A Question

The Great Monty Python

As some of you may already know, our nation, "The Great Monty Python" is hosting an International Film Festival in Piemon, our capital city and there has been a lack of response to submit films. Is this because the holiday season and Christmas is coming and people are away, or is there just a lack of intrest about films festivals at the moment?
Please reply so I know whether to delay it or continue it.
Thanks,
Monty

P.S. If you want to submit a film, please go to this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=511197).
If you want to role play, please go to this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=511344).
If you don't want to do any of this, just watch "Forgetting Hope" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12102938&postcount=12). It's a very good film.

In my case, two reasons I think:

1) I'll be going in a few days to spend the Christmas period in England (visiting family there), and won't be online until at least New Years' Eve

2) It's been done before, it was active for a while, then abruptly stopped. I submitted several films to the last one, roleplayed, and it came to nothing. Maybe I'll muster up a bit of enthusiasm to redo in your thread what I've already done in another one, but not before January I'm afraid.

Between finals, holidays, travel, etc - it's a slow time. Things tend to pick up after school and family obligations are taken care of, and folks have time to sober up from New Years. ;)

Good luck with the thread - and don't get discouraged if something doesn't take off like a rocket. Even older more established players run into lag and and lack of posts the like now and then - it happens.

Aye during this time it tends to be Finals and then the holidays.

However I've run into quite the lag in a few of my RPs, even before the holidays. Maybe it's just a generally busy year for RPers :(

It'll pick up again methinks

If this is the main reason, I may delay it until the most amount of people are able to do it.

If you think this is going to be a repeat of Montreal Film Festival, it won't be. If many people take part, I guarantee that it won't be stopped without a very, very good reason.

Thanks for your support. I'll keep the threads open over the holidays and New Year, if anyone wants to submit anything in that time, and later on I'll change the schedule, so the deadline for submitting films and people will be around 1st weekend after New Year to mid January.

I'd be interested in participating, but again, after the holidays would probably be best...

I think so as well. As I said before, I keep the thread open for submitting, but the event will be in about a months time.
