World Cup of Hockey 3 Rosters/RP/Scores thread

Oliverry

"Welcome everyone to Oliverry for the third World Cup of Hockey. As the president of the Oliverrian Hockey Association, I'm pleased to be your host for the weeks the tournament shall last. Please be assured that, if any problem arises from your journey in here, the organizing committee won't be responsible.

Now, it's time to present what format will the tournament take. This tournament will begin with a group phase involving four groups of five teams each. Top 3 qualify for 2nd round. All teams will be drawn from 5 hats, so that groups are as even as possible. The second round will oppose all 2nd and 3rd placed teams. These teams will be put in 2 hats, one for 2nd placed-teams and another for 3rd-placed teams, so that teams don't play in order to avoid facing another hated team, but in order to place the best they can. In 3rd round, the winning teams will face the 1st placed teams, and a draw will be done, in the same way as in the 2nd round. Then, brackets will be fixed and no more draws will be done.

Now, let me present you the arenas used for the cup:

So now, I bid good luck to everyone!"

- William Larochelle, President of the OHA, in his opening discourse two weeks prior to the 3rd WCoH.

Now, let me clarify some things:

I'm going to use my own made scorinator for WCoH3. Quak was using an Excel version of it I made like a year ago, so many things were missing, such as a style modifier. I'm happy to tell you that they are back and will be taken into consideration for this edition. As well, don't worry, RP Bonus will be taken into account as well. In the RPed discourse upper, the letters beside the city's names are the name of the province they are in. Here's a list related to the abbreviations present in here:

CA: Capitale
NL: Nouveau-Lyon
OL: Olive
CO: Côte-Ouest
IR: Île-Royale
SL: South Limbrogidlia
EL: East Limbrogidlia

Last but not least, everything will start on Monday night, EST +4, so you have over 24 hours to post your rosters, RPs, set things up and get ready for the beginning of the cup.

Good luck to everyone!

Calcutta Roster
Manager: Luaf Rochest

Scoring Line 1
LW - Bill Clemens
Age - 1282
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 189 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - wrister
Misc - Bill prefers to dish off to his line mates than take the shot himself, and is the fastest person on the squad.

C - Michael Walker (C)
Age - 1077
Height - 6'3"
Weight - 194 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - Is the clutch playmaker on the squad, serving on the first power play and penalty kill, as well as being the second shooter when it comes to a shootout.

RW - Martin Fressis
Age - 974
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 198 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - wrister
Misc - A goal scorer born and raised, lead the EHL in goals the last three seasons. Serves on the 1st power play and is the first shooter in shootouts.

Scoring Line 2
LW- Niko Defriance
Age - 868
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 194 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - wrister
Misc - This winger is defensive minded, always dropping to the ice to block opposing shots and doing all the little things that frustrate opposing forwards. He is deceptively fast, and is on the second power play and first penalty kill.

C- Joe Tatum
Age - 1028
Height - 6'4"
Weight - 210 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - The muscle of the squad, willing to do it all for the squad, and gets alot of "dirty" goals off a rebounds and tip ins. Centers the second power play line.

RW- Sergei Osefrus
Age - 1045
Height - 6'2"
Weight - 202 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - The other pure goal scorer on the squad, second only in skill to Martin when it comes to finding ways to break keepers down. Unlike Martin though, Sergei also has an eye for setting up his teammates, that has allowed him to lead the EHL in points the last five seasons, even when he is not getting the most goals. Plays on the second power play, second penalty kill, and is the third shooter in shootouts.

Checking Line 1
LW- Jere Kapenen
Age - 767
Height - 5'9"
Weight - 176 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - backhand
Misc - A good balance of defence and offence mixed in this small forward who plays twice as big as he is. Defences hate it when he charges at them with his excellent dekeing skills.

