Greetings, and welcome to Almintora, Turori, one of your host cities for the Cup of Harmony for World Cup 34. Along with the fine Almintora National Stadium in Almintora, Turori, the Cup of Harmony will consist of three additional groups of five teams a piece at the Cednia Beach Center in Cednia, Turori; as well as groups based in Kionao and Mliona-Lpaka.

With a goal of 20 teams, and a maximum of 32, the Cup of Harmony is sure to be a very tough competition for which the finalists will send a message to the World Cup 34 finalists that they will be no pushovers in World Cup 35. The following 16 Nations have received a formal invitation to the competition, and need only to post their National Roster in this thread to confirm their place in the tournament. Additional nations are welcome to submit themselves for entry into the competition. Non-Invited nations will be accepted based on Merit. If you are a non-invited nation, and wish to be accepted based on merit, I would suggest at the very minimum a decent roster to be posted in this thread, and an RP would certainly help your cause as well, as its most likely that the reason you didnt receive an official invitation was a lack of those during the qualifying campaign!

The signups will close at the earliest on Thursday, and at the latest at the conclusion of the Group Stage of the World Cup Finals, dependent on the acceptance of invited teams and a favorable number of total teams in competition. The first match day will take place 24 hours after the group draw, so do not rely on waiting for the group draw to be posted to begin writing your RPs.

30-04-2007, 08:07
Ulzaxid requests entry into the Cup of Harmony. We believe that we are more than worthy of competing in this fine competition. Yes the results we posted in the qualification were quite poor, struggling against teams like Atheistic Right and so on, but we still are looking to make many friends in and around the world. We've recieved fan mail from people, mostly youth around the world and think that our fan base would be pleased to see us compete in this competition, if only to get kicked around by bigger named squads like Quakmybush or Turori.

Cameron Miller F - A Scientist Footballer, when he is not at home fiddling and creating inventions, he is on the soccer field. Sometimes he melds the two and has been known to occasionally fit performance enhancing devices under his clothing.

Jacob Hunt F - Likes to go naked everywhere... especially on field. He only wears precisely what he has to obey local nudity laws. Of course in all home games he'll naked on the pitch.

Jaden Jackson F - Has a weird fascination with animals, particularily eating them.

Matthew Wright F - Is slightly psychotic though under his meds he is an effective footballer, though once he is off his meds he can act well, like a demon.

Aidan Stewart M© - The more sane sensible one of the group and the captain, has a great football mind but dosn't have the international experience to back it up yet.

Kyle Rogers M - Kyle, is actually the Bastard son of the great lion. Though at the moment no one knows it. Well someone does, but not Kyle.

Xavier Carter M - A gun nut, who collects them. He likes to get guns from all around the world. Though while he likes guns he never brings them with him overseas.

Ryan Mitchell D - Does on the occasion get violent on or off field.

Brandon Cooper D - A close friend of this guy was killed at the whim of the Great Lion. Brandon Cooper hates the Great Lion with a passion and would like to see everything related to him wiped off the face of the planet

Robert Murphy D - Robert is a person that seems out of the place in the team, he certainly seems friendly, respectful and not one to make waves.

John Edwards K - John... what is there to say about him. Not much at all

Official Statement from the BFA:

The BFA welcomes it's invite into this year's Cup of Harmony tournament. We will attempt to keep all miswrites of "Cup of Harmony" to "Cup of Honour" to a minimum.

Our kits, being used for the last time before our switch to new ones are as follows:

Homehttp://www.btinternet.com/~david.boston/_bostopia/bos331.gif Awayhttp://www.btinternet.com/~david.boston/_bostopia/bos332.gif Third http://www.btinternet.com/~david.boston/_bostopia/bos333.gif

We also have an all-black kit should someone play in red, blue and green jerseys, and blindfolds for any fans not wishing to see such abominations of colour co-ordinating - unless the kit looks good, in which case, kudos.

Kiryu-shi Accepts Invitation to Cup of Harmony

By Michio Hibbert, Illustrations By David Reyes.

Sakaino, Kiryu-shi With Kiryu-shi's loss in the final match of World Cup qualifying, Coach Bruce Lewis looks to lead his team into the Cup of Harmony, an invitational tournament for those teams who failed to qualify for the World Cup Finals. Kiryu-shi, who finished fourth in their group, was one of the sixteen teams invited to play in event, look forward to playing against fellow Baptism of Fire tournament teams Mekhule. There are reports that Ulzaxid might also join the tournament, and Kiryu-shi looks forward towards the oppurtunity to play them again. Fellow Group Three teams Estresse Intenso and Quakmybush have also been invited. In the Kiryu-shi Football Alliance will send their team as well as several representatives to the host nation of Turori for the Cup of Harmony group draw. The team will consist of the same members as the World Cup and the Bapstism of Fire.

GK
Jon Crow (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/crow.jpg)-#1-6’3”-22 years old
The eccentric goalkeeper of Kiryu-shi is known for his whacky hair and spindly, flexible body. He has great instinct as a keeper, but still has difficulty with proper positioning. He is a vocal player, leading his defense line well. In the Baptism of Fire, he has allowed three goals through seven games, although he's rarely been challenged. In World Cup qualifying, he allowed 26 goals in 14 games against much harder competition, with 13 goals coming in two matches against Bettia.

DF
Matthew Pruet (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/pruett.jpg)-#3-5’11”-27 years old
One of the most solid defenders on the team, he takes charge of the defensive line from the center-back position. Pruet aggressively clears loose balls inside the penalty area and has a strong and accurate kick. He lacks first-class speed, and looks lost when playing outside of his zone. He takes the most free kicks from the defensive half. He has been the steadiest player in the Baptism of Fire thus far, earning praise from coach Bruce Lewis. With three assists in international play thus far, he also shows some ability to spark an attack up the field. He is co-captain.

Bob Moya (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/goya.jpg)-#5-6’2”-24 years old
A terrific one on one defender, he is often used to neutralize star attackers. He is never caught out of position and is very technically sound. However, he is not a tremendously gifted athlete, lacking speed, durability and a strong kick. He is prone to injury, although he often plays through the pain. He has stayed healthy throughout play thus far, and is looking to turn around the poor reputation of his health.

Doug LeBlanc (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/leblanc.jpg)-#2-5’8”-23 years old
What he lacks in knowledge and quick thinking he makes up for in speed and pure athletic ability. He plays especially well with Pruet. He is the fastest player for Kiryu-shi and has a strong, if not that accurate, kick. He is very loud and passionate, and will be involved in a lot of physical play, accumulating cards but also drawing fouls from the opposing side. His attacking skills are decent, and is very useful on counter attacks. However, especially when he is not playing with Pruet, he will be caught out of position and will suffer many mental lapses resulting in opposing chances. He has two goals in international play, and will look to add to that total in the Cup of Harmony.

Isaac Levi (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/levi.jpg)-#7-5’10”-17 years old
The youngest and least experienced starter on Kiryu-shi’s squad, his ability to move the ball up the sidelines is key in the team’s wing-oriented strategy. He shows impressive ability in intercepting passes and ball-handling. He has stamina issues, and is not as strong as a premier player should be. He can be knocked off the ball. His passing abilities are still lacking, and is one of the only players who tries to dribble before passing. Lacks scoring and shooting ability. He sprints well, Has extremely good distance and accuracy on his throws, and will take most of the throws from his side. Levi has shown impressive growth in his ability to distribute the ball, and has racked up five assists during the Baptism of Fire and World Cup.

Sidney Hendrickson (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/hendrickson.jpg)-#12-5’11-22 years old
Originally an attacking midfielder, his talents stealing the ball made it obvious to move him to the defensive line, where he is one of the key parts of Kiryu-shi’s team. He is fast and very effective on the outside, and is never hurt. He has a scoring touch, and is effective as an offensive weapon dashing into the box from the wing. Can beat certain defenders one on one with his quick feet. He lacks a strong kick and plays balls in the air very poorly. Plays up and down the field, and is well-conditioned. He is coming off a few very good final matches in the World Cup, and has four assists.

MF
Gregory Iverson (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/iverson.jpg)-#15-6’4”-18 years old
A surprise starter in the defensive midfield is a favorite of the coach due to his meticulous preparation and imposing size. Although he is not especially skilled in any one area, and is probably the slowest starting player, his size and strength are intimidating in the middle of the field. He can pass and receive passes well, and has a hard kick. Will take long shots once in a while. Is effective on corners, both defending and attacking. He is a good leader, and has been predicted by some that with maturity, will develop into the eventual captain of the national team. Although Iverson has faced competition for the starting job in the Baptism of Fire, he solidified his status as a starter throughout the World Cup.

Pat Mayberry (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/mayberry.jpg)-#8-5’11”-25 years old
The most well-known player on Kiryu-shi’s national team, is unquestionably the best all-around player from his right side half-back position. He can dominate matches at times, using his speed and awareness to create opportunities to score for his team. He holds his own defensively. His accurate and strong passes from the wing can create goals. He can beat defenders one on one, and is very fast. He is not that big, and can be out-muscled. When he is really focused, he seems to be able to take the ball up the side, penetrate into the penalty area and score at will in league matches. He never takes set pieces. He is co-captain of the national team. He has been the playmaker and goal scorer for Kiryu-shi with a team high 13 goals as well as five assists.

Giancario Diamanti (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/diamanti.jpg)-#20-5’11-19 years old
Possibly the worst all-around starter, had been compared to a younger Mayberry at age 17. Has yet to develop the explosiveness and awareness that Mayberry possesses, although he is technically very sound, and will rarely make an outright mistake. Doesn't create opportunities, but positions himself well. He is very ingressive. He doesn't take the ball away from opponents, but can stall them. It is predicted that he will not finish most games, with the veteran Jared Goodman backing him up. Early speculation that Goodman would start for Diamanti has quieted with overall team success, and Diamanti has started to play better with time, with six total points on four goals and two assists.

