Zwangzug

The judges closed another window. "Was sending these files by internet really the best thing to do?"
"And here's another idiot who thought he was memming a hymn...Where's Red Knight when you need him?"
"Ariddia, right? Being a genius or something?"
"I'll tell you what, it doesn't take a genius to know that funding these [bleep]ing churches leads to more Ketrian...I give up, I really do."
"Hold on, one more. Benny Angle."
"What, he can't have gotten his heart broken again!"
"He could have too. Listen up..."
They adjusted the volume as his voice poured in. "Well," the second judge finally admitted, "he beats the alternatives."
Double Helix: Benny Angle

Bazalonia
03-03-2007, 02:22
The finals for the Singing Bazalope commpetition were being held the contenders for the title were abuzz with anticipation, the requirements of the songs was that they had to be originals written in Bazalonia. This was the only requirement. Let's have a look at the songs in contention.
Last Love of November, Performed by Hellen Ray. The story of a woman that is seemingly extremely unlucky in love, until the end of spring late in her life she finds someone, her journey complete. They live only for a short time but a ver fulfilling one. The message was it is better to know true love for a short time then to never experience it at all. (N.B. November is the last month of Spring in Bazalonia)
All Around, Performed by Charlie Daniels: About a man who never set himself in any place for long. He looks back at his past and his future and he doesn't like what he sees.
Bazalope, Performed by Jonah Keel: A slightly comical song that looks at the life of a Bazalope and the wishing by the artist that his life was like that.
There were a few others but none of them were really in contention for the title.
The competition had completed and it was now time for the announcement. Bazalonia would be represented in the WorldVision Tournament in Swilatia by....
Bazalope by Jonah Keel.

Cercanto Ligna ("Bent Halo") is a rock/gothic band from Brutland City. Its members are (from left to right) Thorizio Lacunelli [guitar], Adam di Padania [drums/percussion], Adriana LaBianca [vocals], Kail Stelcchio [vocals/flute], and Pierro Gardefini [bass].
The band was first formed in early 2006 as "Abitadettu Infernoque" (= Hell's Residents) by Lacunelli, Gardefini, and di Padania. They played contemporary Nord-Brutlandese rock around Brutland City, with either Lacunelli or Gardefini doing the vocals. Later they discovered LaBianca (a nurse) on one of their gigs. After LaBianca joined, they independently recorded their first single "Rembrente Doglia" [=Dark Remembrance] with the help of LaBianca's boyfriend, Kail Stelcchio (a medical student in the University of Brutland and Norden). Stelcchio also helped them record their other single, "Disacrazione" [=Distraction].
The band decided to rename themselves Cercanto Ligna and invite Stelcchio into the band. "Disacrazione" gained popularity in rock radio stations around the Kingdom. They become more popular when they got invited to play as guest musicians in the program "N.A./Nobbiocenessima Avita" [=Most Requested Live] of state broadcaster Televiso Rinna di Norden e Marchòbrutellia [TRNM, Royal Brutland and Norden Television]. Despite N.A.'s known predilection for pop music, Cercanto Ligna garnered acclaim. TRNM asked the band if they could represent the country in the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest. They agreed, and began working on a song tentatively titled "La C'hiasmo" [=The Chasm], which would be the Kingdom's official entry to the contest.

Official entry of Brutland and Norden: "La C'hiasmo" by Cercanto Ligna
(OOC: Should credits be needed, I made the pic using The Sims 2. I was thinking of posting the entire pic, but I resorted to the thumbnail 'cause I don't want to overload Jolt, ImageShack, or dial-up users. But if you can, please view the pic. ;) Thanks!)
The lovisan representing isŁ
Wet Fingers with song: Hi Fi superstar
Bostopia
04-03-2007, 11:37
[Byrne] And now for the results of the voting for the Bostopian entry into the WorldVision contest...I think the results are on screen. Yes, there they are.
1st - Emperor Boston & The Empress - Crazy Geesemonkey - 81%
2nd - The Bowsies - Your Heart, 1000 Miles - 18%
3rd - Socialist Band of Bostopia - We Love Dr.Vlad - 1%
And there you have it. A massive political message there, with Emperor Boston coming well first, and the dirty Socialists in 3rd. Your Heart, 1000 Miles would probably have won on any other day, being the most talented, but there you have it, BTV1 viewers don't lie in choosing who they wanted. We'll be back with the WorldVision finals in just a few days now, the date and time of the broadcast should be on screen now in both Bostopia East and Bostopia West timezones.
Rejistania

The rejistanis looked once again forward to the national competition which, for the first time ever took not place in Na~ovi kali but in Hetkali. The moderator was a local celebrity called Ishi Tara, known from a number of B- and C-movies.
The qualification for the first time was based on 6 districts, every one consisting of half a nanti.
The first district, was the western nanti kansu. The group from there is a Tris band with a song which relies heavily on percussion with rather simple text acompanying it: "Sijon, Sijah, Sijehi" performed "Simu tani" (mana of the land)
After that, western nanti likhat had its chance with a rather western-oriented, song called: "On a way". It is performed by a group, which just calls themselves "Etemil'ny" because they are all of the family Etemil. singer is the 9-year old Eali Etemil.
Northern nanti simu was the next district. Kurudi ri do not really come from there, but were elected to participate for this district. Their newest song is about politicians, who lost grasp on reality and its voters. Kurudi ri are known for their libertarian ideas, so "Jea'iln!" is not surprising.
KaMaRi kali is its own district even though the name cleverly disguises it as southern nanti simu. Manijak is a group of 3 men and 3 women all in their late twenties or early thirties. "Ami'il, ami'il!" Does not really impress with its music but the acrobatic dance helps a lot to cover that up.
Eastern nanti likhat was represented by N.Ixi Ni and the song "xe'ki'visko'ta tesha" (I will never say) about being forced to hide a secret from the loved one in order not to betray a friend. The song is a slow ballad.
Eastern nani kansu was represented by a a seleken boygroup with the name "Ra!" (here!), the grooy song is (of course) about speaking to a girl and how shy they are in reality. "'Ina miti my" (getting her friendly interest/attention) is the name of that song.
OOC: winners will be posted when I have had some sleeeeeep.

Skgorria
07-03-2007, 01:13
OOC: Apologies for the delays, RL being its usual "fun" self.
IC:
The Skgorrian entrant will be "Broken On The Grand Line" performed by Totalslava, the honourary divisional band of the 5th SS Panzer Division "Zionbane"
Wentland
07-03-2007, 11:03
Ooc: pooter is bost so this is from a pda ergo short
The public vote was being announced and as expected Juliet Lowes' ballad "I Need You" had pretty much dominated. It was a hundred thousand votes clear of the next competitor and only the last song to be announced.
Then host Winthrop Tuesday visibly paled. "For The Oblivion..."
He paused.
"Seven...
"HUNDRED..."
There were gasps and some boos from the audience with a couple of isolated cheers. Punk band The Oblivion had only entered as a joke...but their caustic song "Wentland Is S***" had evidently touched a nerve...and was going to Swilatia.

Okay, now we just need UIE, and we can start this.

I'm giving UIE 2 more days to post a song, or declare that he/she is not participating. Otherwise, we start the contest without UIE.