C- Marcus Orealus
Age - 849
Height - 5'11"
Weight - 206
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - The most physical and aggressive elf on the squad, who has lead the league in penalty minutes and five minute majors the last two seasons. However, he is the best face off man the squad has.

RW- Daniel Almonte
Age - 756
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 186 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - Just a pure physical checker that gets in and fights in the corners and in front of the net.

Checking Line 2
LW- Will Marcus
Age - 822
Height - 6'0"
Weight - 221
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - wrist
Misc - A body builder in his off time, this lad is a mammoth of an elf, who will take on any body, and leave them battered and bruised after every match despite the outcome.

C- Ricky Donomian
Age - 947
Height - 6'2'
Weight - 197
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - wrist
Misc - A late bloomer in talent, who normally would center a second or third line if not for how stacked the squad is at that position. Uses his frame to the best of his abilities, while throwing in some great assists now and then.

RW- Jason Buertus
Age - 938
Height - 6'5"
Weight - 245 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot - slaps
Misc - A powerful shot that registers as the hardest show on the squad.

Defense Pair 1
LD- Omar Titenburg
Age - 765
Height - 6'1"
Weight - 187
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - The younger cousin of former national teamer and current Marauder assistant manager Dwier Titenburg. While not the scoring threat of Dwier, he has his cousins talent and then some when it comes to shutting down forwards.

RD- Martin Koula (A)
Age - 1067
Height - 5'11"
Weight - 179
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - wrist
Misc - A prolific scoring threat from the blue line, his skills and expirence have the crafty d-man being the first assistant.

Defense Pair 2
LD- Talil Reton
Age - 875
Height - 6'2"
Weight - 196 lbs
Shoots - right
Prefered Shot -slap
Misc - A late addition to the squad who just recieved citizenship in the ESF three weeks ago. On the ice, he is as solid as any other blue liner, but lacks the expierence Omar and Martin have in the EHL.

RD- Narko Lilaim (A)
Age - 1167
Height - 6'2"
Weight - 174 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - wrist
Misc - Has a wicked wrister that enables this otherwise average defencemen to take the other assistant spot, and squeak on from the third pair to the second.

Defense Pair 3
LD- Yomo Kamotomi
Age - 948
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 163 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - wrist
Misc - This agile defender has all the makings of a great player, but something is missing. Perhaps it's personailtiy, or perhaps he is still suffering from an ankle injury that killed his season in the EHL two seasons ago. Whatever it is, he slides from the seocnd pairing to the third.

RD- Damien Millar
Age - 989
Height - 5'11"
Weight - 200 lbs
Shoots - left
Prefered Shot - slap
Misc - A decent defender who does his job quietly.

Az-cz

The hockey players were pissed off. Here they were competing in their fifth hockey tournament and yet they were getting absolutely no love from the national press. Even the freaking Water Polo team recieved serious coverage when they were playing and of course football, baseball and kleptochase were all hugely popular. But the hockey team could get no love. So they decided that if they couldn't get recognition for being good they'd try to get recognition in other ways. For their first match they decided that they would field the first ever Az-cz woman in a non Az-czid international competition. Although women's hockey wasn't at all popular in Az-cz they found a couple of klepto dancers with good skating skills who were willing to make the journey for the notoriety and the free trip to Oliverry. The other thing they were doing for notoriety is playing naked. Now while nudity is no big deal in Az-cz it is on ice. Of course they were wearing helmets but mostly they were naked. It sure unnerved the Tolvarus checkers and allowed the Az-cz team to skate around quite easily and get good chances. Of course Tolvarus attacked back and played well, but only found three goals to Az-cz's four allowing the ice gnomes to earn a win on opening day.

"Ms. Ryan, My plan is working almost perfectly this time!!" Mr. Jones said as the match report from Day 1 came in.

"Your idea sir? Can you explain it to me again?" Ms. Ryan said.

