Is there any interest in an international football championship?
I'm just asking if anyone's interested in principle...dunno how the details would work, and I'm open to suggestions.
Just curious if there's any interest in the idea at all.

We is interested but we as just started the first round of the Vinny Jones Cup. Costaguena loves football (soccer), beach cricket and athletics. In the far off Province of Illanos the descendants of Welsh miners love rugbi and male voice choirs. In the south the local fishermen love underwater golf.
As a sports loving people we would like to offer to put on the first World Cup in our beautiful country..

I know there's a few Americans who understand US football here but not sure about the numbers. They won't be anywhere like the numbers for soccer.

With the international nature of NS you do really have to specify that it's 'American' Football.

I ran one for 5 instances and figures never went higher than 16. So I don't think it'll work for too long

Don't bother with someone like this:
[11:40pm] LE: "football" meaning gridiron?
[11:40pm] LinusAndLucy: is there any other kind?
[11:40pm] Bazalonia: Yes... many
[11:40pm] LE: in here "football" generally means what Americans call "soccer"
[11:40pm] LinusAndLucy: then in here it's used incorrectly
[11:41pm] LinusAndLucy: because the pussyassed European game is called "soccer"

What is the difference between football and football? Nothing much except for some American spirit.

American football, they spend most of the time throwing instead of kicking the ball.

There's a change afoot in Australia.
In most parts of Australia football was understood to mean Australian Rules while the roundball game was called soccer, as it is in the USA. More and more it's becoming Australian Rules (or Australian Football) and football.
Mind you, soccer is so far behind football and rugby in popularity that it's played in summer in Oz so it doesn't have to compete. In summer!
