Bazalonian Stadiums

Stadium 1*
TeleBaz Stadium, the nations largest and most spectactular piece of sporting archetecture in Fauxhan. A number of Bazalope Statues adorn the stadiums forecourts and facade. It seats an impressive 95 thousand persons and has great facilities for both the spectators as well as fully fitted changing rooms including closed circuit television showing the field and current TV broadcasts.

Stadium 2*
SeaBazalope Arena which is in the city of Cantinople boasts a total of 48,000 seats, and will be used for all group matches. Sitting in an ideal location, right in the centre of Cantinople and what seams only metres away from the cities famous beaches the SeaBazalope Arena is certainly a nice place to visit

Stadium 3*
Drago Soccer Field(DSF) situated in the city of Drago containing a total of 46,000 seats. The DSF is the only 'field' that is managed by the BFSA. Actually containing a fully equiped stadium around it the DSF has been a sporting institution in Bazalonia for as long as anyone can remember

Stadium 4*
Stadium Verona situatied in the idealic city of Hughestown which was founded on a plataeu near an ancient, now dead, Volcano - Mt Hughes, Stadium Verona boasts a 52,000 seat capacity and is the highest major sports field in the nation. Stadium Verona is also a multi-sport stadium that is constantly re-marked to contain whatever sport is comming. So players may get confused. Stadium Verona is sponsored by Verona Inc. Makers of fine quality Bazalonian cars. Check them out.

Stadium 5*
Via Voleta Dome was the nations biggest stadium until TeleBaz Stadium and CBBC Dome. It is located in Pinksford and has 62,000 places for the crowd to park their behinds and watch the game. Pinksford is a very frindly town but also have very strict ideas about what is acceptible behaviour. Expect to end up the night in jail if your celebrations get too boistrous.

Stadium 6*
Trevton City Enclosed Field as the name suggests is in Trevton city, it contains a total of 33,000 seats and is the only stadium/arena/dome/field that is not directly controlled by the BFSA however Trevton city does a great job at making sure this field is up there with the best that this nation has to offer.

Stadium 7*
CBBC Dome in Woolgolga was constructed especially for the Baptism of Fire and was financially supported by the Allanean-based firm Cute Bunny Burgers Corp, which has CBBC markings plastered all over the walls and on the field of this stadium. In addition the Bazalonian arm of the companies security division will be responsible for security once inside any and all stadiums used during the BoF. It contains a total of 81,000 seats and is only outseated by the nations crowning glory of a stadium. The TeleBaz Stadium.

Stadium 8*
Georgetown Nova Stadium, 59,000 seating capacity stadium in the highest altitude stadium in Bazalonia. It's cooler and has been known to have snow on it in winter. But it isn't winter but there are cold nights. Bring warm clothes.

*Please note: The names of the stadiums will be used, not the numbers, for all Bazaar CoH Hosting Comittee reports.

SACKED!
Vumaou gets the ole' pink slip after missing finals

The Football Association of Turori (FAT) has decided to terminate the contract of head coach Jualiar Vumaou after the national team failed to secure a position in the World Cup 32 finals in Geisenfried and Milchama. Vumaou's Eels were favored to qualify as the third seed in Group 2 behind Krytenia and Commerce Heights. While the top 2 seeds performed as advertised, Vumaou's Eels performed abysmally, placing 6th in the group with a sub-par 6-3-7 record and 21 points.

Vumaou first took control of the Turori National Team after World Cup 28 when the national team was shut out in the World Cup finals with losses to Ariddia, Fmjphoenix and Bedistan. Vumaous big plan for the future of Turori was a flock of genetically pure Cocoabo's, raised on Vumaou's own personal farmland outside of Waridi, Turori. Vumaou turned his back on many of the top footballers in Turori including bright young star Kristofer Kilpter in order to keep his dream of footballing cocoabo's alive. Unfortunately, Vumaou could not get approval in time to enter his Cocoabo's in World Cup 29 qualifying, costing the team valuable points and experience, haunting the nation's failed World Cup 30 qualifying effort.

World Cup 31 saw success, if only temporary, for Vumaou, leading his flock to the finals and creating a buzz of expectation for the World Cup 32 campaign and a hopeful return to the glory days of appearances in the World Cup Quarter Finals. But, it was not to be and the glory-less Eels will now focus their attempts on a second Cup of Harmony victory.

The Football Association of Turori has yet to name a successor for Vumaou, nor have they announced an interim caretaker or indicated whether or not Vumaou's Cocoabo's would still be available for selection during the upcoming Cup of Harmony tournament.

[Marion Hingle (Weather Presenter)] Bad weather tonight, major storms are expected right over the country early tomorrow morning, with flood warnings being posted in low-lying areas, including...oh, sorry, I'm hearing we have some breaking news coming in, over to Greg.

[Griffis] That's right, we've got some breaking news coming into us from our reporter in Squigg, over to Kyle Benning.
[Benning] Thanks Greg, yes I'm in Squigg, Port Flamerty state, where Mrs.Tibbles' cat has got stuck in a tree. Eyewitness reports are stating that it had got startled by the Channel 9 Newsdog, while Mrs.Tibbles, the cat's owner, says that the dog was released and encouraged to chase her cat to ease pressure off a slow news day. Of course, there is little to no credibility of th...
[Griffis] Sorry Kyle, BREAKING NEWS! The Bostopian National side's plane is about to land at Fort Boston International, over to Kayleigh Larfale who's at the scene.

[Larfale] I'm here LIVE at Fort Boston International Airport, awaiting the arrival of the jet carrying the Bostopian players back from their final international cup of this season, following their win over The HURD. Actually, I think you can just about see the plane now, yes, there it is. The BOSA-567 "Fighting Geesemonkey Sky-Cruiser", the only plane that carries the Bostopian National Team. As you can see the wheels are lowered for landing, let's watch it as it comes in to land.

The plane glides down toward the runway, before the wheels touch down onto the tarmac, to great applause from the travelling fans. The pilot slides on the reverse thrust, and the plane slows down to a suitable taxiing speed. The plane then begins the taxi over to the gate near where the fans are waiting.

[Larfale] That's it, the Bostopian team is home from their World Cup Qualification venture. In a matter of moments, the stairs will be brought to the front-side door of the aircraft to let the team off...here comes that vehicle now.

The door of the plane is opened, and the stairs are moved into place.

[Larfale] First off the plane is...Adam Collick! The Fighting Geesemonkeys manager, Adam Collick, hang on, he's being approached by someone.

TV shots show a man in national team colours running up to Adam and handing him a message. Adam turns round to the team, and signals something to them, and the team is heard to cheer from inside the aircraft.

[Larfale] I'll go see if I can get any news.

Kayleigh runs over to the bottom of the stairs.

[Larfale] Adam, what's going on?

[Collick] Bostopia...is going to the Cup of Harmony! THe international season's not over yet! GO FIGHTING GEESEMONKEYS! WHOO!

[Larfale] You heard it here first on Channel 9! Back to Greg in the studio.

((same everything as the world cup squad))

3-2-3-2 formation. (-2) modifier

Coach- Adam Billington age 52 Coach Billington, led Tynelia to its best ever showings in WC30 and 31 and reached the final eight of the CoH in both tries. Billington has not made any guarantees this time around of advancing since that move backfired on him last time. Rumor says this could be his final Cup as he has become frustrated at just falling short of the WC proper as well as not getting over the hump in the CoH as well.

Formation
…………Jakes……………………. C. MacDougal
Samson…………………Dawson……………….Thompson
………………Landers………………………Willis
Vhalis…………………...Stossels…………………Anderson………
……………………..Gordman…………………………….

G- Tom Gordman (29- starter) Touted as the next Valdimar Malloy, Gordman has finally made the move everyone had expected. Expected to carry the bulk of the Keepers role here Gordman seems to be ready for the test after pulling off the lowest goals against average in history last season.
G- Sean MacDougal (18-reserve) Sean MacDougal is part of the next generation of the MacDougal clan and nephew of the retired Alan MacDougal, his youngest uncle. Sean has the disadvantage of being the youngest of the three MacDougals on this squad and so was forced to be the keeper whenever they played. However this has made him the best younger keeper in the game as he won rookie of the year this year. Following his brothers in that as well as they took two of the previous three awards themselves

F- Connor MacDougal- (22- starter) The eldest of the MacDougal clan, Connor continued the family tradition of high scoring and attacking the net taking the goal scoring title in this his third year of league play. With brothers Sean and Duncan on the team Connor wants to make sure they both know which MacDougal is The MacDougal of the team.
F- Greg Samson (28- starter) Samson was the runner up in assists this year behind Thompson so the snipers up front look to have a excellent group of players setting them up for scoring chances at forward. He can score some himself but isn’t considered more than a fourth or fifth option on the team.
F-Mia Thompson (27-starter) After taking her third assists title in five years, Thompson has added a scoring touch as well in the last couple of years finishing in the top twenty in goals scored this season. Thompson will look to set up her league teammate MacDougal as they share the same side of the field to take advantage of this.
F- Bill Jakes (24- starter) The “scorinator” was a bit miffed at losing out to MacDougal by one goal for the overall scoring title this season stopping his streak at three years in a row. He did win offensive player of the year as he missed two matches due to injury so he actually had the highest goals/game average in the league. With last Cup’s experience behind him, Jakes is expected to be the top scorer on the squad though MacDougal naturally wants the title for himself. Needless to say these two will be firing all sorts of shots at net to see who will get bragging rights at the end.
F- Alan Dawson (28-starter) Dawson continues to be Mr. All Around. Solid on all sides of the field he is a better on defense than any of the other starting forwards which may be in part why he is getting a start to balance the overly aggressive players like MacDougal and Jakes.
F- Duncan MacDougal (20-reserve) The middle MacDougal was a bit upset to hear he would be a reserve and not a starter like his elder brother, but last year’s rookie of the year is no slouch in his own right. A top ten finish in overall scoring this past season but a better passer than his brother Connor so Duncan’s numbers are a bit more assist heavy than goal heavy though like all MacDougals he does possess the scorer’s knack for being in the right place at the right time.
F-Jay Masterson (42- reserve) the young hotshot has now officially become the “grand old man” of Tynelian soccer. Living up to his vow of not retiring until he actually makes it to the World Cup, Masterson is back again though some have argued a younger set of legs should have been included on the squad instead. Despite limited minutes each game in league play, Masterson still managed to break the top twenty in goals scored. It’s expected that Masterson will take on the sniper’s role off the bench if the team needs a goal late. Some have started a rumor that Masterson plans to replace Coach Billington when the latter steps down as head coach. Masterson refuses to comment on this.

M- Randy Willis (27- starter) Willis returns to his third Cup and has blossomed into a complete player on both sides of the ball. While not afraid to move up and push the pace with the forwards he also has the instincts to know when to hold back on defense. He is the best in the league at picking up a counterattack before it even starts.
M- Debbie Landers- (25-starter) Landers is still a ball magnet on the field always going after the play. This has led to an occasionally breakdown defensively but Coach Billington likes her aggressive style of play and so he brought her along again this time around. She is good at pushing the pace once she does get the ball so her defensive lapses are usually forgiven.
M- Tom Tippen (25-reserve) Tippen was among the leaders in goal differential this year with a +13 mark which has earned him a spot on the squad. Tippen is expected to see some regular playing time off the bench. A good ballhandler, Tippen can be counted on to slow down the pace of play when the opponent starts to get on an offensive roll.
M/F- Rachel Harrington (23-reserve) Harrington impressed a lot of people in her second year with her aggressive style of play at midfield. Second behind Duncan MacDougal in the rookie of the year voting, Harrington continued to play well in her second year. Late in the season her coaches moved her to forward thinking it a better match for her push the ball upfield style of play than midfield was and she did well with three goals in four matches. Billington has stated that she will get a chance to play in both spots this Cup.

