered to the current Conflicts, mankind is facing. He expressed his confidence that in the end, diplomacy will manage to solve any international problems.
At the Evening session, Tzimis Stafidas talked about the opportunities of international Cooperation in Agricultural issues. Stafidas expressed Apocoronas will to export it’s agricultural products, presenting analyses which proved that the Apocoronian olive-oil was of unique quality.
Maria’s Anagnostakis’ speech focused on the environmental problems Apocoronas is facing, due to it’s rapid touristic evolvement. She underlined, that new hotel settlements must be controlled in an effort to protect areas specified as National Parks. Refering to the protection of “Fourogatos” (Apocoronian national animal –wild cat), she warned that authorities will not tolerate illegal exportation by individual visitors. Anagonstakis also rung the bell about sea pollution caused during the summer season, claiming that Sea is the most precious fortune of Apocoronas.

The conference ended at about 20:30. Voskakis was very happy. Polychronides congratulated him about the organization but there was no time for party. The ministry of foreign affairs had a lot work to do. Foreign diplomats of Mauvasia, Kelssek and V.D.B. attended the conference and Polychronides had the chance to discuss with them the probability of exchanging embassies. He made an offer to Mauvasia and Kelssek whose representatives promised to respond as soon as they discuss the matter with their foreign ministers.
Talks with VDB where more difficult. Vampirism is synonymous with Cannibalism in Apocoronas, thus there was a serious problem in the cooperation between the two countries. Polychronides asked the representative of VDB to come up with a suggestion.
