Reggins: Good Morning Qazox, I'm John Reggins, and the President has been shot. President Ryan Foley, 18 months into his 15 year term as president has been fatally wounded by an assassin, while entering the Fromburg Chamber of Commerce earlier this morning. Fromburg police have shot and killed the assassin, a 25 year old man, named Jaques Herr. It is unknown at this moment the motives behind the assassination.

For those of you just joining us, at aproximately 8:30 this morning, President Ryan Foley, of Pika City was shot and just about 15 minute ago was pronounced dead at the Fromburg University Hospital. Early reports are that a lone gunman, one Jaques Herr is the man responsible for the shooting. The Black House has not yet released any other information, and as we learn more about this horrible act, we here at QBS will keep you fully informed.

I'm joined now by our Political consultant, Lenny Holden. Lenny, with the vice-president recouperating from her surgery of earlier this week, just who now is incharge of Qazox?

Holden: Well, John, due to the 23rd clause of the Qazoxian Constitution, if both the President and Vice President are incompacitated in any way, the most senior member of the Senate, who currently is Jodie Selco of Kibbutz, assumes the duties of the president until either the president or vice president are able to resume their office. In this case, until Vice President Wendi Gather recovers from her surgery, Jodie Selco is the president.

Reggins: Thank you Lenny. We will now take you live to the steps of the Fromburg Chamber of Commerce, where David Grest is standing by, David?

Grest: John, i'm standing here at the Fromburg Chamber of Commerce, where just over 45 minutes ago, President Foley was shot. According to eyewitnesses, as Foley was walking from his limo into the Chamber of Commerce, Jaques Herr, walked up the the President shook his hand, and then apparently took out a .357 Mangum and shot the President in the chest 3 times. Herr then took Fromburg Mayor Havery Wiest, and held the weapon to Wiest's head. After a few minutes of a stand off, Herr let go of Wiest and was fatally shot by a Fromburg police officer. The President was taken to the UF Hospital in his limo and according to some members of the police force, died en route to the hospital.

Reggins: David, I hate to interupt you, but there is breaking news, now coming in from Saint Nash as apparently, Vice President Wendi Gather, who five days ago had gastric-bypass surgery, has died. According to our source, Vice president Gather slipped into a coma between 6:30 and 7:00 this morning, and just a few minutes ago, died. This just is too shocking for words right now. This is the worst day in history.... (To be Continued....)

"...getting their reaction to events in first, the Starblaydi Foreign Office made sure that everyone else knew they had nothing to do with the murder of the Qazoxian President and death of the Vice-President, just minutes ago.

"Starblaydia, currently embroiled in a region-wide war within Atlantian Oceania, is said to have 'not one iota of strategic interest whatsoever in The Very Strange Hamlet of Qazox', in a brief statement made by Lord Isaac M.C. Chisoko, the Starblaydi Foreign Minister, moments ago. The events in Fromburg, Qazox's second city with a population of some seventy-five million, saw an archetypal 'lone gunman', identified as one Jaques Herr, murder President Ryan Foley with three shots to the chest before attempting to take a city official hostage. He was then neutralised by local police.

"This constitutes something of a double-whammy for Qazox, who have also lost their Vice-President, Wendi Gather, due to complications arising from stomach surgery to curb her morbid obesity. Left with a constitutional crisis, a special session of the Qazoxian senate is taking place right now to elect a new President.

"Once again, Starblaydia was completely uninvolved in this Qazoxian crisis, dubbed by their media as 'the worst day in history'. "Now, what was to be our main story on this mid-morning news, Starblaydi forces have penetrated even further into The Lowland Clans..."

Prime Minister Taji Tatakishi picked up the morning paper. "Woah...hey everyone come and look at this."

He summond most of his staff. "You'll never belive this but a country has just lost their President and Vice President."

"Your kidding." Vice Prime Minister James Issacs said. "Does it say if a new leader will be elected or chosen?"

"It doesn't, turn on the radio, tune to QBS."

Once again both President President Ryan Foley and Vice President Wendi Gahter have died, leaving the nation with out a leader.

"IT says here Jodie Selco may assume the presidency."

"This is terrible."

