“Minister!” Yelled out a rather old man with salt and pepper hair his body shimmering gently in the bright white utilitarian light of the clamoring crowded hall, his voice was rather clam but loud enough for the minster on the podium to hear.
The young minister looked down at the man, his black gelled hair slightly gleaming in the light, his black suit hanging slightly loose off of his built yet skinny body. The minister smiled his lips curling up to show off perfectly cleaned and white teeth. He replied in a clam professional voic.
“Ahh consular hepburn, I take it your satisfied with the results of this meeting?”
The old man chuckled he put out a hand , it was wrinkled and toned yet some what soft the minister shook it his own smooth yet toned hands grasping the consulars, the older man responded.
“Well I suppose every thing went as good as it could have, but I wished for more provision enlightening local asteroid sectors control and expansions of territory, but i suppose thats what the senates for no?” the minister laughed a bit diplomatically replying “well of course, I mean as minister of new vesta, I have to over see some claims of this sector no?” he smiled again looking around at the massive chamber, lights and spot lights poured white on to the marble metallic like floor of the chamber, the podium as several meters high looking over the large senate hall. The two men walked out, talking as they walked in to the grand hall painted with portraits of all the senate members, classical yet futuristic chandeliers dotted the roof of the grand hall. Outside was well light with sun light, new vesta was a large asteroid hardly considered one, a little larger than pluto it orbited around in the belt bi centennially. The planetoid did have water, and life, thanks to a force field holding air pumped in to the atmosphere inside, and warmth from the sun that was so distant and seemingly cold on the body. The massive city of new vesta rose above the hilly copings and mountainous terrain that was dotted with many trees and wind swept hilly prairies, massive gleaming white and chrome glassy structures and complexes crowded the down town areas of the city, high ways and air ways filled with vehicles could be seen from the buildings, in the midst of this prosperous crowding of buildings and structures sat a podium on top of a walk way in the center of the massive city, flashing holographic billboards and pictures dotted the area around it, buildings rose to unimaginably heights around it. The young minister stepped up his body shimmering gently in the bright sun light gleaming off the glassy structures. He smiled waving at the crowd of people and reporters in front of him. The scene was being broadcasted all over sol particularly around the asteroid belt and outer regions.
The minister smiled his hands resting on the post, he started to speak his voice echoing throughout the area, his confidant and diplomatic tone calming and reassuring.
“Greetings my people, today I am coming to you not as the president of united new vesta , but the chief executive of an entirely new organization to befall us ,it is with grate pleasure that I inform you and others around this solar system, that we and multiple asteroid states dotting the belt have came together for an eight day meeting, in this meet we have laid down what is to be the new unified
government of the asteroid belt, we are now citizens of the United Asteroid Federation! And my first act as President of the UAF is to declare this a day of celebration and a national holiday, I will also decree that with ten months we shall call a general election to elect a new set of senators and a new president. Thank you, and I Thank the state leaders from the other asteroid colonies for coming together to form this new found state, I would also like to inform other parties and states viewing this speech that the UAF is ready for the inter solar community, and we would like to start establishing ties as soon as possible.” the man bowed gently as crowds clapped insanely around him, millions clapped as they viewed the tall statured man walk off stage. He looked back as he got in to a black limo like object, he smiled grinning slightly.
To all solar nations from the United asteroid federation state department: let it be known that the organization formed has no malice towards you or ill will towards any nation that might wish to talk to it we look forward to talking with your representatives and leaders. The president had many things to do, first was to organize funding, the military would get priority, pirates and other organizations may have ill intent towards the new UAF, so it needed a strong ground force and star navy. Others where funding for education law.. government and health. The message sent by the state department was expected to get at least one or two replies.
