I still like the crumbling earth idea. Ooo, there can be geomancers who have lots of sway because they can combat the effects.

Well a few things that might be useful to discuss:
Gods: Active(Can/do visit the mortal world), Passive(Grant spells but otherwise not much involved), Bound(Can't/forbidden to visit the mortal world), Uncaring(Don't give a flying fig for the world now that they've created it ie: the gods are too busy chasing the goddesses and pestering the gods of booze) Other(Insert idea here)
Magic: Common(Anyone can learn given basic training/multiple sources/methods to draw upon magic, Uncommon(Needs extensive training or right bloodline/few sources to draw upon magic), Rare(Very special training(comparative to getting a doctorate/only 1-2 sources to draw upon magic) Other(Insert idea here)
Races: Any(Any race that you can come up with, from kobold to a dragon), Humanoid(Limited to humanoid/bipedal races), Traditional(Humans, Dwarves, Elves/sub-species, Halflings, Half-orks, Gnomes) Other(Insert idea here)

Good work Theao; however, before we make any decisions, I think we need to know our basic plot and where it's heading.

I am fine with a crumbling earth RP (though I would like some others also), but that requires you to head the thread and be active in moving it along.

Ah, missed it but have now read it.

Another possiblity(thought more difficult as it could put some of us at odds) would be each is serving his lord to get the artefact as the world is in trouble from whatever source. However while of the kings would be doing it for the greater good and some to dominate the world, they all think they'd be able to use it best if they were its sole owner. Thus while we work together to get it, we'd be working against each other(for the most part) trying to get it home/steal it. In a sense a type of Kill the Carrier situation.

As for leading the thread, I dunno... being active is definite.

Hmm, got an idea that'll fit along those lines, except revealing it would ruin plot twists I have in mind. Hmm...

I'm in. If this is going to be relevant to Rots and CoG then how many years from the storyline is it? I'll start hammering out ideas in the mean time.

@Theao: I like it. Earth is crumbling from unknown. Powerful legendary object is thought to be able to triumph, so people send off their best to find it. They most likely meet up and go searching together (if they reveal it to one another), but each wants it for his/her own and anything can happen. All the while, what is causing the earth to crumble as sent forth hellspawn/etc.

@Rhinara: If you want to start and lead it, that would be great.

@Lup: I am not sure if it is going to be relevant or even in the same world... but if you can figure how to use one of your characters in it without creating a conflict of some sorts, that seems fine to me. Until we start, other ideas are great.

I'm around much of the morning and afternoon (PST), Monday through Friday, so if that schedule works out with everyone, then I can be the DM, so to speak (unless someone else really wants to do it?). Evenings and weekends don't work too well for me, unfortunately.

I have in mind a bit of traveling to distant lands (across continents), so a new, unique world might work best. Thoughts?

Sounds good to me. Let's hop to it... you can create a new OOC thread if you want with a bit of information, etc. or we can just use this one. Up to you.