"Fine, but this is the last time. Remember 8 years agao, our first foray into international hockey? The idiots that used to run QHI sent a bunch of washed-up footballers. Then 6 years ago, Cherry Cup 20, it was my idea to use Star Trek characters to play hockey, and we made it to the quarterfinals. 4 years ago, the old freaking idiots, who are no longer here, here at QHI decided to use cartoons to play hockey, and what happened? We got stomped. Then 2 years ago it was my bright idea to use the best hockey players of all time, and how did we do? We qualified for the quarterfinals again. But this time? My plan is so brilliant, it can't fail!!!" Jones replied laughing his head off.

"Sir, what is the plan?" Ms. Ryan asked again.

"Shear brillance! Using superheroes and supervillians of course. And signing them up under their real names, as to not draw attention to them? Even more brillant!!!" Jones laughed again.

"So sir how did they do?" asked Ms. Ryan.

"Here, see for your self.." said Jones, dropping the report on her desk, as he went into his office.

Aurendia
29-05-2007, 05:10
Aurendia National Ice Hockey Team: Ice Weasels

Head Coach: Player-Coach Reggie Dunlop

Captain: LW Julie Moreau

Alternate Captains: LW Bobby O’Reilly
D Kelly Starr

Starting Roster
Position Jersey # Name (Age) AHL Team

Forward Line 1
LW 8 Julie Moreau (C) (28) Southport Sharks
C 19 Keith Wille (28) Kurova Thunder
RW 7 Reggie Dunlop (34) Bluff Creek Barbarians

Wille and Moreau have alternated being AHL scoring leader over the past six seasons. Dunlop hasn’t slowed down with age, and with his experience he can exploit any situation that may develop while lending some grit and muscle to the top line.

Forward Line 2
LW 13 Bobby O’Reilly (A) (27) Etoka Bears
C 22 Amanda Esposito (26) Etoka Bears
RW 96 Melissa Jolini (25) Ossipee Lake Monsters

O’Reilly and Esposito have played together on Etoka’s top line for several years. As a result they seem to have an uncanny knowledge of each other’s location on the ice, that when combined with their passing ability, makes for a dangerous combination. When combined with Jolini’s scoring touch, this trio is just as dangerous as the first line, but brings more of a physical edge.

Forward Line 3
LW 14 Dave Swenson (28) Starksville Chiefs
C 16 Erika Swenson (26) Starksville Chiefs
RW 18 Steve Swenson (27) Starksville Chiefs

The Swenson siblings provide the Chiefs with plenty of physical skill. They also provide a scoring threat, if they haven’t been kicked out of the game yet.

Forward Line 4
LW 13 Ryan Kennel (25) Imo Vipers
C 81 Pete Sandrini (27) Zeneri Scorpions
RW 57 Jennifer Hylei (26) Nocona Comets

The fourth line combines talent (combined total of 15 All-Star appearances) with grit (1000 combined penalty minutes last season) to round out the Ice Weasels’ offense.

Defensive Pairing 1
LD 55 Kelly Starr (A) (27) Rock Ridge Coyotes
RD 4 Ray Diamond (27) Three Rivers Aurendians

Starr has the hardest shot in the AHL and routinely leads defensive players in scoring. Last season Diamond broke the record for best season +/-, previously set by him two seasons prior.

Defensive Pairing 2
LD 2 Jeff Long (28) Portland Pirates
RD 43 Samantha Durance (26) Medford Mobsters

Durance can skate backwards and still out-race any player in the AHL. Long anchors Portland’s defensive corps with his highlight-reel body-checks and aggressive physical play.

Defensive Pairing 3
LD 9 Ayla O’Brien (25) Hill Valley Highlanders
RD 11 Elizabeth Jung (25) Twin Falls Tigers

O’Brien and Jung are both fast puck-moving defenders with great passing and shooting skills. Additionally, neither will back down from a fight when challenged.