D- Jane Stossels (24-starter) Winner of the Defensive player of the year, Stossels continues the fine defensive tradition her father John brought to the field. Now the anchor of the defense Jane expects to live up to the high levels her father set and surpass them if she can.
D- Alexander Vhalis (30-starter) Vhalis returns again after another strong defensive season and a sturdy +11 goal differential. Steady and reliable Vhalis has learned to control his aggressiveness on the field after swinging from one end of the spectrum to the other over his career.
D- Kim Anderson (30-starter) Finally healthy, Anderson hasa fully recovered from the injuries which kept her out to the lineup last Cup. Her instincts have gotten better to make up for the half step she’s lost from her injuries so her play seems hardly affected by them. Anderson wishes to make up for what she calls the “lost Cup” of four years ago where she was forced to mostly sit and watch her teammates fall just short yet again.
D/G- Brian Barns (26-reserve) Barns continues his odd role this year as well as he rotates from defender to keeper for the fifth straight season. Barns suffers the problem of being good in both areas so his coaches can never decide what spot to keep him at. Still spending more time on defense, that is where Barns expects to get his playing time at.
D- Jacob Marshall (24-reserve) Marshall is a newcomer to the World Cup scene but did make the conference All Star squad this season. Marshall is a stay at home defender who prefers to force the attacker to make the first move before making his counter rather than get in their face and force the issue. While some dislike this style, it seems to work well for him.

After Successful World Cup Qualifiers, Assegai Focuses on Cup of Harmony

Although Assegai Developments was the first footballing nation in the YoungWorld region, for the reigning YoungWorld League and Valendia Cup Champions, it was only their second time in the NationStats World Cup qualifiers. Last time, Assegai took their lumps, entering qualifying as an unranked team. Having to face the No. 1 team in NationStates in their very first game, the Riskbreakers went through Hellfire and brimstone, suffering several blowout losses, including a humiliating 0-10 loss to Qazox at Cathedral Park.

Ranked No. 102 entering NSWC XXXII qualifying, Assegai was grouped again with Qazox, and while the Black Oxen, Assegai’s newest rival, promised a repeat of the beating they doled out last time, NationStates footballing pundits admitted that Assegai’s rank belied their true potential and warned other nations to take Assegai seriously.

Assegai more than outlived expectations, defeating lower-ranked opponents handily, notching upset after upset after upset against the higher-ranked teams, even defeating No. 9 ranked Ariddia, one of the superpowers of NationStates football. Entering the last day of qualifying, Assegai had surged to the final qualifying spot. However, a tough 0-3 loss to No. 14 Schiavonia, coupled with No. 42 Wentland defeating No. 50 Lisburn Mateys, 1-0, dropped Assegai to fourth, with Wentland qualifying by two points over the Riskbreakers.

What about Qazox? Although Assegai still couldn’t defeat them, the Riskbreakers played them hard, losing 3-4 the first time and 1-3 in the return leg. NationStates football pundits all agree: the future looks bright for Assegai Developments football.

Entering the Cup of Harmony for the second time, Assegai’s rank took a leap to No. 63, and the Riskbreakers are planning to climb higher up the charts and bring the same go-hard, die-hard mentality to the field that brought them so much success in the World Cup XXXII qualifiers.

Starter Players:
Coach Charles DuPont is coaching the Sel Appa National Team for the third straight attempt for the Cup of Harmony. He brought the Turtles into the international football world and delivered a top non-qualifier spot after only three attempts. Always optimistic, DuPont strongly believes Sel Appa will advance to the Knockout Rounds.

GK Vasily Kashchenko is renowned throughout Sel Appa for his abilities in the net. He expects his mastery in the net to show at this Cup of Harmony. He expects to keep the number of goals conceded in this tournament as quite low.

DF Kash Vasou is a rookie and little is known about him in major games. He was recruited because of his remarkable back-pitch abilities and ability to coordinate well with the goalkeeper. He was often said to be a second goalkeeper.

DF Bernard Apple is known for his coming "out of nowhere" and sending the ball far down the pitch with just a kick.

DF Jimmy Peech is known in Sel Appa as "The Wall" for his large size that allows him to block balls. He is a very important part of every defensive wall.

MF Jacques Latortue is well-known in Sel Appa for enabling swift connections between defense and strikers. It was once said that "the ball was heading back upfield before he even got it".

MF Colin Patette is a master midfielder and probably Sel Appa's best. He can work in almost any situation and ensures that the ball is always in front of him. He acted as captain during Estevez's suspension during WC32 and delivered a 7-2 victory over Algal States. Many see him as a possible replacement for Estevez, should he retire.

MF Arthur Mercator IV has a long football lineage going back to his great-grandfather Arthurt "Art" Mercator I. All have been excellent well-known players who have amazed many. Arthur's son, Arthur Mercator V, is also considering a professional football career.

FW Alan Dubrov is one of Sel Appa's youngest players and is expected to be around for some time. He is considered one of Sel Appa's best footballers and is expected to put on a good show.

FW George Bedding saw his first international match after replacing injured forward Alan Dubrov in the match against Tocapa. However, he received a yellow card after only 15 minutes in game. Bedding helped Sel Appa defeat Algal States 7-2 in WC32 during the suspensions of many top players.

FW Lee Reshom is a fairly defensive striker and has rarely scored a goal. He focuses on trying to prevent opposing forces from attacking.

FW Estevez is widely regarded as Sel Appa's best footballer and has made over 100 goals in his career. He is well-known for being able to make virtually every shot, from corner kicks to free kicks to penalty kicks. He plans to show off much of his skills and is fairly certain Sel Appa will make the Knouckout Rounds. He is the team's captain and does this job well.

FW Alex Nart is Estevez's attacking partner and the two are often seen charging down the pitch gracefully and often scoring a goal. Many regard him as a co- or vice-captain to Estevez.

St. Louis is quite strange. He is not tall like most keeps, and he likes to roam around the box far more than average goalies. However for all is reckless and unorthodox play, he is clutch when it comes down to pressure situations.

Defenders

23 Clint Centron, Baysleef Bombers
Age - 1196
Has proved that he deserves this spot, despite his occasionaly misplay. His recovery speed enables the cocky elf to make up for his mistakes, and stone opposing strikers when they think they are free on net.

18 Liliam Kries, Rinaldi Gunners
Age - 1253
A solid force in the back, who uses her great footwork and patience to frustrate strikers all throughout the match. Was the first woman to win defender of the year, and looks to continue on her excelent play in the international scene from tournaments past.

43 Gabriel Florez, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1124
Has worked her way from the very bottom, being a walk on player at Hondo, to the Premiership and national team. She has the can do attitude that was enabled last tournament contention and her expierence of climbing the ranks has toughened her into a well respected member of the locker room.

13 Placibus Hardsworth, Cathedral Spooks (Assegai)
Age - 1150
Placibus is the strong and quiet one on the back line. He comes to the pitch day in, day out, and does what is expected of him without complaint. He will venture up field during prolonged attacks and on set pieces. Has been working on his crossing to help solidify his position.

Midfield

9 Marsha Stone, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age - 1153
She is the midfield general and everyone on the team respects her play and personality as one, if not the, best on the team. Quick feet and thinking are just some of her great gifts. Had to overcome a nasty ankle injury a few years back, and it has yet to be seen if it has affected her play.

22 Rick Cuellar, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age: 1049
Rick is the playmaker in the midfield, with the uncanny ability to see plays developing before they happen. This leads to many assists for the youngster, and also the thanks of his strikers. WIth Revtron taking the reigns and Tobias joining the squad, his hopes of making the forward spot are slim for the next few tournaments, but he continues to work on his striking skills to capitalize when the chance occurs.

14 MF Justinian Constant, Mar Sara Flames
Age: 1121
Constant lives up to his name, with constant and steady play. He's the jack of all trades in the midfield, able to do everything well, but nothing great. However, his easy going attitude, and smart play allows him to crack the starting line up once more.

Forwards

28 Tobias Raynor, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1287
Tobias proved during World Cup 31 qualification and the following CoH, that he has the skills and the attitude to compete with anyone on the team, or in the world stride for stride. After spending three years with the Inferno, his skills continue to shine, and he hopes to be part of a three headed monster of an attack.

7 Kyla Night, Raynor City Rockers
Age - 1086
The "Devil's Kiss" looks to torment defenders much like she does in every competition. Already the leading goal scorer in ESF history, she will look to add onto her already amazing resume. She will likely be guarded by the best defender by the opposition throughout the ESF' run. She continues to gain in speed and strenth, making her even more deadly in the attacking third.

8 Zacharius ©, Raynor City Rockers
Age - 1197
A great striker in his own right, vision to see plays devloping, and a master of the header. When paired with Night, he tends to get free and into excellent scoring positions, either putting them away or finding a teammate in a better spot.

Turtles plan spectacular Cup of Harmony run

After just missing out on entering the World Cup 32 Finals, Sel Appa has been invited to the Cup of Harmony. Being top non-qualifier in group convinced many that this Cup of Harmony would likely see the Turtles advance from the Group Stage. So far, several invitations are still pending and therefore, the group draw has not yet taken place. Only speculation can arise into what Sel Appa may see at this Cup of Harmony.

The following nations have accepted their invitation to the Cup of Harmony: Assegai Developments, Tynelia, Qazox, New Propagandia, Elves Security Forces, Demot, Bostopia, Commerce Heights JSY, Green wombat, Sativaville, Ropa-Topia, Turori, The Mice of Miceland. Of these, Sel Appa has played Tynelia, Elves Security Forces, Green wombat, and Sativaville. Here is a detailed chart of records with said nations:

WC31 Sel Appa 0 - 2 Green wombat
WC31 Sel Appa 0 - 1 Tynelia
WC31 Sel Appa 2 - 3 Green wombat
WC31 Sel Appa 1 - 1 Tynelia
CoH23 Sel Appa 0 - 1 Sativaville
WC32-F Sel Appa 4 - 3 ESF

Opponent |GF|GA|W|D|L|GD|PT|
------------|--|--|-|-|-|--|--|
Sativaville | 2| 5|0|0|3|-3| 0|
Green wombat| 2| 5|0|0|2|-3| 0|
Tynelia | 1| 2|0|1|1|-1| 1|
ESF | 4| 3|1|0|0| 1| 3|

As can be seen, Sel Appa has a 1-1-4 record against these sides, however, they are only a few of the potential opponents for the Turtles. More is yet to be seen.

Estevez has again hinted at possible retirement, saying he would like to settle down with his family. Coach DuPont assured that Estevez would stay on until Sel Appa qualifies. There is speculation that a good Cup of Harmony run would be enough for Estevez. Colin Patette would be slated to replace him as captain and as a forward. After bringing a 7-2 victory over Algal States as acting captain, Patette enjoys strong popularity.

Miceland Mice Roster

4-5-1

Style: -3

The following is also a list of the team that will take part in CoH od WC32

F - Fievel ChurchMouse, a irrepresibbly bright, positive and perky individual that is always opptimistic little mice who is the mousling of the group but has shown great football talent and may just be the first mouse to get a gig in another nation. #27

M - Sickly PlagueMouse, Sickly is not a carrier of plague or any other disease he just looks like he does. #34

M - Charity Fieldmouse, a mouse that accidently got himself trapped on an international trade ship that had gone around half the world. Fievel had managed to get himself back to Miceland and it's this determination that makes him a great midfield mouse. #63

M - Stuart Littlemouse, a mouse that was an orphan who's mother died after giving birth to him and his father had put him up for adoption because he could not cope with the loss of his father. Stuart had never known a decent family until he started licing with the Littlemouses and start to channel his problems into football. Oh, and he is also the leader of the nation the First Mouse.

M - Piper FluteMouse, the musician of the team has a knack of coming up with songs that seem to fit the situaition as required. He prefers playing his flute but does sing on the occasion where his flute is missing

M - Input ComputerMouse, the technologist of the team it seems there is not a computer-based device that he cannot operate. oh, and he's also a good midfielder

D - Sightless ThirdMouse, despite being blind from birth Sightless's hearing alwayshas been at the exctent that he did not need his sight to acurrately locate the ball even without a beeper inside.

D - Nibbler FatMouse, Nibbler is slightly plump and generally is always the closest mouse to the goal keeper. Nibbler isn't technically fat but he is certainly not in as good a physical condition as the majority of the team and has the lowest stamina but he can certainly make a couple of really good head on charges and engage an enemy attacker and has the mass to be able to physically check opponents.

