I would like to ask if anyone would be interested in a Caper/Heist RP involving elaborate theft. If so, specify the kind of character you'd like play. It should say whether they are a detective, one of the thieves, the one who owns the money, ect. If we get enough people, then I'll post the RP.

Hey could we rob Hugh Heffners casino? I could be a real bunny with a gun...

Hmm...if you still need a detective, I can probably handle that slot. Considering I've got a mess of free time coming up (School ends...umm...tomorrow. So it's just finals, and that means a lot of free time punctuated by moments of sheer panic....) I can probably fit this in along with my other, ah-hem, obligations.

Plus, it's been a while since I've run a good hard-bitten cop character. Eh-heh-heh.

Its really your call Shal. I have no problem if you wanna be the wheel woman, I could suggest a number of fun rides appropriate for the situation. If you decide to stick to a gun bunny, I think this would be the perfect time to introduce that driver concept you and I were speaking about.

Guys, it's mostly going to be a heist like in the three movies I mentioned. It's not going to be a "stickup", or a bank robbery. It will involve cunning, planning, and genius. There MAY be gunfire in it, but mostly by the cops. "Rule number 1: never carry a gun, you carry a gun you might be tempted to use it" -Sean Connery aka. MacDoogle from Entrapment.
The Parkus Empire

If you are looking for postions, here are a list of some possible ideas:

Engineer: This person would regulate physical problems, and would probably use a blowtorch and stuff.

Hacker: This person would obviously deal with all the computer problems, and would narrate to the group what's happening via a earpiece.

Funder: The guy who's paying for the heist, and possibly, the mastermind.

Charmer: Someone who can do the talking, and likely distracting.

"Greaseman": The dexterious fellow, like Yen in Ocean's 11.

Insider: The one who works inside where the heist is, and assists the thieves for a cut of the action.

Also someone could play the "victum". The detectives could be anyone, they would simply be the ones trying to catch the thieves like Hector Cruse from Entrapment.

Parkus, can you give us more information on who/what we're robbing.

I've seen every one of those movies, enjoyed them all. On the other hand I am also a fan of Three Thousand Miles to Graceland." and that had lots of gunfire in it, and more double crosses that one can shake a stick at.

I seriously doubt that the first ( or any space travel service ) would have enough cash on hand to make it worth our while - heck your local greyhound branch would have more cash on hand than they would - Most travel arrangements of that sort would be handled by tarvel agents, or ahead of time with credit cards, electronic funds transfer etc - not cash in hand - in fact showi9ng up with cash would probably be a seciruty red flag

Tanara

LOL there are enough real ones to have fun with, but a fictional one might be fun. 007's Casino Royale? ie Monte Carlos famous Casino Monte Carlo

The classic casino in Monte Carlo, just gambling rooms ( public and private ), a five star restraunt, ladies sitting room /lounge and mens smoking room, the various offices and etc associtated with a centuries old and very exclusive establishment.

No hotel attached, no children allowed That way we wouldn't have to wade through herds of screaming kids, or get tripped by little old ladies in polyester. Now viscious little old ladies with fortunes in diamonds around their wattled neck to compliment the couture silks they are wearing is a whole nother matter in Monte Carlo....

Now with American Casinos, shudder, to famlified for me. I'd shoot the place up just to get rid of the kids LOL

Name : Punkin O'Dare (http://www.atddm.com/punkin.html)

Age : 30

Gender : Female

Height : 6' 1"

Weight : 155#

Hair: : Blonde

Eyes : Green * When she's not wearing no correction, just colored contacts.

Position : Insider and deliberately "Inadvertant" Hostage.

BIO ; Punkin was a military brat. Her dad was a Master Gunnery Sergeant at the time of his death. Her mother had died when Punkin was three - Punkin and her brothers followed him from posting to posting. However he, and her brothers all three already in the Marine Coprs, died in a plane crash when Punkin was fifteen.

Her maternal grandmoither took her in and was appalled at Punkins tomboyish ways, especially as Punkin was just then starting to turn from an ugly duckling into a rather full blown swan.

Her gandmother was old fashioned southern belle and the fact that Punkin was raised as if she was a Marine, just wasn't socially acceptable. She could shoot both a pistol and a rifle by age eight, and pass the Marine survival course by age eleven...

Grandmere set out to trun Punkin into a proper lady. She only partially achieved this. Punkin learned how to diussemble to her grandmother, tell her what she wanted to hear. Punkin had no desire to become a Marine, and happily went off to a Ivy League University. Where she rapidly discovered that no one though she had two brain cells to rub together. She proved them wrong but also learned to use her...assets to her best advantage.

She went to the University on scholarships, but earned her mad money by dealing at poker parties, and has since become a professional dealer, has been a show girl - they want them tall and gracefull and she is both - a waitress, a bar tender, a lingere model, a life guard, a tutor, a ball room dance instructor, a pilates instructor, and works intermittently for a translating service...

