#10, Ricky Yunn F ©
The Stalwart of the team, despite being captain and a forward is very aware of what is happening all over the field and has a strong knolwedge of his other teammates and what they can do. Ricky and Thomas are brothers, though there is a strong rivalry between the two, The reason both of them have made it onto the squad. Though off field they are the closest of brothers.
#53, Frederick Hampstead F
A talented forward, having breathed soccer since he was young, has not scored too many goals himslef but is always in the right place in the right time to make sure that any forward attacking move by the team has the best chance of success. Though he is still looking for and is hungry for his first international goal.
#24, Everrett Kang F
The last of the starting forwards, His incredible accuracy is his main weapon it is the subject of much heated debate which forward is best, generally each excels in a critical area and a combined and sustained attack by all of them would test even the strongest of defense. However, they are quite well balanced by the defense and midfield.
#9, Thomas Yunn, M
Not to be over shadowed by his slightly older brother Thomas has excellent control of the ball and can place it very accurately over long distances, this has even resulted in a few goals for Thomas, who is the left winger.
#32, Quentin Assington M
The centre and master tactition, him and the captain Ricky Yunn control the game, or attempt to anyway. His timing is perfect and has been known to get rid of the ball just before a legal tackle and draw a foul. However Quentin is also a bit of diver though never does it once he gets a yellow.
#27, David Myfanwy M
The only welsh speaking player in Bazalonia David has made a name for himself for his passion for the game. However he can get a bit uptight and can confront referees for even the hint of a bad decision. However as the right winger he just seems to be in the right place at the right time.
#28, Arianna Georsophalous D
One of the 2 women defenders in the team Arianna get's annoyed at the concept of a purely female world cup. If there was a male only world cup then they be different but the world cup is for the best soccer players in the nation. And she has earned her right to be here and will not let anyone else get in the way of her playing her defensive game.
#37, Henry Fjord D
You can never really be sure what this guy will do in any particular occasion usually causing confusion, even then you can't be sure whether he'll take the ball himself, pass it on to another player or just get in the other players way.
#20, Zieta Swift D
The second of the woman in the team, more sedate than her fellow female defender, Zieta does her job and does it well.
#31, Xia Chia D
Oriental appearance, he seemingly works well together with the females in the team managing to set up complex 3-part defensive maneuvers. Xia was once in the Bazalonian military and always had a flare for defense. both on the field but also on the soccer pitch which he was in the Bazalonian Army Soccer team that beat navy in the Armed forces games.
#1, Joshua Kanga K
Younger Brother of Paul Kanga, a previous substitute goal keeper for the Bazalopes Joshua had proven himself during the AOCAF tournaments as a great goalkeeper.
Substitutes:
#4, Lou Richards F
#16, Stephan Smith F
#42, Zaphod Prefect M
#48, Harold Bishop M
#45, Ali LeRock D
#19, Poest Markus D
#7, Daniel McKade D
#2, Ferdinand Esther K
#3, Trent Thistlethorpe K
You can do anything apart from doing anything that you want to at whim except for anything that would impact more than one matchday. Though please contact me, You'll most likely get a green light if I know about it before hand.

Cameron Miller F - A Scientist Footballer, when he is not at home fiddling and creating inventions, he is on the soccer field. Sometimes he melds the two and has been known to occasionally fit performance enhancing devices under his clothing.
Jacob Hunt F - Likes to go naked everywhere... especially on field. He only wears precisely what he has to obey local nudity laws. Of course in all home games he'll naked on the pitch.
Jaden Jackson F - Has a weird fascination with animals, particularily eating them.
Matthew Wright F - Is slightly psychotic though under his meds he is an effective footballer, though once he is off his meds he can act well, like a demon.
Aidan Stewart M© - The more sane sensible one of the group and the captain, has a great football mind but dosn't have the international experience to back it up yet.
Kyle Rogers M - Kyle, is actually the Bastard son of the great lion. Though at the moment no one knows it. Well someone does, but not Kyle.
Xavier Carter M - A gun nut, who collects them. He likes to get guns from all around the world. Though while he likes guns he never brings them with him overseas.
Ryan Mitchell D - Does on the occasion get violent on or off field.
Brandon Cooper D - A close friend of this guy was killed at the whim of the Great Lion. Brandon Cooper hates the Great Lion with a passion and would like to see everything related to him wiped off the face of the planet
Robert Murphy D - Robert is a person that seems out of the place in the team, he certainly seems friendly, respectful and not one to make waves.
John Edwards K - John... what is there to say about him. Not much at all

Manager
Iñaki Soler (Vilita)
Age: 42
One of the greatest Vilita talents ever, and with the respect the ESC has for Vilita and the AO regions footy level, he was the favorite on their short list to replace Revtron. After a brilliant undefeated qualifying session, the squad stumbled abit in the group stage. However, taking the knockouts seriously, the squad was able to pull two upsets before losing in the semifinal to Milchama. However, with the threat of being fired, Soler inspired the squad to tip over the SLANI federation's side of Commerce Heights and won third. The EFA has deemed a repeat trip to the Semifinals is the goal, or else a new coach will be found next tounament.
Assistant Manager
Dwier Titenburg
Age: 1298
After a great career in both domestic and international play, the ESC decided to approach the elf for the job of assistant manager. After weighing his options, he gladly accepted in helping improve his countries favorite sport. With the speculations about why Revtron had a pyschotic break and what he thins of the new manager, he and his families quiet lifestyle has been interupted by the media. The drain can sometimes be seen on his face, but the players swear he is doing the same great work in preparing game plans.
Goalie
0 Martin St. Louis, Raynor City Rockers
Age: 1326
Sex - M
St. Louis is quite strange. He is not tall like most keeps, and he likes to roam around the box far more than average goalies. However for all is reckless and unorthodox play, he is clutch when it comes down to pressure situations. With his brother starting to peak, Martin might find himself out of the starting elven soon.
Defenders
5 Mathias Nickel, Hartdale Hawks
Age - 800
Sex -M
Has been the anchor for the imprentable defence of Hartdale for nearly a decade now, and has been granted the oppurtunity to show his skills for stifiling strikers on the starting eleven. Given the starting job in the last tournament, Nickel matured and rose to the challange of his new manager. With Metria now as a partner, the backline has both the talent and chemsitry to stall any attack.
12 D Wori Metria, Hartdale Hawks
Age - 927
Sex - F
The little lady plays a very aggressive style of defence, constantly harrasing her mark from the first whistle until the last. Her main weakness is her aggressiveness that can sometimes tire her out towards the ends of the halves. Apart from the stamina issues, she is as solid as each of her backline partners, and works well with Nickel, having played domestically together for seven years.
43 Gabriel Florez, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1136
Sex - F
Has worked her way from the very bottom, being a walk on player at Hondo, to the Premiership and national team. She has the can do attitude that has enabled contention the last few tournaments and her expierence of climbing the ranks has toughened her into a well respected member of the locker room.
Midfield
10 Marsha Stone, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age - 1155
Sex - F
She is the midfield general and everyone on the team respects her play and personality as the best on the team. Quick feet and thinking are just some of her great gifts. Having to play forward with her club in Assegai, Marsha has taken her offence prowess in the domestic level and applied it to her national level, which has her still holding on to the starting spot. Had to overcome a nasty ankle injury several years back, but it has since panned out that her play is better than it was before the injury, some thinking that the rest rejuvenated her.
22 Rick Cuellar, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age: 1061
Sex - M
Rick is the playmaker in the midfield, with the uncanny ability to see plays developing before they happen. This leads to many assists for the maestro in the middle, and also the thanks of his strikers. Now that Revtron has been replaced and the Great Leader returned to his post, his hopes of making the forward spot are improving, with now only the matter of convincing Soler to allow him the oppurtunity.
14 MF Justinian Constant, Mar Sara Flames (C)
Age: 1133
Sex - M
Constant lives up to his name, with constant and steady play. He's the jack of all trades in the midfield, able to do everything well, but nothing great. However, his easy going attitude along with his dominant play has not only seen him go back to the starting job, but also handed the captains armband by Soler. Having proved last tournament he was up for that challange, he leads his squad with an air of confidence this session.
34 Jere Jannian, Raynor City Rockers
Age - 1051
Sex - M
One of the best wingers to every set foot on a pitch in the ESF. This lad is masterful at crossing and putting in perfect through ball or lobs. His skill has lead to numerous individual awards in the EPL, including five time winning of Winger of the Year award, as well as leading the league in assist eleven out of his sixteen seasons on the top flight. In addition, he has an easy to get along with personality, that makes him one of the best teammates, the one everyone wants to room with. He was finnaly given his due when Soler came in and proved his place was well deserved, putting in nearly an assist a game.
4 MF Laborious Hawk, Timorlug Wargs (Turruth Gordur)
Age - 637
Sex -M
The crafty elf is a beast of an attacking midfielder. His stands at 6'5" and is gifted with amazing technique and footwork for even footballers not his size. Add in addition to his highly accurate shot and ability to find seems in the defence, he is the hardest assignment for the oppisition of the Marauders with Kyla taking the Cup off.
Forwards
21 AF Nikali Rikard, Hartdale Hawks
Age - 1037
Sex - M
Has been on the national team since their first entrance in World Cup 29, but has not cracked the starting line up due to the bigger names and talents. Not becoming discouraged, he has used the time he has been given on the pitch and playing behind the greats to develop his game. Unlike Kiso, who can score a multitude styles of goals, Rikard is best on the volley and break aways. Though his skill his great, this lack of good ariel game can cost the team if they are needing goals late in competition.
9 Kiso Night, Rinaldi Gunners
Age 24
Sex - M
Son of legendary captain Zacharius, and the scoring mistress of Kyla Night, the prodigal son proved why the future of the ESF is very bright. He has the scoring prowess, the foot speed, control over the ball, balance, and intelegance for the game that makes him a dreaded assignment. His only flaw is trying to outshine his parents reputation, which leads to him taking a few too many shots when a pass to another player would of been the better play.

Team Tynelia
3-2-3-2 formation. (-2) modifier
Coach- Jay Masterson- age 54. Tynelia’s all time leading WC scorer with 36 goals in group play and one more in the cup itself, returns for a third go around as the WC coach. After back to back qualification Masterson feels that just qualifying isn’t enough now. “I want to get to the knockouts this time.” He was recently quoted. With many returning players this time he hopes this will become a reality.
Formation
…………T.Conroy……………………. C. MacDougal
D.MacDougal.……………….Masterson Jr……………Cadeon
………………Patiman………………………Linderton
Baxinworth…………..M.MacDougal……………………Marshall………
……………………..Martin…………………………….
G- Sean MacDougal (30-reserve) Last Cup’s starting keeper was beaten out this time by last Cup’s backup Mandy Martin. However three time WC keeper is expected to play more than a normal backup would given his experience at this level.
G- Mandy Martin (24- starter) After a perfect season in league play Martin surprised a few people by winning the starter’s job over the veteran MacDougal. After seeing little action in her Cup debut, she seeks to follow in the footsteps of “Amazing” Amy Whiteworth, the player who inspired Martin to become a keeper and is in fact on pace to break some of Whiteworth’s career marks if she can maintain this level of play.
F- Connor MacDougal- (34- starter) The eldest of the MacDougal clan, Connor continued the family tradition of high scoring and attacking the net in what he says is his final Cup. Knocking on the door of the Tynelian all time record, Connor is now only nine goals behind Coach Masterson’s all time mark and second on the all time ranks, Connor hopes to break that mark this time around.
F- Duncan MacDougal (32-starter) Duncan continues to be overshadowed by his older brother but is still a solid offensive player. One of only a handful of Tynelians with double digit goal totals in his World cup career, Duncan is a reliable third or fourth option on the attack to help keep the defenses honest.
F- Tina Conroy (27- starter)- Conroy, tied with the retiring Mia Thompson for the all time women’s scoring mark has been bumped up to the striker’s role from the start this time after her move in the latter stages of WC34 led to a team scoring increase after she was moved up. Conroy has also been quoted as saying she wants to be the top scorer period this Cup. She still holds strong at #2 in the list of “Tynelia’s sexiest athletes” as she stays in the top three for the fourth straight year.
F- Jay Masterson Jr. (24- starter) Coach Masterson oldest son returns for his second Cup. Despite his bloodline Masterson Jr. only managed a single goal last time around. Having developed into more of a playmaker than shooter he has been shifted over to the center forward spot to get things moving, taking over Mia Thompson’s role there. However he does seem to have his father’s knack at penalty kicks, leading the league in them the last two seasons.
F- Lance Cadeon (30-starter) To his relief Cadeon inherits Mia Thompson’s spot in the starting line up. A place some critics claimed he should have been in last time around. Cadeon has been silent once again about any lingering resentment and is expected to be edged up as a third striker if the team needs a goal late.
F/M- Jennifer Elba (27- reserve) A versatile player, Elba returns to her second Cup but still finds herself on the bench behind the returning starters. Another playmaker, she is still versatile enough to play at both forward and midfielder with a solid +9 goal differential last season.
F- Lyle Burke (19-reserve) The youngest player on the squad and rookie of the year last season, Burke is not expected to get much playing time despite his excellent work as a ballhandler. Some have questioned the inclusion of two non scoring threats as the reserves at forward but Masterson feels this will help the team out more.
M- Samuel Linderton (28- starter) “Slidin’ Sammy” as he is known makes his debut here in his third season of play. Known as a mudder for his willingness to slide and sacrifice his body to break up a play, Linderton led the league in steals by a wide margin for the third time in four years and won defensive player of the year voting despite being a midfielder, a first in Tynelian soccer history.
M- Brad Patiman (26- starter) Another defensive minded midfielder, Patiman and Linderton seem to be starting to balance off the overly attacking nature of the forwards to prevent opposing breakaways. Patiman had another excellent season and was his team’s MVP this season.
M- Jeff James (20- reserve) A former rookie of the year two seasons ago, James is different from the typical midfielder in that he actually likes going on the attack. So much so he’s joking counted as a half of a forward by some of his teammates in the league. Many feel forward is where he will eventually end up in time but for now his speed works best as a midfielder.
M/D- Tara Hirst (21-reserve) A stay at home midfielder she has above average passing skills and is the swiftest person on the team with the exceptions of James and Conroy. May be put in late in games to help hold a lead but isn’t expected to see much serious action otherwise.
D- Jacob Marshall (36-starter) The veteran Marshall is the oldest member of the team and in what he has said is his final cup. Losing a step due to his age he has ceded the center of the defense to Meggie MacDougal and her younger legs. Still, he is a threat having an almost mystical instinct to see what the attacker has in mind almost before the attacker does.
D- Meggie MacDougal (21- starter) The next in line of the seemingly infinite number of MacDougals in Tynelian sports, Meggie is actually the daughter of Alan MacDougal and thus the cousin of the three brothers. Now the heir to the Stossels defensive crown, Meggie was defensive player of the year two years ago and narrow lost to Linderton this year. At 5’0” she’s the runt of the team and was declared the team mascot by her older cousins. The bubbly redhead is also the team practical joker with her cousins seemingly often the butt of her pranks in what she claims to be purely a coincidence.
D- Greg Baxinworth (25-starter) The only real surprise of the team, Baxinworth is the only newcomer to the World Cup that has jumped right into a starting spot in the lineup. Now in his fourth year, Baxinworth has had some people compare him to a young John Stossels and impressed enough during tryouts to land a starter’s role.
D/G- Gary Greene (29-reserve) Greene is a strong defender with a solid +10 goal differential rating again this season. Still labeled as the emergency keeper, Greene is expected to give Marshall plenty of time off late in matches which may be why Coach Masterson ahs kept him out of the starting lineup again.

