EDIT - I DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OXEN CUP 2 IF IT MEANS I'M TAKING 6TH PLACE AGAIN... (however, if I win the Oxen Cup 2 this time, I'm fine by it)

I quick question - did you leave room for yourself in that eight team round robin draw?

I quick question - did you leave room for yourself in that eight team round robin draw?

Qazox is not going to participate in this event, as they are busy doing the Coupe de la Francophonie. I purposely invited teams that were not a part of that. I do hope that it does not interfere with your Oriental Football Cup. The Oxen Cup will begin once the BoF starts.

The Jeru FC team are waiting for their new coach

Players: Hey, it looks like Dazza Dallas!
Dazza: Hello! Sorry, I'm not your coach. I'm retired.
Players: Awwwwwwww

Dazza:
He can't come today due to club commitments, but he sent the Bike to give you guys a message. You've been coached by chicky babes like me, my sister Debbie Dallas and Kate Bush but the free ride is over guys. Let's see ... double the training, no more chasing loose women and a night curfew. Oh, if you commit a crime - he's not going bail you out like I do. Sorry guys, the good times are over. You got a man as coach and well, you'll be doing a man's training now.

Players: Damn!
Dazza: The good news is you can mishave at my nightclub Kinky Kitties today, before Tunks takes over and makes your lives a misery.
Players: Hooray! Are you going pole-dance?
Dazza: I wish I could, but my knees can't take that these days. Anyway, follow me! The girls are waiting for you.

...

Tunk was at the doctor's office

Nurse: You can come in now!
Tunk: Thanks nurse.

Tunks sits down to find a new doctor, the regular doctor had retired. There was pretty young woman at the desk.

Tunk: You're the new doctor?
Doctor: Yes, just call me Sally.
Tunk: You look like someone I know.
Doctor: I'm Sally Dallas, one of Debbie's daughters. I'm not good at football so I became a doctor. So what's the problem?

Tunk: My back, it's not what it used to be.
Doctor: You're just getting older and your back isn't in the condition it used to. You need to put less stress on it.
Tunk: I realise that, but I do get sharp pains sometimes.
Doctor: That's not good. When does the pain happen? And where?

Tunk: When I bending over and it's in upper spine.
Doctor: I think we need to do an X-ray. You need to see specialist to have closer look.
Tunk: I'm going overseas soon, so what should I do not hurt myself.
Doctor: Avoid any sudden movements which could suddenly aggravate the current stresses. No heavy lifting with a bad posture.

Tunk: But I always try to have good posture, since I'm tall and I know tall people can have more back issues than others.
Doctor: I'll tell you what, I'll prescribe these anti-inflamatories to you for your trip. They'll reduce any sort of swelling that might happen.
Tunk: When I return, I will get a specialist to look at this.
Doctor: Hey, how come you aren't seeing the Jerusalem United team doctor for this?

Tunk: Oh him, rude prick. He's got the job because he's related to one of the team owners. He doesn't know anything.
Doctor: Don't worry, Sally Dallas will help you out. I'm a Dallas girl, we're here to help.
Tunk: Thanks ...
Doctor: Eh, you embarassed to be here?

Tunk: No, I get all wobbly around Dallas girls.
Doctor: That's alright, patients do that here. Business is good here!
Tunk: Why is that?
Doctor: I suppose having Dr Dallas on the sign outside has something to with it. I'm also the Tel Aviv Sharks team doctor. Here's your prescription.

Tunk: Thanks again.
Doctor: Take care of yourself. I'll try book you a specialist appointment as soon as you come back from that cup. I know when it is, Dallas girls follow the football.
Tunk: You're the first helpful doctor I've had for quite a while.
Doctor: Well, if it's service you're after - this is right place. Have a a business card, it's got my number on it.

OOC Oh, not again. Blasted PKs!

Abrams Tunk addressing his dejected Jeru FC team after losing on penalty kicks.

"Guys, guys! You played like men out there. Yes, we lost the game but we should have lost the game anyway. Sel Appa are a great team and holding out NIL ALL is great result against them. Sure, we can't win penalty shoot-outs but then neither does our Jeruselem team. We are worst team in this competition ranked 74 and Sel Appa was ranked 21st, so we did quite well. Look, we must look ahead as we play Cafundeu next. Yes I know that are ranked 18 but we can win. We can't sit down and sook like Dazza Dallas losing her dolly, we have to be men alright. Forget this game, we have play the next one. You played well, just play better next game. Think about this, no one thinks we can win a game this cup. We are going win a game, because I'm going make sure. There's no slacking off now, all the other teams have better players and well are better teams but we can get better too. So, let's not drag ourselves down now. We can lose a fight but it doesn't mean we are losers."

