Sacra Corona Unita & the Rosa: Open RP [OOC info]
Premise
A little while back I made a rather weak attempt to make a resurgence in the Largentian Organized Crime (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=447684). But, now finally, I'm going to do something with it. As Largent has finished its internal reformations its time to erradicate the remnants of our organized crime before it gets too much of a foothold and becomes even more of a problem.
The "Sacra Corona" has no relevance to the OOC organization. It is intended to be an international organization that has dealings in countless illeagle activities:
*Opium Dealing/Smuggling
*Human Trafficking
*Grand Theft
*Fraud
*Contract Killing
*Money Laundering
*Arms Dealing
*Insider Trading
*Extortion
*Piracy
Involvement
Essentially there are an infinite number of possibilities for your involvement. It all depends on what sort of RP you want this to be. I'm okay with quite literally everything. If your short on ideas take a look at the list I've written up:
*Member of the "Sacra Corona" (however, the boss' character is taken by me)
*Your nation has problems with the organization and are working with Largentian authorities to erradicate them
*Member of a rival organization
*A person trafficked by the organization
*A person affected by any of the above illeagle activities
*Your ships have been pirated by the organization
*Double agent within the organization
Please DO NOT
*RP having highly valuable information and then selling out the crime bosses
*Employ countermeasures against the organization that would be 'too successful', this is supposed to be a reasonable long and enjoyable RP.
*Create a rival gang which holds too much power unless it is in your own country
*Engage in mass exterminations of gang members unless it is cleared with me
*Assasinate important characters unless it has been cleared by both parties
Ignores
If you have chosen to ignore a fellow RPer, please just take no notice of their character. Do not make comments that are meant to be antagonistic and make no OOC comments whatsoever unless it is on the OOC thread and is helpful in some way.
What is the Plot?
The driving force behind this whole RP will be various police efforts to put a stop to the "Sacra Corona". I highly recommend that following my first introductory post that you begin by rp some sort of crime so that you either may be able to begin investigating the crime or become investigated by the authorities (this all depends on how you want to be involved).
As other things come up Ill post them here. If there are any questions feel free to ask. Also, this is not an RP you must sign up for, this is just ooc info while I get my first post ready.
Regarding the characters, what are the limitations of their specialites. Would you prefer that law related characters be specificially police officers, or would military personnel (single operator, not a full team) working with your nations law enforcement be acceptable?
I'm quite literally open to anything regarding characters. Anythings from police to military is absolutely fine. Also, if you wished to rp with an entire team I wouldn't object.
Excellent. I'll be working on a character here shortly, see what I can get going. I would go with a full team, but I start to get lost when trying to RP four or five different personnel.
I can play a person who is being traffickied
Some Nice Information of Sacra Corona Traditions and Structure
Capo Di Tutti Capi
These are two men within the story. The literal translation is "boss of all bosses." These are the men who run the organization. They run lives that most people only believe exist in the movies and they are more descreit than your average crime boss. Only a select few know anything about them and if your lower on the hierarchy you've probably never even heard their names.
Tracking a building a case against these men will be a massive undertaking. First you would even have to find out they exist. They have created thousands of rumors as to who the real bosses are and once one of their decoys has been arrested they will know they have been sold out and there will be consiquences for both the snitch and the officers involved in the investigation.
The two mens names are strictly ooc knowledge at this time unless you have a character I have cleared to have this knowledge. Their names are Ernesto Amontillado and Renato Gagliano. Renato did not appear in the link I proveded up above and will be introduced in my first post.
Structure
From top to bottom:
Capo Di Tutti Capi - Amontillado and Gagliano
Capo Di Capi Re - Retired bosses, treated with honor. Example Guiseppe Rogoli (still to be introduced)
Capo Crimine - crime bosses, head of criminal families. The head of the family, usually reigning as a dictator, sometimes called the "don", or "godfather". The Boss receives a cut of every operation taken on by every member of his family. Depending on the Family, the Boss may be chosen by a vote from the Caporegimes of the family. In the event of a tie, the Underboss must vote Example: Lawrence Aurelius, Luchresi
Capo Bastone - "Beat Head", known as the "Underboss" is second in command to the Capo Crimini. The Underboss, usually appointed by the Boss, is the second in command of the family. The Underboss is considered the Boss that is in charge of all of the other Capos, who is controlled by the Boss. The Underboss is usually first in line to become Acting Boss if the Boss is imprisoned or dies.
