Martin stared at the letter for sometime. It had a mysterious aura attached to it. He was nervous and a little anxious of the unknown and always had been, but his sense of curiousity won him over. That very night he boarded on Flight 563-G from Borough International Airport, headed towards Londim to rendez-vous with this "X" character.

University of Jonensberg, Kulikovia
It was another fall day on campus. Students rushed across the grounds going to their next class. The leaves were amber, red, and yellow as a gentle wind blew through and leaves began to dance in the wind. The buildings were old, but renevated and kept in good order. It was a prestigious institution where the smartest and most expressive of young adults go to further themselves in a number of fields. The History Department was one of the elite departments of campus. Dr. Johannes Krueger was a professor in Ancient Cultures and taught the subject for the better part of twenty years. Before that, he traveled the world, collecting antiques and dabbling in archaeology at ancient sites abroad and at home. Now, he was in his late fifties, hair nearly all gray and now used a cane to help him get around. The students loved him due to his unique and admirable teaching styles. His classroom discussions were hands on as he funded field trips across the country for his students. The faculty also respected him and admired his talent. Now, his days of traveling abroad in search of ancient treasures and scriptures were over, the effects of old age preventing him from carrying on.
Now, his son took up this charge. Wolfgang Krueger was in his early thirties and a dashing figure, almost identical to what his father once looked like. Wolfgang was athletic, having once been on the university swim team. He was tall, lean and some would say a rougish figure. Some people liked him, he was for the most part nice, a joker and charasimatic like his father, but others couldn't get past his protective outter layer of emotions which shielded him from most people, much has happened to him and he acts distant to others at times, work helps to take his mind off his demons. Though, his eyes were blue, like taht of his mothers'. He went to the same university his father teaches at, and even took some classes under his instruction. father and son would so together on some of the expeditions as Johannes tutored Wolfgang in everything he knew. Wolfgang had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and adventure. He was on the swim team and athletic. He owned his own antiques trading company. He would go around and find all sorts of items and sell them. Other people would give him certain items and sell them. Wolfgang had many connections in such a field. He even gave some items to his father to use in his teachings. One day, Wolfgang walked through the campus, having just delivered an ancient vase to his father, after they talked for a time he departed, he had alot of work to do and little time to do it. His cellphone rang out through his coat pocket.
"Hello?" he asked as he continued to walk down the walkways.
"Wolfgang...I need you to come back to my office. It's very important" his fathers familiar and aging voice replied.
"I'll be right there" and he snapped the phone shut, briskly walking back to his father's office. It was filled with bookcases, a chestnut desk and other items which gave it a victorian feel.
"What's the matter?" Wolfgang asked, concerned that something was wrong.
"I'm alright" he replied, reaching inside his drawer and pulling out a letter and setting it on the desk "I recieved a letter today, one which should interest you"
Wolfgang opened the letter and read it "But it's for you" he said as he set the letter down.
"Wolfgang, I'm too old to be galavanting across the world nowadays. I already sent an email back to this man. You'll be going in my place. Whatever artifact they want to be found. You can help find it" his father said as he sat back. The two of them continued to talk about the subject for a half hour. His father finally convinced him to go in his stead. Wolfgang walked out of the office not knowing what he was going to get himself into.

Jonensberg International Airport
Krueger paced through the airport, fighting past the throngs of travelers. It was another busy day at the largest airport in Kulikovia. People from all over congregate through that airport. It was a large one, and quite modern, though that didn't mean that it was easy navigating through it. I can find lost artifacts from looking at a 2,000 year old map but can't find the damn gate I need at the airport! He already dropped off his luggage and carried a bag which held a laptop. Finally, after exhausting his mental strength, he reached the gate. The plane waited at the gate as passengers waited to board. He broke out a novel from his bag and opened up to the page he last left off on. His eyes scanned across the pages, lapping up every word of it. He was still reading The DaVinci Code. The topic was quite the catcher for him. As he stood there they called his row. The book snapped shut as he headed towards the gate, giving the woman his ticket. He took a seat by the window and waited for the plane to taxi. A million questions raked through his mind. There weren't many details avaliable and the man whom he was to meet was nothing more than a phantom.

After a long flight and a light hearted conversation with the attractive woman next to him, the plane finally touched down in Londim. He walked off the plane and waved good bye to the woman, her name was Bianca. Her slim figure walked away from him, her blonde hair going half way down her back. Her perfume still lingered in his nostrils, he found himself lost in it. They chatted on the plane about what they did, what they like, and so on. She was quite interesting and kind. It was a shame that they must part ways.
"It was nice talking" he called out as she walked off.
"I enjoyed it as well" she replied with a smile and kept walking. Krueger hadn't had much success with love. Though he had his fair shares of one night stands, he didn't have many long lasting relationships. He was charming enough, but love dealt him the rotten card many times. His last love interest left him after a year and a half. Distraught, he decided to dedicate himself to his work. Now, he was almost almost thirty two and still alone. After he wallowed in self-pity for a few minutes he hailed a cab which took him to a hotel. From there, he left his things and caught another cab to the address which was on the letter. He walked out of the cab, paid, and the cab sped off. The house seemed quite nice, though uncertainty filled his heart as he got a ''gut feeling''. He dismissed the thought and approached the door, rapping his fist off of it and waiting for someone to open it.
South Deserts, Kanami
A young woman in her mid-20's climbed the steep red rock of the south west. She made it to the top detatched her chains and sat down on the red rock "Indian-Style." She looked out to the horizon where dark storm clouds were gathering. She let the cool breez blow against her tan skin and her brown hair. A helicopter destrubed the tranquil silence and rose up. A rope latter decended and a man came out. "Danna Severyan?"
"It's Severyn."
"Whatever, I have a message for you."
She took the message.
"Oh no, I've seen the movie, I've seen The Hunted I never accept a strange offer from some strange man I've never ever herd of especially to take me someplace away from home, where I suddenly become apart of a horror story."
"Relax, I can assure this is perfectly legit. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine."

