In keeping with a yearly tradition, I present a new vampire RP based upon Vampire The Masquerade.

A full year has passed and Zanaar, the vampire prince of Exetergrecia is missing and believed to have suffered final death. This will lead to a confrontation between the Camarilla and the Sabbat, alongside infighting of the Camarilla as vampires stake a claim to the title of the prince.

I'm game, but the character I use for all of these is a bit over 600 years...

Life is all too short. It really is. We see one hundred years of life as a life time, of seeing everything there is to see; knowing all there can be to know. However, to some that lurk in our midsts, one hundred years is no more than a month, a day, a breath. To these individuals, life is nothing more than a dream or a set of memories that we can look back on, to remember the past. To the vampyr, life is an eternity of memories, and nothing more.

Davos Santari was born in the year 975. It was a time of war and strife, the Church ruled through fear, kings through extortion, and some by strength alone. Cantor Santari was what many would call a mercenary, a soldier for hire. He was more than that, more than a grunt for the charge. He was a strategist, a warrior, a hunter, a teacher, and above all, a Spaniard. His blade was feared, his cunning rarely matched, and his talents behind closed doors matched a reputation. Yet even he could not refrain from the most powerful of human desires: love. He was in Germany, fighting one of the many wars for the king, when he met Matilda, a bar maid of descent from Alsace. He stayed with her, letting the war go on. They married, and bore a child, whom Cantor named Davos, in honor of his closest friend.

Davos grew up as would any son of a mercenary. He traveled with his father, learning the tricks of the trade, so to say. Cantor taught Davos how to fight, to track, to hunt and kill, and of course how to romance the fairer sex. Davos grew in conflict, baptized in the blood of war, his body kept nourished by the money and land granted for his father’s great service. He followed in his father’s foot steps, becoming a mercenary of skill.

One could say it’s almost ironic that he found his true calling in death. It was the year 1000, and Davos was the tool of the Church, a warrior for God. He hunted the enemies of Christ, yet, as fear of the world’s end, witches and undead, and the coming of Satan himself gripped humanity, he pushed on, looking for heretics. To him, the paranormal, the enemies of God and man, vampires, witches, and changelings were all figments of the imagination, nothing more than ideas that came to those who felt they needed a reason to be afraid.

His talents were well noticed, and his moves watched by those who live in the night. The idea was simple: when on mission in Constantinople, he would be embraced. The willing sire, a third generation female of wealth and beauty would seduce him, take him back to her quarters, and embrace him. However, the best laid plans of mice and men, as they say, and Davos fought back. As his sire bit into his neck, he pulled away, and fought. He wounded her, although not mortally, and she recovered quickly. It was decided that he was still needed, and so, despite mortal wounding, he was continually sired. He has not one sire, but four, his third generation initial sire, two fourth generations, and a being of great importance-The Prince of Eastern Europe and creator of the Ord Dracul, a second generation whose sire was rumored to be the Lord Dracula himself.

Weeks passed by as Davos turned, embracing the dark. When he was finally revived, he felt hatred for those who turned him, and yet a great deal of thanks. He had never been a special warrior. He was good, yes, but nothing amazing. The new found powers manifesting themselves in him granted him strength and power to do what no human could do. After months of coaxing, he finally accepted his fate to walk the land as kindred, the undead, a vampire.

Davos did well in his chosen occupation, hunting enemies of the clan. There was one enemy in particular he did well against: the lycans. It didn’t matter what they were called, were people, dog soldiers, werewolves, thropes, he hunted them all, and with great success. He honed his skills, his powers, his strengths, and became an institution within itself of the Eastern European Conclave. He moved through history, helping other Conclaves grow and strengthen working through out Europe. His talents in the field of combat and the field of humanities served him well. By the year 1300, he was the right hand man of whatever Conclave needed him most.

He was in England in the year 1568 when he met her. She was young, a mere 150 years embraced, and gorgeous. She had been a servant of one of the courts, a warrior spy for one of the kings. Her name, Claire, flowed from the tongue like honey, her soft black hair reflecting a purple hue in the moonlight, her ice blue eyes piercing. If a vampire could love, Davos did. He trained her, taught her the ways of combat, how to deceive the lycans, how to fight them in their own ground and on the ground of the kindred. She became his partner in both unlife and combat.

They moved through time together, helping the English primogen start his Conclave. They helped build and strengthen till it was the strongest in the modern world. Its influences reached far beyond the tiny group of islands, into Central Europe and the growing North America. In time, Claire and Davos had become some of the best lycan hunters in the land, but all was soon to change.