Hellen Gandy (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/gandy.jpg)-#9-5’6”-23 years old
Led league play in goals last year, as the teammate of Pat Mayberry. Has very precise and accurate kicks, both passing and shooting. Will take all free kicks within scoring distance for Kiryu-shi, as well as penalty kicks. Despite her size, she has the ability to score on crosses and corners, judging balls in the air very well. She does not have the best speed or ability to dribble past players, but uses positioning and passes to set up goal scoring opportunities. Is a liability defensively, and will rarely help to try to win back the ball. Although Gandy suffered a high ankle sprain in the Baptism of Fire, she has remained healthy throughout the World Cup. She has been a major part of the national team's success thus far, tied for the team lead in points with ten assists and eight goals.

FW
Garret McGee (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/otnekstem/Kiryu-shi/mcgee.jpg)-#11-6’2”-26 years old-The only forward starting for the national team, is nationally known for his acrobatic jumping ability. He plays his position very solidly, and shows the ability to see the whole pitch very well. Has an accurate strike, and the attacking, shoot-first mentality to make great use of it. The excitement over the Mayberry to McGee combination is highly anticipated in many of Kiryu-shi’s soccer fans. McGee’s ability to score using his head, literally, routinely makes it on the highlights of Kiryu-shi’s sports television stations. He has a tendency to use his elbows and arms to create space for himself, and will get called on it often. He lacks a true striker’s speed, and counts on teamwork and crosses to score rather than individual dribbling ability. He has only scored 12 total goals for Kiryu-shi. Emily Boyle has had success as a back-up for McGee, with five goals in limited oppurtunities.

Landau Institute's selected players for the World Cup 34:

Style: +3

This will be the last official competition of the Landau Institute's Patient Team, so they decided to attack more, with an ultra-offensive strategy. In the next competitions, a team of Doctors will play.

Goalkeepers:

1- Julien PRUNELLA: Perfectionist, Prunella is a serious man, who likes to see everything in the right place. When playing, he is a very fast goalkeeper who can make great jumps and has good reflexes.
Age: 25 years old
Years in the Institute: 14

12- Harold ZHEE ZHANG: Zhang needs many medicines to stay calm. He becomes angry easily, and the doctors have to control him everytime. When playing, he is a good goalkeeper, good in saving penalties and like to leave the goal to start plays.
Age: 34 years old
Years in the Institute: 27

23- Tomé Demétrius VIANA: Viana doesn't talk. After many years under stress, he decided to stop talking and now communicates using signals. In the field he isn't an excellent goalkeeper, only a backup for the team, as his hands aren't very strong.
Age: 32 years old
Years in the Institute: 4

Wing-Backs:

2- Sidney PINDARÉ: Pindaré loves music. He sings everytime his preferred music, and even when he have to talk, he talks singing. He plays singing and even sleeps singing. As a player, he plays in the right wing, using all his speed and technique to start plays for the team, but he is good at tackling too.
Age: 29 years old
Years in the Institute: 13

6- Diego FLORES: Flores fears practically everything. Animals, objects, people, he fears all of it. His main fear is his fear of thieves, thinking that he will be mugged everytime. When playing, he is fast and very intelligent, thinking before passing the ball. He even goes to the attack sometimes to try to score.
Age: 23 years old
Years in the Institute: 20

14- BERGUE: Bergue forgot everything that happened in his life before going to the Institute, even his age and name. Apart from this, he is a normal person, and is learning many things from the doctors. When playing, he can be used in both wings in the field, and is very good at tackling and at passing.
Age: who knows?
Years in the Institute: 15

16- Manoel Arnaldo ANTUNES: Antunes is very fat, and has to take many medicines to control his weight. The doctors discovered that he started to eat after suffering from intense stress and he can't stop to eat anymore. When playing, Antunes doesn't run very much, but is great at tackling and in long passes.
Age: 26 years old
Years in the Institute: 8

Centre-Backs:

3- Carlos Eduardo GODÓI: Godói thinks that he is a very famous person, and when he is playing he thinks that most of the supporters that are in the stadium are his fans. As a defender, he is very competent and is a good leader, although isn't the captain.
Age: 25 years old
Years in the Institute: 11

4- Viriato MANGA: Manga is one of the few players of the squad that doesn't have any problem and doesn't need any medicines. He is very experienced and is a natural leader, very good in tackling and in protecting the ball. (CAPTAIN)
Age: 28 years old
Years in the Institute: 24

13- Roberto MARINHO: Marinho says that he can see the future. But his visions never happen (well, one or two happened, but it was only luck, I think), so nobody believes on him. In the defense he has more technique than te others, but his marking is poor.
Age: 19 years old
Years in the Institute: 5

20- Ângelo SURBINOV: Surbinov lies everytime, and he can't control this. When someone asks something to him, he has to lie. When he is playing, he likes to control the ball and marks well.
Age: 24 years old
Years in the Institute: 7

Defensive Midfielders:

5- Eurico SARDINHA: Sardinha is rally crazy. He says incomprehensible things all the time, shouting and acting like a cave man. Sometimes he talks normally, but still acts like a crazy person. He is a very violent player and good at long shots and passes.
Age: 29 years old
Years in the Institute: 17

8- Anton DUMITRACHE: If Dumitrache doesn't take his medicines, he will be delirious and see unreal things, objects moving and he won't move, shocked in his world, seeing the colours mixing and things moving. As a player, he has some technique and can help the team in making good goal chances.
Age: 20 years old
Years in the Institute: since birth

21- Bjorn ERIKSSON: Eriksson is too calm and lazy. He doesn't run in the field and even sleeps while playing sometimes. He likes to relax. When playing, she stays in only one place in the field, helping the team with his good passes.
Age: 20 years old
Years in the Institute: since birth

22- Jairo MONTEIRO: Monteiro likes to collect. Everything. Everytime he is looking for something to collect, and can even steal or do something wrong to get what he wants. In the position of defensive midfielder, he is very good at tackling and marking, and can play as a defender.
Age: 27 years old
Years in the Institute: 1

Offensive Midfielders:

10- BOGDAN Nejmanovski: Another player that doesn't have any serious problem, Bogdan only need medicines because he has many health problems. But he is a key player, as he is very smart and can dribble very well, creating many good goal chances and even scoring lots of goals.
Age: 37 years old
Years in the Institute: 22

11- Vandison DOS ALPES: Dos Alpes likes to comment the game to his team mates and gives orders for them, becoming angry if they don't obey with him. He also fears the dark and crowded places. Playing, he is good a dribbling and good in taking corner kicks, being a very technical player.
Age: 30 years old
Not in the institute anymore - plays for Cafundó do Juta (Cafundéu), under medical assistance

15- Gregório ARAÚJO: Araújo loves a deathwatch. He thinks that he can speak with the dead and stays many hours in the cemetery. When playing, he controls the ball a lot and has a good passing ability, but doesn't score many goals.
Age: 22 years old
Years in the Institute: 6

18- Selênio CÉSAR NOBRE: César Nobre is hypochondriac, taking lots of medicines even when he doesn't need any. He also avoids physical contact with other players, fearing that he gets a disease in this contact. But when he is playing he forget about that and play using all his speed and dribbling ability.
Age: 23 years old
Years in the Institute: 22

Attackers:

7- Fernando PONTE PÊNSIL: Ponte Pênsil is a free kick expert, scoring easy goals from free kicks. He also is very good at heading and assisting his team mates, being one of the most respected players of the squad. But he has a serious insomnia, he can't sleep for six days, and after that he sleeps during 24 hours.
Age: 27 years old
Years in the Institute: 24

9- Carlos Alberto GABALÁN: Gabalán is the best player of the team and a goal maker. He doesn't need medicines and is completely sane, so he is the key player of the team and the main responsible for the good results of the squad.
Age: 28 years old
Not in the Institute anymore - Plays for Petardos S/A (Cafundéu)

17- Cláudio MENDES: Mendes can't decide. He can't decide what he will eat, what shirt he'll use, and other things. He need to take his medicines to play well. As a supporting striker, Mendes is good at dribbling and makes many assists.
Age: 24 years old
Years in the Institute: 5

19- Nico LACERDA: Lacerda hates cities. When he has to play in a big city, he stays in the hotel during all the trip and only leaves to play the game. When playing, he is a very good striker, and can score many goals.
Age: 19 years old
Years in the Institute: 18

COACH: Doctor Vittorio Mendonça: After being arrested in Bazalonia during the last Baptism of Fire and being substituted by Doctor Haroldo Sassarel during the World Cup 33 qualifiers, Doctor Mendonça is now out of the prison and ready to return to the command of the National Team. Sassarel will probably return to the Be Calm television sports program. Estresse Intenso now has an experienced coach again.
Age: 70 years old

Landau also sent many other doctors to help the team, working as physical trainer, spy, doctor and other jobs.

The Nation of Turori is also known for its Dominance as the two time defending champion of the NS Bowl, winning the American Football event in it's 4th and 5th incarnations.

The Football Association of Turori skipped World Cup 29 in order to allow coach Jualiar Vumaou the opportunity to train a flock of Cocoabo (Very large, generally flightless birds farmed in Turori) to play the sport. They became very good and were the sole members of the squad that performed admirably in World Cup 30 before qualifying under Vumaou for the World Cup 31 finals. However, after the death of one Cocoabo and controversy surrounding many others, and failure to qualify for the World Cup 32 Finals, Vumaou was sacked and a mix Cocoabo & Citizen of Turori squad was named for the Championship winning Cup of Harmony squad, which then made the World Cup 33 Finals and is looking to repeat that success in World Cup 34. World Cup 34 is widely expected to be the last that any Cocoabo's are named in the Turorian squad.