<Tunk's phone rings>

Tunk: OK, I need have privacy. Clean up and we can get back to hotel.

<Tunk answers phone>

Tunk: Hello?
Sally: It's Sally Dallas here, your friendly doctor.
Tunk: Hi, what's the news?
Sally: I got you those appointments, well after a bit of persuasion.

Tunk: Thanks for that.
Sally: You taking care of that back?
Tunk: Yes, I'm avoiding stressing it.
Sally: Good good, you'll get your bill when get home.

Tunk: It is a large bill? I'm not Dazza Dallas rich.
Sally: Well, I got you the best people so it's not cheap. But I tried keep the cost down, I want the best for my patients.
Tunk: That's alright then
Sally: Well, see you when come home.

<Tunk hangs up>

Private Nok Emdown: Hey, Sally Dallas eh?
Tunk: Hey, you listening in?
Private Nok Emdown: I left something behind, and came back.
Tunk: She's my doctor.

Private Nok Emdown: Looks like I'm getting a new doctor! What's she look like?
Tunk: Cute, brunette, short and well mannered. Nice body ...
Private Nok Emdown: That's it, I'm getting sick when I get home.
Tunk: You are already a sicko there.

It was a remarkable day in Lorax, Qazox, as the Imperial Team rectified a loss from the Oxen CUP 2 - the final match which put both Cafundeu and the Imperial Team in the spot vying for 5th place in the tournament. Of course, having played the Cafundelense team twice before - losing on both occassions, there was ample opportunity to learn from the previous mistakes. Never in the Cafundeu team struck first, with a firm header in the 15th minute. They stole another goal in the 36th minute, keeping on the pressure. It seemed that the Imperial Team would be down by two at half time, but a miraculous shot by Kim Daeeui brushed down the crossbar, hit the goalkeepers hands, and bounced into the net; had the goalkeeper's hand been set in just a slightly different angle, the goal would have certainly been blocked, but nonetheless it was 2-1 at 41 minutes and into half. With Kim Byeongji on the field for Seo Jeongweon, the Imperial Team saw a high spirited come back, with Kim Byeongji's midfield cross up to Yi Dongguk, tapping the ball behind the goalkeeper and into the net for the equalizer at the 50th minute. Continuing to apply pressure, the midfield surged forward a corner kick gone awry. A number of 5 shots came onto the Cafundelense goalkeeper, three hitting the bar and one fisted away. However, it was Yi Eulyong's single drive that sunk the third goal in the 78th minute. The score now favored the Imperial Team, and many expected that the last show would have gave the Cafundeu Team one last breath to equalize, but Kim Yongdae was well prepared for the onslaught, blocking 2 direct shots, and comfortably taking 4 other shots, blocked by defenders or the mischievous cross bar. Into stoppage time, the fourth official signaled 5 minutes, but it only took Kim Byeongji 2 minutes to find a welcome shot off Heo Jeongmu's lonesome cross. Settled at 4-2, the Imperial Team took away the win in the second half to lead the tournament on goal difference.

Head Coach Cha Beomgeun noted in the post-match remarks: "We played more strongly in the second half; there was no doubt that we dominated it. I am clearly impressed with the level of activity and commitment our midfielders gave today. Of course, the Cafundeu team played well too, but I can't say what happened in the second half. Maybe jetlag. We were fortunate really to have all of our player's strengths combined on one day, and I can only hope that it remains for our upcoming match against Az-cz. According to the tournament guide, they're our biggest opponent yet, and we'll have to perform extremely well against them as well." When asked about his perspective on the Az-cz team, Cha Beomgeun was hesitant - "They're a capable team. They're consistant in the World Cups, and they've an extensive history there. I can't say they will win for certain because our players will give them a fight; of course, I will survey the Az-cz/Lovisa match, because it will give us good clues as to how they play. Of course, I'll pray for a win too, because luck does play into the match sometimes." When asked if he believes in 'Margaret' Cha was confused slightly - "Who is Margaret? Or do you mean Mary? I'm not Catholic, you know. Or Marion? How many different women are named Margaret?" When further asked if he had ever sacrificed a rubber chicken, he was further exasperated - "What kind of question of that? This is football, not voodoo!" After these two questions, the Head Coach refused to any more questions.