Stadiums-
Presidential Coliseum- seats 60,000 in the capital of Tyr, an older but constantly renovated arena, it is the largest soccer stadium in the country. All the biggest matches in Tynelian soccer history have been played here. Tyr is the largest city in the country and boasts two professional soccer teams, two baseball teams and a football team. Some call Tyr the sports capital of the country. Just don’t get in the middle of an argument between Tyr Hippo and Tyr Ferret soccer fans. Don’t expect much in the way of religious services, as befits the mostly atheist country, no churches or temples can be found in the city limits, though some may be found in the suburbs.
Sun Stadia- seats 45,000 in the coastal city of Varrik, Tynelia’s tourist hub known for its beaches and crystal clear waters and the local touch of the myriad of small family shops and restaurants that dot the beachfront. For those looking to burn some money the Varrik casino is always looking for more income…er people to enjoy its ambiance. It too has its own baseball, soccer and football teams but you’ll find no heated rivalries here as most folk are too busy working on their tans to fight about sports.
Ice Bowl- seats 25,000 in the northern city of Damak in the foothills of the Tynelian Peaks, the highest mountains in the country. However unlike the other two venues you won’t hear people fighting over soccer. No, Damak is in fact the Tynelian curling capital home of at least 30 leagues and home of the Tynelian Winter Olympic committee. Skiing both downhill and cross country are popular here as well as speed skating. Bring a sweater as its cool even in the summertime here. The football Tyr Penquins are the lone professional team to be found in this city as efforts to increase soccer’s popularity here are moving at a shall we say…glacial pace.
Az-cz roster, to be used during World Cup 34 qualifiers
Federation name: Az-Cz football Federation
Team Nicknames: Gnomes, Adventurers, Robbers, Pinkos
Team Colors: Pink and Green
Roster:
Coaches:
Zax-Im
Former captain of the Az-cz team, leading them to a Baptism of Fire championship and their first ever world cup finals. Is a master motivator and a master of tactical defensive midfield, he will share his knowledge with his former teammates. He has experience as a head coach leading the Az-cz side in AOCAF19 and as an assistant on the senior squad.
Bub-Rub: Bub-Rub was another player who took part in the Baptism of Fire champion squad and was on the side that made the first Az-cz trip to the world cup proper. He is in his second cup as coach of the strikers and attacking midfielders for this squad.
Hubertino: Is back to being partnered with Zax-Im. While they used to be the leaders of the team in defensive midfield now they are both coaches for the national squad, with Hubertino becoming an assistant immediately after he retired last cup. Like Zax-Im was before he's charged a lot with the development of young players.
Players:
While the squad remained unchanged from world cup 33 to 34 there has been big turnover in the lead up to world cup 35.
Forwards:
#9 - EE-Or
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 153 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
With Stanleyinho having retired Ee-Or is now on top of the pile of Az-czid strikers. With some impressive goals in the AOCAF and a continuing developing form he has surpassed his mate at his club. Has a great finishing touch and should add a lot of energy to the side. However he has lost some confidence and failed to earn a starting spot with Zax-Im attempting an experimental formation.
#19 - Fe-Do
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 139 lbs
Age: 22
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Fe-Do was EE-Or's attack partner on the most recent AOCAF side. He looks to slide into his club teammate Bub-Rub's old spot as an absolute speedster with pinpoint finishing skills. A fine showing in his second AOCAF should propel him further into the attack for this cup. With the retirement of both Stanleyinho and Uz-Gz ahead of him Fe-Do is now the second most experienced striker despite his young age. If EE-Or has struggles he could become the top striker on the squad.
#15 - El-Iot
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 127 lbs
Age: 17
Club Team: Winterkill Ghosts
El-Iot made his mark with a good performance off the subs bench in AOCAF19 and passed a number of older players for the third striker spot on the Az-cz team. He is still quite young and small but he has excellent speed and great touch. Big things are envisioned for his future.
Midfield:
#10 - Pizelkaxrovsky
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 170 lbs
Age: 33
Club Team: Burlock Jesters
Upon meeting Pizelkaxrovsky many people assume that he is not an ethnic Az-czzer. Many things about him are unorthodox, to be sure, but he is an Az-czzer through and through. Coming from a family that eschewed social conventions he has an interesting perspective on things. His name, far from Az-czid standards and without the almost entirely prevalent hyphen, is just one way in which he shows this oddness. He is also the most free wheeling and joking member of the Az-cz squad. He is the perfect face of a team called the Jesters. Usually this is an advantage but of the Az-Cz players he is the one most likely to do something outrageous in a game and get sent off. He has been ejected from games for things such as delay of games after excessive celebrations or sexual harassment of a Yang Knights fan in the middle of a game the Jesters were losing in the Shangri-la Cup. As for his play on the pitch Pizelkaxrovsky is a master creator. His vision is supreme in the -League and he led the league in assists despite playing with two rather average strikers on the Jesters. More so than even Bub-Rub he has honed his extra senses and never seems to make a wrong decision. He is also the freekick taker for the team and has a dazzling ability to place the ball where it needs to go. He was the Golden Ball winner for best player in the Baptism of Fire and advanced to the finals of the Legend Free Kick competition during WCxXx. He is far and away the most talented Az-czzer and rivals the abilities of any player anywhere. In general, as he goes, so goes the team.
#7 - Kn-Dg
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 27
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Kn-dg is the only player on the team or in -League who challenge Pizelkaxrovsky for total skill. He mostly plays on the wing using his speed to flash down the side to set up plays for the other players. He is the main corner taker for the team and is also the best goal scorer on the team from his spot in attacking midfield. He showed his amazing ability by finding an incredible nine goals in his five games last finals.
#16 - James Levesque
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 210 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Kn-Dg's strike partner and the son of former coach Roger Levesque, James Levesque is a brilliant attacking player. He also has good size which can cause considerable problems for the players around. That attacking pair is setting the -League on fire and look to do the same in the world cup. Amazingly this is the fourth world cup together and Az-cz fans expect Levesque and Kn-Dg to light up the goals in a major way.
#13 - Jorge Shockey
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 190 lbs
Age: 21
Club Team: Yang Knights
Jorge Shockey is now charged with guiding the team from the critical defensive midfield position. Shockey provides a more physical package and a sharp mind as well as developing skills. He will be asked to provide leadership and skill to go along with his youth and energy now that Hubertino and Lo-Ro have retired. He also provides Az-cz with a lot of size from their midfield, something not that common for them. Thankfully with both Zax-Im and Hubertino on the coaching staff he'll have great coaching. His move to the Yang Knights, the team of both of his coaches proves that he has become the top defensive midfielder in the land.
#11 - Ip-Gp
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 27
Club Team: Darzog Mages
Ip-Gp is once again pairing with Pizelkaxrovsky in central midfield and will really help deversify the attack. They teamed together beautifully last cup and look to discover the magic again. He is also the best penalty taker on the team. With five cups of experience he is truly coming into his own as one of the stars of this team.
#12 - Ho-Lee Chung
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 165 lbs
Age: 25
Club Team: Golem Golems
Ho-Lee Chung made an impressive showing during the AOCAF 19 and used that as a spring board to both a transfer to the strong Golem Golems side and to the last spot on the Az-cz bench for World Cup 34. Now with an extra attacking midfielder being added he'll join the starting lineup, playing almost as a striker. Like Shockey he benefitted from the larger midfield as one defender spot was transferred to the midfield. While he can cause plenty of havoc for an opposing defense his defense is still not great, though it has improved greatly since last cup. He can even play more forward as a striker if necessary.
#8 - Hmr-Pn
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 145 lbs
Age: 25
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Hmr-Pn has regained his starting position with the expanded seven man midfield. He will be positioned in a sort of attacking defensive midfielder position and his versatility will be greatly utilized. He will be expected to play a big role this cup and fill many different needs for the team. He is the player who has the most to prove from this cup with so much being asked of him in Zax-Im's unorthodox formation.
#18 - Hu-35
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 23
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Hu-35 is back for his fourth cup. He's turned into an attacking midfielder but is still more than capable of representing any position in the midfield. His versatility also means that he will see plenty of play as a replacement for possibly any of the seven midfielders.
#14 - Anthony Byrd
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 245 lbs
Age: 20
Club Team: Pagoda Ninjas
Byrd is a bruising punishing midfielder. He really likes to get involved and dirty deep in the box and is totally unbothered by physical play. He lacks the technical experise that most Az-czzers have but his insatiable motor and physical size help him compensate for those lacks.
#17 - Bn-Ct
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 144 lbs
Age: 15
Club Team: Asp Vipers
Bn-Ct is the son of former Az-cz national team player Bn-Dg. Like his father Bn-Ct is an attacking midfielder. His father was a good player but Bn-Ct looks to be an even greater player. He is the only player on the squad without any international experience, but he has been around the international game since the age of five, when the Gnomes went to the Baptism of Fire, so he is comfortable with the big names and knows many of the players on the squad. He is definitely looking to learn a lot this cup.
#20 - Ab-Sol
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 166 lbs
Age: 22
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Although he was originally a pure defender he has since developed into a defensive midfielder and is a very strong defensive presence in the midfield, although not the all around player that Jorge Shockey is. In terms of raw ability he might be the least talented player on the team, but he is a great worker and has an indominable spirit. If he needs to play he'll do a good job and what he adds to the practice pitch and locker room is also quite valuable.
Defenders:
#3 - Mario Nerazzurri
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 225 lbs
Age: 33
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Nerazzuri is now alone amongst the old guard of Az-cz defenders and one of the few remaining players period from the Bapitsm of Fire champs. He will be vital to the teams chances of success as both the key defender and captain of the squad. He has truly become a great captain and will be looking to go out strong as he has just a couple of cups left in him. Arial attacks are basically doomed to failure against him and he has a good ability to sniff out other attacks as well. With his increased experience he is an absolute star in defense. He will hold down the central position in the three man defense, having progressed from a wingback in his early days to the true king of the defenders.
#2 - Haji-Me
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195 lbs
Age: 25
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Haji-Me is huge as Gnome players go. He also has a huge role as he is now in his third cup as a defensive starter and must help Nerazzuri turn away the goals. Although he likes to get into the attack he has truly improved his abilities as a pure defender. He will be the main defender to sneak forward in Zax-Im's 90 minutes of chaos philosophy.
#4 - Ca-Fu
Height: 5'8
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 20
Club Team: Golem Golems
Ca-Fu has flown up the ladder from suprise selection to substitute to starter. He is looking as if he might go down as the greatest Az-cz defender ever if he can continue his current ascension. His defensive instincts are incredible and he uses his physical abilities well even though he isn't the biggest defender going. He also has a great instinct for starting counter attacks and makes great passes.
#5 - Kz-Kz
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 144 lbs
Age: 30
Club Team: Burlock Jesters
Kz-Kz has come along way from his first selection to the Az-cz side for the Baptism of Fire. Back then he was just a hot headed kid who relied on his physical skills to make plays. Although he still uses his physicality he has really improved mentally and now has both technique and perception to go with it. He no longer gives up ticky tack fouls and will help control the line. Although he has been passed by Ca-Fu for the third starting spot he is still the top defender substitute.
#6 - Du-Tre
Height: 5'7
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Du-Tre was part of the youth movement at Yak Clerics who look to become the dominant team in the -League. Du-Tre is a blazing fast defender who makes plays that can spring the attack quite well. He tends to gamble to make things happen but can be provide a huge spark from the back line when he makes good plays. Although defensive subs see less action than offensive ones, he still ought to have a decent role for this squad.
#21 - La-Yu
Height: 5'3
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 24
Club Team: Cloud Harpies
La-Yu is an up and coming defender. He hasn't developed as much as was hoped, but he is still a strong defender who won't ruin the Az-cz side if he is forced into action. He won't see much action but he will definitely make the attacking players work hard during practices.
Goalies:
#1 - Gn-Lg
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 34
Club Team: Yang Knights
Gn-Lg is the tallest ethnic Az-czzer on the team. Using his height and his keen senses Gn-Lg has already risen to the top of the league. Since taking over as the number one goalkeeper for the Yang Knights he has pushed them back to the top of the league. He is incredibly unflappable and has a good sense on penalties. His PK save against Green Wombat that all but assured the Gnomes their first trip to a world cup finals. He gives his entire team a sense of comfort that even if they make up theres still a good chance they'll be able to withstand the attack. Absolutely unflappable almost every team in the world hopes for a goalkeeper like Gn-Lg.
#22 - Fr-Tld
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 36
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Fr-Tld is the second Az-Czid keeper. He is a very good keeper and should Gn-Lg miss a game for some reason Fr-Tld will be there to step in for him. Has played in enough matches and been around on enough teams to be considered a very strong second choice keeper. Az-cz fans shouldn't worry if there is a need to play Fr-Tld.
#23 - Bu-Lv
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 32
Bu-Lv is the former understudy for Gn-Lg at Yang Knights. He is a solid young keeper who looks to improve greatly now that he has his own team to lead, and an improving one at that, in Yak Clerics. He is the youngest of the goalkeepers. He expects to be third keeper for a while as both Gn-Lg and Fr-Tld should remain with the team for many years.
Formations:
The standard formation for the Az-Cz national team is 3-7-0. The idea behind the team is 90 minutes of chaos. They intend to use their speed and stamina to wear other teams down and then pick them apart. With the excpetion of Nerazzurri all the team will be involved in getting into the attack and the team is in constant motion. The starters are Kn-Dg and Levesque playing very attacking midfielders on the wing with Ho-Lee Chung between them, Pizelkaxrovsky and Ip-Gp in somewhat attacking positions of control in the middle. Jorge Shockey is positioned in defensive midfield and Hmr-Pn is sort of a roving midfielder who could end up basically anywhere on the pitch. Ca-Fu and Haji-Me are the wing backs who often drift into the offense to increase the havoc and Nerazzurri patrols the middle of the defense. The team will also use the 3-6-1, 3-5-2 and 4-5-1 formations favored by past Az-cz teams.
Representation from the -League Professional teams:
1. Yang Knights (2/2)
2. Red Dwarf Rangers (2/4)
3. Vertigo Slimes (0/3)
4. Golem Golems (2/2)

As far as stadium details go all of the stadiums that will be used in this cup are the same as were used in World Cup 33. Az-cz is a nation of thieving peace loving generous socialists. It is a sort of Utopian place where few people where clothes except as necessary for work or weather.

The Third generation makes it's stand
After Milchama's most successful World Cup campaign to date and the glorious second generation of Milchamian football getting a lot of glory coach Damian Hill decided to scrap the whole team and start the third generation saying, "In World Cup 29 we played the first generation one to many times and didn't qualify and it's not going to happen again." Shockingly he made sense, anyway here is the roster:
Gk: GK: Halutz Dalton- Big kid. Known for stopping shot based on his frame alone. His actual goalkeeping abilities have been questioned but he did win the starting job. So that should put them to rest, for a while anyway. Somehow chosen over the Fletchers.
D: Steve Emter- A late comer to the scene, Emter played great for the Mongolian Horsies in getting them to regional competition and is now ready to be a member of the national team.
D: Daig Mitchell- Hard tackling central defender who was known among his peers for his excess of cards. However this has been curbed considerably he still has a bit of temper. We hope he can keep it under control. Got the sub job to help himself with the temper.
D: Kent Rolt- The most famous member of the squad for his two behind the halfway line goals in one game. Can score from anywhere on the field and can also tackle well, the complete package.
M: Nicholai Marchakov- Athletic fast and good ball control. Looks like a younger Darian Flinters and much more like the first generation of Milchamian wings unlike Lonnen and Manin. Suprisingly got included in the squad.
M: Kenny Rintell- Johnny's son. An absolutely wonderful central midfielder who is probably better than his father. Will play on the Milchamian team for a long time. Is actually only 14 right now.
M: Kev Kelton- Great ballhandling skill and good pace plus nice crossing ability. Unfortunately very volatile and makes poor decisions but his natural is incredible, we assure you.
F: Kevin Flossmore- Very speedy and has now become a decent crosser. Will be looked to control Kelton to make sure he doesn't go crazy and kill somebody.
F: Tal Flar- Tall and good in the air. Flar's goal scoring ability will be key to the team advancing. His tall frame has helped club team FC Doom get on the verge of IAFL qualification.
F: Avi Belmowitz- (Godmod) Lans seems to have some special plan for him as he is the least proven player on the squad. However, his talent seems amazing but he will be closely watched to see how he does.
F:Mike E. Forent- This generations middle initialed player. Became a winger after the center strikers places were closed, expect him to come roaming inside a lot.
Substitutes:
Gk: Fletcher James- The first of the Fletcher's to get a first team shot internatinoally wants to prove how good he and they can be.
F: Tilar Flitty- Did great for the B team and now comes up to the A for the first time as the first sub. Is expected to make Joseph look better and win games off the bench like Bantin and Joseph before him.
Horse: Rovers Return- The starter for the past two AOCAFs comes to the first team. He will be ridden by Keffer if he ever comes on.
F: Catch Esrimdo- While his name might be a paradox. His play isn't, his crosses are definitely below quality but his speed is near unmatched. Part of Lans' work to improve the speed on the team.
D: Kendry Wilkirk- A little larger than the average defensive wing but he has matured quite quickly and looks great at it. Can also play centerback and his movement has been considered key to the success of this team.
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

RP injuries to my players Y (nothing major)
Godmod injuries to my players Y
Hand out Yellow cards to my players Y (within some limits)
Hand out Red cards to my players Y (No more than 2)

Style +3 or +2 depending on the capacities of the scorinator.