D - Angel BalerinaMouse, an ex-Balerina who took up football here Ballerina style, grace and agility make her a perfect defender to be in the right place at the right time to remove the steal the ball from the opposing attackers

D - Reepicheap, the only mouse in the squad that no one knows their last name. "Reep" as he as affeciately known to those who call him Reepochip to his face. Reep has a violent streak, well actually a very strong sense of honour and if he decides that you have dishonoured him then expect some very harsh treatment. This couls come on or of the field but a on-field slight is usually dealt with on field. Though once the slight has been dealt with he doesn't bare a grudge. Unless shifty and underhanded measures are involved to ensure that he cannot get his payback and then the grudge is for his entire lifetime.

K - Pinky WinslowMouse, a slightly weird and near brain dead but his reaction speeds are second to none.

RP Permissions: Just don't kill anyone. Though Fievel and Sickly are to be the only scorers

Qazox' national team sat in an airport located somewhere not in Qazox.

"Holy shit, can you belive the crap that has gone down since the last time we were home?" asked Adolf Limburger.

"And we can't go home not with the travel ban into Qazox in effect, not to mention our sub-par performance", replied the coach, Reggie Hassok. "Besides, got good news, somewhat, We're going to Bazalonia or The Islands of Qutar for the Cup of Harmony."

"I'd rather be going to Geisenfried or Milchama, Coach" said Fernando Turek "But anywhere is better that this airport..speak of which just where are we?"

"dunno, I think chicanada or something, since there's nothing out hter but this airport. YAY!! here comes our plane!!!" said Wendy Richie.

As the team boarded thier plane, a person stood in the shadows, watching them. "Sir...the team is on its way." the man said into his radio.

"Ok, get on that plane and make sure that nothing happens to them, the Golden Dusk has many people and they could see the Team as a threat, if they start winning" a voice replied over the radio. "If somwhow they win the Cup of Harmony, i think the tide of this civil war could change."

Amateur Eels ready to POO. on Competition!

The Football Association of Turori made two major announcements today in the build up to their Cup of Harmony for World Cup 32 run. After the sacking of former coach Jualiar Vumaou, The Football Association has yet to name a successor to take the realm over the course of the Cup of Harmony and behind, but it is believed that Vilita & Turori AOCAF co-managers Malaino Mumamba will play some role in the nations Cup of Harmony campaign as the former Turori midfielder was absent from the regional sides 7-2 victory over Nojika in Myrtannia this past weekend, and was instead in Turori at the Football Association headquarters. It is believed that Mumamba is the mind behind the recently released tournament roster, which includes a host of Amateur level players who have not featured for either the National or Regional sides in the past.

The second major announcement was a change in kit manufacturer. The Eels apparently received a large financial offer from the Professional Outfitters of Orlyburg (POO.) in addition to the provision of kits as the small time kit manufacturer from Bostopia looks to increase its reputation on the global scale.

http://www.3wideracing.com/3wide/sites/ao/sports/kits/wc/turori32.gif

It is currently unknown how long the relationship between the Football Association of Turori and the Bostopian based POO. is originally scheduled to last for, but it is clear that this will be the choice kit for the duration of the Cup of Harmony in Bazalonia & Qutar.

Black Oxen Head Coach Reggie Hassok sat in his hotel room, watching the news, and seeing how the civil war was tearing Qazox apart.

'We got to win this CoH... if we can prove that football or any sport can rise above the predjudices and fears of any nation, there just maybe hope yet for Qazox.' he thought as he waited for the telephone call that would tell him the group draw.

While Reggie was sitting by the phone, pondering whatever it was he was pondering, a man stood watch outside of his window, searching the area for any who might take this oppertunity, to destroy the one remaining part of Qazox untouched by war.

"Raven to Crow, Raven to Crow. Any signs of snakes?" the man spoke into his Blue-tooth receiver.

"Crow to Raven, No signs of snakes, Vulture has neutralised a potential threat, over." CROW replied.

"Raven to Vulture, come in Vulture.." RAVEN asked.

"Vulture here Raven. I found an unauthorized person in the kitchen area, but it turned out it was a new hire. Background checks out, no snakebites in the kitchen, repeat no sankebites in the kitchen." VULTURE answered. "any word yet from the rest of the flock?"

"No not yet. Starling hasn't had a chance yet to call in, but she knows what she is doing. Unless she has to her cover will not be broken, understood, do not break Starling's cover unless absolutly necessary copy flock?" RAVEN told his audience. Numerous replies of "Yes" or "affirmative" came back, as RAVEn continued his watch.

Group D
Tynelia (32)
ESF (40)
Sel Appa (58)
Commerce Heights JSY (66)
New Propogandia (92)
Ratings provided by Quakmybush and are not official.

Sel Appa has been drawn in Group D along with: Tynelia, ESF, Commerce Heights JSY, and New Propogandia. Of these, Sel Appa has played Tynelia and ESF. Only Tynelia was played in an official match. In World Cup 31, Sel Appa was defeated 0-1 and drew 1-1 against Tynelia. A fairly decent group placing the Turtles in the middle, it appears virtually certain that they will advance to the Round of 16. Prospects are high for this Cup of Harmony after Sel Appa's spectacular 7-5-4 record, just short of qualifying.

The tournament is designed with 4 matchdays and 1 bye day per team. So far, several predictions have been posted. The most common one being a 3-1-0 record, with the draw against Tynelia. Most agree that losses will be minimal at 1 or 0, and with a slight chance of two losses. Exact score predictions have not yet been posted by any bookkeeper.

FFSA Officially Drops Friendlies From Records

The FFSA officially dropped friendly matches from its records, citing that they did not affect the KPB rating and therefore should not affect official records. Only four matches were affected by this. Sel Appa 2-1 Alif Laam Miim, Sel Appa 4-4 Bazalonia, Sel Appa 4-3 Elves Security Forces, and Sel Appa 2-2 Bazalonia. A spokesman for the Federation said this change will have minimal affect on record keeping and said that most unofficial records disregarded friendlies anyway. Domestic records never counted friendles.

Sativaville Stoner
Eating one Dorito at a time.

Well after yet another close but no joint performance during qualifing, Sativaville enters another Cup of Harmony, and this time they are ready to make a statement. Here's the group draw for the Stoners:

Spaam
Sativaville
The Mice of Miceland
Snub Nose 39
Bushes Been Quaked

Spaam is the toughest of these opponents, but the other 3 teams in the draw are no push overs either. Our best guess as to Sativaville's finish is 2-1-1, 7pts and finishing in 2nd place.

QSPN.com Football Central Report

As the civil rages on in Qazox, the national team, sits in The Islands of Qutar, waiting for the Cup of Harmony to begin. The group draw was earlier today, and somehow Qazox received one of the top-4 seeds. They were drawn into Group B with the following teams:

Demot
Ropa-Topia
Bostopia
The Great Monty Python

Of our opponents the only one we have played before is Bostopia, whose shocking victory over the Black Oxen during World Cup 29 Qualifing, 14 years ago, still sickens most fans today. Well here's a chance at some revenge. As for the other 3 teams, TGMP is too inexperienced, but cannot be overlooked to pull of a possible draw. Ropa-Topia is a decent team and their solid midfield play could cause some problems for the older Oxen. Demot is the biggest threat as they are roughly ranked the same as us and play a similar style. While the final schedule has not yet been released, our simulators have run 1000 senarios and we present to you the results. Please note the percentages are the number of times the team finished in 1st place in the group divided by 1000.

Qazox- 40.9%
Demot- 39.8%
Bostopia- 11.3%
Ropa-Topia- 7.5%
TGMP- 0.5%

"So Adam are you sure you don;t want to come back next Cup? You've had the best run of any Coach we've had?" TSF president Michael Lee asked.

"Sorry Mike, i'm done after the CoH. Besides we all know Jay isn't going to stop going until he actually makes a World Cup. I don;t want to be the one to tell him he isn;t going to make the team age 46. let someone else do it." Coach Adam Billington answered.

"But you guys are friends he'll understand."

"Maybe Mike but i'm not going to hear it from the people who still follow the Cup as being the one to end Jay's dream. He's probably the most popular sports figure in history right now because of his dedication.; Have someone else do it."

"Well maybe he'll retire if we win the Cup of Harmoy. What's your plan for that?"

"Honestly the first round seems simple enough, just have to beat one other team in the group to get to the knockouts. I'm giving the reserves a good chunk of playing time here. I kept them sitting a lot in the WC group play because we were so close. Time to let them show their stuff. Keep the styarters rested for the knockouts too."

"So you think you'll win it?"

"Don't really have to win it right now. we're the top seed in the group so it might actually benefit us to not finish first, hope the top seed in our half gets knocked out by someone else and we move on from there. We're one of the top seeds in the whole thing this time around so we should have a good chance of making the semis at least."

"And then will masterson retire? it'd be a best finish ever."

"I told you, Jay's gone on record time and time again that he'll keep playing til he makes it to a world cup. Even if we win here he'll try to come back. And he won't like it if he's added as a token or honorary player either. he'll want to be on the field."

"We'll think of something if you're sure about this. Fours years is a long time, who knows what might happen between now and then, maybe he'll get sick of it."

"Good luck on that."

"OK then Coach, give it your best."

[Griffis] And now with the sport, Kayleigh Larfale.

[Larfale] Thanks Greg. Well, the group draws for the Cup of Harmony have been made, this of course being Bostopia's first ever time in the C.O.H. Bostopia have been drawn into Group B, and will soon be travelling to Qutar. Let's take a look at the teams in our group.

Group B

Qazox
Demot
Ropa-Topia
BOSTOPIA
The Great Monty Python

Bostopia have only played two teams before in our group. 14 years ago, in World Cup 29 qualifying - our first attempt, where as an unranked team we were drawn with Qazox. The home game in the Bostopia Arena was a 5 - 0 loss, but we managed to beat them 3 - 1 in their stadium, leaving the team to make a hasty exit from angry fans.

More recently, Bostopia played Ropa-Topia in our unsuccessful WC32 qualifying bid. We drew 1 - 1 in our first group game at the Bostopia Arena, but lost 3 - 2 in a battling game in Ropa-Topia.

Dear Diary

So, the squad has accepted the invite to the Cup of Harmony over in the friendly nations of Bazalonia and Qutar, and are preparing for their first match tonight. They landed themselves in Group D that has a powerhouse of a squad, and then a bunch of nobodies besides ourselves, and with four teams advancing from the group stage per group, the Marauders are pretty much assured a place in the knockouts. However, for fun, I'll go over these so called squads.

Tynelia is that nation that always has a great squad, but somehow never makes it into the Cup Proper. This string of finishing outside the qualification spots is stunning, but this makes them ever the more dangerous, as they are one of the early favorites to win the whole tournament. The squad will need to be in full form and have some momentum if they are to take down this squad, or even pull a draw.

Sel Appa is a team on the rise, that appearntly toppled a Marauder B team in a friendly a few weeks back in the qualifiers. The pose no real threat to the Marauders as far as I can tell, but they could cause trouble if the Marauders don't take care of business like what happened during the second half of qualification.

JSY is the younger brother of the Captilzt Slani side, and is nowhere near as good as the side that has already won a championship. Should prove to be nothing more than fodder for the supeiror ESF squad. I have no clue who New Propogandia is, but suffice to say, the squad should thwack them as well.

Demot Daily ~ Harmony To Us Please!

The Dynamo, dissapointed in having such a great qualification record and not making a repeat trip to the Cup Proper are looking to exact their frustrations on the lowly squads in Group B of the latest edition of the Cup of Harmony in the nation of Qutar. The team looks to be one of the early favorites to win the group, and perhaps the entire tournament, with Qazox being the only percieved threat to the Dynamo in the group. This is likely the last go around for many of the veterans on the squad, and coach Dogood will be looking to send off these valiant warriors in style and glory.

As for the rest of the group, Qazox is indeed the toughest oppenent, being the top seed somehow, and will be looking to make up for their rather lackluster qualification attempt. Being friends with the nation of Assegai, the Dynamo will be espicially looking forward to this match and a potential win for both them and to avenge the thrashing their friends have taken the last two Cups.

Ropa-Topia was nearly invisable for most of the qualifiers, and should not pose any threat to the Dynamo's likely 2nd or 1st place finish in the group, with the Dynamo attack likely too much for the nation that was attacked by a giant tux during the late bit of qualifiers.

