It's that time again time for the 2nd OXEN CUP. This time it will be a TRUE Swiss style tourney. For those who may not know what a TRUE Swiss style tourney is: here's the basics:

Each team will play other team in the first round. After the completion of the first round the winners will be re-seeded and play each other, while the losers will do the same. After the second round, the remaining unbeaten teams will be re-seeded and play each other, and so on. the tourney will continue until there is only one unbeaten team left.

An example:
A vs B
C vs D
E vs F
G vs H

A D F and G all won

the 2nd round would be:
A vs D
F vs G
B vs C
E vs H

A and G win and advance to the finals while D and F drop. B and H won thier matches, so the 3rd round will be:

A vs G -for 1st place
B vs D
F vs H
C vs E- for 7th

A wins and since they are the last unbeaten, they win the tourney. B and F win their Matches, and F finsihes 3rd due to winning in the first round. D takes 5th due to winning in the first round and E beats C leaving C as last place.

Each team will play 4 matches, but maynot play a team twice. If there is an odd number of teams, there will be an additional round to determine the finishes.

So if you'd like to try this unique tourney, please sign up below:

1- There must be a winner in each match, so no draws! This is not a signup, just a general notice: Swiss system tournaments can work with draws. In my experience, the rule of "play someone with an equal record" is subsidiary to "don't play the same team twice." But for example, if teams X and Y drew in the first round (and nobody else did), the higher-ranked of X and Y could play the lowest-ranked winner of the first round game, while the lower-ranked X and Y would play the highest-ranked loser. Of course, you don't have to do it this way, just know that Swiss systems can indeed allow for draws.

Zwang, thanks, but for simplicity's sake it's easier not to have draws.

Expected starting lineup, using a curious 4-1-2-2-1 formation (style modifier zero): Will; Curatin, Vega, Caparelli, Queiroz; Tensen; Belling, Eldridge; Le Monde, Arheim; Cazarez.

The team may also use a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, again style zero; in this formation, Tensen is again the holding midfielder with Belling and Eldridge in front of him, but Le Monde is replaced by Alazzi (who plays behind the two strikers) and Arheim is replaced by Mallory.

You may do anything except godmodding. Also the only players you can send off are the following aggressive players, who should also pick up most of the yellow cards too: Curatin, Vega, Tensen, Hart (if he plays, which he probably won't), Edmonds (ditto), Campbell (ditto).

Head Coach Cha Beomgeun released figures for the upcoming match against Sorthern Northland. Listed as Match A7 for The Qazox Oxen Cup, the Imperial Han Football Team faces stiff opposition from all ranks around the world - from the top seeded Sel Appa (#23) team to the lowly Collonie (#130) football teams.

The first match is a good warm-up for the Imperial team, facing another unranked team, Sorthern Northland. Head Coach Cha Beomgeum, in releasing the team layout for the next game, conceded difficulty in preparation. "We are facing a team with unknown potential. While I have confidence in the players to give their best chance to win this match, I realize that I will be responsible for the success of this team, as we venture into unknown territory. The players have prepared excellently, so much that I doubt that they would give any true fault of their own accord; I have talked with the players and they are confident that I have given them the best chance for success. And I vow to make them stand strong. I only hope that the first few minutes will be enough to gauge the opponents and get them the best chance to win."

If the Imperial Team win Match A7, they are set to play against the winners of Match A8, to be decided between Kura-Pelland and Rugiero. A loss will set the Imperial team against the losers of the same match. Despite the long distance travel, crowds of red have flocked to Qazox, managing to escape the nightmarish situation of visiting a diplomatically unrecognized country (Qazox). However, MBC officials have received information that Imperial officials have granted permission for supporters of the team to visit Qazox, as long as the native country admits them.

<Somewhere in Qazox>

The Jeru FC team were sitting around waiting for their new coach Kate Bush to appear but the plane was late. So they spent the time talking about girls and well girls. A small woman and a familiar bodyguard appeared finally, yes it was Dazza Dallas and the former OXen Cup 1 captain "Sticky" or Major Rasmuffin Stickus.

Dazza:
"Hi everyone! It's me Dazza again. Kate Bush can't be here because she's pregnant again so you'll just have to put up with me again. You all know who my bodyguard is. Kate will coach you losers for the world Cup 36 proper, but I'm in charge for this cup for now. No need for introductions really, so it looks like the same losers as last time."

Sticky: They don't look any smarter either.
Dazza: You're right, same people! Hey, I was supposed to get a new better team. What happened?
Sticky: I think most of those army guys went into the special forces, so we're stuck with this mob again.
Dazza: Well, it least I know what you guys are about. No training today, but need to check who's here and who's not.

<Later>

Sticky: Everyone's here, but we need a team captain.
Dazza: I'll do that later. So you guys ready?
sticky: They look half-dead to me.
Dazza: I'll whip them into shape.

Team: BONDAGE DAZZA! YAY! SWEET! WOOHOO!

Sticky: They haven't changed.
Dazza: No, they haven't. Poor Kate Bush, she doesn't know what she has to put up with.
Sticky: They still love you.
Dazza: That's one good thing anyway.

Knifer: You two do anything on plane getting here?
Dazza: Not really, too many people in the plane for that.
Sticky: (smiling) Nope, pretty boring plane trip.

Knifer: And after the plane trip?
Dazza: Well, that was different ...
Sticky: Dazza's a fun companion in a shower!
Dazza: Everyone knows that.

The Imperial Han Football Team made its international debut with a 4-2 victory over Sorthern Northland in the Qazox Estadio Azul Flores Stadium. A cheering field of red helped lead the players to victory. The event was clean and no bookings were recorded for the match. The match was also highlighted as the highest scoring match in the tournament so far, with 6 total goals and the Imperial Team leading with 4 goals netted.