Bettia World Cup 35 Squad
Style Modifier
We don't do defence - we trash defence.
In typically gung-ho fashion, Bettia will be playing with as positive a style modifier as possible (+3), utilising a highly attacking 2-5-3 / 2-3-5 formation.
Roleplaying
If RPing first, the FAB give our opponents permission
to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like.
Nickname: The Aroras
First Kit: Green and gold quartered shirts, green shorts
Second Kit: Blue and white quartered shirts, blue shorts (this kit is always worn against any teams playing in predominantly red strips)
National Stadium: Tiddles Park, Gabalfa (capacity 102,000 - approx 50,000 seated)All of Bettia's matches will be played at their largest stadium. Designed by reknowned architect Kenzo Violin, Tiddles Park is instantly recognisable by its prominent roof structure. Originally designed as a 81000-capacity all-seater stadium, the FAB took the decision to remove the lower tier of seats in favour of good old-fashioned terracing. The result... an unbelievably loud atmosphere that can intimidate all but the most hardy of opponents. Formerly known as Stadiwm Bettia, the stadium was renamed of Bettia's long-time arora mascot Tiddles, who was tragically killed by an invading army of giant ants.
A few facts about Bettia:
Bettians are well-known for their politeness and friendliness, a fact backed up by many 'reliable' UN reports.
Bettia is a mainly muslim country, so any fans looking to have an away-day piss-up will be very disappointed. Our local tea and scones are very popular though, as are the famous Butetown meat pies which are widely available from many outlets around the stadium.
Bettia is reknowned for its natural beauty and glorious tropical weather, so any visiting fans wanting to make a vacation of their match are more than welcome. Favourite holiday destinations include the south coast (with its many pristine beaches and clear blue waters) and the Banastra Rainforest.
Bettians are legendary for their dislike of all things red due to its association with all things evil - hell, Satan, fire, anger, rage etc. Visiting teams who normally wear red as part of their national strip are kindly requested not to do so. However, we do have a defence against this - the patented Azurlens™ blue-tinted sunglasses which made their debut at World Cup 33 to great effect, which help to nullify their opponents redness.
Bettians love football so much that giant screens are now a permanent fixture in many cities and towns.
Details of our national anthem, map, currency and many other interesting and not-so-interesting facts can be found at the Bettia Wiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Bettia)
Manager:
Amir BettisonAnother of Bettia's heroes of their early days, Bettison has stepped into the gap left by his former team-mate Stuart Abdul-Rahim after the World Cup winning manager's well-earned retirement. Despite being a goalkeeper, he has pledged to retain the all-out attack that has made the Aroras into a feared team.
Goalkeepers:
1. Chris Swift - Fortuna Bettialis, age 20, 0 capsThe phrase 'jumping in at the deep end' certainly seems to apply here. This lanky 6'5" keeper has incredible agility, a fact not lost on the former-goalkeeper managing the team who has gone on record stating that he sees a great deal of potential in this young shot-stopper.
2. Alatas - Persubarnas, age 19, 0 capsAnother young prospect who has found himself thrust into the first team ahead of more experienced players. It is likely that the starting goalkeepers place will be alteranted, giving both youngsters a chance at first.
Defence:
3. Said bin Said Ismail - Butetown Dragons, age 26, 46 capsA mainstay of the WC33 squad who more than cemented his place with many solid performances. Just like his fater, he has also shown a definate talent with long throws, proving instrumental in setting up some swift and deadly counter-attacks
4. Hisham Azmi - Sukatra Tigers, age 28, 28 capsAfter many sparkling performances for his club, Hisham Azmi made the step up to senior international football during the previous World Cup where, although he was mainly used as a substitute, he gained valuable experiance at the highest level. A versatile player who can also play in midfield, or even in goal if needed.
5. Mark Silversmith - Akani Sands, age 26, 19 capsA versitile utility player who made his debut during AOCAF 19, Silversmith has quickly gained a good reputation for his vision and accurate tackling.
Midfield:
6. Ariel Haynes - Butetown Dragons, age 26, 20 caps, 3 goals (captain)
The former captain of Bettia's under-21s is now promoted to the skipper of the senior squad. Haynes showed he has what it takes to boss the midfield, with his charging runs setting up many goals for the strikers.
7. Frank Myfanwy - Fiilghud Town, age 28, 30 caps
This committed, firey character is a strong central midfield figure who one of Bettia's unsung heroes in World Cup 34. Another player who can launch long throws.
8. Evan Anderson - Fortuna Bettialis, age 25, 8 capsA cornerstone of the resurgent Fortuna Bettialis team, Anderson seems to be the epitome of the old sporting cliché "An old head on a young pair of shoulders". A flambouyant playmaker with great vision and awareness.
9. Ari Suparputra - Tamrida, age 19, 0 capsA young debutant who has carved out a reputation as a ball-winner. His crunching tackles are usually on-target, although he has seen plenty of cards in his time.
Wingers:
10. Adi Bandasera - Perumnasih, age 26, 49 caps, 2 goals
One of the revelations of the Bettian football in recent years, his ruthless and relentless style suits the Bettian Takilan game perfectly.
11. Jon Deverill - Butetown Dragons, age 27, 30 caps
A flying winger who has been instrumental in Butetown Dragons' domination of the league. His immense speed and skill make him the perfect foil for the central strikers, and he's not afriad to take a pop at goal himself.
12. Muhammad Taylor - Gabalfa Rovers, age 23, 0 capsAn attacking midfielder who can also fill in at centre-midfield, Taylor is one of his club's main corner takers. He's capable of beating his man and getting in a good cross.
Forwards:
13. Peri Busilanta - Perumnasih, age 27, 44 caps, 35 goals
14. Andi Busilanta - Perumnasih, age 27, 45 caps, 29 goals
15. Budi Busilanta - Perumnasih, age 27, 43 caps, 30 goals
Unanimously regarded as THE shining lights of Bettian football, the Busilanta brothers are in fact identical triplets. The special, almost psychic bond these brothers share makes them especially dangerous, sometimes tearing defences apart to dramatic effect. It's fair to say they'll be in amoungst the goals again during this tournament.
16. Evan Miranda - Akani Sands, age 21, 17 caps, 10 goals
Another in the long line of youngsters who have shot through the ranks, Miranda made his debut at the tender age of 15 during AOCAF 19 where he more than aquitted himself well despite one or two dodgy team performances. Like the other new boys, he's found it it tough to get the break he needs given the dominance of the Busilanta brothers, but when the chances came, he took them emphatically by claiming seven goals in World Cup 34, mostly from the subs' bench.
17. Don Johnstone - Fortuna Bettialis, age 21, 0 capsThe leading scorer for the Lucky Stars, Johnstone has become a feared striker, often popping up form his preferred position just behind the other two strikers to poach a goal here and there, although he also has a fearocious shot on him. Definately one to watch in the future.
18. Abel Abramson - Butetown Dragons, age 27, 14 caps, 8 goals
An exciting talent to emerge from the Butetown squad, Abramson can be quite exhilerating to watch at times (unless you're a defender). A more than Abel, sorry, able replacement for any of the other first-teamers, a fact proved by his seven goals in World Cup 34.
Probable starting eleven shown in GREEN

Schiavonia

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/SFFsmall.png
SFF announce squad for WC35
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Rodney Lowe [Age 79]
After seven campaigns as the Sloths' team manager, Lowe is now Chief of the SFF after the death of Harvey Alfredo.
Tony Tarmey [Age 57]
Overtaken by Colin Chester as Schiavonia's all-time top scorer, Tarmey is only Schiavonia's second ever manager, taking over from Lowe after being his assistant after World Cup 31. However, seems inept when it comes to games against top sides on the big stage.
GOALKEEPERS
1. Chris Howard (Kingsbury Monarchs [31] WC 31 (for Socialist Romanistan), WC32-)
The most experienced goalkeeper in Schiavonia, in international terms at least, Howard will be looking forward to another busy time in this attack-minded team.
2. Jimmy Fearley (Melston Rovers [28] WC34-)
3. Jim Brenton (Threlo Rovers [26] WC34-)
Schiavonia's two back up keepers. Probably won't get many games in front of the ever-consistent Howard.
DEFENDERS
centre backs (cb)
11. Niall O'Henry (Threlo Rovers [22] WC34-)
Gained experience last cup, but is kept out of the side by Cueto this cup due to the latter's overseas experience. A very able replacement, though.
12. Hugh Brain (Melston Rovers [21] WC35-)
Hugh is one of the most inappropriately named players in football, given that he is incredibly stupid.
13. Matthew Tilda (Welkay Lakeside [27] WC33-)
"Waltzing" has gained experience over the last two cups, playing alongside a lot of much older players. Now he takes over the mantle as the experienced one, and looks good enough to do so.
14. Carlos Cueto (Atlético Jutense (Cafundéu) [25] WC34-)
Carlos' move to Cafundéu has brought a new element into his game that gives him more than the average Schiavone centre back has. His partnership with Tilda will be interesting to watch.
left backs (lb)
15. David Jones (Kingsbury Monarchs [26 (captain)] WC34-)
David Jones has burst onto the Schiavone football scene from relative obscurity. An inspirational figure who drives the team on, although a relationship with Isla Blige seems to be putting him off his game slightly. Can also play as midfield distributor.
18. Mike O'Connor (Threlo Rovers [32] WC32-)
Came into the squad as an understudy to Ed Fielding, but never pushed on to the next level. Now back up to new captain Jones.
right backs (rb)
16. Andy Bell (Kingsbury Monarchs [31] WC32-)
The battle for a place at right-back has been a very interesting one for a while, now. Both Bell and Bird have what it takes, but team selection in this position will be on a game by game basis.
19. Billy Bird (Social Club de Sedgefield [35] WC32-)
Billy is quick going forward, but possibly suspect defensively, something that will give Bell his opportunity.
MIDFIELDERS
ball winners (mb)
22. Richie Winston (Welkay Lakeside [20] WC35-)
Richie is the type of player who won't give up, and will challenge for a football all dqay long if you let him. Perfect for this role in the team, then.
23. Ben Kerr (Spacewill Rockets [32] WC32-)
ALan Tiss is gone, but Ben still has to work for his place in the team. Age is against him, and this will definately be his final chance.
distributors (md)
21. Paul Moston (Charles City [35] WC32-)
The midfield distributor is very consistent, if unspectacular, in his job. Not a big star name, but then he doesn't need to be.
24. Johnny Adams (Cartfield Athletic [26] WC34-)
Last cup, it seemed like young Johnny here was just being taken along for the ride, with Moston and possibly even Jones ahead of him, but with Moston ageing and Jones cementing hte left-back berth, now is his chance to really push on.
creators (mc)
25. Isla Blige (Kingsbury Monarchs [28] WC32-)
Isla is the younger sister of Shiela Blige, and is seen as the next big thing in Schiavone football. Quite possibly the most naturally gifted player in the world. If you know what we mean...
26. Graham O'Connor (Threlo Rovers [24] WC34-)
The younger cousin of left-back Mike O'Connor, Graham will find himself behind Isla Blige for the time being. Not that most men would complain about that.
FORWARDS
runners (fr)
35. Shiela Blige (Kingsbury Monarchs [33] WC32-)
The first female player to appear on a Schiavone roster. She's a crafty little runner, standing at just four feet nine in height. Has amazing ball control, though not as quick as most running forwards in Schiavonia. Can run through the legs of Hogan.
36. Frank Lewis (Kingsbury Rocks [26] WC34-)
A more traditional Schiavone forward runner, Lewis is the quickest player in the SchiavOne league. Offers something different to Shiela Blige.
strengths (fs)
32. Juan Yates (Social Club de Sedgefield [35] WC32-)
Yates is a bulky forward, and will deputise in the strong forward position. Possibly has some of weight in the wrong areas, but will hopefully put that right before he gets too old. (We're being nice, but he is what many would term as "a fat bloke".)
34. James Hogan (Welkay Lakeside [26] WC34-)
Nicknamed "The Hulk", young James is quite possibly the most powerful strength forward that Schiavonia has ever seen. Standing at over two meters in height and seemingly solid muscle, it will take some stopping this fella. If only he could shoot...
finishers (ff)
31. Jerry Berry (Welkay Lakeside [30] WC32-)
The second time the son of a former Sloths midfielder has been picked for the squad, Eric Berry's son has done better than Kenny Sanderson Jr. Not that that was difficult. A finisher in the Colin Chester and Tony Tarmey mould, and definitely ready to step into the breach. With Chester out the way, this is his one and only chance to show the world what he can do.
33. Horatio Konstantopolous (Social Club de Sedgefield [19] WC35-)
Young Horatio has taken Colin Chester's place at club level. Will his potential eventually let him take his international place, too?
Retiring from the squad are...
Noel Fielding (CB, Charles City [35] WC30-34)
Alan Tiss (MB, Welkay Lakeside [37] WC31-34)
Colin Chester (Social Club de Sedgefield [39] WC30-34)
Just three retirements this time, but it could be argued that it is the core of the team for the last four cups that is going. Defender Fielding was one of the most consistant defenders Schiavonia have ever had. For a nation that isn't one for defending, Schiavonia's record with him at the back has been outstanding. Then again, he was helped in no small part by Alan Tiss, a midfield ball winner who could line up anywhere in the Schiavone midfield three, as indeed he has done.
Then there's the main man. Colin Chester, Schiavonia's all time record scorer, who has set a record that will be kept for some time to come. He tells us he'd stay on if his legs would let him, but unfortunately they won't any more. Some say he was past it by the World Cup 34 finals, but as a national hero, we'll more than likely forgive him for that.
Our first choice line-up is as follows...
1. Howard
19. Bird 13. Tilda 14. Cueto 15. Jones
or 16. Bell
25. I.Blige 22. Winston 21. Moston
31. Berry 34. Hogan 35. S.Blige
However, there are three alternative formations that are sometimes used. One is the traditional 4-4-2...
1. Howard
19. Bird 13. Tilda 14. Cueto 15. Jones
or 16. Bell
25. I.Blige 22. Winston 21. Moston 35. S.Blige
31. Berry 34. Hogan
...another, a less traditional variation on the same formation, a 2-4-2-2...
1. Howard
14. Cueto 13. Tilda
19. Bird 22. Winston 23. Kerr 15. Jones
or 16. Bell
21. Moston 25. I.Blige
31. Berry 34. Hogan
...and finally, 3-5-2.
1. Howard
14. Cueto 13. Tilda 11. O'Henry
35. S.Blige 25. I.Blige 22. Winston 21. Moston 15. Jones
31. Berry 34. Hogan
The SFF made themselves some dashing kits for World Cup 31, and we doubt they'll be changing any time soon. Mainly because they're so happy with them.

A GUIDE TO SCHIAVONE PLAYING POSITIONS
Schiavone football teams generally play in a 4-3-3 formation, but the different positions are not always referred to in normal terms. The Goalkeeper (GK) and centre-backs (CB) are as normal, but the rest are not so clear cut.
The left-back (LB) and right-back (RB) are very important in attacking, and generally one attacks down the wing while the other one comes in and covers as a centre back.
Ball winner (MB) is a midfield position that does exactly what you think. They sit in midfield to protect the defence and win the ball back for the team.
A distributor (MD) is a player with very good passing skills, and can switch play or unlock a defence with one pass, but can keep it simple if the situation requires it.
The creator (MC) is a player who runs at defenders with the ball before either shooting or, more often, laying it off for someone else to have an effort on goal. They are good at attracting defenders and so making space for team mates.
The runner (FR) is a player who can run away from defenders and make chances for themselves with this advantage. Not many slow players can play this role, although Shiela Blige is an example of one.
The strength (FS) is what most people would call the big man up front.
Finally, the finisher (FF) is a player who has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time to stick the ball into the goal with an uncanny regularity.
So there you have it. A guide to the Schiavone style of playing football. Hope that was helpful.
My opponent, if they RP first, can do whatever the hell they like. As long as it is in the Schiavone nature (as shown in the "Who We Are" link in the signature below), and doesn't involve severely harming or stealing one of the major players.
Games in Schiavonia will take place at the King Francesco Stadium, which has recently been revamped to hold 76,800 people (up from 68,000.)
If you want to interview a Schiavone, feel free. Responses might be a bit slow, though. Just don't interview David Jones.
Style modifier is +2.
Final note: The Non-RPing N00b, puppet of Schiavonia, is free to RP what the bloody hell you like about it. Inconsistancies in stories are openly encouraged. If you want.
Jariss squad
Style -5 (or whatever max defense is)
Lineup 5-4-1
After a grueling open tryout under Coach Maru Hiniru’s eye, with nearly 30 people coming out and trying to qualify, the first ever Jariss international team was announced.
Coach- Maru Hiniru age 56 Coach of the Jariss Spiders High School soccer team and so the most experienced soccer person on the isle. Very conservative in nature and playstyle. However he managed to adapt well to the new playstyle of the rest of the world and was named All Star Coach of the Baptism of Fire.
G- Tali Vindu age 18 (starter) Captain of the Spiders and according to Hiniru she’s the best keeper he’s ever coached. In the BoF she allowed 0.8 goals per match with two shutouts including one over heavily favored Western Afghanistan
G- Aru Treni age 24 (reserve) part time member of the police and fire department he is the keeper for their squad and the only other decent keeper on the isle. He hada tough BoF giving up 6 goals in two starts.
F- Minna Dawo age 20 (starter) The Jariss Spiders all time record holder in goals scored with 10 in her four years, Minna was clearly the choice to start for the team here. Minna was far and away the leading scorer for Jariss in the BoF with two hat tricks and 14 of the team’s 18 goals. It came as a shock to many she failed to make the BoF All Star squad.
F- Konu Zaryi age 28 (reserve) Holder of the old scoring record with 8 before Minna broke it has taken time off from his father’s fishing boat to join the team. Graduated from Bigtopia University with a degree in marine biology.
M- Leni Banama age 35 (starter) The best player in Jariss soccer history according to most Leni was a force on both offense and defense making him a perfect midfielder. He was tied with Andre Miware with two goals in the BoF for second highest total on the team and made the BoF All Star Team
M- Tranae Vyrroi age 21 (starter) Showed up at the tryouts despite being on the rugby team in high school and somehow made the team. She has the legs to keep up on the field but her actual skill is a bit shaky at times.
M- Joa Giranu age 18 (starter) part of the Spiders squad. Good ballhandler and passer, he will keep things steady in the middle.
M- Andre Miware age 30 (starter) this tour guide discovered he hadn’t forgotten everything he knew from his days with the Spiders and made the team. He surprised a few people tying Leni Banama with 2 goals in the BoF for second on the team.
M- Gia Banama age 26 (reserve) wife of Leni Banama, she earned her own way onto the team even if some feel she’s there to keep an eye on her husband’s roving eye.
D- Kalo Yannia age 31 (starter) a good defender back in his days as a Spider though some feel a leg injury a couple years back has cost him a step.
D- Fya Panai age 18 (starter) the best defender on the Spiders she was a clear choice to make the team when Jariss was announced to enter the WC for the first time. A bit unfocused in the BoF, Coach Maru hopes she will be better prepared for the WC.
D- Goru Lyani age 19 (starter) This Spider graduate was bored working at his father’s farm and jumped at the chance to go see the world in the Cup. Goru was also named as the Jariss player to accept the Errinunderan offer to spend a year at the Ellery Camp in Errinundera. Also named to the BoF All Star team
D- Larri Weque age 34 (starter) Another returning star who hadn’t kicked a soccer ball in four years, this former two time best defender of the Spiders managed to recall enough of his game to make the team after the tryouts.
D- Datu Kippo age 26 (starter) This lifeguard was a bit of a surprise starter after skipping high school to surf for four years. Somehow he impressed Hiniru at the tryouts and made the team.
D- Relao Yashi age 18 (reserve) The last member of the current team still in high school, but coach Maru thought it would be a good experience or him.