Riailia Magic was appointed the coach of the Turori Eels midway through World Cup 33 Qualifying when it appeared the Eels were down and out. The Vilitan based coach who originated from the Riailia Village tribe just a stones throw from Turori led the Eels on an 8 match winning streak that included a shockingly convincing 7-1 thrashing of former World Champions Squornshelous en route to a place in the World Cup Finals and eventually the knockout stage.

All home matches will be in the Union Centre Stadium in Vilvek, a new, and rather large stadium in Swilatia with a seating capacity of 120K people/dwarves/elves/(insert any other humanoid species).

Vilvek is the capital city of Swilatia, and the country's largest city, with 32 million people living in it*. There is a wide variety of hotels in which supporters can stay, ranging from the City Hotel Vilvek, a very luxurious hotel which calls itself "Swilatia's only 6-star hotel", to the cheap hotels with sub-compact rooms.

The city, being founded 3000 years ago, has many differences between its districts, ranging from Stare Miasto, which has buildings from the ancient and middle ages, to East Splarka, a post-modern skyscraper district. The city, like many other Swilatian cities, is surrounded by many smaller cities, although the city can still actually be considered to expand upwards, as shown by the presence of high-rise flat blocks in the city's 3rd ring of districts, the ring in which much of the city's population lives.

*yes, I know that might not be much compared to some of your cities, but I prefer to stay realistic with the populations.

If you read the WCDT you will see that I requested a co-host for this but they declined, so I will simply take the traditional path of scorinating as normal through the group stages then should my nation make it to the knockout rounds I will have someone without an interest in the results from IRC simulate those one off style matches.

Ok, that's fine. I rarely read the WCDT. I wasn't calling foul btw, just trying to lessen the likelyhood of someone else doing so later.

Provisional Ulzaxid squad for the Cup of Harmony:

With Ulzaxidians not having names in a traditional sense, nor having football in the traditional sense, all players have copied names from famous footballers to name the squad, hence the names. By studying the list of hall of fame players it seems that strikers are more important hence the 1-3-6 formation.

Special Notes about Ulzaixds:

They aren't human or from earth. In other words they are aliens. And strange ones at that. A full Ulzaxid is made up of five different organisms morphed together. The five component parts are organisms similiar to a monkey, dolphin with gills, an eagle, a ferret and a slime mold. In full on form they are very large, fast, strong and dangerous. With claws and wings for flight. Fortunately they won't be using such full morphs during the competition. But rather smaller versions. All morphs contain at least the slime which can secrete an enzyme which allows them to morph together. They can morph with any organism, so if they are under attack at home matches will do so in self-defense. And considering they could kick the crap out of people anyways, I'd recommend against starting trouble in Ulzaxid. Ulzaxid stadiums are specially constructed to have special seating areas for each of the base organisms as well as morphs. So there are eagles sitting on poles above the field, a special pool area for dolphins and so on. The slime molds are telepathic so the coach and team don't make any noise during matches. At away matches the spectators will also be completely silent. At home matches the base forms of eagle, ferret, monkey and dolphin will make noise.

Jessica: "Hello and welcome to today's press conference for the Acapais National Football Team. I am glad all of you could make it this afternoon. In a moment, Mr. William Edwards, board president of the Acapais National Football Team, will present himself and speak with you. It is stated by the president however that at the end of the announcements there will be no questions. So without further ado, I would like to introduce to you the board president of the Acapais National Football Team William Edwards!"

Light Applause

Edwards: "Thank you all for coming out. I am going to make this as brief as possible for I have a lot of work to do. We clearly stated to manager Anil Keswani that if we failed to qualify for World Cup 34, there would be problems. We have failed to qualify and there are therefore problems. He has not pleased us and so we have decided to evaluate him through Cup of Harmony 26. We have specifically told him that we want a Cup of Harmony trophy when the team returns from Turori. If he fails to return with a championship we will more than likely release him. Thank you for your time."

Jessica: "Hello and welcome to today's press conference for the Acapais National Football Team. In a moment, Manager Anil Keswani will present himself and give you information about this year's team competing in the Cup of Harmony. It is requested however that you save your questions until the end of the announcements. Well, it's one o' clock, so without further ado, I would like to introduce to you the first manager in Acapais National Football Team history, Anil Keswani!"

Light Applause

Keswani: "Hello everyone. Thank you everyone for coming. My name is Anil and I will talk to you about the team that will be traveling to Turori this summer. We are little bummed for this year's Cup of Harmony competition, because we have just come off a terrible World Cup Qualifying playoff penalty kick loss. This time however we are one of the strongest Nations in the tournament. I am sure you all have heard the situation regaurding my status as the Acapan manager but let me assure you, I will do everything in my power to bring home the Cup. Having been eliminated from the World Cup proper was a bit of a let down however I am certain that we have a chance to finish high this time around.

"Now, because this is our second Cup of Harmony tournament, other countries expectations for Acapais are rather high. Acapais is a young and somewhat experienced team but still a team with a lot of potential. As nation ranked 63, advancing to the knockout stage should be an easy task. We won our group last time around so we will lean on that experience.

"In this tournament we will play a more balanced game than Acapais are used to. With our youth we should be able to beat them as far as conditioning. Offensively we have pace with, Salazar, Jose and Van Savage. Our large goalkeeper is quick has a good positioning coach. All players on the roster are familiar with each other because they all play in the Acapais FA Division I. Some players even have teammates the roster.

"Having said all of this, our goal, like the other nations invited nations, is simple; win the Cup of Harmony. The members of the Acapan Football Association will do our best to bring home glory.

"Are there any questions?"

Points

Reporter 1: "What will be the best way to win the Cup of Harmony successfully?"

Keswani: "If we play a solid game and capitalize on opponents mistakes there should be no reason why we can't win."

Points

Reporter 2: "Anil, do you think your position as manager is over?"

Keswani: "No, I really belive that this is our year and I feel like the board will to keep me as manager after the Cup of Harmony tournament is over."

Points

Reporter 3: "Will you expand on what you said about 'outlasting' you opponents?"

Keswani: "Certainly. Since our team is very young we will have the ability to run at a faster pace for a longer period of time. I have confidence that when we play possession football and good defense, we should be able to make our opponents fatigued and therefore win the match."

Points

Reporter 4: "Why is Murphy your captain of choice"

Keswani: "He has the most club experience for his team Highland Park FC than anyone else on the roster, and he is a natural leader"

Points

Reporter 5: "There is a lot of controversy surrounding the roster you chose. Tell us please why you went with such a young roster when there are clearly older and more experianced players that play in the AFA."

Keswani: "Ah, I was wondering when someone was going to ask me that. The reason is because I want to build a young team for future World Cup competitions. If I put players that are over 30 years old on the roster, then they would only help us for Cup of Harmony XXVI and none there after. By selecting young players I can ensure that the team will gain experience not only individually but grow together as a team. Plus I don't want to physically rewrite the roster in four years."

Laughing

Keswani: "This concludes the press conference. Thank you all for coming."

Nebraska: If I'm reading these messages correctly, then somehow, someway the ancient Qazians either could see into the future or we're translating these wrong.

Member 2: Sir, if we are translating them correctly, then that means...

Nebraska: Yes the ancient ones had technology unavailable to us until 100 years ago or someone came back in time and wrote these, either as a joke, or to be found.

Member 3: So we're staying here then, in the... inscription chamber?

Nebraska: Yes, until we have translated all of these inscriptions, we'll stay. Perhaps we'll find out the truth behind these writings

Draw for Cup of Harmony announced.
Acapais placed in Kionao Group.

Excitement poured throughout Acapais last night when, for the second time in our history, Acapais was placed in a Cup of Harmony group.

More than 15% of the nation was said to have watched to Cup of Harmony Draw on television hoping and wishing they would not be grouped with a high seeded nation. To the delight of some Acapans, the National Football Team avoided nations like Qazox and Turori, the hosts but got drawn into a group with, powerhouse and World Cup 33 hosts, Quakmybush.

Quakmybush and Swilatia perfromed "on par" with Acapais. Swilatia finished fourth in thier group, one spot below a playoff spot and Quakmybush finished equal with Acapais, that is third a playoff spot. Quakmybush drew thier away leg and lost thier home leg 2-0 against Assegai Developments.

"We have a difficult group but it is by no means a group of death. Acapais has a great chance of advancing to the second group stage." says manager Anil Keswani. "but we can't let that distract us from our goal, winning games. We are going to start today getting ready for Quakmybush."

Only 13 nations entered this year’s Cup of Harmony and divided into three groups of three and one group of four. The top two teams qualify for the second group stage. The second group stage will consist of two groups of four. The top two teams from the second group stage advance to the semifinals and a knockout proceeds.

"I am so excited about this year's Cup of Harmony. I really think we can win our group." says a walking pedestrian.

Players of the Acapais National Football Team have high hopes for themselves too.

Oscar Van Savage says, “We have a great chance to win the Cup of Harmony this year. We just have to remain focused and do our job.”

Even our sports expert thinks of the National Team as a serious contender.

Sally Mayfield, sports expert, says, "I feel differently than I did last time. I think Acapais will win thier first group and then win the second group. Where Acapais will go from there will be up to them."

Sally predicts that the two advancing naions from the Kionao Group will be Acapais, and Quakmybush.