Bostopia and the Great Monty Python are both relative newcomers to this tounament, and will be fighting off each other for the last spot into the knockouts. Demot will be looking to the Bostopia match with some glee though, to exact revenge upon them for a toppling of our former colony masters on the ESF.

Riskbreakers Prepare For Their Group

For the Assegai Developments National Team, the mission before NationStates World Cup XXXII qualifying was to earn a measure of respect and experience. However, after finishing fourth in their group with a record of 9-2-5 and missing out on a spot in the Cup Proper by two points, they exceeded all expectations…even their own.

So what will the Riskbreakers do for an encore?

“First and foremost, we certainly do not want to stumble after going so far,” said Assegai midfielder and team captain Ashley Riot. “I never doubted our team had the desire, drive and determination to win big games, but to come so close and just miss the Cup Proper…it was frustrating. However, where others would just mope, we realize how far we’ve come and that the road ahead is long and winding and we’re not about to let up.”

In fact, the Assegai Developments National Team has been participating in two-a-day practice sessions and plan to stage a closed-doors scrimmage with Elves Security Forces to prepare both sides before the Cup of Harmony kicks off.

Assegai pulled off momentous upsets during qualifying, including the huge 2-1 victory over (then No. 9) Ariddia, which set off a week-long celebration in every corner of the land. This time around, Assegai has to reload and prepare for a whole set of new opponents.

Turori
A well-respected, strong squad that will fight for the top spot in the group. Despite Assegai’s accomplishments in the past, they won’t benefit from catching opponents unawares, and Turori will likely throw everything at the Riskbreakers. If Assegai can defeat them, though…

Green Wombat
“We’ve heard a lot about Green Wombat and we’re aware of what a great squad they have and we look forward to playing them,” said Assegai forward Samantha Neesa. Indeed, Green Wombat is another tall order for the Riskbreakers, who are seemingly overmatched. Games, however, are played on the field, not on paper.

Yafor 2
The Assegai coaching staff admitted that they know very little about this squad, but that won’t stop them from tearing at them from whistle to whistle. If Assegai can pull off any upsets in the CoH, Yafor 2 is it.

The HURD
Although The HURD is ranked lower than Assegai, the Riskbreakers won’t take them lightly. After all, Assegai earned a reputation for victimizing higher-ranked opponents and they’re not looking forward to letting the same happen to them.

All in all, it should be another decent run for the Riskbreakers. However, fans shouldn’t expect the team to go too deep or win this tournament. Even with all the team’s success and bravado they are still going through an adolescent phase and that means a lot of ups and downs.

Hey everyone, Cup of Harmony has started and hopefully we'll do better than last time. It would be great to get to the semis or finals this time. Yeah the Tynelian Soccer Fed asked me to do these day by day things here to give the readers a feel of what its like to be on the sidelines of these matches. Since Coach hasn;t really given me much playtime i got nothing better to do.

We played the Elves today but everyone seemed a bit blah about the game. Maybe its because you just have to avoid being last to move to the knockouts. Either way there wasn;t any kind of the tension that i saw at the Cup. Almost like a scrimmage kinda.

We started off fast with Connor firing a bullet past their keeper, how does that guy kick the ball so hard anyway? Think it was around the 25 minute mark, i wasn't really paying attention to the clock. Then Bill added another just before the half. I swear those two are more concerned with beating each other more than the other team.

Anyway we sat back and stalled pretty much the whople second half. The Elves got one back on a nice header off a corner kick about halfway through the second half. i couldn't see the number of who scored. Besides most of you probably wouldn't know if i made one up or not anyway. Anyway that was the final and Coach still didn;t look like he would be sending me at anytime soon. I think he's still mad about the whole sunflower seed incidient. I told him i didn;t know it was his bag and i was hungry...

Well we're 1-0-0 now tied with Sel Appa. I fiugre another point or two and we're in so nice to get the win out of the way now. Hey when we clinch maybe Coach will give me some playing time!

Mikaela Eyre is standing with Assegai Developments midfielder and team captain Ashley Riot, whose head is covered with a blood-stained towel.

“Good evening to you and yours, wherever you may be,” she says to the camera. “This is Mikaela Eyre reporting live from Yafor 2. Tonight, the Assegai Developments National Team lost a controversial match against the host team, 0-1, with the lone goal coming on a dubious penalty kick late in the game after two Assegai goals were disallowed for unspecified reasons. The last 10 minutes of the game degenerated into aggressiveness from both sides, which boiled over after the final whistle, with players from both sides engaging in a huge bench-clearing brawl.”

She turns to Riot, who wipes a streak of blood from his chin with the towel and removes it, revealing several scrapes and cuts on his face in addition to a bloody nose.

“What happened out there, Ashley?” she asks him.

“Normally I don’t blame the outcome of our games on the officials, but the officiating tonight was a crime and the final result is a sick joke,” he says angrily. “We were prepared to take on these thugs and we nailed them twice, but the refs weren’t paying attention it seems or simply ignored the obvious, disallowing both our goals. Those were clear goals! We saw the replays after the game—we were robbed! Then, as if that wasn’t painful enough…and arrrrrgh…frustrating…they give these undeserving goons a penalty kick! The guy dove! In fact, the ref red carded Alys Spicer when she wasn’t even near their player. What is that? It’s crime, I tell you.”

“What about those last 10 minutes? What brought on that brawl?” she asks.

Riot shakes his head. “After they got that goal in the 80th minute and Alys was gone, they wanted to press their advantage and became increasingly violent,” he says. “We’ve played some really violent games against some teams in our region, so we’re never going to back down from a fight. The really horrible thing was that the ref let this happen. All those fouls really disrupted our game and riled up our players, and what you saw at the end was the end result. And where was the ref, who should have tried to break us up? He went scampering off the field like a cowardly goat.”

“Was anyone injured in the brawl?” she asks.

“Noting serious, although our keeper, Edward van de Beauchamp, bruised his knuckles in the fight,” he responds. “But it was an ugly fight. One of their players even tackled our forward Samantha Neesa and was groping her until our backup keeper Callo Merlose knocked him off of her.”

Mikaela gasps. “Is she okay?”

“Yeah, she’s fine, just really angry and a bit bruised,” he says, sighing. “This game was a total nightmare. The best we can do now is to just shake it off and move on to the next game against The HURD. Hopefully, this time, the match officials will do a better job.”

“What do you expect from The HURD?” she asks.

“Well, they’re a lower ranked team and that means that they’re very hungry…like us,” he says, wiping some blood from his nose. “We’ll just have to take a bite out of them before they do the same to us, and hopefully we’ll end up with the win.”

Mikaela nods.

“Thanks for your comments, Ashley,” she says as he waves and walks off. “Fans, thank you for tuning in. Have a great night. This is Mikaela Eyre signing off.”

Making up for a few upsets at the World Cup qualifiers, Sel Appa sent four balls into the opposing net, without conceding one. The team, under Estevez again, has shown it will not be showed up by other groupmates. The match went underway as expected and Arthur Mercator quickly came in with a 7th minute goal. JSY subsequently tried to equalize it, but failed with Sel Appan keeper Vasily Kashchenko punching the ball back up to midfield. Sel Appa kept the ball upfield and soon Colin Patette found himself face-to-face with the enemy goalkeeper. His low shot was deflected, but he was able to get a second try and scored in the 21st minute. The scoreline was at 2-0, for Sel Appa. As Alex Nart tried to get a goal of his own, a JSY defender grossly tripped him in the box. He was substituted with George Bedding, due to injury. A penalty was awarded and taken by Estevez, who successfully converted it in the 39th minute. With only a few minutes left in the half, no one scored any further, although JSY came quite close a few times.

With the scoreline at 3-0 and Sel Appa seeming to be secure with a victoy, the whistle opened the second half. An immediate JSY attack got extremely close, forcing the Kashchenko to deflect the ball and let it go for a corner. The corner was unsuccessful with a Sel Appan interception that brought it into a Sel Appan attack. This attack proved unsuccessful, but Sel Appa was only pushed back just past the centreline. Estevez quickly devised a sneaky plan with Colin Patette that had them both on the outside. Patette passed the ball to Estevez at the last minute, which he scored a fourth goal for the team with in the 66th minute. Furious, JSY set up a huge defense and sent a few attackers forward to try to even out the scoreline. This ultimately failed, seeing over a dozen attacks from JSY. The whistle blew with only a minute of stoppage time. The scoreline rested at 4-0.

Sel Appa's 4-0 victory against Commerce Heights JSY puts them at the top of the table with 3 points and a +4 goal difference. Alex Nart said he would be ready for the next match against Elves Security Forces, which many say will be a draw. Here are the current group standings:

Demot Daily ~ FLUed

It was supposed to be a clash of the group's finest squads, and a start to a good run in the Cup for the Dynamo, but just a day before the fixture, the entire squad came down with a new strain of the flu despite the entire squad getting thier flu shots a few months ago. Despite being bogged down with the illness, the team had to set forth their top players in hope of taking away some crucial points in the opening match of the tournament.

However, in hindsight this was not a good decision by Dogood, as the Oxen of Qazox trampled over the Dynamo a devestating 3-0, Orien too busy blowing his nose to even attempt to save the shots on goal. Yet, now the team is well again, and should be 100% when they take on the Ropa-Topia squad. The Dynamo are the clear favorite and will just have to limit their mistakes to ensure three points and back into form.

Dear Diary

Tommorow is just another day as was yesterday and every other day really, and that is what my friends of the national team will have to keep in mind as they try to recover from their loss at the hands of the wretched Tynelians. Those crazy dudes even wrote about the game on their Myspaces and forgot to include who scoured our goal. Not the classiest thing to do in my opinion, at least not when you're supposed to be one of the best squads in the world, but I guess that could be part of the reason they never make it to the Proper.

The atmosphere at the game was pretty bland, with little excitement coming from either side. I found it very annoying that no one seemed all that concerned about the result of the match, as if it was merely a third division club match. I mean, cmon, this is international football, you're supposed to be pouring your heart out cheering and rooting on your side, booing the others, and just overall having a good time. Instead, this felt like we were at some lame reunion that everybody hated the relatives and just showed up for the free food.

Well, they took opening blood in the 26th minute when Connor slipped by Centron and and was able to put a bullet past a startled St. Louis, who had no chance to react to the shot. The team seemed shaked by conceding a goal soo soon, and were suspect to another attack which came minutes before the half, about the 40th minute, by some guy named Bill off a dead ball situation. It was not a pleasant half time speech by Revtron from what my parents tell me, he critisized their effort, tactics, and heart. He really struck a nerve in the squad, and they came out firing on all cyclinders.

The Tynelia backline started to buckle in the 64th minute, but the squad still couldn't crack their netminder. However, in the 71st minute, Zacharius was able to get in on net on a breakaway. He got off a powerful shot on net that the keeper made a spectacular dive to, and was able to tip it out of the line for a corner. Cuellar lined it up, and sent in the beautiful inswinger that Justinan rose above everyone for, and laser guided it past their keep. That guy always seems to find special ways to contribute, and his hard work was finally paid off I guess. It's going to be fun to play against him in the upcoming season.

As for the rest of the match, the squad was again unable to crack the oppisition, and had to settle with this one goal defeat. Now they just have to make sure their minds are right as they take on Sel Appa, who has been sporting about how good their squad is after taking down our B squad back at the halfway leg of qualifying. The squad is looking gleefully to shutting up the cocky little bug, and showing Sel Appa their proper place in the scheme of things.

Head Coach Reggie Hassok's Post-match Press Conference:

Reporter #1: Reggie, just how much was the Demot flu bug a factor in today's game?

Reggie Hassok: Too be honset, a lot. They only had 12 able bodies, and by able, I mean they weren't vomiting all over themselves and the pitch. But since they did have enough available players, the match had to go on.

Reporter #2: A two-parter here. In your opinion, who performed above their ability during the match and who was ineffective out there?

Reggie: Well I was surprised at the play of Ingrid Hass as you know she was a last minute addition to the squad sent here by the QFC. Since this is an experience building tourney, for the most part, I started her in place of Yossel Griffin, who still is nursing that injured hamstring, and she performed well. On the other side of the coin, The play of our forwards was a bit sloppy in our execution, as we easily let 2 or 3 more scoring opportunities slip by.

