Official Press Release from the United Solaris Federation of Tiburon and the Federated Segments of Scolopendra
In accordance with the historic commitments to democracy, progressivism, and egalitarianism that the United Solaris Federation of Tiburon and the Federated Segments of Scolopendra have traditionally had and in recognition of the close cultural, political, and alliance ties that these two nations share, the governments of the United Solaris Federation of Tiburon and the Federated Segments of Scolopendra are pleased to announce a merger of these two states into a nation that will henceforth be known as the United Federated Solaris Segments of Tibupendra.
The constitution of the new government, which is really an amalgamation of the constitutions of the two previous governments, maintains the commitments to sentient rights and liberties that the previous constitutions had maintained. The new constitution has been ratified by the legislative branches of both governments, which convened late last night in a new session of the Legislative Consortium Unit. The executive branch is to be headed jointly by the elected leaders of the Tiburonese and Scolopendran polities, and will collectively be known as the Executive Presidential Unit until the current terms of office of both leaders expire (the dates of which occur simultaneously), after which a new Supreme President is to be elected. The judiciary systems shall be similarly combined.
After careful review, the new Tibupendran government has decided to make the new combined unit of currency the altean workrep (ÅWR), a unit of currency based on both the altea (Å) and the workrep (WR), both of which were miraculously at a one-to-one ratio the previous day. The government of Tibupendra shall continue to honor the treaties and agreements that each individual government had signed with other nations, and shall consider these agreements to be in force throughout the entirety of Tibupendra. The new Tibupendran flag and motto can be seen at the bottom. The capital of Tibupendra shall remain New York City.
On behalf of our now-combined polities, we would like to reinforce our message of unity with allies, friendship to all sentients, and commitments to progressivism.

Editor's notes, the New York Times: The new United Federated Solaris Segments of Tibupendra (UFSST) is set to be one of the largest countries in the multiverse, with a combined population of 18.099 billion, making it only smaller than the NDA Dominion and the Menelmacari-Ctani combine (if, indeed, those two states can be considered a single entity). Its military and economic might aside, Tibupendra is also now one of the largest states in the Triumvirate of Yut and the Alliance of Progressive Nations, and streches across "a million billion star systems", in the words of one unnamed ToY Council member. The new Tibupendran motto, which is in my opinion an awkward amalgamation of the two nations' previous mottos, is "For idealism, for the people, for liberty, for science, at all costs!"