Consigliere - an advisor. Consigliere is an advisor to the family. They are often low profile gangsters that can be trusted. They are used as a mediator of disputes or representatives or aids in meetings with other Families. They often keep the Family looking as legitimate as possible, and are, themselves, legitimate apart from some minor gambling or loan sharking. Often Consiglieres are lawyers or stock brokers, are trusted and have a close friendship or relationship with the Don. They usually do not have crew of their own, but still wield great power in the Family. They are also often the liaison between the Don and important 'bought' figures, such as politicians or Judges.
Caporegime - "Regime head", a captain who commands a "crew" of around ten Sgarriste or "soldiers". A Capo (sometimes called a Captain) is in charge of a crew. There are usually four to six crews in each family, possibly even seven to nine crews, each one consisting of up to ten Soldiers. Capos run their own small family, but must follow the limitations and guidelines created by the Boss, as well as pay him his cut of their profits. Capos are nominated by the Underboss, but typically chosen by the Boss himself.
Sgarrista or Soldati - "Soldier" or "enforcer", made members of the Mafia who serve primarily as foot soldiers. Soldiers start as Associates that have proven themselves. When the books are open, meaning that there is an open spot in the family, a Capo (or several Capos) may recommend an up-and-coming Associate to be a new member. In the case that there is only one slot and multiple recommendations, the Boss will decide. The new member usually becomes part of the Capo's crew that recommended him.
Picciotto - "Little man", a low ranking member who serves as an "enforcer"
Giovane D'Onore - an associate member, usually someone not of Italian ancestryAn Associate is not a member of the mob, but more of an errand boy. They're usually a go-between or sometimes deal in drugs to keep the heat off the actual members. In other cases, an associate might be a corrupt labor union delegate or businessman.
Religion
The Sacra Corona has very religious roots. It used the Crown (Corona) because it resembles a crown, meaning the rosary typically used in Church in order to carry out the functions of Jesus Christ and the cross... United (Unita) because it was necessary to be connected to one another, similar to the rings of a chain. Every member is extremely religious, especially at the top of the organization. This can be called both a strength and a weakness as it leaves them easily manipulated.
Internal Division
Sadly, the Corona became internally divided shortly after its resurgence of power. Lecce Di Tommasi created the Rosa dei Venti while in prison after he was sold out by a Corona informant. Fearing a greater release of precious information, a contract was put out on him for one million dollars. Unfortuantely it failed leading to the split and the formation of the only native-Largentian rival to the Sacra Corona Unita.
Gang wars are common although the public knows nothing of them. The two organizations are powerful enough to purchase scores of mercanaries to keep the fighting professional and quiet. The number of gang related deaths per month is well into the hundreds. No exact numbers are available.
Rosa leadership is much more public knowledge than its counterpart in the Sacra leading police investigations to often head in that direction, unable to make the distinction between the two organizations. Gang tatoos are forbidden so that this inablity to make a distinction is permanant.
Austar Union
14-01-2007, 23:19
Organized Crime in the Austar Union is still quite prevailant, although not as publicly active as it might be in their Largent counterparts. Generally speaking, so long as Gangsters don't cause problems for the government, the government won't cause problems for Gangsters. Furthermore, there is an underlying cooperation between the government and criminal underworld where both sides see it beneficial, although this is hardly something spoken of, if even suspected. Carmine Goodchild and his staff are very careful to protect their integrity, and especially like to present themselves as 'above' these things, including the Austarian Mafia.
Going by the name of Magliozzi Waste Management Co., the organization had originated when the five bosses out of four states decided to cooperate for the purposes of mutual 'business' and to protect the integrity of the Austar Union when it was originally formed. As a result, the leadership structure of Magliozzi Waste is quite extensive, there are five sub-families being run and unified by a line of blood-related individuals, all by the surname of Magliozzi. Hector Magliozzi currently reigns as the longest standing Capo Di Tutti Capi, and has successfully negotiated a quiet truce between the Government and Gang Members alike. Naturally, some arrests have to be made, but all for public image et cetera.
The structure of Magliozzi Waste Management Co. is as follows.
Capo Di Tutti Capi - Hector Magliozzi
Capo Crimine - Joey Peeps, Sonny Black, John Bland, Richard Arkadelphia, and Donald Tillio.
The organization strictly accepts only males of 50% or more Italian ethnicity. This includes immigrants from Italy itself, the Dominion, anywhere. They are also very violent, representing influences from Vori V Zakone where they don't just kill the members of an 'evil-doer’; they also kill his/her entire immediate family. Religiously, Mafioso in the Austar Union tend to be Catholic, although not as active in practicing their beliefs.