Reporter #3: Demot, by most accounts, was the toughest team that the Black Oxen would face in the Group Stages, with this convincing win, do you think that Qazox can finally go deep into a tourney like this?

Reggie: Well....

As the press conference droned on, RAVEN stood watch, and smiled at the mention of Starling's cover name, but made note to get a message to her that under no circumstances was she to talk to the media. Granted her picture would be taken, but since no one but RAVEN knew what she really looked like, he dissmissed the thought that her cover would be blown, until a question from a reporter caught his attention...

Reporter #6: Coach HAssok, is it true that there is an undercover agent either on your squad or working for the team? And are they there to protect the team from an attack from the Golden Dusk?

(RAVEN into his Blue-tooth receiver: FLOCK CODE 6, repeat we have a Code 6 leak, radio silence will be maintained until my further orders. Repeat Radio Silence until my order. DO NOT RESPOND!)

Reggie: Um.. I have no idea of what you are talking about. We are aware of the current political situation in Qazox, but we are in no way involved with undercover agents or the like, this press conference is over.

(Clamor of reporters asking more questions as Hassok walks out of the room)

RAVEN followed Hassok back to the hotel, and began formulating a plan to weed out the mole that was in the FLOCK.

Spaam jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 37th minute, but a goal by Emil Timmermann in the 44th tied it up at 1-1 at the half. But shoddy defense cost the Stoners as in the 76th minute Spaam got he game winner. All in all a good game that could have gone either way.

"Yeah, you speath the truth David, still, I would of rather sat out the match and let some of the second eleven get some time than going out there. It just isn't right in a few ways, but it's too late to do anything about it now I guess."

Eels Off to a Fine Start

Despite being without a manager, the Turori Eels started off their Cup of Harmony for World Cup 32 campaign on a positive note recording a 1-0 victory over the over-rated Green Wombat. One of the familiar faces in the squad, Cocoabo #1, produced a clean-sheet effort in the Turori net. It was a brand new face, however, that of substitute Lotuta Kanzai who sealed the victory for the Island Emirate, scoring 10 minutes from time to seperate the two sides.

Kanzai entered the field after an hour of play as Turori decided to switch from a 4-4-2 to a 3-4-3 formation to press for a winner in the final half hour of play. A winner is just what the Eels got from debutant Kanzai, who was introduced in the place of Cocoabo #5 in a defender for forward substitution.

Kanzai was one of a total of 9 players who made their international competition debut on the night for Turori. Defenders Buabou Ren Fei, Juricao Nutaha and Kiako Liamala both started their first international match, while Riiatzor Miikauau was introduced for the first time immediately following the Kanzai goal in the place of starting forward Seu-Riaula Vinaviia. Vinaviia was part of an all-debutant attacking partnership with fellow newcomer and hot prospect Zemloi Amafaira. Attempts to woo the dual nationality phenom Kristofer Kilpter away from the AOCAF regional side were unsuccessful.

Other newcomers on the day were midielders Ceika Mlaka and Nuiaaia Lua Viiala, while Cocoabo's #29 and #25 controlled the other half of midfield. Three matches remain for the Eels in their Bazalonian Region Group C schedule, though they have a bye on Matchday 2.

He also said that he told the team to forget about the match and focus on the remaining two matches against New Propagandia and Tynelia.

The lone ESF goal came from a 80th minute penalty kick after a long and boring match. A reported 55% of the crowd fell asleep and awaken to the boos or cheers in when the penalty was awarded. At only 15 Miquelinho joined St. Elmo's Fire, a remarkable forward who has made over 25 goals in his two years with the Fire. With potential retirements being announced and a need for new blood, Coach Charles DuPont personally asked Miquelinho, now 17 to join the national team. DuPont: "A lot of the players are getting older and expressing their wishes to retire, internationally at least. We also have been recycling a lot of the same players for quite some time now." Similar to Estevez, Miquelinho is well-known for making interesting and remarkable shots into the net.

“Good evening fans of Assegai Developments football, this is Mikaela Eyre reporting live from some Bazalonian stadium, where tonight the Riskbreakers defeated The HURD 3-1, placing Assegai on top of the group table, if only, momentarily.

“Although the scoreless first half isn’t worth mentioning, the second half saw The HURD draw first blood, with a goal by gnome off a sharp free kick in the 50th minute that beat Assegai goalkeeper Edward van de Beauchamp, giving The HURD a 1-0 lead. Assegai midfielder and team captain Ashley Riot tore into his team, demanding better play from them, and five minutes later, Assegai responded.

“Assegai midfielder Agatha Denys dragged the ball past two HURDist players to break on a run toward the goal. She faked a shot twice before dishing off to forward Sidney Losstarot, who slammed the goal past HURDist keeper lynx.

“Assegai piled on the pressure, taking more runs as lynx’s goal, and scored again in the 71st minute, when forward Samantha Neesa took a pass from Riot and scrambled past three defenders before slotting the shot past lynx, giving Assegai the lead for good.

“Assegai finished off The HURD with another goal in the 85th minute, when substitute forward Stephen de Cobham knocked in a header off a corner kick taken by Riot.

“All in all, it was a solid effort by the Riskbreakers, who now have to deal with the tougher teams in their group.

“For now, this is all. This is Mikaela Eyre signing off. Have a great night!”

Turori Raises Red Flag on Miquelinho

The Football Association of Turori have launched a formal inquiry on the status of up and coming Sel Appan midfielder Miquelinho. The '17' year old midfielder is reportedly to be called upon by the Sel Appan Football Association and coach Charles DuPont to compete for the National Team.

Reporters in Turori, however, seem to have uncovered evidence that would insinuate that Miquelinho, originally born Miquelo de Assis Moreira in a tiny Sel Appan town, is actually 26 years old and not 17 as the Sel Appan Football Association are ready to claim.

While such an age discrepancy would not disqualify the player for inclusion in the National Team, it would nix any attempts to enter the player into age-reliant competitions in the future, and an investigation into the matter could force Miquelinho to sit out the duration of the Cup Of Harmony if it becomes apparent that his papers have been forged to reduce his age from its actual state.

Calls to the Sel Appan Football Association were not returned at time of publication.

Meanwhile, The Eels were in top form against Assegai Developments, with reports coming in from Bazalonia that The Eels ran riot on their up and coming opponents, netting 4 times unanswered to solidify their place atop the group. However, all of Turori's reporters were busy uncovering the Miquelinho scandal, and Turorians will have to wait for the coverage of the match from Assegai media who were the only ones present at the low-interest encounter.

Head Coach Reggie Hassok's Post-match Press Conference:

Reggie Hassok: Before your questions, all i want to say is revenge tastes so sweet!! As most of you know, I was the keeper in that infamous match against Bostopia 16 years ago and with today's win, maybe I'll sleep a bit better tonight. Umm. You there in the red hat.

Reporter in the Red Hat: Coach, the Black Oxen have won twice at the CoH for the first time in ages, with the next two games against possibly inferior talent, is there a chance this team could run the table and then win the CoH?

Hassok: I'm not worring about what could be, I'm preparing us for The Great Monty Python, and I'll worry about anything else when it's time for it. Next quest, you there in the green shirt, no the other guy.

Other Reporter in the Green Shirt: Coach, is it true that you have been contacted by some other nations to head up their squads, and if so, which countries?

Hassok: Until I'm fired , I die or I retire, I'm staying the head Coach of the Black Oxen. I have not been in contact with any other nations to become thier head coach. One more, you in the black sunglasses in the back.

Reporter with black Sunglasses: Um... i don't have a question for you. but since you asked... um Who do you think is going to win Super Bowl XLI?

Hassok: What the hell is a Super Bowl? That's all folks. (ooc: sorry bitter PATS Fan talking there.... [payton manning :sniper: ])

Assegai Sports Network reporter Mikaela Eyre stands with forward Sidney Losstarot, whose head is hung low and whose face is partially covered by his long platinum strands of hair.

“Good evening fans, this is Mikaela Eyre reporting live from some Bazalonian stadium, where tonight, the Assegai Developments National Team suffered the indignity of a humiliating 0-4 loss to the squad from Turori. In addition to the loss, Assegai midfielder and team captain Ashley Riot was injured in a collision with a Turori midfielder, which left him unconscious and had to be carted off the field in the 50th minute. Then, 30 minutes into the second half, Assegai keeper Edward van de Beauchamp pulled a groin muscle and also had to leave.

“Notwithstanding the injuries, in all fairness to the Riskbreakers, the final score does not reflect the actual events on the field, which was a back-and-forth battle between two teams hungry for a win. Alas, Turori converted on their few opportunities, while Assegai was turned away despite building numerous attacks of their own.

“Turori keeper Cocoaba #1 was helped by a stubborn defense that punished the Assegai players with every run they made into the goal area, with fierce, hard tackles that were borderline fouls, but still clean.”

She turns to Losstarot, who sighs a bit.

“Sidney, this is the toughest loss Assegai has suffered in a very long time, and you lost team captain Riot and van de Beauchamp. How’s the team dealing with this latest loss and what’s the status of those guys?” she asks him.

“Well, Ashley suffered a minor concussion and recovered consciousness in the dressing room,” says Sidney, tightlipped. “Besides a few stitches on his noggin and a serious headache, he should be fine, but will miss our next game. Edward, on the other hand, has a groin injury. You can never tell with those, and it looks like he will miss the rest of our first round games.” Sidney shakes his head.

“The collision between Riot and Turori midfielder Ceika Mlaka was pretty vicious, but has the team ruled out dirty tactics?” she asks.

“Mos def,” Sidney responds. “Turori was very physical with us tonight, but that collision was just two guys fighting hard for a loose ball and one of them got the short end of the stick. By the way, you asked how the team is taking this loss… Well, we’re a very passionate team. We don’t take losing that well, especially when we get absolutely pasted despite all our preparation and professionalism.

“Much props to Turori, but us defeating Ariddia was no fluke…and…well, we feel we can play hard with anyone, and a loss like this just totally deflates us. It’s like, during the NationStates World Cup qualifiers we took a decent step forward, and thus far in the Cup of Harmony, we’ve taken two huge steps back. More than anything, we’re disappointed with our performance and we apologize to all our fans and supporters. They deserve better from us,” he says in a somber tone.

Mikaela turns back to the camera.

“Well, for posterity’s sake, let’s recap the goals,” she says. “Turori opened scoring in the 13th minute with a goal by forward Zemloi Amafaira that beat van de Beauchamp high and toward a corner of the net. Ceika Mlaka added to this in the 40th minute, knocking in a carom after van de Beauchamp had stopped his initial shot. Amafaira scored again in the 60th minute with a curving shot that beat van de Beauchamp on a free kick just outside the goal area. Then, midfielder Muiaaia Lua Viiala finished off Assegai and van de Beauchamp with a goal in the 75th minute that caught the Assegai keeper on his heels. Van de Beauchamp attempted a save with a diving split to his left but couldn’t stop the ball and curled up into a ball, having strained his groin muscle.

“He was replaced by backup keeper and Assegai veteran Callo Merlose, who kept Turori from adding to the already embarrassing score. With van de Beauchamp out indefinitely, it seems that Merlose will resume her duties as Assegai’s starting keeper, a position she had held up until the end of the last Cup of Harmony.”

She turns to Sidney again. “With Riot out for the next game, against Green Wombat, who will take his place and captaincy?” she asks him.

“I will actually drop back to the midfield and take Ashley’s spot will assume captaincy of our squad,” he responds glumly. “Stephen de Cobham, one or our up-and-coming stars, will replace me at center forward.”

“Any more thoughts about tonight’s game or the upcoming match with Green Wombat?” she asks.

“Losing Ashley and Edward are two bitter pills to swallow, but we’re a very well-rounded squad and we have faith in Callo and Stephen. Right now we may be snake bitten, but that doesn’t reflect the desire of this team to win and show the NationStates footballing community that we are on a mission to become a footballing superpower,” he says with renewed vigor and a bit of defiance in his voice. “In fact, losses like this one are just potholes on the road to a NationStates World Cup championship and we’re not going to stop now or any time soon or later. To our fans, remember our motto, ‘Assegai rising!’”

