Official Joint Statement of the Liberty Alliance, Former President Alexander Kazansky, and several other entities

For very long, the United States of Allanea has seen itself as the world's spearhead of liberty, a glorious defender of justice and truth. Our soldiers have fought for this vision on the shores of Antanjyl, in the streets of Zenti, in the skies of Yurka, in orbit of New-Wuhan, in Axackal, in Iragia, in Agujero, in Kahanistan. Millions of Allaneans, billions of foreigners have died in sacrifice to this idea.

Abroad, the United States has been praised by some, vilified by many – as 'imperialists', as 'murderers', as 'purveyors of mindless war'. We have suffered boycotts, invasions, and even an attempted genocide that had cost the lives of two hundred million civilians. It is perhaps time, after all this loss, to do a basic cost-benefit analysis of the doctrine of excessive interventionism – what has been labeled by our critics as the Kazansky Doctrine.

The original purpose of the Doctrine had been to promote Allanean state interests, while simultaneously spreading liberty all over the globe.

When billions are exterminated with total warfare, entire planets are cleaned of life and star systems purged even of bacteria - it is perhaps necessary to conclude that it is time to update one's approach.

When millions of our own Freemen die, and dozens of millions lose their jobs due to international boycotts, perhaps it is necessary to conclude that the method chosen to promote the state interest of Allanea should be altered.

When the very man who came up with a political doctrine says it is now out of date, it is quite likely time that it is time to re-evaluate it's principles.

When an arms manufacturer condemns war, it is quite likely that the foreign policy of a nation is way too warlike.

We the undersigned implore President Cuddy, the leadership of the Tripartisan Coalition, and the other leaders of Allanea to step away from the Doctrine, and to avoid using the United States Military's full destructive power on every godforsaken hole that happens to have a communist revolution.

We the undersigned implore the people of Allanea, to endorse those Congressmen – and to ask their state legislatures to vote for those Senators – who will step away from the policy of mindless violence.

We ask for nothing but peace.

We believe that it is indeed high time that the Allanean government took stock of its military options and formulated a new policy with regard to interventionism.

While government control of the means of production merely changes the oppressor from a multinational megagiant to the government that claims to be protecting the workers in the name of communism, massive military intervention should be restricted to those nations that are committing genocide or mass murder, and civilian populations should never be targeted in warfare.

Interventionism is good, but only when lives are at stake or a conflict can be concluded rapidly with minimal loss of life should armed force be employed.

Rachel C. Levitt,

Message from the Imperial Shogunate

We would also like to congratulate the citizens of Allanea for finally coming to the realization that their nation has been at the spearhead of operations whose basis is questionable at best.

Allanea has long declared itself a defender of liberty, when its own operations are sometimes nearly as bad as what they are fighting. Communism, though not the best economic system, is not a reason to go to war, or even warranting of a "liberation". Allanea would be smarter to reserve it's might for matters where it is truly needed; in matters of genocide and such.

We hope that the government will listen to the voices of its citizens and end the sometimes pointless bloodshed, and to begin taking more diplomatic routes in the future.

Freemen.

Allaneans.

We understand – we truly do – that you wish your nation to continue being a beacon for truth, justice, and liberty all over the world. And frankly, so do we. But think of it like this – does it truly help the cause of liberty to deploy troops at the drop of a hat, in places most of the people in the nation can't find without Googlemaps?

Military intervention is like currency – if you do too much of it, it becomes worthless.
We ask you to support House Bill 45-455 – a bill to reduce funding for force-projection capabilities of the navy, and put stern conditions on when, exactly, the Allanean military can deploy.

Do it for the sake of the very things you believe i.

For truth. Justice. For freedom.

"And in other news, as a partial response to the growing peace movement pressure, Congress has voted to authorize the Department of Defense to decommission and disassemble their A7V Peacemaker tanks, their Rapid Deployment Light Infantry divisions, and to reduce military personnel numbers by 400,000 people. However, Liberty Alliance leadership has expressed their displeasure with this. In part, Kevin Nivensky has been quoted as saying: "Not good enough. It's not a question of how many guns we have, but how responsibly we use them."

From the FOEnet program 'Eye on Imperialism':

"...hypocrites. But why should anyone be surprised? Capitalists wage war for corporate profit. When the gains of imperialist war have been somewhat consolidated and the war business itself becomes unprofitable, the 'defender of freedom ' becomes the 'great peacemaker.' The metamorphosis is neither honest nor stable. The two-faced nature..."

"Allanean Luminaries deliver petition calling for disarmament."

Liberty City, Allanea--

A petition was recently circulated around Allanea today calling for the end of the policy analysts have dubbed the "Kazansky Doctrine," the military policy of the Allanean Government that endorses intervention to promote Allanean interests, sponsored by a number of luminaries that, among their ranks, includes the ex-President of Allanea himself, Alexander Kazansky.

"It would seem the Allaneans are beginning to change their minds about war," commented Dr. Leonard Michelsen at the Hubert Center for International Politics, based at the University of California. "While this petition is from high luminaries in Allanean society, the limited disarmament conducted by their Department of Defense seems to indicate that this may be the beginning of a growing and strong peace movement."

Videos in favor of a plan to limit the size of the military, dubbed "House Bill 45-555," circulated on NSYoutube. In reply, many New Dornalians are reacting in violently diverging ways.

"They may have disarmed. But I will not forgive them for their crimes. I was there at New Wuhan, and my family died at the hands of their warfleets! And the fact that a bunch of rich suckers got the people to jump isn't comforting me. I want some actual compensation," commented an anonymous NSYoutube user.

Others are more accepting.

"They committed a great crime yes, and that cannot be disputed. But we cannot allow that to poison our mindset towards them; at least they know they've messed up and they're admitting their mistakes. Let's give them that much, and forgive them," said Father George O'Brien, Archbishop of New York.

And yet still others are in the middle. The Government would only say, "We applaud the Allanean committment to peace, something which is lacking these days."