http://www.thirdgeek.com/ns/worldcup/graphics/flags/33/UCS13/ Unified Capitalizt States
The Unified Capitalizt States, sometimes referred to as Commerce Heights, is a very large, very rich nation consisting of an area in Atlantian Oceania and of the entire planet Sirius D, the former Aquillan homeworld. It has no laws, other than a general prohibition on harming another person or their property except as permitted by contract. Many future-tech things are used in the UCS, including teleporters, spaceships, and extremely tall buildings, though most such technologies are too expensive for the general population.
There are two organizations based in the UCS that compete in the World Cup. The first, and better-known, is called Capitalizt SLANI, which has been around since World Cup 25 (and inherited the record of the CHFF, which goes all the way back to World Cup 7). Prior to World Cup 30, it competed under the name Commerce Heights, and is still listed as such in official results. The other is known as 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn), and is often referred to as Jasīʼyūn or JSY. It is officially identified by the World Cup Committee as Commerce Heights JSY, but there is no separate nation with that name, and the Aeropag Tribune reporters like to mock people who think that there is. It has competed since World Cup 30, and has had little success in qualifying.
Due to the non-existence of citizenship in the UCS, both teams reserve the right to call up players residing outside the UCS, and frequently did so before the recent unification of Paripana.
Stadia
Both teams tour the many large stadia in the Unified Capitalizt States for their home games. Though they each officially have a “home stadium,” this is only used to mean that the other team may not use that stadium for its home games.
Sokojito Überdome
Location: 소코지토 도시, 소코지토 (Sokojito Dosi, Sokojito)
Capacity: 400 552
Built for the infamous “CHO:P” World Cup 26 bid, the Sokojito Überdome is the largest known stadium in Atlantian Oceania. To allow for its massive capacity, teleportation devices are used to get spectators into their seats, which are inaccessible by other means. Aside from the final of World Cup 26, the Überdome has hosted several matches between Capitalizt SLANI and Krytenia, which have earned the stadium a reputation for very high-scoring games.
Esther Marchese Memorial Stadium
Location: Sonoma City, Bedistan
Capacity: 271 828 (under construction)
Esther Marchese Memorial Stadium is the most ambitious of the CHEAT Alliance’s (parent company of Capitalizt SLANI) stadium construction projects in the former East Bedistan. It will, when completed, be the second-largest stadium in the Unified Capitalizt States. Though it does not meet the same high standards as Capitalizm or Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium, it would still be a top-tier venue by most nations’s standards.
Capitalizm
Location: 유포, 소코지토 (ʼYupo, Sokojito—note the apostrophe)
Capacity: 161 803
Capitalizm, named after the economic system that has brought great wealth to the people of the Unified Capitalizt States, was constructed at great expense for the CHFF’s World Cup 16 bid with Melmond, and was also once the national stadium. Though it is traditional in design and does not require teleporters like the Überdome, it does utilize a number of other sophisticated technologies to enhance the fans’ experience.
Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium
Location: Querzakhi, Tarraconesis
Capacity: 157 080
Drakcorp Querzakhi Olympic Stadium was built by the Spaamanian corporation Drakcorp for the Capitalizt club, Querzakhi United, that it purchased. It hosted the ceremonies and many of the events for the Games of the II Olympiad. Though the stadium has been around for about forty years, it was extensively renovated for the Olympics, and is much like a new stadium. It has some of the same advanced features as Capitalizm, and additionally has the ability to replace the pitch instantaneously by teleporting replacement pitches that are stored underground.
JPL Paladin Stadium (자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) home stadium)
Location: Port Lusambo, Jativa
Capacity: 128 400
JPL (Jativa Power and Light) Paladin Stadium is a relatively new venue, built for the once-dominant Port Lusambo Paladins of the 자스연 리그 (Jasīʼyūn Ligī). Though many supporters have since switched their loyalty to the SLANI League’s KQ Qidádire Putemo, the Paladins still draw a decent crowd, and more should come to see 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) in action. An article in the Aeropag Tribune about the RP bonus machine installed there has earned it the nickname “the Randome.”
Auswärtssieg Arena
Location: Natestadt, Lontorika
Capacity: 127 202
Given the limited success and fan base of the local team, the Natestadt Nationalisten, the club successfully lobbied the owners for it to be given the name Auswärtssieg Arena, meaning “arena of away wins.” Although Capitalizt SLANI has not encountered many away wins there, the name has stuck. It is of fairly advanced construction, but does not quite match Capitalizm in the technology used. Still, it is regarded by many as the best sports venue in the UCS.
Aeropag Olympic Stadium
Location: Aeropag, Jativa
Capacity: 107 596
Aeropag Olympic Stadium was originally named the Orange–Green Bowl—a reference to the original football team that played there, the Aeropag Hurricanes. As its current name suggests, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the I Olympic Winter Games in Aeropag. It is a fairly average stadium, not using particularly extravagant technologies nor having a significant local fan base that attends games played there, but is well-maintained.
Stádie Síntaüilire’da
Location: Otário, Tingitana
Capacity: 100 000 (under construction)
Due to a startling lapse of creativity, and a surprising lack of sponsors, CHEAT simply decided to name this stadium after its capacity. Little is known about it at this time.
Anaphase Alchemy Stadium (Capitalizt SLANI home stadium)
Location: Sonoma Center, New Manhattan
Capacity: 81 067
Home of the Sonoma Center Panthers, one of the greatest clubs in Capitalizt football, Anaphase Alchemy Stadium attracts a broad local supporter base, making it very difficult or very expensive to find tickets. The stadium is well-known for an active streak of over five hundred consecutive sold-out Panthers games, which has made the management somewhat hesitant to significantly expand.

Legendary striker and current Capitalizt SLANI manager Alejandro Bolúfero has made no major changes to the squad since the Querzakhi Olympics and World Cup 34 (the retirement of captain Saturio Luguëo notwithstanding). The team will continue to play its traditional all-out attack strategy and 3–3–4 formation.

FAWA announces Western Afghanistan squad for World Cup qualifying
MANAGER
Khuhekhezal Muhammad
A longtime striker for Nine Columns, the most popular team in the country, Muhammad is a celebrity figure in Western Afghanistan. He also has extensive experience as a manager, having been the top man at club side Ghavvasa for three years, before his appointment as national team head. Most football fans in Western Afghanistan are strongly behind Muhammad, but some football media pundits have criticized him for his recent shenanigans at the Baptism of Fire (Baptism of Frost) in Errinundera. Indeed, he still has two matches to serve on the suspension he received for 'breaking the laws of a host nation' (he was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage after tossing cider in the eyes of several Non RPing n00b players' eyes, severely injuring them). Muhammad will have to prove during World Cup qualifying that he is worth what the FAWA is paying him.
GOALKEEPERS
1. Khilen Fahifa (Age: 27) (Club: Mardom Yek) <Captain>
A seasoned veteran, Fahifa has held the honour of national team captain for over seven years. He is a formidable presence between the posts, and his outspoken leadership ability both on and off the pitch led to his appointment of captain of Herat club side Mardom Yek. He reportedly has a close relationship with the Prime Minister.
19. Ali Muhammad (19) (Ghavvasa)
A young talent who rose to the position of top keeper for Ghavvasa at age 17, and who earned his first caps for the national team during the 22nd Baptism of Frost.
22. Ali Hanijule (18) (Nine Columns)
The youngest keeper to ever hold the starting keeper’s job at Nine Columns Athletic. Hanijule has always worn the number 22, in honour of Wahab Rajikh, the late Nine Columns goalkeeper.
DEFENDERS
3. Sherer Inu (19) (Nine Columns)
A skilled tackler, Inu has proven himself the best right back in the Afghan Premier League over the course of the last two seasons. His youth leaves something to be desired in terms of composure; his exuberance tends to leave open spots in the defense, which Western Afghanistan cannot afford in a 3-5-2. Luckily, his skill is unparalleled.
5. Zalakh Ruburirin (26) (Nine Stars)
The only Nine Stars presence on the national team. However, he has been occupying the spot of centre back for years, due to his massive size and heading ability. He captained the Lightning Warriors to a first-ever second-place finish last year, and has reportedly been a player of interest at Nine Columns, the more popular Q’an Coliseum occupant.
8. Qishuhuje Zuneh (20) (Ghavvasa)
Ghavvasa FC’s pacy left back. As the most controversial man in the starting eleven, he continues to be under enormous pressure to outperform the man whose job he took, Assef Zushe. He was a little-known practice squad member with the Orange Aquatics until, like many other young talents, he was spotted by Khuhekhezal Muhammad and promoted.
12. Shabun Rushenaqud (28) (Pesarast Xanto)
Represents Pesarast Xanto’s only choice for the national squad. Unlike most of the rest of the Sorkh-o-siahe, he is extremely slow but brutishly strong, in keeping with typical characteristics of Pesarast Xanto players.
14. Assef Zushe (27) (Herat Jadid)
For years, a fixture at left back on the national team; but Khuhekhezal Muhammad has announced that Zuneh will assume the role.
21. Khefinehu Heziq (25) (Daru Khuneh)
An unremarkable halfback, Heziq seems to be only on the team because he converted a penalty in Daru Khuneh’s West Afghan Cup semifinal victory last season.
MIDFIELDERS
2. Muhammad Zuled Muhammad (20) (Nine Columns)
A spectacular playmaker for the Lions, he has been voted Nine Columns Athletic’s most popular player by fans two years in a row. He is a super talent and set-piece king who has attracted attention from clubs outside of Western Afghanistan. Manager Muhammad’s 3-5-2 will likely rotate around the effectiveness of Z. Muhammad’s explosive ability.
6. Nefe Huzish (19) (Ghavvasa)
Another speedy facet of Ghavvasa’s offensive unit, Huzish was expected to be named to the national team starting 11 the moment his old manager was given the title of head trainer. His pure defensive ability will give Western Afghanistan a well-rounded talent in the centre of the midfield, particularly if he has used at defensive midfielder as expected.
9. Sohrab Nukhadufil (18) (Nine Columns)
Youngster who outplayed Qeshelu to pick up the position of left centre mid. Extremely fast and extremely explosive, the national team will sorely miss him in the first part of qualifying due to a knee injury. Either Qeshelu, Hirir, or possibly Ena will fill out the starting lineup in Nukhadufil's absense.
11. Iji Muhammad (28) (Ghavvasa)
Ghavvasa has always enjoyed the presence of Iji Muhammad on the starting eleven of the national team. He has played at left wing ever since the creation of the national team eight years ago. When he plays in World Cup qualifying (which may not be for some time) he will be wearing a cast on his left arm.
13. Shenelukhur Qeshelu (27) (Mardom Yek)
A consistent presence on the national team, Shenelukhur Qeshelu is a talented Mardom Yek left mid. He will be likely seeing time at left mid, but will be unseated by Sohrab Nukhadufil once the latter returns from injury.
15. Khuq Nakhar (34) (Herat Jadid)
The longtime captain of the popular club side Herat Jadid, Nakhar has never earned a cap with the national team due to his very poor pace. However, Manager Muhammad has offered him a spot before the aging veteran’s career ends.
16. Muhammad Ramat Muhammad (20) (Daru Khuneh)
A hot-tempered and physical midfielder, Muhammad has gained notoriety not only for his playmaking ability at left wing, but for his string of red cards in the APL. He has been an excellent replacement for I. Muhammad since the latter's injury.
17. Ali Qer (26) (Sagaye)
Sagaye FC will be playing in the Afghan Premier League for the first time next season. However, the club has always been in the public eye because the national team’s premier right wing was effectively born and raised in the Dogs’ youth system. The upcoming year is sure to be an exciting year for Qer, and he will be in good form for the upcoming qualifying matches.
20. Uzib Hirir (29) (Daru Khuneh)
Daru Khuneh’s captain has never turned many heads in the goalscoring department. However, his charisma and leadership are significant skills and have earned him a spot on the national team.
23. Amir Ena (16) (Nine Columns)
Still in search of his first pitch action with Nine Columns, his unparalleled talent brought him to Errinundera for the Baptism of Fire. Though an injury will keep him out for a small period, he will undoubtedly be making appearances in qualifying due to his all-tournament squad performance at the BoF.
FORWARDS
4. Assef Rushufi (20) (Nine Columns)
A young but vastly talented and physical striker, Assef Rushufi rose to fame at Mardom Yek before being purchased by defending champions Nine Columns two years ago. Still only twenty, he is the back-to-back scoring king of the Afghan Premier League and unquestionably the best player on the Western Afghanistan squad.
7. Iqu Afi (22) (Ghavvasa)
A diminutive but dangerous young talent, Afi had not been expected to make the team at all prior to the Baptism of Fire, despite his popularity and obvious skill. However, his former manager has started Afi in every match he has coached for the national team. Afi's small size is redeemed by his tremendous pace.
EDIT: Iqu Afi is out for 6 months due to a torn right ACL. He will not be available as a substitute for the remainder of World Cup qualifying.
10. Jafaje Zekhesha (27) (Sagaye)
With Sagaye’s promotion to the Afghan Premier League, top Dogs goalscorer Jafaje Zekhesha gained enough attention to earn a spot on the roster for World Cup qualifying.
18. Muhammad Izi Muhammad (18) (Sagaye)
Zekhesha’s young counterpart at Sagaye, Muhammad is the only non-West Afghan-born player on the squad. He was born in Bettia to a West Afghan father and Bettian mother, and only moved to Herat after his parents’ divorce.
Starting lineup, changes will be announced in RPs.
1. Fahifa
3. Inu 5. Ruburirin 8. Zuneh
17. Qer 2. M.Z. Muhammad 6. Huzish 20. Hirir 16. M.R. Muhammad
7. Afi 4. Rushufi
Western Afghanistan's home stadium is the 70,000 seat Q'an Coliseum, built in Herat ten years ago for clubs sides Nine Columns and Nine Stars, as well as national team play
http://www.freewebs.com/abduldukhirahiq/qan.bmp
It is worth noting that the government of Western Afghanistan, while under the control of a tolerant liberal party, is technically regarded by most UN analysts to be a dictatorship. Further, as the state religion is emphatically (even if unofficially) Islam, many typical so-called rights will not be available to visiting squads.
Firstly, both alcohol and cigarettes are expressly forbidden. Possession of these items will likely lead to steep fines and possible deportation. The environment is extremely important to West Afghans. Do not neglect to place trash or other disposable items in the allotted public disposal bins. This offense can also result in very heavy fines or deportation.
Because of revenue-generation strategies, the Office of the Secretaries (which strictly controls all commerce) has banned all forms of transportation with the exception of automobiles (and aircraft, though licenses are effectively impossible to get). To get places in Western Afghanistan, one will likely have to either walk or rent a car, and renting a car can be an expensive proposition. Further, the roads are in abominable condition. Luckily, ALL home qualifiers will be held at the Q'an Coliseum in northern Herat, and so transportation should not be an issue; your squad will be escorted on foot by the national guard.
Adultery is punishable by death in Western Afghanistan. Though physical relations with unmarried West Afghan nationals is likely only to cause social animosity, any discovery of a foreign person having physical relations with a married West Afghan is likely to result in capital punishment. Respect for this law is (needless to say) strongly encouraged, as it is one of the most deeply culturally supported laws in the constitution. Outsiders should consider themselves warned.

The official Western Afghanistan national team supporters group is called the Avalanche of Mummies. This fashion began at the start of the Baptism of Frost when Zuled Muhammad and Ena wore mummy costumes as a joke. Fans now attend matches coated entirely in toilet paper. These fans are as polite as any, but other fans should be aware that any "do I smell dead body" jokes will be responded to with Kentish cider being thrown in the mocker's eyes. This can be extremely painful, and in some cases result in blindness.
In honor of the wash of white that lights up the Q'an Coliseum for home matches as a result of 'the Avalanche,' the Western Afghanistan alternate kit is all white. The home kit is based off of the West Afghan flag; red and black halves with green trim. The team is therefore commonly referred to as the Sorkh-o-siahe, which is Dari for red and black.

CAFUNDÉU RELEASES THE OFFICIAL LIST OF PLAYERS FOR THE 35th WORLD CUP
(Lasft, Cafundéu) – After the best campaign in the country’s history, the CCFM (Confederação Cafundelense de Futebol Masculino – in English, Cafundéu’s Male Football Confederation) released the list of players for this World Cup with high hopes. The controversial Alfredo Neves will coach the team, and he is known as a dictator inside his team, who wants to explore the best of his players. With him, the CCFM hopes to see a determined team with much marking, but an offensive attitude, like in the last cups.
There were some changes in the team, as some stars will stay on the bench while some younger players will take their places in the starting team. With this, Alfredo wants to show the players that there are no absolute starter. Also, some older players were dropped from the National Team, including the top goalscorer Ganz Ijak. Renário will stay and will play as a starter.
See the list of the 23 players:
Goalkeepers:
1-Luís Octávio Andrade JÚNIOR (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 205cm - Weight: 93kg – Age: 23 years old
The “slim barrier”, as he is called, won a place in the starting team and is now a key player. He had some wonderful seasons playing for A.F.F., and is known as a calm and concentrated goalkeeper, who can save penalties and is in the right place in the right moment. His reflexes are also excellent. He only needs to adapt himself to the tough games of Alfredo Neves.

