I'm new here and want to get into wars, international issues and things. What all do I need to know? Is there a system for calculating economy, military, whatever?

And nobody wants to help :(
OOC: It really depends on what you're trying to do. If you just want to jump right into war, you'll find no takers here. It would be a good idea to read posts by other people first here and in the International Incidents pages. Each have their own styles and people that populate them. You should be able to figure out your niche from there.
If you decide to remain, reading the stickies (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=406680) will give you many tips on relating to others here. It may also fuel a creative process. This may or may not help, but it's all I can say right now. Lots of folks have used the Sunset Economy Calculator (http://www.sunsetrpg.com/) located on this page, including myself. This might give you an idea of what you have to work with. The calculator can be found on a link at the bottom of the page.
You can PM me with any other questions you have. As it is, i've been drinking wine today, so it only took me half an hour to come up with this. APPRECIATE IT!

Generally speaking, it is not good to jump right into a war. Build yourself up first unless you want to be levelled in a day. Which you probably don't want.
What would I suggest? Begin by forging alliances and improving your economy. Build up your military. Set a course for your government. And read up on other RP's to learn.
For RP's, start by doing embassy swaps and offering alliances. Announce your nation, and its information. Find a good region that fits you. Also, if there are any questions, ask any of us!
If I can help you out, just let me know. I'm here to help out everyone, especially you new guys. :)