Kionao Group:
Quakmybush
Swilatia
Acapais

Schedule of CoH matches for Acapais to be played at the Kionao Locals Park, Turori:

Cup of Harmony Fixtures Announced!

Bostopia has been drawn into the Cednia Group in the Turori hosted Cup of Harmony. Bostopia, who narrowly missed out on a playoff position for the chance to qualify for the World Cup proper, will be looking to find the winning form they lacked at times in the World Cup, and qualify for the next group stage of this competion.

However, with the team playing at the Cednia Beach Centre, it will have to be seen how the heat will affect the Bostopian players, who are used to playing in slightly cooler conditions. With the team facing strong competition in the experienced Qazox and Commerce Heights JSY, any favour the team can get will be appreciated.

Kiryu-shi Drawn to Face Hosts for First Match

By Michio Hibbert

Almintora, Turori When the Kiryu-shi football team saw the results of the live draw from the conference room in their hotel in Turori, audible profanities were heard throughout the entire building stemming from the mouth of one of their players, Doug LeBlanc. Although it might not be as tragic as LeBlanc would lead a person to believe, the Dragons managed to draw one of the toughest opening matches that they could have drawn, as they will have to face the host nation, one of the top-ranked teams in the Cup of Harmony in a hostile environment to kick off their attempt to take the tournament. With only two games in the first stage scheduled, this match might be key to ensure a spot in the second round of the tournament, and Kiryu-shi will have to go all out to have a chance against a formidable opponent. A historically successful team that made it into the knock-out stages of the last World Cup, it came as a shock to the football world when Turori finished fourth in their group, just two point behind the Turruth Gordur squad in this year’s World Cup Qualifying. An offensive team, they scored 25 goals en route to six wins in qualifying, but were vulnerable against certain types of defenses, shut out by both Holweg and Commerce Heights JSY. Kiryu-shi will look to emulate a stifling defense and counter attack utilizing the wings as much as possible, in the same basic style of the World Cup Qualifiers.

____The other team that Kiryu-shi will have to face in the Mliona-Lpaka Group is Atheistic Right, a team who won five games to finish fourth in a tough Group five in the World Cup. Kiryu-shi will look to take advantage of their suspect defense, which gave up 31 goals in just twelve matches. However, Atheistic Right does tend to attack ferociously, as they scored 30 goals in those matches. They are ranked 92nd in the world, just barely above 97th ranked Kiryu-shi, and their talents are pretty equal, and the match between the two teams should go to the team that plays with the most desire. The top two teams from the group will advance to the second stage, so Kiryu-shi does have a good chance, although they can’t let up at any point, as every moment is crucial with only two games to play. Both matches will take place at Lpaka Community Field, a smaller stadium in Turori. If Kiryu-shi makes it out of this stage, they will have to go through another group stage before they make it to the knockout portion of the Cup of Harmony. Although the national team has played in a lot of matches since their international debut in the last Baptism of Fire, fatigue should not be much of an issue, as there was a lot of time to rest after the last match of the World Cup Qualifications.

In a dark cave locted in the oldest rock found in Qazox, Professor Nebraska Smith has found a slew of ancient Qazian writing. So far the premier archeologist in Qazox has not released exactly what the messages have contained, but there have been 5 messages found so far and translated. Prof. Smith has asked that the translations not yet be published, as there may be errors found within. He suspects that the messages might not have come from ancient Qazians, but ther is no evidence yet of any other explanation. The FreePress has been granted permission to re-print the 5th message:

Kiryu-shi suffers Loss to Hosts; Impeded by Presence of Birds

By Michio Hibbert

Mliona, Turori Following the short flight from the Capital City of the Island Emirate of Turori, Almintora to the Mliona, on the small island just south of mainland Turori, the Kiryu-shi national squad prepared themselves to face the mixed species team. Although the Dragons had faced an even more exotic team in the Baptism of Fire, when they barely beat Ulzaxid, they went through a rigorous and more or less pointless specialized training designed by head coach Bruce Lewis and his staff. Team members went through hours of listening to bird tapes and studying films of various species of flightless birds in order to attempt to understand the specific motions of the winged creatures. They completed drills with assistants chasing them and hitting them repeatedly with large bundles of feathers. Controversy arose as several players, in anonymous interviews mentioned that they felt they were focusing too much on birds, and not enough on soccer. Experts had predicted that Kiryu-shi would train based on some of the more successful teams who played against Turori in the World Cup Qualifying, but this was obviously not the case. Turori took advantage and dominated most of the match.

____Turori jumped out to an early lead in the seventh minute, as forward Lotuta Kanzai scored a goal, blowing past Doug LeBlanc to get in position to put the ball into the corner of the net. Kiryu-shi was playing very bad at the beginning of the match, and their defenders looked slow and ill-prepared. In the 14th minute, Kanzai’s pass to Zemloi Amafaira set up another goal, and Kiryu-shi was down two nil early in the match. Just four minutes later, Turori defender Juricao Nutaha scored from a long volley as keeper Jon Crow stumbled as he was trying to save the ball. With the three nil lead, Turori didn’t attack quite as aggressively. Kiryu-shi couldn’t create any chances of their own, and the game went into halftime with Kiryu-shi losing by a the same wide margin. Coming back out onto the pitch, Kiryu-shi looked a little better, playing loosely and aggressively, making runs down the side and using long passes to move the ball around the pitch. However, they could not get any good shots off, as the Turori defense kept pressure on any player in or around shooting range. Kiryu-shi finally got rid of the goose egg on the scoreboard when Iverson, from near the halfway line, kicked the ball towards the net. Turori keeper Tuia Miao was caught out of position near the top of the penalty box, and the ball sailed over his head and bounced into the goal, as one of the flukiest goals ever scored by a Kiryu-shi player. However, Kiryu-shi could not take advantage of the momentum shift, as Turori tightened up their defense and soaked up all Kiryu-shi advances, as the Eels choked off the Dragons to end the game three to one.

____After the game, Bruce Lewis admitted that the tactics that they employed during their practices may have been flawed, and hinted that he would be using more standard training tactics to prepare for the match against Atheistic Right. This next match may determine if Kiryu-shi will advance into the second round of the Cup of Harmony. If they win, they will ensure, at worst, a three way tie for first place and will have a chance to make it through on goal differential. If they lose, however, they will automatically eliminated from the competition, and if they draw, they will have to count on good luck to let them into the second round. There is no doubt that Kiryu-shi will be playing with all their heart to try to stay alive in the tournament.

Will this be Anil Keswani's last game with the Acapais National Football Team? After a tough loss to Quakmybush on a questional penalty kick in the 65th minute, things look bleak for the Hearts. Furthermore, Acapais failed to score two or more goals against Quakmybush and it puts them in last place which means a draw or loss on Tuesday night would send Acapais home considerably early and also send Anil Keswani home for good. The penalty kick was called a handball in the box. Murphy's arms were adjacent to his body and the ball hit square in the crease between his left arm and body. The referee called a penalty and Quakmybush midfielder Jon Fields put it away for the game winner. Will Acapais be able to turn their fortune around?

TRAGEDY IN ANCIENT CAVES!

The ancient caves Professor Nebraska Smith has suffered a collapse. In a text-message from Prof. Smith, a cave-in happened about the same time the Qazox-Commerce Heights JSY match ended, which was a 1-2 Qazox loss.

The final message, as sent to us by Prof. Smith, is a cell-phone picture. This is the last message:

Now possibly no one can translate the messages, as the cave's entrance has been completely destroyed, and Prof. Smith never pin-pointed the exact location of the entrance. Atheistic Right - Still not quite Right.

After a good solid group stage performance in the qualifiers Atheistic Right engaged in a tight battle with third seeded team Kiryu-shi. A nation that had not even been on the Darwinist Radar had given the Rightists a good battle in the group stage. Only luck seemed to give the Kiryu-shi national team the lead as there was absolutely nothing between the skills of the players, a false move by
Ryan Mitchell called him to confront the Referee in an unwelcomed manner. And earned himself a red card. Ryan, who had so far seemed to restrict his violent tendecies to minor off field incidents (including the creation of a hole in the wall of a Turorian restaurant).

This opened up a whole the the Darwinist defense which the Kiryu-shi team managed to exploit once, leaving the Atheistic Right team at the bottom of the table, the Mliona-Lpaka Group, informally known as group 4 rests on the result of the Turori-Atheistic Right match. A win by the Darwinists will mean they progress ahead of Kiryu-shia win of 2 goals or more means the team will climb into top place on goal differential, however a loss or a draw will see the status quo remain. Turori at the top of the table and Kiryu-shi second.

Exactly how the team is expected to beat the Turorians on their own turf is unknown but do expect an interesting game.

Meanwhile in Atheistic Right Leon Green is looking at the paper and notices the report of the archeologists death,

"And people think that Speleology is safe. Nothing is... crossing the road isn't safe. Especially if you are in Atheistic Right..." he chuckled to himself at the joke he made

"You know," he said to himself, no one else was there "that he actually thought that this written by Ancient Qazaxians... " He chuckled to himself... before realising something... "Unless they could see the future..."

Leon Green jumped up and made arrangements to go and visit the Q Continuum, where ever that was to do some spellunking of his own.

We've had a bit of a frustrating time this cup of harmony. Not because of the results, which are disappointing but mostly irrelevant, but because of the lack of "harmony". So far are two matches have been against Estresse Intenso and Turruth Gordur. While the Estresse Intenso fans were nice enough we really weren't able to bond witht them and the Turruth Gordur fans were downright rude. It was a fear of ours that we might have to absorb the DNA of somethem or rip them to shreds. Which for pacifists such as ourself would've been less than desirable. But there were times where they seemed to be looking to brawl with us, which they would've regretted greatly. Anyways, we've only got one match left, unless we find a way to earn at least a draw, and probably a win. Otherwise we'll be headed back home to wait for the next AOCAF. We still want to thank Turori for their work as hosts. It's not their fault neither us or our opponents had been as friendly as we'd have hoped.