The match began on time and the Sorthern Northland team made a bold dash to the Han lines and scored their first goal in the 5th minute off a corner. #11 was in the box, making a clean header past goalkeeper Kim Yongdae (#1). Despite the surprise shock, the Imperial Team kept a high head and aimed for a quick equaliser. After struggling through a rigid defense and a stubborn goalkeeper, Kim Eunjung (#11) shot a quick blot over the defense and landed it in the top corner pocket in the 39th minute. Going into halftime with the score even, the Imperial Team struck hard again, with another goal by Kim Eunjung in the 56th minute. Superb ball handling kept ball possession in Han hands - quite literally as in the 64th minute, defender Pak Jingyu nonchalantly hit the ball with his hands in the box, as a wary ball lofted by #11 clearly would have gone over the bar. The following PK shot was a sure goal, evening the score again. Despite the mistake, the team repaired quickly, with substitutions for Seo Jeongweon (replaced by Kim Byeongji) and Pak Geonha (replaced by Jang Yogon). The substitutions added some spirit to the match, and in the 78th minute Kim Eunjung laid a clear cross that found its way to Kim Byeongji (#21), edging the score again 3-2. The Han team was looking to edge out with the slender lead as late attacks by the Sorthern Northland team made several shots, all rejected by Kim Yongdae. In the final moments (91+ minute), a late attack led to a corner kick. Yi Daeeui (#10) kicked a lofty ball, reminiscent of the opening strike, and found a path straight to Go Jongsu (#9) who shot directly at the goal. The strike landed in the back, as the goalkeeper reached for air to at least deflect the shot. By then, it was too late to save the decisive goal as the referee called an end to the match with the goal.

Back home, awe-struck watchers voted for the player of the match: Kim Byeongji.

In the meantime, Match A8 showed the Han Team their next rivals in the upcoming match - Kura-Pelland. After play for 90 minutes, the decisive goal was scored in extra time, which gives Head Coach Cha Beomgeun some good news. "Well, we've demonstrated that we're a hard team to beat, but our next opponents are hard to win. If we can get the first goal and exhaust them out for the next half, we'll have the game in hand."

Summary of events:
5' - SN goal (#11)
39' - HAN goal (#11)
56' - HAN goal (#11)
64' - SN PK goal
78' - HAN goal (#21)
91'+ - HAN goal (#9)

The Jeruselem Army News

Jeru FC do the impossible again

Our favourite army team (OK we have only one) won their first game in the Oxen Cup 2. They did in the way the normal team does not - extra time. After being tied 1 ALL in normal time with Collonie ranked 130 in the World Cup compared the Jeru FC at 114, they won in extra time.

The original coach Kate Bush got knocked up so the other coach who normally gets knocked up as well, that's Dazza Dallas who coached the original Oxen Cup team took over. Well, what a great job Dazza Dallas for our team. After two draws in the World Cup 35 under her sister, Dazza delivers another win for Jeru FC again.

In all respects Collonie aren't the team to beat, but we face the unranked Ambrose-Douglas next. They put up a hell of a fight going down to New Montreal States 3-2. OK the States are ranked a measly 110 but in the World Cup unranked and 114 are much the same. Jeru FC is not like Jeruselem at #9 as people should realise.

Can we say in the army, we all love Dazza Dallas. Sure she's over 40 years of age, but she's fantastic pinup girl for the army. We do have a tendency to like naked women too.

Oh, speaking of Dazza Dallas. If you look up the new Ariddian Embassy address - it looks like Dazza's place. Well, the current Jeruselem Embassy is Dazza's place so don't be confused. So all army people having dirty holiday in Ariddia, Dazza's place is the Jeruselem Embassy. Oddly, you look at the Embassy phone numbers - Dazza is the Ariddian Embassador too.
Kura-Pelland

In years to come, Kura-Pellandi pub quizzes will ask the question 'who scored Kura-Pelland's first international goal in any competition?'.

The answer, improbable as it may seem, is Charles van Halen.

The 17-year-old defender headed in a Tom Curatin corner with nine minutes left in extra time to give Kura-Pelland a 1-0 victory over Rugiero in Iguana de Mia, viewed by 49,000 inside the Estadio Azul Flores and a massive 39.5% of all Kura-Pellandi TV viewers - destroying the ratings for the Baptism of Fire. They will now meet Daehanjeiguk, who are exploiting mysterious 'fluid time' technology to field the same side in both BoF and Oxen Cup, while Kura-Pelland field a youth team for the latter.

Youth team manager Jack McAvennie, a ferocious critic of the new-look BoF, says 'a substantial portion of this team will play in the World Cup', adding: 'this team will have experience of international football. What will that team have?' Referring to the recent 'baseball nation' speech by a K-PAB spokesman, he said only this: 'Two words. No longer.'

In the first half, Kura-Pelland looked uncertain, trying too hard to make things happen, Brandon Eldridge being particularly guilty of this with one too many fancy trick invariably costing him possession. Things improved in the second half, but Stephen Hill was forced into one very good one-on-one save after a counter-attack completely against the run of play. Indeed, Rugeiro's danger was primarily from counter-attacks, or occasionally set pieces. They weren't lacking in effort, but appeared to lack real talent, and when Bergundsen replaced Eldridge - with the impressive Iain Belling moving to the right - the traffic became very clearly one-way.

Nothing to show for it until van Halen replaced Quieroz, who was struggling with a knock, at the start of extra-time. After one Belling cross was headed onto the bar by Xavier Le Monde, it became clear that Rugeiro were clinging on for the penalty shoot-out.

Thanks to van Halen, it never came.

Sorthern Northland who like their opponents were taking advantage of 'fluid time' to field the same side in both the BoF and Oxen Cup, and playing in their first proper match, were unable to get off to a winning start, but a an early fan favourite had emerged to the capacity crowd of 71,000 who had packed themselves in the Estadio Azul Flores.

Prior to the tournament the name on everyone's lips was Ben O'Bagels. The President of Sorthern Northland was a keen footballer and was in the national squad as the first choice left winger. It was a surprise then to see that when the teams where announced that playing on the left wing instead was Feng Shui, a 78 year old who back in Sorthern Northland was a grandfather to 12 grandchildren.

The decision to put a 78 year old in for the president seemed a strange one and very few people had expected it, but after just five minutes the decision seemed to have paid off, after Feng won a corner down the left wing. Relondinho then whipped in the corner and Feng timed his run perfectly to send a powerful header into the back of the net for Sorthern Northland's first ever goal and his name in the history books.

