GREEN WOMBATIAN DAILY TRASH

Well once again Green Wombat is in the Q CUP, and after a hard fought 1-0 win over Estresse Intenso, the Ermines have dropped two straight, 3-1 to Toranat and 3-0 to Cafendeu. With matches still against Quakmybush and yafor 2, it looks like the Ermines won't get a chance to repeat their Semi-Final run in the 1st Q CUP.

CAFUNDÉU IN THE SEMIFINALS

Cafundéu finished in the second place in the group phase of the second Q-Cup in Qazox and will play the semifinal against Yafor 2. The team defeated their republican rivals Estresse Intenso and finished the first phase without losing a game. But, even with this rivalry between monarchy and republic, the game didn’t attract many Cafundéu supporters.

“I don’t understand this. Women football is a popular sport in Cafundéu, and if we see how many people were watching the game, we’ll discover that only five percent of the population were, and this because the game was against our main rivals, Estresse Intenso. The percentage is even lower in the other games”, said the coach Melissa Araguaia, worried about this.

“I had a great game, scoring two goals against them. Then I called to my mother and asked her if she saw the game. She answered me that she didn’t see it because Cafundéu was playing against Spaam for the World Cup qualifiers, and because of that she couldn’t saw her own daughter”, said Ana Laura, disappointed with this situation. More than seventy-five percent of Cafundéu’s population was seeing the men’s national team playing against Spaam.

“At least they won. But we won too, and the newspapers are only showing them. I only found a small article about our victory. But I have nothing against them”, said the attacking midfielder Alice. All the players are now getting prepared for the game against Yafor 2, and this is a very important game, as the opponents are a very strong and dangerous team. “It’ll be very difficult, but we’ll work hard to win this game”, said the goalkeeper Caroline.

The players heard the bad news that the president of Qazox was murdered, and that the vice-president has died. Ana Paula said: “It’s really sad. I understand how the population fell now and we’re sorry for them.” – she paused for some moments and then said – “To tell the truth, I can’t understand how they fell, as in my country this never happened, but I’m still sorry for them.”

Ana Laura concluded: “Yes, this situation never happened with us, but surely happened in Estresse Intenso many times, as violence is part of that country’s culture. It would be better for them if they returned to our country, to be ruled by our emperor.” This message probably won’t be released to the press.

CAFUNDÉU IN THE FINAL AFTER VERY GOOD GAME

Cafundéu reached the final of the Q-Cup in Qazox after defeating Yafor 2. The goals were scored by Ana Laura and Joseane. Now Cafundéu will play the final against the Toranat, and the country hopes to win this important title. “It’ll be very important for our career, and we’ll fight for it”, said the defender Sarah, who won a place in the main team after the injury of Beatriz.

The players also talked about the lack of media exposure of the competition in Cafundéu. “Now I’m sure that they’ll follow the final, as the men team has already qualified to the World Cup. I expect that the people of our country will be supporting us”, said Alice, happy with the good performances of the team and hoping to win the title. The formation will be probably the same of the last games.

“Now it’s the final, the most important game of the whole competition. We need to be ready to play with all our ability, our heart and our soul”, said the striker Ana Laura, top scorer of the team with eight goals. “I hope that I have the chance to play this final, as I played well the semifinal, so I’m really anxious”, said the midfielder Joseane, who played a vital role in last game.

“Of course we are happy to reach the final, but we need to prepare ourselves for this last game. Our opponent isn’t weak, finished the first phase in the first place, so we know that we’ll face a tough opponent”, said the midfielder Fernanda Garcia, one of the favourite players of the supporters. “I’m happy to hear that”, she completed, after hearing that the supporters love her.

But the coach Melissa Araguaia is calm and is giving advices to all the players: “Yes, they need to be prepared for all the pressure that they’ll face. I know that they’ll become nervous, so it’s better to stay calm.” Melissa also released the squad for the last game, the final that will decide which country will win the second Q-Cup. It’ll be Toranat or Cafundéu?

The formation: Caroline, Vanessa, Luana, Morena and Sarah; Letícia, Alice, Joseane and Fernanda Garcia; Ana Paula and Ana Laura. “It’s a four-four-two with an offensive style”, commented the coach.

CAFUNDÉU DEFEATS TORANAT AND WINS THE Q-CUP

It was a historic day for the all the girls that played the second Q-Cup. The team defeated Toranat after a difficult game and won the championship. After the game, all the players went to a party in the hotel and even invited players of the other teams and some important guests. Happy with the title, won after many battles for the victories, the players had the right to rest for some time, or to have fun.

“When I scored the winning goal, I knew that this would be an important moment. Winning this title after many hard games is very special. Now we must commemorate, and then do our best in the next competitions, there’s still lots of them to come”, said the happy midfielder Fernanda Garcia, one of the best players of the tournament, who was in the hotel party, commemorating with the other players and with the staff members.

“We deserved it. After so much time of preparations, of training. Everything that we did was necessary to finish in the best position of this championship. I’m happy too to help, and to win, now I have my medal”, said the attacker Ana Laura, who also scored two goals in the game, kissing her gold medal, won after the victory in the final game. “I’ll have something to show to my son when I return to Cafundéu”, said Joseane, who is married with the counselor of sports, and his brother is a very good football player who plays for Pernetas EC.

“Look at this... this is my award... I just played few minutes of the last game, as I’m a bench player, but I... I... I’m a good player... so I deserved... deserved it”, said Viviane Paquetá, a bit drunk after some hours of party. The media decided to stop her interview. “Look at this, Estresse Intenso! Who’s better now, the emperor or your president, that is ruled by Institute Landau?”, said Caroline, a bit drunk too.

“This is a game to remember. We played like champions, and became the champions. Just that”, this way the coach Melissa Araguaia explained how the team got its first international title. Now the team will return to Cafundéu, the players will return to their domestic clubs, and soon they’ll return to play in an international competition, the Women’s World Cup, which is going to its eight edition.