Mikaela nods and turns to the camera. “Reporting live, this is Mikaela Eyre signing off and bidding you a good night. Sleep well, Assegai, your team is in good hands.”

From Brian Barns' Myspace site

Hey everyone we're into the next round. Won today 1-zip on a late goal by the Old Man. I thought this one was gonna be a draw for sure, no one was doing much of anything out there most of the match. At least Coach has forgiven me about the whole sunflower seed thing from last match. I think he actually looked at me a couple of times during the match. Still doesn;t look like he'd send me in. Was a close match so i guess he didn;t want to mess with the bench.

Weather conditions were tough today, very windy and a bit cool to me. Of course i'm from the coastal end of Tynelia so temps don't drop quite so much. At least i got to keep my jacket on being on the bench. Crowd was kinda quiet again. A lot of people don't like defensive matches i guess.

But hey this win clinches us a sport in the round of 16. I know most people figured we'd be there anyway but its nice to get it over with. Maybe i should buy Coach some sunflower seeds before the next match. We're just playing for seeding now i think so maybe he'll let me in a game now.

Now i want to thank everyone who's been sending me e-mails about my last update. Didn't think i had so many fans, esepcially in the ESF. Thanks for reading guys and here's a few questions people sent in, my answers are in italics.

Q- Hey how come you didn;t name the ESF scorers, that's being a homer.

A- Well to be honest, Coach usually tells us 'Cover number 7' or something like that so i don't really pay attention to the other teams' names. If people wat to know alll that stuff they can visit the TSF website or just pickup one of the local papers, they have all that stuff listed there. i'm no sportswriter after all.

Q- Connor and Bill? Why don't you use last names?

A- Hey these guys are my teammates and i always call them that. Like i said this isn't a newspaper and if you've followed Tynelian soccer last names aren't needed. I guess the foreign press might need them but hey, this is Myspace not the official TSF site ya know.

Q- You suck, why are you even on the team?

A- Thanks for your kind words but really, just because i haven;t played much isn;t because i'm a bum. These are the best players in the country here so someone has to sit. Plus being emergency keeper i think Coach doesn't want to risk losing two keepers on the same play. Unlikely i know but anything can happen out on the field.

Q- You guys are kickin' ass. We're going to win it all baby!

A- Well 2-0-0 isn;t going all the way and we're not even the top team in the Cup. You got Spaam and Qazox off the top of my head that are ranked ahead of us. But we're playing pretty good so hopefully you're right.

K that's all the time i have, gotta go butter up coach for some playing time next match.

the channels, inwhich news were transmitted were full of activity and rumour. would lynx, the hurdist goalkeeper be updated in time for the match, did the update exist at all? one server was slashdotted since it was supposed to have additional information. of course, the oponents would be able to find out about the tactics if they would listen to hurdist podcasts, join their irc or silc chats and find the few actually relating to soccer and the world cup. the decentral architecture of all hurdist communication however makes that rather impossible.

The match against yafor 2 was overshadowed by horrible adventure references. for the hurdist, y2 was of course a reference to the one and only adventure, and so the fans behaved generally weird. the chants normally are already crazy, but 'plugh, plover, fee fie foe foo!' was a new dimension of weird. the robots of course did not care, lynx had an update or maybe the old code just behaved. everyone's favorite robotic goalkeeper saved all shots at the hurdists goal. the attack however was acting rather buggy and could not capitalize the few chances they had. the match ended 0:0.

Turori Lodges Official Protest against Sel Appan FA

The Football Association of Turori have launched an official protest against the Football Association of Sel Appa after the budding nation made an official statement regarding the age of future international midfielder Miquelinho. Turorian Football Association representative Mauritus Banda had this to say about the protest:

"It would have been one thing if they just raised their hands in the air, apologized and went on with it. But they haven't. Not only have they gone on record with a falsified document stating that this player is 17, which our legal team has very good evidence that he is in fact not, but they even went so far as to falsifying a birth certificate changing the players name from Miquelo de Assis Moreira to Miquelo Tartarugo in an effort to further mask the players identity.

It is a shame that a football association would go through so much trouble, and, in the process, break not only legal law, but far more worryingly, the bonds of trust and fair play that exist between all sporting nations. One can only hope that the Sel Appan Football Association takes action upon themselves before the World Governing Body gets involved. I have a feeling that if the Governing Body got involved, we won't be seeing Sel Appan's at any international competitions for a good long while to come. Buy hey, It's no sweat off my back. If they want to get themselves banned from competitive action because they wouldn't fess up to doctoring the age on one players birth certificate, that's their own thing. Personally, I'm much more humble than that. If I've screwed up, I'll admit it and take the blame myself, not drag my entire country down with me."

23-01-2007, 01:31
Miquelinho has publicly stated that he is 17, but does appear older and was once refused the child price admission at TurtleLand, a fun-filled theme park just outside Nemnenait, even though his family produced a legitimate birth certificate. FFSA president Henri LePoivre called the allegations "ridiculous" and demanded proof from Turori. He also said Sel Appa only participates in general tournaments. Futhermore, he said "We will not be intimidated by more veteran teams that are intimidated by our great progress in just three World Cups." Turori is also reminded that there is no "Football Association of Sel Appa" or any "Sel Appan Football Association". The governing body of Sel Appan football is called the Football Federation of Sel Appa. This error further debases Turori's libellous allegations. The FFSA has issued another said it will boycott any future match with Turori.

Demot Daily ~ Into The Ocean

Not quite the start the Dynamo of our lovely Demot were looking to have, but with two games and the bye out of the way, with one point to their name, the squad is revamping their effort and looking to end the group stage on a tear. They should win their last few matches, against Bostopia and The Great Monty Python, leaving the squad with a moderate seven points in the group. Seeing as how every squad but the cellar will proceed past the group, this should be quite enough for the Dynamo to take their offensive game into the second round.

It is then considered quite ironic that the profilic Dynamo offensive is what has been hampering the squad's efforts thus far. They average 2.14 goals per game during qualification, but have yet to find the back of the net in this Cup of Harmony. This has frustrated manager Charles Dogood to no end. Known for his drive in offensive minded football, the lack of scoring has began to wear on the great man, and it is rumored that he might be reitiring should the squad continue to flounder. This would be seen as a great loss fo the Demot FA, as Dogood was the one who lead the squad to their first ever Proper in only their second entrance into the World Cup scene.

Samantha Black has been public in her support for Dogood, with him being the man who orginally brought her into the footballing world, signing her as a reserve squad member for Skyhaven FC back when she was barely 17. The striker has blossomed since been given that oppurtunity by Charles, and is now going out there and supporting her mentor.

"Coach Dogood has done wonders for this organization and squad. It would be a shame if he were to leave us after this tournament. His philisophies and strategies are great, it's us player who are faltering. We're not exucuting them like we should out on the pitch, and that is why we are in the dangerous situation we are in now. However, we still have two matches to go out there and put on a good display for him and the nation. If we do that, then I imagine the good general will stick around for another tour of duty in the World Cup, which we would gladly accept."

For now, the squad looks to leap frog the squad from Bostopia as they take on each other tommorow in Qutar. The Bostopians are sitting just one spot ahead of the Dynamo in the table with three points to our four, and a win would let us jump ahead. However, the Dynamo should not overlook their foes, as the Bostopia squad thrashed the Monty Python squad a resounding five to nil. It will be imperative that the offence start to click if the squad wants to rebound.

Dear Diary

I'm getting excited now. It's just a mere few weeks before I start my career in football, and set out on my journey in life. I know that the trials ahead are going to be difficult, but so what. It is those trails and tribulations that make us stronger as a person, that better us even if we are not aware of it. Without problems in the world, what would motivate the great minds to create the great wonders of the world, what would inspire poets and musicians, what purpose would there be in acheiving goals? Thus I must prepare myself for these challanges and have my will and detirmination lead me to overcome and learn from them.

The same must be said for my mother and father, and all who play for the ESF national team. They have had to overcome many adversities to get to where they are now. I think the best example of this is Gabriel Florez. She was a nobody who was barely making it through before she tried out for the then Green League squad of the Hondo Owls, and made their team. She helped lead them to their first title, that had them promoted to the Star League. They have since won the inagural Silver Cup, and are looking like favorite to win the league, and be promoted to the EPL (Elven Premier League). With that success, she was then transfered over to the major squad of the Char Sara Inferno, and was part of their success at giving up the least amount of goals last season. Seeing the potential and thriving energy the lady put out, she was given a chance on the Marauders squad, and has proven her worth and then some. You must wonder if she would of had that will power had she not had to struggle early in her life.

For now though, I am happy to merely continue on training with the Gunners, and watching my parents and friends perform on the grand stage. They were able to shut down the cocky Sel Appa squad, and will be looking to coast to a second place finish in these last two matches, starting tommorow against the JSY federation of Commerce Heights. A huge win here not only gurantees the knockouts, but will also help the Marauders with the goal differential problem. And I shall sign off with the motto of the squad,

"For Pride, For Fame, For Glory, For the Game
ESF ALL THE WAY"

RAVEN Stood in the back of the room, watching another boring press conference about the Black Oxen, who defeated The Great Monty Python 4-2, to clinch not only a spot int he 2nd round, but the Group B title as well. He stood using his shrouding ability to prevent himself from being watched, but every couple of minutes, he saw a man across the room staring right at him. RAVEN took a quick look behind him to see if there was something else that could be gathering the man's attention, but saw nothing but a plain wall.

'That's a bit wierd, only Level 1 telepaths or shrouders should be able to see me like this.' RAVEN thought as he used his comlink to take a picture and run it through the computer. After staring right back at the man who was seemingly watching him, his comlink beeped and he pulled up the information on his mystery man.

NAME: JOHN WERTH
CODE NAME: BLACKHAWK
CURRENT STATUS: PRESUMED DECEASED
KNOWN ABILITIES: LEVEL 1 TELEPATH, LEVEL ALPHA TELEKENETIC

'Shit... but how is he alive' RAVEN thought as he began to move towards BLACKHAWK, but when he got within 10 feet of him, he couldn't move.

"Well if it isn't RAVEN or should I call you by your real name? No, I'll stick with RAVEN, for oldtimes' sake BLACKHAWK thought into RAVEN's mind.

"I'd prefer that we'd talk in voice, somewhere other than here, If you don't mind" RAVEN muttered under his breath.

"Well, fine, I bet that you have a lot of questions to ask of me, don't you, ol' RAVEN?" BLACKHAWK answered.

After the press conference finally ended, RAVEN and BLACKHAWK followed Reggie Hassok back to his hotel, once again oblivious to either's presence.

Mikaela Eyre has a goofy smile on her face. As the camera pans back a bit, a naked Samantha Neesa streaks past Mikaela, who busts out laughing.

“What are you doing, Samantha?” she yells at her, laughing. “You’re going to get us in trouble again.”

Samantha sneaks up behind Mikaela and wraps her arms around her, using her as cover.

“Well, I lost a bet with Kiso Night of E.S.F.” she says giggling. “If I didn’t score tonight, which I didn’t, I had to strip naked and show my goods on camera…live to the world!”

Mikaela’s eyes grow wide. “Oh no, you don’t! Not now, you don’t!”

Samantha squeals and scampers away rapidly, but too quickly for the camera to get a good look at her.

Suddenly, the camera shakes and Samantha’s face fills the screen.

“This is for you, Kiso!” she screams, dropping the camera down to below her neck.

Suddenly the lights go out and it’s complete darkness in the Assegai locker room.

“What happened?” someone yells out.

“Awwww, man… there was a power surge in the area,” responds another voice. “I think everyone turned their TVs on and the sudden power surge knocked out the local power plant.”

“Darn!” yells Samantha. “Oh, well…If we reach the second round…it’s on, baby!”

Mikaela sighs in the dark. “This is Mikaela Eyre signing off… ah… I didn’t even sign on… Oh, what the hell… Assegai lost to Green Wombat, who NEVER submitted a team roster or has reported ANYTHING on their squad… blah blah blah… Stephen de Cobham scored both our goals in the 2-3 loss… blah blah blah. Callo did a decent job at keeper but got burned by three well-placed goals… blah blah blah… Despite the three losses Assegai can still qualify… blah … blah … blah. Good night, Assegai!”