"Well if it is a democratic country it can survive."

"Well of course, but still losing two leaders in the same day, imagin if both me and James were to die. The power would be assumed to the Attorney General."

"Well we'll keep our eyes on it sir."

"Shall I send them a telegram expressing our condolences?"

Qazoxian President Gunned Down; Assegai Players Stunned

QAZOX CITY, Qazox — When news of the assassination of Qazoxian President Ryan Foley came down, members of the Assegai Developments National Team were still in practice. However, the shock of the news was enough to leave the players stunned and numb, some of them sitting down to absorb the news.

At approximately 8:30 this morning, Qazoxian President Ryan Foley was approached by Jaques Herr, who shook his hand and then apparently took out a .357 Magnum and unloaded three shots into the President’s chest, mortally wounding him. Herr then took Fromburg Mayor Haver Wiest, holding the gun to his head. After a few tense moments, Foley released Wiest and was shot and killed by a Fromburg police officer. Foley was taken to the UF Hospital in his limo but died en route to the hospital.

“What a terrible thing to happen,” said Assegai midfielder and team captain Ashley Riot, visibly dejected. “We were hoping to enjoy a celebration of football tonight; instead, we mourn the death of the Qazoxian President. What a loss.”

As of last notice, there was still no word on whether the Qazoxian team would play their qualifier or forfeit the match.

John Reggins: Within a span of an hour, Qazox has lost not only its' President, but also its Vice-President. Lenny Holden, who is QBS' political consultant, what happens now, that both of our Civil leaders are dead?

Holden: According to the 27th Clause of the Qazoxian Constitution, Jodie Selco, who is the most senior member of the Senate, assumes the Presidentcy, but the Senate and the Judiciary Court must meet and elect a President within 10 days. According to my sources inside of the Senate, they are planning to meet today at around 10 am to disscuss these events and possibly begin the process of electing a new President.

Reggins: Is it just the Senate and Judiciary Court that meet or is it the full Legislature? Is the House of Commons part of this process?

Holden: Not according to the 27th Clause. The HoC, as we all know, has lost much of its power over the last 15 to 20 years, as more and more scandals have been brought to light, most notably, Speaker of the House Brian Fresian's child pornography ring and his murder of his mistress. I do believe that a few members of the House are allowed to sit in on the proceedings, but they are not a factor in the election of our new President.


Reggins: Thank you Lenny. For those of you just tuning in, At approximately 8:30 this morning, President Ryan Floey, on his way to a speech at the Fromburg Chamber of Commerce, was shot and later died en route to the University of Fromburg Hospital. The gunman, one Jaques Herr of Fromburg, accoring to eyewitnesses, shot the President three times in the chest, and was shot by Fromburg Police after trying to hold Fromburg Mayor Havery Wiest hostage. About 20 minutes before this senseless tragedy, Vice President Wendi Gather, whose gastric-bypass surgery left her in a weakened condition, apparently fell into a coma, and died minutes before the President was shot. In a few minutes, the Senate and the Judiciary Court are scheduled to meet and we'll take you live to the Senate floor after this memoriam for President Ryan Floey, dead at age 47.

TRAGEDY IN QAZOX!!!!

Earlier this morning, our former colonizers, Qazox, was hit with a double whammy, as their President, Ryan Foley was shot and killed outside of a Fromburg business hall. Their Vice President, Wendi Gather, who earlier in the week had complicated surgery, also died after falling into a coma earlier in the day. This leaves Qazox in complete and utter shock, as in recorded history no country in the Q Continuum has had to deal with anything like this.

Our President, Cheech Chong, sends his condolences to the entire nation of Qazox and asks Interim President Jodie Selco, if there is anything Sativaville can do to help our good friends in Qazox. Truly a day that will live in infamy.


President Chong looks over the press release that he has prepared, and chuckles to himself abit. 'That sounds good enough to me, I just wish the Golden Dusk was behind it. But Qazox is in for a surprise, we Satviavillians never forget. It may have taken us 100 years to get our revenge, but like the old saying goes Revenge is a dish best served cold.'

John Reggins: We now go live to the Senate floor, where, Interim President, Jodie Selco, is readying her speech.

