These are some assorted maps I have made of my nation, this thread will be used mostly as a reference tool should I ever be attacked in the future it may be nice for my opponent(s) to know where my cities are located if he should want to RP an attack or somethign along those lines.
First up we have my nation's physical map (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/9769/nationmapblank8il.png). As you can see my nation has fully expanded to the ocean in the north, in the south is a vast mountain range which has in the past at least served as an excellent buffer from invasions by land. Two fertile valleys are the main source of my nation's yearly harvest, these two areas alone provide roughly 65-70% of the harvest every fall. North of this mountain range is the 1st Federal District, made up entirely of desert, it is an uninhabited area and the military uses it as their private training grounds. Because of the extreme conditisions the government decided 50 years ago to forcibly remove all 237,000 of the regions residents and discontinue all travel into that region. Prior to this decision over 1,000 travelers died every year in the harsh desert from exposure, since then the number of (civilian) deaths has dropped to an average of ten per years and in three seperate years there was not a single civilian death in that district. North of this district the region is largely flat plains, very good conditions for ranching. In the southwest the province of Iowa is almost entirely forested areas. The Great Western Forest as it is called used to stretch through western Nebraska and into Minnesota, however widespread deforestation caused the forests in these provinces to disappear almost entirely, Iowa was saved this fate thanks to their extensive environmental protection laws, which are funded by taxes received every year on hunting Iowa, which is the best (and only province in some cases) for hunting game to include moose, bear, turkey, deer and an assortment of other wildlife known to frequest heavily wooded areas. The four major rivers of the Dominion are the Columbia, Ohio, Missouri and Big Sioux. I used the spray paint tool in paint for this map simply because I like the textured look.
Here (http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/9449/nationmapwithborders6wz.png) is a physical map with national and provincial borders marked as well as the the capital.
This (http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/2900/politicalmapwithnamesco0el.png) map is a political map with provinces, provincial capitals and my national capital marked. National capital is in red, provincial capitals marked with a black sqaure and the name in regular, size 14 times new roman font, province names are maked in bold, size 24, times new roman font and the national capital is in red with a red circle markings it's location. As you can see I used states from the midwest as the basis for my region names and then some cities and towns from my home state (South Dakota) as the provincial capital names. And to answer your question, yes, I really am that lame.
More to come, including but not limited to a map showing military bases in my nation and perhaps pictures of women wearing very little clothing. Your input is welcome/encourages in this topic, if you see things that could be improved feel free to share.
Oh yeah, and because I am, for lack of a better word, dumb, I messed up on the title, it should say "West Pacific's Map Thread"