Hey everyone, we won again today 2-1. Close game though back and forth the whole way. Bill got both our goals including the game winner right before the half. Connor was ticked afterwards though. That leaves us a pefect 3-0-0 with one match to go. But i can't wait any longer to tell everyone the best news of all. I'm going to be starting next match!

Yup Coach said since we can;t finish any worse than second in the group that's he's emptying the bench for our final match to give the regulars some rest before the knockouts. Connor wasn't happy about that, i think he's still begging coach to let him play because Bill's up two goals on him. Not sure if coach is gonna give. Anyway i can;t wait for my first real playing time in ages. Sure i played most of the second half in the Seckland match in the WC after the Cuation final was announced but this is a start. I can't wait to get out there!

People watching at home have no idea what its like being in the center of thousands of screaming fans all the noise being focused on the field where you are. That's how mistakes get made sometimes. Crowd's so noisy that you don;t hear your teammate yelling about the guy coming up behind you and the play gets broken up.

I hope the weather gets better though, today was a rainy day and the field was slippery- people were falling all over the place and by the end of the mtach mud was everywhere. Gives the groundskeepers something to do though. Most importantly no one got hurt out there. Those conditions its easy to lose your footing and pull something or even worse have one foot planted and the other goes out, i've seen lots of people taken out with pulled groins that way.

Ok time to dip into the mailbag, keep those comments coming, gives me and the team a piece of Tynelia to take with us while we're on the road. My comments are in italics again.

Q- Who's better Connor MacDougal or Bill Jakes?
A- Well both of them have scored on me in league play but i think Bill only got one on me and Connor got two so i'll take Connor because of that. Seriously though, they're both great players and on any day either one could be best. OK guys you can stop dangling me outside the window now.

Q- Who's going to be the new Coach when Coach Billington retires.
A- Well that's something that people way above me have to figure out. I'm just a player but Coach B has been a great coach, i hope he gives it one more shot at getting in the WC. He deserves to be there.

Q- Tynelia sucks! Oxen gonna poo on you!
A- A Qazox fan i take it. Well we'll settle that one on the field not on Myspace.

K that's it for now, gotta get ready for my big start tomorrow.

Final Round 1 Match

As Sel Appa goes into the final match of round 1 against Tynelia, most sources indicate that Sel Appa has already qualified for the Round of 16, which will be a knockout round. Sel Appa will play a team from Group C, of which Turori, Green wombat, and Yafor 2 appear to have qualified. Of them, Sel Appa played Green wombat in World Cup 31. The Turtles lost both times 0-2 and 2-3. If Sel Appa is paired with Turori, it is unknown what will occur because the FFSA has said it Sel Appa will not play Turori. Should this go through, Turori is likely to receive a bye to the next round.

The final match against Tynelia will be interesting. The only other two meetings with them were in World Cup 31, a 0-1 loss and a 1-1 draw. Most sources point at a 1-1 or a 0-0 draw. The outcome will only affect the KPB ranking as Sel Appa has been said to have already qualified for the Round of 16.

Current Group Standings:

Qazox continued its brilliant play at the Cup of Harmony winning their 4th match 5-0 over a Ropa-Topia team, that looked at times on the pitch disoriented. Goals were scored by Stefany Heisel, her 4th, in the 20th minute to open the scoring; Sonja Clay twice, once in the 34th and the second in the 56th minute, giving her 4 as well. With a 3-0 lead at that point, Head Coachg Reggie Hassok subbed in Wendy Richie, a bit surprisngly, and Wendy scored twice as well, in the 73rd and 81st minutes to finish off Ropa-Topia.

Qazox finished 4-0-0 with an amazing 17 goals scored, more than twice as any other team scored. and allowed only 3 goals, and only 4 teams gave up fewer than that. A +14 goal differential, with the next closest being Turori at only +5. Is this a team that will win the CoH? So far it looks like it.

Our 2nd round match is against The Mice of Miceland, who at times this CoH looked good, but the way the Black Oxen are playing, the mice are going to be trampled.

Listed below are the other 2nd round fixtures and our predictions:

The Islands of Qutar Region:

Spaam vs. Bostopia (SPAAM 3-1)
Snub Nose 39 vs. Ropa-Topia (SN39 2-1) Extra Time

Demot vs. Sativaville (DEMOT 1-0)

Bazalonian Region:

Turori vs. New Propogandia (TURORI 2-0)
Green Wombat vs. Sel Appa (GREEN WOMBAT 2-1) Penalties

Elves Security Forces vs. Yafor 2 (ESF 1-0)
Tynelia vs. Assegai Developments (TYNELIA 3-1)

Hey everyone what a great day this was today. Not only did we win 1- zip to become one of only two teams with a perfect record- those damn Oxen were the other one, but i played the whole match. It was great out there on the field. Crowd was into the match even though it didn;t really matter much to either side except for posistioning in the group. Course it would have been better if i was in front of the tynelian faithful but hey, playing time is playing time.

Duncan got the goal today for us, which i bet has his brother Connor mad again since now both MacDoguals have a goal each now. Big brothers don;t like their younger brothers keeping pace with them. So between this and Bill leading in total goals i think Connor is going to take shots at the net every chance he can to catch up again.

I had a pretty good day out there. I did get beat on a great move by #5 but Sean made a nice save on the play. Big day for the MacDougal clans, even Connor was happy to see his 'wee babe' of a brother get the shutout. Thought Coach was going to yank me after that but he kept me in. I made up for it some in the second half when i just got a piece of a pass on a 3 on 2 break that let Jacob get back to make a play. None of the other plays really stood out was a solid defensive effort on both sides with lots of time spent in the middle of the field.

Now i guess its back to the bench for the knockouts. We're up against AD first, they had trouble in the group getting 1 win in their four matches. we never played them before i don't think but i do know they have heavy press coverage to their matches. Hope the stadium can hold them all. According to the schedule we'll be having a rematch with somebody next- either the ESF or Yafor 2 who was in with us in the WC. But AD first.

Gotta hit the showers now so no time for the mailbag today. i'll catch up next time. cya

"I'm New Propaganda 1 News Anchorman George Eddit, with a news news report of New Propagandian football."

"People have been going insane over football in New Propagandia though due to suspected foul play the domestic league has been suspended and it's team has yet to win a game in the Cup of Harmony. But still, bars fill with spectators, the amount of people who don't love the sport can be counted on one hand and people try to get groceries before the new rush hour, the hour before the game when most fans rush out to the pubs or designated jumbo-screens to soak in the atmosphere."

Pictures are shown of what Eddit's talking about as he spoke. When he finished it went back to the studio. He turned to a Man who was currently eating a pasty.

"So tell me, Analysis Expert Frederick Cogne, is this a new epidemic, Football Fever?" George asked.

"... No." Said Cogne before taking another mouthful of Meat & Potato pasty.

"Grr.. Frederick all you ever do is come in here, eat and answer vaguely." Eddit said clenching his fist in anger, his left temple visibly throbbing. "You're not worth the 500 Saturnnalia!"

Then Eddit let out an angry sigh.

"Just... Just turn the camera off!"

[Avery] And it's all over here, Demot have beaten The Great Monty Python three - nil! Bostopia are through to the round of 16! This is the first time they have EVER, EVER progressed to the knockout stages of a global tournament! (Avery's commentary begins to fade out) This is history! Absolutely amazing!

The theme tune to BSN1's Football Bostopia starts up, with a loud opening trumpet burst, then falling into a catchy tv theme.

[Lyle] Hello I'm Brian Lyle, and welcome to the Millenium Stadium, in Highfield, Qutar! Yes, Bostopia have made it to the last 16, being drawn against Group A winners, Spaam. This is more than likely to be a tough game, as Spaam are ranked 32nd in the World, and Bostopia down in 79th.

However, that's not putting the team off, and we can now go down to Kevin Olling, who's with national side Manager, Adam Collick

[Olling] Adam, a tough game tonight, how've you set out the team to counter a strong side?
[Collick] Well, we're going to be looking at a defensive formation, a 4 - 1 - 3 - 2, we're hoping that Gary Maff in the defensive midfield role can provide some cover there when Spaam come forward through the midfield.
[Olling] Gary's only young though, do you think he can cope?
[Collick] Well, Spaam's a very good side, but I think he'll cope and gain valuable experience at the same time.
[Olling] Alright, thanks Adam, back to the studio.

[Lyle] Well, there's still some time yet to kickoff, but the fans are already filling the stadium. Let's take a look back now at some of the highlights from the group stages.

Turtles Lose to Tynelia

The Turtles lost to Tynelia, but still qualify for the Round of 16, a knockout round where they will meet Green wombat for an all-or-nothing match. This is Sel Appa's first time past the Group Stage of any tournament and Coach Charles DuPont experessed enthusiasm: "We finally did it." Critics say that there was at least an 80% chance of qualifying and claims of victory were fallacious. They also point out that Sel Appa only managed 1-1-2 in group.

The previous two meetings with Green wombat in the 31st World Cup Qualifiers resulted in two defeats for Sel Appa: 0-2 and 2-3. Prospects appear better this time. Predictions vary with a few giving Green Wombat the match on penalty kicks. Since this is the first match for Sel Appa where a draw is not permissible, there is much speculation into who will make up the penalty kick lineup. Here are our picks:
Estevez-Widely known as Sel Appa's best player, Estevez almost always takes Sel Appa's penalties. He has an almost perfect record of them domestically and internationally.
Alex Nart or Pho Nguyen-Both are quite adept players. Alex Nart is the more likely pick, but Pho has shown to be an accurate goal-scorer.
Colin Patette-Another one of Sel Appa's best attackers, Patette is known for scoring many a goal and has shown reliability during his short tenure as captain in the end of the qualifiers for World Cup 32.
Arthur Mercator-A great footballer who has talent running through his blood for the fourth straight generation. Mercator is definitely a good choice. He also has been working on his curve.
Alan Dubrov or Vasily Kashchenko-Both are excellent choices. Dubrov is a fairly good striker and Kashchenko is the usual penalty kicker for his domestic team FC Anila.

Turori Look Ahead to Sel Appa Draw

The Turorian FA are already looking beyond the Round of 16's looking for a potential matchup against Sel Appa. The Sel Appan Football FEDERATION seems to be set to withdraw from the competition should they be drawn against Turori.

Turorian players, coaches and fans alike are looking ahead to this possibility, getting a day off to possibly rest before a crucial Semi-Final match should they advanced from the Round of 16 to face Sel Appa in the Quarter Finals.

The controversy surrounding accusations of age alteration by the Sel-Appan FA over rising player Miquelinho (note the omission of the word 'young') seems to have taken front seat despite the upcoming match between the Turori Eels and the part-timers New Propogandia.

However, the Qazox media through QSPN.com have not overlooked the match, and have predicted Turori to advance 2-0 over the Propogandians. However, QSPN does not believe Sel Appa will be able to overcome their Round of 16 opposition Green Wombat, predicting the wombats to prevail on penalty kicks over the controversial document forging team.

RP from ESF

Dear Diary

So it is that tomorrow my career as a professional shall truly begin. Tomorrow, the Gunners will being their pre-season run through the lower divisions, our first opponent being the Everlin Snipers of the Green League. Asanta Webber, our manager, has already told be that I will be playing the full ninety minutes for the squad, as we begin to see who can play well together amongst the new signings. I’m looking forward to being on the pitch with the likes of Renai Adai and Ikles Razov, as well as Liliam Kries from the national team, and reigning foreigner of the year, keeper Akihiko Yoshida of Assegai. Being on the field with such stars is indeed a mighty honor.

Speaking of the national team, they drew in their last game against some nobody, using the third string players on the depth chart. However, the main squad has been practicing hard in preparing for the knockouts, which they achieved in their third match, and learned today that it will be Yafor 2. From what I know about this nation, is that it used to be a decent power in the Cup, but has recently fallen on the snide. I can only hope that the former winners of the Cup of Harmony don’t find their form here when it matters most, for the future of our football could hinge on the success in this showing.

This goes out to Samantha Neesa of Assegai, you lost the bet, you must live up to it! My friend Rob King has set it up so that there will be no more outages in your area. If you live up to your end, Ill live up to mine.