[Parriff] And now to Kelly Firth who's outside FA headquarters at Heartwick House, Kelly, I understand you spoke to Adam Collick earlier?

[Firth] Thanks Jamie, and yes I did. Though he was thousands of miles away, I did manage to get some information out of Adam. He told me that despite the fact Bostopia and Jasiyun had already qualified, the team would not be playing it safe and draw the match, in a hope of not getting anyone injured. He went on to say that the Bostopian team were looking to finish first in the group so that they could go on to face teams at Bostopia's current "home ground" of the Cednia Beach Centre, now that the players had gotten acclimatised to the situation.

The weather didn't appear to affect the players in the game against Qazox, the third time Bostopia had faced that side in the Cup of Harmony. But for now, it's back to the studio and Jamie Parriff, more from me later on.

[Parriff] Thanks, Kelly, you keep working on that tan.

[Firth] Just don't forget the suntan lotion!

[Parriff] Of course. And now our next story, a cat was today taken from a tree following a 7 hour stand off with firefighters. The cat, a vicious tabby, had swiped at anyone who came near, and for more on the story, here's Danny Peters in Squigg, Port Flamerty State.

St Samuel News

The Latin Crusaders have so far had a satisfying start to the Cup of Harmony in Turori. A shaky start to the tournament saw St Samuel draw 2-2 with Turruth Gordur. A match which saw a number of nasty incidents and side line brawls. Turruth Gordur took the lead on the 14th minute but St Samuel were quick to reply with a goal on the 18th minute from Omar Batista. Di Sicci then made it 2-1 on the 52nd minute with a well taken one-on-one and it looked as though St Samuel had won the match only to conceed an injury time equalizer.

Next up for the Latin Crusaders was Estresse Intenso. St Samuel couldn't have asked for a better start when Sensini smashed home a screamer with only one minute played. And with such a great start St Samuel couldn't seem to put a foot wrong. Just before half time Di Sicci got his second of the tournament and with 10 minutes remaining of the match Dexter St John made it 3-0 with a fantastic solo effort to cap off a fantastic day for the Latin Crusaders.

St Samuel take on Ulzaxid next in an important match which in which a draw may just be enough for qualification. Some corners of the Ulzaxid support have complained about the lack of harmony. The St Samuel Minister for International Relations has requested that St Samuel fans show as much respect as possible to the Ulzaxid fan's a maybe try a sing some Ulzaxid songs. Hugo Belailei, head of the St Samuel supporters club said "I respect everything that the Minister for International Relations said, but we just can't sing these Ulzaxid song's, the language is just too dammed hard!"

Eels Looking for Second Round Place
A victory on the first matchday has put the hosts Turori in fine position to advance to the second group stage, thought defeat against Atheistic Right could change those plans. The hosts disposed of Baptism of Fire Champions Kiryu-shi by a 3-1 scoreline on the opening day of competition. It was the Eels who scored first through Lotuta Kanzai, before Kanzai turned distributor on Zemloi Amafaira's 14th minute goal that made the scoreline 2-0. It looked as if it was going to be a rout when Juricao Nautaha netted the third goal, but the pace slowed and Turori only held their 3-0 advantage at the half.

A spirited second half revival was not enough for Kiryu-shi, despite getting the consolation goal from Iverson. The Eels currently lie atop the Mliona-Lpaka group table on three points, however, a defeat by 3 goals or more could see the hosts crash out at the first stage, so head coach Riailia Magic will be taking nothing for granted when Atheistic Right visit the Lpaka Community Field, the smallest venue in the tournament.

Turori are favorites for the match, after Atheistic Right went down 2-1 to Kiryu-shi on matchday two. The biggest matchday 2 surprise, however, was the Qazox defeat at the hands of Commerce Heights JSY, which sent the Cednia Group favorites crashing out of the competition at the first hurdle, and causing an unsettling disruption in the Qazoxian Future-Strangely-Past Archaeology community. Bostopia will face Commerce Heights JSY on Matchday 3 for bragging rights atop the group table.

(OOC: I have to make this short. I have a final in a half hour.)

Acapais fans were bitting their nails during the duration of the match verses Swilatia. Near misses and miscommunication drew the match level for 90 minutes. Then all of the sudden in stoppage time a pass back to the keeper was misshandeled and slowly rolled into the back of the net. Acapais were gifted an own goal. Acapais fans went balistic and the Swilatia fans left the stadium. After the kickoff, A give-away to Duke led to a 50 yard shot. The Swilathian keeper was caught off his line and the wild shot hit the back of the net. 2-0 was the final score and Acapais and Anil Keswani live to play a minimum of three more games in the Second Cednia Group.

Matches against Commerce Heights JSY, Turori, Turruth Gordur will prove a difficult but advancable group. Acapais have played Commerce Heights JSY only once before in last year's Cup of Harmony 25. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Since manager Anil Keswani will be fired for anything less than a Cup of Harmony Trophy, A win against JSY on Wedensday is essential. Acapais is a slim favorite for Wedensday's fixture at 1.7 to 1 odds.

13,000 Acapais fans witnessed Acapais's bizarre win on Tuesday night. The match against JSY is supposed to attract more than 18,000.

We Have To Play With These Losers?

So, for the first time in national history, the Quakmybush Soccer team failed to qualify for the big show. The team was placed in a group with Acapais and Swilatia. In the Sharks first match, they took on Swilatia, and won with a score of 3-2. The Sharks were still reeling from their non-qualification and allowed two goals in the first half. The early in the second half Jon Fields, played like Jon Fields can, and took a shot from about 25 yards out that find the net, making it a 2-1 Swilatia lead. The team took this goal and used it as a stepping stone with Cory Sorley hitting the yawning cage to make it a 2-2 game. Then, when it looked like a draw is all that the Sharks would get, Andrew Plett came down the wing and threw the ball into the box, and Ben Miller put it into the net. The Sharks won the game 3-2.

The Sharks then took on Acapais in what was a even game until the 65th minute. When Jon Fields came down into the box and his legs were taken out from under him. Fields was awarded a penalty. He stepped up to the spot and stared down the keeper. He came up to the ball and made no mistake 1-0 Quakmybush. That is how the game ended.

The Sharks are now in a second group stage, where they will be playing, Bostopia, Kiryu-Shi and St.Samuel.

Coliseum Rises from the Dead
Malaino Mumamba was digging around the Football Association headquarters in Almintora, Turori when he found an old stack of papers. Curious and always nostalgic, Malaino stopped what he was doing, had a seat and began having a look at the papers. Many were standard memos and press releases, some communication between the Turorian and Bazalonian FA's about World Cup Hosting Bids, and even some historic documents that might have belonged in a museum, the initial comunication between the Turorian and Vilitan FA's about a merger on the regional level, a combination that has already produced two championship winning campaigns. Then he came accross something interesting.

http://www.3wideracing.com/3wide/sites/ao/turori/images/coti.gif

"Whats this?" Mumamba said, speaking in the general direction of Football Association president Gisterfred Q. Disterfred. "Looks like some sort of Stadium plans"

"Yes, I see your eyes work well." Disterfred replied. "Thats the Coliseum of the Inurahtii, we built it back when we were planning to host the World Cup with Bazalonia." Mumamba put the sketch back into the pile and began sifting through more documents. Then the conversation dawned on him. "Did you say 'Built'?" Mumamba inquired, "As in, this stadium exists?"

"Yea, it's way out by Waridi in the woodlands, we didn't have the money to finish it though when we lost out in the host bid. Half the seats haven't even been installed and much of the stadium is covered in growth now. You can't even see it unless you are right on top of it."

Mumamba couldn't believe what he was hearing. A potentially state of the art 88,000 seater stadium was being allowed to stagnate in the Turorian woodlands, and no one other than the wildlife knew it was there. Then, an idea. "Lets use it for the final, for the Cup of Harmony"

"What? Are you mad? I don't think we ever even ordered the solar panels for the thing, there won't be electricity for miles around, not to mention all the overgrowth, lack of seats.." Diesterfred was interupted by an insistent Mumamba "So what. The fans can bring butt cushions and bug spray, it will only add to the aura of the event."

"You're mad, the thing is probably beyond repair, especially on such short notice, theres no way we're hosting the final there."

"Why? All we need is a lawnmower to trim the pitch and some new nets, and it will be just as good as any pitch in the country as far as the players are concerned, but we can use the money generated from the match to fund the completion of the arena. People will be flocking for countries all over the world to see the final, they'll see the arena in person, and understand what a great venue it could be, we can have donation booths around the stadium, it will be perfect."

"You know, you just might have something there..." Disterfred sat down at his desk, and began making a few phone calls...

Match Report:

Cednia Beach Centre, Almintora, Turori – For the second time in their history, Acapais drew a Cup of Harmony match with Commerce Heights JSY. The match four years ago ended in a 1-1 draw. This year the final score was 2-2 and the number two was certainly the theme. The match had two goals scored by each team, two lead changes, two penalty kicks, two red cards, two incorrect offside calls, two angry managers, and a partridge in a pear tree. This is the first of three second group stage matches for Acapais and so far, four points looks far too few to advance. Acapais is currently in 2nd place after one match and with one point. The leaders of the group and hosts of the tournament, Turori, have three points.