From here on to the next notice, this is all OOC knowledge ONLY. NO ONE KNOWS THIS INFO!!

Centuries later, the tides had changed. It was an era that we humans, who still think one hundred years is an eternity, called the sixties, as if it meant anything. There had been millennia of “sixties” gone past, and millennia to soon follow. Davos and Claire found themselves in the center of American vampirism, New Orleans, Louisiana. The city prince had his eyes on Claire from the day the two had arrived to solve an issue with a local Gangrel clan, and knew he must have her.

Vampires are by far the best power players, knowing exactly what to do to get exactly what they want in any situation. The prince of New Orleans was no different. He knew that Claire was out of reach till Davos was gone. It was he that made Davos the most effective lycan and vampire hunter around, sending him on suicide mission after suicide mission, only strengthening his skills. The prince built a hatred for Davos that was unmatched, wishing him only to fail once. It was then he sent Davos on a mission he was guaranteed to fail. South America had always been a hot bed of supernatural activity, and a few upstarts in Rio were making trouble for the trafficking of blood to the northern Americas. Davos was to go to Brazil, and wipe out all vampire existence. Not just the ones causing trouble, but every little bit.

After weeks of hearing nothing, the prince made his move on Claire. For five nights straight, she resisted him, all his advances. His anger grew till finally, he enacted a final solution. If he could not have the vampiress, no one could. He ordered her into his chambers, shot her, and whilst she tried to recover, he drained every once of blood she held. It was moments later when Davos walked in the room, only to see his love dead, and the prince standing over her.

End of OOC Knowledge

There are no accounts of what happened from then on, however, vampiric activity in Louisiana as a whole has since decreased near 72%. There has been no contact with the New Orleans conclave in over thirty years, but reports are that it is slowly rebuilding. Davos' actions, movements, and location have been difficult at best, impossible often, to track. Very few know where he is or how to locate him, some saying that he will find those who need him, not vice versa. What ever it is, all know that he is dangerous, and not a force to be taken lightly, regardless of your specie.

Stats:

Appearance/Dress: Davos, more often than not, dresses to fit in, often wearing Armani and other high end suits in a conservative fassion. His personal favorite color combonations are crimson or blood red shirts with black suit jackets, pants, and ties. When hunting, attacking, or generally being violent, he takes one of two outifits: one that rivals a modern tactical specialist, black on black with load bearing kits and the like, and one used more to inspire fear than not, black pants and shirt worn under an Abby Shot Cleric Customfit coat. Physically, he his gaunt, with strong features, with two tattoos, one on either arm, and a few minor scars along his back and arms, only to remind him of days gone past. File Photo (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/f/f1/260px-PrestonLG.jpg)
Bloodline: Despite having four distinct sires, Davos is of a single bloodline, the Lasombra Anti Tribue. This group of vampires is the Lasombra bloodline that opperates under the Camarilla, often pulling as much sway and power as the Ventrue. All of the Lasombra bloodline have very distinct powers, including such a mastery of Obfuscate, that some pray they never come in contact with one of this bloodline. On the heirchial level, Davos is a Justicar, and a very, very powerfull one at that.
Equipment: Davos, despite his long background of hunting and killing, carries no specific firearms. He will use whatever he has access to, as long as it gets the job done. Regarding the use of firearms, he prefers the modern classics, and has been known, at times of formality, carry two heavily modified Kimber Custom Eclipses on a Galco dual over the shoulder harness. With knives, he sticks with SOG, Microtec, and Gerber, but is skilled with many blades of differing style. His prefered sword would be a katana, due to its ease of use and manipulation in near any form of combat.
Disciplines

Obfuscate/Obtenebration-Beyond advanced, Davos as the ability to not only move in and out of the shadows, but to literaly control them, using them as a weapon, and being able to manifest them phyisically to do harm to others. He can even create weapons out of the shadows around him, and often uses them to torture his victims. Rumor exists that with further mastery, he can do more than summon shadows, but send his enemies to a dark world of abyss
Celerity-Very advanced, Davos can move at speeds that, to some, cannot even be processed. While not as advanced as some of the master vampires who can literally teleport, Davos can still move at speeds that allow him to, with warning, dodge bullets, speeding cars, and attacks from his opponents
Prescence-Slightly beyond basic, Davos can seduce most women (and men, should he ever decide to "swing" that way) into a state of awe and wonder
Potence-Davos is extremely strong, strong enough to lift and toss a city buss with ease

Strengths and Weaknesses: Time sensative, Dogs Detest, Naturally Stealthy, Hunted

Yikes, that's a damn good bio. I've made exceptions on age before, I'll make another for your character.