Sorthern Northland dominated the play for the next twenty minutes or so, with Feng delighting the crowd with his jinking runs down the left and his perfect crosses. Had Sorthern Northland's two strikers, Neuville Senna and Kim Min-Kim had more composure in front of goal they could have converted several of these crosses to gain a big lead, but the keeper from Daehanjeiguk was in inspired form and looked unbeatable.

Daehanjeiguk soaked up the pressure from Sorthern Northland and after about thirty minutes the tide turned with much of the game being played in the Sorthern Northland half. Again Sorthern Northland's keeper, George Parmer was in top form, but eventually Daehanjeiguk managed to break through following a quick shot from Kim Eunjung. The teams went into half time with the score at one all, but Daehanjeiguk had more reason to be pleased.

The Daehanjeiguk onslaught continued at the start of the second half and Kim Eunjung again struck to score a brilliant individual goal, having dribbled past six defenders starting in his own half in a way Maradona would've been proud of.

After this Daehanjeiguk sat back and allowed Sorthern Northland to come at them, with Feng Shui again being the heartbeat of the side. Sorthern Northland eventually found a way through after Daehanjeiguk defender
Pak Jingyu foolishly handled a cross from Feng Shui, the cross was one of the few bad crosses by the ageing winger all day. Feng Shui then stepped up and tucked the penalty to the keepers left.

The fact that the two teams were competing in two tournaments at once began to show as the players tired and the game slowed down. Both teams made substitutions in the 70th minute with new the fans favourite Feng Shui being replaced by President Ben O'Bagels, while for Daehanjeiguk, Kim Byeongji and Jang Yogon were brought on in place of Seo Jeongweon and Pak Geonha.

The fresh legs of Daehanjeiguk in the end made the difference as Kim Eunjung found space to fire in a low cross for the substitute Kim Byeongji to convert for a 3-2 lead.

Sorthern Northland weren't defeated yet however and spent much of the last ten minutes attacking the Daehanjeiguk goal to no avail. Daehanjeiguk secured the win in stoppage time having won a corner following a swift counter attack. Yi Daeeui floated the ball in for Go Jongsu to jump above Sorthern Northland's tiring defenders for his teams fourth goal of the game.

Sorthern Northland will now play Rugiero at the Vogg War Memorial Stadium.

Playing in their first ever international football game, or as many in the Federation like to call it "that strange sport played by damaged people", the Federation side somehow pulled out a 3-2 victory over #110 ranked New Montreal States.

Michael Smith started the scoring in the 15th minute off a great pass by Jacob Richardson. NMS responded before the Federation side ripped off two more goals, one by Vernon Zambin in the 23rd minute, and one by Patrick O'Grady in the 40th. NMS scored once more, but goalkeeper Franklin Tartan kept out a flurry of shots near the end of the game to preserve the win.

The Federation side, who doesn't even have a mascot name yet, will play vs. #114 ranked Jeru FC next at Ganja Vodka Park, which has a capacity of 67,984.

At the Jeruselem training camp ...

Dazza: OK guys, I'm going shape you all up for the World Cup. You all look like you've been spending too much time in a whore house. So the good Major here has designed a special football obstacle course for you good amry people. You have dribble the ball through the course and if you loose the ball, you must restart. And don't get in each other's way like you usually do. So grab a ball, and do the job. And no shortcutting either!

Team: Yes coach!
Dazza: Good.
Team: Nice tits!
Dazza: Why do guys always say that? But never mind. Get going and don't come back until you finish the course.

Sticky: Dazza, your top is semi-transparent.
Dazza: Well, gives them a little motivation doesn't it.
Sticky: Well, yeah.
Dazza: Oi, when are going get a wife?

Sticky: I'm waiting for you to ask.
Dazza: Well, that's not going to happen anytime soon. Hey, but I know of some women who might be your type.
Sticky: Only nymphomaniacs.
Dazza: Most of my friends are like that. My robot friend Dazza Deux, she looks like me.

Sticky: She likes army guys?
Dazza: Well, if I recommend you - she'll be interested.
Sticky: Why not, dating a Dazza-look alike!
Dazza: I'll arrange it when we get back to Jeruselem.

AN EXCITING WIN AGAINST THE HOSTS
Good start for the Monopolists

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8691/noticia27767rc7.jpg

In the first game of the Oxen Cup, the defending champions had to face the hosts. As in the competition only the victory matters, the team had to battle for the win since the beginning of the game. The two teams seemed determinated to get the result, and Qazox started the game a bit better. Fortunately, after some changes made by the coach Fabrício Barglaux, the Monopolists could draw the game.

But the qualification only came on penalties, after eight penalties taken for each team. In the end, the midfielder Wissen took the penalty that gave the qualification for Cafundéu. But defeating the hosts is only the first step in the competition. The future hosts of the World Cup will have to face Sel Appa, the best ranked team of the competition, in the second round.

Few minutes after the referee started the game in the Champions Field, the team started to show their weapons. In the first play, Velório made an excellent pass to Niterói, who dribbled a defender and could score a goal. He shot, but the goalkeeper made an amazing save. Qazox replied with a long ranged shot, which was saved by Durepox.

The first goal happened before the middle of the round, when an attacker dribbled Alemão before shooting to score the first goal for Qazox. This was the result at the end of the first half. For the second half, Barglaux made two changes, putting Paulo and Tramontina in the places of Alemão and Kemp. The team attacked well for some minutes, but had some difficulties to finish the plays.

But the team reached the goal. Falcus crossed the ball to the area, Niterói hit it and Tramontina appeared alone inside the area to shot and score the goal. Later, Gray had the chance to score the second goal. He got a rebound inside the area, but sent the ball over the bar. The game ended. Wissen entered in the team for the extra time, so it was clear that Barglaux wanted a goal.

But Qazox surprised in the first minute. Paulo lost the ball in the midfield and they could start a fast counterattack. Luckily, Becão could tackle the opponent attacker before he could shoot. After the play, Barglaux decided to wait for the penalties, but wasn't so confident about this situation. The game ended, and it was time for the penalty kicks. Qazox started shooting.

Qazox scored the first three penalty kicks, lost the fourth and the fifth. Cafundéu started with Falcus, who missed his one. Niterói and Priotto scored, but Becão missed the fourth penalty. Velório scored the fifth for Cafundéu. Qazox scored the sixth, and Tramontina did the same. The seventh penalty was missed by both teams (Gray took it for Cafundéu). But after the eighth penalty was missed by the Qazoxian player, Wissen had no difficulties to score the last goal.