Acapais national football team has been disappointed and lucky at the same time so far this Cup of Harmony. Quackmybush’s 1-0 defeat of Acapais in the first group was quite a bummer for Acapais fans, but the own goal verses Swilatia gave the fans something to celebrate.

The first half was rather boring from the neutral perspective for only five shots including the lone goal were taken. Two near misses and two easy saves started off the game. Acapais defensive midfielder Alex McKellar suffered a strained hamstring towards the end of the first half and was replaced by ‘Super Sub,’ Graham Atwater. Atwater had less than two touches on the ball before he scored his 6th ever international goal. The score was 1-0 as the referee blew his whistle for half time. McKellar is said to return as early as Thursday night's fixture verses Turruth Gordur.

The beginning of the second half offered two bad offside calls that balanced each other out in the end. The first goal scored in the 58th minute by JSY striker, Rodolfo Bolúfero, was clearly offside in the replay, however the flag stayed down and a goal was the result. Yet justice was served 13 minutes later when he was flagged for a free kick header that hit the back of the net. The official had confused the goal scorer and the other attacking player in an offside position who was not involved in the play. The goal would not count. JSY players protested and midfielder Brandon Richardson was sent off for dissent. Acapais had the advantage for what they thought the rest of the game. Then match then shifted considerably. Acapan captain Shane Murphy was sent off for the first time in his career in the 77th minute for denying a goal scoring opportunity to again Rodolfo Bolúfero. A penalty kick was awarded and cleanly taken by the JSY captain. Acapais lost their man advantage and their lead. The hearts, however, caught lucky break in the 86th minute when a Van Savage cross was disrupted by a defender inside the box. The linesman raised his flag and a penalty was called for a handball. Jose had the chance to level the match and failed for the JSY keeper Leon Petersdorf had guessed correctly saved it. To his dismay, however, the rebound landed at the foot of Oscar Van Savage who’s finishing during World Cup Qualifying was unstoppable and he planted the ball in the back of the net with his killer left foot.

Although it was not a result either of the nations particularly wanted it is something to build on in forthcoming matches.

Acapais's next group stage match is against Turruth Gordur. Acapais have faced off with the foreigners twice before in World Cup Qualifying 33. The previous results include a Turruth Gordur 4-1 battery of Acapais away from home and a 2-2 draw at Naabal Stadium.

Bostopia (3) 4
Flambriff, Auderrie 3

St Samuel are tonight celebrating possibley one of there most exciting results ever after beating Bostopia 5-4.

St Samuel took the lead on the 12th minute when midfield battle horse, Aaron De Villion headed home from a Batista cross. It didn't take long for Bostopia to equalize when Stuart Flambriff hit a long low shot from 23 yards which Corinthian was helpless to stop.

Cripps then won a penalty for Bostopia after being bought down by Tyrone Rock, which Auderrie smashed home. Just before half time Auderrie made it 3-1 with a cheeky chip over Corinthian.

St Samuel came out strong in the first half and it was Maxi Bezzi-Louaza who went on a mazy run and smashed the ball past Peter Jeffers to bring the score line to 3-2. Five minutes later Batista crossed a glorius ball into the box which Di Sicci met perfectly on the volley to fire the ball home for the equalizer.

With nearly 82 minutes gone it looked like the match was heading for a draw. St Samuel won a corner which Batista swung in and a goal mouth scramble saw the ball fall to Di Sicci who tipped the ball over the line, 4-3 to St Samuel.

The Latin Crusaders thought they had the game wrapped up but it was Auderrie who completed his hattrick when he rounded Corinthian and tapped home into an open goal.

At 4-4 and one minute of injury time left St Samuel made one last effort and a sublime flick by Sensini saw the ball fall to Dexter St John, who dinked the ball over Francis Vale and then vollyed the ball which crashed against the cross bar and then down into the back of the net, 5-4!!!!

St Samuel played out the last few seconds and as soon as the final whistle went a pile of blue shirts swamped each other in celebration to the end of an exhausting match.

St Samuel face a big test against table leaders Kiryu-shi who beat Quakmybush 6-1 to go top.

Kiryu-shi Crushes Quakmybush; Confusion Conquers

By Michio Hibbert

Almintora, Turori In one the most controversial games in the brief history of Kiryu-shi football, the Dragons beat Quakmybush by the score of six to one. It would have been one of the greatest games the Kiryu-shi has ever played, except that no one could remember the match. The first five minutes were not very memorable, however, as the evening progressed, a hazy cloud descended around the stadium, and this reporter has no memories of what happened after the 6th minute or so. People in the crowd started waking up around a half hour after the match should have ended, while the two teams and the refs were nowhere to be found. The scoreboard was completely filled out, however, and it is still unclear if the match was actually played. The goal scorers, according to the scoreboard, were Mayberry, with two goals, and Gandy, Iverson, Pruett and McGee. The scorer for Quakmybush was listed as Cory Sorley.

____Immediate suspicion falls on Kiryu-shi or Kiryu-shi fans, and full investigations will be made into The Kiryu-shi Football Alliance as well as various Kiryu-shi football fan clubs that have sprung up in the last few months. No Kiryu-shi football related group has released an official statement as of now. We will be reporting on all investigations as the progress. Meanwhile, Kiryu-shi now is in first place due to the huge victory, which is being counted as an official match. They will face St. Samuel next under heavy security to try to maintain their first place status. Luckily, there were cameras the match, and as soon as the networks release the tapes we will have a better understanding of what happened.

Whoops

The Quakmybush Soccer Team was embarrassed. Totally embarrassed, they took on Kiryu-Shi, and due to some very odd weather in Turori, no one knows exactly what happened at the match. Around the fifth minute a haze rolled across the field and no one could see the match. About 2 hours later the haze rolled away and everyone awoke to a score board that showed 6-1 Kiryu-Shi. The Quakmybush fans in the crowd were shocked and a bit agitated.

The next game the team played was against Bostopia, and it was a yawner, a 0-0 draw. The Sharks will advance with a win over St. Samuel and hopefully keep their ranking up.

In an amazing twist of fate, the Bostopian National Team find themselves in a position to qualify for the knockout stages of an outside region competition for the first time since the team played its first game in 1879.

With a win over Kiryu-shi later tonight, and Quakmybush beating or drawing against St.Samuel - who we lost 5 - 4 to despite a hattrick from Harry Auderrie - Bostopia may find themselves the second placed team in the group, dependant on goal difference.

Once again, it all comes down to the numbers for Bostopia, and a great team performance. However, with Kiryu-shi having won both games, it is likely they are looking to go three and zero and wrap up the group stage perfectly.

In a press conference earlier, Adam Collick, potentially managing his last game with Bostopia had said that team was "fully prepared", noting that their failure to get a World Cup playoff place had "bucked up their act, to ensure we don't go out based on our league position again." However, Collick stated that if this was to be his last game, then he'd be disappointed, but "history would once again close the door on a wonderful period in the Bostopian timeline", one that he had been "proud to steer through and direct".

"I was at the Quakmybush Kiryu-shi football match, and there wasn't any chemical fog over the stadium. It was dark, and it was very humid, and you couldn't see anything, but it wasn't anything malicious! Many fans fell asleep due to boredom and because it was late, and other fans went home early, but I stayed up the entire game listening to the faint sound of whistles blowing and people running. I'm not saying that your reporter fell asleep on the job and was too confused to figure out what happened, but all I know is that the match was played, and there were no unnatural forces at play.
-Bruce in Piscatayama

Editor's note:
The only logical conclusion to this mess that we could think up is that our highly respected volunteer reporter, Michio Hibbert, who we hear was the assistant sports editor for his Junior High School newspaper, was the only person targeted by anti-news activists using knock-out gas that was hidden in the fog. We have taken the necessary measures to sternly tell him, via text-message, that he should somehow acquire a gasmask in order to prevent it from ever happening again.

St Samuel were defeated 3 goals to nil against a strong Kiryu-shi, who now top the group table. This leaves St Samuel with 3 points needing a win tonight against Quakmybush in order to gurantee qualification to the knockout stage.

If St Samuel draw and Bostopia win, it will be Bostopia who qualify due to having a better goal difference. Nearly 80,000 St Samuel fans have made the trip to Turori and only half are expected to be able to get into the Almintora National Stadium.

Kiryu-shi Maintains First Place; Little Threat of Imminent Chemical Warfare

By Michio Hibbert

Almintora, Turori Although the week started with panic about radical football-related organizations engaging in chemical warfare to let Kiryu-shi win their match against Quakmybush, those rumors were somehow proved erroneous, although this reporter still remains very wary, as a reputable secret inside source from somewhere has indicated that the threat level remains high enough to warrant the use of gas masks for certain individuals in the stadium for the match against St. Samuel. However none of the players and officials felt the need wear the uncomfortable and bulky mask, and at precisely 21 minutes and 14 seconds into the match, the last remaining person with a mask on, a very good looking, sharply dressed, intelligent man sitting in the press box, removed his mask, and the threat of chemical warfare seemed very low. The Kiryu-shi team was not bothered by the threat at all, as they shut out their opponents to win their second game in the second group stage in the Cup of Harmony. With the win, they ensured a spot in the knockouts of the Cup, and barring a huge loss against Bostopia, and a huge win by Quakmybush against St. Samuel, the number one seed in their group.