Just a note I have changed a few things amongst the vampires to suit my nation, Crucifixes and holy water have no power since Christianity is non-existent in Draconis Nightcrawlis.

OOC: I don't usually roleplay as a human, but I believe I can make an exception in this case...

The Brujah foot-soldier known as 'Vendetta' made his appearance sometime after the Vietnam War. Born Vincent Detta III, to Vincent Detta II and Marlyn Detta of Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1942. Vincent enlisted in the US Army around the time of his 18th birthday as an infantryman, rising through the Airborne Rangers of the 75th Regiment to become part of the 5th Special Forces Group. Having served his country through the entirety of the Vietnam conflict, Vincent returned home to a country of anti-war activists that didn't much care for his involvement in one of the nation's most unpopular wars. It really didn't seem fair, after all he'd been through.

Feeling cheated, even betrayed by both his government and his nation, Vincent retired from the Army in disgust and relocated to Santa Monica, California. The world had somehow gained a cold taint since he'd returned home from the jungles, and he quickly found that he could deal with both that icy edge and his recurring flashbacks through alcohol and various drugs. Months blurred into years, and somehow the once-proud Green Beret and Vietnam Veteran had become an alcoholic lowlife, spending what little money he made from bouncing at a local nightclub on booze, and somewhere along the way he'd acquired an interesting network of tribal tattoos. Any attempted relationship had failed miserably, at least until he met an interesting woman known as Miranda Torres, a Brujah vampire from a coven within Santa Monica. After a wild night of drinking, drugs, and intercourse, Vincent awoke from his drug-and-drink induced stupor with a pair of holes in his neck, and Miranda had vanished.

Vincent returned home, deciding to sleep some more on the couch before his night job started. He attended work as usual, and again met up with Miranda. As the club wound down around four AM, she pulled Vincent aside and explained that she had accidentally 'sired' him. At first, Vincent was worried he'd forgotten to wear protection, but Miranda explained in great detail what was happening inside of his body. It worried him, and Vincent didn't believe her at first. It was only after the part about the Brujah clan that he really seemed to enjoy the idea of his new lifestyle, not that he had much choice in the matter. The two became inseparable, undertaking various operations for the coven leader against the decadent Camarilla, which he understood as the majority Vampire government. His military training proved valuable in his new occupation, and money no-longer became an issue. The need for alcohol vanished, replaced by the hunger for blood, which turned out to be much cheaper and easier to come by.

Tragedy struck, however, when Miranda was killed in one of the many raids the pair participated in on a regular basis. She caught an incendiary round in the chest, the phosphorus burning through her torso before Vincent could do anything for her, not that he could have done anything at all. His sire and lover was little more than a pile of smoldering ash by the time he left the area, as were her killers. Vincent, in his rage, left no-one standing. Since that day, he began calling himself 'Vendetta', and has carried a deep hatred for the Camarilla within him. Vendetta has become one of the most outspoken members of the Anarch movement, as well as one of the most militant.

Being a combat soldier, Vendetta is built solidly, standing about six-foot-two-inches tall, and weighing about two-hundred-fifteen pounds. The majority of his upper-body is covered in a thick network of tribal tattoos, triple-inked to give them a stark contrast against his skin. Since his siring, the contrast has only gotten that much starker with the lack of sun his skin receives. The pattern extends down his back, up his neck, down his arms, and over the pectorals of his chest. It ends on the backs of his hands in a screaming skull, facing inward towards each other.

Clothing-wise, Vendetta often chooses typical Anarch garb, although more through personal choice than any sort of desire to blend in. A pair of faded tiger-stripe fatigue pants, a new pair of jump-boots, and a black tank-top are his usual clothing choices. It is doubtful that he owns a suit. A black bandanna is commonly tied around his head, covering up the tattoo work and crew cut he's chosen to adorn his head, as well as give him a more vicious look, at least he thinks so. It actually gives him the appearance of a common street thug.