Goalies
GK1 35 Connie Gaffney (26) Sirocca Wolverines
Gaffney’s lightning-quick reflexes mean that goals against her are few and far between. She is equally effective with the glove, the blocker, the pads, or the stick; high and low; and on either side.

GK2 30 Dennis Wooderson (27) Kurova Thunder
Wooderson has amazing stick-handling and glove skill, and as a result he almost never gives up rebounds. Will look to make the most of any starting opportunities.

GK3 42 Reggie Akono (23) Southport Sharks
A skilled, solid young goaltender, but liable to let in soft goals early in the game.

OOC:
RP-wise, just don’t kill them or injure them for more than a few games.
If there are modifiers, call it a +2

Hope you do because you kinda need to get me in this tourney.

Now, I realise that I forgot to enter two teams, namely Milchama and Plutoni. That is not that much of an issue, as one team from each group hasn't played a game yet. As well, Vilita & Turori and Commerce Heights told me on IRC that they could enter teams to fill the two remaining groups. So, here's the group they'll join:

Milchama: Group D
Plutoni: Group A
Vilita & Turori: Group C
Commerce Heights: Group B

So, scores from the remaining matches will be posted later tonight (or tomorrow). MD2 scores will be delayed if scores posted tomorrow

ICly, just pretend that there was problems at the airport for these four teams and they missed their first game, that was delayed because of reasons out of their control

Everything has now been rectified and I'll now post the MD1 results for the remaining matches:

Group B:
Bazalonia 4-1 Commerce Heights

Group C:
Elves Security Forces 6-1 Vilita & Turori

Group D:
Swilatia 2-3 Milchama

From MSPN--

Our National Hockey team performed well in it's first test on the International stage since the Keto Olympics. Jean-Pierre L'avoie scored a shutout as Maineiacs beat its first opponent, Lovisa, 1-0. This was a physical, hard-hitting game, with the only goal coming from Maineiacs' C Igor Kovalev, the MVP of MHL for the third straight year, in the second period. D Tony Caparelli got the assist. The real stars of the match, though were the defence, allowing Lovisa just 12 shots on goal, while we had 27 SOG. All eyes in Maineiacs, however are turned toward our meeting with Kelssek, a rematch of the gold medal game from the last Olympics.

The first international game for the Potheads was played last night and they got crushed by Squornshelous 4-0. Nicholas Alliman did well in goal despite facing 47 shots. The only bright spot for the offense came late in the 3rd period, when Squornshelous was called for two minor penalties with about 1 minute remaning. Despite the 5-on-3 power play, no goals were scored, but the team doubled its shot on goal from 6 to 12.

"And so Pilipik gets the first Plutonian goal. Let's see how that would have looked if they were still stranded in the airport. Treefig is guarded by a Quakmybush winger-oh, the winger has fallen down because he can't ice skate on carpet. So Treefig gets the puck and passes it to Pilipik, who goes past the food court, veers around the connecting flight from the Kuiper Belt, shoots, and scores with Plutoni's first goal. Plutoni still scores, though, even though we're actually in Oliverry. 3-1 Quakmybush...

...and another goal for the Quakmybush side. Now if they'd been past the security gates, this is how it would have looked. The forward gets the pass, nice shot from the Quakmybush defense there, passes the referee...oh this could get ugly. Looks like he has the pass from his teammate, but they don't have their boarding passes! Quakmybush doesn't even have a roster at all, so the Oliverrian security agency is escorting them off the field. So Tedzilliger with a slapshot into the empty net, now it's 3-2 Plutoni and they should be able to pull ahead with no problem. But in reality, Quakmybush scores and it's 4-1."

"Sir, here's the match report for the game against ...Neptuni, Uranui... Plutoni!! Plutoni. sorry about that, sir." Ms. Ryan said into the intercom.

Mr. Jones walked out of his office and took the proffered sheet.

"Holy hot damn 5-1. And we're 2-0 so far, if this keeps up, I'll be bigger than those snotty bastards over at the QFC (Qazox Football Council)." Mr. Jones replied.