Man of the Match Kim Byeongji was awesome in his match today, coming on at halftime to lead the team forward on one early assist and the one critical and final goal. He commented on his performance later - "We were all happy to be on the field. After leaving the Cup of Harmony with our quarterfinal loss to Novapsolu, I think we were ready for another challenge. Of course, everyone appreciated all of the rest we received after all of the tournaments, but this one match shows that we're still in good shape. And of course, we're happy that we beat one of the best teams in the world - they left the World Cup proper in the Quarterfinal stage, and I'm hoping that we can do to same against Az-cz." When asked about he feelings about the game, he replied, "I've heard that they're very short people, but I suppose that goes to show that height isn't everything - skill matters too, and I can't say that they're more skilled than we are. I guess we'll figure that out tomorrow."

Jeru FC
29-08-2007, 06:52
The Jeru FC were sitting around looking depressed after losing in extra time. They played well but couldn't finish off the game and well, two losses in row were leaving them almost last despite two close games. The coach needed to cheer them up a bit, as it seems they were destined to lose all their games as the worst ranked team in the cup.

They were banned from getting drunk or taking girls back to their rooms, so they didn't much much to do to cure their depression. Under Dazza Dallas, Debbie Dallas and Kate Bush, they did have a bit too much freedom which they missed.

Abrams Tunk wheeled in TV connected to Playstaton X. The team woke up and wondered what was going on. Tunk waved a DVD with familiar image on it at them, their favourite woman in the buff. It was a Virtual Strumpet DVD, one of the rather naughty versions. Pretty soon, the guys were taking turns at playing on the Playstaton X and the mood changed. The smiles were coming back and they were back to themselves again.

The next morning, the team were throwing themselves back into training which was a good sign.

Private Nok Emdown: Hey, coach!
Tunk: What's up with you guys?
Private Nok Emdown: What do you mean?
Tunk: One day, you're depressed and when you see naked women - you're back.

Private Nok Emdown: That's the army for you.
Tunk: So that's why Dazza Dallas does so well managing you lot.
Private Nok Emdown: Yes, she's the best coach - ever.
Tunk: Never mind, get back to the training.

Tunk:
OK, I want big game from you lot tomorrow. I know we can win one game, as we have pushed two of the best teams to their limits. Get out there and well, kick some ass. I'm not the best coach in the universe but if your hero Dazza was here - she'd want to get out there and win. If we make the finals of this, it's a miracle but we can still do this. We can beat some of those weaker teams, so let's just do it. Remember, girls don't want know about losers - only the winners. Think about that guys.

Another tense match, and on any other golden day, it would have been the Imperial Team striding on another celebrated win. Instead, it is a still celebrated but easily lamented loss to the Golden Goal score from Az-cz. The Imperial Team was more at ease playing the World Cup Quarterfinalists, with two goals scored each. The match started slowly, as both teams sought to figure the pace of the match. Az-cz started the offensive fire first, but it was Han Paeng's long volley to Yi Dongguk in the 35th minute that opened the scores. Az-cz was quick to retaliate and scored their first goal in stoppage time. With both teams even at half, Az-cz broke free from the deadlock in the 61st minute. Playing his aggressive today, he received a yellow card late in the 68th minute, leading Az-cz to another chance to double the lead. Kim Yongdae deftly handled the oncoming ball, giving the Imperial Team it's shimmering opportunity to stay in the game; and the offensive line did not fail to satisfy his hard work, with Seo Jeongweon's single volley that graced the keeper's arms into the far corner in the 82nd minute. With the time running low, both teams braced for what was apparent a match that would extend into extra time. Of course, the going into extra time wasn't very long as Az-cz found a stray chance and capitalized upon it dearly, as their offensive swarmed forward and forced the error that won them the game.

Despite the late loss, Head Coach Cha Beomgeun was content with the performance. "On any other day, it would have been a draw; I'm pleased that we stayed through the entire match, and that the players did perform to expectations. My focus is not so much on their inability, but their capacity; they filled a massive bridge of quality between themselves and Az-cz, and I believe that this team clearly won the match on heart. But of course, great football tournaments are not won on heart alone, and I doubt the Oxen CUP officials would agree that heart matters more in perspective to the score. Az-cz did deserve the win, but it's more painful to see the result so close and yet so distant in the practical end."

