...and I want to see who’d be interested before I actually did it.
Amy Keane, daughter of former Supreme General Yunger Keane and Consul of Klonor, is the woman who'd be the bride when we do this. I was planning on having her be involved in a long-term relationship with the Grand Duke Solomon Klonor (My main character and leader of Klonor) but events (Namely the Duke getting a new girlfriend who kinda mentally raped Amy by accident) have pretty much ruled out that plot.
She's smart, attractive, twenty-seven (Well, technically she's 139, but in an average lifespan of 400+ years it amounts to the same thing), in a position of great power in Klonor (She’s the elected co-Head of State) and of good social standing (Her dad is a national icon and historical figure). However, she has been severely mentally scarred and will likely be dealing with some severe issues in the near future.
This is actually an RP that I had before (twice), but the first time the suitors stopped posting one-by-one, or officially dropped out, and it ended without anything happening, and the second time we didn’t even get to the second page when my computer died and I had to drop out. So, I'm starting it all over again, and hopefully we’ll actually finish it this time. What would you think of getting involved in this RP and sending a suitor?
This is going to be a day-on-the-street type RP, meaning Amy and your character just sorta bump into one another one day, it's not an officially arranged courtship between government dignitaries. I expect that it'll take at least several weeks, possibly months, since we're going to go through the entire range of the relationship, from first meeting to the honeymoon, and Amy might not even end up with anyone if none of the relationships work out (Though I don't particularly expect that outcome).
For the suitors:
Pansexuality is the norm in Klonor, so gender and, to a limited degree, physical beauty are quite unimportant. Female and alien suitors are more than welcome, as long as they’re not too far outside the human norm (I don’t care how open-minded you are, a Hutt is simply unattractive). It's fine to be a member of your own nation, but I doubt it will 'fit' to have your suitor be a person of power in whatever nation is RP'ing them; the character would need to be a person who could just happen to be in a restaurant/movie/on the street in Klonor, and how often does Tony Blair go clubbing in Germany? Of course, if you can find some way to have your Vice-President be in a Klonor bar then I'm not going to stop you.
Any nations (or races) that have telepathy are automatically out, there's no way it would work between the two of them. Hell, there's no way Amy’d even let them off the planet alive. In Klonor, telepathy is the Big Bad Wolf that makes the children cry and the police twitch their fingers (The short version: Telepathy was the bullet that brought down the Klonor government, opened up the borders to alien annexation, and kinda set off a wee bit of genocide in Epsilon Pegasi). If the suitor can keep it quiet then okay, but just know that this means they’ll have to keep it quiet permanently.
Other than that, the only requirements for a suitor is just a little common sense, put some thought into it and you'll do fine.

She grew up in Deneb, the cultural center and former capital of the Association, and entered the People's Assembly after achieving her Masters degree in History. She's currently the Co-Consul along with Mary Salm, and holds the record for longest serving Consul, having been elected a total of seventeen times on a platform of interior development (There were some aging, but still sore, racial and religious divisions within Klonor that she worked to smooth away).
It was during her sixteenth term that the Duke, who had been in a prolonged state of suspended animation for the past century, emerged from his stasis and re-entered the society and government. The Duke is something of a minor deity within Klonor, though he himself attempts to disuage this view whenever possible, and is near-worshiped due to his status as Klonor's oldest citizen, sole immortal, and first telekinetic. As such, Amy, along with pretty much everybody else within Klonor, had a minor infatuation with him while growing up, and the fact that her father was the closest thing the Duke had to a brother meant that she was constantly getting "this one time, after he'd been drinking, old Sol went and got himself into trouble" stories, so she had a more personal connection than the other scores of young Klonori. Unfortunately, soon after his re-emergence, Ravelyn Shentavo showed up and tried to make contact and, since he was indisposed at the time, was given a meeting with Amy instead. Long story short, Ravelyn initiated a mental connection (Purely innocent, she didn't know about the Klonor taboo), and pretty much instantly made herself Klonor's #1 most wanted. Unfortunately, instead of having her brutally killed, or at the least having her expelled from the nation (Being a foreign dignitary really did preclude any form of lethal retaliation), she and the Duke run off together and have a wild fling like long-lost lovers (Which they actually were). Amy, already quite traumatised by what was essentially her being brutally raped, was further disturbed when the Duke, the legendary figure she'd grown up fantasizing about, told the nation "just forget the whole thing" and her dad and everybody else shrugged and said okay. So, she had something akin to a complete mental breakdown.
She went away for a while, recovered, and dealt with some real self-worth issues that she'd had for a while (For a long time she considered her position quite purposeless, since the Consuls had really just existed to take up space until the Duke came back). Now she's on her way back to Deneb to resume her duties, and that's where this RP will take off.
Amy is of average height (5'9''), has red/gold waist length hair (Standard length for Klonor), and has a body that, to avoid making making this description an article in Playboy, I'll simply say is worthy of notice (Not, however, stop-in-your-tracks-and-drop-your-jaw, since she's a government official and not a supermodel). She enjoys the classical literature of Old Earth (In reality the current literature of our own world) and other such historical hobbies (hence her degree in history) because, in her own words, "looking at where we're from tells us where we're going." She appreciates a good joke, but is absolutely horrid at telling them (Her retelling of the overly cliche "Jimathon Jones" routine usually comes out offensive and rude). Fortunately, anecdotes from her own past usually suffice to raise a smile, so she manages to get by in a conversation.
I think that covers the basics of what people will need to know about Amy, since this isn't an official courtship type RP the suitors aren't going to be entering the relationship with knowledge of her and her past, and anything that they'll eventually find out should come out in the RP.
