So, this is baisically like eurovision. Same basic structure, although this is on NS, and nations of any region can join. If you do not know what Eurovision is, you can find info on it here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision).

How does this work: Everyone signs up in this thread, like you do for a world cup (simple "we sign up" post). then in the rp thread there will be 2 waves of rp's. In the first, posts shold give a description of the national final, and show the title of the nation's song and its artist. In the second wave, everyone posts their show. This should include what happens on the stage and that kind of stuff, and must include the lyrics, unless you post a video, wich gives you the ultimate nerd award, or post an MP3, which will put you close to getting the ultimate nerd award. Do not use artists/songs that exist in RL (parodies are okay, as long as enough is changed). Voting will be done IC, so you shoulld post your votes in the thread at that time, the way its done in eurovision ( giving the best songs (in your opinion) points, the best 12, second best 10, then next 8, then 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.

Sorthern Northland will again be taking part, this year our performance will actually be a song rather than a three minute silent protest, or at least that's what we're hoping.

Just to confirm, Kura-Pelland would choose to host the event at the Unity Arena in central Trilan.

The Unity Arena is a glass cube on the outside, and is part of a major development that took place upon the unification of Kura and Pelland (the border was formerly the Mura River that crosses Trilan). An identical building on the other side of the river is used as a museum, and on either side are also two 68-storey office buildings with an aluminium bridge spanning the gap between each.

The whole complex is a few minutes' walk from Trilan Centrepoint railway station, a massive circular hub serving trains from all directions; a nine-minute shuttle journey by maglev train operates from Trilan Airport to Trilan Centrepoint. Hotels are widely available in the central area of the city, both high-class and otherwise.

The stage will be placed at one end of the venue, which is adaptable for sports and music use; in its music guise, the capacity is approximately 23,400, including 21,550 seats (the remaining capacity accounted for by standing areas in the centre of the arena). The stage is glass, with a rear-projection wall behind it. LED lights and plasma screens can be fitted below the surface, and the plan is to utilise a bank of plasma screens along the centre of the stage and possibly forming a 'corridor' through the standing area that the hosts would walk along. LED lights would be used either side. There are also the usual array of theatrical and stage lights, although there are relatively stringent restrictions on strobe lighting and flashing lights generally after some high-profile cases of epileptic reactions in children.

Ikoville will have it's debut. The foreign minister said : "We are rookies in NS but we are good and we will be in the top 10" . Let's see.

Sorthern Northland
19-09-2007, 17:07
The Beningrad Morning Star has today revealed that the Ministry of Culture (MoC) along with Worldvision (Sorthern Northland branch), are preparing a bid to host the upcoming Worldvision song contest, it is rumoured that the event if given to Sorthern Northland shall take place in a 50,000 capacity arena adjacent to the James Connolly Stadium in Beningrad. The MoC is expected to release a full statement outlining their plans for the contest in the next few days.
Khenas
19-09-2007, 22:43
The Khenas Royal Broadcasting Service and WorldVision Group Khenas will also be submitting a bid to host the WorldVision song contest.

If chose we will host the contest in the Khenas National Stadium, a newly-built stadium in downtown Khenas City. the normal capacity of the stadium is 65 000 people, although it will be lower during the contest as some space will be taken up by the stage.

Being in the city centre, the stadium is in close proximity to many high-class and not-so-high class hotels, and to the city's central station, as well as easy access to Khenas International Airport.

As for plans for actually hosting the contest, we assure that we will not repeat the KRMB's mistake of attempting to censor the songs in the contest. Like the Bazalonians, we will be showing performances of our country's arts, but this time it will be limited to popular songs. The exact stage design is still unknown, as it will be chosen in a competion, although we will be look for four things in the designs:

- representation of an association with Khenas
- representation of native identities, history and modern themes, symbols and universal recognised messages.
- visibility from all angles
- settings of all new electronical possibilities, possibly including some movable parts of stage.
Sorthern Northland
20-09-2007, 13:07
A spokesmen representing the Ministry of Culture (MoC), Worldvision (Sorthern Northland branch (WVSN)) and Sorthern Northland Television (SNTV) has today confirmed speculation that Sorthern Northland will be challenging Kura-Pelland and Khenas for the hosting rights of the fourth edition of the Worldvision Song Contest.

The proposed venue for the contest is the James Connolly Arena, which is located next to the James Connolly Stadium in the heart of Beningrad, Sorthern Northland's capital city.

The arena is served by numerous bus links as well as having it's own tram stop. Their is also an underground railway station which forms part of the Beningrad Metro systems and is served by trains from Beningrad National Railway Station, Beningrad International Airport Station, Beningrad Domestic Airport Station, Beningrad East Station, Beningrad West Station, Beningrad North Station. The metro system has lines starting at all of these stations and have stations for the arena as well as numerous other smaller stations around the city.

International air traffic is served by Beningrad International Airport and from here their are numerous easy connections to the arena such as the metro and tram systems. All public transport in Beningrad including Sorthern Northland Airlines flights will be free for those who have tickets to see the event as well as those who will be performing in it.

The stage at the arena is located at the north end with standing room in front of it and then two banks of seating to the rear of the arena, all seats/standing positions have an unblocked view of the stage. The stage itself is a small, intimate encouraging the performers to interact with the audience more. The floor of the stage is clear, allowing the possibility of led lighting effects being used, the stage can also be fitted with pyrotechnics.

For those unable to to get tickets for the events a number of fan fests will be held throughout various locations in Beningrad and the rest of the country. These will be held in places such as town squares, parks and along the banks of rivers. All will be free to attend, and will have free refreshments. A large screen will be erected at each event showing the contest. The largest of these fan fests will be on the banks of the Southern River near it's mouth in Beningrad. It is expected that up to 500,000 people will be able to attend this particular fan fest, with capacity of around another 2,000,000 at other fan fests in Beningrad alone.

The hosts should lobby at nations, or show us the logo, stadium, ......

Any nation signed up can (but does not have to) TG me their vote for one of the three host bids (Khenas, Kura-Pelland, or Sorthern Northland). Then the votes are added up, and the person with the most votes gets to host the contest.

The plan is for a single competition if there are at most 20 nations. Failing that, there will be a 'qualifier' where all first-time entrants to WorldVision compete first; all nations may vote on this stage. If a qualifier is used, failed qualifiers will not be eligible to vote, so as to reduce delays on the show.

Scoring will be the regular 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-10-12 system.

Between songs there will be short video vignettes on TV while the stage is readied for the next act; these will reflect various elements of Kura-Pellandi culture, with an overarching theme of 'unity'. At the halfway point, and during the televote, there will be interval acts from various Kura-Pellandi performers, including dancers and acrobats.

ugh. what an awful logo. Please tell me you aren't going to use that in the RP thread.

Oh, and if you decide to actually use it, be ready for some IC teasing. This is going to give my commentary yet another reason to hate WorldVision.