Despite the loss today, the Imperial Team still has a chance to end up in the top three, potentially in the top position if both Az-cz and Sel Appa fall out later in the tournament. Of course, this is all pending the Imperial Team's performance against Quakmybush - currently the worst performing team participating. Cha Beomgeun was quick to note some possible conflicts ahead - "They're ranked higher, and it you survey their last matches, they were playing against higher seeded teams. Considering this, they are still a very potent team. However, I think they will be hoping for a win against us, and as it was against Az-cz, they will have to fight for a win against us, and I don't think that they have the stamina to fight wholly."

Match Summary:
35' - HAN Goal (#17)
45+' - ACZ Goal
61' - ACZ Goal
68' - HAN YC (#14)
82' - HAN Goal (#6)
94' - ACZ Goal

In the Jeru FC team room ...

Tunk:
"Guys! Guys! What an effort. We just beat the number seven seed in the World Cup! That was a fantastic effort. See, we aren't the worst team in this cup. We can beat the best given a bit of luck and some effort. You know, it's like you are Jeruselem today. There's no Dazza Dallas to guide you but I now we can call ourselves winners. Guys, this is what I've been working towards. Now, we'll get respect. we might not be the best, most popular, well known or the favourite team here but the Jeru FC name must be stamped out in people's minds. We've got our win, and well we want than just this win. Put it this way, if we can beat Az-cz - we can beat everyone else. So I want commitment from you guys, a commitment to keep up the pace. A commitment to win all the next games so we can make the final again. If you can make to final of last cup, we can it again and even WIN IT. OK, let's get down and work hard. Fame, fortune and dancing girls who look like Dazza await you if we can do this, so are we ready?

Tunk was resting after another good day with Jeru FC. We wanted totally military discipline with his team but it was clear his men needed some external interaction with women to keep them motivated to keep on winning. Getting them into the usual sleazy places and places with lots of alcohol was out of the question, so he needed a new plan. Who else better to ask but the Queen of Sleaze herself.

Tunk: Hello, is that Dazza Dallas?
Dazza: Oh yeah, it's the bike alright - hey, it's you Tunky.
Tunk: Yes, it's me.
Dazza: You're doing a great job with the boys! they are turning it around now. Great win today.

Tunk: Well, it was the Quaks who haven't won a game yet. We should have done better really.
Dazza: Give the guys some credit, they maybe not the best but they do give a big effort when they are in the mood.
Tunk: Yes, they are fighters if they want to be. It is a military team after all.
Dazza: They play hard and party hard, that's the army for you.

Tunk: I have a question? I don't want them running around like idiots drunk in Qazox and taking girlies like you home, but they seem to need some female companionship once a in while. Any ideas?
Dazza: Hire whores or strippers?
Tunk: Err, no - hotels don't like that. OK, if you hire them - you'd get away with it but not me.
Dazza: Video games or videos?

Tunk: I would but I think real women are needed.
Dazza: Hey, I got it. Get in some cute female gym trainers so they can train and have contact with women.
Tunk: Brilliant Dazza. Yes, get fit and see women at the same time. You sure have a brain in that little box.
Dazza: Yes, and they will be tired later so they can't molest the women.

Tunk: Well, I'll be sending in some female gym instructors to whip them into shape.
Dazza: Whips! I like it.
Tunk: You've got a dirty mind there, I didn't mean that.
Dazza: Sorry, I'm in a Jacuzi. Feeling like a Playboy Playmate right now. Hey, I heard Sally is your new doctor.

Tunk: Yeah, is it an issue?
Dazza: She's one of your fans Tunky.

Jeru FC after losing their recent game to Kura-Pelland

Tunk
"I think we lost we don't have fitness. I don't the fittest team here. Look at you, most of you are not specimens of peak fitness. I think playing the World Cup and the games here have shown we need a new way to get you guys into the right shape. I think too much military training is bad for you but I think we need more aerobic fitness. So I have got Karen here, she's a fitness instructor. Tomorrow, we're going to work out. We're going to get you lot into shape so we don't look like dills when we run out tired. We should have beaten Kura-Pelland but we were too tired weren't we?"

Team: Yes, sir ...

Tunk:
"Karen here is going work out which of you blokes will need a bit more training. I know you lot aren't the premium army people, they are actually do army duties while I guess for you, you are lucky you aren't chasing terrorists around. So tomorrow, we're going fix the fitness. The good thing is Karen here is a female and I know it's been a while you've actually gone near one. And after that, we're going to some swimming. I think you need a break from army style training."

<Later>

Tunk: Hello son, what's up.
Hose: You missed a party! At Dazza's place.
Tunk: I prefer to avoid Dazza's parties, too many drunk Dallas girls.
Hose: Dazza got drunk again.

