An attempted assassination on Maya- the assassin believed her to be Rimoru.

Maya and Draskin are asking around about Rimoru, finding out what they can (may I suggest reading them. I find it quite interesting the conclusions you guys came up with!) lol.

Mythos is trying to kidnap Rimoru again, inside her room (in the palace), however Rimoru is trying to seduce her way out.

Itzuki has been stuck helping a babbling old man put away files and folders lol

Just asbout Deatharon is an evil char. He's part of a different faction.

If you show your char shows some sort of darker side (murderous) perhaps your char will be visted by a dark char for recruitment...

Well, outside, there are guards patrolling, the occasional law mages wandering about (and perhaps a few wandering magi who are close to Lord Ifrete), A few trees, Pinky, and a lot of spells to prevent people from jumping across the wall.

Well, they could just jump in the trees, then climb down, hide in the bushes when the guards come by and perhaps the occasional mage (Rimoru using her own powers to mask them a bit)

well Mythos woke up and found out Rimoru was gone then he drugged a guard and got into the palace to find Rimoru, he talked Rimoru into leaving with him and you are waiting for the escape to be lead by Mythos

Drasken got info from the senator, then went back to the inn and was put in touch with Maya after sleeping

Inzuki went on that tour and worked to pay for it then went to the inn/tavern

Selim got paid and left the palace, got his golems repaired and ended up at the tavern

Maya wandered the city for a while then communed with spirits, but got attacked from an assassin believing her to be Rimoru. She ended up going to the tavern and getting put in touch with Drasken. Afterwards, she attacked Athral since he said some derogitory words to her, believing her to be Rimoru. They made up after a stand off between herself and Athral against Selim, and are now talking in the tavern.

Alani found out info from Pinky through Ahanu, then went to the tavern to sell jewelery


And at the moment...Rimoru is waiting a response from Mythos...lol

Well since I know that Blastit is not awake yet and I have nothing else to do I'll do my best to make a quick summary, it will only cover the stuff that is between your last post to his summary from yesterday.

Atticus left the palace and went to the tavern to meet a guy he callled Judge. He got a few more details about what he's supposed to be doing (bring Rimoru and Victoria to the man alive).

Drasken went to a senator's office to find out info dealing with Victoria's kidnapping.

Partly because half the words don't really exist yet, and partly because it's unlikely anybody has given that much thought to it by this point. (This is, after all, a fantasy setting).

I'm not complaining, and I'm guilty of it as well, but I just thought I'd point out that it's a little out of character.

Um... no, not really. That talk didn't really seem to make sense in this world... There aren't really companies or corporations as mentioned nor does war (past or present) actually spawn as much advancement and invention as you think. Sure it creates new weapons and things useful in wars (but not electricity, lights, internet, telephones, planes, automobiles, etc. - some of the great inventions), but most things were not created from, for, or during war. In fact, what seems to spark the most amount of advancement is "international" economic and scientific competition.

Hey, Welcome Back, we are mainly waiting for Blast to do something i think.

My comp has been on it's last leg for the past couple of days. Just got it repaired yesterday, so I'm good to go.

Basically(really basic summary), the druid person got upset at the weapon merchant, and left.
Athral(and others) chased after her.
Rimoru was on her way to the tavern.
One(or two) assassins chose to try and waste the two royals.
They got chased away with the royals injured, the street in disrepare and Relthor(royal advisor, dragon in human form) appeared and started taking charge.

Powers/Speciality: Due to tutoring by a dragon, can speak a good many languages, including a few ancient ones.

Where From: Ifrete Manor, Nothern Iskan

Bio: Iskan is a nation of not only corruption, but of rumors. No one has ever seen Lady Ifrete before and only Relthor and the Ifrete household know who she is. Some say Lady Ifrete never existed, that Lord Darian either conjured up his children or bought them from somewhere.

Others say Lady Ifrete is Morellia, the goddess of love.

In either case, Rimoru Ifrete is the youngest of several daughters. Although all her sisters are very beautiful, Rimoru seems to take the mantle of the top, mixed in her with seductive personality, she tends to get what she wants.

However, her oldest sister, Victoria, the "Emerald of Iskan" (due to her bright green eyes) always seemed to be with her father, making him proud with the smallest thing she did.

Lord Darian, however, never spends time with his other children, briefly walking around to check on them.

Rimoru Ifrete, instead, spent her time being taught under a genius elf who would rather have spent his time working on new blueprints or theories than teach.

And then when Relthor offered to teach the children for no pay, Lord Ifrete wholeheartedly agreed.

Rimoru soon grew up, studious and exciting, always wanting to know what was next on her school agenda. But this soon changed.