"Enjoy your trip Ms. Severyn."
"I hope so."

The door opened automatically and a voice spoke from a hidden speaker.
"Hello there Mr Krueger. I am glad to see you have accepted my invitation. Please enter the door to your left and take a seat at the dining table. The others shall arrive shortly."

The intercom suprised him. After the message ended he looked over at the door. It's Krueger, not Grueger His hand grasped the door nob, he hesitated, wondering what would happen. So, he turned the knob and walked in through the corridor and into the elaborate dining room. He relaxed his brushed twill pinstripe blazer and took a seat, gazing around the room waiting for the other ''guests'' and for whoever orchestarted this whole deal.
After the plane landed she caught a cab to get where she needed. "Here you are miss."
"Thanks. How much do I owe you?"
She payed the man and got out of the cab

Krueger slid back his sleeve to reveal a watch. Time was going slowly it seemed as he waited...for answers as to why he was there. His father took the liberty of already telling this man that he would be there before he even had a say in it. The whole thing seemed dare he say...adventurous? The thought made it worth this whole ordeal. This was the kind of thing you see in movies or read in novels. So, he just sat back, smirked and waited.
The door opened as the cab sped away/
" Ahh Miss Severyan. I'm glad you accepted my offer. Please enter the first door to your left and take a seat at the table.", said the voice from the intercom.

The only audible sound was that of his own watch. It icked and ticked and ticked, almost mezmerizing him. After a few minutes he felt like looking at his watch again. This time he rolled his sleeve up a bit more, revealing a scar that went up part of his arm. It was a scar that reminded him everyday about some of the risks he takes in his line of work. It seemed like only yesterday but in fact a year ago he was in the Amazon River Basin where he headed an expedition to find a lost Incan City. There was a theory and a tattered Spanish map that led him to believe that the Incas at one point moved off the mountain regions and tried to settle in the river basin. It was believed that they founded one great city, deep within the basin but it was abandoned several decades later.
Krueger and a party of researchers and other personnel traveled through the rivers and tributaries via canoe, with the assistance of local guides. Sadly, at one point they were betrayed and left for dead in one of the most inhospitable places in the world. Someone didn't want them to find this place. As they struggled to make it through the rain forest they were attacked by local people who seemed to be just criminals. Two members of his party were murdered and the rest captured. Krueger was tied to a chair where they demanded to know where he had the map. Their leader took out his machete and drew the blade across his arm, digging the blade deep into the flesh. They tortured him, demanding the map. He fooled them into believing that he knew where the city was and would take them there. After lying and putting on a good show they released him and forced him to guide them to it. But, at one point he escaped with the only other member of his party. The two of them were chased through the forest. At one point, Krueger had to leap into the rain swollen river to escape, the current nearly pulling him under. But being an expert swimmer paid off and he made it out alive. Sadly, his partner didn't survive. He wandered through the rain forest for a week before he came upon a village. And the rest was history. Krueger still carried the physical and mental scars of that horrific ordeals. Finally, he snapped back to reality, breathing a bit heavily. It was a shame, he never found the city which was lengend to contain great riches. He sighed and rapped his fingers off the table.

The cell phone rang in Krueger's blazer pocket, so he fumbled around for it and liberated the phone from his pocket, flipping it open.
"Hello?" he asked into the phone.
"Wolfgang...did you make it to the address?" Johannes asked as he sat in his office, mulling over a stack of reports.
"Yes I did" he replied with a sigh "so far this X character hasn't been a good host. I'm waiting while other guests arrive before this X finally reveals himself and tells us what the hell's going on. Frankly, I think it's just a ploy to kill us all. This may be the last time you ever hear from me"
"Very funny" Johannes replied, snickering lightly then coughing. "Just wanted to make sure you were still alive"
"Thanks for the concern. Was there anything else to the letter? Have you ever heard of this guy before?" Krueger asked.
"Hmm...no, not a thing comes to mind, sorry Wolfgang" Johannes replied, trying to recolect anything that could be of use. "Well, I gotta go. Lots of work to do"
"Alright, bye" Krueger snapped his cell phone shut and shoved it back into his pocket.

X watched the screen as another car pulled up outside. A rather attractive woman had got out but her looks held secrets and knowledge that very few people knew. X spoke through the intercom:
"Hello Ms Bianca. Please enter the door to your left."
Bianca looked to for the source of the voice but could find none. This whole thing seemed strange to her and yet she was compelled by it. She entered the door and saw a familiar face.......

The door slid open and a graceful and familiar figure stepped in. It was Bianca! Krueger's eyes bursted wide open as his cheeks flushed a tad. What were the chances? It seemed quite strange. They had similar tastes but he had no idea she was invited along for this meeting. She was equally suprised by seeing Krueger sitting there.
"Bianca? So you got the letter too?" he finally asked after they stood there in silence, his words breaking that silence.