"Well, that's nice, but can the team win the whole thing?" Asked Ms. Ryan.

"I hope to hell so. At least this time, I don't have anyone to blame if they don't." Mr. Jones said leaving the report on Ms. Ryan's desk as he walked towards the bathroom. Ms. Ryan took up the report and took a look:

"Goal for Orwix! Here's how that would have looked if Qazox was at full strength. Sprunk skating across the middle, looking for an opening: cut off by Rasputin, in control of the ice. Rasputin knocks it to Creed, who shoots: off the back wall, and Tedzilliger goes back to dig it out. But Orwix actually scores on the power play, and ties it up for Plutoni...

...and Wagner puts it past Palindromi on the breakaway. Tough break, as it were, for Plutoni. Let's see how that would have gone if Quilker wasn't in the box. Wagner skating towards the Plutoni goal: oh, and he is absolutely taken out by a nasty check from Quilker. So a penalty shot from Wagner. Palindromi edgy in the crease, and: it's by him. Still 2-1 in any version of reality, and now we're nine minutes into the second period."

"Damn, Damn Damn. We blow two 2-goal leads??... Well that's good, at least we didn't lose. Good, that team could seriously throw a spike in our plan. Ok, well don't start Xavier in goal again... I don't care if he has telepathic powers or not. He's a damnned cripple. That's how they got 5 goals. Yes, I know Summers has an injured arm, I told you not to take his glasses off. Use McCoy, he's got good reflexes, he's like a monkey or something. Ok. What about the ice? It re-froze quickly? Ok, so we don't have to pay them back. Alright, win the next one and we're into the next round." Mr Jones spoke on the phone, as Ms. Ryan waited for him to finish.

"Bad news Sir?" she asked.

"Yes and no. We drew with Australonesia 5-5, but the good news is Quakmybush lost to Aurendia. And logically, if we beat Aurendia, and they beat Quakmybush, then we should be able to beat them." Mr. Jone said. "Here, type up the report and send it to the media."

From MSPN--

Our Hockey team beat their Olympic rivals, Kelssek, 5-3. Bobby Yale scored 2 goals and 1 assist, in a game that was tied until 5:09 left in the 3rd period. Yale then scored his 2nd goal, then assisted on the game-winning goal by Kirby. L'avoie held off a late game rally attempt by Kelssek.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

From MSPN--

Our team lost today, falling 4-1 to Swilatia. Our only goal came in the 1st period, on an unaasisted goal by Koivu Telmannen. L'avoie was pulled in the 3rd after giving up 2 goals within 1 minute. Backup goalie Billy Mathis was then pulled in favor of an extra attacker late in the game, which then unfortunately gave up an empty net goal to seal the game. Maineiacs is now third in Group D on goal differential, making a victories against Bostopia and Milchama in the final preliminary matches more urgent. Coach Jeff Turner said that the squad would go over drills designed to cover weaknesses shown in the game against Swilatia.

"I'm here with the national team coach, now Mr. Gilbert, what do you think needs to improve to keep winning?"

"Well, I was quite happy with how the team played today. We're still missing Neville Keanes and I think it'll be a big boost when he does arrive, hopefully after winning the Desjardins Cup, but whatever it is, we're only going to get better with a player like that. The main problem I think for us is on defence and we have to be much stronger on it. I've told the guys that they need to work on more effective forechecking to keep the pressure on the other team and not let them get comfortable out there."

"Who was your first star of the game tonight?"

"Definitely Gary Bavarillo. He worked very hard tonight all game long. It's not just the stuff which shows up on the stats sheet, even if he didn't get any points he made a big difference when he was out there."

"Uhm, he had three assists."

"Really?... Oh. That explains it."

"Any meaningless cliches to end this interview?"

"I think we need to score more goals than the other team if we want to win."