RAVEN wiped off his knife and looked down at the body of BLACKHAWK.

"I wish it didn't have to come to that, but you left me no choice. Thanks for the info on the traitor, but the fewer people that know, the better," he said while carrying the body to a local river.

After the necessary business, RAVEN tried checking in with the director, and only found static on the comm system.

"Shit, it maybe too late," he thought as he ran towards the Hotel, where Hassok's press conference after the 3-1 win over the Mice, was scheduled to begin.

Seconds before the conference, a panting RAVEN took up his usual spot in the back of the room, but was surprised that no press conference was taking place. He unshrouded and asked a reporter near-by if he was early. To his dismay, he found out the press conference had just concluded before he got there.

"Do you have a copy of the press conference?" RAVEN asked, fearing the worst. The reporter handed over his recorder and RAVEN watched in abject horror as Hassok's press conference was turned into a Golden Dusk propaganda speech.

Visibly shaken, RAVEN staggered out of the room and headed towards Hassok's room, knowing full well, the Black Oxen were going to need a new head coach.

Hey everyone we're in the quarters again. Big win today 4-zip over AD. In fact Coach even got me some playing time in the second half when we got up 3-zip early in the second half. Connor was ticked today, got a pair of goals but Bill got one so he still has the lead. Mia knocked in our last one so we're in the quarters again. Playing against those Elves again. I think this match is going to be more intense than the first meeting. That time everyone pretty much knew we would be qualifying on both sides so the intensity wasn;t really what it could have been. But this is the knockouts so things are gonna be different.

Heard a bunch of so-called experts on the radio saying 'yeah Tynelia is in the quarters for the third straight CoH but that's where they always get knocked out.'. Well i say we've never been undefeated going into this round either. The team is playing great right now. You could see the regulars were fresh after their match off and they got more rest in the second half. I think this is probably the best team we've ever had so i'm feeling pretty good about the rematch.

Not that i'll be seeing any of it anywhere else but on the bench i bet. Would be kinda funny if Qazox and the Wombats both won too, that would mean 3 of the 4 semifinalists would have all entered competition at the same time way back when i was a little kid in WC27 or so.

OK mailbag time. you know the routine by now.

Q- Oxen rules! Tynelia drools!
A- I see our Qazox reader is back again. Worry about your half of the draw and we'll worry about ours.

Q- Why do Bill and Connor hate each other so much?
A- i wouldn;t say they hate each other. Just that they both want to be the main scorer. The Old Man told me he used to have the same trouble with Connor's uncle Alan but was quick to point out that Alan always ended up second.

Q- You're in the quarters now, what are you going to do to actually get past it for a change?
A- ok this one came right before i started writing but it was a good question so i'm including it here. Well to start with our defense is playing great and our offense is solid enough to get the goals we need. Playing a defensive style we don't usually need a lot of scoring to get by. Plus the team is pretty mad about just missing the WC the last two tries. We want to make a statement for the next one. If we can sweep the table here that will be a big headsup for ourselves and the rest of the world. Heck it might even get us some more funding so more young players will be encouraged to stick with the sport.

k that's all for now. cya.

The team, after hearing about the sudden heart attack, and death of Head Coach Reggie Hassok, couldn't gather themselves emotionally enough to face Demot, who avenged their earlier loss 2-0. After the handshake and the players began to walk towards the locker rooms, suddenly a rather dashing looking man appeared out of nowhere in front of them. He pointed at a single player, and the rest headed back to the locker room.

"Why did you do it?" RAVEN asked of the player he held back.

"Do what?" came the terse reply.

"STARLING, I know that it was you who used PROJECT COBALT. Drop the pretenses and answer me." RAVEN demanded, unholstering his weapon.

"RAVEN, I had no choice, sometime during the flight, a Golden Dusk agent used a Level Alpha reprogrammer on my programming." STARLING replied.

"You do know that I have to kill you now correct?" RAVEN told her. "I am truly sorry, daughter, but you know the law. Treason is punishable by death. I am so glad you saved my life when your mother tried to blow up the universe, I was rather shocked that you decided to save me and not Wendy Latias. I know that during the explosion of her lab, you sustained massive injury. The nanotech saved your life, and then the Starling program allowed you not only to walk again, but allowed you to work with me. Over the past 10 years, we've saved the world countless times, and saved each other numerous times. But you know I have to do this, or else." As RAVEN hugged his daughter, Ingrid Hass, he injected her with a serum that would simulate a heart attack.

With tears in his eyes, he watched as the poison worked its way thru her system, still hugging her close, as she began to twitch and spasm; he hugged tighter, until her last breath. "I love you, Dad" she spoke with her dying breath, lying in his arms.

"I love you too, Ingrid, I love you too." RAVEN said as he took his daughter's lifeless body into his arms, shrouded, and walked away.

(ooc: Too bad I lost, I did have another couple of RP's set, one of which would have revealed RAVEN's real name.. but its too late now.)

Floyd is Going Down... Down. Down. Down.

Damn straight. Floyd is going down. The Turori Eels have been drawn against the ELves Security FOrces D or LYFOD which, if you mess with the middle letters a bit, take the middle letter and move it to the front, FLYOD. Then Take the new middle letter and swap it with the next letter, FLOYD and there you go.

So, Floyd is going down. Unfortunately, we never got to play those cheating bastards from the Record-Altering nation of Sel Appa. They would have given us a walkover if we played them. But whatever, we played Green Wombat and that was as close to a walkover was you're going to get without actually getting one. All the lads went on vacation for the day and we had 8 players show up. It was a fine day for Cocoabo #29 who scored a pair of goals and we held on to win the match 2-1 despite being 3 players short.

That bodes well for our chances of advancing to the Final, because now we'll have all of our normal players back. And FLOYD (Elves Security Forces) have been pretty pitiful. Their game against Tynelia went to extra time, and the only reason FLOYD even advanced is because the Tynelian's couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 5 feet if their life depended on it. It was pretty abysmal infact, as FLOYD booked their ticket 3-0 in a penalty shootout, but hell, the way Tynelia was shooting FLOYD could have knocked in the first one then just said the hell with it, let Tynelia shoot 5 times so we can get out of here quicker.

Stranger things have happened, however, so the managerless Eels will be taking no chances, with the mystery lineup selector sure to field the strongest possible side with a place in the Cup of Harmony Final at stake.

In an unrelated story, The recently active Football Association of Turori Legal Team (The FAT Lawyers) who gained international prominence by uncovering the birthdate fixing scandal in Sel Appa, have called upon Cup of Harmony for World Cup's 29, 30 & 31 Hosts to update the official Cup of Harmony Records in the World Information Keeping Index (WIKI) so the champions of these events can be immortalized through time.

Dear Diary

Glorious has been the last two weeks for me and for the entire country. For me, I got to play, and score in my first match as a professional, against Everlin. It was a nice little friendly tune up for us, with the game ending in a three all draw. I made the breakthrough in the thirtieth minute, and was able to deke the goalie into diving earlier than he should, and calmly slotted it into the net. I scored again in the 50th minute, which leveled terms at two at that point. Finally, I assited on Liliam Kries' goal in the 74th minute to temporarily put us ahead. Overall, it was a great game for me, and really showed the country that I am for real, and not just a kid of superstars.

As for what the country is soo giddy about, the Marauders have pulled off an amazing upset of Tynelia, winning 3-0 in penalty kicks after the teams playing to a 1 all draw in regulation and neither being able to find the winner in the extra time. This comes after another big win against Yafor 2, a close encounter at two to one, where Justinian Constant played hero, netting two goals in the last half hour to equalise, and then the winner. The team was quiet startled by how much trouble they had against the Yaforians, and refused media comment, they even wouldn't talk to me!

Whatever coach Revtron preached to them during the week seemed to pay off, as they came out of the gate and played with the intensity that has never been seen in a Marauder team for years. The last time the team had played with this type of passion was when they were kicking tail in the Assegai Invitationals, winning back to back championships. It was when they team came out in the second half, and their play kept up, that everyone in the stadium knew that they were watching something special. However, it was a twist of fate, and an ankle, that would see Tynelia go up in the 68th minute, Bill Jakes was able to get past Florez as she stepped wrong and went down. She would get up soon however, so the Tynelians kept up the attack, and Jakes slid the ball between St. Louis legs.

Hope seemed lost as the squad was having trouble getting past the backline of Tynelia in those final minutes, nobody able to penetrate the collective tower of stregnth those three defenders are. That's when Revtron pulled Tobias out in favor of the the top scorer of last season's EPL, Kersee Hall. The young lass was quick to put the dagger in the hearts of the Tynelia fans, scoring off a free kick from 31 yards out in the 86th minute.

The extra times went by with little effort put out by the Marauder side in scoring, as they had been praticing their penalities all week and were confident that they would win should it come to that. The Tynelians were not soo willing to let it go to the kicks, espicially with their history in them. They attacked and attacked and attacked as if their were no tommorow for any of them, however St. Louis was a unbeatable rock in net, matching his save amount in those thirty mins that he had the entire regulation, ending the three sessions with a total of twenty two saves. His biggest moments were still to come though.

As the game went into penalities, the fans were on the edge of their seats, deadly nervous about what was about to transpire. Fans of both sides were holding their breathe, for when it comes down to penalities, it is not always the more talented squad to go on. Zacharius stepped up, and easily put it in. Jakes put a hard shot on goal, but there was St. Louis batting it away. Next was my mom, who blew it in off the upright, and the ESF fans began to believe they had a chance to win this thing. MacDougal was obviously feelin the pressure, as his shot flew at least 10 feet to the left of the goal. Cuellar was next for the Marauders, and he was able to sneak it in off of the keeper. Finally it was Greg Samson who went up and tried to put the Tynelians on the board with a low, hard shot to the corner, but St. Louis had guessed right, pounced on the ball, and cradled it until his teammates all came crashing down on top of him.

The team can only celebrate soo long though, for they face another monumental task in Turori. The Eels have had the Marauders numbers this year, drawing them and beating them during the qualifiers. However, Revtron has been spending hours in our basement studying the film, and has showed me part of the game plan. I have to say, that it impresses me quite a bit, and I think the squad might actually have a chance. For now, I need to go finish studying film on MY next oppenent, good night.

Demot Daily ~ Around and Around We Go

HOLY COW!!! Back to back wins, and now the Dynamo are on the verge of being in their first final ever in any sort of competition. First it was the Stoners of Sativaville who tried to slow down the attacking force of the Dynamo, but fell by the wayside two to nothing, with Samantha Black and Sarah Ysman bothing netting goals, Ysman off a breakaway in the twenty third minute when her defender collided with another and crumpled to the ground. Then Black easily put home a penalty when Masteron was taken down in the box, in the 53rd minute, and the Dynamo coasted to a comfortable win afterwards.

Then it was their group mates of Qazox. The Black Oxen has taken out the Dynamo in the group stage, a embarrassing three to nothing defeat. However, it would be the Dynamo who would embarrass their oppenents this time, with Masteron scoring in the first minute. Ysman had given it to black on the opening kick off, and they began the attack. Black dished it off to Unitus, who then put it in front of the striding Masteron. The veteran saw a seem in the defence, and exploited, once on goal, he produced a decent shot that just managed to fly by the keeper.

The Oxen tried to respond, but the sudden death of their manager really seemed to hamper their efforts. Everything just seemed slow and without any purpose, and the Dynamo are not a squad to not capitilize when the oppenent is playing far from their top level, with Unitus taking a pass that was meant for Kyle Horton, and going down the legnth of the pitch, and seemed to put it past Alice Springs with ease. This seemed to break whatever morale the Oxen had, and the Dynamo merely played keep away from them for the remainded of the game.

Next up is Spaam who has been unimpressive in their run up to this point, and the Dynamo are ready to end their run. The squad has been reviewing the tapes of Spaam's former matches, and believe that they have found a few weaknesses to exploit. They are going to need it, but if nothing else, the squad will at least have luck on their side, espicially after this last match.

The Football Federation of Sel Appa believes Turori cheated to win the Cup of Harmony.

This is a common belief of cheating nations to act in shock when someone actually wins something without cheating. The Football Association of Turori officially recognizes the entire nation of Sel Appa as a nation of lies, cheats, and horses.
