ANGRY SCENES AFTER ACT 11 CHANGE

Scenes of protest after Act 11 scraps age of consent.

Angry scenes erupted in Multiland today in response to the amendment to Act 11, made on the 3rd of June, which sees the end to an age of consent for people to engage in sex.

Act 11, or Legal Age Act, originally required those who participated in sexual activity to be both/all UNDER 16, or both/all OVER 16, or no more than a 4-year age gap. The act was changed to allow for a more natural approach, allowing sex at any age so long as both/all those involved had not reached puberty or both/all those involved had reached puberty - with puberty being defined as having been reached once a boy gets his first pubic hair and once a girl has her first period.

The change in the law meant that, in general, a person of, for example, 70 years of age could have full penetrative sex with a person as young as, for example, 13 years of age, so long as the 13-year-old had grown their first pubic hair or had their first period. This fact has finally led to outbursts on the streets of several major cities plus a number of countryside areas, though it is unknown why such a reaction has only just began.

On the streets of Freedon City, several Leadership vehicles were burned and Office of Safety (OS) officials as well as civilians were attacked when they tried to make arrests. In Goodness Town and Love City there were calls for Leadership officials to be attacked, and in Peace City several protestors tried to force entry into the Leader's house. Not used to having or needing any protection due to his fighting skills, the Leader was forced to call in Office of Safety officials to protect his home. There were protests in several other cities and a number of countryside areas but they were relatively peaceful, save for the angry shouts and demans that the Leader change Act 11 to its previous status or "face the consequences".

Many people, however, defended the change to Act 11. Jack Off, of Citizens United for a Better Multiland (CUBM), told Multiland National News: "I agree with the change. It makes much more sense for a law such as this to be based on actual physical changes, rather than having an arbitrary age limit. CUBM commends the Leadership."

The Leader appealed for calm and suggested an open discussion about the change to Act 11.

ACT 11 CHANGE PROVOKES ANGER

The change to Act 11, allowing sex with anyone who has reached puberty (defined by first pubic hair for a male or first period for a female) has caused angry scenes across the country.

The scenes finally erupted after growing anger about the change to Act 11 and the apparent refusal of the Leadership to listen to anyone's concerns. The protestors called for the Leader to change Act 11 back to its original status or step down as Leader of Multiland. They also called for a new Leadership, claiming that the current Leadership ignores its citizens.

Though there were a few burned vehicles and a small number of threats, the protests were mostly peaceful. One protestor, who does not want to be named, told us: "It's not the checking of puberty we're bothered about - people in Multiland often go around naked so it isn't going to harm a kid, even a prudish one, for some adult to pull his/her trousers and underwear down to check if his/her cock or pussy has any sign of puberty. What we're bothered about is that kids as young as 12, even 11 perhaps, could be able to have sex with a much older adult just because they've reached puberty when they're not metally ready. Add to that the near-impossibility of checking whether a girl has already had her first period, and you've got chaos. We want the Leadership to put the law right - back to how it was"

If the law isn't changed soon, there could be a civil war.

[OOC: Note: the Leadership is the democratic equivalent of a government, with the Leader being the democratic equivalent of a President. No words, in and of themselves, are illegal in Multiland, so words such as 'cock' are used purely as slang and do not carry the connotations that such words may carry in other countries]