PLAYED WC 34
12-Ney MATOGROSSO (Team: CR Submiria)
Height: 196cm - Weight: 100kg – Age: 27 years old
Ney Matogrosso plays in a medium team of the first division of the league. He is a good goalkeeper, good in one on ones, but poor in saving free kick and in leaving the goal. But he usually plays very well in important games. Some players think that he is strange, as he has makes some strange rituals before the games and wears one boot of each color during the game. He also has a strange hairstyle.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: C - Morale: A - Form: C
PLAYED WC 34
22-LAURO Navarro Vasconcelos (Team: Pernetas EC)
Height: 186cm - Weight: 72kg – Age: 22 years old
One of the most promising goalkeepers of the last five years, Lauro left Penders and joined Pernetas EC, where he sent the starter keeper, Sedoso, to the bench. With excellent games, helping the team to win important games, he won a place in the National Team. He is a young and eccentric goalkeeper, who likes to take free kicks too, but he’ll have little opportunity in the team. He is also very intelligent.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A
Right Defenders:
2-Leonardo Macedo de Mattos "LÉO MATTOS" (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 20 years old
A fast, intelligent and offensive full-back, who can play in both sides of the field, although he prefers the right side. He lacks some defensive abilities, so he suits better in an offensive strategy, as he is very fast and has good passing and shooting abilities. He is very young, so is still unexperienced. He has developed a lot, and now is surely the best full-back of the whole National Team.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B– Form: B
PLAYED WC 34
16-Vinícius Nogueira COELHO (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 77kg – Age: 24 years old
A player who showed some talent for many years in Pernetas EC, but just now got a chance to go to the National Team, something that happened just after he was bought by the billionaire Petardos S/A. He is an extremely fast right-back, with average passing, but good positioning. He also likes to attack and take corner kicks, and he can be a good weapon for Cafundéu.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: B
Left Defenders:
6-ANDRÉ LUÍS Di Natale (Team: Atlético Jutense)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 76kg – Age: 29 years old
André Luís is already an experienced player, who played for many teams of Cafundéu. He didn’t go to the National Team before the arrival of the new coach, who like his style and watched his good performances when he was playing for Central United. Now, he has a chance to show his quality. He is a technical defender, who passes well the ball and is good defensively too.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: A
13-Ray KIRS (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 173cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 33 years old
Ray Kirs is one of the players that lost some space with the arrival of the new coach. He has great vision, passing and tackling, but isn’t the same from the last cups.. He lacks some speed and is extremely tactical, and his team mates respect him. He still has the confidence of the supporters. He doesn't like to talk to the media and to the press and trains hard.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: C - Morale: C - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 32/33/34
Central Defenders:
3-EDUARDO MONTE Castelo Casagrande (Team: EC Elville)
Height: 172cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 19 years old
One of the best surprises in the team. Eduardo Monte was just a promising youngster of the Sub-23 team, but he impressed the whole world with his speed and perfect long passes. He defends well, but needs the help of a more experienced defender, like Becão. He is extremely happy with his current life, and is ready to play well as a starter of the National Team, even being very young.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A
4-João Chico Tripa de Boi "BECÃO" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 190cm - Weight: 102kg – Age: 32 years old
Becão plays with much will and using all his strength, so he is feared by the attackers. His tacking is awesome and his passing is good. But he is very slow and can't finish well, unless he uses his head to try to score(he can use his head well – and he scores a lot of goals this way). He obeys the coach and is now the official captain of the team. Talks a lot in the media and is a hero in his team. He is considered the second strongest player in Cafundéu and one of the most determined too.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 32/33/34
14-Pedro Jorge Nascimento "ALEMÃO" (Team: Central United)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 98kg – Age: 25 years old
Another player that got some success recently. He is happy to go to his second World Cup and wants to use his good defensive abilities, his strength and his good heading ability to help the National Team. Can be the starter of the NT if continues improving, but it doesn’t seem the case right now.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: C
PLAYED WC 34
20-José Augusto Marques DORIVA (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 182cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 23 years old
Much people don’t think that Doriva is good enough to play in the National Team, but the coach likes him, so he is here. A solid defender, does his job well, but nothing special. Passes well, but doesn’t score goals often. Will be just an option in the bench, as he isn’t as good as Becão or Eduardo Monte.
Rating: D - Team Relationship: A - Morale: C - Form: B
Defensive Midfielders:
5-Mukulaiê Bakarangobadah Zulaiêká "ANORMAL" (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 220cm - Weight: 132kg – Age: 25 years old
A monster in the field, Anormal has a strange past. His father is a famous scientist, and his mother is unknown. Many sources say that Anormal is an experience made by his father, but this is only a theory. Anormal is young, but surely the best player of the team. Taller and heavier than any other player of the team, he has more abilities than anyone. Great physical strength, very fast and is good at everything(heading, shooting, passing, tacking). His only weakness is that he doesn't want to hurt his opponent, so he tries to get the ball in a gentle way, being dribbled sometimes. But everybody loves him and he'll surely play all the games.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A
PLAYED WCs 32/33/34
8-Gabriel Pereira BARBOSA (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 77kg – Age: 27 years old
Barbosa was just a reserve player of Dunboor FC until the injury of De Bois. He entered, and didn't leave. He is extremely good at creating plays, and is a good dribbler. His defensives abilities are good too, but he often attacks and doesn’t goes back to the defense to help. Now he is a starter, after he went to Petardos S/A
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WC 34
21-Gleydson Jassin Lopes "NEGO GUERREIRO" (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 188cm - Weight: 90kg – Age: 22 years old
Another strong defensive midfielder, Nego Guerreiro has good technique too, and can create plays for the team. He was playing for A.F.F., but his contract expired and he decided to join Braddock’s Dunboor FC. He is considered a natural leader, someone who can be the captain of the team (but he isn’t). He avoids confusions, but is very determined and fights for every ball.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: B
Neutral Midfielders:
18-Carlos FALCUS (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 65kg – Age: 27 years old
Falcus is a very solid and intelligent player, who can create some very good plays and goal chances. He is also a good free kick taker, and has good tactical knowledge. His current form is not so good, so he can stay on the bench. His passes and dribbles are his strong point. Now that he is one of the key players of Petardos S/A’s team, he is famous and respected by everybody.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: C
PLAYED WCs 33/34
23-Georgious METIR (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 28 years old
Player with indigenous origin, has technique and likes to predict the actions of his opponents, dribbling them. He scores lots of goals in the league. Reporters say that he isn’t a friendly person, and he doesn’t talk very often, even with his team mates. When playing, he obeys all the coach’s orders. He is now back in the National Team, after being out of the last cup’s squad.

Attacking Midfielders:
10-DÁRIO dos Campos Salles (Team: Atlético Jutense)
Height: 168cm – Weight: 64kg – Age: 23 years old
Dário was one of the “Galáxia SC wonders”, five players of the Fourth Division team that surprised the country. Now, in Atlético Jutense, he is having very good performances, using all his scoring and dribbling ability to help the team, and went to the National Team. He is also good at passes and set pieces, but isn’t good at defending. He improves every year, and now is a starter in the team.

15-Ricardo Steppt KLIEK (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 166cm - Weight: 68kg – Age: 26 years old
Kliek is another player that lost some space in the National Team. He is a very offensive midfielder, and doesn't defend. His passing, dribbling and finishing are OK, and his heading isn't so good. But he is very creative and can make good plays and create a lot of goal chances for his team mates. He can also get lost balls, that were almost leaving the field, reaching it with speed. He is also very funny and likes to make jokes and to provoke the opponents. He isn’t happy to stay on the bench.

17-Leandro Keller ASSIS (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 174cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 26 years old
Another hard working player, that suits the style of the coach, Assis left Atlético Jutense last year to join Petardos. With his fighting spirit and his good passes, he became one of the best players of the team. In the country’s team, he is ready to do a good job, and can use his speed and his vision to do it. He is also a friendly person, but doesn’t talk much with his team mates.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: B
Attackers:
7-TALES Cassiano Assunção Sobrinho (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 179cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 23 years old
A player who has developed a lot during the last years, Tales support the other attackers, and can make many assistances. His main objective isn’t to score goals, but sometimes he uses his good finishing ability to do that. He is also very fast and has good passes, but wants to stay away from set pieces. He became a bit arrogant after playing well for the National Team and changed teams, but still has the confidence of most of the players. He’ll be a starter in the team. He likes to talk with the media.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: B
9-RENÁRIO de Arruda Santos (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 162cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 34 years old
A legend who isn’t in good form and is unfit. His abilities aren’t the same, but he is still one of the most deadly strikers of Cafundéu. His chip shots are lethal and his positioning very good too. The only problem is his physical situation, but he seems ready to play in the competition. He now is a starter of the team.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: C
PLAYED WCs 33/34
11-HEITOR Abbade (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 72kg - Age: 25 years old
He doesn't score the same amount of goals that Ijak or Renário score, but he has a very good finishing too. His heading isn't accurate and his dribbling is far from perfect, but his passing is good. He likes to press the opponent defender and try to take the ball from him. He also can create some goal chances. When he is not playing he works in the CCFM judging the referees, and has a good future as a player. He also has a good relationship with the media.

19-Ivan Moutinho Gomes "FLECHA" (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 164cm - Weight: 60kg - Age: 20 years old
The most promising “wonderkid” of Galáxia SC, Flecha has more technique than the near-retired Renário or the arrogant Tales, but is too young to hold the pressure of playing in such an important competition, so he’ll stay on the bench. Main responsible for the rise of Galáxia in the lower leagues, he is now in SC Lasft. His best friends in Galáxia, Rato, Carlos Magno and Ferreira, can go to the National Team in the future, but now only Flecha and Dário are in it. He is really fast (his nickname means arrow in english) and has a good finishing, but isn’t too good in making assistances. Is a player to look in the future.

Staff:
Coach: ALFREDO NEVES (Former Cafundó do Juta coach)
Height: 202cm - Weight: 98kg – Age: 58 years old
The new coach of the National Team seems rude and has a bad popularity. But is exactly because of his style that the CCFM signed him. In his training, very intensive, he looks to extract the best of each player with hard work and determination, things that he gives a big value. He also criticizes the media sometimes and even his own players, when the team is losing. He knows that he won’t stay if the team fails, so he will need to put the team to work.

Assistant Coach: SANDRO MENEGHEL
Height: 158cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 39 years old
Sandro Meneghel came with Alfredo Neves, as his personal assistant. Rivaldo Sodré left the National Team furious, but he could do nothing, as Alfredo can do what he wants with the staff members, although he decided to mantain the other members (especially Mallandro, as he likes him). Sandro is a good assistant, but has a common style. That’s because he’s often considered just an average coach.

Pai Dinah(or Pai Oxossi) is the spy of the team. He says that he can discover the most deeper secrets of the opponent talking with the opponent players and using his secret talents. He is a very strange person and many people say that he is crazy. But he does his work well, and most of the times he discover the secrets of the enemy.

The players and the staff need to be relaxed to play all the games. So, Serginho Mallandro's job is to make jokes, play games and help to make everybody happy. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying with his phrases like "Glu-glu", or "Bilu-bilu tetéia" and other ones, and even the directors don't like him very much, but he will stay with the NT. Age: 83 years old - Time in the job: 18 years
Jowenguard's family is one of the founders of the CCFM. He was the president of the CCFM for 30 years, but health problems made him renounce. Now, without problems, he has the job of director of the National Teams(less important), but he still has great influence in the CCFM and in the CFFC, choosing the NT coach and changing some things that he shouldn't change(I won't give any details about it).
Rating: A - Influence: A - Morale: D - Confidence: A
President of the CCFM: Counsellor-Minister of Sports MR. Samuel MAKAS
Age: 63 years old - Time in the job: 7 years
The president of the CCFM Sabrina Arrojo died. An election was held to decide who would take her place. Miguel Jóia, manager of players, tried to get the place, but the counsellor-minister of sports won. The counsellor Makas is one of the most important members of Cafundéu's government. He isn't very flexible in the job, and his influence inside the CCFM, even being a counsellor, is low(Jowenguard controls the CCFM more than him), but he has the confidence of all the directors and is improving his qualities. He is very ambitious and wants more money at all costs. He was involved in corruption schemes involving clubs and players last year, but no proof was shown.
Rating: C - Influence: C - Morale: A - Confidence: B
The formation:
Offensive 4-3-3. The right and left-backs are more defensive this time, but they can go to attack while one of the defensive midfielders cover the defense (normally Barbosa).
Style: 2 to the attack.

Note: The Scout is alive, and will get back to work during the WC 35 qualifiers, searching for good players to buy and bring to Cafundéu. In every round, he’ll be in a game, but this game won’t be revealed (you can say that he was seen in your game if you want). But this time, he’ll receive good protection from the CCFM, including the special agent Fred Cardoso, who is recovered after being shot in the investigations of The Scout’s kidnapping during last World Cup.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background Detail: Cafundéu doesn't have strange costumes and nothing too absurd happens there. But please note that in Cafundéu you'll have to pay for almost everything. You'll have to pay for the water, food, transport, products, to walk in the road, to receive an answer about something, to complain, to thank, and many other things. Cafundéu also is looking to profit with these qualifiers, so any country with good economy is free to invest here or buy some of our products. Drugs are prohibited and the laws are very strict. The prisons are horrible and the prisoners live in bad conditions, but they have the right to watch the games in Carandirú City for free. Cafundéu's press is also very annoying, as they'll make everything to get some news. More detail in my NSWiki (about government).
Stadiums Used: Cafundéu has many stadiums that are in good conditions to be used for the World Cup qualifiers. But 8 were chosen and can host the competition, although 4 will surely be used. The others will only used depending of the number of games played. Here are the cities:
Cafundó do Juta: capital of the country, is a big metropolis, with many things to do, good nightlife and shops, and also many tourist points. The police are well funded and is important for the economy of the country. The stadium is very nice and has excellent infrastructure, and is often used for other events, as shows. It also is close of the Bovecaf, Cafundéu’s stock market’s main building.
Climate: warm and wet(high rain probability).
Stadium: Praça Maior.
Capacity: 150,000.
Infrastructure: *****
Abadia: this city is known for its strange division of neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has a respective leader, which represents it in the city hall. And most leaders represent a family. These families are very powerful in the city and control almost everything. The city is very big, but has some old traditions that are still unchanged. A.F.F.’s stadium will be used in the BoF. It’s very big and modern, as it was recently finished.
Climate: warm and wet(medium rain probability).
Stadium: Terreno da Vitória
Capacity: 100,000.
Infrastructure: ****
Lux: has the highest IDH in the country and one of the highest in the world. So, it’s considered one of the best cities to live. It has good security, education and healthcare, but nothing very interesting to tourists. The stadium is very modern, but isn’t one of the biggest of the country.
Climate: cold and wet(medium rain probability).
Stadium: Arena do Imperador.
Capacity: 60,000.
Infrastructure: *****
Lasft: second biggest city of the country, Lasft is more beautiful than Cafundó do Juta, since it’s on the seaside. People from around the world come to Lasft every year because of its beaches and businesses. It also is the headquarters of the CCFM. The stadium is the most beautiful of the country, with clean bathrooms and an organized restaurant.
Climate: hot and wet(medium rain probability).
Stadium: Obelisco Monumental.
Capacity: 100,000.
Infrastructure: *****
Central City: as the name says, this city is located in the centre of the country. It has one of the biggest airports of the country and has a chaotic traffic. As the city is located in an area of mountains, it has many tunnels. Its altitude is very high, so some players can have difficulties in playing in this city, as they can lose breath very fast. The stadium is located in the rich part of the city.
Climate: cold and dry(low rain probability).
Stadium: Toca do Tatu.
Capacity: 85,000.
Infrastructure: *****
Carandirú City: this city was very interesting in the past, but now it’s only used to hold prisoners. Cafundéu’s army is located there, too. It’s the prison city, but is very safe and has many exotic food shops. The stadium is located inside the main prison of the city, and most of the prisoners see the games.
Climate: hot and dry(low rain probability).
Stadium: Presídio.
Capacity: 75,000.
Infrastructure: ****
Dunboor: this city is big, but it isn’t too visited by tourists, because of its very cold weather. But it’s good for business and has the biggest mines of the country are in Dunboor. So, it’s jewelry and coal factories are the most important of the country. During the winter (it’s autumn now), it snows nearly everyday in Dunboor. The supporters there like to bring musical instruments to the stadium.
Climate: extremely cold and dry(low rain probability).
Stadium: Maracatu Arena.
Capacity: 90,000.
Infrastructure: *****
Astari: another economic centre, is the home of two of the biggest companies of Cafundéu: the C-Electronics and the Uranium Kings. Businesses are constant there and the nightlife is very good. It’s called the “city of colourful lights”, as the public lights are of many colours. Its roads are very interesting too. Most games in this stadium will be played at night.
Climate: extremely hot and wet(high rain probability).
Stadium: C-Electronics Stadium.
Capacity: 80,000.
Infrastructure: ****

