It's now time for another legacy hockey tournament to start! The first one saw Quakmybush winning. Will it be your turn this time? To know about it, you just have to sign-up for this World Cup of Hockey!

I'm now going to introduce you to the rankings. To see them: same way as in the World Cup: It's on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. If you can't see them, I can do an Open Office version as well, this is not a problem. So, here are the rankings after World Cup oh Hockey 1: http://www.filefactory.com/file/9a6ab5/

Here's a "simple" description of the formula used to rank:

w* = number of wins
t* = number of ties
otl* = number of ot losses
gs* = group strenght
q* = qualification bonus
pow* = number of playoff wins
totpts = total points

* = 1: most recent cup
* = 2: 2nd most recent cup
* = 3: 3rd most recent cup

totpts = squareroot((gs1(w1*2+t1+otl1)+q1+pow1+1))+squareroot([(2/3)(gs2(w2*2+t2+otl2)+q2+pow2+1)])+squareroot([(1/3)(gs3(w3*2+t3+otl3)+q3+pow3+1)])

Calculation of group strenght:

x = group's average rankings
y = highest group's average rankings

x/y

note that, for WCoH I, every group had a strenght of 1.

As well, you may know we'll need a host. So if you're interested, same as before: propose yourself.

Finally, an Excel scorinator. It's been too freaking long, and with that in mind, not only with the MIHL be cobbling together a team made of the finest men to don skates and more than a few who would appear to have been released from jail solely to participate, we also wish to host this iteration of the Cup.

lern2comprehension, that's not a scorinator, those are rankings. Bugger, no chance of getting to host then. Query - in the last cup did roleplays count for anything significant? And if not, dammit why not?

In return we threaten to bring along a Devil's Tongue Flame Tank (courtesy of the Brotherhood of Nod) instead of a zamboni, to burn away the grass, and also Sub-Zero (courtesy of Shang Tsung) to create a surface appropriate for ice hockey.

And we'll bring an extra zamboni.

I'll except that challenge... Hockey is after all the national sport of Fort Europe, though Football has become far more dominant in the last few years.