The players commemorated with Wissen and with the coach, who commented with the press: "I'm glad to see that we were able to win this challenge. It was a demanding game, and it's good to see the players performing well under pressure. Maybe we can win again the title, as we have quality to do that, I'm sure of it."

Following the spectacular victory over Sorthern Northland, the Imperial Team faced a serious crisis falling 3-0 to Kura-Pelland. Head Coach Cha Beomgeun was modest in his admissions following the match: "We clearly underestimated them. As a young team, it was a mistake to fall on our laurels, and we let them take advantage of our pride."

Seeking the first goal, the Han team started off was brilliant fire that dazzled out at the first Kura-Pelland goal in the 16th minute. The team struggled throughout the first half, falling out at the last minute to another goal. Entering the second half down two goals, the team was demoralized and apparently on edges, as in the 64th minute, Kim Jingyu received a yellow card for an excessive tackle. People in the crowd were calling for a red card, but despite the protests, he continued to play onto the field until he was excused from play by a substitution with Yi Sabik, following yet another goal by the Kura-Pelland team in the 74th minute. The rest of the match was a wait-and-see, with not even one consolation goal for the Han team.

"It was a bad game, and I hope that all of our future games are clearly better than today's performance," Cha said in closing remarks. "We have a great potential, and while I would like to think that we were the superior team out there, we weren't. They kept composure as in their first game and we overextended ourselves. Hopefully, we'll take this lesson into our next match." Next, the Imperial Team plays Ambrose-Douglas in Match C4, after falling out to Jeru FC.

Jeru FC wins again

After beating Collonie 2-1 in extra time, our team of losers won again. It's amazing what happens when Dazza Dallas coaches that team, they can't win a game in the World Cup 35 and yet they string together 2 wins in the Oxen Cup 2.

Today's opponent in the second round was unranked Ambrose-Douglas and our team put them away 2-1. This game was a better one for our team with better control skills on display although they can't be compared to the Jeruselem team still as they still make lots of errors. We spoke to the hot coach Dazza Dallas and she said it was an improved performance from the team despite usual blunders they make in the game. Shorty had good game considering how short he really is and proved to be game winner pulling of some saves at the end.

Dazza was up to her normal tricks again. She sat on the bench wearing her daughters school girl dress and it looked weird although it suits Dazza given her small stature. We wonder if that motivated them.

We play the unranked Kura-Pelland next. Kura-Pelland beat Daehanjeiguk 3-0 so they are in good form to now. Along with Sel Appa and Lovisa, Jeru FC is undefeated so far but we have not played a proper seeded team yet. Cafundeu and hosts Qazox have suffered defeats did play seeds and not unranked teams so we will be facing much better teams next.

Speaking bikes, with official Jeru FC coach for World Cup Kate Bush expecting, our own army Dallas (the other one), Rashina Dallas is expecting too. She's aged near 40 and well it was long over due.

OXEN CUP ROSTER

For their return to the international fray, the Paladins have gone with an unusually young roster, hoping that the side will mature in time for the 36th World Cup. An early win over those damn Milchaman hanger's on, Collonie, was a very encouraging sign of this side's progress, and a loss to enthusiastic newcomers Ambrose-Douglas is not overly weighed, as they show much promise and will surely be a force to reckon with in coming Cups.

Herewith, the roster. It's a traditional 2-6-2 formation.

GK #7 Antoine Douraillier - age 16 - Dorion - it is customary in the contemporary media to refer to him as the second coming of the Rock of Dorion. This paper does not share this enthusiasm as yet, comsidering his lackluster performace so far this season on Dorion's minor-league side in Nouveau St-Leonard. Still, he shows promise, and should do well enough once he gets his legs under him.

CB #30 Patrick Bell - age 18 - NM Patriotes - he's a defenseman on an NMS side, so we can't expect too much.

CB #14 Benoit Ouellet - age 18 - Brasserie Thivierge - see above. Although he does have a rather nice curling shot.

DMF #3 Joecelyn Trent - age 17 - Valdemont Rock City - supposed to serve as a safety gap and sort of sweeper in the midfield.

CMF #5 Boethius - age 21 - CF Valdemont - placed here to provide some seasoning (at least by this young side's standards) and to share some of the leadership capacity which earned him Valdy's captain's armband at the young age of 22.

CMF #41 Michael Olminster - age 16 - St. James River Valley - hopes to use a strong showing here and in the World Cup to earn himself a spot on a top-tier club instead of being enmeshed somewhere in the bowels of the Colonial Football league.

RMF #24 Yves Alldinger - age 17 - Sorel Memorial - good two-way player. Strong tackler on defense, balanced mix of sgressive and sound tactical thinking on offense.

LMF #5 Jean-André Keane - age 18 - Moncton Sands Coyotes - shaky.

AMF #66 Pete Charbonneau - age 15 - NM Patriotes - has done everything but install laser guidance system to correct powerful but woefully inaccurate shot.

CF #20 Michel Sery - age 17 - Sherbrooke Savaron Delta - widely considered to be the future of NMSFL attacking football.

The second Oxen Cup is a tournament that Sorthern Northland's president Ben O'Bagels will not be remembering with much fondly in years to come unless his nation can pull of an improbable victory to win the tournament.

In the first game against Daehnajeiguk, he was surprisingly dropped for the 78 year old Feng Shui who went on to score both goals and become a firm fans favourite. In today's game against Rugiero he was put back into the starting line up, but around the hour mark was bitten by a dog who had invaded the pitch and forced off with after fears that the dog may have rabies. He has been sent back to recover in Sorthern Northland but is a serious doubt for the upcoming Winter Olympics which he is due to take part in. The government of Sorthern Northland has written to the Government of Qazox appealing for action to be taken against the dog and it owners and is seeking an explanation as to why it was allowed onto the pitch.

The one dog pitch invasion was the only piece of excitement in the first hour of the game. Most of the game had been played in Rugiero's half but Sorthern Northland failed to break down the defensive 5-3-2 formation that their opponents were playing. From the start of the game Rugiero lacked any adventure in attack and seemed happy to wait for a penalty shoot out.

