The Confederacy of Unified Socialists.

Born in 1991 from the ashes of the overthrown Communist government of Martin Joaquin, The Confederacy of Unified Socialists initially began as a local political movement before becoming a unified left wing mobilisation. Hispania, the large nation which once belonged to Joaquin’s dictatorship, carved out the symbol of modern Communism before the Democratic regime of Trent Byron forcefully overthrew the incumbent Party. With a huge population, Hispania was a breeding ground for radical political ideologies and paved the way for world peace and harmony throughout its 60 year Communist dwellings. All this changed after Byron’s aggressive usurpation and what was once a united electorate soon dissolved into several splinter states demanding independence and sovereignty.

Byron immediately clamped down on any party or group which was seen to be supporting or sympathetic to the Left Wing cause. Byron changed his liberal democratic policies to more radical, right wing agendas, setting up cameras and enforcing harsh punishments on even the most petty of crimes. After four years, Byron’s government controlled every aspect of Hispania’s society; anyone caught in any sort of criminal activity would be exiled or executed. If you didn’t work for the government or the civil service you worked in Labour Camps, mining or building. There was wide-spread dissatisfaction but with an all seeing government, expression of such thoughts was too risky an action to partake in and many continued on, hoping for a day where someone would revolt against Byron.

J.C. Andrews, a 19 year old environmental activist whose brother had been killed by exhaustion in the Labour Camps, began hosting secret underground meetings discussing ways to topple Byron’s government. After 8 months of wild revolutionary ideas, the regular members of the weekly meetings eventually formed a left wing socialist group called The Confederates. The group initially had 75 members, but grew rapidly after a neighbouring nation, Halandaberg became a Communist state. Hispania, having severed all international links by overthrowing Joaquin’s government, could do little to defend themselves after it became clear a Revolution was on the cards. Rallying 2 million troops, Byron initiated a campaign to wipe out Communism and Socialism for once and for all. He failed miserably. During the time it took him to gather his troops, Andrews, along with his close circle of advisors, P.J. Castro, Millena, Di Palma and Thompson, had received funding from Halandaberg’s president, Li-Huo. The funding allowed Andrews to round up and arm anyone who would answer the call of a bloody Socialist revolt. Several million did.

After a year of prolonged confrontations and skirmishes, Byron eventually conceded and The Confederates took Office. Immediately Andrews devised a plan of harmony between Hispania and her surrounding nations, along with the other superpowers. International treaties were signed and hundreds embassies sprang up overnight. It was clear to Andrews that War could never again be an option bestowed upon his citizens and pulled military funding out of his budget focusing instead on education and social welfare. A year passed before the party adopted the name, The Confederacy of Unified Socialists, after two smaller socialist nations, Newanport and Lithelton decided to join Andrews’ movement.

Presently, the party is going from strength to strength with the population increasing by thousands every day. Society is based on individualism – everyone is free to do what they want (within reason.) All drugs are legal, along with gambling and drinking. Only two aspects of society are banned – Cars and Elections, both proving to have a negative effect on the average person’s life.

The most recent legislation passed was the acceptance of Police funding to help eradicate anti-social behaviour that was seen to be imposing on people's civil liberties.

The Confederacy looks for support.

In an attempt to bolster their international status, The Confederacy has created an open invite to anyone who would welcome a political friendship. Trade would gladly be accepted along with a ratification of a peace treaty.

The Confederacy of Unified Socialists looks forward to hearing from you.

I'm new - sorry if this is in the wrong forum!
