The Illemonatic Continent

Andrius rubbed his temples and sighed. It had been a long day. Already four telegrams asking him to move Toastatia into different regions, and it had barely been founded. He had politely informed them that he was expecting new, friendly nations to be founded on the Illemonatic Continent, and that he had created it for that purpose. He had invited several newly-created countries, whose leaders he knew well, to join him in the land of plenty that was the IC.

There was a knock at his office door.
"Come in!"
It was his International Affairs Advisor, looking quite pleased with herself.
"Good news, sir! Three of your predicted friendly nations have joined!"
This was exactly what he had hoped for. And so soon!
"This is excellent news, which three?"
"The Kingdom of Darthinia, The Confederacy of Free Baltic Tribes and The People's Republic of Gortonya."
Andrius smiled to himself. Three of his greatest allies, joining him on the new continent, the continent that would one day, if all went according to plan, be a utopia for humanity, to which other regions would look in jealousy, and respect would be given to all those of this great land...the Illemonati!
Free Baltic Tribes

This was his first meeting with foreign nations as the leader of the free Baltic tribes. The recently formed country just moved to the newly discovered continent in the hopes of populating it and establishing their own country, away from separatist nationalism in their former homes.
However the free tribes had to meet their neighbors first to ensure peaceful coexistence and cooperation for the benefit of the region... and the tribes.
The charismatic leader of the Confederacy, Trandradrikas, went to Toastatia personally to discuss the possible future of the Illemonatic Continent with 3 of his allies.
When the leaders finally entered the office Andrius, the leader of Toastatia, shook their hands and invited them to a brief press conference.
"The Baltic tribes shall contribute to the wealth and well-being of this region, these guys aren't as bad as I expected" thought Trandradrikas to himself.

OOC: Isn't this really just a glorified region ad?
Udo Pensez

Udo Pensez, head councillor of the Pensinian Council, had only just settled in the Illemonatic Continent, and already he was having doubts. No matter how many times the high councillor of the Faction of Discovery said that the new region was a necessary step in the kingdom's evolution, Pensez didn't quite trust him.

Beryl Sumati, high councillor of the Faction of Discovery, was, as far as Pensez was concerned, much too ambitious for his position. A certain amount of yearning was necessary for his position, but some of Sumati's decisions in the past hinged on illegality. He had even suggested making the move to the Illemonatic Continent without permission from the Faction of Economy, which, if not for his immense reputation among the public, would have gotten him demoted.

Despite the head councillor's distrust of Sumati, he couldn't help but agree with him this time. Some of the nations that the kingdom was resting with unsettled Pensez, but in the long run, all would be well.

OOC: Nope. We've password protected the region, so we don't really want to advertise it. If it sounded that way, I'm sorry. I'm not very experienced at RP.

The conference appeared to be going well. In the night, the number of nations in the IC had increased to 11. This was more than he could have hoped for. So soon into the birth of the Continent, too. The Kingdom of Udo Pensez's leader seemed a little nervous, but this was made up for by Trandradrikas having enough confidence for both of them.
"I'll have to watch him" Thought Andrius. "These dictatorial types..."
He chided himself on the thoughts. Hadn't he promised himself that he'd be trusting of all the new nations? The important thing was to work together, not be separate. He climbed up the stairs to the podium in the centre of the hall.

"Friends, this is a historic moment. In years to come the future Illemonati will look back upon their history, and this will be the moment of glory for them. A new continent, filled with new countries, and a rationale of peace, understanding and cooperation. This shall be the dawn of a truly great companionship between our nations. The dawn of a great new era, from which everyone will benefit, and our nations will support each other, to mutual benefit."
He climbed down to enthusiastic applause, and sat politely waiting for the next speaker to rise.

"The newly formed nation of Gortonya is going to be awesome," thought Rosstopher as he arrived at the podium.

"Umm... Hi!" he nervously spoke.
"I'm glad my country is part of this glorious continent. 'Cause peace is really important... and stuff."

Seeing Rosstopher's failure to deliver his speech, his advisors briskly escorted him away from the podium and continued for him.

"Peace is really important," thought Udo. "How very political of him." With a bracing sigh, he walked up to the podium to address his new neighbours.

"People of the Illemonatic Continent," said Udo uncertainly. He had thrown out the proposed speech from Sumati and was trying to turn his own thoughts into meaningful words. "The Kingdom of Udo Pensez has existed for much longer than most would think. My kingdom -- the people's kingdom -- has thrived in the hearts of many across the planet for decades. However, the ideals that define our kingdom have only recently been politicised into their current form.

"Our kingdom isn't really a kingdom, and I'm not really a king. It is named so in honour of my great grandfather (my namesake), who was a king. A just and honourable king that I hope to emulate in the form of democracy.

"I have agreed to join this continent with hope that it could assure my kingdom a place in the world. I would be most pleased if we could all get along, but that doesn't mean I will stand for injustices within my land. Respect my kingdom's laws and I will respect yours."

Udo Pensez walked back to his seat.
AEGPM

AEGPM surveyed the slowly-growing region's leaders with a mixture of bemusement and puzzlement. Why were these nations so tumultuous? Why hadn't they grasped the simple concept of efficient government by the people? He spoke up:
'Listen,' he said, 'Our small nation has quickly become a socially and politically free haven. Our economy is slowly building itself up, and our population is educated and happy. Crime is down, knowledge is up, and freedoms are nicely balanced between excessive and oppressive. Elect me as our delegate to the UN, and I'll help ensure that your countries continue in the same line of prosperity in which we now thrive.'