(cuts to the interior of the Senate floor, where the 51 Senators and the 17 members of the Judiciary Court are seated, along with about 25 various media reporters.)

Selco: Citizens of Qazox, esteemed Senators, esteemed Judges, members of the press, Today is truly a sad day as we all have suffered a great loss, not only by the cowardly murder of our president, but also the untimely death of our vice president. Now, according to the 27th Clause of the Qazoxian Constitution, I, with a heavy and sad heart, assume the duties of being your president. We as a country have gone through much over the past few months, but I believe, that the Qazoxian spirit is one that can withstand today's events and emerge from this day, stonger, more unified and proud. (pauses for applause from the Senate and Judiciary Court)I will now open the floor to the journalists, but I remind you, that we have business to take care of, so please only one question per person....Holly..you're first.

Holly Dorre (QBC): Madam President, with the Qazoxian unempolyment rate at an all-time high of 17%, what is your strategy for bring about new jobs and reducing unemployment?

Selco: Well as I have tried once before to pass a Public Works Initiative, as President, I believe now that...

Reggins: We here at QBS apologize for cutting off the press conference, but new information has just come in from our reporter in Fromburg, David Grest, David what is this new bit of information?


Grest: John, according to preliminary police reports about the background of the suspected assassin, Jaques Herr, there is some apparent links that may connect Herr to the terrorist group the Golden Dusk, The Golden Dusk, as most of Qazox knows, is an extremely voilent anti-government group originally based in Rockport. Their supposed leader, Jochiam Dresa has stated before that an assasination of a top civil leader has been one of his group goals. As of now, the links are tentative, but once again, there may be a chance that Herr, the man suspected of the murder of President Foley, maybe a member of the Golden Dusk, back to you John.

Reggins: What a startling development in a day full of severe tragedy. Once again, for those just now joining us, President Ryan Foley, was shot about 90 minutes agao, and according to police reports, died en route to the hospital. His assassin, Jaques Herr, has possible links to the terrorist group Golden Dusk. We now return you to the Senate floor, where Interim President Jodie Selco is holding a press conference.

Selco: ...I do not know exactly how many people maybe nominated but I am putting myself forward as a canidate for President. Folks, I hate to cut short this press conference, but we do have to start our deliberations sometime today. Thank you all for coming, and as usual there will be complete disclosure of today's debate made available after today's session is ended.

Today at 10:00 am,a bomb has exploded at the Qazoxian Senate when new President,Jodie Selco,was ending his opening ceremony question time.The number of injuries and fatalities is unknown,but is very possible that the new President Jodie Selco is dead.Contacts of the Fromburg Police Department believe that President Foley's assasination could have something with the terrorist group, The Golden Dusk,and some experts say that the bomb that exploded at the Qazoxian Senate could be another The Golden Dusk assasination attempt.The last events on Qazox could cause a Civil War.

Holden: Foks I'm sorry to have to report this, but apparently, a bomb has gone off in the Senate building, where just a few moments ago, Interim President Jodie Selco had just finished her press conference, and the Senate was about to begin deliberations on the vote for the next President. We currently do not know if there are any survivors at this time or how extensive the damage is. This day of tragedy, which started with an assassination, now has gotten worse as now the Senate has been bombed. Once again we don't know if any body survivied or the extent of the damage, but a have a camera crew on the way hand we hope to have a report within the next few minutes. Hold on please.. The producer is in my earpiece...(pauses to listen...) You're serious, it's him? You're sure it's not a practical joke of some kind? You want ME to interview him.. but I'm just a consulatant, not an anchor.. I'll do my best.. Folks, apperently we have on our phone the leader of Golden Dusk, Jochiam Dresa. Mr. Dresa... is your group responsible for the events of today?

Jochiam Dresa (via phone): Mr. Holden. I'm surprised that you are taking my call, and just in case the miltary or civil authorities are planning to use this call to trace it back to my location, please be aware that I am using a cloned satellite phone, and by the time you do find out where I am, this conversation will be over. As for your question, Mr. Holden, yes, we are responsible for the attack on the Senate building, but The Golden Dusk is in no way responsible for the assassination of President Foley.