If you're interested Largent, I wouldn't entirely be opposed to something where Sacra Corona Unita and/or the Rosa attempt to gain interests on Magliozzi turf, or the other way around.
Let me know.

The idea is to keep the trainees from knowing it is an exercise. After fifth week, escape is possible; however, interrogation steps up in extremity. After escape, trainees must make their way to a pick up point on the beach, where the operators and operatives congratulate them on their escape, and award them an official notice of completion of the Imitoran Special Warfare and Tactics School, and the Imitoran Special Warfare Device. Personality: John is a harsh individual with a cynical and sometimes stinging wit and sense of humor borne from his combat experience. He is known to be a harsh and demanding leader, but is also well respected by those under his command for his outspokenness in their favor and dedication to his work. Medical records show a fairly clean bill of health, the Blue Crescent having been awarded for a leg injury from a fast rope accident during the Markov War. There is no recorded regarding his forearm wounds, but he has been passed by numerous military psychologists, and it is an unconfirmed rumor that they are self inflicted.
CLASSIFIED: He has seen combat in every major Imitoran war, and was rumored to be involved in the joint 1st SOG/Force Recon TRACT operation that has yet to be confirmed in Tanaara during the coup. He holds the 1st SOG’s unofficial record of most operations, having an unconfirmed operation record of 175 operations ranging from hostage rescue, counter terror, snatch and grabs, principle protection, and assassinations.
Bio: John comes from a rather unassuming background, stable family life, oldest of three, two sisters. Older sister is a Second Speaker in the Imitoran Congress; younger sister is resident at Northampton General Emergency. Left college after third year because he was bored, felt like he needed to do more for his country (pre Mandatory Service Act), enlisted in RIA. Served with distinction for ten years till military record sealed. After the 1996 Truth in Military Spending Bill passed on First Speaker John Oliver, the existence of the 1st, 5th, 7th, and 19th Special Operations Group was made public knowledge, his record shows presence as a clerk in 1st SOG Logistical Operations. As he is nearing his required operation retirement age, he is pushing himself harder in operations and training, trying to prove that age means nothing in this realm.

Hope its acceptable. I'll handle the reason why hes comming, the connection to Imitora, etc., in the first post of the IC RP, assuming its ok to say that one of the crime groups is operating out of Imitora. A small cell, but a cell none the less.
AU: I'm definately interested. However, we may want to work out a few things oocly, as in how/why the SCU would do that.
Imitora: looks great.
As for a basic timeline for when we can kick this off: I hope to have something up by friday morning, midterms and everything make tuesday-thrusday a little crazy.

OOC: I'd jump in, but I know I can't continue the thing after the 24th. I'll be shipping off for a nine-month training deployment.
Best of luck, though.

I don't know if this would be of interest to anyone playing Sacra Corona members but Kesshite currently has no law that bans the growing of any substance. Meaning, marijuana, opium, and cocaine fields would be allowed. Likewise, port authorities keep poor records and rarely search ships

It would certainly be of interest if we had any buyers that would provide a nice income.
Concerning Maps
Malaqah (http://www.altur.com/img/mapas/c_malaga.jpg)
The strong hold of all SCU activities. Was chosen for its strong history of religion. Under Emperor Johnston, husband of the current empress, the city was declared an episcopal see. The earliest known bishop was Father Sforza. Following the reign of the Empress, who openly conforms to Islam, the city was temporarily converted to an Islamic center of religious activity. Hundreds of mosques sprang up, but eventually the Empress' religion acheived wide enough acceptance, the Largentian capital became the Islamic center the Empress wished it to be.
This makes Malaqah an interesting cross roads of religion. Unfortunately severe hostilities exhist, and the SCU is largely at fault. The episcopal see has been recently restored however, leading many to believe that Islam will slowly fade into the background.

Lichencrest Industries
20-01-2007, 16:11
In Rastoria, The massive corporate conglomerate Lichencrest Industries has successfully taken control of the chaotic country in a massive corporate takeover. This takeover involved severe fighting between many opposing forces from the Union of Socialist Workers and the Rastorian Mafia. The Rastorian Mafia was nearly wiped out thanks to the efforts of the Lichencrest’s own corporate mob outfit known as the Guild. The Guild was originally formed by several German and Irish street gangs that banded together to battle their Italian rivals during the early 1920’s.