However with the introduction of Feng Shui on the hour Sorthern Northland gained a bite they had lacked so far. Their attacks from then on seemed to have more purpose and were it not for the brilliant agility of Rugiero goalkeeper Lorens Channeau they could well have let in five or six, as it was he managed almost singled handedly to keep the score down to two nil.

The first goal came after a wonderful bit of skill from Feng Shui, surrounded by three defenders the 78 year dragged the ball away from them and in a moment of magic, with the ball behind him, he lifted it up and flicked it over the heads of himself and the three defenders, before unleashing a powerful strike that curled around the keeper and put Feng on three goals for the tournament.

The second goal was again created by Feng who having swapped to the right wing took on two defenders with a wonderful bit of skill before crossing the ball into the box, with the ball just behind him striker Kim Min-Kin was quick to turn on his feet to score with an acrobatic bicycle kick, for his first goal for his country.

Following the comfortable victory over Rugiero, The Sortherners will now take on New Montreal States whose interesting 2-6-2 formation helped them to a 5-2 win over Collonie.

Update: Following the injury to Ben O'Bagels, Sorthern Northland's line up for the game against New Montreal will be as follows.

1.George Palmer
2.Graeme Shorey 5.Corneal Corneal 6.Ivar Wrigtson 3. Min Cho-Hi
7.Tom Tomsk 4.Diago Maran 8.Relondinho 11.Feng Shui
9.Neuville Senna 10.Kim Min-Kim

Team style will remain as an all out attack at +5 (Assuming it's out of 5)

TEAM FOUGHT DURING 100 MINUTES, BUT SUFFERED THE GOAL
B team had a good game, but Sel Appa could win

http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/6725/semttuloxm5.jpg

In the second round of the Oxen Cup, the team commanded by Fabrício Barglaux held another draw, but this time suffered the goal in extra time. The enemy was Sel Appa, a team with success in international football. So, the result wasn't a surprise. Now, the Monopolists must recover against Sativaville, to get a good position in the competition.

Once again, the players played well, hoping to get a chance in the National Team in the future, as the team for the next World Cup was already defined by the coach Júlio Vargas, and will be released soon. Currently, the players with best performances in this team are Niterói, Tramontina and Becão.

The game started and Cafundéu had a much more offensive strategy than Sel Appa, but the team was a bit nervous with the game and had problems in finishing well. Taking advantage of the bad passes of the Monopolists, Sel Appa could get the control of the midfield, and started to dominate the game. In the first half, few good chances happened, and the result was 0x0.

For the second half, Barglaux made changes in the team, to try to score the goal. The team improved, and had good chances with Tramontina and Wissen, but the defence of Sel Appa was great. The opponents lost their dominance of the game, but no goals were seen. So, the game went to extra time.

After ten minutes of the first half, André Luís made a wrong pass in the midfield and, in a fast counterattack, an attacker scored the goal for Sel Appa, who started to defend until the end of the game. After the game, the coach Fabrício Barlgaux commented: "Our players did well, unfortunately we didn't get the result, but they shouldn't be criticized because of this."

Coach Charles DuPont has coached the Sel Appa National Team for six straight Cups. He brought the Turtles into the international football world and delivered them to not only the 33rd World Cup Finals, but into the Round of 16. Always optimistic, DuPont strongly believes Sel Appa will soon reach the top ten teams.

GK Vasily Kashchenko is renowned throughout Sel Appa for his abilities in the net. He expects his mastery in the net to show during these qualifiers. He expects to keep the number of goals conceded in this tournament as quite low.

DF Kash Vasou is a rookie and little is known about him in major games. He was recruited because of his remarkable back-pitch abilities and ability to coordinate well with the goalkeeper. He was often said to be a second goalkeeper.

DF Bernard Apple is known for his coming "out of nowhere" and sending the ball far down the pitch with just a kick.

DF Jimmy Peech is known in Sel Appa as "The Wall" for his large size that allows him to block balls. He is a very important part of every defensive wall.

MF Jacques Latortue is well-known in Sel Appa for enabling swift connections between defense and strikers. It was once said that "the ball was heading back upfield before he even got it".

MF Colin Patette is a master midfielder and probably Sel Appa's best. He can work in almost any situation and ensures that the ball is always in front of him. He acted as captain during Estevez's suspension during WC32 and delivered a 7-2 victory over Algal States. Many see him as a possible replacement for Estevez, should he retire.

MF Arthur Mercator IV has a long football lineage going back to his great-grandfather Arthurt "Art" Mercator I. All have been excellent well-known players who have amazed many. Arthur's son, Arthur Mercator V, is also considering a professional football career.

MF Arthur Mercator V is the son of midfielder Arthur Mercator IV and the fifth in a line of Sel Appan football legends. The Mercator Dynasty continues with this new addition, who is replacing Pho Nguyen who retired. He is expected to team up with his father.

FW Alan Dubrov is one of Sel Appa's youngest players and is expected to be around for some time. He is considered one of Sel Appa's best footballers and is expected to put on a good show. He is the only player on the team to play for a foreign team: Dunboor FC of Cafendeu.

FW George Bedding is generally used as a substitute, but may see action in this tournament.

FW Miquelinho is the youngest player on the team. He is said to be very good at most shots and can score from almost any situation, like Estevez. Many call him "lil Estevez" due to his similar abililties.

FW Estevez is widely regarded as Sel Appa's best footballer and has made over 100 goals in his career. He is well-known for being able to make virtually every shot, from corner kicks to free kicks to penalty kicks. He plans to show off much of his skills and is fairly certain Sel Appa will make the Knouckout Rounds. He is the team's captain and does this job well.

FW Alex Nart is Estevez's attacking partner and the two are often seen charging down the pitch gracefully and often scoring a goal. Many regard him as a co- or vice-captain to Estevez.

Jeruselem Government News

Jeru FC march into Oxen 2 final, face Turtles

Oh my God, those losers from the World Cup 35 who managed two draws are in the final championship game of the Oxen Cup 2. They had three wins from three games after beating Kura-Pelland in a thrilling FOUR THREE win. They face the Turtles from Sel Appa who also won all their games.