Holden: We do have some evidence that Jaques Herr was in contact with your organization. You are the type of person that would gloat over this kind of attack, so why deny your involvement in the assassination?

Dresa: The Golden Dawn was not in any way responsible for the assassination of Foley. Mr. Herr was in contact with us once and was in fact a recruit, but we declined to allow him to join our organization. The man was a complete nut job and we, the Golden Dusk, despite whatever you or the public think about us, are not insane, but the last bastion of sanity in a world gone insane. Mr. Holden, today is far from over, and our revolution has only just begun. (audio of phone signal)...

Holden: Mr. Dresa?? ...well according to the leader of the Golden Dusk, they are claiming responsiblity for the bombing of the Senate, just over 20 miutes ago, but Jochiam Dresa, the leader of the terrorist group has denied that his group was responsible for the assassination of President Foley. The Holy Oxen XXXIX, Salvatore Colling, has been moved to a secure location somewhere in Qazox, and in a few minutes he has requested time for a press conference. We'll take you there live once the video feed has been secured. For those of you who haven't been watching the news or listening to it on the radio, About 2 hours ago, President Foley was shot and killed by an assassin, Jaques Herr, who may have ties to the Golden Dusk. The Golden Dusk has claimed responsibility for the bombing of the Senate bulding, which just occured about 25 minutes ago. This national nightmare is spiraling out of control, and I for one am at a loss for words as to how Qazox is going to recover.

Civil War on Qazox

Some minutes after Qazoxian Senate bombing,a group of youth who claimed to be members of The Golden Dusk have killed five police officers and fifteen citizens at the outskirts of Qazox city.There have been totally twenty-one deaths and fifty injuried.this is a clear sign that something bad is happening in Qazox.

Green wombat President Daphne Culins was woken from her sleep at around 6:45 in the morning (Green Wombat Time.. about 2 hrs behind Qazox...)

Culins: Peter.. I'm up... I'm up dang it.. now whats so damnned important that you woke me up 3 hours after I finally fell asleep? ...You got to be kidding. Holy crap. I want a press conference set up for 8:00 am. I'm going to call some people that I know over in Qazox. I don't have to tell you who they are, just get me a secure line, I'll take care of the rest.

Citizens of Green wombat.. Our neighboring country of Qazox, with whom relations over the past few years has gotten better, has suffered not one but two trageies today. About an hour and a half ago, President Ryan Foley, who while still a Senator, was very instrumental for securing the international relief after our civil war 11 years ago, was hot and killed by a deranged assassin. The other tragedy was their Vice President, Wendi Gather, was found dead this moring in her home, appearently from complications of her surgery earlier this week. I, personally have worked with these two great leaders, and I counted them amongst my closest friends. I believe, that whatever lingering animostity there is between our two countries, we can pull together and help our neighbors in this saddest of days. I cannot speak for the entire country, but for my self I truly am saddened by this great loss.

The man laying down in the blue suit face down in the center of the photo has been confirmed as being President Foley. The man in the light blue blazer holding a gun on the left side of the photo has been confirmed as Jaques Herr. More on this as it happens. (TBC)

"Boss, there's something up in T4."

Marcus Lysdale walked over to the video screens. From the glass-walled booth, the he could see the entire immigration area and the immigration areas of the other terminals, via closed-circuit TV.

A flight from Qazox had just arrived, and everything was usual in the transit area. What was unusual was the official-looking men standing just outside the exit into the public area, checking passports and pulling out some people.

The officer didn't need to point it out. "Who the hell are those guys?" Marcus said. "What do they think they're doing?" He reached for the radio.

Sergeant Catherine Gillard's radio crackled.

"Gillard here," she said.

"Sergeant, what's with the people checking passports in the T3 arrival hall?"

"They're not ours?"

"No. I'd have told you, wouldn't I?" snapped Marcus.

"Sorry chief. I assumed. I'll get right on it." She signalled her partner, a young constable named Lucas Hdiny, and they approached the men.

"Excuse me, sir. Sergeant Gillard, Malton Regional Police Airport Division. You are not Kelssek Customs officers, and you are checking passports. Could you explain to me what you're doing?"
