The Confederated Peoples generally maintained a policy of seeking diplomatic relations with any nation with whom they were not currently at war and who recognized the Vienna Convention or otherwise provided reasonable guaranties to foreign diplomats. This included allied nations, nations with whom they had little real interaction, neutral states and even hostile states during time of peace. The Confederals had little use for the idea that an embassy in and of itself was a statement of close friendship to be reserved for a few countries they especially liked. Denying an embassy, rather, was an extreme gesture of enmity and one that had rarely given. In fact, the Confederated Peoples continued to maintain regular diplomatic relations with a few nations whose trade they had entirely cut off and with a few implicitly hostile nations.

Nonetheless, the world was changing and the Confederals found that many of the nations with whom they had had longstanding relationships no longer had a meaningful presence in the world and that many emerging nations were ones with whom they had had no contact. It was for this reason that President Kairis, in her capacity as head of the Department of Foreign Affairs, had initiated a program to actively seek diplomatic relations with nations with whom the Confederated Peoples did not presently enjoy them Any nation was welcome, some, perhaps, more than others.

While the Confederated Peoples was actively seeking to establish diplomatic relations with new nations, it was also revisiting a number of older relationships. President Kairis announced that the nation was withdrawing from the Trade Network Association effective immediately. She also announced that she had been asked by the Confederal Assembly to prepare for them a report regarding Confederal membership in the Military and Economic Modules of VERITAS and to offer her recommendation regarding continuing membership. The Confederated Peoples had, of course, withdrawn from the Intelligence Module several months earlier. She was also asked for a comparable report on KIST. The President announced that data was being compiled and strategies discussed and that she and her people in the Department of Foreign Affairs should have a full report in relatively short order.

The Royal Embassy of Aerion in New Amsterdam is the diplomatic mission of the Grand Kingdom of Aerion to the Confederated Peoples of the Resurgent Dream. The Grand Kingdom of Aerion maintains it's embassy at New Amsterdam, capital of the Confederated Peoples of the Resurgent Dream. In addition to the embassy, the Grand Kingdom has Consulates Generals in major nations and cities of the Confederation, and consulates of some size in every member nation's capital where allowed.