____The match started off well for Kiryu-shi as they dictated the pace early, controlling the ball in the midfield as they moved efficiently around the pitch. However, they had a hard time creating any real chances as the Bostopia defense held strong for most of the first half. Kiryu-shi finally create a very good chance in the 43rd minute when Pat Mayberry ducked and wove to the front of the net with the ball, but when he laid the pass to Garret McGee for what should have been an easy goal, McGee mistepped a little bit rocketed the ball above the net. The first half ended with no score. Kiryu-shi started the second half playing the same way, but got more luck breaking down the Bostopia defense. In the 51st minute, a great pass by Hellen Gandy opened up a goal scoring opportunity for Mayberry, who knocked the ball in between a defender’s legs to score the first goal of the day. Gandy got another assist in the 63rd minute, when her pass was perfectly timed with Giancario Diamanti’s run in from the left wing. He cut the ball back with his first touch as a defender over-pursued, and knocked the ball inside the far side netting to put Kiryu-shi up two. McGee made up for his earlier blunder in the 79th minute, as he volleyed a cross by Isaac Levi to put the finishing touches on a dominating win for Kiryu-shi.

____Coach Bruce Lewis said that, “this is the most confident we’ve been since winning our first tournament,” as they won for the third strait game in this tournament. They currently have scored the most goals (9) and given up the least (1) out of any team in the second round of the Cup of Harmony ahead of even the hosts, Turori, who are tied for second in both of those categories. Kiryu-shi fans will be observing the scoreboard during their next match against Bostopia to see who they will face in the knockout portion. There seems to be a desire among fans to avoid Turori, who remained undefeated this cup with a three to one win last match.

[Conway] Coming up to the final seconds of the game, the score is Kiryu-shi nil, Bostopia nil. Aleksander Cripps to take the corner from the right hand side. He feeds the ball in high toward the six yard box but it’s punched clear by the goalkeeper, and Kiryu-shi come forward.

Iverson with the ball, but forward comes Vale, who takes the ball off the Kiryu-shi midfielder with an inch-perfect tackle. Vale runs forward with the ball down the left hand channel, cuts inside past Levi, and hits a left foot SHOT! GOAL! VALE SCORES! IN THE DYING SECONDS! It’s Bostopia one, Kiryu-shi nil! The goal the Bostopians needed is finally come!

[Avery] Oh that’s just wonderful, a left foot shot driven into the top-right corner, the keeper had no chance of getting that, none!

---Some Minutes Later---

[Conway] THAT’S IT! It’s over! Bostopia win, and the players are on the pitch awaiting the score from the Quakmybush - St.Samuel game…which Quakmybush have won 4 – 0…where does that leave us?

[Avery] I’ve just worked it out, Quakmybush and Bostopia are on four points each, Bostopia on a goal difference of zero and Quakmybush on minus 1! Bostopia are in the semi-finals! They’ve done it!

[Conway] And the players have heard too! They’ve heard! It’s confirmed, we’re in the Semi-Final, playing against Turori, who drew two-all with Acapais, which keeps Turori top of their Group! So it’s Turori, the hosts, versus Bostopia, at the Cednia Beach Centre! Hope to see you there!

[Parriff] Welcome back to Channel 9 Griffwitness News, Bostopia. And now for the sport, on the eve of Bostopia’s semi-final game against Turori, it’s Kelly Firth outside the FA’s Headquarters at Heartwick House, in downtown Fort Boston. Kelly, you’re dressed!?!

[Firth] I’m actually not, Jamie, this is just body paint. As you know, it’s body pride week in Bostopia, and I thought “why not?” Anyway, onto the sport, as Jamie previously mentioned Bostopia are playing in the Semi-Final of the Cup of Harmony tomorrow, against hosts Turori. Turori, who have a strong record this cup, winning all but one of their second group stage games, will be tough competition, but Bostopia will not be looking at previous form, because form counts for nothing now we’re into the cup competitions.

National Team manager Adam Collick has surely been motivating the players ahead of the game, while keeping their feet firmly on the ground.

Back in Bostopia though, the party atmosphere will definitely be in place, with the big screen TV again being erected in Fort Boston Castle Plaza, with the after-game party drifting into Fort Boston Park, whatever the result. And with that, it’s back to Jamie in the studio.

Kiryu-shi Loses Thriller; Advance to Knockouts

By Michio Hibbert

Almintora, Turori In the last match of the second group round of this year’s Cup of Harmony tournament, Kiryu-shi lost a thrilling battle with the children on the Bostopia team hungry to advance to the next stage. Kiryu-shi, who had already clinched a berth in the final four with a win of St. Samuel last match, was trying to hold onto the first seed to avoid playing the hosts Turori again. Kiryu-shi’s numerous attacks throughout the game were thwarted by the tremendous defending of the Bostopia back line, as Kiryu-shi defenders managed to hold their own against the Bostopia attack. It was a tremendously up and down match, with little midfield play, but no one could seem to put the ball into the net. A few goals were called back because of offsides for both teams, and the fans were going crazy leading into the final minutes of the match. In the 89th minute, a Bostopia corner kick was deflected by keeper Jon Crow out to the midfield, were Iverson tried to lead a quick counter attack. However, Francis Vale, with an incredible individual effort, stole the ball and scored within a matter of seconds. His shot with time winding down stood up, and Bostopia celebrated their victory and second place finish in the group.

____Meanwhile, in the other group, Acapais tied Turori to finish in second place. Kiryu-shi will play the 63rd ranked Acapais squad for the opportunity to play in the Cup of Harmony championship game, against the winner of the Bostopia-Turori match. Kiryu-shi is by far the lowest ranked team remaining, and has already lost both games they have played against the remaining teams. However, Acapais is the second lowest ranked team, and Kiryu-shi has yet to play the relatively new squad. Acapais has Cup of Harmony experience, after being knocked out of the last one in the quarter-finals. Kiryu-shi will hope to end their run again, and advance once more to play in the finals.

Inurahtii plans nixed by Safety Board
The Safety & Health Initiative of Turori (SHIT) has quickly shot down plans by the Football Association of Turori to open the doors of the Coliseum of the Inurahtii publicly for the Cup of Harmony final. While they have passed the 'pitch' worthy for competition, if the Football Association wishes to host the match at the unfinished arena, it will have to be done without spectators. While the Football Association of Turori is considering the possibility, it is widely expected that the final will be held instead at the Almintora National Stadium which can hold 78,000 fans.

This will be especially crucial should the Eels qualify for the finals, as it is unlikely that the entire nation will be pleased to simply sit out a cup final in their own country. If they are to qualify for the finals, however, they must defeat Bostopia at the Cednia Beach Centre in the finals. Bostopia overcame in-form Kiryu-shi on the final day of the second group stage to steal the second spot in the Second Almintora group from Quakmybush. The Bostopian's, who have for some reason been walking around naked and painted all week long like they were the Qazox women's national team, will not go down without a fight, with the winner in Cednia going into the final as clear favorites over weaker opposition in the Almintora semi-final.

[Conway] HE’S MISSED! If Bostopia score their fourth penalty, it’s all over for Turori.

[Avery] It looks like it’s…it’s Peter Jeffers! The goalkeeper! He’s going to take it! Could the nearly 11 year old keeper be Bostopia’s ticket to the Cup of Harmony final? He’ll be a hero either way, hit or miss, one of the two Turori misses were saved by him!

[Conway] And here we go, it’s Jeffers versus Miao, goalkeeper verus goalkeeper...the referee blows his whistle…Jeffers runs up! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! BOSTOPIA WIN FOUR – ONE ON PENALTIES! BOSTOPIA ARE THROUGH TO THE CUP OF HARMONY FINAL!

[Avery] It’s nothing short of amazing! It’s absolutely amazing! There have been odds against us, there has been teams against us, but we overcame them all, and now it’s a Bostopia - Kiryu-shi final!

---Fort Boston Park, Fort Boston---

[Firth] Thanks Jamie. I’m here with these hundreds of thousands of Bostopia fans celebrating their semi-final win in the Cup of Harmony, spilling out from Fort Boston Plaza, and from all over Fort Boston coming into the park. As this game and the final is coinciding with body pride week, the number of stands catering for sunscreen are at a maximum, not to mention body painting! Let’s go talk to someone in the queue now.

Hi, I’m Kelly Firth and you’re LIVE on Channel 9 Griffwitness News, Bostopia! What’s your name and where you coming from today?

[Fan] My name’s Mark Jinnaer and I’m from Fierfeld!

[Firth] Oh, that’s not far from here, so, tell me, what’re you going to get done?

[Jinnaer] Well, I’m getting the moment when Jeffers hit the final penalty into the top-right corner done. Should look great!

[Firth] I’m sure it will! It’ll be a shame when it gets washed off though.

[Jinnaer] This isn’t the tattoo stand?

[Firth] No, this is the body paint stand.

[Jinnaer] Oh, erm, sorry.

[Firth] Alright. Well, as you know, Bostopia ARE in the Cup of Harmony final, and they are playing Kiryu-shi in what is Adam Collick’s last ever game as manager of Bostopia. He and the team can go into the game with high expectations, having beaten Kiryu-shi by one goal to nil to qualify for the knockout stage of this tournament. Kiryu-shi, of course, with their national newspaper proclaiming themselves “by far the lowest ranked team remaining”, may feel they have something to prove being the underdogs, and getting a chance at some revenge for Bostopia, so they will not be taken lightly by anyone wearing the red, white and blue.

We can announce that the final will be covered on Channel 9 Sports, and I’ll be in Turori, seeing as no Bostopians appear to have been arrested for walking round nude, with all the post-match coverage, and then flying home with the team.

So, for now, it’s back to the studio, and I’ll see you in Turori for the Cup of Harmony final.

