OOC Introduction:

Although my posting record here's zilch-zero I have a past record of rping in the esteemed region of Europe. (Three years :O)

There I created the state of Erlangen-Ansbach. I will use it as a base and see how I'll develop it in this interesting alternative universum. Here it may go a similiar yet different way.

Think of a kinky mix of Bavaria + Danish + Spanish parts of the monarchy sections as to constitutional issues. Ethically it is a mix of Germans (="Franconians"), French (Brusselians) and Spanish (Peruvians).

My first change will be the introduction of a change in ranking, something that I will never do in NS Europe.

Enjoy this generally interior affairs thread. If I can motivate myself I'll re-do my NSWiki, i.e. crosscopy and adjust all my relevant European stuff. Maybe.

The King's Cabinet Room

The King was a little bit heated up: "With all due respect, my dear Alexander, I think MY PEOPLE will be able to stomach that the elevation to empire will come at my sole discretion and not as an intiative from the Reichstag."

Chancellor Alexander Gieshübler rolled his eyes, but didn't comment anything. The veteran politican and uncle to the King was used to the stubborness of his royal nephew.
Luckily most royals of Erlangen-Ansbach had inherited only a healthy helping of stubborness. It was simply the combined force of Franconian aristocratic genes of his parents.

King Raik suddenly shook off his anger like a bothering layer of dust: "See, Alexander. You have been one of the best chancellors of Erlangen-Ansbach since years. Even better than Drempetic. I trust you and I hope you do so, too. You know that I'm keen on the principles of democracy et al. The people need a say in general interior affairs-"

The Chancellor nodded silently and indicated Raik to continue.

"- yet my coronation to emperor is not a general matter at all! The proclaimation will initiated by myself, by special royal decree. For those circumstances it is generally accepted by the major constitutional lawyers that the Monarch fills any constitutional gaps by responsible royal decrees, subject to potential control of the constitutional court if abused."

Alexander Gieshübler clicked his tongue: "Wow, you inform yourself very well, Raik."

The Chancellor used the personal address, as they were alone in the room, making pageantry superfluous.

"I'll take that as a compliment, venerated uncle. Anyway, I will promulgate the proclaimation to Emperor in three days. The Reichstag may then debate the issue. I hope it is self-evident that I expect the CVP* to approve it. The duchies in the Reichsrat** will be an easy thing to catch, I think."


"Oh, don't worry. Furthering the national prestige is always a good arguement for my fellow members of parliament. The FLP*** will surely contribute the necessary addition for the 2/3 majority, if they are offered some politcal incentives."

King Raik was obviously cheered up by outlook of being an emperor within days. Minor vanity ran in the family, as well: "That sounds fine. Do you have time for a short stroll through the park with the dogs or are you over-occupied?"



*Christian People's Party = absolute majority since roughly seven decades
**Reichsrat = Federal Council of Germany
***Free Liberal Party = second largest opposition party

The royal decree itself was disguised in such a legalistic language that common citizens wouldn't realise their country's elevation till the media smelled the virtual bait, i.e. when the papers were conveyed to the Reichstag for fast consideration.

WE, RAIK III, By the Grace of God King of the United Kingdom of Erlangen-Ansbach and Peru, hereby declare Our Realm to be known as Empire of Erlangen-Ansbach and Peru. For too long Our Realm has lacked the appropriate title, for too long Our Realm has been too modest.

OUR Government is hereby instructed to introduce the respective bills ammending the structures and institutions of Erlangen-Ansbach to suit to the new situation.