Coaching:
Co-Manager: Janne Aalto
Co-Manager: Ivan Benelli
The Manging tandem of Aalto and Benelli have announced that they will return for one more shot at the cup, after which they will pass the reins along to the next Squornshelan Manger or Managers. Just under half of their starters from last cup have returned, and the attack remains mostly intact, with only the loss of Jaromil Ctibor disrupting the forwards area at all. Defense will be a little more up in the air, with two of three defenders and both defensive midfielders leaving.
Starters' Profiles:
Jaska Wirmann (GK): Jaska finally gets his chance at stardom out of the shadow of Ensio Varg, who has retired from international football to play in Cafendu. Wirmann is a fine keeper, and has improved since last cup, he has equal, if not greater skill now than Varg did for World Cup 34.
Njord Fridtjof (RB): Fridtjof has gone from a promising young player to a real force to be reckoned with. He has the speed to stay with strikers making runs, and the ball handling skills to join in attacks down the right wing. His tackling is sometimes reckless, but is steadily improving.
Gunnar Jonsson (CB): Gunnar is a good defender, but not great. He is starting because Ogor Klipsoff is much more of an outside fullback. Jonsson will probably recieve pretty good support from his defensive midfielders to try to force play to the outside, where it can be handled more easily.
Sten Mortenson (LB): Mortenson has had a difficult time with Squornshelan fans and press, but he has proved himself with a solid performance last cup. He should now be looked at as the strong point of the defense.
Pauli Aimo (RDM): Aimo is one of the more aware players on the field for Squornshelous. He has a knack for pass interceptions and anticipating the direction of play well. He doesn't quite have the speed to play further forward, but he makes up for it with good endurance and constant hustle.
Per Korov (LDM): Korov is another tirless player, always chasing down the loose balls that other players are content to let roll out over the line. He is sometimes caught out of position or off balance because of this though.
Emil Jalmari (RAM): Probably the best shot of our midfielders, he will be getting a lot of feeds up the middle and down the right wing. He has continued to improve as a goal scorer since his debut in World Cup 33.
Arman Latvala (LAM): Latvala is the most experienced player on the team. He is a fantastic passer and is deadly accurate on free kicks. He acts as a sort of mentor to the young Jalmari. He plays his club ball in Cafendu.
Patrik Hermanni (CF): Another great passer, Hermanni works together with Latvala extremely well. He is overlooked as a goalscorer sometimes but is definitely a threat to put it in the back of the net if the defence concentrates too much on other players. He'll be setting up a lot of shooters, but if given a chance, he won't hesitate to shoot. Like his close friend Latvala, he plays for a Cafenduan(?) club.
Nikko Barker (RS): Barker is a talented player who looked like he would be forever doomed to play sparingly behind the glut of strikers Squornshelous always seems to enjoy. He gets his chance to prove he can perform, but will likely share time with Lanne Niemenen.
Pertti Vilho (LS): Vilho did very well in his baptism by fire last cup, and has earned himself a definite starting spot. He may rotate around with Barker and Niemenen, but he will play most of the time.
Squornshelous will play in a 3-2-3-3 formation

General Information:
All Squornshelan Home matches will be played at Vogsphere Arena in our capital, Vogsphere unless otherwise stated. The Arena is an aging, but recently renovated stadium that seats 75,000.
In culture and ethnicity, Squornshelous is a mixture of Slavic and Nordic peoples. Fish and game meats are very prevalent in local cuisine and alchohol of some kind is served with most meals. Many people are very heavy drinkers, and although the stuff served in "tourist bars" is weaker, foreigners not used to the lifestyle may find themselves drunk under the table by locals fairly rapidly, especially if they find their way to the bars that locals frequent.

Bios:
Coach Charles DuPont is coaching the Sel Appa National Team for the fourth straight attempt for the World Cup. He brought the Turtles into the international football world and delivered them to not only the 33rd World Cup Finals, but into the Round of 16. Always optimistic, DuPont strongly believes Sel Appa will advance to the World Cup Proper again.
GK Vasily Kashchenko is renowned throughout Sel Appa for his abilities in the net. He expects his mastery in the net to show during these qualifiers. He expects to keep the number of goals conceded in this tournament as quite low.
DF Kash Vasou is a rookie and little is known about him in major games. He was recruited because of his remarkable back-pitch abilities and ability to coordinate well with the goalkeeper. He was often said to be a second goalkeeper.
DF Bernard Apple is known for his coming "out of nowhere" and sending the ball far down the pitch with just a kick.
DF Jimmy Peech is known in Sel Appa as "The Wall" for his large size that allows him to block balls. He is a very important part of every defensive wall.
MF Jacques Latortue is well-known in Sel Appa for enabling swift connections between defense and strikers. It was once said that "the ball was heading back upfield before he even got it".
MF Colin Patette is a master midfielder and probably Sel Appa's best. He can work in almost any situation and ensures that the ball is always in front of him. He acted as captain during Estevez's suspension during WC32 and delivered a 7-2 victory over Algal States. Many see him as a possible replacement for Estevez, should he retire.
MF Arthur Mercator IV has a long football lineage going back to his great-grandfather Arthurt "Art" Mercator I. All have been excellent well-known players who have amazed many. Arthur's son, Arthur Mercator V, is also considering a professional football career.
MF Arthur Mercator V is the son of midfielder Arthur Mercator IV and the fifth in a line of Sel Appan football legends. The Mercator Dynasty continues with this new addition, who is replacing Pho Nguyen who retired. He is expected to team up with his father.
FW Alan Dubrov is one of Sel Appa's youngest players and is expected to be around for some time. He is considered one of Sel Appa's best footballers and is expected to put on a good show. He is the only player on the team to play for a foreign team: Dunboor FC of Cafendeu.
FW George Bedding is generally used as a substitute, but may see action this Cup.
FW Miquelinho, at 17 is the youngest player on the team. He is said to be very good at most shots and can score from almost any situation, like Estevez. Many call him "lil Estevez" due to his similar abililties.
FW Estevez is widely regarded as Sel Appa's best footballer and has made over 100 goals in his career. He is well-known for being able to make virtually every shot, from corner kicks to free kicks to penalty kicks. He plans to show off much of his skills and is fairly certain Sel Appa will make the Knouckout Rounds. He is the team's captain and does this job well.
FW Alex Nart is Estevez's attacking partner and the two are often seen charging down the pitch gracefully and often scoring a goal. Many regard him as a co- or vice-captain to Estevez.

27-05-2007, 14:36
The GNUs of The HURD
The HURD uses a team of robots of the Schneier-class (replacing the former Nassi-Shneidermann-class robots). One reason for the change is the increased size of 128 centimeters. They are programmed by a rather big community around them. The design and programming is still beta even though improving. Tyler or Zuse might even attempt to patch players during the match. The formation is a 5-4-1. The robots are not named except for links (yes, pronounced just as lynx), the goalkeeper. lynx still travels with the HURDists as substitute goalkeeper despite its size of only 64 centimeters.

The Sir Kenneth Kendall Stadium, Bellstead – 45,000 capacity ultramodern glass-encrusted corporodome and the home ground of Great Bellstead, one of the traditional giants in the Wentland game; Bellstead is part of the Warplands, but at the foot of the Warp Mountains and therefore far more genteel – with the exception of the rough district of Alumgreen
Rock Road, Bellstead – 16,000 capacity ground of multiple cells and home to tiny Alumgreen; used for the more lairy matches as they are known to be a fairly active crowd
The Garrison, Royal Heath – 41,000 concrete bowl that has not been updated for forty years; the cash-strapped Heathens tend to spend all money on the players; another one notorious for a killer atmosphere
Warplands Stadium, Warpstone – the closest to a national stadium in Wentland, hosts 60,000; home ground of Warpstone; part of the twisted volcanic Warplands twists
King’s Reach, Fleetway – 28,000 capacity folly built by the eccentric multibillionaire publisher owner of Fleetway; noted for a gigantic tower that shines with various odd colours at various odd times; at the top is a massive single floodlight that sweeps the pitch
The Academy, Donington – 22,000 capacity stadium designed after Hellenistic exemplars; all columns and pedestals, part of the University of Donington complex and still home to the Donington Wanderers, whose grey and red kit generally influences the change colours of Wentland

Estresse Intenso

Landau Institute's selected doctors for the World Cup 35
Style: -2
Estresse Intenso is a very dangerous and difficult place to live. Its citizens have to support all the stress resultant of a society that is near to an anarchy. The country itself doesn't have a National Team, but there is one place that has, the only place that doesn't have the pressure of Estresse Intenso's way of life.
Many people from Estresse Intenso succumbed to the stress. Most of them became crazy and couldn't live in the country anymore. So, they went to the Landau Institute, where the stress can be controlled and any craziness signs can be controlled by the many doctors that live there, employed by Doctor Rogério Landau.
All the players of Estresse Intenso's National Team come from the Landau Institute, and there they can train 12 hours per day, every day. But this time, after recent failures of a team composed by patients, Doctor Rogério Landau decided to pick the most respected doctors of the Institute (those who can play well football) and created a team composed by doctors and professors.
Because of this entirely new way of choosing the players (all the players will go to their first international competition), Estresse Intenso has a completely new style, more defensive. Please note that most of the players are old. This is because someone can only be considered a doctor after intense study, and the minimum age is of 23 (but few are able to become doctor at this age).
To become a professor, the doctors need to keep studying, and only after a specific number of services made for the Landau Institute, a doctor gets this title (it takes approximately twenty years). A professor works together with the commanders of the Institute. The title would suggest that he would start acting as a teacher for young doctors, but this isn't the case.
So, see the Doctors Team of Landau Institute, for the WC 35, with their specialities:
Goalkeepers:
1- Professor Dráuzio VARELA: one of the most respected doctors of Estresse Intenso, has a strict relationship with Doctor Rogério Landau, president of the Landau Institute.
Occupation: Cardiologist
Age: 60 years old
12- Doctor Ânderson MALVINO: a doctor with good sense of humor, nice with his patients. Some doctors don't like him, as he is too much popular with the patients.
Occupation: Endocrinologist
Age: 38 years old
22- Doctor CLÊMER Otário: a bit dumb, this doctor often needs assistance to assist his patients. As he talks with the oldest patients of the Institute, he has great knowledge of the place.
Occupation: Geriatrician
Age: 26 years old
Right-Backs:
2- Doctor Cecília BATISTA: very friendly with both the patients and the other doctors, she surely is ambitious and easily gets what she wants, as, for example, a place in the National Team.
Occupation: Hematologist
Age: 25 years old
21- Doctor Fernando SOUZA: a rude doctor. The patients fear him and want to see him far away from them. But the truth is that he likes his patients, but doesn't have the courage to reveal that.
Occupation: Nephrologist
Age: 42 years old
Left-Backs:
3- Professor Ricardo RODRIGUES: another respected professor of the Landau Institute, he works alongside with Varela and Landau. He is a quiet and shy person, who has great respect for his friends.
Occupation: Pathologyst
Age: 72 years old
13- Doctor MARCELO OLIVEIRA: not too famous in terms of medicine ability, but very famous in terms of football ability. He is fast, passes the ball well, and can play some games.
Occupation: Infectiologist
Age: 27 years old
Central Defenders:
4- Professor Jesus BANGU MELO: right-hand of Doctor Rogério Landau, he makes miracles in the defense. With ability, he can stop the most deadly attackers, but doesn't have much speed.
Occupation: Psychiatrist
Age: 57 years old
6- Doctor Thiago CABRINI: one of the most intelligent doctors of the Institute, but considered selfish by his patients or close friends. Will be a starter, but can finish on the bench.
Occupation: Oncologist
Age: 52 years old
14- Doctor Sílvio MORAES: he is calm and never discuss with anyone. He likes to help people in need, and loves his job in the Institute. Can get a place in the starter team.
Occupation: Dentist
Age: 50 years old
20- Doctor Wellington QUEVEDO: a doctor with little patience. Agressive, he already sent three patients to the surgery room after discussions. Because of that, he is close to be a patient too.
Occupation: Psychiatrist
Age: 43 years old
Defensive Midfielders:
5- Doctor César ZETTI: the most compassionate doctor, he has good intentions, and wants to recover all his patients. Unfortunately for him, he isn't a famous doctor, although he is a good football player.
Occupation: General Practitioner
Age: 38 years old
15- Doctor Juan Carlos GARRIDO: came from abroad, so he still has difficulties to communicate. Has good football abilities, but he is mysterious, and some doctors don't trust on him.
Occupation: Surgeon
Age: 51 years old
23- Doctor Maria Lopes DOS SANTOS: not sociable, Maria doesn't like to talk with other people, only concentrating on her studies. She wants to be a professor soon.
Occupation: Pharmacologyst
Age: 46 years old
Neutral Midfielders:
7- Professor ALINE Felipo: Aline is the wife of Doctor Rogério Landau, and one of the founders of the Landau Institute, so he is very important there. She dribbles well, and has an excellent long ranged pass.
Occupation: Psychiatrist
Age: 50 years old
17- Doctor Roger ESPAGUETE: Espaguete is another young doctor that is not famous because of his abilities in medicine, but in his abilities as a footballer. He is a good set pieces taker.
Occupation: General Practitioner
Age: 33 years old
Offensive Midfielders:
8- Doctor Letícia SABIN: personal assistant of Doctor Rogério Landau and fanatic for football, Sabin is the best player of the team. She is very polite and beautiful, and likes to talk (she can't stop talking).
Occupation: Neurologist
Age: 24 years old
11- Doctor Joel NAVARRO: Navarro is hard-working and determinated, and works a lot in the Institute. As a player, he is ferocious and good at starting plays.
Occupation: Gastroenterologist
Age: 52 years old
16- Doctor GEDER Aparecido Cruz: Geder is completely naive. The other doctors easily deceive him, and he has many problems because of that. When he is playing, he is excellent in aerial balls.
Occupation: Rheumatologist
Age: 36 years old
Attackers:
9- Doctor Bernardo MATOSO: a real footballer, Matoso has an excellent positioning and finishing, being dangerous inside the area. As an doctor, Matoso has great talent, and is improving with speed.
Occupation: Pulmonologist
Age: 25 years old
10- Professor Luís Fernando CADETE: was called up because he created the idea of a team composed of doctors. He is an average player, and good at long ranged shots. As a doctor, is nearly retired.
Occupation: Neurologist
Age: 76 years old
18- Doctor Marcelo TOSTÃO: blind of his right eye, Tostão is good at computers and in dribbling his opponents. In the Institute, the most famous doctors despise him, and he doesn't like this situation.
Occupation: Anesthesist
Age: 44 years old
19- Doctor Lara SCHOPPE: the most athletic of the players, but not too good in the field. In tougher games, she can be a good option, as she is resistent. She prepares the other players too.
Occupation: Physiatrist
Age: 39 years old
Coach: THE MACHINE: The Machine is a machine that analyzes the game, sees the best places to attack or the weakest links of the teams and gives orders to the players through earphones.

Background Detail: The teams that will play in Estresse Intenso probably won't go outside the Landau Insitute. Outside the Institute (located in an enormous island in the capital city, Insanis) life is difficult, and the anarchists got the control of the country. The president and governors have no authority, and the police doesn't make nothing. The people can make whatever they want, so criminality is a real problem, and gangs fight for the control of the best places of the cities. There are lots of office buildings, that have their own security (to fight the gangs). Inside the office buildings, people work in exchange of shelter and food. They have to work nearly 16 hours per day. The work is extremely tough, and most of the workers become crazy, succumbing to the stress. These people go to the Landau Institute, to be treated by Landau's doctors. A much better place to live. The Landau Institute is more modern than the other parts of the country and has extreme security and good life conditions. Unfortunately for the patients, they don't have much freedom there. They have to take strong medicines and have to follow a strict routine. The doctors have the political power there, and are trying to help the patients. The leader of the Landau Institute is Doctor Rogério Landau. Inside the Institute, people receive food, can have fun and can get some assistance for everything, without having to make nothing. The players and staff of the visitor teams will have the same rights, but will have to follow the Institute's routine (without having to take medicines).
So, this would be the division of the society:
Outside the Institute:
Upper Classes: Office Buildings Presidents and Gang Leaders
Middle-Upper Classes: Government leaders (including the president), Office Buildings directors and famous gang members
Middle Classes: Government members, Office Buildings representatives and gang members
Middle-Lower Classes: Office Buildings workers and gang recruits
Lower Classes: Free people and crazy people (not in the Institute)
Inside the Institute:
Upper Classes: Doctor Rogério Landau and his main assistants (professors)
Middle-Upper Classes: Doctors
Middle Classes: Nurses and students
Middle-Lower Classes: Patients
Lower Classes: Hired workers
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stadiums Used: Estresse Intenso has only one stadium inside the Landau Institute:
The Sector-Delta Sporting Field, in Insanis: located in a special basement inside the Landau Institute, the Sector-Delta Sporting Field is an excellent field, perfect for football. The patients don't have access to the field, only the players, staff and the referee. The supporters need to watch the game by a giant television screen located in a special room.
Not affected by climate changes
Has no capacity (the special room is giant, and can hold 200,000,000 people)

About Rejistania:
Rejistania is a tropical country well-known for its rainforrests, its ethical diversity, its beaches and its corruption ("Hakim'ymeti, xen'eha nilna" as rejistanis would say to this fact with a smile). The rejistanian capital Sike is the smallest city in the nation (normally a settlement that small would be called a village, but the government felt that was unappropriate for the capital). The cities where qualification matches will most likely take place are rather big, crowded and noisy. And like in most Asian cities you might feel illiterate there because many writing systems co-exist in Rejistania. To get from A to B in Rejistanian cities, you should take the "etju" (public transport, can refer to busses and metros). Rejistanian hotels which call themsselves "vidjeti" (=budget) should be avoided unless you do not mind sharing rooms with strangers toilets and showers for the entire story and similar 'luxury'. The rejistani currency is the lil'kansu (plural: lil'kansu'ny). 1300 lil'kansu are worth one US-Dollar. Yes, rejistani sales taxes are nearly 100%, it is the only tax, Rejistania has.
Rejistania is a relatively free nation. You can follow your religion if you do not harm people with it. You can insult the first lentine (which is the head of state) if you happen to know its name (the fact that the first lentine changes nearly on monthly basis does not help this), marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and many psychodelic mushrooms are legal. Va'karela'ny are legal on private ground if they do not affect adjecent property. Ymeti (also known as bribe or bakshish) is the typical way to deal with small problems with officials.