"Thank you very much, sir. Greg Gilbert, coach of Kelssek's national team. Let's go now back live to the studio..."

"So Cookesland goes ahead with that goal. Here's how that last play would have looked if the temperature of the arena had been much warmer. A Cookesland defender takes a deep breath, dives under, and knocks the puck free. Too bad they don't float. Resurfacing now, he passes to a winger who's doing a tricky little backstroke there, very nice. He shoots, and-oh, Palindromi's made some waves, so the puck's deflected past, into the shallow end. Noddle digs it out and Plutoni will try to mount another attack. Well, sports fans, that's how this would have looked in a swimming pool. But unfortunately, Cookesland takes the lead, and now it's 2-1 in their favor, here in the middle of the third period. Low-scoring game so far, and it doesn't look like it's going to change any."

"It doesn't get more wild than this! Here's how those last eight goals would have looked if Plutoni and Australonesia had been pulling their goalies and then sending them back in as the lead flip-flopped. Mool! Some Australonesian guy! Pilipik! Another Australonesian dude! Treefig! A different Australonesian! Glumpf! A-wait, that's the same guy with the first goal. But in reality, Quilker's penalized for extra attack with too many men on the ice, including a bewildered Palindromi. So Plutoni scores more goals than in their first three games combined, but still loses to an Australonesian side that doubled Plutoni's previous total in one game. This eliminates them from advancing to the next round, but there's no sign of dismay from the undefeatless players, now mobbing their many scorers."

For those wondering why they are not in despite having a greater GD than the one in, the explanation lies in the tie-breaking system used in Hockey: Wins, then Goals For, then Goal Differential. This tie-breaking system was implemented in my scorinator, so that it is realistic. Sorry for those upset, but that's sadly how it works.

So now, the First round will oppose:
Lovisa - Commerce Heights
Bazalonia - Vilita & Turori
Cookesland - Kelssek
Elves Security Forces - Australonesia

Please note that there will be another draw for the QFs between the 1st placed teams and the winners of the First round games

(IC): "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Yelled Mr. Jones, clearing out every one from the building, except for Ms. Ryan.

"What happened sir?" Ms. Ryan asked.

"The Damn legacy virus, that's what happened. It struck down the entire team, except for Clark Kent. He may be Superman, but even he can't beat an Entire hockey team by himself, especially since the game was outside and during an eclipse. The dang eclipse only lasted 20 seconds, but that was enough. Well time to start over again, pack your things, Ms. Ryan, the building will be destroyed and we'll start again." Mr. Jones replied.

No rest for the wicked
Heading straight off to the World Cup

They're fresh off a defeat in the Desjardins Cup final, but for three Wolves players there's no rest anytime soon as Neville Keanes, Stephane Lefevere and Colin Calderwood head to Oliverry to join the national team in the quest for the World Cup.

Their arrival in Oliverry will provide a boost to the Blueleafs who have been there for a week already and have racked up a record of 2 wins, 2 losses and a tie in the group stage, and are set to face Cookesland in the playoff round.

Keanes will take up the captain's C from temporary captain Severin Jeanne, who will swap for an A, while Calderwood will be the second alternate as Daniel McKellon and Josh Mulroney give up theirs. This leadership merry-go-round, although long planned since Keanes and Calderwood have long been the chieftains of the national team, is emblematic of the messy way that Hockey Kelssek has been forced to approach the World Cup thanks to the players' commitments to their employers.

And fans are already grumbling that the delays, stalling and procrastination by KHL teams over releasing players for the World Cup has handicapped the team. While few doubt that these professionals will get up to speed quickly, nevertheless the Blueleafs haven't had much time to play together. Those from teams which didn't make the playoffs had the benefit of a full training camp, but by and large the team has come together in drips as teams were eliminated from the playoffs, resulting in a chaotic coaching situation.

The result is that a distinct lack of chemistry can be seen and this has left many fans are shaking their heads as the contemplate chances for success. And they're all too happy to blame the KHL management.