Tunk: Did she take her clothes off again?
Hose: Yeah, she did. Kate behaved herself though.
Tunk: It's not Dallas party without the host stripping.
Hose: Sally Dallas was there.

Tunk: And?
Hose: We got on really well. Oh, she's pretty cute too.
Tunk: Don't you have a girlfriend?
Hose: Me, no ... so I'm looking. Well, I chatted up Kate but she's taken so I have too somewhere else.

Tunk: Hikfie?
Hose: Too dumb
Tunk: Well, there's nothing wrong with a doctor.
Hose: It did help she's a fan of yours. She seems a nice girl, not crazy like Dazza. Not quite as cute as Kate but I can't complain. Any family who produces women who look as young as Dazza Dallas does at her age, can't be all bad.

OLHO NO LANCE! YOUR SPORTS MAGAZINE!
Oxen Cup team analysis after 5 games - written by Sílvio Ruiz

While the clubs of our country are buying and selling players, and making the last preparations for the start of the National League (season preview coming in approximately a week!), and while our National Team trains hard until the command of the new coach (not so new...), who will presented in the season preview too, the players that want to get a place in the National Team (or the ones that had just left it) play in the Oxen Cup, a good tourney where they can have the honour to play with the red-black (or yellow) shirt against many other famous National Teams.

And a good news is that Cafundéu is currently on the first position! Yes, the team had a bad start against the dangerous team of Daehanjeiguk, but could recover with important games, including the last one, a very important win over Sel Appa, Oxen Cup 2 champions. After losing the first game in the last Oxen Cup, our team now seems ready to recover the title.

But now, let's see some facts about our last 5 games:

1st Game - 4x2 loss against Daehanjeiguk
Game comments: the team had a good start, but didn't defend well when the Han counterattacked and, in the end, paid the price for the bad tactical organization. The coach Fabrício Barglaux had to make many changes in the team after this game.
Best Player: César Vergara (intelligent passing skill saved the team from suffering more goals).
Worst Player: Alemão (the strong defender forgot to play football and made many infantile mistakes).
Goal Scorers: Vergara and Marcelinho.

2nd Game - 2x1 win against Jeru FC
Game comments: still with tactical problems, the team fought hard and could win the game, but the performance was far from good. Some players didn't participate much and others had too much to do.
Best Player: Gabriel Gray (good defensive and offensive plays put him a step closer from the National Team).
Worst Player: Diego Senna (I didn't see him playing).
Goal Scorers: Aristóteles and Marcelinho.

3rd Game - 2x0 win against Kura-Pelland
Game comments: this time, the team seemed much more organized, and had some interesting and original moves, especially from set pieces. A good performance of the whole team.
Best Player: Leandro Assis (the master of the midfield is working hard to stay in the National Team).
Worst Player: Clodovil (entered in the second half to do nothing).
Goal Scorers: Robinson (twice).

4th Game - 4x1 win against Lovisa
Game comments: Barglaux made many changes in the starting team and they were great! Great work of the midfielders, the defenders had few things to do during the game, as Cafundéu was with the control of the match. Fast and deadly attacks were the result of an intelligent tactical preparation combined with will to fight.
Best Player: Marcelinho (simply the best player of the whole team, in my opinion).
Worst Player: Fábio Vital (could attack more, the defence didn't need him so much).
Goal Scorers: Robinson, Carlão, Marcelinho (twice).

5th Game - 3x2 win over Sel Appa
Game comments: not the same level of performance of the game against Lovisa, but the team played well and showed some new moves, resulting in two of the three goals. The midfield was good as always, but the defence wasn't in its best days.
Best Player: Marcelinho (again, carrying the team and playing a major role in the victory).
Worst Player: Moisés (both goals happened after mistakes of the goalkeeper).
Goal Scorers: Vergara, Gray, Aristóteles.

Best Player so far: Marcelinho.
Goal Scorers: Marcelinho (4), Robinson (3), Aristóteles and Vergara (2), Gray and Carlão (1).

Starting XI: Moisés, Gray, Vital, Alemão and Carlão; Vergara, Assis and Marcelinho; Senna (or Del Valle in more difficult games), Aristóteles and Robinson.