Kiryu-shi
28-05-2007, 16:11
World Cup Preview; The Second Time Around
By Michio Hibbert, Illustrations By David Reyes.
Fauxhan, Bazalonia Kiryu-shi ended their initial international experiene with a heart wrenching, penalty kick shootout loss in the Cup of Harmony finals against Bostopia, but gained valuable experience battling some of the top teams in the world, and, according to the latest rankings, are considered to be the 46th best team. Although many Kiryu-shi fans are excited that they are being acknowledged by the international football community, there is a feeling that 46th doesn’t mean too much, since only 32 teams can qualify into the World Cup proper. Although the Kiryu-shi Football Alliance has shown no indications that the rankings were in any way unsatisfactory, they certainly don’t seem content to settle for another appearance in the Cup of Harmony. The KFA, along with head coach Bruce Lewis, who has become something of a national hero, have redoubled the training of the Kiryu-shi football team, with the entire squad living on the campus of Sakaino University, which will also be their home stadium again, to train since the end of their run at the Cup of Harmony. None of the players expressed any interest in playing club football, although rumors have been circulating that the KFA might want to send players abroad to play high-level club football for some of the more prestigious leagues in the world. However, any such developments will not happen until after this World Cup has ended.
____Bruce Lewis once again has full control over the roster and training of the entire national team, and over the two years since the last World Cup, he has maintained a steady hand over the development of his players. With no roster changes, the strategy for Lewis’s team will probably be very familiar to die-hard Kiryu-shi fans. The center three defenders, the core of the entire team, will be accountable for keeping the opponents off the scoreboard, as well as soaking up attacks down the middle. The attack will most often launch down the sides, utilizing the wing midfielders as well as the side full backs in order to get the ball in front of the net for the single forward to try and score. Although it is more of a defensive overall strategy, Kiryu-shi usually did not have trouble scoring a goal or two against most teams. One of the major criticisms that Lewis received in the last World Cup was about the conspicuous lack of strong bench play. Starters often looked tired by the end of the match, and by the end of the Cup of Harmony, many players were worn down just by the amount of games they had played. With the Baptism of Fire, World Cup Qualifyers, and the Cup of Harmony, most Kiryu-shi starters had started and played all of 30 international matches. Bruce Lewis has assured that although the opening lineup will be the same, he will be more flexible experimenting with various starters with the confidence he now has in his backup players.
____Although there was some concern before and during the cup last year about what the KFA about the inability to provide the team with the specially designed kits that they had planned to use in international play, the plain black and uniforms have grown incredibly popular within Kiryu-shi, and thus, the KFA has decided not to alter the uniforms in any way.
____Although Sakaino University’s stadium only holds around 21 thousand fans, the pristine condition and the intimate feel of the stadium were enough for the KFA to keep international football held there. The local winery businesses were very happy for the visiters to the pleasant South Western area of Kiryu-shi, and they are looking forward to another World Cup to boost their revenues a bit.

The projected starters a:
GK
Jon Crow (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/crow.jpg)-#1-6’3”-24 years old
The eccentric goalkeeper of Kiryu-shi is known for his whacky hair and spindly, flexible body. He has great instinct as a keeper, but still has difficulty with proper positioning. Although he was showing signs of improving during the Cup of Harmony, he is still not as alert as a starting keeper should be. His physical talent can make up for it in many cases, but a good striker can often find the back of the net easier than they should be able to.
DF
Matthew Pruet (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/pruett.jpg)-#3-5’11”-29 years old
One of the most solid defenders on the team, he takes charge of the defensive line from the center-back position. Pruet aggressively clears loose balls inside the penalty area and has a strong and accurate kick. He has never been a fast player, and as he gets older, he might lose another step or two. However, as long as he plays in position, which he normally does, he should still be a very effective part of the team. He is still co-captain and is a valuable leader for many of the players.
Bob Moya (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/goya.jpg)-#5-6’2”-26 years old
A terrific one on one defender, he is often used to neutralize star attackers. He is never caught out of position and is very technically sound. However, he is not a tremendously gifted athlete, lacking speed, durability and a strong kick. He is prone to injury, although he often plays through the pain. He stayed healthy during international play his first time around, and hopefully he’ll be able to again. He has been recovering from a lingering hamstring problem, but he is expected to start.
Doug LeBlanc (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/leblanc.jpg)-#2-5’8”-25 years old
What he lacks in knowledge and quick thinking he makes up for in speed and pure athletic ability. He plays especially well with Pruet guiding his actions. He is still the fastest player for Kiryu-shi and has a strong, if not that accurate, kick. He is very loud and passionate, and will be involved in a lot of physical play, accumulating cards but also drawing fouls from the opposing side. His attacking skills are decent, and scored a couple of goals for Kiryu-shi during their tournaments. However, especially when he is not playing with Pruet, he will be caught out of position and will suffer many mental lapses resulting in opposing chances.
Isaac Levi (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/levi.jpg)-#7-5’10”-19 years old
The youngest starter on Kiryu-shi’s squad, his ability to move the ball up the sidelines is key in the team’s wing-oriented strategy. He showed impressive ability in intercepting passes and ball-handling., as well as impressive growth passing the ball and maturing as a player. He had six assists in the World Cup and Cup of Harmony after a very quiet Baptism of Fire. He still has some stamina issues, although he has been working hard in the weight room to boost his endurance and conditioning. He still can be knocked off the ball in some one on one battles. Lacks scoring and shooting ability. He is one of the faster sprinters on the team. He also has extremely good distance and accuracy on his throws, and will take most of the throws from his side.
Sidney Hendrickson (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/hendrickson.jpg)-#12-5’11-24 years old
Originally an attacking midfielder, his talents stealing the ball made it obvious to move him to the defensive line, where he is one of the key parts of Kiryu-shi’s team. He is fast and very effective on the outside, and is never hurt. He has a scoring touch, and is effective as an offensive weapon dashing into the box from the wing. Can beat certain defenders one on one with his quick feet. He lacks a strong kick and plays balls in the air very poorly. Plays up and down the field, and is well-conditioned. Coach Lewis has hinted that, after gathering only four assists and no goals during the last competitions, he will be encouraged to move up more often this World Cup.
MF
Gregory Iverson (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/iverson.jpg)-#15-6’4”-20 years old
A surprise starter last time around in the defensive midfield, he is a favorite of the coach due to his meticulous preparation and imposing size, and is also quickly become a favorite with the fans for the same reasons. Although he is not especially skilled in any one area, and is probably the slowest starting player, his size and strength are intimidating in the middle of the field. He can pass and receive passes well, and has a hard kick. Will take long shots once in a while. Is effective on corner kicks, using his height and strength to get good positioning. He is very respected by his teammates, and has been predicted by some that with maturity, might be able to develop into the eventual captain of the national team. He’s scored four goals in international play.
Pat Mayberry (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/mayberry.jpg)-#8-5’11”-27 years old
The most well-known player on Kiryu-shi’s national team, is unquestionably the best all-around player from his right side half-back position. He can dominate matches at times, using his speed and awareness to create opportunities to score for his team. He holds his own defensively. His accurate and strong passes from the wing can create goals. He can beat defenders one on one with his quick feet. He is not that big, and can be out-muscled at times. When he is really focused, he seems to be able to take the ball up the side, penetrate into the penalty area and score at will in league matches. He never takes set pieces. He is co-captain of the national team, and leads the team with 17 goals and is second on the team with nine assists.
Giancario Diamanti (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/diamanti.jpg)-#20-5’11-21 years old
He showed some of the most growth during the tournaments last time, finally showing some of the promise that had made him into a child prodigy in Kiryu-shi. He has yet to develop the explosiveness and awareness that Mayberry possesses, although he is technically very sound, and will rarely make an outright mistake. He created a few opportunities in the World Cup qualifiers and Cup of Harmony, finishing with five goals and two assists. He needs to be more aggressive on the pitch. He rarely takes the ball away from opponents, but can stall them. He is now a solid starter for the national team.
Hellen Gandy (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/gandy.jpg)-#9-5’6”-25 years old
Led the team in assists with her ability to dictate the pace of the attack from her central position. Has very precise and accurate kicks, both passing and shooting. Will take all free kicks within scoring distance for Kiryu-shi, as well as penalty kicks. Despite her size, she has the ability to score on crosses and corners, judging balls in the air very well. She does not have the best speed or ability to dribble past players, but uses positioning and passes to set up goal scoring opportunities. Is a liability defensively, and will rarely help to try to win back the ball. She has been plagued by a few injuries, but goes into qualifying very healthy.
FW
Garret McGee (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/mcgee.jpg)-#11-6’2”-28 years old-The only forward starting for the national team, is known throughout the nation for his acrobatic jumping ability. He plays his position very solidly, and shows the ability to see the whole pitch very well. Has an accurate strike, and has the attacking, shoot-first mentality to make great use of it. He scored 16 goals during international play, many of them coming on crosses from various players. Mayberry loves to find him in front of the net.

All home matches will be in the Union Centre Stadium in Vilvek, a new, and rather large stadium in Swilatia with a seating capacity of 120K people/dwarves/elves/(insert any other humanoid species).
Vilvek is the capital city of Swilatia, and the country's largest city, with 32 million people living in it*. There is a wide variety of hotels in which supporters can stay, ranging from the City Hotel Vilvek, a very luxurious hotel which calls itself "Swilatia's only 6-star hotel", to the cheap hotels with sub-compact rooms.
The city, being founded 3000 years ago, has many differences between its districts, ranging from Stare Miasto, which has buildings from the ancient and middle ages, to East Splarka, a post-modern skyscraper district. The city, like many other Swilatian cities, is surrounded by many smaller cities, although the city can still actually be considered to expand upwards, as shown by the presence of high-rise flat blocks in the city's 3rd ring of districts, the ring in which much of the city's population lives.
*yes, I know that might not be much compared to some of your cities, but I prefer to stay realistic with the populations.

Alasdair I Frosticus
29-05-2007, 04:16
THE HOLY EMPIRE WORLD CUP 35 SQUAD
First, at the request of His Imperial Majesty the Basileus, a piece of media advice:
Please refer to our glorious nation in press reports as 'The Holy Empire', not as 'Alasdair I Frosticus' (or worse, AIF) - the former is the name of the nation, the latter is the name of our ruler the Basileus. Informal use of the adjective 'Frostican' is, however, acceptable.
The Squad
This year, for reasons best known to itself, the Holy Empire Football Association has taken a radical new approach to the national football squad. Using advanced oneirological science, they have fused the bodies of professional footballers with figures from the footballing and historical pasts of other realities. It remains unclear whether these are the real original historical figures, or whether the oneirologists involved have merely somehow captured the spirit thereof.
Either way, this is to a certain extent the Dreamed Realm equivalent of misguided mad genetic testing, and may be unpopular with both local and foreign fans.
Frosty Football is attacking football. The Holy Empire will be playing a 3-5-2 formation with overlapping wingers, often leading to a 3-3-4 formation when in possession. Style +3
The Coach:
Professor Theodore Vonmadscientisto - The man responsible for the 'fusion' team. He speaks with a thick German accent (which is odd, since there are no Germans in the Dreamed Realm), and is prone to maniacal laughter.
Assistant Coach:
Igor - A warped hunchback (psychologically warped, that is - there is no hunchbackist discrimination in the Holy Empire)
The Forwards:
Morton Peto Betts - scorer of the only goal in Wanderer's 1-0 victory over the Royal Engineers in the first FA Cup final in 1872.
Alan Belmore - In 124 matches over 25 years this NationStates World Cup legend scored 87 goals clocking up 37% of the Belmore Family's total from World Cup 5 to World Cup 13.
The Midfield:
Ernesto 'Che' Guevara - Internationally famous left-winger well known for his radical - dare we say revolutionary - approach.
Socrates - Chain-smoking left-of centre Brazilian doctor - and captain of Brazil's 1982 and 1986 squads. Was a somewhat controversial inclusion as he is in fact still alive in his reality.
Juan Tzimisces - Recreated in his prime, c. World Cups 2-3. It wouldn't be a Holy Empire team without him.
Socrates - Athenian international whose classical style often asks searching questions of the opposing defence.
Urk - Giant Zucchini legend and the greatest sentient vegetable in the history of the NationStates World Cup.
The Defence:
Robert Nesta Marley - Loose-limbed Jamaican left-back who plays to his own distinctive rhythm.
Ludwig Wittgenstein - Philosophical central defender whose constant inquiry into the interpretation of the rules often frustrates referees.
Basil II 'The Bulgar-Slayer' - Imperious Byzantine defender whose uncompromising approach often intimidates his opponents - who can forget his 10th-century annihilation of the Bulgarian national side?
In Goal:
An Egg - Quirky World Cup legend whose brittleness is some concern. As is the sheer idiocy of placing a small inanimate object in goal. This is, after all, quite literally an egg. Still, his yolky goodness should provide a healthy half-time snack once the first opposing free kick breaks his shell. Vonmadscientisto bought a dozen at the supermarket last week, so a different egg will be fielded in each qualifying match.
Substitutes:
Goal:
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Portsmouth FC's occasional late 19th-century goalkeeper can deduce the cause of the most intractable goal. Will almost always replace An Egg in the first 5 minutes of the match given the latter's fragility.
Midfield/Defence:
Fridjof Nansen - Norwegian Humanitarian who often explores new ground on the field of play.
Forward:
St. Alexander Nevsky - Master Tactician who single-handedly destroyed the Prussian defence at Lake Peipus in 1242AD despite the appalling conditions."
Kits:
(home left, away right)
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/HolyEmpire.png
Travel to the Holy Empire:
The Holy Empire, along with the Archregimancy, is one of two nations in the Dreamed Realm. Direct travel between your reality and the Realm is impossible, and must take place through a portal, constructed by Imperial oneirologists some 48 hours before kick-off, and demolished 24 hours after kickoff. For the first time since World Cup 7, fans from visiting teams are to be allowed unrestricted travel within the Holy Empire, subject to the time restrictions just described. Up to 10,000 travelling fans will be permitted into the nation for each match.
While the Holy Empire prides itself on its world benchmark civil liberties, violent behaviour by visiting fans will not be tolerated. Anyone engaging in what HEFA officials consider to be disruptive behaviour shall be immediately dreamed back to their home nation.
All home qualifiers shall take place at the 100,000 capacity Imperial Hippodrome, within the walls of the Imperial City of Alasdairopolis, adjacent to the Great Palace and the Imperial Basilica of the Holy Wisdom. The Imperial City is probably quite unlike anything you've encountered before - an ancient description from a wandering monk follows:
We went on to a city of indescribable beauty. Its walls were built of twelve courses, each of a different precious stone, and its gates were of gold and silver. Within the gates we found a golden pavement, golden houses, golden seats. The city was filled with a strange light and a sweet smell. At the edge of the town we came to a wonderful palace, and we entered a hall as broad as a stone's throw. From one end of it to the other stretched a table of porphyry round which many guests were reclining. A spiral staircase, situated at one end of the hall, led to an internal balcony. Two eunuchs, resplendent as lightning, appeared at this balcony, and indicated that we too were to join the guests at the table....
Note that any attempt to remove gems and precious metals from the Holy Empire will fail unless said items are an official gift; all such items removed unofficially will turn to base metal and glass once they leave the Dreamed Realm.
If my opponent RPs first, he may:
Do more or less whatever he wants within an appropriate RP context except attack, make war upon, or otherwise physically harm the Dreamed Realm.