Vendetta's chosen armament is almost always a pair of matched Colt Gold Cup Delta Elite M1911A1 handguns in stainless steel, chambered in 10mm Norma and outfitted with Hogue grips to give the single-stack frames some meat for his large hands. A Gerber Mark II combat knife has been taped to his double-shoulder harness for quick access. Double magazine pouches hang beneath the holsters themselves. The entire rig is made of black shark-skin, giving the otherwise rough-edged Vendetta a smattering of class. Various assault rifles, bolt-action sniper weapons, and a selection of shotguns round out a decently adaptable arsenal. In addition, Vendetta retains a lot of his hand-to-hand training from his days in the Berets, and has done well in keeping up with the more modern methods of unarmed combat over the years. The only car he's ever owned is a modified DeLorian, fitted with a weapons rack and an enhanced engine.

By way of vampiric powers, Vendetta has a workable knowledge of only two, with a functional knowledge of only one. As newly sired as he is, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of his new abilities, and until recently has preferred to remain reliant on what he has known for the better part of his life, which are his physical talents. He prides himself on this, however, perhaps unwisely, but does so all the same.

His skill-base is as follows:

-Celerity: Basic
Vendetta can move faster than an average human for short bursts. Even then it requires a lot of concentration on his part, making it ineffective for combat. The only competent action he can perform in this state is pulling a trigger rapidly, turning his sidearm into a nine-shot submachine gun.

-Potence: Average
Vendetta, already around peak performance for a human and therefore more than a match for most of the human opponents he faces, finds little need for this skill unless locked in combat with an older vampire, where it comes in very handy. He has a better grasp of this skill than the previous, and has no trouble keeping it going constantly.

-Presence: Basic
Vendetta's halfway decent looks, powerful build, and rough demeanor tend to attract enough females to keep him fed, but he is capable of bringing additional females under his sway should the need arise. He also finds feeding on males disgusting, and refuses to do so under any circumstances.

Thank you. I hope I do not disappoint.

Name: Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin

Age: 174

Bloodline: Brujah

Gender: Female

Hair: Brown, Slicked back, Cut roughly slightly above shoulders.

"Probably cut it herself, without a mirror."

Eyes: Brown, irises visible when angry.

Height: 147 cm

"Short for her age."

Appearance: Wears an oversized dark red jacket with quite a lot of buckles. Has a small dark mole below the right eye, and thin eyebrows.

"Reminds people of an angry domesticated feline."

Personality: Split between her conservative nihilistic human side and her nonconformist Brujah side. Easy to anger. Has a tendency to talk rapidly, and to hiss when mad.

"Are you trying to spit?"

Weapons: An L-shaped hollow pipe, slightly rusted at the bend, sharpened at the long end, also doubles as a cane.

"It's hollow so the blood won't get on her coat."

Bio: Once the only daughter of a respectable travelling merchant, Mary was a spoiled yet intelligent child, who intended to live a luxurious life siphoning from her father's wealth.

When she was 12, her family's carriage was ambushed by vampires. They slaughtered her parents with ease and were disinterested in her, instead ransacking her carriage. Mary became furious that her relaxed future was ruined, and clawed at the raiders. Out of spite, the vampires sired the 'stubborn little girl' for her insolence.

Years after being forcefully embraced, Mary still hadn't found her Sire, and had given up the hope of taking sweet revenge upon whoever that had cursed her with vampirism, and an eternity as a 12 year old.

Instead, Mary decides to play with the hand that she had been given, trying to carve out a living in the shadows, vigorously working towards that one day when she could rebuild her father's business so she can enjoy the luxuries of the rich once more.

To her distaste, she recently found out she was one of the Brujah, instead of the classier Ventrue.

15-01-2007, 22:13
Well my nation covers an entire planet and we have colonies in another galaxy thanks to 5CN. That said the vampires won't be travelling in anything more than a futuristic car without wheels. No using spaceships, no battles out in space, in fact it's unlikely for them to even leave the city it's set in. There will be futuristic weapons, lightsabers, zat-ni'katels and whatnot. Alot of my vampires will only use antique weapons like swords and guns.

My tech is pretty far future, but you'll probably not really notice.

OOC: Until then, I'll still be here. I've been done with Basic for roughly two years now (They were still issuing BDU's when I went through), and this will be the more technical stuff (Communications Repair, Infantry, Airborne), I might be able to get online during the weekends. Commo repair comprises six months of the stuff, and should be the most boring, but probably low-impact stuff (I hope not, I miss the patrols and ambush drills).

After that, I don't know. I might apply for RIP, or I might take some time off and go to school for gunsmithing, or apply for Small Weapons Repair training. Volunteering for overseas deployment is also an option, but by then it might not be. Who knows.

Anyway, enough of that shit. When exactly does this thing kick off?