"We aren't going to win because the KHL are sabotaging the national team", one fan told this reporter, reflecting the typical opinion in the sports bars on Federation Park West.

However, with Kelssek coming off a horrific loss to Swilatia which saw them shut out 4-0, it's hoped that the new arrivals will spark a much-needed momentum shift that could power them to the next round.

"No need for counterfactuals: the score displayed is real! Plutoni has won its first ever game, 3-2! A beaming Tedzilliger has hijacked the Zamboni, and the Plutonians are piling on for a victory lap. Mool, Glumpf, and Sprunk all scored, one in each period, with Moreau and Esposito scoring for the Weasels. And with Palindromi finally clambering on, the triumphant ride for the Plutonians can begin. From Capitale, Oliverry, this is your Super-Junc broadcaster signing off."

Another draw, this time with Bazalonia 2-2. The Potheads got goals form Tripp and Stroble, but couldn't fend of the Bazalonian attack late in the 2nd period. All-in-all a decent showing, as the team didn't earn the wooden spoon (that went to: Tolvarus who went 0-5-0.) We didn't get a win, but two draws, expecially against a good team and a close loss to a good team bodes well for the future of Sativaville Hockey.

The Az-cz team was royally ticked off. They had posted the best record in the group stage with four wins and a draw and had earned a bye straight to the quarterfinals. And yet there were barely any mentions of the tournament in the Az-cz scroll. Yet the freaking football team who was playing in qualifiers against a bunch of teams ranked much lower than them was in the scroll and had TV programs and all sorts of stuff. So the team decided that they had to do something even more outlandish to get some attention back home. So they sent this letter to the Quakmybush delegation:

To the nation of Quakmybush,

We the national hockey team of Az-cz would like to apply for dual citizenship in Quakmybush. We appreciate Quakmybush's love for all things wintery and we are sick and tired of being ignored. If accepted we would play under the banner of Qu-ak, as established in WC33. We don't want to fully renounce our homeland, just partner with another great nation who actually shares our love for hockey. We hope to hear from you soon.

To Coach Kronen,

The letter you have sent our team has truly touched us. You are right, football teams do get to much attention. It's not as bad here in Quakmybush due to the cold weather, but still. As for your proposition, it will be perfect, you can still represent Az-Cz as a country, something like a dual citizenship. But, you would be considered a Quakmybush citizen, and you'll get press here in Quakmybush.

Sincerly

Coach Kronen was sitting in his hotel room in Oliverry. Of course the afterglow of his semifinal win over Bazalonia was pleasing. But much more than that was the appreciation of the Quakmybushians for his squad. They had recieved notification that their request for dual citizenship in Quakmybush had been accepted. Kronen had already contacted his agent to look for a house in Quakmybush and try to find a coaching position there, whether as a head coach or an assistant. He was reading The Daily Quak's nice coverage of his team's 2-0 victory over Bazalonia. It had detailed reports on the team's accepting dual citizenship and the tactics behind the match and analysis of how they were able to smother the Bazalopes attack. Then he opened the Mil-Bax monitor. In it he saw long articles discussing both the Western Afghanistan hub-bub, the Commerce Heights stir up, and of course the fine performance of the team up to this point. For hockey there was just a small mention of the match, little more than a box score. To which he thought to himself "Screw them. I'll enjoy our match with our fellow Quakmybushians greatly."

Milchama Man Handled

The Quakmybush National Hockey team defeated Milchama in the semi finals of the third World Cup of Hockey by the score of 6-1. The bigger story though, is the Az-czian hockey team applying for dual citizenship in Quakmybush. The nation has accepted this proposal and will let the Az-cz team use the flag the colours, and any hockey training area in Quakmybush. The best part of this is that the two teams will face each other in the finals of the third World Cup of Hockey. This is the perfect result for the monumental agreement.