Rimoru began to feel the wonders of love. She turned into a seductress who used her power, position, and her perfect body to get what she wanted from other men. And eventually, it even engulfed the Ageless Dragon himself, in secret of course.

However, something terrible has struck the Ifrete household. Lord Darian's precious Victoria had been kidnapped. Actually, she vanished, right from under his nose. The head of House Ifrete was furious, nearly ripping apart a good portion of town to find her.

Instead, he organized search parties in attempt to find her. But every lead led no where. Many consider the beautiful, kind, and loved Victoria gone.

Relthor, however, believes she is still quite alive. And he wishes to send his prodigies, Rimoru and Athral, as a sort of test, to find Victoria.


Rimoru, always loving challenges, agreed.

Akarth was resurrected by an Avatar of Minax thus bring this ancient monstrosity back from the underworld. Minax however, decided to make some changes to the once human Akarth. He is now Undead but posses his human looks and appearance. He is like a vampire but needs to feed upon the souls of the living. This terrible abomination now seeks his throne from his treacherous son.

Bio:
Daughter of a noble of the House of Dazaru in the far kingdom of Rhyda, Maya fled from that life two years earlier, choosing instead to roam the world and see what she can make for herself. Her reasons for leaving are known only to herself, and she tries to keep her origins hidden, both to avoid being treated like a noble and to avoid making herself a target. The only link to her origin she possesses is a silver pendant in the shape of a phoenix grasping a spear in its talons, the Dazaru family emblem.

Since she was six years old, she was instructed in the art of what Rhydans know as a Druid, one capable of communicating with the spirits, as well as the arts of magic, once it was discovered she had a natural aptitude. In her late teens, she spent two years at a monastery furthering her knowledge by the tutelage of the masters there. Upon her departure from the monastery, the senior master told her that ‘if she learnt where her limits were, she would be one of the most promising students he had seen in a long time’. Though she has continued trying to advance her abilities, she has yet to learn exactly where those limits are.

She has formed a bond of friendship with one spirit in particular, an uncommon but not unknown event among druids. This spirit, whose name in life was Kaolai, lived several hundred years ago and had been a general in the Rhydan army and was killed defending the kingdom from invasion. Because of this bond, he tends to stay close to her, offering his advice and the wisdom gained from observing the world for several hundred years, as well as his companionship.

In the two years since she left her home, she has wandered far and wide, seeking out what the world can show and offer her, and forever pushing to further her knowledge. As a traveller, her possessions are few, limited to what she can carry in the small pack she wears on her back. She wears comfortable but sturdy leather armour under her robes, that a friendly traveller convinced her to buy shortly after leaving home, and it has served her well on several occasions. She also wears a long muted grey cloak and carries a long ash staff as a walking tool and a dirk to defend herself with if needed.

(S)He knows a lot about healing, but cannot use spells to heal. Two animals chose to stay with her(him) as companions. They are Ahanu, a weasel like animal that likes water, and Alesdair, a large feline. Both would protect Alani to the death, but Ahanu is not too good in a fight so usually stays out of the way. Alani can also talk to all nonmagical animals and most magical animals due to her(his) training as a druid.

Weaknesses: If fighting in a city with no plants, (s)he is at a great disability. (S)He is ok with his(her)staff, but will quickly fall to anyone with any ability with their weapon.

Weakness: Naturally skilled in dark places, but his sense have never fully adjusted to daylight and remain weaker during the day. Not as skilled in combat or in magic as a dedicated user of each and limited ability to hit more than one enemy.

Bio: He had been alive for an unknown time before he became fully aware, living among his feral brethren in caves, scraping an existence from killing animals that dwelt in the caves or travellers passing through them. The passage of days meant little in the caves as nobody could see light.

He began to horde items from travellers killed in the caves and gradually began to study them, realising there was a differant world outside the caves. He eventually left the clan and followed the paths they usually ambushed travellers on until he came to a city like warren of tunnels, a squad of guards recognised him as one of the bandits and he was arrested and sold into slavery as a pet.

Gradually over several years he learnt languages and became somewhat civilised. Eventually his master died and he was set free, taking some of the possesions and keeping the name he had been given, he left the city and eventually found an exit from the caves. For days he wandered at night, sleeping through the day after finding he could barely see during the day, his eyes felt like they were burning.

Eventually he found his way to a city and sold off most of the few items he had, keeping his clothes and a curved sword. People looked on him with suspicion, and he at first struggled to find a place, but eventually found a place as a guard for a merchant caravan, given the job of being a sentry during the night and sleeping during the day to make use of his abilities. Over years he travelled as such, not staying in any one place for long and over time learning how to fight well enough. He has recentely rolled into the city and believes he stands to make some money if he can help in some way.