Kiryu-shi Edges Out Acapais, Advance To Finals

By Michio Hibbert

Almintora, Turori Kiryu-shi’s success in the Cup of Harmony continues as they manage to come up with the overtime win over Acapais, two to one. Kiryu-shi, who wore pink uniforms to spread breast cancer awareness, scored with three minutes left against to drown the Hearts hopes of a Cup of Harmony championship for the second consecutive time, as they lost in the 25th Cup of Harmony to Zwangzug, the eventual overall winners, in the quarterfinals. Kiryu-shi will hope to emulate the success of Zwangzug against Bostopia, a team who beat Kiryu-shi one nil in the last group stage match.

____Kiryu-shi started off the match slowly as they seemed over anxious, causing them to over pursue attackers and kick the ball wildly in both passes and shots. Their sub-standard play, however, didn’t cause any lasting damage, as spectacular play by Jon Crow, whose had a quiet run amid grumblings over his status as a starter, kept the score at zero-zero. Kiryu-shi didn’t manage to get a single shot off until the 22nd minute, when Pat Mayberry sent a driving shot from just outside the penalty area off of a pass from Isaac Levi, but the shot sailed high into the crowd. Both side backs, Levi and Sidney Hendrickson, were playing very aggressively, which left the three center-backs isolated against Acapais attacks. The Acapais players managed to get a few break away opportunities, however Ricardo Jose was off his game, and missed several easy shots by inches, hitting the left post twice in the first half alone, both shots coming in one on one situations against Crow. Kiryu-shi was lucky to survive the first half unscathed. Acapais had held the ball 71% of the time and had outshot the Dragons thirteen to two.

____THe Kiryu-shi team looked completely different as they came out of the gates to start the second half. They were much more calm, settling into passing patterns and well-formulated attacks. Strings of short, crisp passes continued from the back line up to the wings and they were beginning to get real chances against the Acapais defense. The Levi-Mayberry connection was especially effective, creating openings along the right side to cross the ball to players in the middle. In the 57th minute, Mayberry’s cross to Garret McGee almost produced a goal as McGee’s header appeared to sail by the keeper Matthew Dickenson into the net, but a spectacular play by the heads up Shane Murphy, the captain of the Acapais squad, saved goal, as he leapt up to deflect the net-bound goal with his head to give away a corner kick. Although Kiryu-shi was able to keep up the attack, Levi and Hendrickson’s positioning lead to the opening goal for Acapais. In the 83rd minute, when Hendrickson had the ball taken away by Shaurabh Nandy on the wing, Acapais led a quick counter attack up through Alex McKellar and Salvador Salazar. Salazar, with Doug LeBlanc coming out to apply pressure, delivered a diagonal pass that found Ricardo Jose, who was racing past Matthew Pruet. Jose didn’t botch this chance, and he was able to slide a shot by Jon Crow to put the Hearts up by one. Kiryu-shi played even more aggressively as the final minutes ticked off the clock. I the 87th minute, Kiryu-shi finally broke through. Iverson’s looping pass down the left wing met a run by Giancario Diamanti, who flicked a no look pass behind him to Emily Boyle, who had come on to replace the exhausted Hellen Gandy after the goal. Boyle, after cutting past a defender, crossed the ball to the far side of the net, where Pat Mayberry made a sliding kick to tie the game and send it into overtime. Overtime was a tense affair, as both teams struggled to get anything together. Acapais came closest with a shot that grazed the crossbar seven minutes into the first overtime, but Kiryu-shi was able to score the game winning goal with three minutes remaining when Emily Boyle scrambled to get a loose ball and then broke past the defenders and scored a one on one goal against the opposing keeper.

____Kiryu-shi will look forward to play against Bostopia in the finals, where Bostopia are the favorites in the rankings. It will be a hostile environment in Turori, as basically all of the general population of Kiryu-shi don’t have enough money to get tickets. The only tickets provided for them are bought by the Kiryu-shi government and distributed by random lottery to Kiryu-shi citizens and soccer fans. However, Kiryu-shi only bought enough tickets to fill around ten percent of the stadium, as Bostopia fans seem to line the streets of Almintora in anticipation of the match. Kiryu-shi players will have to play even better than they did in the semi-final match if they hope to win the championship. Regardless of the outcome, Kiryu-shi is one of the success stories of international soccer, coming to the Cup of Harmony finals in their first ever year of international play.

[Conway] To take the final penalty kick for Bostopia is...Aleksander Cripps, he's heading toward the ball. If he scores, Bostopia win. If not, it goes into sudden death with the scores tied at 1 - 1. He's still making

---Fort Boston Castle, Fort Boston, Bostopia---

The Emperor and Empress were sat on the couch in their suite in the castle, watching the penalty shootout.

Come on Aleksander...come on...

---Aleksander Cripps---

[Cripps'] To the left. "Hit it to your left, Aleksander. Make sure it rises though, Aleksander. Keeper's can't keep going up forever, Aleksander. Gravity, Aleksander, gravity is the key." Thanks dad... the ball's so far away still. Is the goal smaller? I think it is. There's the left hand side. That's where it's going. To the left. That's it.

The referee blows his whistle

[Cripps] To the left...

Aleksander Cripps runs up to the ball, sat firmly on the white circle 12 yards away from the goalline...he hits it sweetly with the inside of his right boot, toward the left hand side of the goal...the keeper's dived left though...but he can't get it! [b]GOAL!

[Cripps] It's in! IT'S IN!

The wall of sound surrounds Aleksander Cripps as he turns back toward his team mates, as he runs through a narrow corridor with the sound of roaring fans on either side of him, finally reaching his manager, Adam Collick, who has tears streaming down his face.

The Kiryu-shi players look disheartened, though find themselves being congratulated on a great showing by the Bostopian team as they begin to pick themselves up.

---Fort Boston Castle, Fort Boston, Bostopia---

The Emperor jumps out of his seat, almost knocking his can of beer over the Empress.

[Boston] GOAL! CHRISTINE GOAL! WE WIN!

The Emperor slides on across the carpet, and would have given a small yelp of pain as the skin is worn off his knees, if it wasn't for the adrenaline coursing through his veins.

---Commentary Booth, Almintora National Stadium, Turori---

[Conway] He's scored! Bostopia win the Cup of Harmony! Their first major tournament win! The Adam Collick era ends with a win, and the new era begins with gold under the team's belts!

[Avery] ...

[Conway] And I've got to stop now, because I've got a lump in my throat.

---Almintora National Stadium, Turori---

The Bostopian team, lead by captain Stuart Flambriff, applaud the Kiryu-shi players as they head across the podium to collect their runners-up medals. It's a shame someone had to lose in a great game, but it's football.

Finally, the Bostopian team have their long-awaited chance to collect their silverware. Flambriff climbs the step, dressed in the all-red kit of Bostopia, followed by his team mates. He gets his medal first, then stands behind the trophy waiting for the rest of the team. A massive cheer goes up from the crowd with the announcement of the Bostopian player getting their medal.

[Announcer] Ladies and Gentlemen, the victors of the Cup of Harmony held in Turori...BOSTOPIA!

Stuart Flambriff lifts the Cup of Harmony trophy high above his head, as red white and blue fireworks shoot up into the sky behind him.

[Firth] I'm Kelly Firth, and welcome back to coverage of Bostopia's Victory Parade in Fort Boston! As we head down Langvale Avenue, about to turn left into Dringfeld Road, and pass the FA Headquarters at Heartwick House, I have with me Adam Collick. Adam, stupid question, can you describe how you're feeling?

[Collick] I feel great, honestly. To win the cup on my final match in charge, and with such a spirited performance…full credit to the Kiryu-shi lads and lasses though, this time last year, they were entering the Baptism of Fire, then winning it, then getting to the Cup of Harmony and losing on penalties. They’re truly a name on the football scene, and I hope we see them again. But today, it’s about Bostopia, and letting the fans celebrate with us and congratulate the team’s win.

[Firth] That it is. Adam, what were you thinking when Aleksander stepped up?

[Collick] I was hoping he was going to put it to the right. The keeper had saved everything put to the left, but no, Aleksander decided not to. He told me after the game he always knew he was going to put it left, so that’s how it goes. I was pretty nervous though to tell the truth. I’m thankful it’s over.

[Firth] Speaking of over, what will you be doing now you’re leaving?

[Collick] I’ve been in this job 29 years, it’ll be hard. Well, the Emperor has given me a massive bit of land in the family holdings in Caflin State and told me money is no object when it comes to what type of house I want. I think I’ll go for something small.

[Firth] With a football net out the back for the Grandchildren?

[Collick] Oh definitely. It’s a nice place, there’s a bit of woodland and a stream and stuff.

[Firth] Ok, well, we’re going to cut away from me in a minute because we’re nearly at Fort Boston Castle Plaza, where you’re joining up with the Royal Family to transfer celebrations into the Fort Boston Park, so, Adam, what’s been your proudest moment?

[Collick] Beating Sel Appa.

[Firth] Hahaha, that’s fair enough. Any final words for the camera, Adam?

[Collick] Yes. I’d like to thank Turori for hosting and the teams who showed up for the tournament. Without teams, and players, who would we be? Also, I’d like to thank the teams I’ve had the honour of managing against such as Liverpool England, Bazalonia, Quakmybush, Commerce Heights…urr…Capitalist SLANI, the Elves Security Forces, Krytenia, Bettia, Jerusalem…hah, Jerusalem. Who can forget Dazza? And then lately, Rejistania and Milchama. All such good teams, all such good games. I’ve got to know most of the manager’s personally pretty well. It’d have been nice to see a bit more of Ms.Dallas though.

But most of all, I’d like to thank the fans. It’s said too often, but they were the 12th man that carried us right the way through those World Cup Qualifiers, and then through the three Cup of Harmony’s, until, finally, their dedication paid off. Thank you.