The Guild was never able to compete with the highly organized and closed mouthed Italian gangsters. The Irish and German gangsters lost territory and were pushed to near obscurity. This downward spiral would have led to the Guild’s destruction if it had not been for future CEO Matthias Lichencrest. This highly rich and powerful business man started out as a rich reckless youth that made “friends” with some shadowy people in his home in the Neo German Bronx district of New Rastoria. It was rumored that Matthias Lichencrest had been incorporated into one of the German Street Gangs and had been involved in a gang shootout that resulted in the death of a rival gang member. The rich kid would have been arrested and sent up state for life it had not been for Matthias’s wealthy father whom managed to get his boy released from prison using his connections with the local officials. This lesson in political connections and the ability to bribe people was something that Matthias learned while watching his father run their business..
Matthias went to a private university but still hanged with his boys down in the German Bronx district. Matthias managed to take control of the gang with the help of his friends and successfully bought the loyalty of the other street gangs from both Neo German Bronx and New Ireland districts. Matthias eventually graduated from the university and started to use his father’s generous allowance money to start up a minor enterprise in buying out real estate and renting them out to local German and Irish immigrants. The gangs under Matthias’s control would help him pressure or muscle out people that refused to sell their property. Matthias’s first enterprises without his father’s company were effective and profitable with his extensive use of money and mob muscle. He even managed to keep the Rastorian mafia from muscling him out his two districts.
Matthias eventually took control of Lichencrest Industries after his father mysteriously disappeared from the public lime light. This was the birth of his unofficial underworld title as the Kingpin of Rastoria. The Guild was considered to be a power again as it began to wage a war against the Sicilian run Rastorian Mafia. The Confederation of Rastoria was unable to stop the warring crime organizations and watched helplessly as bodies filled the sewers and were left corpses filled with bullet holes in the streets. This was around the same time when the country broke up into anarchy and the government collapsed.
Matthias Lichencrest used the situation to expand his business both legal and illegal. He ran up protection rackets and illegal drug trafficking, and sleazy brothels across the country. His fortunes continued to grow but his underworld war and his extensive military spending was costing him a large profit and Matthias decided to create a new order for his nation.
He launched a nation wide corporate takeover using his Corporate Security Division and his criminal muscle. This led to a week of violent fighting and blood in the streets. Lichencrest Industries managed to take control and they now control the country both legally and illegally.
The Guild currently acts like a state run mafia. It protects Lichencrest assets and keeps out rival organizations that might try to enter their markets. The members of the Gangs all owe allegiance to the Kingpin. He gives them legal jobs within Lichencrest Industries and provides the legal protection. He also arms them with Lichencrest designed weaponry to fight of rival gangsters. It is rumored that Lichencrest Industries refuses to pay protection to any rival organized crime outfit. Lichencrest Industries have been starting to expand their businesses to overseas markets. They also have been rumored to send over a few of their boys to protect their warehouses and oversea assets. This means the Guild is starting to muscle outside of their country causing bad blood with several crime organizations outside of Rastoria.
Basic overview: The Guild has come a long way from a group of riffraff gangsters into a corporate crime syndicate. They have a lot of clout inside of Rastoria thanks to their connection to Lichencrest Industries. They however lack the same protection in countries outside of Lichencrest control. It is no secret that Matthias Lichencrest is the Kingpin but his power comes from his money and the fact he can perform favors in exchange for loyalty of his underlings.
He has their basic respect but not the fear that most crime bosses usually possess. Matthias relies on his reputation as a friend of Virgil Sikes and Marv O’Brien to maintain fear within his minor associates. The Guild only employees people of German or Irish descent that have lived in Rastoria. They have a distrust of foreigners and try to keep everything within their neighborhoods.
The cornerstone of Guild society is the Code of Blood. This is their equivalent of Italian Omerta. The rule is simple, you talk about the organization to unapproved outsiders you die a painful death. The Guild members are mostly catholic but that does not count against you in the organization. The goal is money and making a profit…..
Structure:
Kingpin: Matthias Lichencrest: The defacto head of the crime Guild. The Kingpin’s name is never mentioned in public for fear of ruining his public image. The punishment for such an act can be rather lethal to speaker. The name of the current Kingpin is currently well known because of his celebrity status as the CEO of the ruling corporation of Rastoria.