Tunk:
"Great effort guys. You know, we could well if keep this up. We've won 3 of last fours which is fantastic for a team your rank but we must keep up the work rate and commitment. We can't rest at any moment here. We must keep on going. I got Karen's report and lot of you need work on the body. Too much lazying around for some of you, and I think that's got to end. Army men are strong fit and ready for war. Not you lot, too much wine and women. I'm going make sure go back the army, a lot stronger and fitter than ever. Some people call this team Loser FC but I'm not. It's going be like Jeruselem, a team of real football players. That's it. You can go have rest and think about what you want to do as an army man. You want to be army slackers or football players?"

Team get their stuff and head for the showers.

Tunk gets an email from this son Hose

Good news. Me and Sally Dallas went to the movies today. What can I say, Dallas girls are fun. She paid for the all night, I guess doctors have lots of money. She's into those football movies, not chick flicks. She doesn't like chick flicks but likes those oddball movies with idiots doing good in the end. She's quite talkative and has no issues talking about her family, but then we know what her family is like. She said she was a lousy football player but had enough talent to be a doctor and doctors aren't dumb lot. She talked about sports injuries and how I can avoid them. Unlike Dazza Dallas she's not into getting drunk or alcohol but has a drink now and then. She is reserved for Dallas girl, well like Rashina Dallas was. It seems the crazy ones come from Dazza's side and the calm ones from Debbie's side. The only weird thing, is she's fond of Green. Green car, green garden, green clothes and a cat with green punk hair style. Not Barbie pink like Dazza and Kate. I think it's going well. She said she was looking for tall man, as most of her family tend to be short.

No team has truly taken this Oxen League - for that is what it really is - by the horns, every team losing at least two of their first six games but only two losing more than half.

Kura-Pelland sit sixth on goal difference despite a 50% record, Daehanjeiguk claiming a hard-fought victory in an extremely exciting match in which Brian Hugill excelled - scoring all three goals for his side - but the Imperial Team had more strength in depth, with four separate names on the scoresheet.

Three teams can still win the competition. [OOC at Qazox: with Az-cz and Cafundeu to play each other, the teams on three wins cannot take the title, as someone will have a 5-2 record.] Kura-Pelland face Lovisa desperate for a final-day win to tip their record the right side of 50-50.

A relative lack of media attention has been afforded to this competition, due to severe weather across the country - a tropical cyclone causing major damage to the coast between Yarzoya and Bargoiten, coupled with a major heatwave in Sudesti and southern Lakeland and some severe thunderstorms in Lakeland. In total, more than 1,500 people have died as a result of the weather, most through heatstroke in Sudesti. Economic damage has been estimated at K5bn.

Gnomes add another title that means little

Despite little attention and no players expected to earn spots on the starting side the Gnomes topped some tough competition to bring home a crown, but not the only one left Az-czzers really dream about. Already having won titles in Surfing, Water Polo, back to back titles in baseball, a Baptism of Fire title and a second place finish in hockey the Gnomes now also have an Oxen Cup title. Alas, the dream of a World Cup trophy doesn't seem much closer despite this triumph.

Still despite that fact the squad of second rate players was quite pleased to pull out victory. After stumbles in the middle to Kura-Pelland and Jeru FC the team rallied to earn three victories over the well known sides of Quakmybush, Sel Appa and Cafundeu to sneak away with the title on head-to-head victories over Sel Appa.

Coach Zax-Im was in attendance for the final and stated that despite their fine spirit in maintaining their composure in the face of those stumbles, he was unlikely to pick any of the players on this squad for the world cup side. Only Ku-Dot, the leading Az-cz scorer this tournament really has a shot at the side. While most Az-czzers are not yet tuned in to soccer this is still a nice boost.

We lost?!?!? Oh the humanity!

04-09-2007, 23:49
With a historic 3rd place finish, Head Coach Cha Beomgeun made an announcement following the final match:

"Since our last showing at the Qazox Oxen CUP 2, we have shown incredible improvement. I can only say that our conclusion in this cup has demonstrated that Han football skills and tactics are becoming more and more prominent and competent in the international field. I am glad that we have taken 3rd place, and I can only say that the players have made considerable improvement since the last 6th place finish. Critics can note that the playing field is considerably smaller, but I doubt that they will also consider the increased challenges from the opposing teams as well. We are considerably honored to have played here again, and I wish the Qazox Oxen Cup coordinators much luck in their future organizations."

The 3rd place comes after two wins over Cafundeu early and Kura Pelland decisively put the Imperial Team over its competitors. The winners of the cup - Az-cz - were placed there after their earlier win over Sel Appa. In all, the 8 nation cup was highly successful in the opinion of the IFA, and the Imperial Team continues to look for more challenges in the near future.