Name:Unknown, simply goes by "The Driver" (http://www.bmwworld.com/pics/lifestyle/8959_1024.jpg)
Age:~40
Height:6'2"
Weight:215lbs, atheletic build
Eyes:Green
Hair:Brown

There is little to day about The Driver. Simply, he shows up when needed, does his job, and disappears. Many argue that he is not even human, but more of the embody spirit of countless drivers passed on into the afterlife. Only a select few really understand who The Driver is. Those are the same few that know how to contact him.

Lucky is teh fact that he has no overt motive, no real reason to do what he does. If captured, he will say nothing only because he really knows nothing. All that The Driver has is a name and a location. He shows up, discusses the plan, and then does what he does better than anyone else: Drive.

He never drives the same car, for every mission he changes for the most appropriate ride. The getaway vehicle for this specific operation is a Silverstone Silver Metallic E60 M5. Added power croms from a full set of Dinan Individual Throttle Bodies sucking in gobs of fresh air. After the intake, compression, and ingnition process is completed, the air is then dumped out through a set of Evosport headers, and then through a full Meisterschaft exhaust. A custom software map keeps everything in the engine bay inline and working perfectly with the SMGIII seven speed automated gear box. The suspension and brakes, being felt more than adequate for the situation, has been left stock.

There is no official reason that The Driver has been hired on for this run, only to say that influential and faceless investors outside the operation wish to see it suceed. His attitude, therefore, is strictly professional, and he will take little in the way of "bull shit" from the other members of the team. He will always be dressed professionally as well: suit and tie, well polished black shoes, and an Omega watch. The Driver only wears sunglasses when absolutely needed. His natural ability to vanish means he doesn't need to hide his looks.

Name: Roger Rosenburg
Age: 29
Height: 5’10
Hair: Black, clean shaven
Eyes: Blue
Race: German/Jewish American
Weight: 169Lbs
Position: Casino Boss
Bio: Roger was born in the mean streets of New Jersey. He started as a young kid hustling and taking bets against other neighbor kids. Roger was notorious for always winning his bets and almost never losing to his competition. This was primarily do to his knowledge of the facts and his intelligence gathering skills. Roger was always able to figure out little details that would tell him almost every possible outcome of each bet. This gave Roger’s gambling career a huge jump and eventually this little protégé started to make his own book operation. This led to Roger getting involved with the Jersey mob. Roger’s gambling abilities put him in good standing with the Bosses as he paid almost double in tribute to his benefactors to ensure they kept him in business. This eventually lead them to promote Roger to their operations in Las Vegas.

Roger was given a position as Casino manager thanks to his connections to the Jersey mob. Roger now works as a Casino Boss making millions of dollars every night which his shadowy employers skim every month for their own cut in the proceeds. This operation of gaining millions and skimming of the top of the money pile has been going on for several years and has provided Roger with both a personal fortune and a local crew that keeps his casino safe from rival outfits and would be thieves.

Name: Aldo Cappaletti
Age: 23
Height: 6’1
Hair: Black “Slicked back” with a stylish goatee
Eyes: Green
Race: Italian/American
Weight: 198Lbs
Position: Capo of the Maggolzetti Crew
Weapons: Beretta 93R, brass knuckles, Louisville slugger baseball bat, and a switch blade
Bio:

Aldo and Roger go way back in the streets of Jersey. Aldo use to be Roger’s collection agent. If someone refused to honor their debts to Roger and the mob Aldo would make them think twice before they decided to make their decision final on not paying up. Aldo is a hot tempered and violent individual with a brutal demeanor. He has a long rap sheet in Jersey from everything from loan sharking to extortion and even some drug trafficking. Aldo was sent to Las Vegas by his Boss to protect the skim profits and to ensure no one messes with Roger and his money making operation. Aldo also has his entire crew down in Vegas protecting Roger’s casino from rival crews and any would be thieves that would try and get to the underground vault containing several million dollars worth of items ranging from gold bars to suitcases of hundred dollar bills…

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 185 lbs.
Hair: Slick and Black
Eyes: Small and Brown
Position: Charmer

BIO: Giovanni grew up in Messina, Sicliy, as the illegitimate son of a gangster and a prostitute. Never knowing his family made him very self-sufficient and independent. He decided, as so many before him had, to attempt to leave and start a new life in America. To his surprise and disbelief, however, New York City was just as bad, if not worse than, Italy. He ended up resuming his old life of talking his and others' ways out of crimes, not to mention distracting the victims of such crimes from the current situation.

Alright, here they are, your stellar engineers. Don't mess with their stuff, it just might mess back, in big, incendiary methods.

Explosives:
Name: Richard Bucklyn
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175 lbs
Hair: Brown, buzz cut
Eyes: Green
Age: 28
Bio: He spent his childhood growing up with his big brother, and trying to outdo him at all turns. After graduating high school, he enrolled in the Marines, which he called the "Men's Department" of the Navy. He became an explosives expert, and while his more prestigious work was never really mentioned, his record does list an honourable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He got into thieving with a buddy of his, and when the deal almost went south, he got his brother involved. Since then, the two have been on a number of jobs together, though they always seem to offer different opinions as to how a physical obstacle is best overcome.