Managers: Virgil Sikes, Marv O’Brien: These guys are the real godfathers of the organization. They answer to the Kingpin and pay him an annual tribute from their operations. They also receive orders from him and carry them out on the streets. They have several gangs under their control and they give the orders down to the supervisors or gang leaders. They in turn get a hefty percentage of the profit from
Supervisors: The gang bosses of the organization. They are in the streets with the boys keeping the peace within their neighborhoods and they receive a large percent of the take from their immediate operations. They give sizeable cut of their income up to Managers. These guys on occasion meet in large council like settings called board meetings. These meetings are to divide turf and keep peace within the gangs.
Tough Guys: These are the street soldiers or the equivalent of Mafia button men. They make up the body of the gangs that serve as the Guild’s street presence. They have access to Lichencrest weaponry and even have legal jobs within Lichencrest Industries. They usually end up working as Security personal and even as factory and warehouse workers.
Sweeper: An unofficial member that acts as an enforcer/low rank hit man for the Guild. They are usually considered expendable and have been known to be sacrificed in their hits to prevent them from talking. They sometimes can show promise and be bumped up in the organization with the approval of the higher ups..
Outsider: A person that is considered outside of the organization. They sometimes work as errand boys and go betweens for members in the organization. They usually are told nothing important or incriminating to prevent them from betraying their superiors. They can sometimes be referred to people on the payroll: Ex corrupt officials, labor leaders, etc.
List of known crimes:
Extortion
Prostitution
Illegal Gambling
Armed Robbery
Fraud
Contract Killing
Union Racketeering
Arms dealing
Bodyguarding
Drug Trafficking
Money laundering
Card Sharking
Is this organization acceptable? You could try to muscle in on the Guild’s turf or I could have the Guild try and expand into Sacra Corona’s turf. Lichencrest Industries would love to start up some businesses in your nation to make a profit. It would be interesting to see how Sacra Corona would feel about Irish German gangsters trying to keep them from starting up protection rackets on their Boss’s legitimate businesses.
No worries. Do you use IRC Largent? I'm found mostly in #nationstates.
Sadly, it seems that either IRC isn't compatible with a Mac or Im simply inept when it comes to computers. Either way, I haven't got it working yet, but I'll give it another try.
EDIT: Through some miracle its now working if we need to discuss anything on there.
Lichincrset Industries: It all looks great, to start any interorganizational business, just look at the first post I just put up in the IC thread. And I do agree it would be interesting to see how that plays out.

Just so you know, 'Uncle Divo' I suppose will be the first contact between Magliozzi Waste and Sacra Corona. Ludovico is basically just a dealer who has been taking product from Waste for some time, until just a week ago when he started looking 'elsewhere' for some of it on threats for his brother's life. Back at home, Ludovico's family are generally heavily involved in the Corona families, half of them on good terms half of them on bad terms. His Uncle Divo is a member who has ranked and proven himself quite loyal, a member who had been sent into Austar Union to establish more contacts, expand the field a bit.
Hope this is satisfactory.
AU: I gave Divo a bit of a specific role, hope you dont mind, it seemed reasonable enough.
Imitora: I want you to control the direction the police investigation goes. I think you would be far better at it than I. The way the plot concerning Dunbar and my character goes is entirely up to you. After sometime and considerable effort, I would like them to discover at least Ernesto's identity. Taking him out is an entirely different matter and is something we can plan via IRC/MSN/AIM when the plot gets to that point.
I want you to feel free to take any liberties you think would work well and if there is any question of what is reasonable just ask and Ill probably say yes, but you could always check if you like. My ideas were to take the cover their using to gradually obtain information from some character already introduced. As they transport goods to more important people, naturally they get more information and acess, but thats just me, you should feel free to take this any direction you want, this area of RP is not my forté, but my character will be there as I struggle along.
The only request I make is that information not come too easily, and besides that lets have some fun with it.

Will post shortishly. I haven't forgotten.
Hope its not too late to join in, this looks moderately entertaining and I'm hellaciously bored right now. So...make it interesting, eh?
I was thinking...like you mentioned in your intro RP, there are folk about who'd do anything for a quick buck -- kidnapping a foreigner, right?
You're FT, aren't you, Largent? I seem to recall you being so...which'd mean that I'd be able to use an actual Revenian instead of something else....
So, I was thinking, one of your lads has kidnapped my character's...sister...girlfriend...whatever, not for ransom but as a slave, servant, whatever. You get the idea. So that'd give my chap motivation to, ah, actually give a damn, right?
To save time, we could just assume that the actual kidnapping took place in backstory and my first post could be the arrival of my as-yet non-existant character to commence search for his significant other.
If you're game, then I'll get started on a quick character write-up and probably have something up within a day or two.