The Archregimancy
29-05-2007, 07:30
THE ARCHREGIMANCY'S WORLD CUP 35 SQUAD
Gospodi Pomilui!
By now everyone should know that the Archregimancy is a nation of Orthodox monks - as in Eastern Orthodox Christian (Greek, Russian, Antiochian, etc....) - right?
SQUAD
The Monastic Football Association has reverted to the use of an anonymous starting XI, a tactic that served the nation well in World Cups 30 & 31. It's hard to scout an anonymous team, after all...
However, sharp-eyed citizens of Ariddia, Bazalonia and Errinundera may recognise three of these anonymous players: native Ariddian Fr. Innocent of Ariddia (forward); native Bazalonian Fr. Barsanuphius the Strong (midfield); and native Errinunderan - and former genderqueer owiavi - Br. David of the Woods (goal). In an RP context, it is unlikely that nations without some sort of connection to the football of these three listed nations would recognise these players.
Attempting to undermine the MFA's anonymity approach by trying to find out the identity of players is a legitimate, permitted, and indeed encouraged RP approach for other nations. If you do take this approach, please make sure that all monks' first names that you come up with are those of male Orthodox saints. If you're uncertain of what these might be, try the 'feasts and saints' section of the Orthodox Church in America web page (http://www.oca.org/FSIndex.asp?SID=4) (helpfully linked). You can always ask me if you're uncertain.
COACH:
The legendary - and apparently ageless - Juan Tzimisces, star of the Holy Empire's midfield from World Cups 1-4, and coach of the Imperial squad on and off from World Cups 25-34. He's now jumped ship to the Archregimancy. His unmonastic temper and gambling habit remain intact, but he otherwise remains a good son of the Church, and as an Orthodox layperson has been asked to attempt to lead the team into at least the quarterfinals.
STYLE – All Archregimancy teams play an orthodox 4-4-2 (+0)
Kit:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/33squad.jpg
The team is always accompanied to matches by the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, which shall be paraded before the team before all home and away qualifiers. The Holy Icon looks like:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/theotokos_of_nicopeia2.jpg
Tips for footballing visitors to the Archregimancy:
1) Each home match is preceded by the complete Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Rest assured that this should only require visiting teams, fans, and officials to stand for a mere 2 hours before kickoff. Consider yourselves lucky we don't use the Liturgy of St. Basil.
2) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Archregimancy home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated. Any such behaviour will find those responsible immediately transported back to ordinary physical reality.
3) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Archregimancy, a team of monks shall arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Archregimancy at your leisure.
4) A maximum of 10,000 visiting supporters shall be permitted into the Archregimancy for each qualifying match.
5) Women are not usually permitted into the Archregimancy. Exceptions will be made for visiting players and properly accredited officials - largely because we have to - but not for visiting supporters.
6) Formerly, the Archregimancy made a point of being resentful of being forced to permit atheists, communists, freemasons, assorted heretics and foul excelites into the Archregimancy for home qualifiers. Changes in leadership in the Monastic Football Association, however, mean the MFA has made a point of welcoming all of the above – though largely in the hope that might just possibly be open to conversion through a slightly more conciliatory approach. Not that the MFA approves of the above, they’re just more subtle about it. And individual residents of the Archregimancy are increasingly in disagreement with the MFA's 'welcoming toleration' policy; be warned that unofficial outbursts may result.

Northern Bettia World Cup 35 Squad
Style Modifier
We don't do defence - we trash defence.
Northern Bettia play in a standard 4-4-2 formation - due to their infamous tactics however, a maximum style modifier (+3) would be most appropriate here.
Roleplaying
If RPing first, the FANB (Football Association of Northern Bettia)
give our opponents permission to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like.
Given our 'unorthodox' tactics, there will be red and yellow cards aplenty.
Northern Bettian fans are notorious hooligans, with their main gang being
called the Yuna Crew. Opposition players, supporters and police can expect trouble.
Nickname: The Fire Ants
First Kit: Amber shirts with a black sash, black shorts
Second Kit: Sky blue shirts with a dark blue sash, dark blue shorts
National Stadium: Sakura Park, Anyuna (capacity 75,000 - approx 35,000 seated)
Although rather basic by modern standards, Sakura Park can still produce a match to remember for fans. Nestled in the eastern suburbs of the capital city, Sakura Park has large banks of terracing at either end with all-seater grandstands lining the two sides.
A few facts about Northern Bettia:
Northern Bettians are well-known for their rowdiness and drunkeness, especially the feared Yuna Crew, a gang of hardcore hooligans who continually aim to make a name for themselves as the hardest firm in the NS-world (usually without much success).
Northern Bettia is environmentally a bit of a mess, with the interim government more concerned with bolstering miltary strength than cleaning up. A number of Northern Bettia's sporting teams are made up of military personnel who play football part-time, as are a few of the Fire Ants squad.
Northern Bettians love football so much that giant screens are now a permanent fixture in many cities and towns.
Some interesting and not-so-interesting facts about Northern Bettia can be found at the Northern Bettia Wiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Northern_Bettia)
Manager:
Iwan Obani
A shrewd, calculating character who instilled into his squad a unique tactic of bending the rules at every opportunity, making the Fire Ants as difficult to play against as possible.
Team Tactics:
The Fire Ants employ a rather unique tactic in which they attempt to gain the upper hand by getting as many of their opponents sent off as possible, leading many to accuse the Fire Ants of being a right bunch of bloody cheats. Hacking, diving, feigning injury, all sorts of ref-conning activity - Northern Bettia have quickly turned dirty play into a fine art. This style of play, dubbed System Obani by inept tabloid journalists, has had mixed results in the past - it sometimes works well, but when it backfires, it backfires spectacularly (hence the style modifier).
Goalkeepers:
1. Jon Ozeki - Heart of Anyuna, age 31 - 65 caps
After initial competition for a spot in the first team, Ozeki has more or less made the number one jersey his own, thanks mainly to his tall stature and dominant prescence in the penalty area. An ever-present for the Fire Ants in the last two World Cups.
2. Mick Segawa - Sharluta Strike, age 25, 0 capsA consistant goalkeeper who is usually described as 'a safe pair of hands'. For the first time in ages, Ozeki has a rival for the number one jersey.
Defence:
3. Sgt. Harry Wakishi - First Battalion FC, age 23, 0 capsThis battle-hardened sergeant is as big and tough (and as ugly) as they come. With his intimidating size and permanent bad mood, you wouldn't want to mess with this one.
4. Wing Sgt. Yanni Negima - BAF Agetegri, age 27 - 13 caps
Negima is your typical tough-tackling full-back. His crunching tackles have left many a striker in a crumpled heap on the floor. You have been warned...
5. Mick Sunikono - Heart of Anyuna, age 22, 0 capsA real terrier in defence, Sunikono will dog any opposing strikers. A proven ball-winner at club level, thanks partly to his expert timing with his tackles, and thanks partly to using every sly trick in the book to get his opponent off the ball.
6. Flt. Lt. Sofo Kalafashi - BAF Agetegri, age 19, 0 capsYoung Sofo is a rare talent indeed - he prefers to use his brain to outdo the opposition instead of his brawn.
7. Alan Gotaro - Agetegri Blast, age 24, 0 capsThe son of Northern Bettia's most famous soprano (yes, believe it or not there IS some culture in Northern Bettia), Gotaro is hoping he'll hit all the right notes on the world scene. If only he were a good a singer as his mum...
8. Bobby Maehara - Fearless Minini, age 19, 0 capsA bright young prospect in the same tough-tackling mould as Yanni Negima, but even more thuggish. Surprisingly enough, he's the only member of the squad with a criminal record, having spent six months doing porridge for GBH.
Midfield:
9. Dan Kyobu - Fortuna Bettialis (Bettia), age 28 - 67 caps, 14 goals (captain)
A young midfield dynamo who's quite handy at both setting up goals from the centre or pushing forward and knocking a few goals in for himself, usually from free kicks. Another speciality of his seems to be baiting his opponents into saying or doing something they shouldn't, usually right in front of the match officials. His vast experience as the team's inspirational playmaker has seen him take over the captain's armband.
10. Flt. Lt. Ben Sanae - BAF Agetegri, age 26 - 31 caps
A flyboy in every sense, this young flight lieutenant loves the ladies, and they love him. Flamboyant, skillful and pacy. He also won't think twice of flying straight down onto the ground - in other words, he's an expert in the time-honoured art of referee-deceiving.
11. Frank Seguna - Karia Sharks, age 23 - 10 caps
This bright young left-winger saw himself move into the international frame during World Cup 34 after producing some solid performances for his club, and those performances has seen him claim a starting spot for this tournament.
12. Jon Sakasayou - Minini City, age 25 - 52 caps, 1 goal
An amazingly quick young right winger whose sheer speed has made many teams home and abroad sit up and take notice. He's been officially timed at 10.5 seconds over 100 metres. A major asset on any squad. However, he has often been the target of many card-happy referees.
13. Tun Akani - Takilans Anyuna, age 26 - 7 caps
A natually gifted player who's equally at home on either flank or in the centre, a versatile trait that sees him become an important part of this squad, albeit mostly as a substitute.
14. Stu Kaola - Raging Bulls Anyuna, age 16, 0 capsThe youngest of the Fire Ants debutants, and it has to be he's a bit of a livewire. Once he gets the ball, he puts his abundance of energy to good use by charging up and down the pitch and creating a shedload of goalscoring chances. His practical jokes tend to rub opponents up the wrong way, which will probably serve the Fire Ants controversial system very well indeed.
Forwards:
15. Ola Hiyashibara - Akani Sands (Bettia), age 27 - 69 caps, 48 goals
An exciting young striker whose skills have recently earned him a move to the Bettian Apex League. Quick and agile with a deadly right foot, Hiyashibara has already proven himself to be a top-class goalscorer. Hiyashibara was the Fire Ants top scorer in World Cup 33, and will be hard pushed not to repeat that success
16. Naru Sonata - Fearless Minini, age 20 - 8 caps, 1 goal
A surprise selection in every sense of the word, not least of all being the first woman to represent any Bettian squad in international competition, something that had the religious leaders in the Blessed Realm a bit rattled. Quick, agile and incredibly cute, she's found that she's quite adept at charming the referee into giving decisions her way (although she's no Dazza Dallas - sorry lads!).
17. Taro Sunichi - Minini Shockwaves, age 27 - 7 caps
A feared goalpoacher on the domestic scene, Sunichi will be looking to make an impression on the goalscoring charts both at home and abroad.
18. Dan Shinobu - Tamako Hawks, age 17, 0 capsA quietly spoken young striker who prefers to let his feet to the talking, whether it's striking the ball for all it's worth, or kicking lumps out of any opoosing defender who is unfortunate enough to linger on the ball too long.

Firstly, the regular squad - which is the same as our BoF 22 squad:
01. Georgo FARRUGIA, goal (starter)
02. Aleksandro LOPEZ, defence (starter)
03. Nikolao O'SULLIVAN, defence (starter)
04. Paulo ROSSI, defence (starter)

12. Johano OLSEN, defence (reserve)
13. Jozefo NOVAK, midfield (reserve)
14. Jakobo LARSEN, striker (reserve)
We also have some players from the nation of Christleton joining us:
15. James ROTTWEILER
16. Phil MCGRUNDY
17. Jack LAFONTAINE
18. David OLDRY
19. Akhein GURLUKOVICH
20. Chris DELAY
21. Mark MANSON
22. Paul DOLLENDART
23. Fred HUMPHREY
No positions are given for these additional players. The Ambassador from Christleton to Kuosio explains this as follows:
"Our style of football is a little different here in Christleton; we train all of our players to be equally good at every position. Since there are very few people who can do this, there are fewer players overall, but the players that exist are extremely talented and adaptable."
Hence, RPers may place the players on loan from Christleton in any situation in the match, regardless of what they have done before. Christleton's players will generally begin as reserves on the Kuosian team, though it is expected that they will play in most matches.
Worthy of note is that our goalkeeper, Georgo FARRUGIA, was named Player of the Tournament in Baptism of Fire 22, and that Vilhelmo SCHNEIDER and Ludoviko KOWALSKI were both also featured in the Baptism of Frost All-Star Squad.
The Kuosian team plays moderately defensive, style modifier -1.

Note about yellow and red cards - the Kuosian team trys to play a clean game at all times; yellow cards may be handed out without too much issue (we all make mistakes, after all), but red cards would need a good story to go with them.

*Located in the heart of Assegai’s capital, Leá Monde (which was also the capital of Losstarot), refurbished Cathedral Park remains the Jewel of Assegai’s Football stadiums, now with an increased capacity of 75,000. The Great Cathedral, built during the first era of the Kingdom of Losstarot, was nearly devastated during the invasion from Turruth Gordur. Repaired and brought back to its former magnificence, the Great Cathedral serves as the main concourse for Cathedral Park. Football fans that walk in through its main gates will marvel at the fine tapestries and stained glass windows adorning the Great Cathedral.

After stumbling in the NSWC XXXIV qualifiers, longtime Assegai Developments Manager Sir Knight Edgard Zúniga turned in his resignation. Now, under the guidance of legendary Elves Security Forces player Zacharius, the Riskbreakers enter the NSWC XXXV qualifiers armed with a younger, resilient team starting 11 and a mix of newcomers and experienced veterans on the bench. As always, the desire of Assegai Developments is to continue climbing up the world rankings and establish itself as one of Nation States’s world footballing powers.

Turruth Gordur… has made a name for itself for our brutal style of play that combines bruising defense and powerful attack. After suffering through two unproductive qualifiers, we feel Turruth Gordur is ready to spread our darkness to the World Cup.

Player Profiles
Ben Foster
A very experienced keeper from the lower leagues, captained Cërë Phoenixes to the final of the QFA Cup and was denied the lifting the trophy by a suspect penalty decision. A competent keeper and a strong leader expect the defenders to get a earful if they slack up.
Position: Goalkeeper
Age: 29
Club: Cërë Phoenixes
John Campbell
A one man wall, although not quick on his feet not many players can get past the giant that is Mr. John Campbell. Unfortuanatly his style of defence can lead to more yellow cards than normal though he rarely gets sent off. Surely to be a strong presence in the back four.
Position: Defender
Age: 23
Club: Fratton F.C.
Richard Cruise
A former Premiership player who left his club at the end of his contract in disgust at the control manager's had over the players, the only one in the squad with previous expierience at the international level. A fan favourite but his form of late has people questioning his starten eleven status.
Position: Defender
Age: 26
Club: Tyndall Athletic
Jeremy Stark
A man who proves that defenders can have flair, his inspired runs down the pitch have given his team some very valuable goals. Unfortunalty his brilliance is also his downfall, his runs can leave the defence vulnerable and open to attack. Against stiff competition in the World Cup his style may weaken the team as a whole.
Position: Defender
Age: 23
Club: Embley Park
Richard Watt
The oldest player on the team and has played under Davies at club level and is used to his style, and solid defender and can move up the wing to support and attack but can track back quickly when needed so his absence is not noticed. Will work well as captain leading from the back and can expect respect from the rest of team.
Position: Defender
Age: 29
Club: Cërë Phoenixes
Stephen Kojak
A swift man on the wing can leave defenders and midfielder's in his dust, unfortuanatly can burn himself out and is a might unpredictable. When on form he can be a force to be reckoned with, however when off form can be more of a hindrance than a help.
Position: Midfielder
Age: 22
Club: Fratton F.C.
Greg Richards
An experienced man in the middle and should perform well with his teammate Simmonds, and defensive midfielder who should be able to cover the midfield when the team pushes up. A safe choice from Davies and should add some stabilty to the team in its infancy.
Position: Midfielder
Age: 27
Club: Cërë Phoenixes
Trevor Simmonds
A solid man in midfield and shows Davies' intentions for this world cup, as Simmonds generally plays a defending midfielder and along with Greg Richards should from a solid defensive core in the midfield. Can set up opportunities and can see ahead and deliver a crucial pass when needed.
Position: Midfielder
Age: 24
Club: Cërë Phoenixes
Krieg Kennedy
An important player in the squad Kennedy can turn a game on its head with a clever run and a pinpoint perfect cross, should be able to hold his own on the international stage. His only downfall is his passion can overide his common sense which can lead to show downs with the referee and the referee is generally the winner. If he can keep his passion in check he should prove a key player.
Position: Midfielder
Age: 29
Club: Portchester Town
David Alston
If you haven't heard of this man you must have been out the of country for the past three months and cut off from all media. The man who has quit his Premiership club and is sueing the P.L.A.M. for damages and is seeking a criminal case against the P.L.A.M. for restricting the freedom's of players in Qutar's top league. In addition to being the man thousands are rallying behind he's a top class forward and should support Cartwright well as well as getting a few goals himself.
Position: Forward
Age: 21
Club: None
Richard Cartwright
A bright young talent who's spend most of his career in Nebuleux, but don't doubt his passion and dedication to The Islands of Qutar apparently when he got the phone call telling of his place in the national team he went running around the neighbourhood whooping loudly, unfortunately he'd just got out the shower to answer to call. Watch out for this player he could very well show himself as the next Ali or Armaos.
Position: Forward
Age: 20
Club: Richerenches

With Ulzaxidians not having names in a traditional sense, nor having football in the traditional sense, all players have copied names from famous footballers to name the squad, hence the names. By studying the list of hall of fame players it seems that strikers are more important hence the 1-3-6 formation.

Special Notes about Ulzaixds:
They aren't human or from earth. In other words they are aliens. And strange ones at that. A full Ulzaxid is made up of five different organisms morphed together. The five component parts are organisms similiar to a monkey, dolphin with gills, an eagle, a ferret and a slime mold. In full on form they are very large, fast, strong and dangerous. With claws and wings for flight. Fortunately they won't be using such full morphs during the competition. But rather smaller versions. All morphs contain at least the slime which can secrete an enzyme which allows them to morph together. They can morph with any organism, so if they are under attack at home matches will do so in self-defense. And considering they could kick the crap out of people anyways, I'd recommend against starting trouble in Ulzaxid. Ulzaxid stadiums are specially constructed to have special seating areas for each of the base organisms as well as morphs. So there are eagles sitting on poles above the field, a special pool area for dolphins and so on. The slime molds are telepathic so the coach and team don't make any noise during matches. At away matches the spectators will also be completely silent. At home matches the base forms of eagle, ferret, monkey and dolphin will make noise.
Clearly such a species won't be defecting to other countries. If you are interested in having a player of fan morph together with an Ulzaxid that might be possible. TG me. Other than that no one will be coming to Ulzaxid as a defectee. All Ulzaxids can brain share so they can all speak English or any other language as necessary. So anyone is availabe for interviews.