It's a big task for our boys from Jeru FC, who played mainly unseeded and low ranked teams while Sel Appa played great teams like Qazox, Lovisa and Cafundeu. Still, they are in the championship game and have done the nation proud. In one of the best games of the Oxen Cup 2, Jeru FC had to fight to beat Kura-Pelland FOUR THREE and proved the team of army losers is getting better. Kura-Pelland had won it's two last games and deserved to be in the final if they had won.

While the Jeru FC defense looked shaky, the offense was much better. You could tell the team had the Dazza-touch with Jeruselem-style attack the priority and not Reji defending. Last Oxen cup, Jeru FC lost twice to eventual winners Cafundeu but now only Sel Appa are in their way. The main issue with the current team is defense as Sel Appa will have the better strike power but Jeru FC have been learning from the Bike herself, and her influence is inspiring our boys on victory so far. They maybe inspired by more obscene things like Dazza's body but it's working.

So this is a real Jeruselem vs Sel Appa game - no. The real Jeruselem always beat Sel Appa and Jeru FC have not played a real opponent like Qazox, Lovisa or Cafundeu to get to the championship game. The favourites will be Sel Appa due to their better rank and they have fielded a youngish World Cup class team while Jeru FC is a team of weirdos coached by the World Cup 34 and 35 coach Dazza Dallas. Dazza Dallas has done a great job with this team and she's leaving it in a good state in preparation for the World Cup 36. The Village Bike maybe a bit a character and even a Goddess to some, but she knows football. Well done and good luck Jeru FC.

The championship and 3rd vs 4th game will be screen live on JGN for everyone. The boys in the brown and green with their coach in pink will need your support. Will the Turtles win or will the Army men shoot them down?

Oddly the Jeru FC team don't have nickname yet. The people here at JGN like "The Gunnabes" - a parody of the "Wannabes"

http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/ambrose-douglas.pngAmbrose-Douglas || 0 - 1 || Daehanjeigukhttp://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/daehanjeiguk.png

It was one goal to send Daehanjeiguk to the final round to compete for 5th place. It was an early goal, and it was enough to settle the doubts for many in the Empire - that the team is capable of fielding an international class team. The game was clean, and it was good; what more to say?

The match began with the same set-up as disclosed earlier, and the start was slow for both sides. Cautious after their 3-0 defeat to Kura-Pelland, the Han team worked their way carefully for each possession. Despite several early leads, the Han team failed to capitalise on opportunities and both teams left the field at half scoreless. Coming into the second half, Cha Beomgeun decided to substitute in Kim Byeongji (#21), the pivotal player who helped lift victory in the 4-2 win over Sorthern Northland, and as it came out, he lived up to the expectations by making a score off a return volley by Kim Daeeui (#10). The score came at the 65th minute, with plenty of time to go. The Ambrose Douglas side applied more pressure, racking three corner kicks in five minutes, but goalkeeper Kim Yongdae was marvelous and finally managed to expel the ball from Han side, lifting a chance for Han Paeng (#22) to settle the score. However, the opposing goalkeeper blocked it, and kept the game moving to the very last minute. The whistle blew after 4 minutes of stoppage time, and the Imperial Han team filled the field with exhilaration.

Today's victory comes as the Imperial Football Team prepares for its next match against #28 ranked Cafundéu. Head Coach Cha Beomgeun commented in his postgame remarks: "It's going to be their toughest game yet. I hope that they will stand up to the pressure, but let's be honest. Don't be surprised if we lose; but cheer on still. You'll never know if they're down on their mood. We'll strive to make our chances stand out better, because if there's anymore we'll fail more, it's making the goals. We have a strong defense when we make it count, and we can move the ball; it's just that last third that needs to make it in."

Today's man of the match was voted Kim Yongdae (#1), for standing in the way of so many shots (7 recorded saves).

http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/new_montreal_states.png New Montreal States 4-3 Sorthern Northland http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/sorthern_northland.png

Sorthern Northland today failed to continue their winning streak after a close fought and exciting battle against New Montreal States.

New Montreal looked to have the game sown up after just six minutes following a quick fire hat trick from the young Michel Sery, and it's not difficult to see why he's considered the future on New Montreal's football team., the 2-6-2 formation looked to have worked wonders.

However having raced into a large lead so quickly New Montreal sat back thinking their job was done. And with the score still at 3-0 and Sorthern Northland having played the whole first half in a fashion that suggested a drunken mob, few would disagree. Even Feng Shui was having a bad game.

As the teams come out for the second it was a surprise to see that Kevin Hugh, Sorthern Northland's manager had made no changes. Perhaps he hoped the team would play a bit better in the second half. He was wrong and on 75 minutes decided to change thing round. Bringing on Kang Kan-Kang, Jay-Jay Bay-Bay and Wayland Bootle on for Kim Min-Kim, Ivar Wrightson and Relondinho. This move clearly worked as the three inspired a come-back. The first goal was slightly lucky, A low Bootle cross went around the area like a pin ball and eventually bounced in off Feng Shui's arse. The second goal was from a Kang Kan-Kang free kick twenty five metres from the goal. The Sortherners then completed the come back in the eighty ninth minute when Jay-Jay Bay-B ay on a run from his own half unleashed an unstoppable shot from all of thirty five metres. However there was a be a twist in the story when New Montreal keeper Antoine Douraillier, who strangely for a keeper was wearing number seven and clearly fancied himself as more of a winger than a keeper, ventured up for a last minute corner. Well I said ventured up, truth be told he'd decided to play as a a striker for the last ten minutes or so and having lost a three goal lead it seemed obvious who the blame lay with, but that wasn't to matter as he managed to get on the end of Yves Alldinger's out-swinging corner to score with a powerful header. It was certainly a bizarre goal but then the game had been like that.

Sorthern Northland will now play Veitau in the Thirteenth place play-off at the wonderfully named Ganja Vodka Park.

Turtles to play in Second Oxen Cup Championship

Since the team first entered international football in the 30th World Cup, they have come a long way. Ranked in the top 25 in the world, the Turtles are now in the championship match of the second edition of the Oxen Cup, sponsored by Qazox's national football team. The Turtles have done quite well in this edition and have not lost a match. Now in the final, they face Jeru FC, the premier football club in Jeruselem. The Turtles have a huge advantage, outranking their opponent by 91 spots.