I have no qualms with it however, you must take into account that crime bosses don't just kidnap people and make them slaves. They take them and ship them to where ever they can get some money, so you may find RPing that rather tricky. However, if you feel up to it go right ahead.
Alrighty...character...character. This is mostly for reference.
Name: Athryn Kage
Species: Halfling Ascended
Age: Indeterminate.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 170 S.pounds
Eyes: Silver
Hair: Brown
Captain Athryn Kage commands the Revenian Special Strike Unit's 3Team. Prior to his appointment to command 3Team, he served as first-rifle on Captain-Commissioner Kaelandar Stark's own 5-man tac-team. Before his joining SSU, Kage was active within the Revenian Intelligence Directorate, though his exact position is highly classified. Prior to this, Kage commanded one of the Fleet Marines' Marauder/Recon teams.
He is unmarried at present, though in a long-term relationship with a Ms. Sarah Resner.
Some notes, then-- my chap isn't human, but he could easily be mistaken as one. The only big 'visual difference' between Halfling Ascended and the average earth-human is a tendency for silver in the hair and silver eyes. Despite this, he's stronger, 'faster,' and considerably heavier (denser) than a human of his size, weight, and level of fitness would be -- primarily because Revenians in general are adapted for heavy-gravity worlds.
Kage is comfortable enough on lower-gee worlds to not seem too out of place -- the Armed Forces of the Exalted Star Supremacy of Revenia (AFESSR) train for varied gravity situations in basic, regardless of branch, and low-gee training is quite common amongst civilians, as well.
Mar/Rec teams are designed for long duration ops in-field without re-supply. They're pretty hard-core and have a reputation for being utterly crazy. Perhaps this is why they have chainsaw bayonets...
Beyond his Fleet Marine training, Athryn Kage was one of the Directorate's RASP operators, highly trained infiltrators specializing in black operations and wetwork. It has been a while since he put that part of his life behind him, and is deeply troubled over his time with the Directorate, etc, etc.
However, with the kidnapping of his fiance, Sarah Resner, while she was on vacation...somewhere...Athryn has taken an extended leave from the SSU to attempt her rescue himself.
Athryn Kage wears a swordsworn pin on his lapel.
He's a bit...over-the-top, yeah, but he's also operating without support. Ideal situation is that he locates his chick while she's still in transit, busts her out, and vanishes into the night...but that isn't terribly likely, as there has probably been more than a bit of time elapsed since her kidnapping. That means that he's probably going to have to dirty his hands. Then again, he'd probably have done that anyways...in the interest of preventing a repeat incident, see?
Tech-wise, if I feel that Revenian tech would be too 'uber,' then I'll have him use other stuff. Both Mar/Rec and RASP train to use 'primitive' weapons for various reasons. Aaaanyways...mischief awaits.
AU, when you get the change just have soembody who would be able to arrange a sit down contact one of my characters.

Is it too late to join?
Mare Serenus
18-02-2007, 09:50
Name: Lars Holsen
Age: 28
Occupation: Pirate/Smuggler
Affiliation: The Atoll Pirates
Appearance: Lars is a native to Mare Serenus islands. He is deeply tanned and has shoulder-length black hair. His eyes are a bright blue, and when he is relaxing he is often found in a non-descript t-shirt and shorts. When he is at work he will most likely be in a wet suit.
History: Lars did not grow up wanting to be a pirate, in fact while he was growing up he wanted nothing more then to live a quiet life and surf his way to heaven. However, when Lars was 8 years old his family, his girlfriend, and a majority of his friends were killed. The reason why they were killed was that a Duchess of the old nobility had wanted to use Lars as a boy toy.
Lars agreed knowing that the people he knew where in danger. What nobody in the village knew was the the Duchess was a sadist. After torturing Lars physically she had the people Lars knew brought in and had them tortured and killed.
Eventually the Duchess grew tired of Lars's suffering and threw him into the ocean. The Duchess thought Lars was dead, that he was too weak to survive the sea.
At this point nobody but Lars knows what happens. Did he swim to shore? Did the ocean give him up to the shore? Did a pod of dolphins help him as they help wrecked sailors sometimes? What is known is that a year after Lars was thrown away he stole onto the Duchess's yacht and killed her. Ever since then he has been sailing the islands and the seas.
Is this alright?
P.S. What tech level is this?
Im trying to eliminate tech levels whatsoever to broaden the amount of people who can join, so anything is okay.
Also, I'm terribly busy this weekend and I've seen all the new posts and am working on responses. Apologies for the delay.