Okay, as Blastit would know if he ever checked his TGs, I've been having problems with my forum account and updating my email address, which is why I haven't posted in the last few days.

This particular one would probably speak Draconic, but I'm not totally sure. The fusing of two creatures sometimes messes up normal brain functions anyways...you can try and talk it down, but it might still attack out of confusion.

I am debating whether he is just hard to see in the dark or whether he actually becomes darkness.

Thinking about it now (as I write this), I am going to say that he can't see him. However, he can see some whisps of darkness/black stuff/something that would identify where he is.

Umm... no?

Becoming darkness means once he is in the shadows, he himself is basically a shadow... it doesn't mean he changes into dark energy that can be manipulated.

Aye, Drasken can minipulate shadows and darkness, but he can't quite - as funny as it would be - make peoples own shadows fight against or take control of any concious shadow creature.

He could affect the darkness around Mythos and leave him standing there in a suspiciously humanoid shaped area of darkness if a light source was around, but not directly manipulate him.

If there was a light source around (assuming it was intense enough and directed), then Mythos would simply be as discernable as anyone else.

A thought has just occured to me: You say that all the candles went out, but you seem to have forgotten that there was a fireplace in that room as well (Maya's sitting by it).

Did you put that out too, or is it still lit? I have to assume it's the former, because if it was the latter, it would be far from dark. And even if it's out, embers tend to glow for a while. Or did Mythos manage to put it out entirely?

I figured as much, and it works better with what I had planned for my next post too, but it hadn't been mentioned, and I would imagine completely extinguishing a fire is a little different from putting out a load of candles and oil lamps.

Aye, we'll get moving soon enough. I think Athral's healers will come in soon and ignore the fact that a chimera is still otuside in the rain.

Maya's condition is a combination of physical exhaustion and a result of over-using her elemental abilities. Like I said in one of my posts, when she can't siphon enough energy out of the ether, she ends up siphoning it out of herself.

I also support the motion to move to the next day. Maya's out for the count this time, and isn't going to wake up for a while.

I am disheartened and relieved simultaneously.

I won't be able to post much during the week any more (say until... May...), which is why I haven't been on recently. Thus I am happy to see I am not behind. However, at the same time I am disheartened to see that this hasn't progressed an inch...

I think that Rimoru is out of the question to convince Maya to join because she keeps being mistaken for Rimoru. I agree that Relthor doesn't seem to have impressed Maya, but think that due to Athral's great injuries he too is out of the question since he will probably be unconscious or dropping in and out of consciousness for a while unless he gets a healer that had healing magic. I doubt that Alani can convincer Maya also because she sees Alani as a lowly peddler, not any of Alani's healing skills. Maya really hasn't met Itzuki enough to have him convince her, plus he's not there right now. Really the one that I can see being able to convince her easiest is Drasken because she has talked to him and seemed to respect him.

Oh DMG, as to how spring break can be busy, in my case I was away from home for ¾ of the time and most of that was spent without internet connection. When I was home my parents had a bunch of odd jobs around the house and in town that they had saved up for me.

Your assessments of Maya's opinions are fairly accurate. Selim and Relthor are out of the question, which wasn't really hard to work out. She hasn't met Itzuki, so that's also pretty unlikely. And Mombacho is right about Alani; Maya didn't see her healing abilities, so she's still just a peddler to Maya.

Now, let's look at the rest:
Mythos - Though Maya hasn't really met him either, he didn't exactly do himself any favours in her eyes with the incident between him and Selim, so her opinion of him is similar to that of Selim.

Athral - Though they seemed friendly enough with each other, Maya revealed her opinion of him in talking to Relthor. And his quick response to violence in regard to the earlier Selim situation (he does seem to cause a lot of problems) was also a black mark.

Rimoru - This is the one that probably isn't what you expected. Despite the fact that she doesn't really like Rimoru, and constantly being mistaken for her is more than a little irritating, it is Rimoru's problem that she would be helping with. And, as stated in her bio (all that time ago), she has a hard time turning down an honest request for help.

Drasken - Yeah, that one was pretty obvious too. The only person in this entire city that she thinks she might actually like.

So, there you have it: Drasken and Rimoru.

I'll try to be around, but i've caught an evil cold and found out my left eye is being mostly ignored by my brain, so if i try using it for much i keep getting headaches. Kind of annoying and distracting. >.<

I should really stop doing this... I think this is the third time in an RP that I've gotten my character unconscious or asleep for a prolonged period of time, and it always annoys me after the fact, because it means I can't post until my intended 'wake-up' point has been reached. And that always takes longer than I expect.