This tournament is set in favor of Sel Appa, who first qualified for the World Cup 33 and even made it to the Round of 16. While they have continued to qualify for the World Cup each time since, they remain unable to get through the group stage again. Because the team keeps qualifying, they are unable to get into the Cup of Harmony, where they would likely do very well. This tournament offers a great opportunity to show the rise of Sel Appa as a truly formidable team.

Good luck to the Turtles in the Second Oxen Cup Final.

EASY WIN PUTS TEAM IN 5TH PLACE GAME
The Monopolists go to their last game

http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4328/semttuloya7.jpg

After losing the second round game to Sel Appa, the Monopolists faced Sativaville. The Sativaville players were hoping to take advantage of the fact that they were playing against the B team of Cafundéu to win the game and get revenge from the loss of the Final of last Cup of Harmony. But unfortunately for them, Cafundéu repeated the result of that game, getting the victory.

Before the end of the first minute, the first goal was scored. Tramontina made an excellent pass to Niterói, who dribbled the goalkeeper and shot to the open goal. The second goal happened three minutes later. This time, Velório crossed the ball and Priotto hit it with a header, giving no chances for the goalkeeper and scoring the second goal.

Sativaville simply couldn't attack in the first half, and defended the maximum to wait until the end of the first half. Cafundéu continued pressing, but the players missed many good chances and the result was 2x0. Barglaux made two changes in the team for the second half, which started with slow pace.

But after more than ten minutes, Sativaville put fire in the game. Sávio Ferrari made a mistake and an attacker scored a goal. Cafundéu reacted with full strength. Six minutes after, Da Silva shot from outside the area and scored a goal. Less than ten minutes after, Da Silva received the ball inside the area from Priotto and shot to score the last goal of the game.

After the game, the coach Fabrício Barglaux talked about the good game: "It's good to see that this team is performing as well as the main team. Another good thing is that my changes are being very good so far. I'm putting the players, and soon after they score goals. I've been very lucky!" Cafundéu's next game will be against Daehanjeiguk.

Before the Jeru FC vs Sel Appa game ...

Dazza:
OK team, this is it! The big game. We've won three games but we are facing a real team. A team who can win real World Cup games, not a bunch of unranked amateurs. You've learnt a lot in those wins but now - we are playing a team who have real pros. Now, this is your chance to put claim for position in the real Jeruselem team. Only a few of you will be picked if that, because I'm the coach and well there's no room in the Jeruselem team for hangers-on. OK, I want to see everyone putting in big effort. No time to think about it, DO IT. Winning is the only thing left now, we can beat a good team but only if we put in a big one. You aren't Jeruselem, but you can try. OK, everyone get out there and do the nation proud. The World Cup is far away but I'm the coach and the time is NOW to impress me.

Team: Yes coach! we will win.
Dazza: And why?
Team: Boobies!
Dazza: Right, that's alright. As long as you're all motivated. OK, if you do manage to win - I tell ya what. I'm going to something special for you but only if you win. Alright?

Team: Yes coach!
Dazza: Now get out there and win. Jeruselem has not made a final since the Women's World Cup X when we lost to Wentland, so do me proud.
Team: Yes coach!

Sticky: What's this special thing?
Dazza: Err, it involves public nudity.
Sticky: You mean hold the cup naked or something and running around.
Dazza: That's it.

Sticky: Dirty bitch, but I like it.
Dazza: It's been a while since we won any cup. Have to do something to make it worthwhile.
Sticky: Well, let's hope we win then
Dazza: But Sel Appa is a great team, we don't have a real chance. Jeru FC are not Jeruselem.

http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/veitau.png Veitau 1-4 Sorthern Northland http://spaam.mrdrake.net/flags/sorthern_northland.png

Fans from Veitau and Sorthern Northland today (half) filled Ganja Vodka Park, a brilliant stadium with a strange cloud of smoke mysteriously hanging over it. At least everyone was in a good mood there though.

Anyway onto the match, and the players came out looking slightly stoned, but then everyone in the ground did so that was no biggie. Veitau got off to a great start scoring after just three minutes, and then went on to do.... well nothing for the rest off the game.

For Sorthern Northland, who once again took a while to get started, Feng Shui was once again the engine room with just about everything of any significance in the match came from the 78 year. His first goal came after thirty five minutes after a quick one-two with Relondinho, it was left to Feng to delicately chip the ball over the onrushing keeper with his right foot.

On the other flank the young Tom Tomsk was running rings around the Veitau defenders and his performance deserved a goal. So obviously he didn't get a goal but he managed to set up the next three all for Feng Shui, following another anonymous display by Sorthern Northland's forward, Kim Mim-Kim and Neuville Senna who between them managed a miserly one goal from four games.

Anyway back to the goals, on sixty five minutes Tomsk did well to beat the Veitau right back and to whip in a delicate cross with his right foot, falling at a perfect height for Feng to volley into the net with his left foot.

The third goal came just minutes later, Tomsk and Diago Maran exchanged passes down the right before Tomsk put in a high ball for Feng to head home to complete a perfect hat trick.

The last goal came in the dying minutes of the game as Feng on the edge of the box played a one-two with Tomsk to run round the defence and collect the ball to slot past the hapless keeper.

The final whistle was blown soon after as Sourthern Northland were confirmed to have finished in thirteenth place. Although thirteenth is the official final position for The Sortherners, the FASN will be keen to put the results into a table in a bid to claim a higher position, prior to the second lot of final matches the team lie ninth using the FASN's method. Mind you using the official Oxen Cup standing's Sorthern Northland are above three ranked teams, (Veitau, Collonie, and Bushes Been Quaked) which they can be pleased with.

The FASN would like to thank their counterparts in Qazox for hosting the tournament and the people of Qazox for the warm welcome that the team received during their stay.

PK: 2 - 1

In one of the closest matches so far, the Imperial Football Team matched wits and strength against a superior Cafundéu team, only to yield in the penalty shoot-out. Despite the loss, it was certainly among the highlights of the tournament, as Daehanjeiguk managed to keep pace with the #28 ranked team. In remarks following the match, Head Coach Cha Beomgeun concluded with satisfactory marks: "We matched them equally on the field, and while we didn't come with the win, I think everyone was satisfied with the result. We gave them [Cafundéu] a reason to fight for fifth place, an inglorious place to finish, but for us, something that I think the team will cherish going into the World Cup qualifiers."