Construction:
Name: Daivd Bucklyn
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 215 lbs, muscled
Hair: Brown, not quite as short as his brother's.
Eyes: Grey
Age: 30
Bio: Having grown up with a rascal of a little brother, David tried to leave him behind when he entered the Navy. He progressed through first as a Constructionman, and eventually rose to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class before his srevice was complete and he received an honourable discharge. He found some initial work designing and maintaining coolant systems, but when his brother came to his ddor in need of help, he let Richard in, and entered Richard's world. He decided to take up thieving as the pay, though slightly worse in monetary terms, included the adventure that he had sought during his Navy days. Now both David and Richard are heist mechanincs, building devices or blowing things up as the need may require.

Mmmkay. Fast-moving + Me not having .net access...grr.

Anyways, I said I'd play a cop, so I'll play a derned cop. Of Course, it'll be -my- kind of cop...

(ominous music...)

Alright.

Name: Anderson Anderson Anderson Thant! (or 'Andy' for short..)

Alright. Just kidding. A little too much sugar, a little too much caffeine, and more than a little too much single-malt whiskey. Now, seriously...I'll go ahead and run two characters, linked together, or not. I reserve the right to insert the second as necessary..

Name: Lieutenant Jack Harrison
Age: ~33
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 180 lbs, 'stocky.'
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Green
Bio: Jack Harrison is something of a legend, so to speak. He's reportedly worked every angle of law enforcement, from SWAT to Vice and back again, and in spite of his seeming 'youth,' he has been a cop for almost a decade. His versatility and experience have placed him in something of a limbo, as far as actual assignments go -- he simply gets called in on all of the hard cases, and, as his track record shows, he routinely succeeds where the specialists fail.

Kit - Carry pistol is a Colt M1911, customized heavily. Has also been known to carry, on occasion, a variety of excessively large revolvers. Also known for his propensity for having a shotgun and automatic rifle stashed nearby, whenever he is in a 'dangerous situation.'

Car - 1968 Dodge Dart. I think we can guess which one. Heh...heh....heh.

Character #2

Name: 'Big' Richard Wang
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 250 lbs, 'Massive.'
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Ears: Rounded...
Bio: 'Big' Richard Wang certainly lives up to his nickname. Exactly what he does, however, is singularly mysterious. In fact, very little is known about this mysterious asian individual...other than that he is disturbingly proficient in flat-out beating people up.

Kit - Richard Wang is known to carry a S&W 500.

Personality: Gruff, merceyless

Before I post, is this in Vegas or Chi Town?

Ooof. Judging from the first post, 's in Vegas. And Chicago. At the SAME TIME. Or possibly they're meeting in Chicago for an op in Vegas. Or maybe I don't know. Whatever it is, wherever it happens, that's where Jack Harrison will be. Mmhmm.

I'd say just...go vague. Turn up at the 'indicated locale' and etc.

Parkus's intor mentions Vegas, but the thieves first meet up is to be held in Chi town at the Drake Hotel - Look for a man in a gimme cap with a L on it...and gads that has me humming the tune from Mystery Men.

And may I make a huge suggestion- NO OOC in the IC thread and NO, NO , NO SIGS in the IC thread.

Hey, I hope this ship hasn't sailed... I was hoping that I could come in as the computer/electronics specialist. If it's too late, he could show up late IC and I could make him seem to be the weak link in the team... If you get back to me while I'm still on, I could have a bio back to you in an hour.

You're welcome to come in as a main character, just post your stats and follow the instructions on the IC thread.

Alright, thanks!

Name: Peter "Python" Jonas
Age: 19
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 160
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Dark Brown, almost black
Description: As listed above, he's tall and thin, bordering on gangly. He has handsome striking features, and would be attractive if he took care of his body. He's usually seen in baggy jeans and old t-shirts, and sticks out from the crew because of his relatively young age. Usually quiet and reserved when working, he can be a hound dog when "off duty".

Bio: Python Jonas received his first computer at the age of four. By 10, he had built his own, and learned Java and C++. He earned his nickname while co-designing, under an alias, the Python programming language at the age of 11. By 13 he was enrolled at CalTech in the Computer Science Program.

Heralded as a prodigy, his professors believed he would go far, that is until the FBI's anticyber-terrorism unit came looking for him. All they found was an empty dorm, and the taunting message, "Who do you think you are; trying to put the squeeze on the Python?" Two days later, the FBI's network infrastructure collapsed as a tailored worm devoured their mainframe. It would go down as one of the single most destructive acts of hacking in history. Ever since, he has favored the shady side of the law, and although never having participated in a heist before, has stolen from encrypted off shore accounts.

On a side note... why don't we up the ante? How bout the mobsters' hotel features a museum where they are hosting the World Heritage Collection. A couple million bucks barely seems worth the trouble for a true heist, but those treasures could make it interesting.