The match began rather calmly, as neither side was aiming to break the ice too quickly. The field was clean until the 15th minute, when a foul on Daehanjeiguk landed a free kick opportunity that failed to convert. The subsequent counterattack landed the first goal in the match for Cafundéu in the 18th minute. The Daehanjeiguk side retaliated with a quick burst that also failed to convert but kept the Cafundéu goalkeeper on his heels with two successive strikes from Kim Eunjung. Just as the first half was ready to close, Cafundéu stole away another goal, with a brilliant break away from mid-field. Into the second half, the Imperial team played ferociously, taking one goal from Kim Daeeui in the 49th minute. Another chance for the Imperial team materialized just three minutes later, turned back a narrow off-sides call on Kim Eunjung. In the 67th minute, Kim Byeongji came on to substitute for SEo Jeongweon, and almost made an impact, scoring off a cross from the right wing in the 71st minute. The score even, the Imperial team managed to sink one more goal, by a weary Kim Eunjung, who took advantage of a cross that laid the ball behind the Cafundéu goalkeeper in the 81st minute. For the first time leading the match, the Imperial team fought hard to keep it. Nonetheless, Cafundéu made some substitution that also improved their offensive strike. Off a free kick in the 87th minute, Cafundéu evened the score 3-3.

With the scores even at the end of regulation, the two teams went into overtime, where they continued to fight hard for victory. Daehanjeiguk rebuffed several offensive strikes into home territory but valiantly defended them all. Go Jeongun made his only appearance in the cup, substituting for Go Jongsu; but the substitution made little effect on any matter in the game. At the end, there was nothing to separate the two teams, and Kim Yongdae prepared for the most grueling task of any goalkeeper's career - the PK challenge.

With Cafundéu at home, they started the round, with Kim Yongdae successfully blocking the first shot. Yi Eulyong failed to convert his piece, leaving the PK challenge at 0-0. The next Cafundéu player converted the point, making it an uneasy 1-0 lead. Kim Daeeui failed to score after attempting to knock the ball into top right corner, instead hitting the crossbar. Nonetheless, Kim Yongdae saved the next shot, keeping the score 1-0. Go Jeongun managed to stretch the Cafundéu goalkeeper wide, but still missed by a slight tap off to the side. Kim Yongdae managed to block the next shot, and to everyone's delight, Kim Eunjung scored a neat shot down the center, as the Cafundéu goalkeeper veered to the left. The score was then even 1-1, and Kim Yongdae conceded a shot, tapping the ball, but failing to lodge it away from its path to the far left corner. With everything on the line, the Cafundéu goalkeeper neatly caught Kim Byeongji's shot, ending the game even at that point, leaving the PK round at a waveringly close 2-1 victory for Cafundéu to take home fifth place.

As the Imperial Team prepares for their inaugural qualification for World Cup 36, they look the host team and recognize that they have played one of the best teams in the world and managed to hold it even - a testament to the potential power of the Imperial team. Still, Cha Beomgeun conceded that work needed to get done: "This is a young team, and we're still not converting our goals as successfully as we could be. This match was well-deserved and I congratulate our opponents from Cafundeu for a clean match. No cards, no injuries, and all fun. I think the players enjoyed it more so than I did, and I'm not sure if that's possible in such a competitive setting. Nonetheless, this Cup sets the tone for our progress and our need to improve. Hopefully, we'll qualify into the World Cup and make our name known in the world, but that's latter. I appreciate also the massive wealth of support from the fans, who consistently appear at our matches and cheer for us, win or lose. They're a great boost of morale, and they keep us in the game. I hope to share that same support in the World Cup."

Sel Appa down brave Jeru FC, team strips Dazza in public

Jeru FC did not win the Oxen Cup 2 but they went down fighting to Sel Appa. Our army team lost 1-0 in extra time and almost won the cup despite the opponent having real World Cup players, not a bunch of weird army men. Jeru FC spent a lot of time defending as they were unable to control the Turtles.

Sel Appa deserved to win but the Jeru FC boys fought hard to keep in the game. They could not break down the Sel Appan defense and had to fight off constant attacks from the turtles. The Jeruselem man of the match "Shorty" - the Jeruselem keeper, had a fantastic game but could not stop the Sel Appan winning goal.

By the end of the game, the Jeru FC could hardly walk as the Turtles earned a cup win over our army men. However, these army men are funny characters. They had trouble walking after the game but it's the Dazza effect. Dazza Dallas, the coach who seems to do really when coaching this team - was about make a speech in public when the team grabbed the poor bike, took off her clothes and put her back. She had to make the speech just wearing a pair of shoes. And then they carried around the stadium, wearing just those shoes.

In the end, Dazza Dallas didn't really mind as the press swarmed to interview her (naked), and she wasn't fussed about standing around naked. Reminds people of Kelly Firth?

Dazza later complained "It was a bit cold out there!"

It was the triumph of youth over experience in spectacular fashion as Kura-Pelland's young reserves beat veterans Lovisa in an epic 120-minute encounter to seal third place in the Oxen Cup and spark rumours that the BoF team will effectively be consigned to history, one paper claiming over half the first WC squad will be from this Oxen Cup team.

They did it the hard way too, coming back from 2-0 and 3-1 down with two goals in the last fifteen minutes. 'You don't get that sort of thing in training camp,' one player said with pointed reference to the BoF. New unlikely hero Charles van Halen scored his second header of the tournament in the 98th minute and Kura-Pelland hung on. This, surely, is the heart of the WC36 side.

Turtles win Second Oxen Cup!

Sel Appa won the second edition of Qazox's Oxen Cup in a 1-0 defeat over Jeru FC in Extra Time. Although this tournament has no standing in the World Cup, it proves that the team is very capable and powerful. The Turtles conceded only one goal and only needed five to win. The robust Sel Appan defense kept them going in the tournament and held up well during the campionship match. Jeru FC could not get in a goal, despite several attempts. The team now looks hopeful towards the 36th World Cup.
